Mets Crush Marlins in 9-4 Slugfest | Miami Marlins News
The Mets crushed the Marlins 9-4 in a wild, 16-hit slugfest, with young pitcher Jonah Tong earning the win despite four runs allowed. Miami’s shaky defense gifted New York an early 2-run lead, but a late rally by the Marlins briefly turned the tide. The Mets answered with a furious 4-run inning, fueled by key hits from Alvarez, Bichette, and Ewing, to take control. The bullpen sealed it with four scoreless innings, keeping the Mets even with the Nationals — and possibly ahead if Washington loses today.
