Man Charged in Death of Sonya Guerra | Texas News
A 33-year-old man, Christopher Vargas, has been formally charged with murder in the death of 55-year-old Sonya Martinez Guerra, found fatally injured during a welfare check at her home. Already in custody on unrelated charges, Vargas was previously identified as a person of interest and also faces burglary charges. Elgin police say they’ve gathered enough evidence to pursue the murder charge, and he remains jailed without bond.
