Latest / The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show / Buck Brief - WNBA Knows What a Man is, But Not a Woman
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: So I have some important breaking news for you. The WNBA,
- 0:03Speaker 1: it seems, is able to answer the question, what is
- 0:07Speaker 1: a woman? Or at least what is a man? They
- 0:10Speaker 1: have some clarity on this one. And it's shocking in
- 0:15Speaker 1: a sense because up to this point, they've been unwilling
- 0:18Speaker 1: to tell us. Here you go. WNBA, let's dive into this,
- 0:22Speaker 1: responds to Congress's question on how it defines a woman
- 0:26Speaker 1: as transgender controversy rages on. Now, as you recall from, well,
- 0:31Speaker 1: first of all, from the news, but also from the
- 0:34Speaker 1: Clay and Buck show where we have talked about this
- 0:36Speaker 1: many times, the current situation is that the WNBA does
- 0:44Speaker 1: not allow, is not allowing Enos Cantor Freedom to be
- 0:49Speaker 1: a part of the draft because, well, the WNBA, we
- 0:54Speaker 1: are told, is open to trans players, apparently. There are
- 1:00Speaker 1: trans basketball players abroad and the WNBA would be open,
- 1:05Speaker 1: it seems, to trans players here as well, meaning a
- 1:07Speaker 1: man who says he's a woman. So this has turned
- 1:09Speaker 1: into quite a kerfuffle. And here's where the latest Kathy Engelbert,
- 1:14Speaker 1: who is the head of the WNBA, responded. She's the commissioner,
- 1:19Speaker 1: responded to Republican lawmakers demand for the need to define
- 1:22Speaker 1: the WNBA's eligibility rules and stated Enos Cantor freedom. and
- 1:26Speaker 1: Royce White are both ineligible to play because they are, quote,
- 1:30Speaker 1: both men. With respect to your questions regarding eligibility, only
- 1:35Speaker 1: women are eligible to play in the WNBA, and the
- 1:39Speaker 1: individuals you cite in your letter are both men, she
- 1:41Speaker 1: wrote in an October 16th letter. So the response was
- 1:46Speaker 1: prompted after Indiana House Representative Marlon Stutzman, among other Republicans,
- 1:52Speaker 1: asked the league for a clear definition of of what
- 1:56Speaker 1: is a woman. And the WNBA said both Freedom and
- 2:00Speaker 1: White were not eligible to declare for the 2027 draft.
- 2:06Speaker 1: There's something going on here. They don't know what a
- 2:09Speaker 1: woman is, but they know what a man is. How interesting.
- 2:14Speaker 1: They can say those are men. Okay, what defines what
- 2:19Speaker 1: a woman might be? Or who is a woman? That
- 2:22Speaker 1: seems like a very valid argument. Corollary, right? If you
- 2:25Speaker 1: can define what a man is, you must be able
- 2:27Speaker 1: to define what a woman is. But I think what
- 2:29Speaker 1: we're going to find out is that in this case,
- 2:33Speaker 1: the NBA, or WNBA rather, which is sort of a
- 2:38Speaker 1: women's charity offshoot of the NBA, we're going to find
- 2:42Speaker 1: out that they're very quick to say you're a man,
- 2:45Speaker 1: but they will not declare what a woman is because
- 2:47Speaker 1: they want to leave open the possibility that a man
- 2:49Speaker 1: who says he's a woman will in fact be a...
- 2:56Speaker 1: treated as a woman. So they have to leave the
- 3:00Speaker 1: door open. They have to make it possible for there
- 3:03Speaker 1: to be a situation where somebody who is trans can
- 3:08Speaker 1: still be in the WNBA. But now you might say,
- 3:11Speaker 1: hold on a second. Why isn't Enos Cantor freedom trans?
- 3:16Speaker 1: He says he is a woman. If it means that
- 3:19Speaker 1: he has to grow his hair long and paint his
- 3:22Speaker 1: fingernails and Is that what the requirement is? Shouldn't the
- 3:26Speaker 1: WNBA have to provide, shouldn't the WNBA have to state
- 3:29Speaker 1: what the requirement is to be considered, for all intents
- 3:33Speaker 1: and purposes, a woman? And then Enos Kanter can try
- 3:38Speaker 1: to meet those standards. But you see, this is the game.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It's not just definitional. This is the game that they play.
- 3:45Speaker 1: They operate in a delusion. The delusion in this case,
- 3:49Speaker 1: very clearly, is that A man can become a woman
- 3:53Speaker 1: and has to be treated as such when they say so.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Central to this is the idea that they have the
- 4:01Speaker 1: right to declare themselves, that they are the ones who
- 4:04Speaker 1: can establish that there's the power to say a man
- 4:07Speaker 1: can become a woman. But this is not going away
- 4:11Speaker 1: because they've really actually just invited more with this. They've
- 4:15Speaker 1: invited a greater degree of controversy here. because if they
- 4:19Speaker 1: can say what a woman is, they have to be
- 4:20Speaker 1: able to, rather what a man is, they have to
- 4:21Speaker 1: be able to say what a woman is. Now, my
- 4:24Speaker 1: esteemed sports analyst colleague and co-host, Mr. Clay Travis, he
- 4:28Speaker 1: has said he thinks there might be intersex players already
- 4:31Speaker 1: in the WNBA. Given some of the evidence that I
- 4:35Speaker 1: have seen, I find that to be a very credible possibility.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And then you would have quite a situation unfolding, wouldn't you?
- 4:46Speaker 1: You would have a league that is already allowing essentially
- 4:49Speaker 1: the possibility of a league that has biological males playing
- 4:53Speaker 1: against females, or at least something that is a intersex
- 4:59Speaker 1: situation where it's mostly male, mostly female, but some sexual
- 5:03Speaker 1: characteristics of both. This whole thing is the result of
- 5:09Speaker 1: Democrats pretending that a man does not have a physiological advantage,
- 5:13Speaker 1: a physical advantage over women in strength, speed, and coordination competitions.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And they will not stop. I have to say the
- 5:22Speaker 1: young girls team that was a cross country team recently,
- 5:26Speaker 1: I think it was in Washington state that refused to
- 5:30Speaker 1: run the race because there was a man running against them.
- 5:33Speaker 1: They are the women who were the young women who
- 5:35Speaker 1: refused to do that race and walked as protest. They
- 5:38Speaker 1: are brave and they are correct. And this needs to stop.
- 5:42Speaker 1: This needs to stop, but the problems with stopping it
- 5:46Speaker 1: for the Democrats are manifold, or they are numerous. For example,
- 5:53Speaker 1: they've convinced a lot of mentally ill people that they're
- 5:56Speaker 1: the new civil rights struggle, meaning trans people. How do
- 6:00Speaker 1: you walk away from the new civil rights struggle without
- 6:04Speaker 1: seeming like you are abandoning your post, without seeming like
- 6:08Speaker 1: you are selling out some principle that you previously espoused.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It doesn't seem like there's any easy way to achieve this,
- 6:16Speaker 1: and so they have to perpetuate, they have to continue
- 6:19Speaker 1: on with the lie. The lie, of course, in this case,
- 6:21Speaker 1: that a man can become a woman. But there's also
- 6:25Speaker 1: a very large, this doesn't get talked about very much,
- 6:27Speaker 1: a very large NGO, non-profit, slash media industrial complex that
- 6:33Speaker 1: that is really a leftover from the gay and lesbian
- 6:37Speaker 1: rights crusade of previous decades, in the post-Oberg-Fell gay marriage
- 6:43Speaker 1: in all 50 states world, what exactly do these organizations
- 6:48Speaker 1: exist to do? Well, transgenderism is now on the tip
- 6:56Speaker 1: of the spear of what the radical left NGO apparatus
- 7:04Speaker 1: is trying to achieve. And so there's actually money, a
- 7:06Speaker 1: lot of money behind this. People don't think about that
- 7:08Speaker 1: very much, but there are people whose jobs depend on this.
- 7:11Speaker 1: And there are also a lot of people whose jobs
- 7:13Speaker 1: have perpetuated this fantasy, this fiction, and who want to
- 7:17Speaker 1: make it a mandatory, enforced by the state delusion. And
- 7:22Speaker 1: that alone is a very troubling thing. When the state
- 7:25Speaker 1: can force you to believe lies, when the state can
- 7:28Speaker 1: force you to live by lies, to borrow from Solzhenitsyn,
- 7:32Speaker 1: you are in a very precarious situation because they will
- 7:36Speaker 1: never stop at that one lie. They will continue beyond
- 7:39Speaker 1: it and they will push and push until they are
- 7:43Speaker 1: finally met with at least the forceful rejection, if not
- 7:47Speaker 1: force itself, of the non-believers, of those who choose or
- 7:51Speaker 1: insist on living in reality. So with that, the transgender debate,
- 7:56Speaker 1: as you see, it's not just about sports. It's not
- 7:59Speaker 1: just about bathrooms. It's really about whether we are allowed
- 8:03Speaker 1: to live in a society that privileges and protects truth,
- 8:09Speaker 1: even at the expense of feelings, delusions, emotions, etc. All
- 8:15Speaker 1: of which are really just what are used by the
- 8:18Speaker 1: left to try to argue that transgenderism is real. They
- 8:23Speaker 1: want to tell us they know it when they see it,
- 8:24Speaker 1: but they can't really define it because if they set
- 8:26Speaker 1: up an actual definition of it, they will find that
- 8:32Speaker 1: it doesn't suffice and they will have to break their
- 8:35Speaker 1: own definition. And therein lies the problem. So my friends,
- 8:40Speaker 1: very important that this W, I understand a lot of
- 8:43Speaker 1: you are like WNBA, who cares? This effort to continue
- 8:47Speaker 1: to show how absurd this is, is much more than
- 8:52Speaker 1: just about a sports situation. And so that's why Enos Cantor, freedom,
- 8:57Speaker 1: And Royce, whatever his name is. See, I don't know
- 9:02Speaker 1: that much about the sports guys. Royce White. That's why
- 9:05Speaker 1: what they're doing is not just a stunt. It's not
- 9:08Speaker 1: just for attention or all these things that people are
- 9:10Speaker 1: trying to say. It is important. It is important. It
- 9:15Speaker 1: is powerful. It is necessary because we should refuse to
- 9:20Speaker 1: live by lies. We should always adhere to those words,
- 9:24Speaker 1: those timeless words of Solzhenitsyn. Just because the left demands it,
- 9:27Speaker 1: just because the Democrats want it, does not make it so,
- 9:29Speaker 1: does not make it true. And we should not bend
- 9:32Speaker 1: the knee to their craziness. And this is obviously crazy.
- 9:36Speaker 1: You know it and I know it. A man cannot
- 9:39Speaker 1: become a woman. It's not possible. And to pretend otherwise
- 9:42Speaker 1: is a lie. And it's as straightforward as that. And
- 9:45Speaker 1: the WNBA, because there are a lot of people who
- 9:48Speaker 1: are gender confused or LGBTQIA +, or whatever it may be,
- 9:53Speaker 1: they are catering to this delusion. And that's why they
- 9:58Speaker 1: are trying to prevent men from, one, being able to
- 10:01Speaker 1: play in the league, because that would destroy their, I mean,
- 10:03Speaker 1: their league would be shown to be a joke, because
- 10:04Speaker 1: the men would dominate so much, and two, they can't
- 10:07Speaker 1: actually define what the rules are, because the rules would
- 10:11Speaker 1: always be inconsistent and inconsistently applied. Our sponsor here is Incognate.
