[SPEAKER_00]: how one minute can change your life forever.
1:55

1:56
[SPEAKER_00]: God, we thank you for this moment, this minute that we have together.
2:02
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for your power that you've given to us.
2:05
[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you that you protect us, that you lead us, that you guide us every single day.

[SPEAKER_00]: I thank you for their ears, their heart and their minds for these next few moments.
2:22
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm asking you to use me to speak to them and your name, a man.
2:28
[SPEAKER_00]: How 60 seconds can change your life forever.
2:33
[SPEAKER_00]: Like and happen in one minute.
2:39
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, what would you do if you had one minute to change your life?
2:44
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there are several different examples in life's history of how a minute, a second, a moment changed somebody's life for good and there are other examples about how a split
3:14
[SPEAKER_00]: In the U.S. right now, the latest statistic tells us that a car accident happens every 60 seconds across the nation.
3:25
[SPEAKER_00]: We are told that house fires double in size, every 30 to 60 seconds.
3:32
[SPEAKER_00]: According to glass door, the average hiring manager makes a decision about a candidate within the first minute of the interview.
3:44
[SPEAKER_00]: So it is also showing that 70% of people decide whether to accept or decline a marriage proposal within the first few moments, the first minute understanding this, a quick decision or a decision in under a minute can alter the course of your life for the rest of your life.
4:15
[SPEAKER_00]: thought I was going to be smart, and this is a transparent moment.
4:22
[SPEAKER_00]: Thought I was going to be smart and make a quick dollar.
4:26
[SPEAKER_00]: And I decided that I was going to, this is 25, 26 years ago, I was going to take a ride with somebody who I knew had something in their car that was illegal.
4:39
[SPEAKER_00]: But I figured, hey, I just go ride with them and they're going to split some of the proceeds with me.
4:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
4:47
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I didn't package anything up.
4:49
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't cut anything.
4:50
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't give anything.
4:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I'm just in the car.
4:54
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
4:54
[SPEAKER_00]: If need be, if they get sleepy, I'm a second driver.
4:57
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
4:59
[SPEAKER_00]: I remember one time, um, going to do that twice.
5:03
[SPEAKER_00]: And the second time, one minute changed my life.
5:07
[SPEAKER_00]: We're pulled over by a cop.
5:10
[SPEAKER_00]: excuse me.
5:12
[SPEAKER_00]: And in being pulled over by the cop, of course, we had to present all these documents with inclusive of the license and registration.
5:22
[SPEAKER_00]: The cop came back to the car and I don't really like cop sounds a bit derogatory, right?
5:29
[SPEAKER_00]: The police officer, because there are some great officers and there are some officers who need some support, right?
5:38
[SPEAKER_00]: But this officer came back to the
5:41
[SPEAKER_00]: But you can see that he had a look of suspicion.
5:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Never was disrespectful, never caught us outside of our name, never.
5:51
[SPEAKER_00]: Never did any of those things that hobal things that we hear about.
5:54
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm blessed that they didn't happen to me.
5:57
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
5:59
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he says, gentlemen, I need to step out the car.
6:03
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have to search the car.
6:07
[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
6:09
[SPEAKER_00]: We, understanding what's in the car, right?
6:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Get frantic, get kind of afraid in the moment.
6:16
[SPEAKER_00]: And my friend was about to say something.
6:18
[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know what he was going to say, but I can almost guarantee you knowing him, he was going to say something that's going to make our situation worse.
6:28
[SPEAKER_00]: I can, if I was a badding person, I would put money on that.
6:32
[SPEAKER_00]: He was gonna say something that was gonna jam us up further, that was gonna, yeah, things are gonna go, hey, why, I promise you, if he was able to get that statement out.
6:41
[SPEAKER_00]: But they'll always say, look, that's been getting out the car.
6:43
[SPEAKER_00]: My firm is about to say, he said, oh, hold on.
6:45
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm already always on.
6:48
[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to his radio, he radios back, tells them he's on the way, and there was a wreck or something somewhere else that was more dire than what was happening outside of the road with us.
7:00
[SPEAKER_00]: He said, gentlemen, I want to let you go this time, but I bet now see you again.
7:14
[SPEAKER_00]: could have gone one way or another.
7:17
[SPEAKER_00]: He let us go.
7:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, bro, take me to the nearest that I had no money.
7:21
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, forget the airport, take me to the greenhouse station.
7:24
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going back to the house.
7:27
[SPEAKER_00]: No, man, just keep on right.
7:28
[SPEAKER_00]: No, nope, nope, nope, nope.
7:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not doing this.
7:31
[SPEAKER_00]: No more money is not that good.
7:33
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I can't go to jail.
7:36
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not built like that.
7:38
[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot go into anybody's county jail, prison, federal, take me to the Greyhound station.
7:45
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, forget that I walk to the Greyhound.
7:47
[SPEAKER_00]: I walk to the Greyhound station.
7:50
[SPEAKER_00]: That moment changed my life.
7:52
[SPEAKER_00]: In that moment, I said to myself, you know what, this is not worth it.
7:56
[SPEAKER_00]: A moment, a minute,
8:01
[SPEAKER_00]: can have implications on your life for the good or the bad, and you never ever know what the next 60 seconds will look like.
8:14
[SPEAKER_00]: So single minute has a potential to shift your life, to shift your perspective, to shift your beliefs, and also inspire you to take action.
8:32
[SPEAKER_00]: In 60 seconds, sometimes we have the opportunity to realize or to experience the power of realization.
8:43
[SPEAKER_00]: You can experience, you can have an epiphany, you can have a moment of revelation.
8:50
[SPEAKER_00]: In 60 seconds, things in your life can change.
8:54
[SPEAKER_00]: And I promise you, I don't know who this episode is for, but if you're out there, thank God, you've got another six seconds to breathe, and sometimes in the next 60 seconds, the power of realization can take over you, you can have any piphany, I can change your life.
9:15
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes in 60 seconds, we have emotionally charged experiences.
9:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes we witness a random act of kindness,
9:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes we are, in fact, I don't go very much to Starbucks.
9:31
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, shout out if you do go, I don't go very much.
9:37
[SPEAKER_00]: And I very rarely have gone through the drive through.
9:44
[SPEAKER_00]: And now, you know, I've gone through the drive through a couple of times, but this particular time, it never happened to me before.
9:49
[SPEAKER_00]: I get to the window.
9:51
[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
9:52
[SPEAKER_00]: As if ordered something.
9:53
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it was, but I do know, um, check this out.
9:57
[SPEAKER_00]: I do know that there was a cheese Danish in the bag.
10:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me on that.
10:01
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
10:02
[SPEAKER_00]: What kind of drink I had, um, but, but those cheese, Danishes at Starbucks.
10:08
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what they put in them, but I, I, yeah, I appreciate them.
10:13
[SPEAKER_00]: So I play some order at the thing, the speaker, then I go to the window to pick up my order.
10:21
[SPEAKER_00]: I reach into my pocket.
10:22
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm handing my car to the attendant, and they say, oh, somebody in front of you paid for your items.
10:34
[SPEAKER_00]: It floored me.
10:34
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like, they don't know me.
10:36
[SPEAKER_00]: What?
10:38
[SPEAKER_00]: I said are you sure I don't want to drive off and somebody come flag me down to you sure that that person in that white van in front of me they pay They pay for me Yeah, somebody they pay they pay for you in that moment because I didn't it didn't take long
10:56
[SPEAKER_00]: In that moment, the van is gone.
10:58
[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't catch up with the van.
10:59
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I hadn't gotten my items yet.
11:01
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I was at the window to get my items.
11:03
[SPEAKER_00]: I hadn't gotten my items yet.
11:04
[SPEAKER_00]: So I said, you know what?
11:05
[SPEAKER_00]: The best thing I can do right now is to do this, is to pass it on.
11:11
[SPEAKER_00]: What I can do right now is moment.
11:12
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so grateful that this person paid for my two items that my drink and my cheese Danish.
11:18
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, well, let me pay for the person behind me.
11:20
[SPEAKER_00]: How much is their order?
11:23
[SPEAKER_00]: She says, oh, let me pull up the do-do-do-do.
11:25
[SPEAKER_00]: And she says, something like 30, I was like, oh my goodness, my meal was, my meal was like $9.32, but they got.
11:32
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, forget it, I don't care what it, okay, here it is.
11:34
[SPEAKER_00]: Here's my card, I'm paying for the person behind me.
11:37
[SPEAKER_00]: And in that moment, I decided that random acts of kindness would be a part of my repertoire now.
11:44
[SPEAKER_00]: In my toolkit, every now and again, I will find myself doing what was done for me at Starbucks.
11:52
[SPEAKER_00]: And that is passing the blessings on.
11:55
[SPEAKER_00]: I decided to, hey, in that moment, in that six or seconds, I was at the draw-through window and between what happened with regards to the transaction and my attempt to pay for my meal, I said, you know what, wow, there's something here.
12:12
[SPEAKER_00]: Because when I got my card back, I didn't look back to see their reaction of the new car of the car behind me, I should say.
12:20
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't slow down and say, let me see if they're going to give me a hand or a wave.
12:27
[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't do it for that.
12:30
[SPEAKER_00]: Hear me out, prior to that, at oftentimes engaged in helping people out, but I expected to thank you, I expected some kind of recognition.
12:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, but probably the time I have, man, I had, I had, I had given people, I'm all kind of support, but I wanted to acknowledge it.
12:58
[SPEAKER_00]: In that moment, not only did I grow a bigger heart for kindness or for acts of kindness, in that split moment, I was also almost relieved.
13:10
[SPEAKER_00]: I could almost left my body.
13:13
[SPEAKER_00]: the need now for individuals to pat me on the back and say, hey, your kind act was noticed by the world.
13:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was I was no longer burdened with the fact that man outgated his person $20 that didn't even say thank you.
13:30
[SPEAKER_00]: I'll forget it.
13:31
[SPEAKER_00]: I listen, I know why I did it.
13:34
[SPEAKER_00]: And I hope that my kindness will be a blessing to their life.
13:37
[SPEAKER_00]: So let me ask you, what's your motivation?
13:39
[SPEAKER_00]: What's your motives?
13:41
[SPEAKER_00]: Check yourself before you record yourself.
13:43
[SPEAKER_00]: What's your motive when you help and support people?
13:46
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you doing it from a selfish place?
13:50
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you doing it from a place of you need some kind of validation?
13:56
[SPEAKER_00]: Or are your intentions pure?
14:02
[SPEAKER_00]: See, because that moment, in that moment, my intentions have, they were shifted from being filled with selfish reasons as to why I needed to be recognized.
14:14
[SPEAKER_00]: To now, I'm saying, no, I'm doing this from a pure place.
14:17
[SPEAKER_00]: I know, I think I get uncomfortable now when people say, thank you.
14:22
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know, problem.
14:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead.
14:26
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, fast forward last few weeks ago now.
14:31
[SPEAKER_00]: wife and I were going to we're going to we're going to vacation to celebrate our anniversary yeah yeah do do do do do do do you yeah angle thing but we were going we were going to celebrate our anniversary and we were running late yeah or we were the margin of reslium
14:56
[SPEAKER_00]: And I travel quite a bit and I rarely have to check up.
15:00
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I never really check a bag because my trips don't last that long.
15:04
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in and out, so forth and so on.
15:07
[SPEAKER_00]: But we were going for a week.
15:10
[SPEAKER_00]: So we brought a personal bag and one chicken bag that included both of our larger items.
15:19
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're trucking it.
15:21
[SPEAKER_00]: We're trucking it.
15:21
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going we're going to the counter.
15:23
[SPEAKER_00]: We we fly American is is mainly the airline.
15:27
[SPEAKER_00]: We fly.
15:28
[SPEAKER_00]: We're trucking it.
15:28
[SPEAKER_00]: We're trucking it.
15:30
[SPEAKER_00]: And There's some gentlemen outside, but although we have a little bit of status.
15:37
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have flagship status.
15:41
[SPEAKER_00]: We got a little bit of status on Americans, it flies so much, but we don't have what they say.
15:46
[SPEAKER_00]: We ain't got big boys status.
15:49
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't, we don't fly first class and all that.
15:52
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have big boys status.
15:55
[SPEAKER_00]: But the gentleman saw us kind of like in a pickle and he said, oh man, let me help you out.
16:05
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I was about to block the blessing.
16:06
[SPEAKER_00]: I was about to say, oh, now be good.
16:08
[SPEAKER_00]: My wife was like, oh, no, we're not good.
16:10
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you help us?
16:13
[SPEAKER_00]: Give me your bag.
16:14
[SPEAKER_00]: So it gets the bag and he takes us to the counter.
16:18
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to go get in line.
16:19
[SPEAKER_00]: He said, no, he moved the rope and said, you come here, get to the front of the line.
16:23
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go talk to the moon.
16:24
[SPEAKER_00]: Long story short, he ended up getting us on the plane, getting us our bag, the priority tag on the bag.
16:32
[SPEAKER_00]: And I see his leaving.
16:33
[SPEAKER_00]: I dig in my pocket, gave him the only thing I had in my pocket.
16:37
[SPEAKER_00]: Hand it to him.
16:38
[SPEAKER_00]: He looked at me, said, thank you, man.
16:41
[SPEAKER_00]: He's the only thing I ask you is this.
16:43
[SPEAKER_00]: Can you pass it on?
16:46
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, oh, you don't want the money?
16:47
[SPEAKER_00]: He said, no, no, no, no, thank you for the tip.
16:50
[SPEAKER_00]: But can you pass the kindness on?
16:52
[SPEAKER_00]: Would you be so kind, asked you, if somebody else needs you, like the way you need to me, can you just be, can you, can you be a beacon of hope, can you be a beacon of light and pass on what I gave you?
17:03
[SPEAKER_00]: I said, man, no problem.
17:08
[SPEAKER_00]: No problem whatsoever.
17:10
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I will gladly joyfully pass it on, so we think about 60 seconds and that interaction between my wife and I and the gentleman who was supporting us with American Airlines.
17:32
[SPEAKER_00]: That exchange was about 30 seconds.
17:36
[SPEAKER_00]: To get from where we were checked in to the counter, he's able to get it to about a 492 seconds.
17:44
[SPEAKER_00]: So 30 to 90 seconds in that moment was powerful enough to get us from the outside in terms of we were going to miss our flight.
18:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Opportunity for us to get on the flight, be a blessing to somebody and in turn him being a blessing to us.
18:10
[SPEAKER_00]: There's power in moments.
18:17
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't take time that we have on this earth for granted.
18:23
[SPEAKER_00]: So every morning, one
18:27
[SPEAKER_00]: As I take 60 seconds to talk to me, yeah, of course I take longer time to talk to God in the morning.
18:36
[SPEAKER_00]: But after I talk to God and after I hear back from Him, I take a moment, I look in that mirror, and I spend no less than 60 seconds talking to Eugene Hamilton.
18:53
[SPEAKER_00]: talking and Eugene Helmison about what he's going to do today, talking and Eugene Helmison about his mindset today, talking about to Eugene Helmison about who he is going to intentionally be kind to today, talking to Eugene Helmison in that 60 seconds about how he's going to do some things for his family that day that he didn't do yesterday, 60 seconds can be life changing.
19:18
[SPEAKER_00]: Because in 60 seconds, you can hear some inspiring words or having inspiring in, having inspiring encounter as I just shared with you.
19:26
[SPEAKER_00]: In 60 seconds, you can learn something new.
19:32
[SPEAKER_00]: In 60 seconds.
19:35
[SPEAKER_00]: You can learn something or gain some kind of insight that will be of such benefit to your life if you apply it, things will be totally different for you.
19:47
[SPEAKER_00]: In 60 seconds, you can confront fear and limiting belief in 60 seconds, things in your life can turn from one way to another way.
20:00
[SPEAKER_00]: So my challenge in charge is when we think about the power of 60 seconds, when we think about the fact that one of the things that we do not get back on this earth is time.
20:15
[SPEAKER_00]: You don't get, you don't get time back, ever since you've been born, you've been losing time.
20:23
[SPEAKER_00]: You've been on the clock, I've been on the clock and the longer we live, the more time we lose.
20:31
[SPEAKER_00]: But losing time is not, it's not synonymous with wasting time, time is going to, time is
20:42
[SPEAKER_00]: But are you properly using the time that you have in front of you?
20:48
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you properly stewarding the time that you have?
20:53
[SPEAKER_00]: Are you properly managing the time that you have?
21:01
[SPEAKER_00]: Time is valuable.
21:04
[SPEAKER_00]: Time is important.
21:13
[SPEAKER_00]: time can work against you.
21:16
[SPEAKER_00]: Let me, let me, let me recap this way.
21:20
[SPEAKER_00]: Not gonna be long a day.
21:22
[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, we just about done.
21:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Want you to challenge yourself this week and beyond to take 60 seconds every day to pour into yourself.
21:40
[SPEAKER_00]: If you have those that are dependence, those that look up to you, those that you're partner with in your home, try to spend 60 seconds pouring into them.
21:55
[SPEAKER_00]: And then allow something to be poured back into you, from God.
22:06
[SPEAKER_00]: from a vessel that he may use, from music that you might listen to that may be a lifting, that will take you to the very next level.
22:18
[SPEAKER_00]: 60 seconds can change your life.
22:24
[SPEAKER_00]: It changed mine.
22:26
[SPEAKER_00]: Let it be the same for you.
