- Adam Rutz: Your work routine should be built around the activities that are gonna move you forward the most. This is where the majority of your output should come from throughout the week. Your AM routine gets you ready, your PM routine helps you recover, but your work routine is where you actually put in the reps that are gonna move you closer to your actual goals. And that work is gonna look a lot different depending on what it is that you do. If you're an athlete, your work routine is not just practice or competition. It's everything around practicing competition that prepares your mind and body to compete at the highest level possible. That might mean getting mental imagery work in before you train, practicing your breathing routine so you know how to control your breath consistently while you compete, getting soft tissue work in, doing your mobility, taking care of your recovery, getting the extra reps before or after practice. The best athletes understand that preparation goes way beyond the scheduled workouts. A lot of the separation is going to happen in the work that nobody's forcing you to do. If you're a business owner, your work routine might look a little different. It might look like pouring into your team, coaching your employees, developing your leaders, training, having conversations and strengthening your culture. Because the stronger your teamwork is from top to bottom, the stronger your organization has the opportunity to become. If you're in sales, your work routine might be. Prospecting, following up, building new relationships, strengthening existing relationships, creating new opportunities, finding ways to improve your craft. Those are the activities that probably have the greatest chance of producing the results that you want. So take a look at your day and ask yourself, how much of my time is actually being spent on the work that moves me forward? Because the bulk of your day should be spent there. We talk about all the time about how work wins. And the more quality work that you can consistently put into areas that matter the most, the better positioned you're gonna be to reach your actual goals. But there's an important distinction in all of this. We're not just trying to work hard. We want to work hard and work smart. So identify the highest value activities in your world, build your work routine around them, and then relentlessly execute those because hours alone. Don't create greatness. Great work done consistently with intention is what's going to create that greatness that you're chasing. Mindset, process, discipline, execution, that's mental performance daily.
