- Lucas: Hei, velkommen til Episode 144 of Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. So Lucas, last time we learned 'å se' — to see. I've been seeing things everywhere. Lucas: I love that. Today we're going to learn another useful verb: 'å stå' — to stand. Luna: Å stå. To stand. Okay, I think I've heard that before. Lucas: Yes, it's very common. Say it with me: å stå. Luna: Å stå. Å stå. Lucas: Good. Now, in present tense: 'jeg står' — I stand or I am standing. Luna: Jeg står. So if I'm standing right now, I can say 'jeg står'. Lucas: Exactly. And to ask someone: 'Står du?' — Are you standing? Luna: Står du? Står du? That sounds like 'står' and then 'du'. Lucas: Perfect. Let's practice a little scene. Imagine you're at a bus stop. You can say: 'Jeg står på holdeplassen' — I am standing at the bus stop. Luna: Jeg står på holdeplassen. Holdeplassen — that's the bus stop, right? We learned that before. Lucas: Yes, in an earlier episode. Exactly. So 'jeg står på holdeplassen'. Luna: Jeg står på holdeplassen. I'm waiting for the bus, standing there. Lucas: Now, if you're in a queue, you might hear 'stå i kø' — stand in line. Luna: Stå i kø. So 'stå' is the verb, 'i kø' means in line. Lucas: Right. 'Vi står i kø' — we are standing in line. Luna: Vi står i kø. That's good for grocery stores or ticket counters. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. Repeat after me: å stå. Luna: Å stå. Lucas: Jeg står. Luna: Jeg står. Lucas: Står du? Luna: Står du? Lucas: Jeg står på holdeplassen. Luna: Jeg står på holdeplassen. Lucas: Stå i kø. Luna: Stå i kø. Lucas: You know, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Norwegian, it really makes a difference. A couple of dollars a month is genuinely what keeps these going — buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo, if you've gotten something out of them. Luna: Yeah, it's a small thing that adds up. And we love making these. Lucas: Okay, back to standing. Let's try a short dialogue. I'll be you, and you'll be a friend. I ask: 'Står du?'. Luna: Ja, jeg står på holdeplassen. Lucas: Great. And if you want to say you're standing in line: 'Jeg står i kø'. Luna: Jeg står i kø. I think I've got it. Lucas: One more time: 'å stå' — to stand. 'Jeg står' — I stand. 'Står du?' — Are you standing? 'Jeg står på holdeplassen' — I'm standing at the bus stop. 'Stå i kø' — stand in line. Luna: Å stå. Jeg står. Står du? Jeg står på holdeplassen. Stå i kø. I'm feeling confident. Lucas: Awesome. Practice these, and next time you're standing somewhere, think of the Norwegian. Luna: Takk for i dag, Lucas. Lucas: Takk selv. See you next time, and keep practicing.
