A beloved bald eagle named Jackie, who captured global hearts through a live nest cam in Big Bear, has sadly passed away at around 14 years old — nearly the upper limit of her species’ lifespan. Found injured and unable to fly after a confrontation with younger eagles, she received intensive care at the Ojai Raptor Center for over three weeks, but her condition continued to decline despite all efforts.
