- 0:09[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we're testing one more time to see my hair smell like tacos You know what your hands yet.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_03]: I mean I wash my hands like three times Those are crazy.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the tacos over here.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: We hello strong.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's all it's all in the corridor team I feel like I'm still gonna feel like smell it tomorrow morning.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: Wait, is this the beginning of the episode?
- 0:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think so.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's fine Should we check the audio real good?
- 0:34[SPEAKER_03]: Let's just check the audio just to make sure, but I think we're good
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: So, we had some tacos today because if you don't know, we're in Mexico.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: Specifically, we're in Mexico City right now.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: We, this is, I think it's the first time that we're recording on location.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_03]: We're recording live.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, from, we're recording live, from, uh, Hugh Dodd?
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: Hugh Dodd?
- 0:58[SPEAKER_03]: What are you doing?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: Hugh Dodd, they make you?
- 1:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: You guys, we're having a lot of fun pronouncing all these Spanish words.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's so crazy because, by the way, if the audio sounds a little bit different, it's because we, since we are recording for the first time, on location, as in just traveling.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so we have like different mics.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have our usual mics with us.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm holding the mic pretty close to my mouth right now.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_03]: And I keep smelling the food that we had earlier.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which we didn't have some really good tacos.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: We went to this place, waited in line for like 30 minutes.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: I forget what it's called.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's called like, ma, ma, zaju.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_03]: Mizarita.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_02]: It was like my yeast, which is, you know, corn, like masa.
- 1:48[SPEAKER_02]: If they have the options to have like corn tortillas or flour You get If you get corn you say my eats my eat my anyways, yes, so so the place was that the place was really good, but I wouldn't say was 10 I would say was like an eight out of 10.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we had some really good It's a really good tacos the other day, but so far my so my favorite food that we had was was an into loom
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: It was a little bit of a little bit of what we needed to do.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_03]: Well, let's break it down.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_03]: We talked today's episode is all going to be about our two-room trip.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: We're there for five days, exactly.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: It was like five days, including travel days.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: It was four full days into loom.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: And then two-half days that we're traveling, which ended up being like another day.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_03]: And if you're listening, you don't know where to loom is just... Look it up on the map.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_03]: Google it.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_03]: T-U-L-D-U-M. Yeah, it's on the...
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's on the... Caribbean... the Caribbean side of... Mexico...
- 3:01[SPEAKER_03]: It's not Mexico, it's Mexico.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: OK, Mexico.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: And it's close to Cancun, play out the Carmen, come to Mel, there's a lot of different areas there.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: Also, I don't think it's right to obviously talk about the fact that we're in Mexico right now.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: without letting us know that we're good, that we're safe, there was a lot going on in the country yesterday when we were recording this, it's Monday and on Sunday there was some crazy stuff going
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but if anybody's listening, who is in Mexico right now and you are anywhere in the affected areas of all of the violence that has been going on, we hope that you're safe, that you're good, and then you're going to get home safe if you're, if you're traveling safe and ASAP.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and if you are a local, like we're really thinking about you and hopefully everything will resolve and things will feel like safe again because Mexico is so beautiful in our time here has been amazing and She went down this not even 24 hours after getting here.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: After, well, after getting to, yeah, we'll be landed on Saturday.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: We landed on Saturday.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: Sunday morning, shit went down.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_03]: So everybody knows.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: But if you don't know what's going on, an easy, an easy search will make it very clear.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: But we wanted to, in this episode, talk about our to loom trip, especially because this was officially our first time.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: every in our lives.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, since we've been together, but every in both of our lives, we've actually been on what people really think about when they say going on vacation.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: And this is something that we actually wanted to do for a very long time, and two looms was, well first we thought about going to Asia to doing like our full like on the beach vacation.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: And Asia.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: No work.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well, then we talk about like we wanted to go to Thailand.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but I feel like I'm going to Thailand to Vietnam.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to go to the beach.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to go like explore.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm, I just remember we were talking to the end places.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, okay.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: Like we were looking at a Jamaica Yeah, we're gonna go to like we wanted to go somewhere that it's like white sand Crystal blue waters so I don't know how to talk about we will after that wanted to go to Bali or something So just relax or something.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but yeah, we've been talking about neither of us.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about this.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: I forget what episode it was or maybe we didn't even talk about it on the podcast.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: But we were talking about how like growing up, my family didn't go on vacation.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think when you think about going on vacation, we're not talking about trips or like road trips or getaways in the same country you live or something like that camping.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about vacation to sort of like an escape.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_02]: Like a tropical island or like a tropical place.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_02]: You go straight to resort is very sort of,
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: And I saw your luxury things.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but when you say vacation, everybody knows it's a war vacation.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, is it what I'm talking about?
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: So.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we talked about that in the last episode.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_03]: How I mean, he was the same for me with my family.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_03]: I don't, I mean, I don't remember.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he never took a plane and went to like a home to a vacation like days.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_03]: No, I don't.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_03]: And we have a, and it's cool.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_03]: So this is, this was like the program.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'll be too in detail, actually.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: And we've been saying that we want to go specifically on the, at any time we've traveled one, we've always traveled in like an explorative type of way.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: We've always gone to different cities and different countries and really just kind of like a bopped around the place, went and ate out a bunch of places, tried to really understand like the culture and the people,
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: and the history and the art and everything like that.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: So it's always been like an explorative type of traveling, but we've never done a leisurely relaxing type of vacation travel.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_02]: And we always said that we really want to do this type of trip where all we do is lay by the water, the ocean, the pool, the whatever it is.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: But ideally like I don't know if they're going to a place
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: I got always rather be at a hotel or house that has access to like a natural body of water that has waves.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and we didn't even do that.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we kind of did, but we scored.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean, we didn't lay on the beach at all, on the beach the whole time.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yoni has this ESL thing where he sometimes says, I said,
- 8:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we lay it on the beach last, that sounds crazy.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: Because we actually, we were, I can't remember talking to somebody into Lou when we were there.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember that story by no way.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't remember doing that.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, I can't remember who we were talking to.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_03]: We were looking for a beach club and the guy that came out on this trip.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_03]: And then I said something like, oh, yeah.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_03]: Can we go check out the beach?
- 8:43[SPEAKER_03]: instead of checking out it because we wanted to check it out before we, you know, hey, you know, yeah.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: So if we don't reset that, you said that, that's crazy.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: We were kind of like, trying to speak Spanish a little bit with this guy and it was, yeah, if you don't know, to loom is basically there's to loom sit like the town of to loom, the city of to loom, that is relatively small, obviously.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: And it's away from the water.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: So the city itself is not on the water.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: And then from the city, you take this really long road that gets you to the water.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: And then there's a road that goes down along the beach that has all of the hotels, the resorts, the...
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: Stuck a hunch on your toes.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: yeah it's so many hotels the restaurants and you can either stay on a hotel that's like on the jungle side on the beach side and we said at a hotel that was actually like pretty much at the very end of the hotel strip you kind of end up driving in the jungle to get to it and we really wanted to stay somewhere that was quiet so I'm really glad that we ended up staying at that spot even though they did tell us
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: to only tell our close friends about it because they want to keep it pretty private.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a really small boutique hotel.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, sorry if you're going to ask us where we stay at I can't tell you.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, but I'm so glad we stayed there.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: Because there was so much of the beach strip that was very kind of like touristy, clubby, really, really big hotels with like hell of people that are staying in it.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_03]: It was so nice, it was really, it was calm, there was no, other than the music they were playing, at the bar there was no loud music, people playing, music so loud that you're not even considering like your neighbors like that.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_03]: You know, the other hotels I feel like they're made for clubs, I mean, not close, but like loud music.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_03]: So, yeah.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_03]: So, when you get to our hotel where we were at, you pretty much as it's drive past all the loud stuff.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm nice, especially.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, at night, some of that shit goes crazy, like it's full on clubs and they're obviously because it into loom is hot all the time.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_03]: The clubs are kind of open, but it's not a cool though, like I would like to experience that at some point too, like one day, let's just go out.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm good to like a club and I didn't have to I didn't have that's the thing like the club was open I didn't even have to like wonder what it was like I felt like I was in the club already just by being on street Like I can hear the music I can hear the people yelling I can see the girls with like the lights and shit I don't need any of that and the music is like whatever
- 11:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, we stayed.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you picked a good good spot and that was really good and this was the first time that we I Everyone like look that hotels because most of the time most of the time when we travel in a new city We like to stay in an area and be because you get to
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: obviously like have more space usually they're a bit cheaper.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_02]: Now I know that Airbnb's especially in like really big cities like Mexico City or even when we went to Lisbon and Portugal like there's a lot going on with Airbnb's taking over cities and that's something that I really we wanted to keep in mind and I really want to keep in mind like moving forward because I do I do understand how it affects you know people that are living in
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: those cities and it's obviously not having good effects on that.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why it was just interesting because I never like look at hotels.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: So then looking at hotels like which one looks like what is it so you never really know what the room is going to be like until you get there.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, some hotels do a really good job at showing you everybody uses like the wide angle camera.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: Like everything looks way bigger.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_03]: And also, even Airbnb is to you walk in and everything is always just smaller.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: But another thing too is like hotel specifically, is usually they'll show you like depending where you book it.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you book it on one of those like travel websites, like Expedia or whatever,
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: you go on there, they will show you photos of all the, all the rooms, I know.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: So sometimes it's like you have to do so much work trying to figure out like which room, are you, would you stay in and what exactly it looks like?
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: because yeah, sometimes like I was a little bit, I was a little bit surprised by our room and I feel like one, you book it so far in advance by the time you get there, you're like damn, this is what I booked.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: Because our hotel room was basically one room and then the bathroom was open.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like the bathroom didn't have a door.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: It was kind of the bathroom was right behind the bed.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: It was the middle of the room.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the separation was a mirror hanging in the middle of the room and this sort of bar area where the sink was in it.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: But then the toilet is right there.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_03]: I've never seen a room like that, like the one you saw in there.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the shower was right.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_03]: So everything is out in the open.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_03]: So like, if you want to take a shower, you're like, everybody, you know what I'm going to see.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_03]: You take a shower.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody, as in the one other person you're staying with.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_03]: But what if there's more people there that would be everybody?
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but then, but there's only two people that can sit in that room.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_03]: So I just mean to say everybody that's there.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is like, you know, however close you are, everybody's different.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: But like, sometimes you just need privacy.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_03]: So how did you feel?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_03]: This was, I think, the first time where... Yeah.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I just asked you to please step out of the room while I do my business.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_03]: Not all the time.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes I was just like, you were like, okay, babe.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_03]: Can you just put on some headphones?
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, that's true.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, there was one day because it was late at night, and I was not about to make you like go outside They've been speaking.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I liked it.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't mind it.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: You liked it.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I didn't mind it.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it was cool.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_03]: You know, if anything, it bought us closer.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so there's like some people like you know relationships, maybe like
- 15:22[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't matter how long you'd be in a relationship with someone.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_03]: You would never use the bathroom while your partner is just, can just hear everything.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: No, I, I was actually thinking.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: So when we were at the hotel, because the hotel is like very, the hotel we were in, it kind of felt like someone's house a little bit, even though the rooms were obviously separate and they're kind of like each room had an outdoor,
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: Exit, so it was like we're in a big building and we all like taken, taken elevator or something.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: It was like tiny little hut rooms That were outside, so everybody had to be had their own like entry But there was a lot of communal spaces of just like big tables outside of stuff.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: We would have dinner and We ended up you know meeting a few it was mostly I think mostly if not only couples that were seeing at this hotel
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: And we ended up, you know, chatting with some people that were there, and it was interesting because one of the couples that we met was kind of like a, like, it was like a super long relationship.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I think they had been together for maybe less than a year to like almost a year.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_03]: And shout out to you for listening to this, by the way.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I was just thinking, I was just thinking how like they're pretty early in that relationship, and I'm wondering how they're dealing with the bathroom situation, because I'm pretty sure all
- 16:52[SPEAKER_02]: I thought about that like right now.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wow.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that would be a cool question to just ask them.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Ask them just like, how y'all doing with the bathroom situation?
- 17:02[SPEAKER_03]: So the beach was really nice.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: The beach was really nice.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_03]: The every single morning we woke up, I was trying to catch the sunrise, but sometimes your that bed was comfortable.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like you know you want to see the sunrise but at the same time you're so comfortable in that bed, I was just so we missed it the first couple night.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: the first couple of days morning so we missed it but the one thing about the one thing about the beach until limps specifically is that unfortunately it deals with a lot of what I forget the actual name I think it's like seagasum or like
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: Sergasm, something like that sounds kind of weird, but it's basically a bunch of like seaweed But it's a really thick and and scratchy patches big chunks of seaweed that are flowing in the water and That basically get washed up on the shore and it can get really really really bad.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: You got in the water pretty You got like pretty far out there.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you see now all the way to where you can't feel like the bottom
- 18:09[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even want to go in there that deep because it just feels so uncomfortable.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: That I would say the first thing that I went in there was uncomfortable because you just hitting your body, swimming and there's like all these scratchy, it's like there's different types of seaweed.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_02]: This one is like a scratchy one.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: Even when it's in the water, it feels like there's like a scratchy sponge.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: And also who knows, maybe it's something else.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_03]: So you're just thinking it's that.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I wasn't thinking Matt specifically, but there's nothing appealing about like wanting to dive head first into water when it's full of like all these chunks of seaweed Yeah, that's what that's what you're doing
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, that was the one thing that I would say, like, Tulum was really beautiful, but I would want to experience going on this type of, you know, vacation tropical vacation in a place that has like really, really truly crystal clear water.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_03]: What do you just want to stay in it?
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you want to just stay in it.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_03]: And with this one, it was kind of like, our, you know, we're here.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_03]: Let me just get in it for a little bit because I mean, it is what it is.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and this is just the reality of the place.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_02]: There's no, this is not us like, you know, complaining about this and not something that anybody can do about it.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: This is just like how it is.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're used to it and if you live there,
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's one thing, but like if you, you know, you're spending all this money You're using all your precious time to like go on this specific vacation for for the water to be like that When you really want to be that crystal clear blue water, you know, it was a little bit of a of a disappointment But regardless the beach was the beach was amazing the sand was crazy.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_02]: I've never felt such soft sand
- 19:49[SPEAKER_03]: It was soft, but it was really thick at the same time.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was very like packed.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which I like.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: And there was no, there was, yeah, there was no like, it was really, it was really windy, which I didn't expect.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like I guess it would be really hot when you're just away from the water, but as soon as you like walk onto the beach in the openness of the beach, you are immediately hit with so much sand.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_02]: And it also be a lot of like salts in the air that is being, you know, pushed onto the beach from the, from the sea, and then you would just constantly be like salty and sticky, and But you know, the bean sticky part, I, I don't mind that.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_03]: You know, yeah, I kind of like it.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a, it's a little bit annoying for me because my hair gets like fucked up.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's fine, but why do you care necessarily?
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care just like annoying.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it was like, my hair, my hair is like really, like a crazy, it's like my hair is crazy.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: So how it looked.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then on top of that, we have to tell you guys about our favorite, has to be probably our favorite part of the trip, which was the fact that to get around to loom, the easiest way to get around to loom is by a scooter.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_03]: You have to get a school or if you ever visit to loom guys, don't bother renting a car.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_02]: No, you're missing out on my map now.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_02]: If not, all the fun of being there.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like that was like 80% of the... Yeah, that was our favorite part.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think the mode of transportation in a new place.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if the mic picks up all the noise outside, but it's pretty loud down here.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're on this main street where there's a lot of commotion.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: But the main, one of my favorite parts about traveling anywhere has always been,
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: our mode of transportation is like, how are we biking around?
- 21:52[SPEAKER_02]: Are we like, even when we're driving?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: It's like driving becomes fun because then you get to experience the place in such a specific way.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: Or are we, you know, using like what are those collectors?
- 22:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like the the it's like a scooter, but
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like some some electrical scooter, but then the scooter that we used in Toilet was a little bit like a festival.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was a real you're not for some getting on it.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was a little I mean yeah, I kind of assumed it was the first time
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: It was a little sketch at first, just because, you know, getting the hang of it.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: And this was one where we both were sitting on it.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_02]: So, Yoni was driving and then I was sitting behind him, holding onto this bar that was on the side.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: And then having this little thing, God, the one that we had had this little, like,
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: box that you can store things you like open it in the back and then it's just like a little box where you would put you know like your bag or you know groceries or whatever and that kind of ended up being like the back of my seat.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_03]: Were you leaning the back on it?
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, because you were leaning on me, I was then kind of leaning on that.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_03]: But I was trying to figure out like, do you want to have that space between my back and your chest?
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: Because anytime you would, uh, like, uh,
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: pull the break or press the break or whatever and me would like slow down.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_02]: I would move full.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_02]: I would go forward because I'm not holding onto anything like you're holding onto the actual bike.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: So if we're stopping like you're you're pressed into the bike because I didn't have anything any time we would slow down.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_02]: I would like go forward and it would feel really like not say.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: Not secure.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, oh, that's why I needed you to like I needed the pressure from the front and then I needed the the back box thing to like help me So then I felt like wait, what are you going through?
- 23:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, once I once I got used to it I felt really comfortable.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, driving that driving that was really really fun probably like I would say It was the most fun.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_02]: It was like the best part of the trip like we were just trying to be on a scooter all day
- 24:04[SPEAKER_03]: because think about it too, and also it was only $70 for the whole time we were there.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_03]: In New York, $70,000 wouldn't even get you.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: Don't get you like one day.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_03]: My God, I have for a day.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_02]: No, I would get you like a day of a car rent.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, day, those scooters go really fast.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_03]: I was surprised.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_03]: You know, half the time, I wasn't even really like going.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I wasn't letting you only going fat.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_03]: Go for it.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_03]: I wanted to go so also mind you, people are going faster than us.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm like, okay, let me try to keep up with the traffic and then I'll be like,
- 24:38[SPEAKER_03]: Babe, it says max 30, like miles per hour, right?
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's a kilometers.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm just like, okay, but nobody's going that slow.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_02]: No, by the way.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: I was in trouble.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_03]: So then I would go to like 35.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_03]: It should be like.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_03]: Babe, dirty bags.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_03]: So then a few times I did that and you saw us slow down.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, but there were also a few times where you're going 50 was supposed to be 30 And I felt like we were going too fast one time I was doing 60 because I don't know if you just feels especially like when there's just like palm trees around you You're going slow You're going straight you have to go fast
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: I get it and we did go fast at some points, but then it gets like hell of windy you start crying like you can't really see anything.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_03]: You know, sometimes it was like sand or flattening my eye and I would just like drive with like one eye.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_02]: I know, sometimes I could tell that shit got in your eye and then we're still going hell of fast.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: You're not slowing down.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: I can tell you're like looking at the side and I'm like, yo, you good?
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like I can't tell and the road to like, the, some of the roads were, um,
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: because there were a lot of the roads are kind of just like straight for a really long time.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_02]: It would be like a random sort of, I don't know what you call it, like, like, like, um,
- 25:54[SPEAKER_03]: like a bump.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like a bump in the road to like force you to slow down.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_03]: But sometimes they weren't like three of them back the back.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: And they made them like an in a very specific way.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_02]: They're very like thin and tall.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: So going over it is like really uncomfortable.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: And then yeah, again, you would have like three of those back to back.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_03]: And also the bottom of the scooter we're hitting everyone's in a lot of specialty.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_03]: If I go fast and I hate that feeling.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: you're like, you're already breaking the scooter, like, what's going on?
- 26:22[SPEAKER_00]: But it was a really fun time.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_03]: You have to get the scooter if you're going on a seed now.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_03]: Like, if you go to another country and have those available, I would love to get around with that.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, absolutely.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: I guess we went to be far.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: That's a way better than a car.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: That would be super fun.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: Except if everybody, like, to loom the traffic is, you know, you're on one road, everybody's kind of going one way or the
- 26:45[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm imagining like if you were to be somewhere in Vietnam or even Thailand or Indonesia or India You know, it's like this is like the main needs of transportation and the road I love chaos, so I would still want to know like god.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_00]: How do you get all over well?
- 27:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, how do you get so far one to really easily?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_03]: If there's a lot of noise, people who can maybe a lot of people yelling or whatever.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's like actually very fair that I get, is that even I'm getting overwhelmed easily?
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a normal situation get overwhelmed.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_03]: And it also, yeah, that's true.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_03]: But when we were on the scooter, obviously I'm rushing the road.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_03]: I'm watching where I'm going.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: I have so focused.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_03]: So then once I think you thought that I was looking at the trees while driving and they were like, babe, can you just look at the road?
- 27:39[SPEAKER_03]: But I was looking at the road.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe like my helmet look like it was looking sideways.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: From the back, it kind of looks, it seemed to me that you were kind of looking to the side like around where we were driving and I do get because you were driving the whole time.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: You weren't able to really take in the sights.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_02]: Or like, I was around us.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_03]: I was taking it in.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, that's why that's why I said that But we so I want to talk about how even though this was our first time doing this sort of vacation We also didn't do any work.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: Neither of us filmed videos where we were there it was amazing
- 28:19[SPEAKER_03]: On the iPhone stuff.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I'm taking a lot of photos.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_03]: I have some amazing photos.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_03]: I can't wait to show you.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm so curious how those photos turned out.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there's going to be some some photos that I know for sure.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_03]: I'll want to print it, especially the black and white ones.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like what was I going to say?
- 28:38[SPEAKER_05]: Well, you'll talk about it in the next video.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so we didn't film, we said we're not going to do any work on this part of the trip.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: And the first, like the idea that I imagined is exactly how I set it in the beginning of the episode.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: If we want to go find a really nice hotel, it's comfortable, that's quiet, it's not a huge hotel, it has a nice beach, nice beach seating and all that.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_02]: And we're just going to lay by the water and relax all day.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: And the idea of that was cool.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: But then I realized like, I can't be doing that for more than one day.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I also can't be doing that all day for four days.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: Just being at the beach.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like, yeah, I can't just like wake up, eat at the hotel, have breakfast at the hotel, take like a ghost swimming, sit on the beach until lunch, have lunch at the hotel, take a nap,
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, maybe more to the beach again.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_03]: What I'm trying to figure out is that who, what is that?
- 29:49[SPEAKER_03]: Do you come from a lot of people that do that?
- 29:52[SPEAKER_03]: Like you see, there's a seat all day.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, like there's people that are at their resort.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like this was a hotel.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: If you were to go to somewhere that was more of a resort, that was like really, really big, and they have like three pools in the beach.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: And like all that, there's people that just stay at the hotel and don't leave for like,
- 30:13[SPEAKER_03]: days.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_03]: I can't.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_02]: And there's maybe like multiple restaurants.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: So today you're gonna try this restaurant.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like remember Malta The hotel that we were at and it had it was such a big hotel.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_02]: It was like a whole building Right with so many rooms.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: There was like all these different There was like three different restaurants or something like that.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_02]: Then you have you know the activities that may be come from the hotel So you think people stay there the whole time
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, in multiple specifically, like, probably not, but there are places where like, all there is are resorts and like nothing else.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: And because to loom the way that it's set up is like, you have the strip of hotels, which we were staying on.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: But then to get to the to loom town of the to loom city, you have to like drive about, it was like 25 minutes, 20, 25 minutes with the scooter.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_02]: um and there were people that just like didn't leave the hotel strip and the hotel strip like there are some restaurants you can walk you know you can go you can walk like from where we were to maybe the end of it is like a two hour walk let's say like it's a long strip you know um and there's like some shops and like stuff like that but they say it's all made
- 31:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and it really looks like it's a lot of the stores look the same.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_03]: But it's cool, you know, if that's your thing, that's your thing.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_03]: But I feel like for us in the way we like to travel is that the way we did it.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: It was perfect.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_03]: It kind of been better.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: But it made me realize that we, even though I kind of imagined, I had this idea of like our vacation.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you know what?
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of don't want to just do that.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: exactly like I did like know how to just like do just do the same thing every day for days and to also not you're telling me I'm gonna eat the same thing or the same place and I'm gonna see what else is there.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_03]: The first time we went on on onto the beach right and we were like all right cool we're here and it was so funny I remember like this specific moment I'll look at you.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: and then you were just standing on the sand right there the hotel is behind us really beautiful like everything was like it was a vibe right but then I was just like okay it was kind of a moment like we didn't know what to do yeah like I was like I don't know so then I was just like just sat on the sand
- 32:46[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, you just sat down.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, cool, like, what are we supposed to do?
- 32:50[SPEAKER_03]: But it's, I think it's, um, I think no first morning.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was our first morning.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_03]: We was at, okay, she was just sitting here.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: We woke up and it was after the sunrise.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: So we didn't really see the sunrise.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: But then it was obviously, you know, it was sunny, the sun was in the sky.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: We went to the water.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, do I put on my babies?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like, how do people do this?
- 33:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I just didn't know the order of things.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_02]: You're overthinking, you know, you just go for thinking, but you know how I am it's like I like things to be like perfect So I need to have to like I really have to set it up in my mind like what are we doing?
- 33:26[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, that's like a good thing, but also too far.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, definitely.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_03]: Because I'm so not there, I'm just like, if something is not perfect, it's perfect because it's not perfect.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but it doesn't necessarily have to be perfect.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_02]: It just needs to be figured out.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_03]: No, you need it.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well, yeah, it doesn't have to be perfect, but you would like it to be perfect.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: No, because I don't even know what, but there's no, I don't have a perfect image.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you just want to know what is the plan.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_03]: You need to know what.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: I need to know, are we just gonna be at the hotel today and like if that, if the answer is yes, okay, no.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_03]: But why do you need to know that?
- 34:00[SPEAKER_03]: Why can't you just like be at the hotel and then we'll see what Alia.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_03]: You're not like, go at the flow.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see what happens.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_03]: Stop it, person.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_03]: That's me.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_03]: 100%.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: I have definitely gotten a bit better.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not as rigid as I used to be with us shit.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_03]: You're still...
- 34:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's never like, okay, we know we're just gonna walk around a little bit and see what we get into.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_03]: You're like, no, I need to know where you want to go.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_03]: Like, you need a direction, even now.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sure, I do need a direction.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_03]: Like, if we go outside right now, you're not gonna be walking on it.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_03]: Because your brain just needs to know where...
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's putting its energy tool.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly, and I don't think that's a bad thing.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: But but we basically didn't know how to just relax and we didn't know how to just we ended up having like after a couple days I've run my book.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_03]: I read like one paragraph.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, you read a little bit you read a little bit and I read a little bit too, but we ended up going
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: We ended up going to, oh, well, I wanted to say the, the, the, the other couple that we ended up talking to in the, in the hotel.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: We arrived on the same day and we met the first night when we had dinner.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_02]: And then throughout our stay, we obviously like bump to each other and just ask like, oh, what you guys been up to.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this is what we've been doing blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: And we had been like every morning.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_02]: pretty much every morning.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: We like would wake up, get dressed, get right.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: We would go to the beach, look at the sunrise.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so beautiful.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_02]: Feel the, for the sun on our face, whatever, maybe go for a good quick morning walk.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_02]: And we've been waking up really early, even though we're going to go like 7 a.m. to watch the sunrise.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_03]: I was determined.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_03]: I honestly think,
- 35:46[SPEAKER_03]: The first sunrise that I caught, it was a pretty cloudy sunrise, but I think the photos turned out really really bad.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, black and white.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_03]: Normally you wouldn't photograph sunrise or sunset in black and white, but I think it looks great.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm I'm just to see because I was like, are you not going to take photo photo color photos of this?
- 36:14[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: But then, yeah, we would wake up.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: We watched the sunrise.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: We would go for like a morning walk or something.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: Then we would get ready, like, you know, get dressed and whatever we're going to wear.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: And then it was pretty hot, so we're kind of wearing, you know, like whatever, and then we would hop on the scooter, and we would bike, we would bike, or no, we would scoot, and we would scoot.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: We would scoot over to town and we would go to the town to loom town and we would go get breakfast there and then see what's around the town and then.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_03]: No, it was really, it was really fun.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like we explore the actual city of Tulum and got, like we didn't really hang out on the hotel strip because it just has hotels and random stores.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_03]: I had no interest in doing that.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: And like, it just felt like this is set up for people who are traveling to Tulum.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: And we wanted to go to where locals live.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_03]: People in Tulum like actually the locals would know whatever they do, whether it's like grocery shopping,
- 37:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like whatever they're like selling fruit out of their truck and stuff like that remember coconut we got the coconut the fresh coconut Yeah, it was hot.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I want to ask people is it normal for the coconut water to be What do you call it when you get it out of the yeah, like we got coconut water from the actual young coconut Yeah, I didn't know it was young coconut old coconut coconut coconut coconut
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: Cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo
- 38:13[SPEAKER_03]: What should I look at up real quick?
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: Something... Something similar.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: I need to tell you guys because the seafood we had there was...
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: It was crazy.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_02]: We had um... let me just... La Tomasa Negra.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's what it's called.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_02]: It just...
- 38:30[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't really yet.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_02]: It just came to my mind.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_02]: Um... Yeah, something like that.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_02]: La Tomasa...
- 38:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, oh, you look at me.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, la negra tomasa.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, good memory.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's a 10 out of 10.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_02]: That was like one of my favorite, our favorite meals.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: We had an amazing Agua Chile there.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_02]: We had some like tunato status.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_02]: We had delicious, delicious stuff.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like almost didn't realize how good seafood, like Mexican seafood is.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_02]: and next door to this restaurant there was this lady that she was just sitting in this dark as hallway but at the end of the hallway there's like connected to the street she had this table with a bunch of coconut coconut water all this stuff so like okay we wanted like let's get you know when in when in Mexico and we got this coconut from it was cool to see her
- 39:24[SPEAKER_03]: chopping it up, chopping it up in front of us, you know.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she had this big-ass machete.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and she was just like cutting the the top of the coconut Because I mean, I mean, I don't know why for some reason and I posted it and everybody was laughing in my DMs because I was like I thought it was supposed to be cold One it was supposed to be cold.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: So is it like really watery?
- 39:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's not supposed to be cold because they're not keeping the coconuts in the fridge
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, but like why don't you keep it in the fridge today because I think that's maybe like an American like a U.S. thing like we're used to drinking cold coconut It's probably that if you just drink it from the motherland Like if you just pick it from the palm tree, that should ain't in the fridge right
- 40:06[SPEAKER_03]: Think about it.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_03]: That's true, but I guess I don't know like it was an I didn't finish it.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like you would want it to be refreshing.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_02]: And you're thinking if it's refreshing, it's going to be cold for one.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: But two straight out of the coconut maybe maybe this was just like not a great one.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: But it was it was really watery like it did have like what do you mean?
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: That coconut flavor like it almost seems to just like plain water.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was interesting.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: And the coconut itself was yellow.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that matters because sometimes there's like green coconut.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yellow coconut.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_03]: I want to take it that brown coconut.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think you drink, you don't drink the, no, the brown coconut, you use for like the coconut meat.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's what I don't think you drink.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: Like there's a little bit of water in that coconut bus.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_03]: If you live anywhere on a island and you're familiar with this type of stuff, please educate us because we don't know what it's supposed to be.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_03]: We just got it and it was um.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: We don't.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_03]: It was interesting, but it was so, you know, also to like, scenes just like random dogs walking around by themselves, I thought I was pretty cool.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: Is that that's something that I grew up with, so it's not very really.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, in Bucharest, we have stray dogs everywhere.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't deal with those very well, because you know, I mean, they kind of like leave you alone.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_03]: They don't do nothing.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_03]: They don't come up to you.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: You also want to leave them alone, though.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_03]: You don't want to like pet the stray dogs.
- 41:31[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_03]: Like they did just kind of like chilled in and they don't.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think it depends on that.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I've seen a few tops on the other side.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: He only formed a specific bond with this one straight dog.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: After we had some tacos at Taco, on a Rio, very good tacos in to loom.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're right.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_03]: No, what dog you're talking about?
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there was a good dog you wanted to give him water.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you know, it was a dog that was just walking around the street and it was a really busy street with a lot of things.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_03]: It might look so thirsty.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: Tom hanging out.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, tongue hanging out and I was just like, I need to find some water.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_03]: So we had a little bit left from the her business drink that we had from the restaurant.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we had my, our God.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: They have my God.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I was drinking and he was okay.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_03]: But then I saw the dog as we were walking out.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: And so I went back to the bathroom.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_03]: I dumped it.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm out of here.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_03]: I dumped because I didn't know.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: It was to be honest.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't that good.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: We got that one and we also got this like cucumber mint.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_03]: drink that was crazy.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: I was so good because they served these drinks.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_02]: They had a bunch of other drinks in these like plastic bottles that look like water bottles.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_02]: They're like water bottles, but not branded or anything.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_02]: And they're not, you know, like in the US, you would have something like this to be like a fancy like thick plastic sort of bottle.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_02]: And this one was like a really thin,
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, it was like that type of water bottle, which is what made it fire something about it It's like you know that you just could be good.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you can just look at and they had so many different different ones So I'll go to the bathroom.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_03]: I dumped the head biscuit's tea.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_03]: I fill it up a water And then I go back outside looking for that dog and he was just there kind of walking around He really he really looks like he was looking for for some water So then I walk up to him and then I didn't even know how to give him the water because how do you give it dog water from a
- 43:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you don't it's not like you need to have like a bullish yeah, exactly But then I went and me and this other guy actually that was around He was also trying to give the dogs water and then I was like, oh these dogs look kind of like There's two right and then the guy was like, yeah, I went inside the restaurant But they don't want to give me a bowl because the only bowls they have is the bowls that they actually have food in People yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know so we only so then you just started pouring a lot
- 44:00[SPEAKER_03]: Porn the water like maybe the dog on catch it and I don't know yeah so then I ended up giving the bottle to the guy that was also trying to help the dog and I was just like yo if you figure something out please take this bottle we gotta go and that's it so I hope they got someone someone someone but yeah that's that's that's the right
- 44:17[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'm trying to think like did anything happen while we were there.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's something happened.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_03]: What happened?
- 44:23[SPEAKER_03]: No, well, nothing happened, but one day we went on a walk.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think he was maybe the third day and that's the first time we took the long walk.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, we went and it was long walk was like 30 minutes.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, but it's a we covered some ground.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, and on the beach on the beach.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: So from our hotel, which is like one of the last hotels on the strip.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_02]: So it's like deep in there.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_02]: We walked up the beach and that's when we were able to see like the beach clubs of all the other hotels because there's no way to really see them from like the main strip.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then, where is the story going?
- 45:03[SPEAKER_03]: No, we were walking just to see, just to see what's up there.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and also just to go for a walk.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, going to go walk.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_03]: I love a good walk on a beach.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_03]: But from a distance, we could see it.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm talking about, like, it felt like it was a mile away, right?
- 45:17[SPEAKER_03]: You could see the, what do you call those like the kite surface?
- 45:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_03]: Surfers.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_03]: And I didn't think.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_03]: We would make it all the way there, because that was pretty far.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm taking photos of Alia, I have like, funny because initially we were just sitting on the beach like reading.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: And then I was like, you know what, I don't want it.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to go back inside and then I was like, why am I going back inside when it's like not dark yet and it's going to be what in the hotel room.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_04]: No, yeah.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: So then I was like, you know, I'm going to go for a walk.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_02]: And then at first we were like, oh, wait, I need to finish this chapter.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, babe, we're going right now.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_02]: So then we ended up just going on this random walk, but it wasn't like planned to be like, oh, let's go on a long walk.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, not at all.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_02]: And then we just ended up keeping going.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_02]: And something about it is interesting, because keeping going, yeah, the grammar.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_02]: And something about a walk on the beach just feels like you can keep going for so long.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_02]: Like you're just like walk and walk and you have the water coming.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: And then you have the different people that are walking on the beach.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: And you have different people that are swimming and then you go look on the left and you have all the people at the resort and you're checking out,
- 46:28[SPEAKER_03]: what date I'm going on over here and by the time you know it's like you've been walking for 30 minutes yeah and the whole time we're walking I had my film camera with me and I was taking photos of just whatever right you know what this is going I don't okay so then I have with so if you know anything about like film camera 35 millimeter you only get 36 shots right on a film on a roll yes so at this point I have maybe 30 when we started the walk or maybe like 28 okay so
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, all right cool, you know, I have like eight shots left or whatever like that, seven, so then we're going I'm taking photos, whatever and this whole time I'm thinking we're not going to get all the way to where we see the the kite surface, right?
- 47:11[SPEAKER_03]: The jumping air stuff like that and across my mind, I'm just like, well, you'd be cool to take photos of them anyway.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_03]: So we walk and then I keep taking photos basically random shit right wasting film
- 47:22[SPEAKER_03]: So then I have like, I don't know, I'm at shot 35 and then I'm just like, I think you took the last shot of it, right?
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was like, oh, babe, you know, because you only always tells me that I don't take photos of him on the film camera.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because you don't.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_02]: You were film camera.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's okay.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_03]: It's okay.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_03]: We'll sew the last one.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, you know what?
- 47:41[SPEAKER_02]: No, I was like, you know what?
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: Let me get a photo.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, but I told you, I said, make sure it's worth it.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_03]: Is this good?
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: Because I didn't have another role on me.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, you know, I hope it's good.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_03]: So then she takes it.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: That shouldn't go a big good y'all.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_03]: You don't think so?
- 47:58[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_03]: Because okay, so now she took it.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm just like, all right, cool, perfect, you know.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_03]: I still hope it was good.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_03]: So then we keep walking now.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_03]: We get all the way to the cat's surface.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_03]: This is like, it felt like two miles from our hotel.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_03]: and we see them, and then these guys were, he was a pretty advanced server.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he looked like he'd been doing this for a minute.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and...
- 48:23[SPEAKER_02]: If you don't know what kite serving is, is somebody is surfing on like a full surf board, is kind of half a bit, and it's more of a rectangle, and then they're clipped in, and then they have a big kite, kind of a, in Romanian, we call it Parapanta.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: And kind of like a crescent, you know, and then, and they pulled onto it and the wind, as I said, it had been, it, it, it was really windy on the beach.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: So they just use all this wind that basically pulls them through the water and they're like, kite surfing and it's really, looks really, it looks really fun.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so this guy came really close to us because it's kind of like you're gliding like you're you're like gliding on the water like you're I don't know Yeah, you're surfing everyone knows what that looks right, but then like you could go fast you can go slow whatever And you're not necessarily going on like a wave.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_02]: No waves weren't the waves would get like kind of big, but they want like surf for waves, you know
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, but you just kind of because of the because of the wind it keeps you just going Yeah, so then you're going no matter what the vibe of the water is and you can also come really really close to the shore Even if the water's not that deep.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so this guy came really close to us and I just watched him I just watched him like You know pass us and I was like the first thing I thought about that should have been the last shot of the film.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's better because he came
- 49:55[SPEAKER_02]: close to the shore many times and he would go like relatively slow and like sort of take his time and he just looked so cool.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_02]: He had a very specific look.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: He had like, you know, very nice tan skin.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_03]: Shout out to your feelings and shout out to your feelings and bro, because this is okay.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like I'm kind of like jumping like in the story, but I want to
- 50:21[SPEAKER_03]: No, so we missed the shots, obviously.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_03]: I wasn't able to take any film photos.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_03]: So, but I was like, you know, tomorrow, we're gonna come back.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_03]: I have to come back.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_03]: I looked at the time, it was around like maybe five, 30.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_03]: I was like tomorrow, who we need to come back.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_03]: I need to get these photos.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know this guy.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know who he is, whatever.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: We won't know if he'll be back here.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I didn't know, but in my head, I'm thinking, like, I hope he's going to be back, but if he's not going to be back, we're going to, I'm going to take photos of someone else doing this.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_02]: You know, especially because we realized that there were many of these kite surfing, like, um,
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: They're kind of like booths, you know, so like any person can just go up to the thing and you can rent the equipment and you either get like lessons or you to go out and they're on your own and there's many of those types of like booths back to back so.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_03]: yeah we didn't know i mean i made sure to come back to this one yeah exactly so then the next day we have a whole day and stuff like that and then we end up actually uh going to a beach club the plan was like let me find the only was on a mission that was on a mission to to get photos of you know he brought two full film roles
- 51:38[SPEAKER_03]: and I brought my life with me.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the plan was, let's figure out where these kite things are, and then let's find a beach club that is nice, not too expensive, that is relatively close to those.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_02]: So then that can be like our home base, and then I can be there.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_02]: tanning, reading, whatever I'm doing, ordering food, drinks, living my best life, and Yoni can like go walk around all these different like kite surfing areas and like take all his photos.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_02]: And that was basically what we did the next day.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's what we did.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think I got like one, we ordered a peanut collada because we really wanted one.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: We said we have to try a peanut collada.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_02]: What did you think?
- 52:25[SPEAKER_02]: You only kind of wanted it to be like more how you see in the movies and like a big glass because you know Frozen the reason why I wanted to get a peanut collada is because it's one of the nights before we saw someone get a big ass Peanut collada Well, no, it was actually the seafood restaurant that I was talking about.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I mean that
- 52:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and they made it look so good and like just Yeah, but then the one we got from the spa we were right was just like a small glass I was like damn bro.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, it wasn't bad, but I don't know I don't love the combination that much of like coconut with pineapple I like it's a separate thing and then we also got a mojito which was really good.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: So I was just tending reading her book and stuff like that and I got my drink.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_00]: You're chilling with me for a little bit.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I was chilling for a little bit but then I was like okay cool because the guys were going but I didn't see the guy from yesterday.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm like, I'm about to go look for this guy and hopefully I can see somewhere else.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_03]: I really like they need to have long hair for some reason for the shot to come out as out one or two.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_02]: But also the thing is because that guy that we saw that first evening like was per person.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_02]: He just looked exactly like the person you would expect to be doing shit.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_03]: So then I'm walking.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I ended up like leaving me and walking like down the beach and guess what I see see the guy from the day before and I was like this because the whole day like from after missed that shot yesterday I kept thinking about that photo and you know if you do street photography or any type of photography that's like super candid and in the moment
- 53:58[SPEAKER_03]: And on film, even if it's not all film, if you missed a shot, if you missed a moment, you know that you can never recreate it, you know that you can never, like, even if you tell the person, hey, can you do that again?
- 54:11[SPEAKER_03]: It's not going to be the same, right?
- 54:15[SPEAKER_03]: That's kind of the beauty about like, you know, this ephotography is that it's that moment, frozen in time forever and that's it.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, so I see the guy again, you don't know how excited that guy is so funny.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_03]: I was just like, bro, I'm going to take this photo.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_03]: So he's going and he's kind of like far.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_03]: I don't have a zoom lens, right?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm using like just a prime lens.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_03]: So he kind of had to get close to where we were.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: to actually get the shot that you wanted.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I just stood there.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't move.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_03]: I was just focused.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I'm not missing this.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_03]: So we made eye contact, but I don't think he recognized me.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_03]: But I'll kind of point it to my camera.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, yo, can I shoot?
- 54:53[SPEAKER_03]: That's when I posted on my story, I was just like, how do you say can I take a photo in Spanish?
- 54:58[SPEAKER_03]: And everybody was like, you have to say, yeah, well, well,
- 55:05[SPEAKER_03]: or something like that?
- 55:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor,
- 55:28[SPEAKER_03]: So then I kind of walk up to him.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_03]: It was kind of like far a little bit.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_03]: So I was like, you, I need to talk to this guy and I need to tell him, yo, I'm taking photos of you.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_03]: So come close to me.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_03]: Like, because when someone knows that, they can work their way.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_03]: They can come closer.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 55:47[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
- 55:48[SPEAKER_03]: So I was like, I got a few shots of him already, but I was like, it can be better.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_03]: And this was only in the with the black or white camera.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_03]: Like I didn't do that with the film.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_03]: So I walk up to him and I was like, you know, bro, I got some photos of you, but, um, and I actually saw you yesterday.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_03]: And he was like,
- 56:05[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, way you were the guy from yesterday I remember I saw a guy with a camera and it was us when we were walking.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_03]: Um, obviously we didn't talk to him that day.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_03]: So then I ended up talking to him for like 20 minutes, I think, where you from, what's your name, what do you do and he's like born and raised in Tulum and he's been doing this, like his whole life, his instructor also, and I told him like, you know, bro, like I need to, I didn't know if he was done that day or
- 56:35[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but I told him just give me a email, give me information and ended up getting like his number and kind of been talking ever since, right?
- 56:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so they've been what's happening.
- 56:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and um, I told him I'm just going to, you know, edit the photos and send them to you.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_03]: So then I thought it was done for the day.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_03]: So I kind of go back, I'm happy I got my photos.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_03]: There may not be the closest one to the trillins, but I was like, you know what, it's okay.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_03]: So then I see him go back in the water.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then what's funny is like this actually ended up being exactly in front of the the beach club that I just like we decided to stay at yeah, so then I Was looking I could see Yoni having his whole ask conversation with the guy you could see me.
- 57:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I was like of course He ended up talking and then of course.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_02]: They're talking for hell alone.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we talked for a minute and yeah He ended up getting back in the water and while he was in the water.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_03]: I was talking to his friend because they were both sharing the thing
- 57:28[SPEAKER_03]: I got to know his friend a little bit and they're both doing this I don't know if they do this every day or not, but Yeah, and then I got so now he knew that I was taking photos But while we were talking I told him I was just like your earlier when I was taking photos
- 57:45[SPEAKER_03]: I was taking photos of you, but he didn't know that.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_03]: So he was like, he thought that I was taking photos of someone else that I knew.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_03]: So while I'm waiting for him to get close, he told me he was trying to get out the way.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_03]: So then I was just like, nah bro, you need to come closer, but obviously there's no way for him to know that.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_03]: I was waiting for him.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, then he came back around and we did it right and yeah, I don't know.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited to see how those photos are Yeah, so here's how those two yeah, I mean 12 they're good Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 58:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, yeah, a really nice guy and we're gonna stay in touch, man.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_03]: So I think next time if I come to Tulum I'm going straight.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna call him in back.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yo Pick me up from the airport, take me somewhere.
- 58:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, he was we ended up not doing some of the things we didn't end up doing into Lume more like the more sort of excursions just because I don't know we kind of wanted to Descendautess keep it chill.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and we didn't end up going to this and not this
- 58:57[SPEAKER_03]: He kept telling me bro do that go to the son of this please up telling you.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_02]: I was just like and I don't know why something about it Just I know it's probably really beautiful.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_02]: You had to get in the water You and you know you only wasn't really trying to get in the water like that Especially with his head and everything.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_02]: I would have but I don't know why I just kind of was like
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: next time next time I feel like I want to be I just want to be a little bit more explorative and do that but it was honestly such a fun time we did it right like we were there for the perfect amount of time to get to like one get get familiar with the areas with like how to do stuff with like the you know ordering the scooter the scooter getting delivered and like how does the scooter work getting comfortable with it
- 59:44[SPEAKER_02]: then like going to town what rose you use like oh there's a lot of one way so shit you know like all these different things and then and then yeah then the next day is like figuring you feel more comfortable it's like what do you want to do today what do we want to go like i don't know i just think being there for fourfold if we have been there for a whole other day we've been too much
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, definitely would have been to mention those people who stayed there for a long time.
- 1:00:14[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't do us it for a whole week, which I don't know how to do.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like whole week, like full weekdays.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like you wouldn't do, I think it's just so cool to go somewhere like this and have like at least just one contact, like of a person that you met.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_02]: Do you mean like so, do you mean when you go?
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_02]: when you go to the place to have a contact or to make one when you're in.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_03]: To make one and then so for next time you have a contact.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this true.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_02]: You feel like you got that contact?
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_03]: No, I feel like I got that contact, but I want you to get one, too.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_02]: Mmm, I feel like it's more of a good thing.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_03]: Really, but do you not care to like meet someone?
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_03]: That's like thumbnail, like a local, because
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it could be cool, but it's like it's something that either happens or doesn't, it's something that I'm like gonna go out of my way to go.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_03]: No, but you have to go out of your, like, I went out of my way to meet this guy.
- 1:01:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, but it was like, for a specific purpose of you taking photos.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_02]: You're checking you taking photos of people, but connects you with people a lot more versus me.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_03]: That's true, but I don't want to say that, I mean, obviously it was for the photos, but then also to, like, I wanted to,
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_02]: You want to talk to him?
- 1:01:27[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I just talked to him, but I kill her.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_03]: This is like a really cool and told me so much about the history of it and where yeah.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was really cool.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_03]: So that's it.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's a two-leam story.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_03]: That's a two-leam story.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_03]: I want to tell you, we have to tell him about when we first got to Mexico City and just the feeling that we kind of had for the first two days.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_03]: We have to, like, in detail, no, no, right now.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_03]: That's so.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, I feel like I'm gonna start with that now.
- 1:01:54[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no, we're gonna tell you guys, but everything is good.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, everything is good, we're feeling good and safe here.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_03]: We had an amazing day today too.
- 1:02:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was such a beautiful day.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_02]: The sun was out, people were on the street, everybody was, you know, we had to just kind of play about year today and really see what was going on.
- 1:02:14[SPEAKER_02]: We were ready to kind of, you know, like change our flight.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_03]: Cause we're leaving on Saturday.
- 1:02:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're here for like a whole week.
- 1:02:20[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing just happened so it was like the basically the first full day that we're in Mexico City and then she goes down you know and of course like us being tourists and stuff is like not really even that is not important but where people that are going to eventually you know leave and all this stuff like going on is affecting the people that are actually you know like living in all these places so it's more it's just like
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_02]: It is really scary, but then it's also realizing that, you know, you still kind of get to be like an outsider out of this and you realize like, how lucky you are that you get to, you know, like, leave, but We'll get into it in a little bit more.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but we're good.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_02]: If you are somebody who like sent us messages on, you know, Instagram, checking that everything's okay and that we're good.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate you.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_02]: We're being smart.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_02]: We're, you know, not leaving the city.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're sticking to, you know, like, known, known areas.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_02]: We would have liked to explore a little bit more, but it's just like it doesn't make sense and it's not really safe to do that right now.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_02]: So we're just going to
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_02]: Be comfortable, not really be out when it's dark out, you know, like the basic, the basic precaution things.
- 1:03:44[SPEAKER_02]: But the city feels safe.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_02]: People are so I just want to say, we didn't even like talk about this, but every single person into loom was so nice.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_02]: All the locals, the people that we talked to
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't know.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_02]: I can't speak to like, I don't know what life is like for somebody to live there.
- 1:04:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think, you know what I'm going to say for somebody who is visiting and is a tourist there to say, life is happy.
- 1:04:15[SPEAKER_03]: No, well, the people we met are the tourists, right?
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_03]: Like the people who came there for vacation.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_02]: No, but I'm also talking about, like, everybody's at the stores and stuff.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's like coffee shop.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_02]: I just think compared to, you know, we've gone to travel a lot.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_02]: We travel a lot last year.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_02]: We went to so many different places and is like, you can just, you know, even being in Mexico City now is like every single person that we interact with.
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_02]: Even though like yeah, it's like in terms of like a service, whether it's in a store or a restaurant, people, you know, it's like the service industry, you kind of have to be nice and stuff, but you can just tell it's so genuine.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_02]: It can just tell people are just being nice and and people are, you know, like,
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_02]: They appreciate you and you're trying to like speak Spanish to with them and I don't know it's just like it's so heartwarming and and beautiful and it's been it's been honest it's so so great being in Mexico and getting to experience this beautiful culture the amazing food and we can't wait to tell you guys
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_02]: about our Mexico City trip because it's very different than to loom obviously.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's like basically being in New York, but in Mexico, in terms of like how big the city is.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's huge.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_02]: So we're gonna talk about that in the next episode as today was technically our second full day and we are here for another four.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_02]: So we got plenty of time ahead to just explore.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_02]: I really wanna go to some museums and stuff.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_03]: I know we already didn't want to go to museums, but... No, I don't mind museums, but when I visit a new place I just wanna be outside, but I just wanna...
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_02]: I just wanna be able to go to a museum for like an hour.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, we can.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like we thought about recording, but then I was just like, we can't be gay.
- 1:06:26[SPEAKER_03]: My mind was not on, on work.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_03]: Anything work related.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_03]: So anyways, that's it for this episode.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_03]: If you got all the way to the end.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for listening.
