- 0:10Speaker 1: Winter insurance. Did I'm true this, I'm a checked out
- 0:14Speaker 1: with insurance? Get a true fans Watts, I've been in
- 0:18Speaker 1: the middle of.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, welcome to Conspiracy the Show. I'm your host,
- 0:36Speaker 2: Adam Todd Brown joining me as co host this week. Ooh,
- 0:39Speaker 2: my favorite co host of all No co host Connor
- 0:42Speaker 2: will be back next week, though I do have a
- 0:45Speaker 2: couple of fantastic guests. However, case in Point Sam Sweets
- 0:49Speaker 2: is here. How's it going?
- 0:51Speaker 1: Hi?
- 0:52Speaker 2: How have you been. It's been a while since you've
- 0:53Speaker 2: been on the show.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Oh, it's been great, just living in America being super check.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah, things are pretty good. Kim Crawl is here also,
- 1:03Speaker 2: I assume you're doing pretty well.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Hi.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel the same. Last night I was like, oh,
- 1:09Speaker 3: I'm so sad all the time, and then I was like,
- 1:12Speaker 3: all right, broadly gestures that so many things.
- 1:16Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, yeah, we're all pretty sad.
- 1:19Speaker 3: What a fun time, what a fun I'm mad? But yeah, yeah,
- 1:24Speaker 3: you just get one life and you're like cool, Like
- 1:26Speaker 3: the peak of my years are spent dealing with this bullshit.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's pretty fucking grim, and we're talking about
- 1:36Speaker 2: another reason why it's so fucking grim right now. This
- 1:41Speaker 2: is a ripped from the headlines episode because hair Trump
- 1:46Speaker 2: just went to Europe and was holding the press conference
- 1:50Speaker 2: that was supposed to be about a trade deal with
- 1:52Speaker 2: Europe and just went on a rant about one of
- 1:55Speaker 2: his favorite topics, win turbines, which he calls wind mills,
- 1:59Speaker 2: which I found out researching this. It's kind of a
- 2:01Speaker 2: slur when it comes to wind turbines. Wind mills mill grain.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Wind turbines produce energy using the wind. Thank you very much.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Thank you for educating.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Yeah, that was great. I really needed I'm here for
- 2:17Speaker 3: As I was reading this, I was just like, I
- 2:20Speaker 3: feel like he hears a fraction of information that's given
- 2:24Speaker 3: to him and then he runs off with it and
- 2:26Speaker 3: kind of makes up. Also, his brain's deteriorating, right, It's
- 2:29Speaker 3: like way worse than it ever has.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I mean, this is so the problem with some people.
- 2:34Speaker 1: You know, my mom, when she was getting old, we
- 2:36Speaker 1: couldn't tell if it was dementia or she was just
- 2:38Speaker 1: taking too many pills because she always did that. And
- 2:41Speaker 1: I feel like with him, it's like where you can't
- 2:42Speaker 1: tell if it's dementia or he's just as dumb as
- 2:44Speaker 1: he always was. Because it's like, how do you see
- 2:46Speaker 1: what the difference is?
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah, because he's always been kind of fucking crazy.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always been off the rails. So how do
- 2:53Speaker 1: you know if we're more.
- 2:56Speaker 3: It feels more crazy right now for like, to me,
- 3:00Speaker 3: he feels just a little bit more like what I mean.
- 3:02Speaker 1: He's gone like literally don Quixote. He's literally screaming at
- 3:07Speaker 1: wind mills. Now it's almost literary of him. Which.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Oh, so this press conference he called wind farms a
- 3:19Speaker 2: con job and said they quote drive Wales loco.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Did he say logo? He said loco.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Because yeah, all the British press loved putting in quotes.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Logo was quoted.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and that sounds like exactly the kind of shit
- 3:36Speaker 2: he would say.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I mean, both of him to speak Spanish in the
- 3:40Speaker 1: country that's created.
- 3:43Speaker 3: It's so embarrassing. It's just so embarrassing, I.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Mean ironic though, because he cares about whales. Now, oh,
- 3:49Speaker 1: look at this big heart, look at his environmentalism showing
- 3:53Speaker 1: we care about the whales mental health. It's not even
- 3:56Speaker 1: killing the whales. It's just really.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Annoying that That is how you know Trump is up
- 4:02Speaker 2: to something. Whenever he says he's doing something because he cares.
- 4:06Speaker 2: There's some other reason he doesn't care.
- 4:08Speaker 1: About Well, she don't care about whales or mental health,
- 4:10Speaker 1: like I don't understand.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, by the combo. During his first administration, I
- 4:17Speaker 2: talk about this all the time. I remember reading a
- 4:19Speaker 2: New York Times article and at the very end it said,
- 4:22Speaker 2: mister Trump is also very concerned about the human rights
- 4:26Speaker 2: situation in Venezuela. And I was like, he's not concerned
- 4:29Speaker 2: about human rights anywhere. We are up to something, and
- 4:33Speaker 2: sure enough, we tried to topple the government of Venezuela
- 4:36Speaker 2: like three times when Trump was president.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Wait, do you think he has a plan for the wales.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah, he's probably trying to topple the whales.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh, underground oil whales.
- 4:46Speaker 3: A lot of the whales are taken out his buddies though,
- 4:48Speaker 3: in their yachts. So maybe yeah, trying to figure out
- 4:51Speaker 3: how to I mean he recently and Fox said something
- 4:53Speaker 3: about how he wants to get Russia out of Ukraine
- 4:56Speaker 3: because he's thinking he probably wants to get into heaven.
- 4:59Speaker 3: He's like, I'm paraphrasing, but it was like, I'd like
- 5:01Speaker 3: to help you praying because I'd like to get into heaven.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Like living here daily around people who root for this
- 5:08Speaker 3: are complacent in this makes people who understand what's happening
- 5:12Speaker 3: feel like they've taken crazy drugs because you know what
- 5:16Speaker 3: I mean, You're listening to stuff and it's like, this.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Is why I don't watch the news anymore. I can't.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I can't take this in on a daily basis.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I haven't heard him speak. If I hear him speak,
- 5:26Speaker 3: I change the channel. I read this stuff, he says,
- 5:29Speaker 3: I will read, but I cannot hear RFK. I can't
- 5:32Speaker 3: hear it all. I cannot that person talk.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It makes me like it does something like to me,
- 5:38Speaker 2: like I like his voice is painful.
- 5:40Speaker 1: It's like tough, like when you hear that brownis brown note.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the one that makes you ship.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah, It's like I do not know about this.
- 5:49Speaker 1: There's a whole south makes you.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It's my RFK Junior.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Like his voice makes me nauseous.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, you know, so ASMR does something positive
- 6:01Speaker 3: to your brain, It doesn't always it hurts like it
- 6:04Speaker 3: makes my brain itchy, like I can't describe how so
- 6:08Speaker 3: same with R.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Okay Junior's a big anti wind turbine guy too, he
- 6:12Speaker 2: seems like he would be.
- 6:13Speaker 1: There's no way they'reonic because these guys are all full
- 6:17Speaker 1: of hot air.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Oh oh, that's it.
- 6:21Speaker 1: I'm done.
- 6:25Speaker 2: So there are apparently a lot of people out there
- 6:27Speaker 2: who believe that wind turbines are a problem. A recent
- 6:33Speaker 2: survey of data from twenty one countries showed that at
- 6:36Speaker 2: least nine percent and maybe as much as thirty one
- 6:38Speaker 2: percent of the population agrees with the statement that man
- 6:42Speaker 2: made climate change is a hoax invented to deceive people.
- 6:46Speaker 2: And if you believe that, you probably believe win turbines
- 6:50Speaker 2: are the enemy, which imagine being scared of the wind.
- 6:54Speaker 2: God damn.
- 6:56Speaker 3: My dad used to go on rants about climate change
- 6:58Speaker 3: and how it was all direct because of how many
- 7:01Speaker 3: deer we have in the world. I wish I remembered
- 7:04Speaker 3: more of the argument, because he did it a lot.
- 7:07Speaker 3: But he died a while ago, and so I'm like, God,
- 7:09Speaker 3: what was the deer argument? But it was like, I'm
- 7:12Speaker 3: dying on this hill. We got to get rid of
- 7:15Speaker 3: the deer. To him, climate change was he was a Republican.
- 7:19Speaker 1: So was he a hunter? No, he wasn't going to
- 7:22Speaker 1: do anything with the deer.
- 7:23Speaker 3: No, he was a man that did not like the
- 7:26Speaker 3: government telling him what to do, so he rigged his
- 7:29Speaker 3: seat belt. He bought a new car, and when the
- 7:32Speaker 3: seatbelt ding ding ding, if you don't have the seatbelt
- 7:34Speaker 3: on would go off, he like rigged it so it
- 7:36Speaker 3: was always on, like always, like plugged in. I don't
- 7:40Speaker 3: know if the seatbelt was always connected, but he wasn't
- 7:42Speaker 3: in it. He was like outside of it. Just because
- 7:44Speaker 3: the government made him wear his seatbelt. He wasn't going
- 7:47Speaker 3: to do it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Man, real rebel flying through the windshield and dying of
- 7:52Speaker 2: traumatic head injury to own.
- 7:54Speaker 1: The libs, right, God, like a real American.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yeah, when he like the cigarette comeanies and I never
- 8:01Speaker 3: really looked fully into this. He was explaining to this
- 8:03Speaker 3: to me this on his deathbed. The cigarette companies they
- 8:06Speaker 3: made like a law that they had to make different
- 8:08Speaker 3: kind of paper that wasn't so fast burning because people's
- 8:11Speaker 3: people were falling asleep and then their houses were burning down.
- 8:15Speaker 3: And he was like, I don't like that because this
- 8:17Speaker 3: paper is bad, blah blah blah. He's dying a cancer
- 8:19Speaker 3: and I don't know, I want to say. Two hours later,
- 8:22Speaker 3: this man fell asleep with a cigarette in his mouth
- 8:24Speaker 3: and almost caught on fire. I had to get it off.
- 8:27Speaker 3: And now, ten years later after his death, I'm like,
- 8:29Speaker 3: I think he was just kind of dumb. I think
- 8:31Speaker 3: he was just dumb. I think that's it.
- 8:33Speaker 1: There's no other that's like a moment in adulthood. I
- 8:37Speaker 1: think for all of us, that first time you realize
- 8:39Speaker 1: your parents were really dumb about something.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I think just in general, that guy was
- 8:43Speaker 3: just pretty dumb, just pretty dumb. And I mean that
- 8:46Speaker 3: nada like when you find that out of someone, you're like, oh, okay,
- 8:49Speaker 3: I'm less mad now, like you can't help it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah, he really didn't know better.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he said the best you could, man, and cancer
- 8:56Speaker 3: took you not.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I think that's why people get so mad, honestly, and
- 9:00Speaker 1: they create conspiracies in general, because they think everyone knows
- 9:05Speaker 1: what's going on. Somebody had a plan, somebody has enough
- 9:08Speaker 1: fairies plan and everyone's in on and everyone knows. A
- 9:10Speaker 1: lot of times it's just just dumb, just just dumb.
- 9:13Speaker 2: But sometimes there's plans also, I know.
- 9:16Speaker 1: What you're talking about, Adams, Stop talking about my plans.
- 9:19Speaker 3: There are no plans here.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I do kind of hate how this story is being
- 9:23Speaker 2: covered because it's just being treated as oh well, conspiracy
- 9:29Speaker 2: theorists believe this and this is why they're wrong, and
- 9:32Speaker 2: no one's really I mean, there's an article we'll cover
- 9:36Speaker 2: later that does, but in a lot of cases, no
- 9:38Speaker 2: one's really pushing back against the actual ripes about wind
- 9:43Speaker 2: farms in wind turbines, which there are some legitimate concerns
- 9:48Speaker 2: that don't involve them driving wales loco. One of them
- 9:52Speaker 2: is that wind energy requires way more critical minerals to
- 9:57Speaker 2: work than fossil fuels, select copper, the shit we mind
- 10:01Speaker 2: for smartphones? Do you want to have smartphones or wind
- 10:04Speaker 2: energy in the future? Everybody?
- 10:07Speaker 1: When did he find a wind wind situation?
- 10:12Speaker 3: Oh? I love that so much.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I didn't say much out of sight They're gonna keep coming.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry, And I don't know.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Much about energy, clean energy.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I know them for it.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I'm not an engineer or a scientist, so I try
- 10:26Speaker 3: to leave it to those people. Right, But isn't solar
- 10:28Speaker 3: kind of the best one? Why aren't we just focusing
- 10:30Speaker 3: on that?
- 10:32Speaker 2: The two limitations people worry about with solar and wind
- 10:35Speaker 2: both are that the sun doesn't always shine and the
- 10:39Speaker 2: wind doesn't always blow.
- 10:40Speaker 3: And we can't harness that yet right, But that's the
- 10:43Speaker 3: thing we can Oh I thought, I like you said,
- 10:45Speaker 3: it didn't exist.
- 10:47Speaker 2: The technology to store excess energy.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Wait, isn't it called batteries?
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, Yeah. That's one of my issues here is
- 10:57Speaker 2: no one's pushing back on shit like that in these articles,
- 11:00Speaker 2: because yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 1: They're just like, well, the wind doesn't blow all the time,
- 11:03Speaker 1: so how are you going to do with that?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah? And the answer is, sometimes the wind is going
- 11:09Speaker 2: to blow so much that it will produce excess energy,
- 11:12Speaker 2: and then you just store that and use it in
- 11:15Speaker 2: those times when the wind isn't blowing enough.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yeah. One of the articles said that like the turbines
- 11:20Speaker 1: in Scotland or whatever, I can talk, I swear that
- 11:26Speaker 1: they would force them to shut off actually when it
- 11:29Speaker 1: was super windy so they wouldn't overload the grid with
- 11:31Speaker 1: too much energy, which seems like not the best use
- 11:34Speaker 1: of that maybe yeah, I don't.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Know, seems like in that situation you'd want to store.
- 11:39Speaker 1: That, yeah, because then when it's not windy enough then
- 11:41Speaker 1: they use they go back to the burning fuels. I'm like, well,
- 11:44Speaker 1: what if when it was really windy you just could
- 11:46Speaker 1: use that extra energy? You use? That? Is it?
- 11:49Speaker 3: I mean, it all just comes down to there's not
- 11:51Speaker 3: a lot of money in sustainable energy, and there's more
- 11:54Speaker 3: money in the other like making money, I mean right,
- 11:57Speaker 3: like these big Yeah.
- 11:58Speaker 1: But that's just because of how the government contracts are
- 12:01Speaker 1: split up.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, because if we contracted solar panels or windmill,
- 12:05Speaker 3: wind turbine. Sorry, it's gonna be hard for me to
- 12:07Speaker 3: switch that up. I've been calling windmills for forty.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Years racist piece of shit. Is it racist or is
- 12:15Speaker 2: it just that I'm pretty sure it's racist, sexist?
- 12:18Speaker 1: All that as wind a racer gender?
- 12:23Speaker 3: Sure, a gender, it's a woman.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Oh fluid, Sam, I'm wind fluid.
- 12:32Speaker 2: There's also concerns about whether wind just produces enough energy.
- 12:37Speaker 2: The biggest onshore wind farm in the US generates an
- 12:41Speaker 2: estimated three point two nine tarawatts per hour of energy
- 12:46Speaker 2: per year, but the biggest nuclear power plant generates thirty
- 12:49Speaker 2: three point seven. I think we all know what that means.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that blows.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Did your by writing A bunch.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Of winds were off the top of my ead If
- 13:01Speaker 1: you can believe.
- 13:01Speaker 3: It, that's talent. That's talent. No matter how hard I try,
- 13:07Speaker 3: I can't write puns.
- 13:09Speaker 1: That's the problem. You're trying trying?
- 13:12Speaker 3: Is that the Okay, maybe I'll just let it loose
- 13:15Speaker 3: and see if puns just naturally come out.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Yeah. I do sometimes wonder if we should be looking
- 13:21Speaker 2: into nuclear energy a little more, because that is I
- 13:26Speaker 2: wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the controversy around
- 13:29Speaker 2: nuclear energy was the same thing, if it was just
- 13:32Speaker 2: fossil fuel companies being I know, you don't want that.
- 13:36Speaker 1: A controversy on nuclear energy is.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Like, yeah, there's kind of a lot of like bad
- 13:41Speaker 3: stuff that comes with that.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I mean real, there's Chernobyl, sure, but Chernobyl was also
- 13:47Speaker 2: kind of a unique incident. Like Three Mile Island is
- 13:52Speaker 2: the famous nuclear reactor meltdown that happened in the United States.
- 13:57Speaker 2: You know how many people died? Zero he died as
- 14:00Speaker 2: a result of the three How.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Many islands died?
- 14:04Speaker 3: How many animals on that island died?
- 14:06Speaker 2: It's not an island, it's just called three Mile Island.
- 14:09Speaker 2: It was.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm very disappointed I picked the three island.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Wasn't there also an island in Japan? And then it
- 14:18Speaker 1: was like washing over other places like radio actors hit.
- 14:22Speaker 2: By a tsunami. So maybe don't put them right on
- 14:25Speaker 2: the edge of the ocean. I don't know, maybe you
- 14:27Speaker 2: have to. I don't know. Never built a fucking nuclear reactor,
- 14:31Speaker 2: what do I know? But I wouldn't be surprised if
- 14:34Speaker 2: there was some propaganda around nuclear energy. Also, I think
- 14:39Speaker 2: it's France still uses a shit ton of nuclear And
- 14:44Speaker 2: I mean, I don't.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Think you're like anything until you've got propaganda around you,
- 14:47Speaker 1: you know.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, who are you if people aren't telling stories
- 14:51Speaker 2: about you?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Yeah, propaganda is just haters for ideas.
- 14:56Speaker 3: That any time someone spreads rumors around me, I'm just
- 14:59Speaker 3: gonna be like or nothing. If you don't have propaganda
- 15:01Speaker 3: about you, it's true.
- 15:03Speaker 1: It's like you know you've made it when you've got
- 15:04Speaker 1: the haters.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that. I'm gonna use that. That's gonna
- 15:07Speaker 3: make me feel better.
- 15:08Speaker 1: There you go.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Wind farms also take up a bunch of land.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Like way more land.
- 15:14Speaker 2: They're huge. That's a problem with solar too, is you
- 15:19Speaker 2: need a whole lot of fucking space to build them.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But with wind farms, you can put that shit in
- 15:25Speaker 2: the ocean.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Also, I feel like they should just figure out how
- 15:29Speaker 1: to you know, multi use space. Can't we do all
- 15:33Speaker 1: these solar panels on a roof, so you're using the
- 15:35Speaker 1: space for multiple things. And can we make the wind
- 15:39Speaker 1: farms like also just cute farms? I don't know. Can
- 15:41Speaker 1: we do something else with the.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Turbines that make them apartments?
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. Make it a six flags I
- 15:48Speaker 1: don't know.
- 15:49Speaker 3: I would like that every six flag should be surrounded
- 15:53Speaker 3: by wind turbines. I love that idea so much.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like it would fit in you know.
- 15:59Speaker 3: Yeah, they kind of look like six flag rides exactly.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Put six flags on each turbine or whatever.
- 16:06Speaker 2: That's the thing. One of the pushbacks people have about
- 16:09Speaker 2: these is, oh, well, they're ugly, right, they make the
- 16:13Speaker 2: horizon look bad. I don't think they're that ugly.
- 16:16Speaker 3: I think I think they're prettier than most of the
- 16:18Speaker 3: stuff we put out.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I mean, I think just saying this could happen to somebody,
- 16:23Speaker 1: maybe not me, just theoretical. But if you drive past
- 16:26Speaker 1: them and you're like tripping, they do look very much
- 16:30Speaker 1: like that scene with all the hammers marching and Pink
- 16:33Speaker 1: Floyd's the wall, and it's very dystopian.
- 16:35Speaker 3: They are scary. I don't think they're ugly. I think
- 16:38Speaker 3: they're kind of scary looking.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's dystopian looking.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm saying they look prettier than other forms of
- 16:47Speaker 2: energy producing technology. But we've all seen the nuclear power plant.
- 16:52Speaker 2: It's Santaofre right.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Those are gorgeous looks like gorgeous. Hell yeah, take my
- 17:00Speaker 3: next scenic vacation to get my It just.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Generates energy from all the fucking boners that's popping, so
- 17:10Speaker 1: that core. Okay, I'm done.
- 17:14Speaker 2: So yeah, the storing excess energy thing seems like something
- 17:18Speaker 2: they can figure out, but I don't know what they're
- 17:20Speaker 2: going to do about how much space this ship takes up.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Who knows.
- 17:24Speaker 3: I mean, the good news is the world's probably gonna
- 17:26Speaker 3: end before we can figure all that out. Earth is
- 17:28Speaker 3: gonna be fine, but the Earth is probably gonna kick
- 17:30Speaker 3: us off before we can figure all that out, so
- 17:32Speaker 3: we probably don't even really need to worry about it.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a tomorrow problem, isn't our ship?
- 17:39Speaker 1: Well?
- 17:39Speaker 2: Then yeah, fingers crossed.
- 17:42Speaker 3: My grandma used to say that anytime you would invite
- 17:44Speaker 3: her anywhere, she'd be like, oh, honey, I'll be dead
- 17:47Speaker 3: by then, and then eventually she was dead by then.
- 17:50Speaker 3: One time, you're really, oh, she was right? She did
- 17:52Speaker 3: die before this.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Promises made, promises kept. So there's also wind turbine syndrome,
- 17:59Speaker 2: which seems like not a real thing, but there are
- 18:03Speaker 2: those among us who believe that living in close proximity
- 18:07Speaker 2: to win turbines can cause all sorts of maladies. I'm
- 18:10Speaker 2: going to read this list in the order that it
- 18:13Speaker 2: was in the source. Here goes those maladies. Congenital abnormality, cancer, vertigo, nausea, autism, ADHD, death, tonitis, stress, fatigue,
- 18:26Speaker 2: memory loss, migrains, sleep deprivation. How do you just sandwich
- 18:31Speaker 2: death in between ADHD and tonightis?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Honestly, that's a very ADHD way to write that list.
- 18:37Speaker 3: But it's also like how every single pharmaceutical commercial, if
- 18:42Speaker 3: you close your eyes and not watch them, like playing
- 18:45Speaker 3: with their dog and going shopping, it is like, yes,
- 18:48Speaker 3: this will save your hearing, but it will definitely, And
- 18:51Speaker 3: then they list all the things and death is very
- 18:53Speaker 3: cutely put in between. It's like a way to be like,
- 18:56Speaker 3: how do to worry about that? But look at this thing.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Look over here, it can cause death or cancer? Wait, yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 2: what was the one before that?
- 19:05Speaker 3: And meanwhile on the screen, it's like a golden Retriever
- 19:09Speaker 3: and two grandparents running through the park having the time
- 19:12Speaker 3: of their lives.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's all that I saw. I was like, wellah,
- 19:16Speaker 3: it's just a way for us to not look too
- 19:18Speaker 3: deeply into it.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 3: We as a society, we have a little attention span,
- 19:22Speaker 3: even if you don't have the ADHD.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah. And that list was very long winded.
- 19:28Speaker 3: God damn it. I think you shouldn't stop until the end.
- 19:32Speaker 3: I'm enjoying it very much. I will see what I
- 19:34Speaker 3: got on the road pressure.
- 19:38Speaker 2: There is shockingly very little scientific evidence to back up
- 19:43Speaker 2: the idea that when turbine syndrome is a real thing.
- 19:47Speaker 2: It seems like a lot of the concern is just
- 19:49Speaker 2: around the noise they make. And even in that case,
- 19:53Speaker 2: the noise they make is called infra sound, which are
- 19:57Speaker 2: sound waves with a frequency below lower limit of hearing.
- 20:02Speaker 1: So this is I'm gonna have a real point. I
- 20:04Speaker 1: can't believe it. But this I was curious about. Is
- 20:07Speaker 1: this maybe the thing that could possibly somehow be connected
- 20:11Speaker 1: to the whales being upset because they have their whale
- 20:14Speaker 1: songs and there is the sound what is disturbing the whales.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I could see that being a thing.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I would think so too, Yeah, because they have a
- 20:23Speaker 3: different frequency, like how cats talk to each other and
- 20:26Speaker 3: we can't hear it. I think about that a lot.
- 20:28Speaker 2: So it seems like this infrasound is what people blame
- 20:32Speaker 2: on all of these symptoms when turbines are alleged to cause.
- 20:36Speaker 2: In twenty twelve, a panel of experts determined to quote,
- 20:40Speaker 2: there is not an association between noise from wind turbines
- 20:44Speaker 2: and measures of psychological distress or mental health problems. It
- 20:48Speaker 2: seems like people are just annoyed by this and that
- 20:52Speaker 2: any symptoms they have are the result of that annoyance.
- 20:57Speaker 2: But as a two thousand and nine Canadian study put it,
- 21:01Speaker 2: annoyance is not a disease. You're just nimby about it.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Not in my backyard.
- 21:06Speaker 1: You know. When I saw that, I was like, isn't
- 21:08Speaker 1: that the pedophile group?
- 21:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, is it nambla nambla.
- 21:14Speaker 3: God.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I'm very nimby about namblo.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Not in my backyard, very much.
- 21:21Speaker 3: So I love that the people think this is what's
- 21:25Speaker 3: causing it, and then experts are like, okay, please listen
- 21:28Speaker 3: to us, please, this isn't causing all of these things.
- 21:31Speaker 3: You're annoyed.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you're just being stressed out and not causing your problem,
- 21:36Speaker 1: and they're like, well, I refuse to.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Calm down till Also, apparently these things used to be louder,
- 21:44Speaker 2: and as technology has evolved, they've gotten quieter, so people
- 21:48Speaker 2: might have had legitimate concerns about it at one point.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I don't know. Sounds like they still get pretty wind
- 21:56Speaker 1: up about that. One wasn't good. I'm sorry. Yeah, you
- 22:00Speaker 1: can't knock them all out of the all winders.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Home run hitters strike out all the time. But it
- 22:06Speaker 2: also seems like this isn't a complete nothing of a concern.
- 22:10Speaker 2: A two thousand and nine Australia report recommended a minimum
- 22:15Speaker 2: of two kilometers between wind turbines and neighboring homes. Also,
- 22:19Speaker 2: in twenty twenty one, a Belgian couple successfully sued an
- 22:24Speaker 2: energy company for one hundred and ten thousand euros after
- 22:28Speaker 2: claiming they suffered health problems including headaches, insomnia, heart irregularities, depression, dizzyness, tonight,
- 22:34Speaker 2: iss there it is again, and nausea caused by six
- 22:37Speaker 2: wind turbines set up seven hundred meters from their home.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Also, I don't think that means that they got all
- 22:44Speaker 3: of those symptoms from the wind. One hundred and ten
- 22:47Speaker 3: thousand euros is not that much money. The company was
- 22:50Speaker 3: probably like.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Just paying something. I mean, it's not like really an
- 22:56Speaker 1: idea that all that also sounds like six flugs. That
- 22:59Speaker 1: also sounds like things it could happen to you from
- 23:00Speaker 1: being at six moncks.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Yes, yes, And if you tried to sue six Legs
- 23:04Speaker 3: for that same stuff, they'd be like, you know what,
- 23:06Speaker 3: I don't want to go to court. Just give them
- 23:08Speaker 3: a couple grand they'll go.
- 23:10Speaker 2: I think this went to court, really, I figured they
- 23:13Speaker 2: just settle. If one couple came forward and was like, hey,
- 23:17Speaker 2: this is real, give me one hundred and ten thousand euros,
- 23:20Speaker 2: how many other people are going to come forward and
- 23:22Speaker 2: be like me too, give me my one hundred and they.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Would want to not go to court because it's less
- 23:27Speaker 1: likely to be like widely publicized.
- 23:29Speaker 2: But it went to court.
- 23:31Speaker 3: That's why I thought it didn't go to court, settle
- 23:34Speaker 3: out of court, give them the money. Then it'll just
- 23:36Speaker 3: kind of go away.
- 23:36Speaker 1: But that would go it'll be like successfully suing somebody.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it went to court.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I mean if I sued one of you and you
- 23:43Speaker 3: gave me four bucks, that still is successfully suing somebody.
- 23:47Speaker 3: I just that's not an more alarming amount of money
- 23:49Speaker 3: proving their point.
- 23:51Speaker 2: It did go to court, but they didn't settle out
- 23:53Speaker 2: of court, so it was like it was the wind apparently.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Okay, And how many windmills were on that journey?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Wind turbines?
- 24:06Speaker 1: Sorry, oh my god, don't sue me.
- 24:09Speaker 2: So then there's also all of Trump's claims about wind turbines.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Let's get into those. The Guardian has a really good
- 24:16Speaker 2: article about this where they do actually push back against
- 24:20Speaker 2: his claims, like the one where he claims it is
- 24:23Speaker 2: the most expensive form of energy. This is a quote.
- 24:26Speaker 2: It is the worst form of energy, most expensive form
- 24:29Speaker 2: of energy. But wind mills should not be allowed end quote.
- 24:33Speaker 2: And one thing the Guardian points out is, yes, right now,
- 24:39Speaker 2: gas energy is cheaper than wind energy. The gas prices fluctuate.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Wind doesn't. So right now gas is cheaper. Next year
- 24:49Speaker 2: it could be twice as much as wind energy. So
- 24:52Speaker 2: that's kind of a weak argument because wind energy prices
- 24:56Speaker 2: are going to remain more stable, I.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Mean until that mad max future where all the rich
- 25:02Speaker 1: guys hoard all the air.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I would not be surprised if we start paying for
- 25:08Speaker 2: air at some time.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I think we pay for water.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Now, so that's their last bastion.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Wrap it up, you know what I mean, Just wrap
- 25:16Speaker 3: it up. We had a good run. We had a
- 25:18Speaker 3: lot of cool things we did the humans I mean.
- 25:21Speaker 2: The Guardian also points out that wind energy is less
- 25:25Speaker 2: expensive to build the nuclear energy, and cheaper to generate
- 25:30Speaker 2: than fossil fuels, so stfu trump next claim turbines drive
- 25:36Speaker 2: whales loco. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
- 25:40Speaker 2: there are no known links between large whale deaths and
- 25:43Speaker 2: ongoing offshore wind activities. It's mentioned that whales could be
- 25:48Speaker 2: disturbed during the construction phase of offshore wind farms because
- 25:52Speaker 2: of the surveys they have to do to map the
- 25:55Speaker 2: seafloor when they build them. But those surveys also happen
- 25:59Speaker 2: with and gas and on a much bigger scale. So again,
- 26:04Speaker 2: bad argument.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I mean, it sounds like the whales are annoyed, which
- 26:08Speaker 1: has been proven in court too.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Maybe they deserve one hundred and ten thousand euros.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Man, you're really salty about that couple getting one hundred
- 26:16Speaker 2: and ten thousand euros.
- 26:17Speaker 3: There's not a life changing amount of money to be like,
- 26:20Speaker 3: we won it's like they just gave that to you
- 26:23Speaker 3: to shut you off.
- 26:23Speaker 2: If someone gave me one hundred and ten thousand. But
- 26:26Speaker 2: I just mean it's not like change my life.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Most like big companies giving out like lawsuit money.
- 26:32Speaker 1: It's like general UK courts like more.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Yeah, they might have limits on that shit.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I guess I'm thinking an American in terms
- 26:41Speaker 3: like I'm thinking my brain. Okay, I'll let I can't
- 26:44Speaker 3: promise all at one hundred and ten. I can't promise
- 26:46Speaker 3: it won't be the last time I mentioned.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Also, hundred euros is definitely more in American money.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but not like yeah, I was right our dollars.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Two hundred thousand dollars. I don't know.
- 26:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I was never educated in America. Don't ask me about numbers. Yeah.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I everything I know about anything I had to learn
- 27:05Speaker 3: and seek out as an adult. Like my education was laughable.
- 27:08Speaker 3: I learned about World War Two for fifteen years.
- 27:12Speaker 1: And that was it.
- 27:13Speaker 2: I'm just coming up with this off the top of
- 27:15Speaker 2: my head, doing the calculations. I'm not sitting in front
- 27:17Speaker 2: of the Internet or anything. But I do believe one
- 27:20Speaker 2: hundred and ten thousand euros is one hundred and twenty
- 27:22Speaker 2: eight thousand, five hundred and twenty eight dollars and seventy
- 27:24Speaker 2: cents in real American dollars.
- 27:27Speaker 3: God, you're a math genius.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I just were're doing better than I thought,
- 27:31Speaker 2: because you know how the way you calculated. I believe
- 27:35Speaker 2: you take the amount of euros, which in this case
- 27:38Speaker 2: is one hundred and ten thousand, and then you add
- 27:40Speaker 2: eighteen thousand, five hundred and twenty eight point seven zero
- 27:44Speaker 2: to it, and that's how you get the American conversion.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I just black out.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I just.
- 27:50Speaker 3: Get back.
- 27:51Speaker 2: I was like, oh, yeah, that wasn't a real thing.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Another claim, wind turbines kill birds. There's the thing. This
- 28:00Speaker 2: is true.
- 28:01Speaker 3: I looked this up and a gentleman who's uh works
- 28:05Speaker 3: with or is part of green Peace in the UK
- 28:09Speaker 3: was talking about wind turbines and the statistic is, yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 3: birds when wind turbines kill birds, But windows kill billions
- 28:19Speaker 3: of birds every year windows and we're not bad at windows.
- 28:23Speaker 1: They also have wind though it seems like a conspiracy
- 28:26Speaker 1: to me.
- 28:28Speaker 3: It all comes back the big wind.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Is coming for the birds.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, cats kill a lot of birds. The amount of
- 28:36Speaker 2: birds cats kill every year, Holy.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Sh as we know, birds are all Chinese biplanes, so.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Led by the pigeons, right, they're the ones that are
- 28:47Speaker 3: in charge of that. Oh, the worst of them, Yeah,
- 28:50Speaker 3: the worst of the birds aren't real.
- 28:52Speaker 2: So when it comes to the bird thing, it's estimated
- 28:56Speaker 2: that wind turbines kill around one point one seven million
- 29:01Speaker 2: birds a year. Cats, on the other hand, one point
- 29:05Speaker 2: three to four billion birds annually in the US alone.
- 29:12Speaker 1: But how many of them were hungry little guys and
- 29:15Speaker 1: they needed a snack.
- 29:17Speaker 3: All of it, and how many of them brought them
- 29:19Speaker 3: to their owners.
- 29:20Speaker 2: It's funny how Republicans all of a sudden become staunch
- 29:23Speaker 2: environmentalists on this one issue. They're like, but the birds though,
- 29:29Speaker 2: It's like, you don't give a shit.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Birds that aren't real.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Yeah, don't most of you not believe in birds too?
- 29:36Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a fake thing.
- 29:38Speaker 3: That's not a real It's like a kid thing. They
- 29:40Speaker 3: care about kids, but only when it comes to their
- 29:44Speaker 3: agenda and their shit, you know, Like it's just it's wow.
- 29:47Speaker 1: The Democrats do that too, though.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Oh, the Democrats.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Also this thing where wind turbines kill birds, it seems
- 29:54Speaker 2: very easy to fix. A company in Norway just started
- 29:57Speaker 2: painting their wind turbines black, and that resulted in seventy
- 30:01Speaker 2: percent fewer.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Wait so because white are birds like, it's a weird cloud,
- 30:06Speaker 1: I'll just fly through it.
- 30:08Speaker 3: It's a cloud.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Birds are fucking stupid. All they got is that they
- 30:12Speaker 2: can fly, I mean stupid.
- 30:15Speaker 1: They can hear you and shit birds, they can hear
- 30:18Speaker 1: the podcasts they're listening.
- 30:20Speaker 3: They are listening.
- 30:22Speaker 1: How many birds subscribers you have?
- 30:24Speaker 3: I have a lot.
- 30:25Speaker 2: If I have any, I want them to cancel. I
- 30:27Speaker 2: fucking hate birds.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Wow.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Next claim turbines only last eight years before you have
- 30:33Speaker 2: to dispose of them like.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Preston plants or presidents. Oh well, not the current one.
- 30:39Speaker 3: We're probably well.
- 30:40Speaker 2: See this one is just not true. When turbines have
- 30:45Speaker 2: a typical life span of twenty to twenty five years.
- 30:48Speaker 2: They're made from ninety six percent recyclable materials. The blades,
- 30:52Speaker 2: though when those fail have to go in landfills. They
- 30:56Speaker 2: can't be recycled in the traditional way, but they have
- 31:00Speaker 2: figured out a way to turn them into cement. Okay.
- 31:03Speaker 2: They've been used to make pedestrian footbridges and barriers for
- 31:08Speaker 2: highway noise, which, by the way, living by a highway
- 31:11Speaker 2: can cause all the same problems living by a wind
- 31:13Speaker 2: turbine Nimby, except real.
- 31:16Speaker 3: I just learned about nimb like twenty minutes ago, so
- 31:19Speaker 3: be using it a lot.
- 31:20Speaker 2: You've never heard that before.
- 31:22Speaker 1: No, I sure haven't imagined either.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I don't know sayings. I don't know if I just
- 31:26Speaker 3: never heard them or my brain doesn't retain them.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I guess I always thought it was a pedophile group.
- 31:34Speaker 1: People saying you're like, oh, oh, yeah, the men and boys.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Yes, I've heard of them.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Another claim they're made in China.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Everything's made in China. Everything's made in China. Fuck off
- 31:47Speaker 3: already about I read this on yeah, and this desk,
- 31:53Speaker 3: probably I'm using.
- 31:54Speaker 1: To do this.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Yeah, about sixty percent of global wind turbine manufacturing happens
- 31:59Speaker 2: in China, but China just dominates manufacturing in most areas,
- 32:04Speaker 2: so no surprise there. And the last claim Trump made,
- 32:08Speaker 2: they're killing us. Any deaths that have been attributed to
- 32:12Speaker 2: wind turbines have been accidents during construction.
- 32:16Speaker 3: It's pre winter, except.
- 32:18Speaker 1: For that one wind turbine that went on a killing rampage.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Reading about that that did the school shooting.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I was gonna say six flags, but school
- 32:26Speaker 3: shooting is much.
- 32:27Speaker 1: More just blew them away.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Yeah, people at six Flags, come on, oh, blew them away.
- 32:34Speaker 2: I got it, I got it.
- 32:37Speaker 3: What I find is it's got to be a weird
- 32:39Speaker 3: sense of power that you can just say anything, and
- 32:42Speaker 3: millions of people are like, Yep, I'm gonna believe that.
- 32:44Speaker 3: He just like what it's like, he said another thing
- 32:46Speaker 3: that's not true. It's like, yeah, that most of the
- 32:48Speaker 3: stuff that comes out of his mouth, I think he
- 32:50Speaker 3: just kind of makes up And then millions of us
- 32:52Speaker 3: are like, yep.
- 32:53Speaker 1: That I mean, isn't that how church works? Though?
- 32:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean faith, it's just some
- 33:00Speaker 2: versions of faith are helpful, in some versions of faith
- 33:03Speaker 2: lead to fascism.
- 33:05Speaker 1: He really us feel like a preacher sometimes. Yeah.
- 33:09Speaker 2: And I feel like that has to be the only
- 33:12Speaker 2: part of his base that is still supporting him, because
- 33:16Speaker 2: if you voted for Trump for actual reasons, like policy reasons,
- 33:21Speaker 2: he's not doing any of the shit he said he
- 33:23Speaker 2: was going to do except deporting a shit ton of people.
- 33:27Speaker 1: But I mean, I feel like people that stay in
- 33:30Speaker 1: abusive relationships or shitty families, like they're just going to
- 33:33Speaker 1: stick with him. They're going to stick with him. Yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 3: And I also think there. We as a society too,
- 33:38Speaker 3: we're not super kind to people who say they're wrong.
- 33:41Speaker 3: We don't allow people to change their minds often right,
- 33:44Speaker 3: well told you, so, you know, I want to be
- 33:46Speaker 3: a dick to you about it, and it's like, well,
- 33:47Speaker 3: I'm trying to learn.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, they're too scared to be right, so they're just
- 33:51Speaker 1: going to stick with it. Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 2: I think that's the flip side of that is a
- 33:55Speaker 2: lot of people are just going to stick with Trump
- 33:57Speaker 2: because they don't want to admit they were wrong. Yeah.
- 34:00Speaker 1: That thing where you've invested so much that you don't
- 34:03Speaker 1: want to back out even though you're losing the some
- 34:07Speaker 1: psychological concepts.
- 34:10Speaker 3: I know what you're talking about, but I don't know
- 34:12Speaker 3: what it's called. But I know what you're talking about.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yeah, like there's something lost whatever, Like you're you've invested
- 34:18Speaker 1: so much time in something that you don't want to
- 34:21Speaker 1: lose that time. So you stay in something that sucks
- 34:24Speaker 1: because you don't want to have lost the time you
- 34:27Speaker 1: already put in. Yeah, and it's already gone.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Which is wild because it's like, well, staying is just
- 34:32Speaker 3: going to waste more time exactly. It's a psychological thing
- 34:35Speaker 3: though with a lot of people, like people will stay
- 34:37Speaker 3: in relationships.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Like you said, it's like a gambling thing too. Yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 1: Like I'll just play these last few hundred because maybe
- 34:43Speaker 1: I'll win it back, even though you're just going to
- 34:44Speaker 1: lose the rest of the money and I've.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Already lost thousands, like evidence has shown me.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's a real thing. I could probably google,
- 34:53Speaker 1: but I'm just gonna let you know. I'm gonna let
- 34:56Speaker 1: the audience google it for themselves. This is an interactive
- 34:58Speaker 1: show now.
- 34:58Speaker 2: So none of the push back against Trump's claims about
- 35:02Speaker 2: wind turbines is stopping the Trump administration from trying to
- 35:07Speaker 2: shut these projects down. His most recent target was something
- 35:10Speaker 2: called the Revolution Wind Project in Rhode Island. Construction started
- 35:15Speaker 2: on that in twenty twenty three and was more than
- 35:18Speaker 2: eighty percent complete. Forty five of sixty five turbines were installed.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Power was expected to start being generated next year, and
- 35:26Speaker 2: then Trump just issued a stop work order on the project.
- 35:30Speaker 2: And again it's Republicans pretending to care about the environment.
- 35:34Speaker 2: The justification for halting the project was to ensure construction
- 35:38Speaker 2: is quote carried out in a manner that provides for
- 35:40Speaker 2: protection of the environment end quote. Shut the fuck up.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I don't care about the environment, No, you sure don't.
- 35:48Speaker 3: And you don't care about saving money for you don't
- 35:51Speaker 3: care about cutting costs, you don't care about states having
- 35:54Speaker 3: their own autonomy, Like you just pick and choose what
- 35:58Speaker 3: suits you. And then people are like, even though it's maddening,
- 36:01Speaker 3: I truly feel like I'm going crazy right now and
- 36:04Speaker 3: I don't know what to do, Like I'm emotionally exhausted
- 36:08Speaker 3: all the time, and I'm like, I don't Yeah, sorry,
- 36:10Speaker 3: that was another tangent. It just makes me so angry,
- 36:13Speaker 3: and that people are still like that alone should make
- 36:15Speaker 3: people go, wait, what what did he do?
- 36:18Speaker 1: Why? Yeah? I think that there weren't enough oil drills
- 36:22Speaker 1: in that construction site and that would be better for
- 36:25Speaker 1: the environment.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeahs oil is great for the environment. Puts oil
- 36:30Speaker 3: rigs up because those are also esthetically pleasing, you forgot, Yeah,
- 36:34Speaker 3: very much, very gorgeous, and don't call any birds or whales.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Revolution Wind would have provided seven hundred and four megawatts
- 36:41Speaker 2: of power, enough for three hundred and fifty thousand homes
- 36:45Speaker 2: each year. Would have reduced carbon emissions by more than
- 36:47Speaker 2: a million tons per year. Also, Connecticut and Rhode island
- 36:51Speaker 2: have some of the highest electricity costs in the country.
- 36:54Speaker 2: That's interesting they were counting on this project to ease
- 36:57Speaker 2: that situation up a bit.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Is it just because the cold? Why do they so much?
- 37:02Speaker 3: Is that dumb? I don't know.
- 37:03Speaker 2: No, I that I am the right person to ask,
- 37:06Speaker 2: but I don't know.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Just knowing people from there, I think it's the cold,
- 37:11Speaker 1: but I'll si dagenous be comfortable.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Maybe is it humid too, like in the winter and
- 37:16Speaker 3: summer summer. Yeah, it's just like their extreme weather.
- 37:21Speaker 1: They have to use more, but it's extreme other But
- 37:24Speaker 1: these are also like very waspy, upper class, upper middle
- 37:28Speaker 1: class people that are going to be pumping that fucking
- 37:31Speaker 1: air conditioner. Like there's not like people in cabins that
- 37:35Speaker 1: are going to rough it. Yeah, in the woods of Connecticut.
- 37:39Speaker 1: This is my experience with Connecticut.
- 37:42Speaker 3: This topic has made me realize how very little I
- 37:45Speaker 3: know about where we get our power from and how
- 37:49Speaker 3: much power is and what I don't This made me
- 37:52Speaker 3: feel really smart. I'm joking.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Go on, So Trump is obviously not concerned about the environment.
- 38:01Speaker 2: He's never concerned about anything, like I said at the
- 38:05Speaker 2: beginning of the show, And I think We've done an
- 38:08Speaker 2: episode about this in the past, because there's a documentary
- 38:11Speaker 2: about it that is fascinating. This is all about a
- 38:14Speaker 2: fucking golf course in Scotland. He bought property in Scotland
- 38:20Speaker 2: in two thousand and six and promised to build the
- 38:23Speaker 2: quote world's greatest golf course on it. But shortly after
- 38:27Speaker 2: making that announcement, he learned that a plan was in
- 38:29Speaker 2: place to construct an offshore wind farm nearby. And he
- 38:33Speaker 2: was not happy because he thinks wind farms are ugly
- 38:37Speaker 2: and that people would not want to come visit his
- 38:39Speaker 2: golf course if that wind farm was there. So he
- 38:42Speaker 2: fucking sued, took it all the way to the UK
- 38:46Speaker 2: Supreme Court and they finally rejected his suit, and so
- 38:52Speaker 2: this wind farm was built. It's right in eyeshot of
- 38:56Speaker 2: his golf course, and ever since he has been on
- 39:00Speaker 2: a rampage about when turbines is this like.
- 39:04Speaker 3: The thing where everyone's convinced all of this hit the
- 39:06Speaker 3: presidency and everything he's doing is because Obama made fun
- 39:09Speaker 3: of him, like in the.
- 39:10Speaker 2: Middle of the White House correspondence correspondenceent.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Yeah, like how they're like this man just like something
- 39:16Speaker 3: doesn't go his way and he's just well, I'm.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Gonna well, he is like a walking Ubris.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that's Trump's whole vibe. And that's what
- 39:25Speaker 2: people were saying if he got a second term, that's
- 39:29Speaker 2: all it was gonna be, was him fucking exacting revenge
- 39:32Speaker 2: on the people he feels like have wronged him. I mean,
- 39:35Speaker 2: exactly what the fuck he's doing.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Yeah, as somebody though that is a big fan of
- 39:42Speaker 1: mini golf. What better place than a golf course for
- 39:45Speaker 1: a windmill. It's a match made in heaven exactly.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I tried to look up some more stuff about the Scotland,
- 39:54Speaker 3: his Scotland golf course and the windmills, but really all
- 39:57Speaker 3: that came up was that he has such a bad
- 40:00Speaker 3: stench that nobody wants to golf next to him. That's
- 40:02Speaker 3: literally across the board. I saw like six videos were like, yeah,
- 40:05Speaker 3: he smells so bad that.
- 40:07Speaker 1: No one knows to be a round down wind of him.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:11Speaker 3: But I was like, why can't I find anything about
- 40:13Speaker 3: this other than that Trump smells bad? And why isn't
- 40:16Speaker 3: that ever talked about?
- 40:17Speaker 1: Claris?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Well, there's a documentary about it called You've Been Trumped
- 40:22Speaker 2: that is all about his dispute with Scotland over this
- 40:25Speaker 2: golf course, and it's fucking wild.
- 40:28Speaker 1: I feel like someone should have a Banksy moment and
- 40:32Speaker 1: just put like fake winterbines outside of all of his
- 40:35Speaker 1: golf courses.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Oh, that'd be so fun.
- 40:38Speaker 1: It's so cute. Go to golf like Florida. Let's go.
- 40:41Speaker 3: I mean, all we have now is just watching him
- 40:44Speaker 3: get upset and look like a fool.
- 40:45Speaker 1: That's what she was always like. When he's speaking, just
- 40:49Speaker 1: hold up a win turbine in the back of the crowd.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I just want them to haunt him. You know.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Apparently you can watch You've Been Trumped on Apple TV. Oh,
- 40:58Speaker 2: and I highly recommend it. It's very interesting. It explains
- 41:02Speaker 2: a lot, and that's a lot of Trump's, like I said,
- 41:05Speaker 2: his second term, it's all been about fucking retribution. I
- 41:09Speaker 2: did an episode of this podcast a long time ago,
- 41:12Speaker 2: and ESPN just recently put out a podcast with the
- 41:17Speaker 2: exact same premise. It's fine, I shouldn't have put mine
- 41:19Speaker 2: behind a paywall, but it was about how Trump's presidency
- 41:22Speaker 2: seems like it could just be revenge against the NFL.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Also, he's like dumb count of money crysto.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Yeah. He at one point told someone I don't remember
- 41:33Speaker 2: who that if he wasn't allowed to buy the Buffalo Bills,
- 41:36Speaker 2: he was going to run for president and.
- 41:38Speaker 1: The count of money Crisco and I'm gonna call him
- 41:40Speaker 1: that now.
- 41:42Speaker 2: And yeah, the NFL didn't let him buy in, and
- 41:46Speaker 2: he's been on a fucking rampage against them too.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Why the Bills because he's from New York.
- 41:52Speaker 2: I think they were for sale at the time.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Probably, okay, because I'm like, the Bills are. I mean,
- 41:57Speaker 3: they're all right now in the last couple of years,
- 41:59Speaker 3: but argue, arguably they're one of the worst. Like in
- 42:01Speaker 3: the span of NFL history.
- 42:03Speaker 2: They went to four Super Bowls in a row in
- 42:05Speaker 2: the nineties.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Have they ever won a Super Bowl? When's the last
- 42:08Speaker 3: time they went to the Super Bowl?
- 42:10Speaker 2: I don't think they've won one.
- 42:11Speaker 3: They usually shot the bed in the playoffs.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Your whole argument just now was that they're like historically
- 42:16Speaker 2: always bad, and they're not.
- 42:18Speaker 1: They're not.
- 42:19Speaker 2: They've been like historically good in a lot of cases.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Okay, also sports, Yeah, yeah, I know about this.
- 42:28Speaker 3: So did he have the Steve By Is that the
- 42:31Speaker 3: happy Gilmore where he called him and said sorry? Or
- 42:34Speaker 3: was it the other one where he went to elementary school.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Forgive me, I don't. I did not see the new
- 42:38Speaker 3: Happy Gilmore and I, for the life of me, cannot
- 42:41Speaker 3: remember Billy Matt. I think they're the same movie. But
- 42:43Speaker 3: you know how Steve has that list and then he
- 42:47Speaker 3: calls him and he's like, I'm so sorry, I was
- 42:48Speaker 3: so mean. You do you think Trump has that list?
- 42:50Speaker 3: The NFL? Like why he's ran for president is that
- 42:53Speaker 3: he has all this like, oh, you have.
- 42:55Speaker 1: A kill list like a school shooter within a notebook
- 42:58Speaker 1: with people's names ext one hundred percent.
- 43:02Speaker 3: And then when he even soone apologizes, he puts on
- 43:04Speaker 3: lipstick after he crosses off the name. That's what I picture.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Republicans have already said they got that list, the.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Same what they do, they got the burn book.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I mean, they have a list. We're probably all fucking
- 43:15Speaker 2: on it.
- 43:16Speaker 3: Ah. I would be so proud to be on that list,
- 43:19Speaker 3: Like you know who I am?
- 43:22Speaker 1: Do I just fall under women and Jews? Am I
- 43:27Speaker 1: just looped in?
- 43:28Speaker 3: Likely? Likely? That's so it's the.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that is our episode. We
- 43:36Speaker 2: did it, Kim, Sam, thank you both so much for
- 43:39Speaker 2: doing the pod.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Hey, thank you?
- 43:41Speaker 2: Do we have to plug before we get out of here.
- 43:44Speaker 2: I would like people to listen to in your area
- 43:47Speaker 2: and What in the World and the Monday Show that
- 43:49Speaker 2: are all in the same. You don't even like this show, feed,
- 43:53Speaker 2: go listen to those. That's it. Sam, What do you
- 43:55Speaker 2: want to plug?
- 43:57Speaker 1: I want to plug up all the drafts with this wind.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I don't want to end on that, but
- 44:02Speaker 1: I have to.
- 44:03Speaker 3: That was a good That was a good last one.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Really try and I should have free written these. I

- 44:47Speaker 1: the Remix Room on September. Third of this will be
- 44:50Speaker 1: out then.
- 44:51Speaker 2: I don't know, Kim what do you want to plug?
- 44:53Speaker 3: That was fantastic that you remember that all off of
