The key phrase: 我想游水. Let's break it down. 我想 means 'I want', 游水 means 'to swim'. So 我想游水. Luna: 我想游水. I want to swim. Lucas: Exactly. You've got it. And a very natural thing to say when you step into the sea? 水好凍. 水 is water, 好凍 is very cold. So 水好凍 means the water is very cold. Luna: 水好凍. The water is very cold. Oh, I can feel it already. Lucas: So if someone asks you if you know how to swim, you'll hear 你識唔識游水. 你 is you, 識唔識 is 'do you know how to', and 游水 is to swim. So 你識唔識游水. Luna: 你識唔識游水. Do you know how to swim? I can ask that now. Lucas: And how would you answer if you do like swimming? You can say 我鍾意游水. 我 is I, 鍾意 is like, 游水 swim. So 我鍾意游水 means I like swimming. Luna: 我鍾意游水. I like swimming. That's an easy one. Lucas: And if you don't know how to swim? You say 我唔識游水. 唔識 is don't know how. So 我唔識游水. Luna: 我唔識游水. I don't know how to swim. That's important to know. Lucas: And finally, a lovely way to describe the experience: 游水好開心. 游水 swimming, 好開心 is very happy. So swimming is very fun. Luna: 游水好開心. Swimming is very fun. I hope so. Lucas: Let's practice all of them together. Repeat after me: 我想游水. 水好凍. 你識唔識游水. 我鍾意游水. 我唔識游水. 游水好開心. Luna: 我想游水. 水好凍. 你識唔識游水. 我鍾意游水. 我唔識游水. 游水好開心. That felt good. Lucas: You did it. Now let's put them into a tiny scene. So you're at the beach, you walk to the water, you dip your toes in and say 水好凍. Luna: 水好凍. Man, it is cold. Lucas: Then your friend asks 你識唔識游水? And you say 我識游水 but 我鍾意游水 more than 我唔識游水. Luna: Oh, so if you know how, you say 我識游水. And if you don't, 我唔識游水. Got it. Lucas: Right. And if you're having a great time, you just say 游水好開心.
