- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: Thursday, December 18th.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: I know I know everybody's fired up about Jaguars Broncos as you should be.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: But guess what?
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: The Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: They have done it.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: They have done the thing.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: The thing that we've all been talking about for the last six or so weeks.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguars resigned, extended, wide receiver, Jacobi Myers, who is on the final year of his deal.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars traded a fourth round pick and a sixth round pick for Jacobi Myers at the trade deadline.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: And acquire the wide receiver who would be a catalyst, a turning point, a reliable weapon for this offense.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now the Jack Wars are finalizing a three year contract extension for wide receiver Jacobi Myers according to Adam Shepter, ties him to Jacksonville through the 2028 season.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: Shepter notes this.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Myers was scheduled to be a free agent after the season.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: No longer.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: How about it folks?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe and also check out genjack.com.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: get some new dov all gear, like the hat I'm wearing right now, help support the channel, look good while doing it.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm absolutely fired up about this one, folks.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even even retweeted this one yet.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: How about it?
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers and Jacksonville for the next three years, remainder of 2025 and the next three years after it,
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: that is just as good as it gets news on a Thursday and also great news, you know, Josh Heinz Allen, he had a cold sickness illness, whatever, also shoulder wasn't at practice on Wednesday, back at practice on Thursday.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: Danny Strigo, ankle, back at practice on Thursday after not being there Wednesday.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: That is great news for this week.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers being in Jacksonville is great news for this week.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: He has done a really good job against the Broncos in his career, but Jacobian Myers being in Jacksonville for the next three years is really good for this week and for the next three seasons.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: That is really exciting.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: So Jacobi is 29, just turned 29.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so obviously not the youngest guy you could have traded for, but it's not always about
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: the number of your age, right, it's ages just a number.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: And Jacobi is playing at an extremely high level right now, just turn 29 years old.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: So this deal is going to keep him around and look, there's probably a out after the second year.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: And again, this is not official yet.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have not announced anything yet, but without him chef, they're sharing it.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: There's no reason for that not to get across the finish line.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, he'll be here through probably like age 32 season.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: He is and I am not being in any way hyperbolic when I say this.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: The best professional wide receiver that Trevor Lawrence has played with.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. does he have more upside than Jacobi Myers?
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: But Jacobi Myers doesn't need the upside because he's the total package right now.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't have that deep speed that everybody covers, but he has everything else you could ask for.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: Size, strong hands, great route running ability, toughness, route and alignment versatility.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a God send for the Jaguar's offense.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: He, along with some other developments,
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: Skillset, drop into this offense, has allowed Trevor Lawrence to target the middle of the field intermediate and deep, much more often with much more confidence.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence' numbers, since Jacobi Amires, got to Jacksonville, are so, so much better.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: Even in the first game that he played with the Jaguars, he caught all three targets.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: And since he has arrived in Jacksonville, he's he's on pace for like eight touchdowns over a thousand if you're talking about like a 17 game pace for Jacobi Myers So it's not just that like he is this kind of skeleton key for the Jaguars passing game He's putting up numbers two he's on pace for over a thousand yards per 17 games eight touchdowns 76 catches or something like that his
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: Reception percentage is 73%, greatly impacted in a negative way by the game against the Colton, which it was just really sloppy weather.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: He did have his lone drop for the Jack Wars in that game.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: Even with that drop, his drop rate in Jacksonville is just 3.6% way better than any receiver Trevor Lawrence has ever played with.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: His contested catch rate right now of 85.7 with the Jack Wars is that going to hold up probably not, but his career contested catch rate is 62%.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: His career catch rate is 70%.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing at an extremely high level, and guess what, he's playing with, you know, did he have Brady at the beginning?
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, sure.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: But since he became a veteran himself, Jacobi Myers, this is the best quarterback that he has played with.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Bar none, Trevor Lawrence, Jacobi Myers.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know the numbers on this deal.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yet, I don't really care what they are.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: And we can do an update on this when the signing is official, which would probably be tomorrow, if I had to guess.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: I guess would be 18 to 20 million per year.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's worth every penny, if not more.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you'd look at some wider silver contracts that have been signed over the last couple years.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's a much better player than some of those guys that are in the mid 20s, much more consistent player.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: especially whichever law and so on in the football.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: They have like a mind-melve thing going on.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: And he's had that with most quarterbacks again.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Anytime you ever receive her that's been in the league since 2019, his career reception percentage is 69.8%.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: His career contested catch rate is over 62%.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the guy is an absolute baller.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: And he hasn't been on great offenses.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: so cool to see.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: Such a great story.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Kudos to James Gladstone, man.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's single-handedly saved the season and look.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: Could anybody, James, Blame, James Gladstone for going into this season saying, alright, we got BTJ, we got Travis Hunter, we went and we got Tim Patrick, we have Parker
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: Would anybody blame him for being like, I think we're doing pretty good at receiver here.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Well, injury to Travis Hunter, BTJ not playing very well, dealing with injuries as well.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Britain's strange was dealing with injury too for, you know, several weeks this year, about a month, a month and a half, go get your guy.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: And it wasn't just like, oh, we need this right now because
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: without a more screwed because we have injuries and we just don't have the the guys.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, no, this is more than that.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: You don't give up a fourth in a six round pick for a 29 year old, then 28 year old receiver on the final year of his deal.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Save the season, massively upgraded the Jaguar's trajectory moving forward.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: on offense.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you now legitimately have the ability if you want to to roll in to 2026 with Jacobi Myers, BTJ, Brenton Strange, could bring Tim Patrick back if you want to.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: I would have no problem with that.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: You could draft another young receiver who you think kind of has that big
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: You look at why they're silver, there's plenty of guys right there.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: You look at corner, Buster Brown said to be a free agent, I think they'll bring him back.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom said to be a free agent.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously you have Jordan Lewis, Charlie and John's.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: But wouldn't be surprised if the Jaguars are like, let's use, let's use Travis a little more on defense.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Let's have him be our number one corner.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying they're going to do that, but that might be the best utilization based on the roster, based on what you got.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see, that doesn't need to be determined right now.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's TBD.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: What's not TBD now is Jacobi Myers, and what they're going to be doing with Jacobi Myers long term.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be keeping Jacobi around, he and Trevor, I mean, this is so good.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: And Demetrius Harvey, good friend, friend of the channel, friend of mine, says, Jack Wars are giving YGC Regicobie Mars a three-year contact extension, a league source confirmed to the Times Union, ESPN on it first, and why wouldn't this just be agreeable for everyone?
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: It just made too much sense.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars showed you love, they went out and traded for you, they brought you in, they immediately onboarded you as their number one YGCver, you have a great connection
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: You have an opportunity to stay here as a top flight wide receiver, top flight young organization moving forward in my opinion, top flight young quarterback.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Make too much sense.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fired up for it.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about there's a lot more moving forward.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in, celebrate this one dovall, celebrate it, again, really appreciate y'all being here, have a good one.
