- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome to another episode of the Almost Famous podcast. Today,
- 0:10Speaker 2: I have the cast of Suckers, the newly branded podcast.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Formally known as.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Help I Suck At Dating and then also formally known
- 0:20Speaker 2: as Help I Suck at Being Newlyweds.
- 0:22Speaker 3: That name was really rough.
- 0:24Speaker 2: It was a very niche audience, so we've changed it
- 0:27Speaker 2: to just Suckers. That is my husband's podcast, along with
- 0:31Speaker 2: Dean and Kaylen Bell, who sit across the table from us.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I know that we're at Gary and Teresa's wedding right now,
- 0:38Speaker 2: and Kaylen needs to go get her makeup done, as
- 0:41Speaker 2: do I in about an hour. So I just wanted
- 0:43Speaker 2: to present this one question before Kaylen gets out of
- 0:46Speaker 2: here and then we can let the.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Men continue to debate it.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah, but so this wedding sparked some conversation between Jared
- 0:55Speaker 2: and I because I was like, what's the rush? Like
- 0:56Speaker 2: why are they why are theytting married? You know, like
- 0:59Speaker 2: why do they have to get married now? Like they've
- 1:00Speaker 2: known each other for four or five months, Like they're
- 1:02Speaker 2: not trying to have kids, Like they don't know each other,
- 1:05Speaker 2: you know, and then that evolved into I was like like, also, like,
- 1:11Speaker 2: I don't even know. I don't know that I would
- 1:14Speaker 2: need the companionship at a certain age.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I don't know how I would be widowed widowed at
- 1:21Speaker 2: a certain page? Yes, yes, yes, yes, and sorry, I
- 1:25Speaker 2: do need to hurry up and get to that. But
- 1:26Speaker 2: Jared and I had this conversation about at what age morbid?
- 1:31Speaker 2: But if one of you died, would you say that?
- 1:35Speaker 2: Like I want my husband to not mourn me for wherever,
- 1:38Speaker 2: but I want him to go find someone else. And
- 1:40Speaker 2: then is there an age where you'd be like, no,
- 1:42Speaker 2: you don't need that.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I I say, you can mourn me for three years
- 1:49Speaker 4: and then you can move on three years, be alone
- 1:52Speaker 4: for three years.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah, no matter what the age.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Yeah, I think because and watching The Golden Bachelor and
- 1:59Speaker 4: and the women talking about this, they're like, we're so
- 2:01Speaker 4: often overlooked. It just makes me feel like, you're never
- 2:05Speaker 4: not gonna want that companionship.
- 2:08Speaker 5: She wants me to die alone, Okay, I'm not joking.
- 2:12Speaker 5: She never wants me to be with anybody.
- 2:14Speaker 2: That is an absolute lie. We said this, we established
- 2:17Speaker 2: If we established this, wait, why are you coming at
- 2:20Speaker 2: me so high, so weird, we stot you were the one.
- 2:25Speaker 3: First off, I was like, don't worry all alone care.
- 2:28Speaker 3: I don't care.
- 2:28Speaker 2: And I I said that at forty five and below,
- 2:33Speaker 2: I would definitely want you to move on. And I
- 2:38Speaker 2: guess forty five sounds.
- 2:39Speaker 6: Really forty six. Guys. Sorry, I'm okay anything.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I don't know because I feel baby, just in myself
- 2:48Speaker 2: that I'm like, I have my kids, I'm not gonna need.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Your kids are going to be out of the house
- 2:53Speaker 3: at that time. Yeah, and you're going to be even
- 2:55Speaker 3: little know then you know, my sister and I are
- 2:56Speaker 3: just going to live together.
- 2:57Speaker 5: The point of this was that my so my grandmother
- 2:59Speaker 5: passed away to the the thirteen. My grandfather passed away
- 3:01Speaker 5: in twenty twenty two, so he had nine years afterwards,
- 3:04Speaker 5: and they've been married for sixty years and he was
- 3:05Speaker 5: still in love with her and he was but like
- 3:08Speaker 5: he got caught making out with the neighbor who was also.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Uh he was like in his eighties.
- 3:14Speaker 5: They were both in their eighties, like both had their
- 3:16Speaker 5: significant others. I know, I thought it was the cutest thing.
- 3:19Speaker 5: And then Ashley was like, no, it is cute when
- 3:21Speaker 5: it's grampy. You said it was gross.
- 3:24Speaker 3: No, he didn't. You are having.
- 3:28Speaker 6: Anyway anyway, But you said that you never like because
- 3:31Speaker 6: you were.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I think that's funny.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I don't think that I would need I don't think
- 3:34Speaker 2: I would have that desire personally.
- 3:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know what I'm saying anymore, what would
- 3:41Speaker 6: you think?
- 3:42Speaker 5: I think, of course, like if I I mean, I
- 3:45Speaker 5: hope that we both live long lives, but if I
- 3:48Speaker 5: were to die, I would want you, of course to
- 3:52Speaker 5: be sad. But I also don't want you to not
- 3:55Speaker 5: at some point move on with your life.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but I'm just like wondering if it's
- 3:59Speaker 2: like something that I would even care about, like at
- 4:02Speaker 2: a certain.
- 4:02Speaker 5: Point you said specifically you because I was like, I
- 4:05Speaker 5: would want you to find somebody else, and you're like,
- 4:07Speaker 5: I wouldn't want that. I want you to think about it.
- 4:10Speaker 3: No, I said, I want you to think about me forever.
- 4:12Speaker 6: Well, you said you never want me to be with someone.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Else, which I literally just said that, like at forty
- 4:19Speaker 2: five or younger, I would definitely want you to find
- 4:21Speaker 2: somebody else, because.
- 4:22Speaker 6: You have sobody.
- 4:24Speaker 7: Jared, Wait, I've got a question.
- 4:26Speaker 3: But I'm not saying like obviously I don't like.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I think, like, yeah, like you probably should, but I
- 4:33Speaker 2: also like I get emotional thinking about it.
- 4:36Speaker 7: So can we just get one number if if your
- 4:38Speaker 7: significant other dies, I'm sorry, if you die, how long
- 4:41Speaker 7: until you're significant other you would give their blessing to
- 4:43Speaker 7: date again? As a ghost?
- 4:45Speaker 3: I would just a number.
- 4:46Speaker 7: I don't want to hear anything. Just a number, just
- 4:47Speaker 7: a number, nothing else.
- 4:52Speaker 6: I'd say a year.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Okay, in a year, that's wait a year before dating
- 4:58Speaker 2: someone else.
- 4:59Speaker 3: For you, that's you, for you? But I think I
- 5:03Speaker 3: think I say two to three for Jared for Jared.
- 5:08Speaker 7: Okay, now let me yeah, that's like if you die. Okay, now,
- 5:13Speaker 7: let me ask you this question because this I think
- 5:14Speaker 7: is interesting as well, because it because not all heartbreak
- 5:17Speaker 7: ends with death. If you guys got divorced, God forbid,
- 5:20Speaker 7: how long would you love?
- 5:22Speaker 3: That doesn't make it changes the whole scenario, of course.
- 5:24Speaker 7: But like you would, it absolutely does. How long after
- 5:28Speaker 7: a divorce? And again, I don't think this is ever
- 5:30Speaker 7: gonna happen, but like you know, it happens. How long
- 5:32Speaker 7: would you be like not comfortable with but like not
- 5:35Speaker 7: side eyeing him being in a relationship after your divorce probably,
- 5:39Speaker 7: I don't think it would also a similar amount of time.
- 5:41Speaker 5: I don't think it would ever. See that makes it
- 5:43Speaker 5: different for me, because then it would just I'm assuming
- 5:45Speaker 5: that if we ever did get divorced, which hopefully we won't,
- 5:49Speaker 5: that it would not end well because I can't imagine
- 5:52Speaker 5: there'd ever be a time where we were just falling,
- 5:55Speaker 5: where we were so out of love, out of love
- 5:59Speaker 5: that we ended up getting divorced and it was amicable.
- 6:02Speaker 3: You mean, so it would all be very.
- 6:03Speaker 6: I think it would we end up getting divorced, it
- 6:05Speaker 6: would be bad.
- 6:06Speaker 3: So then what are you saying.
- 6:09Speaker 6: That I think like it would just never.
- 6:14Speaker 7: And the reason I asked that question because if I
- 6:16Speaker 7: were to die, I would be I would want Kaitlyn
- 6:17Speaker 7: to be in a relationship the next day if she
- 6:19Speaker 7: felt comfortable. If you died, I would want her to
- 6:22Speaker 7: be happy in a relationship as soon as she possibly
- 6:25Speaker 7: get ready for it.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Probably is all about me because I don't like I
- 6:30Speaker 2: hated dating. I never liked anyone, so I think that
- 6:34Speaker 2: like I would never really seek it out. I think
- 6:37Speaker 2: that's probably where it comes down to. But if it
- 6:39Speaker 2: came into my lap, then I.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Would probably be total that's probably.
- 6:47Speaker 6: What it is with.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Thank you so much for having me, thank you.
- 6:52Speaker 3: So much for being here.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Yes, make sure you guys listen.
- 6:54Speaker 2: To I think that like I think it's the seeking
- 6:57Speaker 2: out thing that actually would like would be like the
- 7:00Speaker 2: more hurtful thing if.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I died, Like you getting excited to date again, I.
- 7:05Speaker 6: Think I don't think I would get excited.
- 7:08Speaker 7: No, that'd be it'd be the noestit of excitement. It'd
- 7:11Speaker 7: be dread But you, like, out of necessity, probably have
- 7:13Speaker 7: to do.
- 7:14Speaker 5: I'd say, like the only happiness I would get would
- 7:16Speaker 5: be like I would come home and be like, oh,
- 7:18Speaker 5: it's so quiet.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Home by myself. No, you would love to be like
- 7:21Speaker 3: home by yourself, like a little bit.
- 7:23Speaker 6: I think everybody does.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I can tell that sometimes when I take Dawson,
- 7:26Speaker 5: Oh my god, I love it.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's weird because even with Dawson, like he's too right,
- 7:31Speaker 2: but like when he's home, you are home with someone,
- 7:35Speaker 2: oh yeah, and like when you're when he leaves and
- 7:37Speaker 2: Jared takes him somewhere, I'm like, oh my gosh, this
- 7:39Speaker 2: is what it feels to be home alone again.
- 7:51Speaker 7: Can I ask maybe a personal question, what happens if
- 7:54Speaker 7: you're home alone with the kid and you really got
- 7:56Speaker 7: to go to the bathroom number two, You're going to
- 7:58Speaker 7: be in there for thirty minutes.
- 7:59Speaker 6: What doors open?
- 8:00Speaker 3: I'm a woman. I don't do doors open. You've done
- 8:03Speaker 3: that before.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Yeah, where it's just like I go. So I usually
- 8:06Speaker 5: like will put the TV on quickly, and because it's
- 8:09Speaker 5: like you know, as a guy here, like time, time
- 8:12Speaker 5: is escaping right now. It's common whether I want it
- 8:14Speaker 5: to or not. But then I'll just like so then
- 8:17Speaker 5: I'll put the TV on and he'll be with his toys,
- 8:19Speaker 5: and then I'll just go in the hallway bathroom and
- 8:21Speaker 5: leave the door open, and then he'll sometimes waddle in
- 8:24Speaker 5: and then.
- 8:24Speaker 7: It's like give a courtesy flush.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Uh.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I just make sure that I'm like, nope, stay away, bro,
- 8:29Speaker 5: Like you don't want to yea happen.
- 8:32Speaker 3: It's good to Yeah, it's usually the TV. Usually a TV. Yeah,
- 8:36Speaker 3: but usually I'm pretty fast.
- 8:38Speaker 7: Because girls are and I don't know you're missing out,
- 8:41Speaker 7: you're missing out on the whole side of life that
- 8:42Speaker 7: it makes things so much better.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Yeah, because there are times like there is no my
- 8:47Speaker 5: body will not allow me. I don't I cap what
- 8:49Speaker 5: we're talking about this right now, because I feel bad.
- 8:51Speaker 5: We've taken the poop talk from suckers to almost famous
- 8:54Speaker 5: now quickly. Though As a guy dude, I couldn't like
- 8:57Speaker 5: my body. It's not like I sit, I go, I'm done.
- 9:00Speaker 5: I'm like, it's like it's like I go and then
- 9:03Speaker 5: I'm like, oh, I think there's more, and then it's
- 9:06Speaker 5: just like.
- 9:07Speaker 7: And then I start to feel bad. So I'm like,
- 9:08Speaker 7: I should probably hurry up start wiping. I'm like, wait, no,
- 9:10Speaker 7: I'm not done.
- 9:11Speaker 5: That's what I mean, Like, I'm not done. There's like
- 9:13Speaker 5: times where we're like, yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 6: It's like it's a week.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I can sort of I have moments where I understand
- 9:19Speaker 2: where you're coming from, but like, okay, now we're getting
- 9:21Speaker 2: the sign that we should probably change the subject.
- 9:23Speaker 3: But I do want to leave the ultimate.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Conversation that we start out with by saying, I'm not
- 9:27Speaker 2: a bitch. I want Jared to be happy if I died,
- 9:31Speaker 2: and I.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Would love and I want you you know, and whatever
- 9:35Speaker 3: makes you happy.
- 9:36Speaker 6: They're just gonna start crying.
- 9:37Speaker 3: No I would. I would probably start crying.
- 9:40Speaker 6: But it's great, So why why do you.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Have to be so like matter of fact about it?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Why don't you cry when you talk about a hypothetical.
- 9:47Speaker 7: It's such a hypothetical and like I can't even take
- 9:49Speaker 7: it serious, right for me.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Personally, it's like I can take it. I take it
- 9:52Speaker 3: so serious.
- 9:53Speaker 7: I don't even want to think about it because it
- 9:54Speaker 7: is so sad and such a sad thing to have happened.
- 9:57Speaker 7: Like why would I even try to like imagine it,
- 9:58Speaker 7: because I don't want to imagine something so bad, you
- 10:00Speaker 7: know what I mean.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Yeah, that's why when we say like year or two,
- 10:02Speaker 5: I mean obviously we're half joking because it's like, oh,
- 10:05Speaker 5: it's just a number.
- 10:06Speaker 7: Yeah, I could see that.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Like, so, Ray, I need Ben to talk about this
- 10:10Speaker 2: with Raven and Adam because they were talking about this. This
- 10:12Speaker 2: is what sparked a whole bunch of conversations.
- 10:14Speaker 7: What do they say?
- 10:15Speaker 3: She said, I never want to get married again.
- 10:18Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I would never want to get married again.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Oh oh, there's a difference between being with someone and
- 10:22Speaker 5: getting married. Okay, Okay, I don't think I never want
- 10:24Speaker 5: to get married.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Sweet babe. Yeah that's so nice.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Okay, So she said, I don't want to get married again,
- 10:29Speaker 2: no matter, like, no matter whether you died tomorrow, like
- 10:31Speaker 2: when I was thirty three. Yeah, and then she said,
- 10:34Speaker 2: but I know you must get married again.
- 10:37Speaker 3: She's like, you will, you would you will? Adam?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he was like, and she said, and
- 10:42Speaker 2: I'd want you to because I'd want at this age
- 10:45Speaker 2: the boys.
- 10:46Speaker 3: To have like a mother figure in this problem, which
- 10:48Speaker 3: is obviously the.
- 10:49Speaker 5: Problem becomes if the other person, because I feel like
- 10:53Speaker 5: Dean would probably agree with this, like if Caitlin died
- 10:56Speaker 5: or if you died. Man, such a morbid talk, but
- 10:59Speaker 5: that it would they would be kind of like a rebound.
- 11:03Speaker 5: You know, I don't think i'd ever find like this
- 11:06Speaker 5: great love again.
- 11:08Speaker 3: This is what we want to hear.
- 11:10Speaker 5: I would agree, But that doesn't mean that I don't want,
- 11:12Speaker 5: like I wouldn't want companionship. So that's kind of weird, right,
- 11:17Speaker 5: because even it would be interesting to talk about this
- 11:21Speaker 5: with the women from The Golden Bachelor.
- 11:23Speaker 6: About marriage again, not even your.
- 11:29Speaker 5: Motive, but like, are you okay with the idea that
- 11:33Speaker 5: like Gary might have loved his wife who passed away
- 11:36Speaker 5: more than I think that it's not in love with you,
- 11:39Speaker 5: but like it's just a different kind of love.
- 11:42Speaker 7: That's actually a really interesting question. I wonder how they
- 11:44Speaker 7: are both answer.
- 11:44Speaker 2: That I would say that this this time in their relationship,
- 11:49Speaker 2: being that they have only known each other for five months,
- 11:51Speaker 2: better say that you love the X.
- 11:53Speaker 6: No, right, Yeah, I would say otherwise.
- 11:55Speaker 5: And that's why it's so interesting that they're getting marriage
- 11:57Speaker 5: so quickly, because it's.
- 11:59Speaker 6: Like, I'm I'm wondering. I would love to ask their
- 12:02Speaker 6: view on matagage.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Finish the Sorry, I know, I took a sip and
- 12:05Speaker 5: then I had a thought and I started talking.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Into the mic. Anyway, I'm curious about their thoughts on marriage.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, like for me, I wouldn't needed that again either,
- 12:16Speaker 2: You're right, like you can date, but like, why are
- 12:18Speaker 2: they rushing into the marriage?
- 12:20Speaker 3: Is what I'm interested.
- 12:21Speaker 7: Let's ask you this question real quick, Ashley. You probably
- 12:23Speaker 7: have the best insight on this. Do you think if
- 12:24Speaker 7: it wasn't for having been The Golden Bachelor and ABC
- 12:28Speaker 7: producing it, do you think they'd be getting married or
- 12:30Speaker 7: do you now that it's a publicity stun be cause
- 12:31Speaker 7: I don't think it is. But do you think that
- 12:33Speaker 7: the pressure from the network is maybe encouraging them to
- 12:35Speaker 7: do it?
- 12:36Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 12:36Speaker 3: This soon?
- 12:37Speaker 2: I think they probably would be interested in getting married
- 12:39Speaker 2: as the two of them seemed like that that was
- 12:41Speaker 2: a goal of theirs. But they also, I think are
- 12:44Speaker 2: getting paid pretty well for this, and that's okay to
- 12:47Speaker 2: say out loud and like that isn't in said we.
- 12:50Speaker 6: Don't know literally speaking out of ours I am. And
- 12:53Speaker 6: also to say.
- 12:54Speaker 5: That just because I think people think that we have
- 12:55Speaker 5: informed information about that, which we don't want.
- 12:58Speaker 7: What's so cool about Jared, I'm so sorry, Gary and
- 13:00Speaker 7: Teresa is they're seventy something years old. Yeah, and only
- 13:06Speaker 7: through the short interaction I had with them yesterday. It's
- 13:08Speaker 7: so cool to see these people talk because they know
- 13:11Speaker 7: exactly who they are, they know exactly what they like,
- 13:13Speaker 7: and part of that plays into them getting married too.
- 13:16Speaker 7: It's like they're, at seventy plus years old, you know
- 13:19Speaker 7: so much more about yourself than you do at twenty three,
- 13:21Speaker 7: and so like to make a decision like to get
- 13:23Speaker 7: married in such a short amount of time, they're making
- 13:25Speaker 7: it with so much more background, back, backed up information.
- 13:29Speaker 7: So it's like it's almost hard for us to even
- 13:31Speaker 7: sexualize it because they have so much more understanding of it.
- 13:33Speaker 2: It's actually such a good point, and I love to
- 13:35Speaker 2: wrap up this episode with that because it kind of
- 13:37Speaker 2: like kind of checks me where I'm like, they were
- 13:40Speaker 2: rushing into it like I've a because I'm like, yeah, exactly,
- 13:43Speaker 2: like why, like I have no right to say that.
- 13:45Speaker 3: They're literally twice my age to a t.
- 13:48Speaker 5: So it's such an impactful decision because not to sound morbid,
- 13:52Speaker 5: wrap this up with death. So like they have you know,
- 13:56Speaker 5: they've lived more life than Yeah, they have ahead of them.
- 14:00Speaker 6: You know, there's more there's ahead of them.
- 14:02Speaker 7: They're past the halfway point, so that's crazy, past the
- 14:05Speaker 7: three quarter.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Point good combos.
- 14:07Speaker 7: Nine tenths point at this point.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Yeah, but at the end of the day, I think
- 14:09Speaker 5: all three of us are really just like they're bothal
- 14:11Speaker 5: you know, we're rooting for sounds so bad to say,
- 14:15Speaker 5: like old people. They're not old, but you know what
- 14:17Speaker 5: I mean, it's like, you know, they're so cute because
- 14:20Speaker 5: they are old.
