- 0:01Hello and welcome to the Everyday Eurasia podcast,
- 0:05Inspiring Faith for Every day. Each day we are on a journey
- 0:09with Jesus in our churches, our homes, our very places, and in
- 0:14so many different places around the world.
- 0:17Isn't it beautiful that no matter where we are, we can walk
- 0:21with him every single day? Jesus is the one who connects us
- 0:25all and stands at the very center of our lives day after
- 0:29day. Through this podcast, you'll
- 0:31hear voices from across the region.
- 0:34Pastor Nizar Tuma, born in Nazareth and a devoted servant
- 0:38of faith since becoming a believer in 1985.
- 0:41He was ordained in 1990 and has spent decades in ministry,
- 0:46including ten years in Jerusalem and over 26 years in Nazareth.
- 0:50He's married to his wife, Katie. With home.
- 0:53He shares three children and two grandchildren.
- 0:56Today he serves as the District Superintendent of the Holy Land
- 1:00District. Hello everyone, greetings again
- 1:03in the name of Jesus. It's a pleasure to get to see
- 1:06you all again and to share with you what's on my heart for this
- 1:10devotional, this day. And I'm going to be speaking
- 1:14about the importance of spending time with Jesus, your solitary
- 1:18time, your quiet time when Jesus invited his disciples, when they
- 1:23prayed to go into their closet and close the door.
- 1:28So today I just want to remind you that in the first podcast, I
- 1:32spoke about the veil that was removed, that there was no
- 1:36restrictions, no barriers anymore between you and God,
- 1:40between US and God. So today I will share with you a
- 1:44few verses and some ideas from the Gospel of Mark chapter 6.
- 1:51I read a few verses. Please look up with me Chapter 6
- 1:56of the book of Mark verse 30 to probably 32.
- 2:01The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Him all
- 2:05they had done and taught. Then because so many people were
- 2:09coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat,
- 2:14He said to them, come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and
- 2:20get some rest. So they went away by themselves
- 2:25in a boat to a solitary place. So thinking about that, Jesus
- 2:31inviting his disciples to go away and spend time with him
- 2:36alone, how important that calling is to us today.
- 2:40There are so much going and coming, so many people, so many
- 2:43things that we're doing. We're so busy.
- 2:46Our hands are full of so many things to do.
- 2:49We are so busy with ministry, reaching out, preaching,
- 2:52teaching and and probably visiting hospitals and visiting
- 2:56people in their homes and caring for others.
- 2:59And we don't have a chance to find and sit in front of Jesus,
- 3:05sit at his feet and gaze at his beauty and think about those
- 3:10special moments where we, in those moments we get so much
- 3:15power, we get so much love, and we get so much of what is on
- 3:20God's heart for our lives. So I would encourage you today
- 3:24that use the time, do not let this opportunity, you know, like
- 3:31slip between your hands, between your fingers, just grab it, run,
- 3:37take a time, walk away. Because the you see, when the
- 3:41veil was removed, now it's our opportunity to go and enjoy
- 3:45whatever is going to happen behind this veil.
- 3:49What whatever Jesus wants to add to our lives.
- 3:53I bet when we sit down and we we rest and we relax, dropping
- 3:58every burden at his feet, confessing all of our weaknesses
- 4:03and probably our iniquities and just tell him that we need him
- 4:08and that we came just to meet with him to just to sit at his
- 4:12feet. How important that is and how
- 4:15beautiful the picture is. I bet every one of us needs
- 4:18those touches of Jesus hands as we spend time at his feet.
- 4:24You see, many people don't have this opportunity and many
- 4:28believers, probably, I know many pastors don't have this
- 4:31opportunity of sitting down and really spending time with Jesus.
- 4:36It is so important for us as believers to take that time and
- 4:40make the best use of it. So today, please think, who is
- 4:44Jesus to you? Is he All in all?
- 4:47Is he your God? Is your passion really high and
- 4:53you love to meet with Him, You love to see Him, You love to
- 4:56spend time with Him. You see, I live in Nazareth.
- 4:59This is a place where people rejected Jesus.
- 5:02They just didn't believe in him and they were they said
- 5:06something about him being lunatic.
- 5:08It was and, and also in the book of Mark, I think it was chapter
- 5:113, they went out to bring Jesus in.
- 5:15Like he was on the street. It's like almost he was crazy.
- 5:19But you see, they didn't understand who he was, who Jesus
- 5:22was. How about us guys?
- 5:25How about us? Do we really understand that we
- 5:28need Him, that we cannot live our Christian life without Him,
- 5:33That we need His power, we need His input, we need His
- 5:36direction, we need the pouring of the Holy Spirit over our
- 5:40lives so we can carry on in our journey, in our Christian
- 5:44journey. You see, it's a big challenge
- 5:47for us. I can just challenge you today
- 5:50to take this time. I know how difficult it is.
- 5:53I know how hard it is to take time and walk away from the busy
- 5:58life. You know our mobiles and our
- 6:02messages and responding to everyone and let's just take
- 6:05this time and go at Jesus feet. Sit there and say Lord, I need
- 6:10you. I need no one else.
- 6:13I need you to be first in my life.
- 6:16I want you to encourage me to that.
- 6:17I want to enter. You see, when you enter, then
- 6:20you can have the chance to show him your needs, to pour out your
- 6:24heart and to tell him about those things that bother you and
- 6:27the needs that you think about and and the pressure that you're
- 6:31living under. You just can spend this time
- 6:34putting your heart and then wait on the Lord.
- 6:36Don't forget this one. Wait on the Lord.
- 6:39Let him speak to your heart. He talks back, guys.
- 6:43Yes, he talks back. Continue waiting and wait on Him
- 6:48to respond by voice, to respond by a word from Him directly to
- 6:56you through the Bible or maybe through a message that you will
- 7:02hear through a sign that he will give you.
- 7:06He will give you signs. He have given signs to many
- 7:09people. He give a sign to Gideon and he
- 7:13give signs to many other people. I, I can't think now about many,
- 7:17but let's trust Him that he will do more than we can expect.
- 7:22So please find the solitary time, find this quiet time, I
- 7:28mean work hard to make it real, to find it and spend it at His
- 7:33feet. You will need His anointing, you
- 7:36will need His touch, you will need His power, you will need
- 7:39His Word, you will need His company.
- 7:43So don't waste this time. We are living in the end times.
- 7:48Everyone of us needs those moments with Jesus directly,
- 7:52face to face, listening to His voice, and here it gives Him
- 7:57talking to us down deep. God bless you.
