- 0:27Polly Mertens: Hey, superstars, welcome back Paula here, and no Samantha Pruitt, but we have a guest today.
- 0:32Polly Mertens: I'm super excited to introduce you to Hannah Gatch, and Hannah is from the Center for New Age.
- 0:39Polly Mertens: Hello, hannah, hello, welcome, welcome, welcome, and you are an intuitive and just masterful at a lot of things.
- 0:48Polly Mertens: So let me tell you a little bit of the backstory of who Hannah is and how we came to know each other, because we've only known each other.
- 0:53Polly Mertens: What a week.
- 0:54Hannah Gatch: Yes, not too long actually.
- 0:56Polly Mertens: About a week.
- 0:57Polly Mertens: So Hannah is an intuitive.
- 0:59Polly Mertens: She is at the Center for New Age in beautiful Sedona, arizona.
- 1:03Polly Mertens: That's how Samantha and I came to know her Age in beautiful Sedona, arizona.
- 1:07Polly Mertens: That's how Samantha and I came to know her.
- 1:09Polly Mertens: We were in Sedona for our race and visiting some friends and we're like you know, we should go get our friend who is having her 50th birthday, we should get her a reading and get her all in the woo-woo, because that's what Sedona is, one of the amazing things that you can get in Sedona.
- 1:20Polly Mertens: So we stepped into this wonderful store.
- 1:23Polly Mertens: You guys have to go the Center for New Age.
- 1:26Polly Mertens: It's a must.
- 1:27Polly Mertens: It's a beautiful creek side and it's all that you will.
- 1:30Polly Mertens: You tell me, tell me what is in your store, tell me all the things that people can find there, and then we'll talk about you.
- 1:35Polly Mertens: But tell me about the store a little bit.
- 1:37Hannah Gatch: Of course.
- 1:38Hannah Gatch: So the Center for the New Age is actually located right across from the historic Tilakapaki Shopping Plaza.
- 1:46Hannah Gatch: We're a center, just like its name, that caters to all walks and phases of spirituality and religion.
- 1:53Hannah Gatch: We also not only are just like a retail storefront, but we also have over 16 different psychics, intuitives and healers, so we cater to those who want their own tools to do their own journeys or want someone to mentor or to kind of conduct healings for them.
- 2:13Hannah Gatch: We are locally owned by Anita Dalton.
- 2:19Hannah Gatch: She is the owner and founder.
- 2:22Hannah Gatch: So we're a woman founded is the owner and founders.
- 2:29Hannah Gatch: We're a woman founded and it is a family-owned business.
- 2:30Hannah Gatch: So the granddaughter, daughter are all intuitives and also work there.
- 2:32Hannah Gatch: So it's just such a homey environment and I like to say that anybody that walks through the door becomes part of our soul tribe and our soul family as well.
- 2:41Polly Mertens: I couldn't agree more.
- 2:42Polly Mertens: We're already connected.
- 2:44Polly Mertens: So one of the things that Samantha and I just dug about a conversation that we have with you at the counter as we're just, you know, scooping up all kinds of gemstones and crystals and Kelly's getting her reading and stuff, and it's you guys just go please is just how warm and yummy you were.
- 3:00Polly Mertens: Like you, and I'm sorry, what was the other gal that was working with you that day, that?
- 3:04Polly Mertens: The daughter or granddaughter that's me, Emerson.
- 3:07Polly Mertens: Okay, you two were just like just love buckets walking around, like how can we help you?
- 3:12Polly Mertens: What do you need?
- 3:13Polly Mertens: And it was just amazing.
- 3:14Polly Mertens: So we would.
- 3:15Polly Mertens: When we heard that you guys were having a podcast and I want you to tell me later on the name of your podcast as it's coming up how did you come to be in Sedona at the Center for New Age?
- 3:26Polly Mertens: Where did you come from?
- 3:27Polly Mertens: Like you, I don't think you were born there.
- 3:29Polly Mertens: So tell us the journey and the story, all of it.
- 3:32Polly Mertens: Tell me everything.
- 3:34Hannah Gatch: Of course.
- 3:34Hannah Gatch: So I am not a Sedona native.
- 3:37Hannah Gatch: I am actually originally from Charleston, south Carolina, so 2000 miles away on the East coast.
- 3:45Hannah Gatch: I am 27 years old, I'm a fire sign, so I'm an Aries, I have that energetic passion.
- 3:51Hannah Gatch: But Sedona is actually a new experience for me.
- 3:55Hannah Gatch: I've only been there for about two years now, so I've been finally accepted.
- 4:00Hannah Gatch: There's this local joke where you know, if you've been following Sedona, she either accepts you in six months or she kicks you out.
- 4:08Hannah Gatch: So luckily, I made it.
- 4:09Hannah Gatch: I made the cut, but I absolutely love it and, honestly, faith, surrender and just connecting to a source greater than myself is ultimately what brought me all the way cross country is ultimately what brought me all the way cross country, and we can talk about that story a little bit more.
- 4:28Hannah Gatch: But I moved to Sedona two weeks after vacationing and just visiting there, I had such an intense connection to the vortices that are there and just a connection to my source that instructed me that this was part of my soul's journey.
- 4:42Hannah Gatch: So very, very lovely and I love that.
- 4:47Hannah Gatch: Sedona is a place that everyone all around the world travels to.
- 4:51Hannah Gatch: So instead of me having to find mentors all around the world, it's so cool that through these doors I get to meet so many lovely people from all different walks, phases and all around the world themselves.
- 5:07Hannah Gatch: But initially, what brought me to Sedona was just kind of going through an in-between time of my life, as we all do If it's not one thing, it's 10 others.
- 5:16Hannah Gatch: It seemed like I was just phasing out people, places, things, emotions all at once.
- 5:23Hannah Gatch: That just no longer served me.
- 5:24Hannah Gatch: And I remember one day actually fishing.
- 5:29Hannah Gatch: Fishing is a great time of meditation for me, it's the southern thing to do.
- 5:33Hannah Gatch: And I remember sitting at this pond.
- 5:38Hannah Gatch: It's a pond I frequent often.
- 5:40Hannah Gatch: It's kind of cheating you throw your reel in and you'd catch something in like 0.3 seconds.
- 5:44Hannah Gatch: This particular day I remember sitting there for about two hours not catching anything, and I just remember crying, and it wasn't about the fishing, it was about life.
- 5:57Hannah Gatch: And I just started praying to my source and I just said what am I doing wrong?
- 6:04Hannah Gatch: My heart, my integrity, like I just want to help others, but everything that I'm doing, it's just not working.
- 6:11Hannah Gatch: And I remember very clearly hearing the words that said you're doing the right things, you're just not in the right place.
- 6:18Hannah Gatch: And so I sat with that for a minute and the airy side of me being stubborn says OK, spirit, I'm going to move to a different place in the pond.
- 6:29Hannah Gatch: Again, this is not fishing, but it's more of the meaning behind it.
- 6:33Hannah Gatch: So I'll be darned.
- 6:35Hannah Gatch: I walk across the pond and right where I hear the word stop, and that same discerned voice, I'm like, ok, funny.
- 6:42Hannah Gatch: And that same discerned voice I'm like, okay, funny, because if I cast, it's going to go in the same exact spot that it was originally in, just on the opposite side of the pond.
- 6:49Hannah Gatch: And I was like, okay, god, you say, do it, I'm going to do it.
- 6:54Hannah Gatch: So I cast and I'll be darned.
- 6:56Hannah Gatch: 0.3 seconds I catch something.
- 6:58Hannah Gatch: And that was the idea, that epiphany, that I'm doing those things.
- 7:03Hannah Gatch: I just need to be in a different area location.
- 7:08Hannah Gatch: And that's when the good old dark that I had told you came in.
- 7:11Hannah Gatch: I sit down and I say, okay, spirit, if I'm supposed to go somewhere else, where is this supposed to be?
- 7:22Hannah Gatch: Nothing came through.
- 7:23Hannah Gatch: So, jokingly, I just said to my higher self and my spirit guides wherever this dart lands is where I'm going to go and hopefully get some sort of reset.
- 7:30Hannah Gatch: I throw it and it hits Arizona.
- 7:33Hannah Gatch: And of course I was like.
- 7:35Hannah Gatch: Well, if we're going to do this, if I'm going to Arizona, what is the most spiritual place to go?
- 7:39Hannah Gatch: And, of course, sedona.
- 7:41Hannah Gatch: And, like the United States, so beautiful, so I kid you not, I book a flight.
- 7:51Hannah Gatch: I stay here for a week in Sedona, just thinking that I'm in the right place to get like a reset or a refresher.
- 7:59Hannah Gatch: And as I'm in Sedona, I'm hiking Cathedral Rock, which is one of the most beautiful hikes, and I remember sitting there and just crying in pure gratitude and again hearing that voice say embrace your new home.
- 8:13Hannah Gatch: And in that moment I decided I'm going to surrender to everything that I know and I'm going to trust the process and follow.
- 8:22Hannah Gatch: And that's ultimately what brought me to Sedona two weeks after initially visiting.
- 8:28Polly Mertens: I am just in awe.
- 8:29Polly Mertens: I don't know if anybody listening to this is like what the hell?
- 8:32Polly Mertens: Like I'm just like girl 20.
- 8:35Polly Mertens: So you were 25.
- 8:36Polly Mertens: And you're like, I'm just going to move across the country and and trust this.
- 8:42Polly Mertens: And what was going?
- 8:43Polly Mertens: What happened?
- 8:44Polly Mertens: Like, did you have any?
- 8:45Polly Mertens: Like did fear show up?
- 8:46Polly Mertens: Are you going?
- 8:47Polly Mertens: Ah, maybe I made the wrong decision, you know?
- 8:49Polly Mertens: Did you have doubts?
- 8:50Polly Mertens: Or were you like no, I've done this before a thousand times, I know.
- 8:53Polly Mertens: Maybe you've honed this voice.
- 8:54Polly Mertens: Like obviously it sounds like you're in a deep relationship with your higher self source.
- 8:59Polly Mertens: You know, I don't know what words you specifically like to use, so please tell me how you like to call it.
- 9:05Hannah Gatch: I'm open to any verbiage.
- 9:06Hannah Gatch: Source, creator, universe, god, all of those, I think, are great verbiages for that.
- 9:13Hannah Gatch: But ultimately, yes, there was a lot of fear.
- 9:17Hannah Gatch: That was there.
- 9:18Hannah Gatch: Those natural, adulting human feelings come through Fear.
- 9:24Hannah Gatch: Security came up.
- 9:26Hannah Gatch: How am I going to?
- 9:27Hannah Gatch: You know, move cross country financially?
- 9:29Hannah Gatch: You know housing things like that.
- 9:33Hannah Gatch: When I heard that voice with a certain tone that said embrace your new home, I remember that overwhelming feeling of just bliss and gratitude over me and I like to jokingly say that that was the first time that I prayed correctly, instead of haggling with God or source and saying if you do this for me, I'll do that.
- 9:54Hannah Gatch: After I heard embrace your new home and feeling that overwhelming feeling of just love, I remember saying it physically, out loud I surrender all control, knowing security.
- 10:10Hannah Gatch: If this is how bliss feels, I want to be in this feeling more and, whatever it is that takes it, I promise that I will do it.
- 10:19Hannah Gatch: And there's this quote by Lisa Nichols that says you have to be willing to let the part of you die in order to rebirth the more authentic you.
- 10:30Hannah Gatch: And I was willing to let go of all of my old, the successes, the persona that I had created that really wasn't aligned with Hannah, to restart and at least give her the chance to really unapologetically shine through.
- 10:47Hannah Gatch: And I remember my relationship with sources.
- 10:52Hannah Gatch: I like to kind of test it.
- 10:54Hannah Gatch: It's not that I don't believe it, but I'm hardheaded.
- 10:56Hannah Gatch: I need signs, synchronicities, like all of the messages of you're on the right track.
- 11:01Hannah Gatch: And I remember car is still loaded.
- 11:06Hannah Gatch: I come to Arizona it's before I'm moving into my house.
- 11:08Hannah Gatch: I go right back to that same place near cathedral, and I sit and I just say you know what, god, if I misheard you and I wasn't supposed to come here, I'll go back home.
- 11:18Hannah Gatch: Just give me a sign that I'm doing the right thing.
- 11:21Hannah Gatch: So I'm meditating with headphones on and I see this vision of a tadpole turning to a frog, which to me represents transformation, growth and, like you know, really coming into your new body.
- 11:36Hannah Gatch: And I kid you not, that's the Sedona magic.
- 11:38Hannah Gatch: My headphones pause, I open my eyes and there's a frog hopping right in front of me, Of course, and so that happens to me so often here in Sedona.
- 11:49Hannah Gatch: I just was like, okay, I hear you, I can go move in now.
- 11:54Hannah Gatch: And so much magic like that can happen for anybody.
- 11:58Hannah Gatch: All you have to do is just ask for signs.
- 12:01Hannah Gatch: Ask for something more than just your inner knowing and surrender to.
- 12:05Hannah Gatch: Might be small little things, but there's always little messages encrypted into everything that happens.
- 12:13Polly Mertens: Wow, I love that, I love.
- 12:14Polly Mertens: Okay, I want to go down like a couple of different paths.
- 12:17Polly Mertens: One I want to know more of, like how did you get to that fishing pond?
- 12:21Polly Mertens: I mean with all this wisdom and stuff, because I'm pretty sure you didn't come out of the chute.
- 12:24Polly Mertens: I mean with all this wisdom and stuff, because I'm pretty sure you didn't come out of the chute.
- 12:26Polly Mertens: You know, knowing all the things, like we all have some little baggage or traumas or whatever we go through in our younger life that forms and shapes us, if you will, and for you to have at 25, the things that I'm hearing, I mean I'm just so thankful for our future because you're, you're assigned like good things are coming right, like awakening is happening.
- 12:48Polly Mertens: So what was going on from zero to 25, before you were sitting at that pond?
- 12:52Polly Mertens: Like, what was your life like?
- 12:53Polly Mertens: And then I want to know more of these like tools that you use and how you got there.
- 12:57Polly Mertens: So tell me a little bit about the zero to 25 ages.
- 13:01Polly Mertens: What was it all?
- 13:03Polly Mertens: Sunshine and rainbows, was it, you know, rough?
- 13:05Polly Mertens: What mom and dad Were they there?
- 13:06Polly Mertens: What was life like for you?
- 13:09Hannah Gatch: Yeah, beautiful question For me.
- 13:11Hannah Gatch: What I have to say is a lot of the spiritual awakening.
- 13:15Hannah Gatch: They call it happiness and sunshine, but nobody really talks about the stages beforehand, spiritually speaking.
- 13:24Hannah Gatch: There's a verbiage for it that's called the dark night of the soul.
- 13:27Hannah Gatch: We all go through that, which is our life prior to the ascension or removing the veil.
- 13:34Hannah Gatch: My dark night of the soul luckily happened quite early, I would have to say.
- 13:42Hannah Gatch: I was raised in a Baptist family so it was very in the box, thinking it had to be very much this way or the highway.
- 13:51Hannah Gatch: But I remember actually coming across very early on, probably in my teens.
- 13:57Hannah Gatch: 1 Corinthians 12.
- 13:59Hannah Gatch: It actually talks about the gifts given to man.
- 14:03Hannah Gatch: It goes into wisdom, knowledge, hands on, healing or what we know as Reiki prophecy and different spiritual gifts that everybody has to unlock.
- 14:13Hannah Gatch: And as I started researching into those, I'm like huh, so this is kind of what it means.
- 14:19Hannah Gatch: Um, I do know that throughout my life there were multiple little lot of verbal um.
- 14:51Hannah Gatch: You know you need to be doing it this way instead of this way.
- 14:56Hannah Gatch: Um, and just not really being able to unapologetically speak your truth or feel like you have to be a certain way to be seen or loved.
- 15:05Hannah Gatch: So zero to 25, I remember just living a life that either A wasn't aligned with my authentic self to be seen or to be successful in society's terms.
- 15:16Hannah Gatch: Also to prove to my parents because I wanted them on a pedestal and I wanted to be accepted, loved, understood.
- 15:26Hannah Gatch: I also feel like my inner child kind of knew she was into some of these tools.
- 15:34Hannah Gatch: I started collecting crystals at the age of six.
- 15:37Hannah Gatch: It started with a little tiny piece of tiger's eye after finding it in the sifting bin at Dollywood in Tennessee and it kind of grew and grew and grew.
- 15:48Hannah Gatch: So I always studied kind of metaphysical healing tools but never really plugged them into everyday practices for manifestation.
- 15:57Hannah Gatch: And also too, I remember several times during zero to 25, especially during like active addiction, mental health having these micro moments of hope that came through.
- 16:10Hannah Gatch: I remember one day not around so many good people and I just remember that same voice.
- 16:16Hannah Gatch: It's a discernment, there's a certain tone that came through for the first time ever that said this is not the life that you're meant to live.
- 16:26Hannah Gatch: And I knew this the entire time that I was in active addiction, living in like a community style home.
- 16:32Hannah Gatch: I knew that this wasn't for me, but I also think that I was placed strategically in that location to help some of the other people that were there, even though I was in active addiction.
- 16:44Hannah Gatch: Maybe I wasn't quite at the rock bottom yet and I could hopefully encourage those.
- 16:50Hannah Gatch: I also remember that living a life that didn't feel fulfilling, or I felt guilt and shame that people could see on me, really changed the way that I was looking at myself.
- 17:03Hannah Gatch: So for a while I struggled with lack of confidence.
- 17:06Hannah Gatch: I felt like people could see through me, but I also, at this whole time, was able to manage a productive lifestyle, profession, schooling, all of these things and I felt like a fraud, because behind closed doors I was one person and to society I was another, and in between I knew I was on the right track when I dealt with people.
- 17:29Hannah Gatch: But behind closed doors these things accessed within me what I thought I couldn't.
- 17:35Hannah Gatch: And after eventually getting out of active addiction, I realized that through meditation, connecting to something greater than yourself, you can access that peace, that calmness, the energizing, whatever it is that you need from yourself.
- 17:51Hannah Gatch: And also part of my spiritual journey, too, is finding mentors and, coincidentally, always aligning with people who were more spiritual or woo-woo versus the traditional religious, and also again coming from a family who, again, I tried to prove my worth too, but at the same time I was okay with being the black sheep.
- 18:15Hannah Gatch: So there's this duality that continuously went in my life.
- 18:20Hannah Gatch: But I remember sitting down several times, um, and just asking myself who am I?
- 18:28Hannah Gatch: Who am I to the outside view, but who am I to myself?
- 18:33Hannah Gatch: And I remember, at the age of 19, after hearing that voice that said this is not the life that you're meant to live, I asked myself who is Hannah the life that you're meant to live?
- 18:46Hannah Gatch: I asked myself who is Hannah?
- 18:47Hannah Gatch: And I couldn't say anything more than my name, my age and what I was doing for a living then.
- 18:51Hannah Gatch: And I realized at that moment how can I sit here and create a lifestyle without even knowing who I am?
- 18:57Hannah Gatch: I need to go back to the drawing board and figure out what aligns with me soulfully and most importantly, there is always that quote that says if you hang around the barbershop long enough, you're bound to get a haircut too.
- 19:11Hannah Gatch: Who are the people that I'm hanging around?
- 19:14Hannah Gatch: Not with judgment, but are these the people that are going to encourage me when needed, to spiritually lift me up, or are these people going to influence me in certain ways that lower my vibration and enable these behaviors that I know deep within me are not okay?
- 19:32Hannah Gatch: So it's a whole journey and I like to say adversities, trials and tribulations are spirit's way of saying when you're ready to stop holding the control and you will step back and say, um, instead of saying why is this happening to me, instead of saying this is happening for me and deciphering what the deeper meaning or where you can change, that's kind of where spirit can kind of start coming in a little more.
- 20:04Polly Mertens: Oh, so much to unpack there.
- 20:05Polly Mertens: Oh my goodness.
- 20:06Polly Mertens: Oh my goodness, well said, well said for sure, so okay.
- 20:10Polly Mertens: So do you mind unpacking a little bit of the addiction?
- 20:13Polly Mertens: Like, could you tell us, do you know what, what that path looked like, like, what led you?
- 20:18Polly Mertens: Cause I have a background of addiction myself, so, and Samantha has has it in her family too, and whatnot.
- 20:24Polly Mertens: So what, what was it like as a child?
- 20:27Polly Mertens: Was there, um, were your parents ignoring you?
- 20:30Polly Mertens: Were they, you know?
- 20:31Polly Mertens: You said, the black sheep of the family, and they're Baptist.
- 20:33Polly Mertens: So am I picturing, you know, like little picket fence and everything's done perfectly.
- 20:37Polly Mertens: And you're like, hey, I'm not perfect like y'all, or was it like they were fighting all the time they got divorced, this ruckus household?
- 20:43Polly Mertens: Like y'all?
- 20:43Polly Mertens: Or was it like they were fighting all the time they?
- 20:45Hannah Gatch: got divorced, this ruckus, household chaos.
- 20:47Hannah Gatch: Well, give me paint a picture for me.
- 20:49Hannah Gatch: Yeah, so it's kind of an interesting dynamic, especially if you ask my other family members.
- 20:53Hannah Gatch: Um, I come from a family where it's about comparison your traumas and your unhappiness is not worthy because your cousins or so-and-so has it worse than you worthy because your cousins or so-and-so has it worse than you.
- 21:09Hannah Gatch: So I never actually until my my journey now in adulthood, never knew that I actually came from a true romantic childhood because it was considered the norm and I was always externally told you can't talk about this, you can't feel that way because so-and-so is more justified.
- 21:23Hannah Gatch: But I grew up in, you know, your classic white picket fence home.
- 21:28Hannah Gatch: I'm fortunate to say that we didn't come from physical abuse.
- 21:32Hannah Gatch: Some of it might have been more emotionally or verbal, which is a whole nother wound to get through and I grew up in a house where it was a lot of control, but I think the intentions were to keep us safe, but then went to the extreme.
- 21:52Hannah Gatch: Unfortunately, my mother had gone through some childhood sexual trauma and so that was something that my parents had talked about.
- 22:02Hannah Gatch: If we have a daughter, that is not going to happen.
- 22:05Hannah Gatch: So the extremist way was instead of that happening.
- 22:10Hannah Gatch: They weren't going to allow any possibility.
- 22:12Hannah Gatch: So I grew up in a household where I really was just in my room all the time alone.
- 22:16Hannah Gatch: I wasn't allowed to go over to friends' houses because of those said reasons.
- 22:22Hannah Gatch: I wasn't allowed to go to after-school activities because of that possibility.
- 22:27Polly Mertens: So I was very much in solitary a lot Kind of sheltering you from something that you know could possibly happen.
- 22:36Polly Mertens: Right, you know like, oh the, not the boogeyman.
- 22:38Polly Mertens: But you know, like I mean, and, and granted, you know when somebody's got that in their background, like your mom did, she's doing it out of love, like it's an act of love.
- 22:46Polly Mertens: But you know there's the extremist side to it.
- 22:49Hannah Gatch: Um, so it did inhibit my socializing skills, but in turn, because I wasn't allowed to socialize with people, I really was a feeler.
- 22:58Hannah Gatch: I could feel people's presences or auras and I had to kind of develop those intuitive gifts to know is this person safe, is this person not?
- 23:08Hannah Gatch: And also, you know, being alone like you get to really dive deeper into what do I feel like versus, how do I feel like next to this person and how does their energy affect me.
- 23:21Hannah Gatch: Um so that's kind of part of it too.
- 23:24Hannah Gatch: Um, so then that's where my self-worth was driven on acknowledge, um, you know, accomplishments, um, that was the way I was seen, because I felt like I was kind of tucked away.
- 23:35Hannah Gatch: And, with that being said as well, that's kind of where, in my teens, I started to get a little more freedom car, but yet it was still always over me.
- 23:48Hannah Gatch: They're like you can't do this, don't do that, because X, y, z and, of course, 16, you know, ish is when most kids tend to experiment, and I remember my dad was a police officer at the time.
- 24:02Polly Mertens: So, my goodness, so you've got mom, you know, with this background, and dad a police officer.
- 24:07Polly Mertens: Okay, I get the picture.
- 24:11Hannah Gatch: So he was always talking about.
- 24:13Hannah Gatch: You know the criminals, the people you know that he was able to talk about.
- 24:18Polly Mertens: Fear, fear, fear, fear, fear.
- 24:19Hannah Gatch: Yeah, and he's like drugs are bad, Don't do them.
- 24:23Hannah Gatch: And every time I'd go out I was always questioned what did you do?
- 24:27Hannah Gatch: And so there's that defiancy inside of me that was like I'm a good kid, I have a good moral compass, but if you keep telling me that I'm bad or I will be doing bad things, or this is bad, don't do it.
- 24:41Hannah Gatch: There's kind of that rebellion that's like all right, if you say I'm going to be bad, let me do it and show you.
- 24:47Hannah Gatch: Unfortunately, that wasn't the best route in my case.
- 24:51Hannah Gatch: So I ended up starting with you know, just marijuana, they say, is the gateway drug.
- 24:58Hannah Gatch: And after I got a taste of this freedom, I decided I want to move out, I'm going to go hang out with friends, I'm going to move into the community house, and of course that's when my parents are like no, and at that moment, South Carolina, 16, 17, you're considered a legal adult, there's nothing that they can do.
- 25:18Hannah Gatch: And so from 16 to 19, I did struggle with other, harder drugs, consistently and daily.
- 25:28Hannah Gatch: And so that's kind of where it started, was out of spite, and it was kind of like, if you're going to tell me I'm this person, I'm going to be her and I realized that is totally not the way to go.
- 25:40Hannah Gatch: But once you're down the rabbit hole, you're there and what's the craziest part was during my active addiction.
- 25:47Hannah Gatch: It slowly happens and that's kind of where land slides down.
- 25:52Hannah Gatch: It's not overnight.
- 25:53Hannah Gatch: It's one thing that you compromise, you slowly turn a blind eye to it.
- 25:58Hannah Gatch: It doesn't bother you as much.
- 25:59Hannah Gatch: So here I am at 19 when I had that epiphany that I can't be living this life.
- 26:06Hannah Gatch: I'm living in a house that's disgusting that there's people in and out.
- 26:10Hannah Gatch: I would rather feed my addiction than put gas in my car to go do the traditional, you know teenage things.
- 26:18Hannah Gatch: And I just remembered after that calling of this is not the life that you're meant to live.
- 26:26Hannah Gatch: That was the first time that I really understood how bad this was, really understood how bad this was.
- 26:38Hannah Gatch: Um, because sometimes I think, with things that distract you or alter your brain, it can alter the way that you view things and I think that spirit has always saved me by channeling in, even when I've been at the lower vibrations, to pull me out, and there's always higher guidance for that.
- 26:53Hannah Gatch: And then with the active addiction as well, I realized too, as I slowly started to awaken during that because I was at a lower vibration from what I was putting into my body.
- 27:07Hannah Gatch: Not only was I psychically developing, but I was developing in a lower realm and that's something, too, that we'll talk about with crystals, protection, things like that.
- 27:18Hannah Gatch: But that's also where I felt like addiction really started to get worse.
- 27:24Hannah Gatch: I feel like lower entities can attach onto people mental health addiction, these different patterns and behaviors that they can thrive energetically off of your aura, these different patterns and behaviors that they can thrive energetically off of your aura.
- 27:39Hannah Gatch: And when I started to see and realize that that's also what was like okay, if I'm experiencing these things, I don't want this.
- 27:47Hannah Gatch: So that's kind of the story of how it kind of got into it and I also believe that that's part of the dark night of the soul and then awakening.
- 27:52Hannah Gatch: My true gift is I want to help people who have gone through mental health addiction because I can't just say, hey, it's rainbows and sunshines.
- 28:02Hannah Gatch: After I can sit there and say I've been there, I know how it feels.
- 28:06Hannah Gatch: I'm not just this person with the degree telling you how to work with it.
- 28:10Hannah Gatch: I can relate.
- 28:11Hannah Gatch: But also here's the example of how you can be like outside of this.
- 28:16Hannah Gatch: It is possible.
- 28:18Polly Mertens: Wow, I mean, I think you know I'm just going to reflect this as may or may not be true.
- 28:23Polly Mertens: So you know, correct me if you have a different feeling from inside yourself or inside your body.
- 28:27Polly Mertens: But you know all the work that you were intuitively doing and maybe didn't even realize on your own.
- 28:34Polly Mertens: You know in your bedroom that without you know all the influences, you know strengthen that connection to source and your, you know your higher awareness, if you will.
- 28:42Polly Mertens: So when you did because a lot of people, they don't have that you know, oh, what was that?
- 28:48Polly Mertens: Maybe like three years of addiction and then like, oh, I don't think I want to be doing this anymore.
- 28:52Polly Mertens: Some people, it's like decades, you know.
- 28:54Polly Mertens: But I think you had that channel open, you had that doorway open so those communications could come in instead of, and then A, the doorway was open, so you were like listening for it.
- 29:07Polly Mertens: You had a listening for it.
- 29:08Polly Mertens: And then also, you know, for you to understand, like all these energies at this level, when you're at a lower vibration.
- 29:16Polly Mertens: I mean like just you saying a lower vibration and you're 19 years old, like not a lot of people know this stuff, you know.
- 29:23Polly Mertens: So I'm just so fascinated how aware you are, self aware, aware of more you know, I think it's.
- 29:30Polly Mertens: I think there's been something along your journey more than just picking up a you know a rock in Dollywood that has guided you through all of this.
- 29:38Polly Mertens: I mean the things that we're talking about here.
- 29:40Polly Mertens: You know I talk to people my age, decades older than you, and they're not aware of it.
- 29:45Polly Mertens: So I just want to like acknowledge you for that.
- 29:49Hannah Gatch: And so the question is how can we develop that awareness, you know, if it's not so clear?
- 29:55Hannah Gatch: So how that works is channeling is like your five senses.
- 30:02Hannah Gatch: So we have that gut feeling, you know, that gut feeling of maybe I shouldn't walk in there or what they're saying may not have full truth to it.
- 30:10Hannah Gatch: That's a feeling.
- 30:12Hannah Gatch: That's intuition, so a lot of people listen to that gut feeling.
- 30:15Hannah Gatch: The other one is clear hearing, which is a lot of what I'm sharing.
- 30:19Hannah Gatch: It's sometimes hard to decipher your thought, random thought and spiritual thought, but there's this.
- 30:24Hannah Gatch: It's your voice, you know.
- 30:26Hannah Gatch: But there's a certain tone to it that like there's a seriousness to it, instead of just something that's coming and going.
- 30:33Hannah Gatch: There are other channels, like clear seeing, closing your eyes.
- 30:37Hannah Gatch: Some people have visions or colors.
- 30:39Hannah Gatch: Most people dream at night.
- 30:42Hannah Gatch: That is an intuitive development.
- 30:45Hannah Gatch: You can just choose to do it when you're not sleeping and there are ways to do it.
- 30:51Hannah Gatch: I think everybody has spiritual gifts.
- 30:53Hannah Gatch: It's just the will to want to activate that, and that's something throughout my entire journey was.
- 30:59Hannah Gatch: I always have this will in me to know myself more.
- 31:04Hannah Gatch: But also I have this like feeling of this ticking time clock.
- 31:09Hannah Gatch: It's like okay, if I'm only here this long, I'm running out of time.
- 31:13Hannah Gatch: What can I do differently to this?
- 31:17Hannah Gatch: Doesn't work.
- 31:17Hannah Gatch: How does this?
- 31:18Hannah Gatch: And so everybody can develop that and there's different tools that you can do as well, but the most powerful thing is intention, just asking, or the will to want to develop into this those gifts more.
- 31:31Polly Mertens: Wow so.
- 31:32Polly Mertens: So take us down a little journey.
- 31:33Polly Mertens: So let's say, somebody listening to this, all of this is new.
- 31:36Polly Mertens: So you've got a beginner on your hands and you're like somebody comes to you and says, hannah, like you're so advanced, like where do I start?
- 31:44Polly Mertens: You know, like what, what?
- 31:46Polly Mertens: What practical one, two, three, or start with this, or be open to this, or you know, I mean you said a little bit of it, but like what would you tell that person?
- 31:54Hannah Gatch: So, first and foremost, I would tell them and start off with you are exactly right where you're supposed to be in your spiritual journey.
- 32:00Hannah Gatch: So never compare yourself to someone else, because your timeline is completely different and, as we know, most timelines are not linear.
- 32:09Hannah Gatch: The other thing is, let's get out of the whole psychic.
- 32:14Hannah Gatch: Like you know channeling, but intuition can be something that's just this deep inner knowing.
- 32:20Hannah Gatch: Um, let's start off with purpose or a dream.
- 32:23Hannah Gatch: A lot of us have had a dream placed into our mind or our heart for a reason.
- 32:27Hannah Gatch: Um, a lot of that is intuitive you feeling your soul at a soul's level to understand what it's yearning for, and you can align with those things and develop those skills to make it happen.
- 32:40Hannah Gatch: However, for beginners, think of your clairs or your senses.
- 32:47Hannah Gatch: My first ever psychic experience, I remembered she told me all these different things that nobody else knew and I'm like, oh my gosh, how, how did you know you were intuitive?
- 33:00Hannah Gatch: And she was like I don't know, when I was a kid I would close my eyes and I would see purple spots, and now I know exactly what she's talking about.
- 33:11Hannah Gatch: I don't know if you've done the meditation where, like you, can close your eyes, you just surrender.
- 33:15Hannah Gatch: Sometimes you'll see like a little color that starts expanding and then it goes to another color.
- 33:20Hannah Gatch: That is the activation of visuals.
- 33:23Hannah Gatch: And it's not always color with people, sometimes it's daydreaming.
- 33:27Hannah Gatch: We all have that intuitive gift.
- 33:29Hannah Gatch: It could be driving in the car.
- 33:30Hannah Gatch: You're looking at all the red lights, stop signs, you're driving safe, but you're in your mind.
- 33:37Hannah Gatch: You know whether it's what you're going to do when you go home, or just daydreaming.
- 33:41Hannah Gatch: That is visuals.
- 33:43Hannah Gatch: It's like these little movies.
- 33:44Hannah Gatch: You don't physically see them with your physical eyes, but it's in the mind's eye, if that makes sense.
- 33:48Hannah Gatch: The other channeling styles is again like we talked about the clear hearing.
- 33:53Hannah Gatch: You can ask yourself and develop those gifts.
- 33:57Hannah Gatch: If you get a thought that comes through that really, really resonates, or something strong, you can go to your heart and just ask is this something that means something to me or is this powerful?
- 34:09Hannah Gatch: And revisit that thought and get clarity.
- 34:11Hannah Gatch: And there are other senses and styles, but those are the two easiest.
- 34:15Hannah Gatch: And just knowing too, when you research how to develop these things.
- 34:19Hannah Gatch: Everybody's spiritual practice is individual.
- 34:21Hannah Gatch: What may work for Susie might work for Becky and vice versa.
- 34:26Hannah Gatch: But I like to say spirit, or source your intuition, spirit guides, whatever you want to call it, are like a gentleman.
- 34:33Hannah Gatch: They're not going to just walk in or waltz in.
- 34:36Hannah Gatch: You have to invite them in.
- 34:38Hannah Gatch: They're always around you.
- 34:40Hannah Gatch: You can feel those presences and see the little signs, whether it's numbers, animals, colors.
- 34:46Hannah Gatch: But as you start to see that and invite them to work with you more or to understand them, the antennas get a lot stronger.
- 34:58Hannah Gatch: And of course, there are tools that you can use through meditation, through crystals, through, you know, just researching into different realms.
- 35:07Hannah Gatch: You can ask to access that knowledge and information, to obtain those gifts.
- 35:11Hannah Gatch: Everybody is a psychic in a way.
- 35:14Hannah Gatch: My silly example is you can be in the grocery store line, headphones on, just looking in front of you and all of a sudden you just kind of feel something behind you and you turn around and there's a lady with a grocery store cart right behind you.
- 35:30Hannah Gatch: That's intuitive.
- 35:31Hannah Gatch: We feel those subtle shifts and again, some of them are in your face.
- 35:37Hannah Gatch: Some can be very, very small, but there's deep meaning into everything, wow.
- 35:42Polly Mertens: I want to double click on something you said about the.
- 35:44Polly Mertens: You know inviting them in and they're there.
- 35:48Polly Mertens: So what if somebody's never experienced that Like, how do you, how do you invite them in?
- 35:53Polly Mertens: What do you?
- 35:53Polly Mertens: Because in?
- 35:54Polly Mertens: Because I have a mentor who's very in touch with some of the things that you're talking about and she often reminds me when you're talking or you're asking for help or whatever.
- 36:03Polly Mertens: Be very clear.
- 36:05Polly Mertens: She always says be very clear who you get on the line.
- 36:07Polly Mertens: It's like making a phone call and you want to talk to somebody with super specific advice Make sure you call the right number, or something like that.
- 36:17Polly Mertens: So what does it mean when you say the realm or the energy, or how would you, how would you ask?
- 36:21Polly Mertens: Or what does it sound like when you, you ask or you invite that energy in?
- 36:25Hannah Gatch: Well, first and foremost, what I like to say too is, like you said, call in that telephone line, or I like to say like a TV channel.
- 36:33Hannah Gatch: He said call in that telephone line, or I like to say like a TV channel.
- 36:38Hannah Gatch: Let's say, if you're channel number four, okay, and you want to turn on channel number seven, but you don't have that service or subscription, it's hard to access that.
- 36:45Hannah Gatch: So that's kind of where we were talking about vibration to begin with.
- 36:48Hannah Gatch: So, first and foremost, if you are going to be accessing your psychic abilities, I would work on rising your vibration first so you can get to those higher channels or subscription.
- 36:58Hannah Gatch: That way you're not channeling lowerly things and it's not scary and it's not going to shut off those gifts because it's not what you want.
- 37:07Hannah Gatch: So, first and foremost, how you change your vibration is what you feed your body through foods.
- 37:14Hannah Gatch: Healthy foods have a healthier, higher vibration and frequency.
- 37:18Hannah Gatch: The music that you listen to instead of heavy screamo metal, listening to something that has maybe like some funk pop, you know, or jazz, something that's a higher frequency the other thing is what you listen, put into your mind.
- 37:34Hannah Gatch: Our subconscious really absorbs a lot.
- 37:37Hannah Gatch: Are we using a lot of social media time and just doom scrolling, or are we reading?
- 37:42Hannah Gatch: Those things can lift or lower your vibration as well.
- 37:46Hannah Gatch: So let's say we've been eating healthy, we're meditating, we're doing self-care, we're around healthy people, we're reading, we're at a high frequency.
- 37:55Hannah Gatch: So next is inviting those spirit guides and presences.
- 37:58Hannah Gatch: In how I like to do that is in my own spiritual practice, I like to call upon all angels, guardians, higher beings of light and love to come through and I like to say I like to invite them in and then you can sit through meditation and you can ask them what their names are, what their purposes are and those types of things.
- 38:20Hannah Gatch: Now, for beginners, if that's a little overwhelming, you can also just by asking for a small little sign.
- 38:28Hannah Gatch: Today, I really want positivity to flow through.
- 38:33Hannah Gatch: I would love to see the number 1111 today.
- 38:36Hannah Gatch: And again, it's not testing the universe, but it's showing you your pure power of intention.
- 38:42Hannah Gatch: If you speak it, we can see it, we can feel it, we can touch it, it can come into existence.
- 38:47Hannah Gatch: Once you really start aligning with your manifestations and intentions, that's when we can go inward with more intention.
- 38:56Hannah Gatch: If I want to develop, you know, into healing my inner child, I want to bring out and see who can help me with relining, with my, my healing modalities or whatever it is I feel like I'm gifted at.
- 39:10Hannah Gatch: There are different ways that you can do the inventations and then my favorite way so that way it's not so hard with the senses is for most beginners, crystals are a really wonderful way to kind of bring in a frequency.
- 39:27Hannah Gatch: We were talking about how we have a high or low frequency.
- 39:30Hannah Gatch: That's what we channel in, so crystals can actually be introduced into your field or to your environment that attract certain types of energies.
- 39:41Hannah Gatch: So, for example, this is one of my smudge feathers, but this one has a beautiful piece of celestite.
- 39:50Hannah Gatch: Celestite is a really wonderful stone for inviting angelic contact in stone for inviting angelic contact in.
- 40:00Hannah Gatch: So when I feel like, hey, I'm having a stressful day or I'm about to meditate, I put this specifically in.
- 40:04Hannah Gatch: Or a cleanse to bring in angelic energy.
- 40:07Hannah Gatch: So it's less that you have to intentfully do, you can environmentally bring in those things.
- 40:12Hannah Gatch: There are also crystals to develop your intuition, my personal favorite being a Moldavite, which is a stone that fell from outer space.
- 40:27Hannah Gatch: This is a stone that came from a meteorite collision and it's considered the stone that accesses all higher realms star seed, angel, shamanic.
- 40:44Hannah Gatch: So there are crystals that you can also work with to access and invite those energies in, as we discussed.
- 40:47Hannah Gatch: And of course, there are other stones as well, like we talked about, with protection and certain vibrations.
- 40:53Hannah Gatch: There are other stones, like tourmalines and quartz, that will help ground the analytical mind so you can decipher your thought, random thought, intuitive and also protection.
- 41:04Hannah Gatch: So we have external tools that we can use and it's not just always inward as well.
- 41:12Polly Mertens: Oh, my God, you know it's funny that you mentioned celestite, because I'd never heard of that before, right?
- 41:16Polly Mertens: So a girlfriend of mine and we're going to go out on a little bit of my journey for a second.
- 41:21Polly Mertens: So a girlfriend of mine gave me a deck of cards that long story.
- 41:24Polly Mertens: It has gems, herbs and spirit animals, right, it's called the 13 Holy Nights.
- 41:30Polly Mertens: Maybe I'll share it with you after this.
- 41:33Polly Mertens: So you do it over the holidays, like I think you start on the winter solstice and it carries you through like January 6 or something.
- 41:42Polly Mertens: So it's 13 nights.
- 41:43Polly Mertens: You do it.
- 41:43Polly Mertens: You pull a card every night and it's for the year ahead, so every month, but it gives you a year card and I think you pull three for the year.
- 41:50Polly Mertens: And celestite was my stone for this year and I was like what the heck is celestite?
- 41:56Polly Mertens: So I've got some, you know, I've picked some up.
- 41:59Polly Mertens: I'm like I've got to have this in my life and so it's in my little altar and stuff.
- 42:02Polly Mertens: So I love that you're saying, because that's a lot of what my card reading was about was like inviting those in.
- 42:08Polly Mertens: So there's no doubt that it was supposed to come to the store and we're supposed to have this conversation because all of what you're saying is just like it's popping for me over here.
- 42:15Hannah Gatch: I hope it's popping for you if you're listening to this and you're getting some gems, because hannah's dropping the bombs right now and so with the crystals, though, not only can you invite that energy in, but then you can start working with them and manifestation emotional cleansing and healing which changes our vibration.
- 42:34Hannah Gatch: There are multiple ways you can go about your spiritual awakening, whether it's healing tools that activate and like unlock, through diving inward and dealing with some emotions, and then also sometimes, like in my case, I think, a trauma you know starts to unlock and awaken by showing you hey, you're down this hole, this is what it's going to be like, and you have the decider and free will to continue this or to change.
- 43:03Hannah Gatch: And so everybody's spiritual awakening is different, and that's why I said, your journey may look different, but you're right where you're supposed to be interest in holistic things, looking at something different than your norm.
- 43:17Hannah Gatch: That in itself is creating inertia for movement and for change.
- 43:24Polly Mertens: Do you have any?
- 43:24Polly Mertens: So we talked a little bit about the celestite, because that ring it's a celestite, and the Moldavite for like, bringing in angelic and higher consciousness no-transcript calling in when you let's say you have a goal for something, you know, you have something that maybe it seems impossible.
- 44:10Polly Mertens: Or I mean, you're you know, you had the story of your journey to Arizona, but you just sort of surrendered to that.
- 44:15Polly Mertens: But what if there was something that someone's like man, I've been wanting this thing to occur in my life and I haven't yet had it and I've been waiting and I don't know what to do?
- 44:24Polly Mertens: Or you know, I love how you were in your fishing trip and like, well, you know what's, what am I doing wrong and stuff.
- 44:29Polly Mertens: So what, what is some of the things that unlock manifestation or our ability to remember?
- 44:34Polly Mertens: We're creators.
- 44:35Hannah Gatch: Well, when we think of manifestation, I like to think of like a math equation.
- 44:40Hannah Gatch: Manifestation is our end goal, so the equation to that is inertia, which is like the beginning stages of shifts shift in perspective, a shift in what your intention is or goal.
- 44:57Hannah Gatch: Then you have change, inertia, change, and then you have creation, manifestation.
- 45:04Hannah Gatch: So change is now going into changing lifestyle choices, habits that align more with your short and long-term goals.
- 45:12Hannah Gatch: And so, for me, with manifestation, just like you said, we can manifest anything, whether that's positive or negative, I think the spiritual world.
- 45:22Hannah Gatch: When we think of manifestation it's always rainbows and sunshine, but we can also manifest chaos, um different things in our lives as well, and that's kind of where free will and choice can come into there, to there.
- 45:41Hannah Gatch: So in the case of me coming to Sedona, um, or any case of manifestation, it's the first thought of feeling, feel it as if it's already happened first.
- 45:46Hannah Gatch: Then you can align with is this right for me or is it not?
- 45:50Hannah Gatch: Then, once we um kind of equate that and create the inertia, we can now plug in the changes.
- 45:57Hannah Gatch: Okay, so in that case I had to change the mindset of security, this career that I've had prior.
- 46:04Hannah Gatch: I get XML every two weeks.
- 46:06Hannah Gatch: If I move cross-country I have to restart completely.
- 46:10Hannah Gatch: And I don't know what it is.
- 46:11Hannah Gatch: It could be more, it could be less Also part of that manifestation.
- 46:17Hannah Gatch: So it's feeling it, seeing what you need to change, but then also what aligns and seems familiar to the end goal, to also know that you're on the right track for your manifestation.
- 46:29Hannah Gatch: Um, and so for me, um, with my move cross country, I checked in with my source, um, and said is this the right, you know, journey?
- 46:38Hannah Gatch: And then also part of that surrender was I just was like, you know, if this is supposed to happen, I surrender, I let go of all control.
- 46:48Hannah Gatch: I know that God knows that I need a house, I need a job and I just know that if I'm told to come here, it will happen.
- 46:56Hannah Gatch: And you know, I got free housing my first six months of living here.
- 47:01Hannah Gatch: I got hired at this job that wasn't hiring at the time that I now manage.
- 47:07Hannah Gatch: And so a part of the manifestation is just believing, surrender and knowing.
- 47:13Hannah Gatch: And surrender is not letting go of control and not doing anything.
- 47:18Hannah Gatch: Surrender is essentially giving up, trying to understand everything and sitting with, being comfortable with not exactly knowing what the 100% outcome is.
- 47:30Hannah Gatch: But knowing that if you align with intention, manifestation of the goal that you want in the end, and um, the surrender, things come to you and present in ways that are unexpected, um, that can even be better than our expectations.
- 47:46Hannah Gatch: Um, and with manifestation, I like to say, have standards, boundaries, you know, non-negotiable things that you won't go below.
- 47:55Hannah Gatch: But not not setting an intention or, sorry, setting an expectation, because sometimes we have an expectation of how it's going to outcome to be when we couldn't even fathom it being 10 times better.
- 48:09Hannah Gatch: And that also targets into with manifestation.
- 48:12Hannah Gatch: It's not only creating new things, it's also about attracting, and that comes into the heart chakra.
- 48:19Hannah Gatch: I am deserving, I am worthy, I attract that way if you see all the signs and things that it's possible.
- 48:28Hannah Gatch: But it's another thing to integrate it and to hold it as yours too.
- 48:33Polly Mertens: Wow, I dig that.
- 48:34Polly Mertens: So heart chakra what do you think of when you say heart chakra?
- 48:36Polly Mertens: Is there a crystal that comes to mind?
- 48:36Polly Mertens: Chakra what do you think of when you say heart chakra?
- 48:38Polly Mertens: Is there a crystal that comes to mind or a stone that you love?
- 48:41Polly Mertens: For that.
- 48:42Hannah Gatch: So, when it comes to heart chakra, the first one that comes to mind for me is a really funky one.
- 48:46Hannah Gatch: It looks like this it's prionite and epidome.
- 48:51Hannah Gatch: Prionite and epidome are going to target the heart chakra.
- 48:55Hannah Gatch: And when I say chakras, chakras are like pressure points, but we're our emotion store in our bodies, so that one is all about targeting heaviness, overwhelmingness, trauma, sadness, anything that's not happy.
- 49:12Hannah Gatch: It's all about detoxing it from the heart.
- 49:15Hannah Gatch: And when all of this heaviness or walls aren't built up, that's where we can start to open up, to attract and bring in.
- 49:23Hannah Gatch: And also, too, with the heart chakra that is the powerhouse of self-love, those feelings of deservingness, worthiness.
- 49:32Hannah Gatch: And if we're going to be channeling too, we want to channel out of love, light healing.
- 49:37Hannah Gatch: That's a really, really important one.
- 49:39Hannah Gatch: It's not just in the third eye.
- 49:44Polly Mertens: And I think we're going to have you back on for a whole episode of like all, like we need another download of all these gems.
- 49:51Polly Mertens: I say gems, you know, like loosely, but like like there's so much that you can share with people that can serve them.
- 49:59Polly Mertens: You know, and, and like I started so, my friend, I think, for my birthday last year gave me a couple of stones and I was like, oh, I mean like I've had stones but I haven't really.
- 50:09Polly Mertens: I mean, I know about amethyst, you know as relaxing or something like that, but I hadn't really dove in Right, and so she gave me these three and I and I had, and I was like I'm going to look up what these are all about.
- 50:20Polly Mertens: You know, I got this beautiful one I have in my hand and for those of you that are just listening and not seeing, so the one that Hannah was talking about was this beautiful green kind of picture, a crystal with lots of little facets and stuff, and I've got this one in my hand as a um, it's like a, it looks like a rock, but it's got these striations and it's like black and white, like you just like put like a white rock, and then you had like dental floss or something.
- 50:41Polly Mertens: You painted it black or something, and this is called Picasso, I think Right.
- 50:45Polly Mertens: Or Picasso, something, another right, picasso, jasper, picasso, jasper, that's what it's called.
- 50:50Polly Mertens: Yeah, I just think of it as.
- 51:08Polly Mertens: I think of it as creativity, because when I looked into the stone it was like, oh, this is your creative energy, creative inspiration, like Picasso, right, and you like you're, you feel like you're in a good place.
- 51:19Polly Mertens: Do you have nudges of like going back to South Carolina?
- 51:21Polly Mertens: Or do you feel like like I've got a home, I'm grounded, I'm growing?
- 51:25Polly Mertens: Or do you have inspiration Like where are you going with your life?
- 51:29Polly Mertens: What's next for you?
- 51:30Hannah Gatch: I love that I'm still figuring that out.
- 51:32Hannah Gatch: Every day is a new journey.
- 51:34Hannah Gatch: As far as home, sedona is my home.
- 51:37Hannah Gatch: I've visited family back East several times, and every time I'm there after day three I'm like I have to get back.
- 51:45Hannah Gatch: With that being said, though, what my future entails, and why I have such a zest for it is, I truly understand the power of now Living in.
- 51:57Hannah Gatch: You know, in my early ages you ages not really being able to do much I really just had no will for life.
- 52:03Hannah Gatch: I really didn't want to be here.
- 52:06Hannah Gatch: If I didn't have choice, I couldn't feel happy, and I really never saw myself living past a certain age, my early 20s and now that I'm here, I understand that every day is a new purpose.
- 52:20Hannah Gatch: I now have control over parenting myself and aligning with what I need to do in this life, and I think the eagerness comes from that switch of not wanting to be here too.
- 52:32Hannah Gatch: It's an honor to be here, and I'm doing everybody else an injustice by not doing what I'm supposed to be doing in this lifetime.
- 52:40Hannah Gatch: Maybe that's putting accountability on others, but it really helps me to keep doing it for the collective and also to understanding that every day is a new journey, a new purpose, and tomorrow I want to discover more of who Hannah is.
- 52:59Hannah Gatch: And there's Les Brown's, one of my favorite speakers he talks about.
- 53:03Hannah Gatch: Imagine if you were, you know, towards the end of your life, you're on your deathbed.
- 53:09Hannah Gatch: Imagine the spirit surrounding you are all of the talents, the ideas, the things that you were capable of that God handpicked for you and you didn't and these are all the ghosts that are haunting you of you could have done something with us.
- 53:24Hannah Gatch: I don't want to have a life of regrets.
- 53:26Hannah Gatch: I think that's what helps me motivate.
- 53:28Hannah Gatch: And then also to know that every day, as long as I try something new or keep doing what's working for me, I can build that relationship with all of those spirits of ideas, creativity, you know, encouragement and all of these things that are surrounding me, because we all have our own handpicked, individual gifts, and I haven't discovered all mine yet and I still want to.
- 53:54Hannah Gatch: And the last thing I wanted to say about that too, is just embracing the fact that you cannot manifest a new life, or the life that you desire, at a soulful level If you're allowing your old self, your old life, to dictate and run it for you.
- 54:10Polly Mertens: And I believe that change is really what creates that, wow, and it sounds like you're still guided by those clarifying thoughts, the what did you call them?
- 54:21Polly Mertens: The certainty voice, if you will, right.
- 54:24Polly Mertens: So how do you distinguish and maybe this is our one of our final questions how do you distinguish between you know, that random ass monkey mind voice and just thoughts that you know and I look at it like they're.
- 54:41Polly Mertens: Often, if they're abusing me or if they're fear based, I'm like, okay, that's not coming from a high place, so that's probably not it.
- 54:47Polly Mertens: But still there can be things that are like, well, maybe you should do this, or maybe you should look into that, or did you think about this, or what did that for you know?
- 54:54Polly Mertens: Like just that kind of whatever.
- 54:56Polly Mertens: So how do you distinguish that?
- 54:58Polly Mertens: What are some ways that you do that?
- 55:00Hannah Gatch: Well, first and foremost I want to point off of what you just said Beautiful Spirit is never going to be negative, harmful, any of those things.
- 55:10Hannah Gatch: So let negative, nancy, you know, go away.
- 55:13Hannah Gatch: We'll win by positive.
- 55:14Hannah Gatch: You know, positivity in.
- 55:17Hannah Gatch: And so, with that being said, that kind of touches base back to the chakras, so we have our emotional points and then each of the points have a spiritual activation to them as well.
- 55:30Hannah Gatch: So if you think thoughts are up here in the crown, sometimes, if it's hard to distinctify those different tones or discernment, sometimes we're overactive up here.
- 55:41Hannah Gatch: So that's where grounding really comes in Meditation, earthing even as simple as just breathing and letting the mental chatter kind of slow down so we can start to decipher and discern.
- 55:54Hannah Gatch: And then my favorite crystal actually is great for that, which is the bumblebee jasper.
- 56:00Hannah Gatch: Bumblebee jasper, specifically, is a stone for grounding, so it helps to easier decipher your thought, random, intuitive thought.
- 56:10Hannah Gatch: It also connects to our solar plexus, which is the confidence of knowing, and that's where intuition comes in and that discernment of knowing.
- 56:20Hannah Gatch: Okay, that thought has a power to it.
- 56:24Hannah Gatch: You know whether it's I'm driving and I just get this thought that says go off the interstate instead, and then you go on your phone later on and you see the road that you normally take had an accident on it and you just saved yourself 20 minutes of traffic time listening to that gut intuition, and that will also help to decipher those intuitive thoughts as well.
- 56:44Hannah Gatch: The other thing that also can help with deciphering too is just asking yourself does this feel right?
- 56:53Hannah Gatch: Feeling is such a powerful thing and I think that's where that discernment will also activate as well.
- 57:00Hannah Gatch: If it feels happy, if it feels like it excites you, that is something that's meant for you.
- 57:05Hannah Gatch: But if there's procrastination or I don't want to do that, some of the things in adulthood we do have to do but if it's an intuitive thing, it's from spirit, from source, from your higher self it's always going to unlock and activate something joyous in you, and that is also a great way to know what's discernment as well.
- 57:27Polly Mertens: Too true, too true.
- 57:28Polly Mertens: One of my mentors that I was saying earlier.
- 57:31Polly Mertens: She says if it's light, it's right.
- 57:32Polly Mertens: I love that If it feels light, it's right for you, and that's where we have to translate what we're thinking about or what the thoughts are.
- 57:40Polly Mertens: You know what we're receiving, so so good.
- 57:42Polly Mertens: What else would you like to share with our listeners?
- 57:46Polly Mertens: Anything else that we haven't discussed already?
- 57:48Polly Mertens: That is burning, that you want to share, please?
- 57:51Hannah Gatch: I would have to say it's interesting how people are more comfortable with a life that's familiar but uncomfortable than to deal with the feelings of being unfamiliar.
- 58:03Hannah Gatch: But it has new possibilities that are there to unlock.
- 58:08Hannah Gatch: So I like to say get outside your comfort zone a little bit more.
- 58:12Hannah Gatch: You know, some of these new things might feel scary, but it's still going to have that excitement.
- 58:18Hannah Gatch: But learning to embrace that surrender, letting go of the control and knowing and you know what's there to lose.
- 58:27Hannah Gatch: If you fail, it's not failure because you learn something new from it.
- 58:31Hannah Gatch: It unlocks something within you or by trying that new thing there's a new possibility or a new horizon.
- 58:39Hannah Gatch: That's there.
- 58:39Hannah Gatch: You cannot lose trying something new.
- 58:44Polly Mertens: So true, the land of comfort.
- 58:46Polly Mertens: You know that goes a little bit, so I think we'll use that as our one thing.
- 58:54Polly Mertens: So, thank you, I will take that as the one thing if you get.
- 58:55Polly Mertens: Or is there anything else Like?
- 58:56Polly Mertens: Is there one thing that you would summarize?
- 58:57Polly Mertens: That was a gem right there.
- 58:58Polly Mertens: Is there one thing that you would want?
- 59:00Polly Mertens: If somebody fast forwards this whole episode and they just get one thing out of this, what would you want people to know or understand or hear from you?
- 59:08Hannah Gatch: I would say, if someone was going to summarize this entire thing, is everybody has free will in their higher self.
- 59:18Hannah Gatch: You have the ability to choose or not, to choose to do things in life, but through free will, we can choose to realign a life that's more purposeful and fulfilling, whether that's connecting to a source greater than yourself through modalities, holistic tools, meditation, holistic tools, meditation or to connect to a source greater than yourself to be inspired to manifest a new outcome.
- 59:44Hannah Gatch: If this moment of life isn't um, you know the journey that you're wanting right now, um, to be inspired.
- 59:49Hannah Gatch: You know that everybody has gone through adversities, trials and tribulations.
- 59:53Hannah Gatch: This is not the ending of your story, it's just one of the chapters, and with me seeking something that's greater than myself, letting go of my own power and giving it to something that I know has more power, has been one of the most fulfilling things in my life, and I would love to see if that inspires other people to kind of go on their own spiritual journey, whether that's religious, spiritual, holistic but to seek something to create change and inertia in their lives if they want something more.
- 1:00:29Polly Mertens: Many ways to do that, and so share with us.
- 1:00:32Polly Mertens: You are creating a podcast to come, so what is the name of it?
- 1:00:38Polly Mertens: Or what is it?
- 1:00:38Polly Mertens: You have two, or like there's something about teeth.
- 1:00:42Hannah Gatch: There's two podcasts.
- 1:00:44Hannah Gatch: One is going to be my own podcast, which is called Seeking Higher Grounds.
- 1:00:49Hannah Gatch: I'm hoping to have my first episode out within the next three weeks.
- 1:00:52Hannah Gatch: Seeking Higher Grounds is just sharing more in my story and others about adversities and what specific moment or moments was your no turn back moment of changing your life as you knew it, or to be inspired by what you went through to help inspire others.
- 1:01:13Hannah Gatch: The other one is with Emerson.
- 1:01:15Hannah Gatch: We're going to have this really fun one.
- 1:01:18Hannah Gatch: It's for girls you know the women goddesses called Tea Talk and it's just about sharing worldly things like how certain obstacles people places, things make us feel sharing, as if, like we're talking to our girlfriends.
- 1:01:35Hannah Gatch: It's just an open chat talk, and I also think it'll be really fun too, because we're going to talk a little bit about certain interactions we have at the store not guests specifically, but you know whether it was we learned something new, whether it was from an interaction.
- 1:01:51Hannah Gatch: So it's just all about talking openly, just about you know anything, girl talk.
- 1:01:57Polly Mertens: Girl talk.
- 1:01:58Polly Mertens: I love it.
- 1:01:58Polly Mertens: I love it.
- 1:01:59Polly Mertens: Well, that's a little bit of what Samantha and I enjoy doing on this as well.
- 1:02:02Polly Mertens: You know, there's sometimes there's wisdom coming out of these mouths and sometimes it's just, you know, fun to have a great conversation with another friend, so beautiful.
- 1:02:10Polly Mertens: Well, hannah, I hope people will tune into your podcast.
- 1:02:14Polly Mertens: Please, you know, check back in with us and let us know once you get it live, and we will happily share it and get people subscribing to it, and it's been a delight to have you here.
- 1:02:23Polly Mertens: So thank you for joining me today.
- 1:02:26Hannah Gatch: Of course.
- 1:02:26Hannah Gatch: Thank you for having me.
- 1:02:28Polly Mertens: And so, to our listeners, I want to share with you our, as always, our final closing.
- 1:02:34Polly Mertens: Remember, dear ones, how your life feels is not as important.
- 1:02:38Polly Mertens: I'm sorry.
- 1:02:38Polly Mertens: How your life feels is more important than how it looks, and every day is your opportunity to find your awesome.
