- 0:57Speaker 5: With the punch on your butt, but.
- 1:20Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in. OTB here live from the
- 1:25Speaker 4: Raising Cane studio. Before we dive back into a little
- 1:29Speaker 4: Sealers and Saints, I want to remind you about our
- 1:31Speaker 4: friends over at Ochsner. And obviously October is Breast Cancer
- 1:34Speaker 4: Awareness Month. So Ochsner Health reminds you that early detection
- 1:38Speaker 4: can save lives. Most women should begin annual mammograms at
- 1:41Speaker 4: age 40, while those at higher risk may need to
- 1:44Speaker 4: start sooner. So with advanced 3D mammograms, And, you know,
- 1:48Speaker 4: breast care specialists, as we've talked about throughout the month
- 1:51Speaker 4: here in Louisiana at Ochsner, they support patients from screening
- 1:55Speaker 4: through treatment and recovery. Take care of yourself and the
- 1:58Speaker 4: people who count on you. Schedule that mammogram today at Ochsner.org.

- 2:11Speaker 4: app store. And always remember Ochsner.org is available. What are
- 2:19Speaker 4: you laughing at over there?
- 2:21Speaker 2: I don't even know what's happening in this chat right now.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I was laughing at that. I don't know what's happening.
- 2:28Speaker 2: There's this girl in the chat. I guess she's trolling,
- 2:31Speaker 2: like maybe like an anti-LSU troll, and her name's Tennis Girl.
- 2:36Speaker 2: And they're like making up this scenario where Tennis Girl
- 2:40Speaker 2: and I go to the Sonic across the street and fight.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And everyone's like, Alondra ends in seconds. But then Tennis
- 2:49Speaker 2: Girl in the chat said, who is Alondra? And Mark goes,
- 2:54Speaker 2: your worst nightmare.
- 2:55Speaker 5: Tennis Girl. Also, coming up into your troll about Auburn, like,
- 3:02Speaker 5: stick to tennis.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Your worst nightmare made me laugh.
- 3:08Speaker 4: I don't know this to be factual, but just knowing
- 3:12Speaker 4: Alondra for as long as I have, I think she's
- 3:14Speaker 4: got hands. And they're rated E for everyone.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Everybody could get it. Nobody's safe. But they're reserved for
- 3:25Speaker 2: very serious situations.
- 3:27Speaker 4: I get you. But I still think they're rated E
- 3:32Speaker 4: for everyone.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I would.
- 3:36Speaker 2: If a guy got in my face, I'd definitely smush it.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I'd smush his face.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Smush it.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yeah, like one of those.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yeah, hell yeah, brother.
- 3:47Speaker 2: You're going to face-smush.
- 3:51Speaker 3: All right.
- 3:53Speaker 4: I just can't. All I see is a fist. Smush
- 3:56Speaker 4: face now. You smush it.
- 3:58Speaker 3: All right.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Getting back to some of the talking points here for
- 4:00Speaker 4: Steelers and Saints. Tay-Tay mentioned it a little bit earlier.
- 4:03Speaker 4: The third point here, make Pittsburgh earn its yards on
- 4:06Speaker 4: the ground. Warren and Dow are going to be your
- 4:10Speaker 4: lead backs. That's what we're going to do. assume a
- 4:13Speaker 4: little one-two punch. We don't know which one of those
- 4:15Speaker 4: guys is going to get more carries. They've kind of
- 4:16Speaker 4: been sharing carries if Rico Dowdle was healthy. So you've
- 4:20Speaker 4: been really bad. You've been really, really bad at stopping
- 4:23Speaker 4: the run. These are two capable backs. You've got to
- 4:26Speaker 4: stop them somehow, some way. You've got to make that
- 4:29Speaker 4: 42-year-old quarterback be the reason that you lose the game.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Can he do it? Absolutely. But you can't lose by
- 4:35Speaker 4: giving up yards on the ground. You're bad at it.
- 4:38Speaker 4: They're going to stay committed to it. Mike McCarthy's an
- 4:41Speaker 4: old school football coach. He is not going to just
- 4:43Speaker 4: go away if it doesn't work early in the game.
- 4:45Speaker 4: That has to be something that the Saints take away
- 4:48Speaker 4: from the Steelers. The next point, the young players have
- 4:53Speaker 4: to continue to try to take a role on this
- 4:56Speaker 4: football team. So we've talked about this draft class and
- 5:00Speaker 4: what it hasn't done. So Jeremiah Wright played last week,
- 5:03Speaker 4: Oscar Dell, Christian Miller. Those rookies are coming off encouraging performances.
- 5:10Speaker 4: but it has to be more. All right. Cesar Ruiz
- 5:13Speaker 4: missed Wednesday's practice. The offensive line, we all know, has
- 5:18Speaker 4: its issues. So if Jeremiah Wright goes in there again,
- 5:21Speaker 4: you got to count on some young players. And by
- 5:23Speaker 4: this point in the season, you can't claim, oh, I'm
- 5:26Speaker 4: a rookie anymore. Even if Jeremiah Wright hasn't had a
- 5:28Speaker 4: lot of snaps, they're going to count on you to
- 5:30Speaker 4: be a pro, count on you to be somebody they
- 5:33Speaker 4: can count on. So that has to be Another part
- 5:36Speaker 4: for the Saints that has to continue to grow, develop.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Those young players they drafted in the first four rounds
- 5:42Speaker 4: of the draft because knowing you're not getting anything right
- 5:45Speaker 4: now from your first round number eight overall pick, you've
- 5:48Speaker 4: got to get something from your second, third, and fourth rounder.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Last week was better. It's still got to go up.
- 5:54Speaker 4: And then the last point on the Saints and Steelers,
- 5:57Speaker 4: can the Saints finish if they get a lead? Can
- 6:02Speaker 4: they hold on to a lead? Last week, we mentioned it.
- 6:06Speaker 4: It got real hairy. If you get a lead in
- 6:08Speaker 4: this game, can you salt that lead? Can you salt
- 6:11Speaker 4: that clock? Can you get to triple zeros having more
- 6:14Speaker 4: points than the Steelers? Now, you don't start fast. That
- 6:18Speaker 4: is a problem. But last week, the thing that was
- 6:21Speaker 4: a little bit troublesome was how easily the Giants got
- 6:24Speaker 4: led back in the game. What did you do? What
- 6:27Speaker 4: coverages were you playing? What pressures were you bringing defensively?
- 6:31Speaker 4: You can't have the same formula. This Steelers team is
- 6:34Speaker 4: better than that Giants team. You cannot try to just
- 6:39Speaker 4: get to the finish line. You have to sprint through
- 6:41Speaker 4: the finish line. So that's something I'm watching for. Can
- 6:44Speaker 4: the Saints play with a lead if they do, in fact,
- 6:46Speaker 4: get that lead? This is going to be an uphill battle.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Alondra Tate, I don't know how you all feel about it.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Right now the Saints are going to have to play
- 6:55Speaker 4: their best game of the year. They're going to have
- 6:57Speaker 4: to play their Baltimore game that they played at the
- 6:59Speaker 4: end of that one. for at least three quarters of
- 7:01Speaker 4: this one if they want to have an opportunity.
- 7:03Speaker 5: What worries me is the injury report because we were
- 7:06Speaker 5: talking about that throughout the week. Like, man, Aaron Rodgers
- 7:09Speaker 5: is doing it with a lot of different receivers. Yeah,
- 7:11Speaker 5: none of them are on the injury report anymore. That
- 7:13Speaker 5: means Metcalf, Michael Pittman, Roman Wilson, Jeremy Bernard. They're all
- 7:18Speaker 5: available and that's probably the weakest part of your defense
- 7:21Speaker 5: is that secondary. Now, Martin Emerson, he was named NFC
- 7:25Speaker 5: Defensive Player of the Week. He had two picks last
- 7:27Speaker 5: week in relief of Kool-Aid. So, That's a guy that's
- 7:30Speaker 5: going to have to step up because you don't have
- 7:33Speaker 5: a ton of weapons on the perimeter of your defense.
- 7:36Speaker 5: Your cornerback position is really, really light. Now you've got
- 7:39Speaker 5: four receivers that have shown that they're good this year,
- 7:43Speaker 5: along with Pat Friermuth, who is kind of playing like
- 7:45Speaker 5: a top-ten tight end so far this year. He's been
- 7:47Speaker 5: in the end zone a lot with an Aaron Rodgers.
- 7:50Speaker 5: That's the matchup for me because, yeah, even if you
- 7:53Speaker 5: stop him on the ground, if you don't get to
- 7:55Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers, I don't see that secondary holding up against
- 7:58Speaker 5: these pass kids.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with everything Taylor just said. Like, you
- 8:02Speaker 2: cannot stop the run. And your corners, like, that, I
- 8:06Speaker 2: don't know much about how Jerry, I didn't watch the
- 8:09Speaker 2: last game where Jerry Bernard apparently, like, did really well.
- 8:12Speaker 5: He said a few of those.
- 8:13Speaker 2: But DK Metcalf is another one that is a true threat.
- 8:16Speaker 2: And so, yeah, I mean, I don't like any of
- 8:19Speaker 2: the matchups that we have in the passing game. So,
- 8:22Speaker 2: y'all are right. The way that you have to do
- 8:24Speaker 2: this is, like, you got to get after the quarterback.
- 8:27Speaker 2: He's 42 years old, so you probably can, but. Everything
- 8:31Speaker 2: about the Saints team worries me. Also, like, what happened?
- 8:36Speaker 2: I feel like we used to use the Titans a lot.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I think Juwan had two targets last game.
- 8:43Speaker 4: You're right. Like, early in the season, they were some of,
- 8:46Speaker 4: if not, Chuck's biggest targets. Yes. And Noah Phan had
- 8:49Speaker 4: that two-touchdown game.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 4: It's just like the last couple weeks, it's like milk cart.
- 8:53Speaker 2: And why is Oscar Delp? in there so much.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Because their O-line's bad and they're having to use it
- 8:59Speaker 5: as a blocker.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Why is he in there so much? Are they doing
- 9:02Speaker 2: 13 or they got three in there?
- 9:05Speaker 5: They're just using him as an extra blocker.
- 9:08Speaker 4: I'm trying to get the snap count. I have them
- 9:10Speaker 4: all in my notes right here. The snap count. Noah
- 9:12Speaker 4: Fant played 42 plays in the game. Jawan Johnson played
- 9:16Speaker 4: 42 plays in the game and Oscar Dell played 31.
- 9:18Speaker 4: So that's a lot. It's a split.
- 9:21Speaker 5: It's a split. And when Delp's in there they're having
- 9:24Speaker 5: to use them a little bit more as a blocker.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Cause your offensive line's not holding up.
- 9:27Speaker 4: It just felt.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Like Juwan was a bit of like Tyler's safety blanket.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Like his, okay, let me go to Juwan real quick.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And I don't feel like we've been seeing a lot
- 9:36Speaker 2: of that lately. Uh, maybe people caught onto it and
- 9:40Speaker 2: Kate Kellen changed the scheme up a little bit. I
- 9:43Speaker 2: don't know, but there's just not a single part of
- 9:47Speaker 2: me that believes that the saints can win this game. Yeah. I,
- 9:53Speaker 2: I feel like I'm giving the Steelers a lot of credit,
- 9:55Speaker 2: but I mean to say the Saints are just not
- 9:59Speaker 2: playing well.
- 9:59Speaker 4: I think it's a tough matchup for the Saints.
- 10:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 4: I think just where they're strong, you're weak. It's not
- 10:04Speaker 4: even necessarily the totality of the Steelers. It's just the
- 10:07Speaker 4: matchup against which you're not doing well.
- 10:09Speaker 5: They've also played well while being banged up. They're not
- 10:12Speaker 5: as banged up coming into this game.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Matt is so right. We've been talking about this. If
- 10:17Speaker 2: you don't start the game.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Like, whatever your first drive of the game is and
- 10:23Speaker 2: has been, throw it out of the playbook and do
- 10:26Speaker 2: something different.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Uno card it.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Reverse it. Right.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Do that.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Just go wing it. You don't need a first 15.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Just go wing it.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Hey, Tyler.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Kelly needs to be like, Tyler, you go out there,
- 10:35Speaker 2: you just do whatever you want.
- 10:36Speaker 5: You need a first one. Decide your first play. However
- 10:40Speaker 5: that goes, throw everything else out the window and just go.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Just use a first one. No first 15 anymore.
- 10:46Speaker 4: I don't want to go off too long on this,
- 10:48Speaker 4: but I always thought the first 15 was stupid. It is.
- 10:51Speaker 4: And every coach I ever played for did it.
- 10:52Speaker 5: 15 plays is a lot to just no matter what.
- 10:56Speaker 4: And sometimes it's no matter what. It's based off like
- 10:59Speaker 4: if the first two don't work, it's third down. You
- 11:00Speaker 4: go to your third down stuff. You kind of get
- 11:02Speaker 4: off the script. Then you try to get back on it.
- 11:04Speaker 4: But my thinking was always like, guys, every game is different.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Every flow of every game is different. Every defense that
- 11:12Speaker 4: you face is going to have something different for you
- 11:15Speaker 4: each and every week than they showed on tape. It's
- 11:17Speaker 4: not going to be what you think it's going to be.
- 11:20Speaker 4: So why are we creating these 15 plays? I was
- 11:22Speaker 4: always more in the, hey, let's have first down plays.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Let's have second down and eight plays. Let's have third
- 11:28Speaker 4: down and four plays. Then that's okay. You go to
- 11:31Speaker 4: the little area on your play sheet. Hell, when I'm
- 11:34Speaker 4: calling flag football games, I'm like, all right, here's in
- 11:37Speaker 4: this situation. We need to take a shot. Here's if
- 11:40Speaker 4: we need to pick up.
- 11:40Speaker 5: A third and three.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Here's if we need a two-point play. Here's if we
- 11:44Speaker 4: need a red zone play. I am always more in
- 11:47Speaker 4: favor of that. And you have your staples that are
- 11:49Speaker 4: always in the back of your brain. So if you
- 11:52Speaker 4: get into a situation and you've got to immediately get
- 11:54Speaker 4: on the ball, you've got to go, your staples are there.
- 11:56Speaker 4: And you throw it out there. But the game flow
- 11:58Speaker 4: just changes from play to play in the National Football League.
- 12:02Speaker 4: And so get off script some.
- 12:04Speaker 5: Get off script.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Because the script is not working for you.
- 12:07Speaker 2: It's not working.
- 12:08Speaker 6: At all.
- 12:09Speaker 4: I mean, it's three and out, three and out, three
- 12:11Speaker 4: and out, three and out. And if you don't go
- 12:13Speaker 4: three and out, it's turnover. Or it's maybe a five-play drive.
- 12:17Speaker 4: This team's got too much talent for that. You've got
- 12:20Speaker 4: a quarterback that's banged up. I realize that. But also,
- 12:23Speaker 4: you have a quarterback that can make every throw. You've
- 12:25Speaker 4: got one of the best receivers in the NFL. You've
- 12:28Speaker 4: got a couple of tight ends. Like, you've got these pieces,
- 12:31Speaker 4: but you've got to be not as predictable. Because it's
- 12:35Speaker 4: very predictable what the Saints are going to be in
- 12:37Speaker 4: their first 15.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Super predictable.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Have a little fun.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Eat a little fast food. Drink a couple beers. Yeah.
- 12:44Speaker 4: You know? Maybe we don't go.
- 12:46Speaker 2: You really think Kellen Moore is going to be out
- 12:48Speaker 2: here drinking beers?
- 12:49Speaker 4: We don't go for the green smoothie this week.
- 12:51Speaker 3: No.
- 12:51Speaker 4: We don't go for the kale smoothie.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Go for a chocolate shake.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Yeah. Have them all.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:57Speaker 4: And then wash the cheeseburger down with a couple beers,
- 12:59Speaker 4: a couple Dos Equis.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I'm down with that.
- 13:01Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Like, do something a little
- 13:03Speaker 4: bit different, guys.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:04Speaker 4: Because right now you're so predictable and you're so bad
- 13:07Speaker 4: to start games. You're bad in the first quarter. And
- 13:12Speaker 4: you can't keep hitting your head on this brick wall.
- 13:16Speaker 4: You can't do it. It's going to get you fired
- 13:19Speaker 4: if you continue to start this slow because then you
- 13:21Speaker 4: get behind, you make this cool comeback, and a lot
- 13:24Speaker 4: of times the cool comeback is just short. We saw
- 13:28Speaker 4: it at the very beginning of the season. We've seen
- 13:29Speaker 4: it multiple times with this Saints team. Now, last week,
- 13:33Speaker 4: the comeback worked because you were playing the Giants and
- 13:36Speaker 4: Jameis was bad. And then J.J. came in and almost
- 13:39Speaker 4: made it real interesting. He did make it interesting. He
- 13:41Speaker 4: almost put another loss to your standings there. But just
- 13:46Speaker 4: think about all the times, you know, the Raiders game,
- 13:49Speaker 4: they had opportunities and they just couldn't find it. But
- 13:52Speaker 4: you got to get off script. You got to be unpredictable.
- 13:54Speaker 4: You got to do something you haven't done. Because right now, everyone,
- 13:58Speaker 4: including the Steelers, they feel like they have the book
- 14:00Speaker 4: out on how to stop the Saints, certainly early in
- 14:03Speaker 4: the game. And they do.
- 14:05Speaker 2: And they do. They don't think they do.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Well, they're running defense. Just check. They're 14th in the league.
- 14:11Speaker 5: So they're still in the top half. You're towards the
- 14:13Speaker 5: bottom and running. We were talking about earlier. Get the
- 14:16Speaker 5: ball out of Shulk's hands quick. Short passing game. You
- 14:18Speaker 5: got to do something creative because that traditional is not
- 14:20Speaker 5: going to work.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Spread the carries out. Like, Kendra getting 20 carries. Right. Like,
- 14:25Speaker 4: AK had the best game last week. Yeah, like, people
- 14:26Speaker 4: want to point to– I know CJ Donaldson fumbled, but, man,
- 14:28Speaker 4: he's– right now he is seeing it better.
- 14:31Speaker 5: When people want to point to Kendra's, like, overall yards, like,
- 14:34Speaker 5: I get it. He got a lot of carries. He's
- 14:37Speaker 5: averaged three yards per carry back-to-back weeks.
- 14:38Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying.
- 14:39Speaker 5: Like, he really hasn't been that effective. He's just got
- 14:40Speaker 5: the carries.
- 14:41Speaker 4: He's got the carries. All right. We will take a break.
- 14:45Speaker 4: I talked myself into the Saints during that segment. Maybe
- 14:48Speaker 4: we'll get there tomorrow. Maybe we'll get there tomorrow. Just
- 14:51Speaker 4: if you do something different in the first 15, that's
- 14:53Speaker 4: all I'm asking for. More OTB, a little Chef Michael
- 14:57Speaker 4: Johnson to answer your munchie questions when we come back

- 16:30Speaker 5: Don't you remember anything?
- 16:43Speaker 4: Welcome back in OTV here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Always want to remind you about our friends over at
- 16:49Speaker 4: Tommy's Windows, Doors, and Siding. GoTommies.com. G-E-A-U-X. Tommy's with a Y.com. GoTommies.com.

- 17:00Speaker 4: to the website. See what they can do for you.
- 17:02Speaker 4: They can customize that job. They have a gallery of
- 17:05Speaker 4: work right there on the homepage. You can kind of
- 17:07Speaker 4: scroll through it. See exactly what they can do for you.
- 17:10Speaker 4: But I always encourage you. Have Tommy and the team
- 17:12Speaker 4: come out. Tell them what you're looking for, and I
- 17:14Speaker 4: can promise you they're going to get it done. GoTommies, G-E-A-U-X,
- 17:18Speaker 4: Tommies with a Y, GoTommies.com. All right, let's get to
- 17:23Speaker 4: your munchie questions with our guy, Chef Michael Johnson.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Get ready to tantalize your taste buds and leave this
- 17:30Speaker 1: segment hungry. This is Munchies with Executive Chef Michael Johnson.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Let's eat.
- 17:39Speaker 4: All right, Chef Michael Johnson joins us now. Chef, how
- 17:42Speaker 4: we doing? How we living?
- 17:43Speaker 3: I'm good, guys. I'm currently sitting at Bucky's.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't do
- 17:51Speaker 4: that without getting us like a sandwich now. I know.
- 17:54Speaker 4: A little pulled pork sandwich. Me and Alondra, they hate
- 17:57Speaker 4: to see us coming.
- 17:59Speaker 3: This place is serious, man. I'm surprised every time I
- 18:02Speaker 3: stop in here how crazy this place is, man. It's wild.
- 18:07Speaker 4: All right, so you're obviously, you're in Mississippi. Are you
- 18:10Speaker 4: on your way to Montgomery, Alabama?
- 18:12Speaker 3: I am, yeah. We're taking a little pit stop and
- 18:14Speaker 3: then we're getting on the road.
- 18:16Speaker 4: All right, I can appreciate that. And look, I haven't
- 18:18Speaker 4: seen a Buc-ee's that I'm not going to stop at either.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Before we get into your munchie questions, I mean, what's
- 18:22Speaker 4: your go-to at your, you know, your favorite Buc-ee's?
- 18:27Speaker 3: Gosh, man, you know, like, I haven't really dug into
- 18:29Speaker 3: the hot food yet. You know, I've gotten the fresh fudge.
- 18:32Speaker 3: You know, like, the wall of beef jerky is usually
- 18:35Speaker 3: what grabs me, man. Like, I've been known to go
- 18:38Speaker 3: in there and get one of each flavor.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Ooh, can't have money with that beef jerky, Chef. God, dog.
- 18:44Speaker 4: My son, we went to the gas station last night, Chef, and,
- 18:47Speaker 4: you know, you put your snacks up there, get a
- 18:49Speaker 4: little fountain drink, wife got a bottle of wine, and
- 18:52Speaker 4: they're like, that'd be $ 68. And I'm like, 68?
- 18:55Speaker 3: What?
- 18:56Speaker 4: And the beef jerky was $ 23.
- 18:57Speaker 3: You know what's crazy? I was just sitting down here.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I was waiting on my buddy to come out. They
- 19:02Speaker 3: have a sign out here advertising for help. all the
- 19:05Speaker 3: way up to the general manager of this place. And
- 19:07Speaker 3: the GM of a Buc-ee makes between $ 225, 000 and $ 300, 000
- 19:11Speaker 3: a year.
- 19:12Speaker 4: What?
- 19:13Speaker 3: That's what they have advertised. That's crazy, man.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Chef, are we about to lose you to the Buc-ees?
- 19:23Speaker 3: Holy cow, man.
- 19:25Speaker 4: I mean, Alondra and Tay-Tay just got up to go
- 19:27Speaker 4: run to Buc-ees. I might be with them.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, that's crazy. Like, they're paying their utility team
- 19:34Speaker 3: $ 25 an hour, man. It must be all right to
- 19:36Speaker 3: work at Bucs. Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Man, my goodness.
- 19:39Speaker 5: All right.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Well.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I'm not going anywhere.
- 19:43Speaker 4: But, boy, that's good.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Good paper. Yeah.
- 19:47Speaker 4: Chef, get you one of those, uh, those, uh, barbecue pool,
- 19:50Speaker 4: pork sandwiches and report back to me. Just go ahead
- 19:52Speaker 4: and get one of those. I promise you won't be disappointed.
- 19:54Speaker 3: I'll do you proud. All right.
- 19:55Speaker 4: I appreciate that. Hashtag munchies chef. Since we're playing in
- 19:59Speaker 4: the state of Alabama, what is, I guess the question
- 20:03Speaker 4: is kind of like the way this word is a
- 20:04Speaker 4: little weird, but what is the best food that Alabama produces?
- 20:09Speaker 3: You know, Alabama actually has some good seafood, and I
- 20:12Speaker 3: don't like to talk too good about Alabama at any time. Yeah,
- 20:16Speaker 3: but they do have some good seafood there. Alabama has
- 20:21Speaker 3: some red shrimp, too, that are darn good. They're kind
- 20:25Speaker 3: of sweet.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 3: They're called Alabama Reds, and they eat very well. But,
- 20:31Speaker 3: you know, that's assuming you're close enough to the Gulf
- 20:33Speaker 3: to get the seafood. But, yeah, Alabama has some pretty
- 20:35Speaker 3: darn good seafood.
- 20:37Speaker 4: All right. Hashtag munchies. Chef, I am making a meatloaf
- 20:42Speaker 4: this weekend. What is the best meatloaf recipe?
- 20:46Speaker 3: So we blend chicken, ground chicken into our meatloaf. You
- 20:50Speaker 3: got to have egg and breadcrumb in it, too. You know,
- 20:52Speaker 3: it's kind of like the Eddie Murphy burger. You got
- 20:54Speaker 3: to put some onions in it.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Better than McDonald's.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I've got McDonald's.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Oh, Chef, we might be the only two that are
- 21:05Speaker 4: laughing at that, but, David, that's funny.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Nobody understands what's going on right.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Now.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Sorry, I'm trying to navigate and drive at the
- 21:17Speaker 3: same time. I'm trying to get out of this beast.
- 21:22Speaker 3: All right, go ahead.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Hashtag munchies. What is the ideal beard length to not
- 21:26Speaker 4: have issues in the kitchen?
- 21:29Speaker 3: Well, it has to be under a quarter inch if
- 21:30Speaker 3: you don't want to wear a beard net.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:34Speaker 3: The health codes say that if you're wearing a beard
- 21:37Speaker 3: in the kitchen, it has to be under a quarter
- 21:39Speaker 3: inch to not have to wear a beard net. I'm
- 21:42Speaker 3: not a man of beard nets, so I keep mine
- 21:44Speaker 3: trimmed back.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Hashtag munchies. I'm going to bake some pumpkin bread. Can
- 21:51Speaker 4: I substitute almond flour for regular flour?
- 21:55Speaker 3: You can. I'm not sure of the ratios. Look, guys,
- 21:58Speaker 3: I'm self-admittedly not a baker. I appreciate the question, but
- 22:04Speaker 3: You can, but I don't know if the ratios work evenly.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like with Splenda and sugar. Splenda is supposed
- 22:09Speaker 4: to be cut for cut measurement.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Always add a little bit more of a Splenda in
- 22:15Speaker 4: there for the sugar.
- 22:16Speaker 3: A teaspoon of Splenda is going to go a long way, son.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Hashtag munchies. What is Auburn, Alabama's signature go-to dish, according
- 22:24Speaker 4: to Chef? I don't know. That's a deep cut. I
- 22:25Speaker 4: don't know that Auburn. Is Auburn big enough to have
- 22:29Speaker 4: a signature dish?
- 22:30Speaker 3: You know, that's the thing. We don't really go and
- 22:32Speaker 3: dine in Auburn. We go and dine in Montgomery.
- 22:35Speaker 4: That's true. That's so true. It's like when people ask
- 22:38Speaker 4: you about, like, you know, Starkville. It's like, we stay
- 22:41Speaker 4: in Tupelo.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. Montgomery's big enough to have some pretty good
- 22:47Speaker 3: steak places because it's got gastropubs and stuff like that.
- 22:49Speaker 3: So you can find good food in Montgomery.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Yeah, no doubt about it. Uh, hashtag munchies chef. This
- 22:56Speaker 4: is going to be an early game. Now it's not
- 22:58Speaker 4: going to be at home. It's going to be on
- 22:59Speaker 4: the road. So what should I make for brunch for
- 23:02Speaker 4: the LSU Auburn kickoff at 11 AM?
- 23:05Speaker 3: You know, I'm a fan of Keith, but with like
- 23:07Speaker 3: steak in it, you know, it's something kind of hardy
- 23:09Speaker 3: and I'm a steak and egg guy. Like if I
- 23:12Speaker 3: wake up and I'm having a big game or, or
- 23:14Speaker 3: like a shrimp and grits for breakfast, it's something I
- 23:17Speaker 3: really enjoy for, you know, early morning game. It's a,
- 23:21Speaker 3: easy to settle or even you can even skip the
- 23:24Speaker 3: grits and do shrimp and rice, you know, like a
- 23:26Speaker 3: shrimp creole and rice. And I think, I think you
- 23:28Speaker 3: can make that breakfast be enough to still have a
- 23:31Speaker 3: hearty breakfast with some eggs on the side, perhaps. I
- 23:35Speaker 3: can eat bacon any time of day, so it doesn't
- 23:37Speaker 3: have to be breakfast, you know, but something along those lines,
- 23:40Speaker 3: I think is where my mind settles.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Hashtag munchies. What is Alabama white barbecue sauce?
- 23:47Speaker 3: It's a mayonnaise-based barbecue sauce.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 23:49Speaker 3: It's rich, rich, rich. Yeah, yeah. Yep.
- 23:53Speaker 4: That's why it tastes so good.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yeah, it's good on the palate for sure, but it's
- 23:58Speaker 3: not good on the hips, as they say.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Yeah, bad on the saddlebags is what you're telling me.
- 24:03Speaker 4: I got you. Fair enough, fair enough. I mean, gosh, Jeff,
- 24:08Speaker 4: I love mayonnaise, though. Yeah, I know. Mayonnaise makes a
- 24:11Speaker 4: lot of things better.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Yeah, aioli, you know, like that's the fancy mayonnaise, and
- 24:16Speaker 3: it's just the same on my emotional radar, yeah.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Chef, can you make your own mayonnaise? Is that something
- 24:23Speaker 4: that you do? Yeah, absolutely, man. I've seen, like, some
- 24:25Speaker 4: videos that make it look really simple. Is it as
- 24:27Speaker 4: simple as they make it look?
- 24:29Speaker 3: It's really not that difficult. It's kind of like a hollandaise.
- 24:32Speaker 4: It's an emulsion, so you're using egg yolks.
- 24:34Speaker 3: And some people put the egg white in there to
- 24:36Speaker 3: give it a little silkiness, but you're using egg yolks
- 24:39Speaker 3: and you're... Blending the heck out of it with oil.
- 24:43Speaker 3: When I used to work, I used to work for
- 24:45Speaker 3: Philippe Perrault at this restaurant called Philippe's. And I mean,
- 24:48Speaker 3: we made mayonnaise every day of the week because we
- 24:51Speaker 3: made our own dressing every day of the week.
- 24:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:54Speaker 3: You know, like so, yes, I'm well familiar with the.
- 24:57Speaker 3: with the process. Some people like to put a little
- 25:00Speaker 3: lemon juice or a splash of vinegar in it because
- 25:03Speaker 3: it helps stabilize and coagulate the proteins, which I think
- 25:06Speaker 3: has its worth. And it also has a little tang
- 25:08Speaker 3: to it, which I also like. You know, that's why
- 25:11Speaker 3: I like aioli because it has a little lemon in it.
- 25:13Speaker 3: And I like that bite. It kind of cuts through
- 25:17Speaker 3: the oily, fatty oil.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Hashtag munchies. Chef, have you gotten creative in the kitchen lately?
- 25:24Speaker 4: If so, what did you make?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Well, I wasn't exactly in the kitchen. I was outside
- 25:30Speaker 3: and I was cooking on cast iron. So, you know,
- 25:33Speaker 3: I got married last weekend and I absolutely refused to
- 25:37Speaker 3: let anybody, you know, in Missouri ruin my reception. So
- 25:42Speaker 3: my buddies and I, we made red beans and rice
- 25:44Speaker 3: and we made gumbo and some just potato salad, man.
- 25:49Speaker 3: And then, you know, I haven't, I mean... I'm sure
- 25:54Speaker 3: that I've made something in the kitchen this week, but
- 25:56Speaker 3: it's actually, you know, yesterday, last night and the night before, uh,
- 26:00Speaker 3: we did a cooking demo with the softball team, which
- 26:02Speaker 3: was really fun. And we made burgers bowls and, and, uh,
- 26:05Speaker 3: you know, like power bowls and they, they were doing, uh, uh,
- 26:08Speaker 3: what they call a survivor series. So we're teaching the
- 26:10Speaker 3: athletes of LSU life skills and cooking is one of them.
- 26:13Speaker 4: So, right.
- 26:14Speaker 3: So, um, yeah, a little burger bowl, ground, ground beef,
- 26:17Speaker 3: some in the head that they had the choice of, uh,
- 26:20Speaker 3: starch so you could do sweet potatoes fingerling potatoes or
- 26:24Speaker 3: rice and then build that cook it and then top
- 26:27Speaker 3: it with you know heirloom tomatoes and avocado and stuff
- 26:30Speaker 3: like that and I taught him how to make a
- 26:32Speaker 3: little burger sauce and how to make a little chipotle
- 26:34Speaker 3: mayo so that was fun I don't know how creative
- 26:37Speaker 3: you call that but it was pretty.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Cool that was creative to me a couple more here
- 26:42Speaker 4: chef hashtag munchies what's the superior dry red bean I
- 26:48Speaker 4: guess your favorite yeah your favorite red bean Oh, man.
- 26:52Speaker 3: I guess that depends on what part of the country
- 26:54Speaker 3: you're in, to be honest with you. I don't know, man.
- 27:00Speaker 3: I'm struggling to read the packages at the moment, to
- 27:02Speaker 3: be honest with you. I'm absolutely botching this one.
- 27:05Speaker 4: I'm going to assume you just know by what the
- 27:09Speaker 4: package looks like. More than anything.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a couple of them. There's a blue bag
- 27:13Speaker 3: that I like, and there's a bag with a lady
- 27:15Speaker 3: on it. Yeah, and that's what I have for you.
- 27:19Speaker 4: Hashtag munchies. What's a good pregame soccer breakfast for a
- 27:23Speaker 4: 13-year-old that can't stand oatmeal?
- 27:28Speaker 3: Fruit's always good. Fruit is a quick sugar thing. buzz.
- 27:34Speaker 3: What you're looking to do is give them carbs. There's
- 27:37Speaker 3: two different types of carbs. You have simple carbohydrates and
- 27:40Speaker 3: complex carbohydrates. You really need a little bit of both.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Eggs and rice in the morning is relatively easy to digest.
- 27:48Speaker 3: They mix well together. It gets you a little protein
- 27:50Speaker 3: in there. It gets you some complex carbs. The complex
- 27:55Speaker 3: carb rises a little bit slower but burns longer. A
- 27:59Speaker 3: simple carbohydrate, which you're going to find in your fruits,
- 28:02Speaker 3: is going to rise quicker and then burn faster. And so,
- 28:06Speaker 3: you know, put a little, I would say like a
- 28:08Speaker 3: little egg and rice bowl and then some fruit of
- 28:12Speaker 3: some sort, you know, like I wouldn't say watermelon, right? Strawberries, grapes,
- 28:15Speaker 3: you know, stuff with water in them too because it
- 28:18Speaker 3: helps hydrate.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Yeah, watermelon hydrates, right?
- 28:21Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's not watermelon season anymore, right?
- 28:23Speaker 4: That's true. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:24Speaker 3: That's why. Because we stopped buying watermelon because they're really
- 28:28Speaker 3: not season anymore.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Touche. All right, last one, Chef. Hashtag munchies, ribeye or T-bone?
- 28:35Speaker 3: Oh, man, that's tough. Probably T-bone. You know, I really,
- 28:40Speaker 3: you know, I can do it with or without the clay,
- 28:42Speaker 3: but I'm an idiot for strip, you know, and I
- 28:45Speaker 3: like steak on the bone still. It just kind of
- 28:48Speaker 3: presents well and Some people don't like to cut around it,
- 28:51Speaker 3: but I love the texture of a strip loin, man.
- 28:56Speaker 3: I'll start with the fillet side and warm up there
- 29:00Speaker 3: and then move on to the strip.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Chef, you're the man. We appreciate it. Safe travels, and
- 29:06Speaker 4: I will see you tomorrow in Montgomery, Alabama.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Look forward to it, brother. Y'all take care.
- 29:11Speaker 4: All right, you as well. Chef Michael Johnson, executive chef
- 29:13Speaker 4: for LSU Athletics, joins us every single Thursday to answer
- 29:16Speaker 4: your munchie questions. All right, we will take a break.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Going to start to get to some of your questions
- 29:23Speaker 4: in the chat a little bit early. A lot of
- 29:26Speaker 4: times we maybe run out of time, but since Matt

- 31:15Speaker 1: Champs purple and gold to the core this is off
- 31:18Speaker 1: the bench with hester and flynn baton rouge's go-to for
- 31:22Speaker 1: all things louisiana sports.
- 31:30Speaker 7: All right welcome back in otb here live from the
- 31:36Speaker 7: raising cane studio gonna get to a little ask the
- 31:38Speaker 7: bench here for the back half of the show of
- 31:41Speaker 7: course every time we do ask the bench brought to
- 31:43Speaker 7: you by our friends over at dosecky's always a great
- 31:46Speaker 7: time to go for dose hashtag ask the bench in
- 31:51Speaker 7: a swimming pool chicken fight which pair is taking down
- 31:53Speaker 7: flynn and jake i guess in the building like if
- 31:56Speaker 7: you were to put together maybe in this building.
- 31:58Speaker 5: Yeah y'all are y'all are strong dude i don't the
- 32:00Speaker 5: two people i don't know that there is two yeah
- 32:03Speaker 5: i don't see anybody i don't know.
- 32:05Speaker 4: That there is two i can say this for matt's
- 32:07Speaker 4: Let's see, Matt's what, 41, probably for his 38th or 39th,
- 32:12Speaker 4: I think 38th birthday. We had it in a swimming pool,
- 32:16Speaker 4: and we were all very well hydrated, and then we
- 32:19Speaker 4: started just like pool fighting. Yeah, and Flynn did actually
- 32:25Speaker 4: take down T-Bob, took him down in the pool. So
- 32:28Speaker 4: Flynn's water strength is pretty high.
- 32:31Speaker 5: He's a water bender?
- 32:32Speaker 4: Pretty high water strength there for Matt Flynn. A couple
- 32:34Speaker 4: cold pops in.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 4: And plus, I mean, like, I lost where who said
- 32:40Speaker 4: it in the chat. Flynn's base, incredible. Those ankles, are
- 32:43Speaker 4: you kidding me?
- 32:44Speaker 5: I mean. It's true.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Those bases.
- 32:46Speaker 5: I mean, those ankles are meant for pool chicken fighting.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Yeah, they really are. Taylor on bottom, Musso on top, baby.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Let's go. Let's go. Musso plays dirty, Daniel says. Musso's
- 33:00Speaker 4: just mad and dirty to himself when he just starts
- 33:03Speaker 4: crashing out.
- 33:04Speaker 5: He's got the anger, though. That'll give him a little
- 33:07Speaker 5: bit of an extra jolt.
- 33:09Speaker 4: He does. I'll give him that. I mean, something's not
- 33:12Speaker 4: going right on the remote, and he's just MFing himself.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Hashtag ask the bench. Favorite Auburn game.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Oh, for me, it's y'all's game in 07. 07 was fun.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Linda Bird was great.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Dude, I loved. I'm going to say Cole Tracy game, though.
- 33:31Speaker 5: So I'll go a little bit earlier than that.
- 33:33Speaker 4: I love that one.
- 33:34Speaker 5: It was 16 here, unless she was down 20 to
- 33:37Speaker 5: nothing in that game.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Was it 17? Yeah, it was our 10-year anniversary of
- 33:42Speaker 4: our 07.
- 33:42Speaker 5: And DJ Shark had the punt return. That's a good one.
- 33:44Speaker 5: Russell Gage. Yeah, that was 11 a.m. A lot of
- 33:47Speaker 5: people don't talk about that game. It was a day
- 33:49Speaker 5: game in Tiger Stadium.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Hot as hell in Tiger Stadium that day. That was
- 33:54Speaker 4: an awesome. That's a good one. I was sitting in
- 33:56Speaker 4: the skyline, because at the time, it's the only place
- 33:59Speaker 4: you could drink. in tiger stadium. And we had, we
- 34:01Speaker 4: had a whole family here. Cause it was again, the,
- 34:04Speaker 4: the reunion.
- 34:04Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
- 34:05Speaker 4: 17. Right. It was 17.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:07Speaker 4: So I was sitting in the end zone and up
- 34:10Speaker 4: and I could see DJ's punt return. Like as soon
- 34:12Speaker 4: as he caught it, I was like, Oh, this is
- 34:13Speaker 4: a touchdown.
- 34:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:14Speaker 4: You saw the wall form and you, and you knew
- 34:16Speaker 4: who DJ was and he got to the edge. It
- 34:18Speaker 4: was really, really cool. And then we were down and
- 34:20Speaker 4: then some were saying that the Oh, 17 and halftime
- 34:23Speaker 4: getting the crowd ready to go is the reason we
- 34:25Speaker 4: came back. I mean, dude, Connor Culp. Yeah.
- 34:29Speaker 2: I would, Credit it all to y'all.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Thank you. I appreciate that.
- 34:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, y'all score. Auburn was up 17-0 in
- 34:34Speaker 5: the first quarter. They scored six points the rest of
- 34:37Speaker 5: the way.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a good one. Although the Cole Tracy
- 34:39Speaker 4: game in 18, I celebrated a lot of that one.
- 34:42Speaker 4: That was fun. Cole Tracy, forgotten LSU Tiger that had
- 34:48Speaker 4: a nice short run, but he was elite.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Yeah, because he gets a little overshadowed by Cade York.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Cade York comes in the next year. You win the natty.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Cole was great. Uh, hashtag ask the bench prediction on
- 35:01Speaker 4: trade as greens chances of dressing for the game and
- 35:04Speaker 4: playing a few snaps.
- 35:05Speaker 5: I think, I think it's, I think he dresses.
- 35:07Speaker 4: I think he dresses. Absolutely.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I think that's a hundred percent.
- 35:10Speaker 4: There's so many mind games that these coaches play.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I think lane is the only one playing them.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Is he?
- 35:17Speaker 4: Well, I think there's some other sec coaches too, that
- 35:20Speaker 4: try to hide it. Like drink drinks, gonna play some games. Yeah.
- 35:23Speaker 4: Drink will do it. But I wonder if trade as like,
- 35:25Speaker 4: stay with me here. I wonder if he dresses. Okay.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Is ready to go. Maybe he's 80%, and if you
- 35:32Speaker 4: need him, which I kind of think you're going to
- 35:34Speaker 4: in this game, then maybe you play him.
- 35:36Speaker 5: Yeah, or situational. You can do a spot.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Hey, red area.
- 35:41Speaker 5: Can you give me 10 to 15 plays, something like that?
- 35:44Speaker 4: Any trade as green snaps, though, is going to be
- 35:47Speaker 4: an added bonus, to say the least. I think he
- 35:49Speaker 4: dresses regardless, though. He'll be in uniform. All right. Getting
- 35:56Speaker 4: through a lot of stuff I can't ask on air. Hashtag,
- 36:01Speaker 4: ask the bench, other than LSU, who has the best
- 36:03Speaker 4: color scheme in college sports? I am a sucker for
- 36:11Speaker 4: purple and true gold. Like Washington.
- 36:16Speaker 5: JMU's another good one.
- 36:17Speaker 4: I'm a sucker for that.
- 36:19Speaker 5: Washington's good.
- 36:19Speaker 4: It's a good combo.
- 36:20Speaker 5: Dude, I like the UCLA. I like the UCLA unis.
- 36:24Speaker 4: True gold and black. I love the Saints. Gold and
- 36:29Speaker 4: black is... True gold's hard to beat. Colorado's got great uniforms.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I like they're all black with the gold helmet.
- 36:38Speaker 5: That's great.
- 36:41Speaker 2: I like anything that's all white.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Yeah, me too. Icy white.
- 36:46Speaker 2: When Texas wears all white, I really like that.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I don't mind an all black uniform if black's in
- 36:53Speaker 4: your color scheme. If it's not, get it out of here.
- 36:55Speaker 4: I don't like it.
- 36:57Speaker 5: Who wore all black? I was like, why are we
- 37:00Speaker 5: doing this? Yeah, UCF has great unis too. A lot
- 37:07Speaker 5: like Colorado.
- 37:07Speaker 4: Hashtag ask the bench. What's the craziest thing a teammate
- 37:15Speaker 4: of yours bought? Crazy expensive or just random like a Batmobile?
- 37:19Speaker 4: A Batmobile.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Glenn has a flamethrower.
- 37:24Speaker 5: He does, which is awesome.
- 37:26Speaker 4: That is such a good answer. He does. He legit
- 37:29Speaker 4: has a once upon a time in Hollywood flamethrower.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, he was illegally burning the other day.
- 37:34Speaker 4: He was, and he quickly tried to backtrack.
- 37:37Speaker 2: He was like, actually, he was in a safe zone.
- 37:40Speaker 5: I was allowed to burn here.
- 37:41Speaker 4: I've told this story before, but I think it's hilarious,
- 37:43Speaker 4: and he's one of my favorite guys, so I don't
- 37:45Speaker 4: even mind telling it. So Antonio Gates bought a Panorama Porsche.
- 37:53Speaker 4: Great car. I wanted one, but by the time I
- 37:56Speaker 4: could afford one, I already had a family too big
- 37:58Speaker 4: to fit in And Billy Volek, our backup quarterback, he
- 38:04Speaker 4: also was into Porsches as well. And so he had
- 38:07Speaker 4: this– and I don't know what the language was. It's
- 38:10Speaker 4: like a– let's just call it– I know it's not it,
- 38:12Speaker 4: but like an SS. And he had a Panorama and
- 38:14Speaker 4: had like the SS logo on it or whatever. I
- 38:16Speaker 4: know it's a different company, but just stay with me.
- 38:18Speaker 4: And so Billy knew Porsches inside and out, knew everything
- 38:22Speaker 4: about them. And Gates had the SS logo on it.
- 38:27Speaker 4: And Billy's like, that doesn't sound– like the one that
- 38:30Speaker 4: it's supposed to sound like. Like, it's not as mean. Like,
- 38:32Speaker 4: it's not as loud. It's like, it doesn't quite drive
- 38:35Speaker 4: like it's supposed to. And with some investigating, Billy found
- 38:39Speaker 4: out that Gates had just bought the logo and placed
- 38:42Speaker 4: it on his base package panorama.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:46Speaker 4: And it actually wasn't the model that he was claiming.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Your Antonio Gates used to get the damn luxury package.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Which I appreciate Gates was, like, balling on a budget.
- 38:55Speaker 4: You know, I appreciate that about him. But Billy couldn't
- 38:57Speaker 4: help himself. He's like, I know Porsches pretty well, and Gates,
- 39:01Speaker 4: you bought that on eBay, didn't you?
- 39:02Speaker 5: You're going to take more crap for that. If you
- 39:04Speaker 5: want to get the base model, that's fine. It's still cool.
- 39:06Speaker 4: He fought it until the end.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Shout out to my guy, Hall of Famer, Antonio Gates.
- 39:11Speaker 4: All right, let's see if we can get to one
- 39:15Speaker 4: more before we take a break. Hashtag ask the bench,
- 39:20Speaker 4: what is your absolute worst experience watching LSU football? Last season?
- 39:28Speaker 5: Worst experience?
- 39:30Speaker 4: Last season.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Last season, I was at the Texas A & M
- 39:34Speaker 2: game with my dad and my grandpa, and it was awful.
- 39:41Speaker 2: I was upset the whole game. My grandpa was making
- 39:43Speaker 2: fun of me the entire time.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:45Speaker 1: And then.
- 39:47Speaker 2: Obviously, the aftermath of it, but I think that the
- 39:50Speaker 2: worst LSU football game that I've ever been in attendance
- 39:55Speaker 2: of is Texas A & M.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Oklahoma last year was bad. I was like, the defense
- 39:59Speaker 4: is playing their balls off. What do offense do something?
- 40:03Speaker 5: A little bit of a chalk answer, but you could
- 40:08Speaker 5: see it coming, I guess, which is why it was
- 40:10Speaker 5: the worst for me because I didn't even want to
- 40:13Speaker 5: watch when we sat down. The 2011 Natty versus Bama.
- 40:16Speaker 5: I mean, any LSU fan, if they're completely honest with yourselves,
- 40:20Speaker 5: you knew what was coming before that game was even
- 40:22Speaker 5: kicked off. So, I mean, that was just a helpless feeling,
- 40:26Speaker 5: even like as soon as it was kicked off. So,
- 40:28Speaker 5: hated that one.
- 40:32Speaker 4: I will say the Texas Bowl, where LSU played Kansas State,
- 40:37Speaker 4: and you barely had enough players to play in the game. Now,
- 40:39Speaker 4: every player that played in that game, I will always
- 40:42Speaker 4: appreciate them. It was a John Trae game, right? I
- 40:43Speaker 4: will appreciate John Trae until the day I die. What
- 40:46Speaker 4: he did for the football team that day, throwing for
- 40:48Speaker 4: three touchdowns, by the way. That part made me proud.
- 40:53Speaker 4: But the fact that we were in that position, that's
- 40:56Speaker 4: the first time I've kind of been, I don't want
- 40:57Speaker 4: to say embarrassed. I'm never embarrassed about LSU. But the
- 40:59Speaker 4: first time I'm like, this is not us. What do
- 41:03Speaker 4: we do? How are we playing this game with 38
- 41:05Speaker 4: people on the sidelines right now? And it just didn't
- 41:08Speaker 4: feel like LSU. It felt like it was just pieced together.
- 41:12Speaker 4: And again, everybody that played in that game, I give
- 41:13Speaker 4: them so much credit. So much credit.
- 41:15Speaker 5: It was a late night one. I remember I went
- 41:17Speaker 5: to the LSU basketball game, laughed, and then listened to
- 41:21Speaker 5: it on the way home.
- 41:22Speaker 4: I remember sitting there watching the game with Alex Bregman,
- 41:25Speaker 4: and Bregman's like, what's going on here? I'm like, Alex,
- 41:27Speaker 4: we have like 38 scholarship guys in there.
- 41:30Speaker 5: My goal in that game.
- 41:31Speaker 4: Alex, you are a step away from playing quarterback for
- 41:33Speaker 4: this game right now.
- 41:34Speaker 5: My goal in that game was like, oh, it would
- 41:36Speaker 5: be cool to see John Trayther touch down pass.
- 41:38Speaker 4: That was it.
- 41:39Speaker 5: He did.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Last play of the game. He did. He threw his third.
- 41:43Speaker 4: All right, we will take a break. Going to get
- 41:45Speaker 4: to some more of your questions. We'll ask the bench
- 41:47Speaker 4: to wrap it up, and we'll do it right here
- 41:49Speaker 4: from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Off the bench.

- 43:23Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU football 24-7. You're listening to Off
- 43:27Speaker 1: the Bench.
- 43:32Speaker 4: What a song.
- 43:34Speaker 6: It's been a while since I could stand.
- 43:38Speaker 4: Oh my, one, two, three, four, five. All right, let's
- 43:43Speaker 4: continue to ask the bench. Brought to you by Dos Equis.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Favorite trick-or-treating candy.
- 43:48Speaker 5: I mean.
- 43:49Speaker 4: The next one. Snickers.
- 43:51Speaker 5: I love Snickers in any aspect.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Alondra? Recess. Yes, I mean.
- 44:02Speaker 4: Both elite. Both elite. Just don't give me the strawberry...
- 44:06Speaker 4: The one that's wrapped up looks like a strawberry.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Don't give me the popcorn balls.
- 44:09Speaker 5: Don't give me that.
- 44:10Speaker 4: What are the... Don't give me dots. They don't taste bad,
- 44:14Speaker 4: but I'm not trying to go to the dentist.
- 44:16Speaker 5: What is the name of the strawberry candy? Does it
- 44:18Speaker 5: have a name?
- 44:19Speaker 4: Strawberry candies.
- 44:22Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Nobody likes them. How do they keep making them? A
- 44:41Speaker 4: lot of Flynn talking in the chat. Hashtag ask the bench,
- 44:46Speaker 4: is there any NFL accomplishment that you would trade your
- 44:49Speaker 4: 2007 championship for? Any accomplishment? No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't
- 44:56Speaker 4: trade it for a Super Bowl. Now, Matt would be
- 44:57Speaker 4: a better person to ask this question to because he
- 44:59Speaker 4: actually did win both. I wouldn't trade it because I
- 45:02Speaker 4: don't live in San Diego. I don't live in Denver.
- 45:04Speaker 4: I live in Baton Rouge. I came back here for
- 45:06Speaker 4: a purpose. I came back here because this is the
- 45:09Speaker 4: team that means the most to me. I played for
- 45:11Speaker 4: the Chargers longer than I played for anybody in my life,
- 45:14Speaker 4: longer than I played for Sunset Acres Indians, longer than
- 45:16Speaker 4: I played for the Evangel Eagles, longer than I played
- 45:18Speaker 4: for the LSU Tigers. But it doesn't matter. LSU is
- 45:21Speaker 4: always a place. So to be able to have that
- 45:23Speaker 4: with these fans, with somebody that I grew up around
- 45:27Speaker 4: being from Louisiana, no, I'm not trading that for a
- 45:30Speaker 4: Super Bowl. There's nothing I would trade that for. Hashtag
- 45:36Speaker 4: Ask the Bench. What's the biggest skill you wish you had?
- 45:40Speaker 2: Apparently speaking on the radio better.
- 45:42Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 45:44Speaker 4: Somebody need to catch these hands on the chat.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I dumbed the show down. So I guess I wish
- 45:51Speaker 2: I was smarter. No.
- 45:52Speaker 4: You can go fly a kite with that. Musical instrument.
- 45:56Speaker 4: I wish I could sing.
- 45:57Speaker 2: If I could play an instrument.
- 45:58Speaker 4: I wish I could sing.
- 45:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Yeah. Instrument's good.
- 46:00Speaker 5: Anything with a band.
- 46:01Speaker 4: Oh, if I could play the drums. That'd be a
- 46:05Speaker 4: good one.
- 46:07Speaker 2: I would love to be able to shred a guitar solo.
- 46:09Speaker 5: That'd be sick.
- 46:11Speaker 4: That'd be sick. He says it's called the Grandma Strawberry Candy.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:14Speaker 5: That's gotta be the name of it.
- 46:16Speaker 4: And candy corn is good. Yeah, it is.
- 46:18Speaker 2: I'm here for candy corn.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Candy corn's awesome. I got a pack at home right now.
- 46:22Speaker 2: I don't do candy corn slander.
- 46:24Speaker 4: I love candy corn. Billy Bullock won me a fantasy
- 46:27Speaker 4: football championship back in the day. Yeah, he threw for
- 46:29Speaker 4: 500 in Week 16. Let's go, Billy B. Go, America.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 46:34Speaker 4: That's a real stat. He threw for 500-plus in Week 16.
- 46:40Speaker 4: All right, if you've been dealing with stubborn weight gain,
