- 0:00Welcome back to Storytime with Lucky Podcast.
- 0:04Today we're going to read Hide Me Kipper, McInkpen.
- 0:09Kipper was sitting on the first page of his book, wondering what sort of book
- 0:15it would turn out to be when a little squeaky mouse came,
- 0:22running across the page. Are you in the story? said Kipper.
- 0:27But the little squeaky mouse said nothing. It just ran straight across the page
- 0:31and into the folly bit in the middle of the book.
- 0:37Um, I've been in lots of books, said Kipper, but I've never been in there.
- 0:44Go away, he whispered the little squeaky mouse from inside the foliage, or he'll find me.
- 0:51Um, who'll find you, said Kipper.
- 0:55Shh, said the squeaky mouse.
- 0:59Kipper didn't see the cat arrive. Have you seen the little squeaky mouse, it said.
- 1:04Kipper couldn't think what to
- 1:06say, so he just waggled his bum from side to side until the cat went away.
- 1:14The little squeaky mouse came out of this hiding place. He mustn't find me, it said.
- 1:21Kipper fetched his toy box. If he comes back, you can't hide in here, said Kipper.
- 1:29He'll never find you in here. It's always a complete mess I can never find anything,
- 1:36But the little squeaky mouse wasn't listening It gave a squeak,
- 1:42And it jumped straight into the toy box That was coming back The cat was coming
- 1:48back I know you're here somewhere Said the cat,
- 1:54He picked up the big owl and sniffed I'm going to find you little squeaky mouse,
- 2:01Is this what you're looking for, said Kipper?
- 2:04You're pointing something in the end of the sock thing, a little ball the size of the mouse.
- 2:16Kipper threw the sock thing, which bounced the tiny bouncers right across the page.
- 2:27There you are, said the cat.
- 2:29It chased after the sock thing and pounced. Got you, it said.
- 2:34The cat held up the sock thing and shook him.
- 2:39Out you come, little squeaky mouse, it said. Something blue and round popped into the cat's paw,
- 2:47It didn't look much like a mouse It didn't smell much like a mouse It was Kipper's chewed up old ball,
- 2:56He's coming back, said the little squeaky mouse Quick, hide me somewhere else
- 3:02So Kipper grabbed the little squeaky mouse and popped it on top of his head,
- 3:09The little squeaky mouse,
- 3:14um, the little squeaky mouse formed itself in Kipper's ears.
- 3:17Look natural, it whispered.
- 3:20Um, Kipper did not look very natural. He looked ridiculous.
- 3:27I know you're here somewhere, said the cat. He.
- 3:34Sniffed the toy box. He's in here, isn't he? Kipper shook his head,
- 3:39which was a big mistake Found you, said the cat,
- 3:44Kipper grabbed the little squeaky mouse and.
- 3:52He ran as fast as he could all the way to the big hill Don't worry,
- 3:58pantered Kipper It won't let me get you But just at the top of the big hill Kipper tripped and fell,
- 4:06and the little squeaky mouse popped out of his paws.
- 4:11I wasn't worried actually and went tumbling all the way back down the big hill
- 4:18straight to the paws of you know who.
- 4:21Gotcha, said the cat.
- 4:24No, no, no, said Kipper. Please don't gobble him up.
- 4:30The cat looked at Kipper. The little squeaky mouse looked at Kipper and they both began to laugh.
- 4:38Gobble me up, said the little squeaky mouse.
- 4:42He's not going to gobble me up. Then why are you hiding, said Kipper?
- 4:47Because we're playing hide and seek, silly, upset the cat. Just left.
- 4:54And it's my turn to look, said the little squeaky mouse, jumping up and down.
- 5:01So it's our turn to hide, said the cat to Kipper.
- 5:05So run and hide before I gobble you up, said the little squeaky mouse.
- 5:10And he could hardly count for giggling. One.
- 5:17Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. just like the little squeaky
- 5:22mouse Kipper squeezed himself into the foldy bit of the middle,
- 5:27in the middle of the book but as you can see Kipper is much bigger than this,
- 5:33squeaky mouse so I don't think it'll take long to find him, do you?
- 5:43The end and thank you for listening.
