- 0:21Speaker 1: Our thanks to Jake STORREALI for joining us in our
- 0:24Speaker 1: number one. It's Stegat's, a company presented by FanDuel on
- 0:27Speaker 1: the FanDuel sportsbook.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Danny A. Moondola go to join us former.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Patriot Wide receiver later in this episode, but is he
- 0:35Speaker 1: asked me a very interesting question, two interesting questions before
- 0:39Speaker 1: we got started today.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Mikey A, are you an okay guy? Ok guy? Do
- 0:46Speaker 2: you spell out okay? Do you go with KK? How
- 0:49Speaker 2: do you respond when you want to say okay?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Via tex so many options?
- 0:54Speaker 4: Ninety percent of the time I write okay unless I'm
- 0:58Speaker 4: dismissing you and then you.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Just so wait is it the letter O and the
- 1:02Speaker 3: letter K? Or do you spell out okay ay?
- 1:05Speaker 4: I do not spell it out. Yeah, you got to
- 1:07Speaker 4: be a sociopath to spell it well.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Taylor does look into the zoom and Lloyd's proven.
- 1:15Speaker 5: I think it's just whatever top of my mind, Like
- 1:17Speaker 5: I don't. I don't associate myself as an okay guy.
- 1:20Speaker 5: I don't associate myself as a K guy. It's kind
- 1:23Speaker 5: of whatever I think of at the moment.
- 1:25Speaker 3: But the one that I never do is spell it
- 1:27Speaker 3: out okay A y with a capital O and then
- 1:30Speaker 3: three lower case letters after that is a bit of A.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It's the least efficient of the options available to you,
- 1:36Speaker 1: There's no doubt about it. He just spelled out okay
- 1:39Speaker 1: A why I'm not certain I've ever done that, but
- 1:42Speaker 1: you're saying, Taylor, it's just a feeling for you, right,
- 1:44Speaker 1: Why not just K?
- 1:46Speaker 5: If you guys told me if is. He came up
- 1:48Speaker 5: to me before this and said, why do you spell
- 1:49Speaker 5: it okay? When when you do a text message? I
- 1:52Speaker 5: would tell Ezy, I don't even know that I do that.
- 1:55Speaker 3: That makes sense, That makes sense because like that's why
- 1:58Speaker 3: if you go with K, it feels entirely dismissive or
- 2:03Speaker 3: you're a little pissed.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Off, right it's just a little bit, or you're in
- 2:05Speaker 1: a hurry or in a hurry, yes, three right.
- 2:07Speaker 3: But I very rarely go kay, because I just feel like,
- 2:11Speaker 3: you know, I've gotten into arguments in the past about
- 2:14Speaker 3: tone in text, and I'm like, how do you know
- 2:17Speaker 3: my tone? It's a text? And so if I go
- 2:20Speaker 3: but because I don't normally say ky, like in real life,
- 2:23Speaker 3: if I actually say okay, it's because i've had it,
- 2:25Speaker 3: like I'm just I'm done with that conversation.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yes, do you ever go with a KK? Oh?
- 2:29Speaker 3: God, never A couple of k's got it up? No,
- 2:32Speaker 3: I don't. I get that on occasion from other people,
- 2:36Speaker 3: but very rarely.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Uh so, Mikey, Yeah, you're always just a CA.
- 2:41Speaker 1: You're not spelling out okay under any circumstances.
- 2:44Speaker 4: No, I can't remember ever doing that.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Are you surprised that Taylor did it?
- 2:50Speaker 4: You know, now that you've pointed it out.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Wow, Yes, Taylor spells it out.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Yeah, And I didn't. I didn't want to call out Taylor.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I just saw the group text where Stu God said
- 3:01Speaker 3: K and then two texts later it was capital O,
- 3:04Speaker 3: lowercase K, lowercase A lowercase Y from Taylor, and I'm
- 3:07Speaker 3: just like, I don't know how often I see that,
- 3:10Speaker 3: especially almost back to back text in the same group chat.
- 3:13Speaker 3: That just came to mind.
- 3:15Speaker 4: You know what's interesting is, now that I'm thinking about it,
- 3:17Speaker 4: I think I wanted to be just a K guy, right,
- 3:21Speaker 4: and it kept auto correcting to I and then I
- 3:23Speaker 4: was just sending people random eyes yes, and I was like, no,
- 3:27Speaker 4: they're getting okay. And that's as much as I'll go.
- 3:30Speaker 3: That is one of the most annoying auto corrects is
- 3:33Speaker 3: if I'm just writing a capital letter, please let it
- 3:35Speaker 3: be that capital letter and not I. It's nowhere near
- 3:38Speaker 3: the eye. And I think somebody else said this famously
- 3:41Speaker 3: one time. Hey iPhone, I'm never trying to type heel. Yeah, okay,
- 3:46Speaker 3: stop correcting my hell yeah to heal.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Yeah, to be fair, I am typing heel yeah a
- 3:52Speaker 5: lot Carolina season he is, yes, yes.
- 3:55Speaker 3: But it's he apostrophe lll that mine uh corrects two
- 3:59Speaker 3: nut tar heell?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Wh's that? You will? Yeah? Is that how tar heel
- 4:02Speaker 2: fans talk to each other? He'll yeah, he'll yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 3: It's not what was it the other day?
- 4:08Speaker 5: Just go well North Carolina? It's go heels. But if
- 4:12Speaker 5: you want to, you know, show some excitement, you do
- 4:15Speaker 5: a heel.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Right by the way, while we're on that, Yes, while
- 4:19Speaker 4: we're on that, I'm never saying I'm ducking mad either.
- 4:23Speaker 6: Ah.
- 4:24Speaker 3: So you know what I've done in that, I have
- 4:26Speaker 3: saved a contact that is just f U C K
- 4:29Speaker 3: I N G. And so if you have that in
- 4:31Speaker 3: your context, it will then stop autocorrecting to ducking.
- 4:34Speaker 2: How do you do that?
- 4:35Speaker 3: How do you save a contact? Yes, we can talk
- 4:40Speaker 3: after the pod.
- 4:40Speaker 2: You could save a contact without a phone number, just
- 4:42Speaker 2: put fucking in there.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah, you can put any number and there could be
- 4:45Speaker 3: sub digits if you want interesting.
- 4:47Speaker 1: What were you asking me about movers before? Because I
- 4:49Speaker 1: find this to be very interesting.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it was something that was just read it online recently,
- 4:55Speaker 3: somebody having this debate. I feel like I've heard this
- 4:58Speaker 3: question before years ago. But it's a great and I
- 5:00Speaker 3: think with like I don't know, with tipping culture kind
- 5:04Speaker 3: of going insane. This is one of those topics maybe
- 5:08Speaker 3: is if you hire movers, yes, are you supposed to help?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Are you supposed to assist? Because the person who posted
- 5:15Speaker 3: this said I definitely wanted to because I didn't want
- 5:18Speaker 3: the movers to think I was soft, which I've never
- 5:21Speaker 3: even thought about that soft. I just think, hey, I
- 5:23Speaker 3: want to be helpful, I want to get this done
- 5:25Speaker 3: as fast as possible, but soft as weird. But are
- 5:27Speaker 3: you supposed to help the movers? Because I am not.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Wait, so the movers are guilting that person into helping them.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I mean, I think movers in general are not gonna
- 5:35Speaker 3: say anything one way or the other. If you're helping,
- 5:38Speaker 3: you're making their job easier. So why are they gonna
- 5:41Speaker 3: say anything if you're not helping. They know you're not
- 5:43Speaker 3: required to, so they're not gonna say anything.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I don't think they like people who help because they
- 5:47Speaker 1: want time to go by, right.
- 5:49Speaker 2: They want the move to be as long as possible.
- 5:51Speaker 1: And if you're chipping in and then you get a
- 5:53Speaker 1: couple of family members to chip in, maybe a friend
- 5:55Speaker 1: or two to chip in, all of a sudden, that
- 5:57Speaker 1: move went from eight hours to four and less money
- 6:00Speaker 1: for them.
- 6:01Speaker 5: From my experience, this is something that should be listed
- 6:04Speaker 5: in the job posting and reflected in the pricing because
- 6:09Speaker 5: sometimes I've booked somebody and they're like, I'm gonna have
- 6:11Speaker 5: somebody come out there with me. But if I do
- 6:13Speaker 5: a move and it's just one person, I kind of
- 6:16Speaker 5: go in with the understanding I have to help this
- 6:18Speaker 5: guy because it's like you're moving betting and couches.
- 6:23Speaker 3: It should be on the.
- 6:26Speaker 5: Person who's doing the move to kind of establish does
- 6:29Speaker 5: he need help or does he not need it?
- 6:31Speaker 3: Well, I've never and I've hired movers before, it never
- 6:34Speaker 3: has one gentleman showed up. It's allways a team yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 3: two or three ye sometimes four yeah sometimes The only
- 6:41Speaker 3: reason I would say that they don't want you to
- 6:43Speaker 3: help is for like insurance purposes or claims purposes. Right
- 6:47Speaker 3: if you break something and you try to hide it
- 6:50Speaker 3: or scratch and then you know, you get to the
- 6:52Speaker 3: new location and be like, hey, you guys mess this up.
- 6:54Speaker 3: You owe me for this, They'll be like, no, no,
- 6:55Speaker 3: that was you. So you have that whole legal situation
- 6:58Speaker 3: going on. But outside of that, I can't think of
- 6:59Speaker 3: a reason why they would say, don't help.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I'm not lifting a finger. I mean, I gotta be
- 7:03Speaker 2: honest with you. I hired you. You're a mover. I
- 7:06Speaker 2: hired you to move my stuff from point A to
- 7:09Speaker 2: point B. Move it. Why would I help you out?
- 7:12Speaker 2: It's like you hire a driver and then midway through
- 7:15Speaker 2: your drive, he's like, hey, can't do it anymore. I'm
- 7:18Speaker 2: a little bit tired. Need some help. You drive the
- 7:20Speaker 2: rest of the way, Get the hell out of here.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I hired you to be a driver, dude. Not only that,
- 7:24Speaker 3: but like you pay for it based on the tell
- 7:27Speaker 3: You tell them how much ahead of time you have,
- 7:30Speaker 3: you know, whatever, two bedrooms, a dining room, a living room.
- 7:33Speaker 3: They assess how much time that's going to take. And
- 7:36Speaker 3: that's how they charge you. If you end up helping
- 7:38Speaker 3: them and it shortens their work time, then you're paying
- 7:42Speaker 3: for more than what you got from them. Yes, so
- 7:45Speaker 3: not only am I, and this has changed over the years.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I didn't do this initially. Not only am I not helping,
- 7:51Speaker 3: but they're packing for me, Like I'm hey, that whole
- 7:54Speaker 3: closet over there, put that in a wardrobe box please,
- 7:56Speaker 3: and then just make them do everything for you.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Yes, I'm directing traffic. I'm not lifting a finger though,
- 8:01Speaker 1: I mean, and I'm happy to direct traffic. I'm happy
- 8:03Speaker 1: to buy him lunch. I'm happy to get him a
- 8:05Speaker 1: couple of pizzas. What I'm not doing is moving.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Yeah. In fact, I want to be as far away
- 8:12Speaker 3: from them while they're working hard as possible so they
- 8:14Speaker 3: don't look at me or even like come in my
- 8:16Speaker 3: direction dripping sweat and make me feel guilty. Now I'm
- 8:19Speaker 3: gonna be in the kitchen just staring out the window.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Moving in jail, and moving in general. Though as a scam, right,
- 8:27Speaker 1: there's always an up cell. Right, they needed more boxes,
- 8:30Speaker 1: they needed more bubble wrap. It took more time than
- 8:32Speaker 1: they expected, and your four hundred dollars move suddenly at
- 8:36Speaker 1: the end goes to like a thousand.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I've never thought about it being a scam every just
- 8:41Speaker 3: because I love it so much. I hate moving, so
- 8:44Speaker 3: hiring movers is like the best relief of anything I
- 8:48Speaker 3: could ever do.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So you're like, hey, scam me.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd rather retile my entire roof right than move
- 8:54Speaker 3: my own furniture from one place to another.
- 8:57Speaker 5: Is he The point you just made is the most
- 8:58Speaker 5: important thing, because I think if you have disposable income,
- 9:03Speaker 5: paying for movers is the best bang for your buck
- 9:07Speaker 5: ever where. Every time I've had a move by myself,
- 9:11Speaker 5: and I've been in charge of loading up the truck,
- 9:13Speaker 5: unloading the truck, getting everything into the apartment, if you
- 9:16Speaker 5: have if you live in New York City and you
- 9:18Speaker 5: have a walk up and you're carrying all these boxes
- 9:20Speaker 5: up an apartment. The second I move into a place,
- 9:25Speaker 5: every time that I've had to do it myself, my
- 9:28Speaker 5: first thought is I am not moving for another five years.
- 9:31Speaker 5: I am planted in this apartment like a flag saying
- 9:35Speaker 5: I am not leaving for the foreseeable future.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I really have The mover's union isn't listening because they
- 9:40Speaker 3: feel like they have a case to raise prices altogether.
- 9:42Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm going to raise them anyway, probably, trust Right.
- 9:46Speaker 3: The last time I moved by myself, it was two people,
- 9:49Speaker 3: me and somebody else and it was a third floor
- 9:53Speaker 3: apartment we were moving out of and no elevator, and
- 9:56Speaker 3: we did it all ourselves. I was like, this is
- 9:59Speaker 3: the last it was moving into a house. I didn't
- 10:01Speaker 3: have one story house. I didn't have to worry about
- 10:03Speaker 3: stairs moving in. But that was arguably the worst experience
- 10:06Speaker 3: of my life.
- 10:07Speaker 1: There's always a captain on the moving team, right, like
- 10:10Speaker 1: the guy you got to deal with, the guy you
- 10:11Speaker 1: got to do business with, the guy who's.
- 10:13Speaker 3: About to rip you off. There's always one talkative one
- 10:17Speaker 3: and two or three people who never say anything.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yes, do you buy him lunch?
- 10:21Speaker 3: Of course you do, right, Honestly, I have some cold
- 10:24Speaker 3: water ready and that's about it. If they didn't eat
- 10:26Speaker 3: early or soon enough for this job, I'm sorry.
- 10:28Speaker 1: That's on your schedule, right, Mike, Yeah, you buying the
- 10:31Speaker 1: mover's lunch. I mean I kind of feel like you
- 10:33Speaker 1: have to.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Know absolutely, yes, absolutely, but.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It slows the moved dot and you're on the clock,
- 10:39Speaker 2: you know, I'm like, I order moons.
- 10:40Speaker 4: I'll get it for you. I'll order it when you've
- 10:42Speaker 4: got about a half hour left.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yes, i'll feed it to you while you move the couch.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Yes, I'll order lunch for myself and make them go
- 10:49Speaker 3: faster because they're smelling it and are getting hungry.
- 10:52Speaker 5: The same camp of where if you have money, you're
- 10:55Speaker 5: hiring people to move. I've reached that point in terms
- 10:59Speaker 5: of anything handier around the apartment where I'm not. I'm
- 11:02Speaker 5: not mounting anything to the wall. I'm not building any
- 11:05Speaker 5: furniture for Mikeia. The last time I bought furniture from Ikea, yeah,
- 11:09Speaker 5: I was like, I could follow instructions. Yeah, And I'm
- 11:12Speaker 5: looking at all the pieces and yeah, I'm looking at
- 11:15Speaker 5: all the pieces and this piece is labeled Ay, this
- 11:17Speaker 5: piece is labeled h I'm flipping through the manual. There's,
- 11:20Speaker 5: there's It's basically a Harry Potter book, trying to get
- 11:23Speaker 5: through all these instructions.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 5: And I just turned and I said, I'm going to
- 11:27Speaker 5: task rab it. I'm hiring somebody to build this.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Or next time you buy fully assembled, right, I mean.
- 11:32Speaker 3: It is so helpful to have a handy person in
- 11:34Speaker 3: your household.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I hate a handy person though. They make it look well,
- 11:37Speaker 1: they make it look so easy.
- 11:39Speaker 2: They do they do.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Anthony is super handy for me, so in the house,
- 11:43Speaker 3: and so I'm always like, if so recently, I'd say recently,
- 11:47Speaker 3: five or six months ago, our dryer was on the
- 11:50Speaker 3: fritz and how is that a phrase? On the fritz?
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:52Speaker 3: Okay? And for like three or four weeks, I just
- 11:57Speaker 3: I would wash clothes and then take get to the
- 12:00Speaker 3: coin laundry to dry and come back. And after about
- 12:03Speaker 3: four weeks, one day I just came home from work
- 12:06Speaker 3: and I see the dryer on the ground and he's
- 12:08Speaker 3: fixing it. And I'm just like, is it fixed? And
- 12:12Speaker 3: he said, yeah, why didn't you do this a month ago?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Why haven't you let me go to the dry And
- 12:18Speaker 3: so I'm just like, yeah, this is great. Anytime anything
- 12:21Speaker 3: breaks or anytime anything is just not working properly, I'm like,
- 12:25Speaker 3: why'd you go fix that?
- 12:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 12:28Speaker 5: Athletes that cannote dysfunction Taylor Fritz, Wow, that.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Could be that could be a great I thought you
- 12:35Speaker 1: were gonna do athletes that canote a handyman or.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Something like that. What do you got, Mike?
- 12:41Speaker 4: What's worse? Stu gots than all that is. My father
- 12:46Speaker 4: in law is a handyman and I am one hundred
- 12:48Speaker 4: percent not right. So if you want to just feel
- 12:50Speaker 4: like less of a man where he has to come
- 12:53Speaker 4: over to save his daughter from my ineptitude to fix things, yes,
- 12:57Speaker 4: oh my, And he's like, yeah, just hand me that
- 13:00Speaker 4: socket wrench, right, And I'm like, you're you're You're gonna
- 13:03Speaker 4: have to point at that, which I will happily hand
- 13:07Speaker 4: it to you.
- 13:07Speaker 2: You're his assistant. Yes, how many will?
- 13:09Speaker 4: I will hold the light steady, I promise, but like
- 13:12Speaker 4: I'm not, I'm useless.
- 13:15Speaker 2: How many times do you think your wife has told
- 13:17Speaker 2: your father in law or how many times do you
- 13:20Speaker 2: think the father in law has told your wife, Hey,
- 13:21Speaker 2: have Mikey do it?
- 13:23Speaker 4: I assume daily. I assume daily that he has something
- 13:27Speaker 4: to say, right, and she just kind of sighs and
- 13:29Speaker 4: is like he can't, right, he doesn't know. Like I
- 13:32Speaker 4: will pick things up and put them down with the
- 13:34Speaker 4: best of you. Want that moved over there?
- 13:36Speaker 2: I got you.
- 13:37Speaker 4: I will pick that up and I will move it myself.
- 13:40Speaker 5: But if it needs to be screwed in, I'm out
- 13:44Speaker 5: Jordan Stall.
- 13:49Speaker 2: But Mikey, he's still doing it to you. He knows
- 13:51Speaker 2: very well that you can't do anything.
- 13:53Speaker 1: You're not a handyman. You're not a guy who can
- 13:55Speaker 1: mount things. You're not doing anything around the house. And
- 13:58Speaker 1: yet that's his response every single time, Hey, ask.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Mikey to do it.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Yeah, yep, yeah, just have just have Mike install that
- 14:04Speaker 4: real quick. And I'm like, listen, but you know what,
- 14:07Speaker 4: I get him. I get him the other way anytime
- 14:09Speaker 4: there's something like technology wise, hey, hey, you need me
- 14:13Speaker 4: to come over install that router? I got you, I
- 14:15Speaker 4: got you all man, I'll go ahead and handle this.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Did you want the password to be one, two three?
- 14:19Speaker 3: I can do that. You just gotta swallow your ego
- 14:22Speaker 3: in those situations, because there's times like I'll hang up something,
- 14:25Speaker 3: a framed thing, and I'll be like, oh, it's perfect,
- 14:28Speaker 3: and then Anthony will come by with like a laser
- 14:30Speaker 3: level and be like, oh, that's slightly off, and I'm
- 14:32Speaker 3: just like, you know what, I'm not even gonna get mad,
- 14:34Speaker 3: just go ahead and fix it.
- 14:38Speaker 2: What do you got, Taylor?
- 14:39Speaker 5: I love a level? Oh man, yeah, I was just
- 14:41Speaker 5: thinking that. He said that, what do you mean something
- 14:44Speaker 5: about the bubble inside the level? It's just it's just
- 14:46Speaker 5: an appealing to look at visually.
- 14:48Speaker 3: It's it's fun because it confirms that your eyes are correct.
- 14:52Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't know, that seems slightly off center
- 14:56Speaker 3: or slight, and you put the level on. It's just like, see,
- 14:58Speaker 3: I knew I was right.
- 15:00Speaker 4: My wife questions the level. No, it says it's perfect
- 15:03Speaker 4: right there. No, I'm looking at it. This machine, this
- 15:08Speaker 4: device was designed to tell you you're wrong, and you still
- 15:12Speaker 4: don't believe it.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Jazz schism.
- 15:18Speaker 3: What is a schism? Does that a connote dysfunction?
- 15:24Speaker 2: Well, there's a schism in the locker road, don't you remember?
- 15:27Speaker 3: Yes, except that's not his name. Do we have any
- 15:32Speaker 3: more any more names?
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yes? The Decanoe conflict.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I mean Taylor came up with two and I came
- 15:38Speaker 1: up with jazzchism.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I don't like moving, playing different games. Yeah, I know.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on with me.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I don't like movers. I just in general, they can't
- 15:49Speaker 1: be trusted, even though you're trusting them with your most
- 15:53Speaker 1: valuable possessions. I just don't trust them. Yeah, I absolutely
- 15:56Speaker 1: trust them.
- 15:57Speaker 3: I trust them infinitely because yeah, I've let them handle
- 16:00Speaker 3: the most delicate of cases. That could be very important
- 16:03Speaker 3: stuff in there. I'm just like, they know what to
- 16:05Speaker 3: do with it. They know how to be gentle. Right,
- 16:09Speaker 3: what do you think of.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Jehn Robinson before we get to Danny A. Mondola?
- 16:13Speaker 1: I'm excited to talk to him. But b Jehn Robinson
- 16:15Speaker 1: signed with the Falcons today. Gibbs his next I guess
- 16:18Speaker 1: for the Lions. What do you make of that? Some
- 16:20Speaker 1: people think he's the best running back in the NFL.
- 16:22Speaker 1: It's good to see that the running backs are finally
- 16:24Speaker 1: starting to get paid a little bit, you know.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Yeah, And I don't even know, like relative to other
- 16:28Speaker 3: running backs what he's getting paid. It seems like a lot.
- 16:31Speaker 3: But I've watched Bijon Robinson probably over since like maybe
- 16:34Speaker 3: like twenty three and thought to myself, you know, the
- 16:37Speaker 3: rare times I watch a full Falcons game, I said, man,
- 16:40Speaker 3: is he just on the wrong team? Because he looks
- 16:42Speaker 3: like the best player out there all the time, and
- 16:44Speaker 3: so he's the type of guy that you can I'm
- 16:46Speaker 3: the kind of guy that can. He can throw a
- 16:49Speaker 3: million passes to him and he will turn his short
- 16:51Speaker 3: gain into a long gain. But he's also a super
- 16:54Speaker 3: shifty running back. So the idea that he is just
- 16:57Speaker 3: a running back and shouldn't or should be, you know,
- 17:00Speaker 3: paid like the elite running backs.
- 17:01Speaker 4: No.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I think he is more of a combo type of
- 17:04Speaker 3: player where he can line up in the slot, he
- 17:06Speaker 3: can line up in the backfield, you can throw, you know,
- 17:08Speaker 3: you'll catch a hundred balls in a year, maybe twelve
- 17:10Speaker 3: hundred yards and that's you know, that's a two for
- 17:12Speaker 3: one situation. So what with the deal? Three years, seventy
- 17:15Speaker 3: up to seventy five million. Yeah, I mean it sounds
- 17:17Speaker 3: like a good deal when you're basically talking about a
- 17:19Speaker 3: guy playing two positions.
- 17:20Speaker 5: Stull, You're saying, it's nice to see the running backs
- 17:23Speaker 5: feel valued, But do the running backs feel valued on
- 17:26Speaker 5: the day that Beijon Robinson gets fifty million guaranteed, Zay
- 17:30Speaker 5: Flowers gets one hundred one hundred plus guaranteed.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:33Speaker 3: And that's a guy who I watched and I say,
- 17:35Speaker 3: is he that good? He's just really speedy, And I
- 17:38Speaker 3: often say is he on the wrong team because maybe
- 17:40Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson's not finding him or whatever, But he doesn't
- 17:43Speaker 3: look like a game breaking guy when I watch him.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Are the Falcons the team in the NFL that are
- 17:48Speaker 1: most a quarterback away, meaning they are a quarterback away.
- 17:51Speaker 1: They are talented, they have good, skilled position players. I'm
- 17:54Speaker 1: not certain they have a quarterback. It feels like they
- 17:57Speaker 1: are the most quarterback away team.
- 17:59Speaker 3: In the Drake. London is another one of those.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Ye yeah, yeah, it could be yeah, but at least
- 18:05Speaker 1: they know their quarterback was good at one point. And
- 18:07Speaker 1: I guess Atlanta could say the same about Tua, but
- 18:10Speaker 1: they can't say that about Pennburgh, right, I don't know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: Like I'd rather.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Have Rogers than the Falcons quarterback situation.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Yeah, And I would say with the Texans receivers, I
- 18:20Speaker 3: feel like they were anointed a little too early, Like
- 18:23Speaker 3: I need to see them with a good quarterback to
- 18:25Speaker 3: see if they're as good as everybody said.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I mean, Nico Collins is good.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Yes, people have told me that. Everybody.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Wait so what Wait? Maybe it is the Texans. I'm
- 18:37Speaker 2: not certain, more so than the Falcons.
- 18:40Speaker 5: So I'm not going to write off C. J. Stroud
- 18:42Speaker 5: just yet, because if we had this conversation last year,
- 18:45Speaker 5: it feels like we would have been putting the Seahawks
- 18:47Speaker 5: in this conversation of being a quarterback.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but how much did that arrival at camp, continue
- 18:52Speaker 3: that feeling for him, like it's not only that terrible
- 18:55Speaker 3: playoff game, but then that terrible walk in the parking lot.
- 18:58Speaker 3: It's just like, I just don't have any confidence in
- 18:59Speaker 3: this anymore.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I mean, the Vikings might be a candidate for a
- 19:02Speaker 1: quarterback away, the most quarterback away team in the NFL.
- 19:05Speaker 3: AM I crazy to think Kyler Murray is gonna have
- 19:07Speaker 3: a good year.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yes, really, yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I don't want to write that one.
- 19:13Speaker 1: What are you basing it on the coach or justin
- 19:14Speaker 1: Jeffers His ability and the coach and the receivers around
- 19:18Speaker 1: him and playing in a I don't know.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I just feel like I guess he played a domin Arizona.
- 19:22Speaker 3: But I just feel like he's going to have a
- 19:24Speaker 3: good year if his main thing is he didn't focus enough,
- 19:28Speaker 3: he didn't study enough, he wasn't all in. I think
- 19:31Speaker 3: that changes once you change teams and you have to,
- 19:33Speaker 3: even in this case, fight for your starting spot and
- 19:36Speaker 3: fight to maintain it.
- 19:37Speaker 5: You have to keep an eye out when the next
- 19:39Speaker 5: call of duty's coming out, though, because that's normally when
- 19:41Speaker 5: his play dips off. I have a candidate for a
- 19:44Speaker 5: team that might be a quarterback away right Who Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Oh wow, yep, winner, it's another good one.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Dannyman Doola next, former NFL watte receiver Danny and Mendola
- 20:09Speaker 1: is with us right now on behalf of US A A.
- 20:12Speaker 2: What do you do in Danny?
- 20:13Speaker 1: Before we get started with the year with US A
- 20:15Speaker 1: A U S A A.
- 20:17Speaker 6: We got the official Salute Service Partner with a boot camp. Today,
- 20:22Speaker 6: we're putting some Navy guys, some Air Force guys.
- 20:26Speaker 7: And men and women through a boot camp. Today.
- 20:29Speaker 6: We got the forty yard dash, trying to find a quarterback.
- 20:31Speaker 6: Anyone that can catch, can run fast, el drill today,
- 20:34Speaker 6: Shuttle we got the broad jump. Everybody's having a blast
- 20:38Speaker 6: out here. It's it's it's great to see and and
- 20:42Speaker 6: you know, hang out with people that do so much
- 20:45Speaker 6: for our country, so much for men and women in America,
- 20:49Speaker 6: and it's it's great to see him out here having fun.
- 20:51Speaker 2: If you happen to find a quarterback and you send
- 20:53Speaker 2: him to the Jets, what do you think.
- 20:56Speaker 7: Yeah, we got some good ones out here.
- 20:58Speaker 6: I think the record so far as a fifty five
- 21:00Speaker 6: yard throw, So we got we got some people that
- 21:03Speaker 6: can really throw it.
- 21:03Speaker 7: It's awesome.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Danny, you don't look like a retired player. You look
- 21:06Speaker 3: like you could still play. Are you participating much out
- 21:08Speaker 3: there at forty? Are you forty?
- 21:11Speaker 6: I'm forty? Yeah, No, I wish. I wish I played
- 21:14Speaker 6: fourteen years. Eventually my body just kind of gave up
- 21:17Speaker 6: on me. It was. It's a rough sport, as you
- 21:20Speaker 6: guys know. So I'm happily retired, still staying active. But
- 21:25Speaker 6: you know, I haven't thrown a football on about a year.
- 21:27Speaker 6: So getting out here and throwing the ball around is fun.
- 21:30Speaker 1: If I gave you seventeen games, though, how many catches, Danny,
- 21:34Speaker 1: I can get a hundred.
- 21:38Speaker 2: What hurts most on your body right now?
- 21:40Speaker 6: I could, I could run, I could get in a
- 21:42Speaker 6: game and play one game. It's just recovering from that game.
- 21:44Speaker 6: I don't know if I could play two weeks in
- 21:45Speaker 6: a row.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Right, Yes, that's the tough part. But after all those
- 21:49Speaker 2: years of football, what is the part of the body
- 21:51Speaker 2: that hurts the most? Right now?
- 21:52Speaker 6: It's just my knees, my knees, you know, bone on bone,
- 21:56Speaker 6: Not much, not much there anymore. You know, you only
- 21:59Speaker 6: get so much tread on your tires before you got
- 22:01Speaker 6: to hang them up. So you know, it's it's great.
- 22:04Speaker 6: Man retired, life's awesome playing as much golf much tennis
- 22:07Speaker 6: as I possibly can, you know, staying active and enjoying life.
- 22:11Speaker 7: Getting to come out.
- 22:12Speaker 6: Here and and watch the game as a fan now
- 22:16Speaker 6: is really fun.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Nice Danny you. I mean, you've played for several teams
- 22:19Speaker 3: that the one that I want to talk about is
- 22:21Speaker 3: one you've only played for one year, and that was
- 22:22Speaker 3: in Miami Dolphins. And I was happy that when you
- 22:24Speaker 3: came it's my team. I was happy when you came
- 22:26Speaker 3: down here. But it was, you know, another one of
- 22:28Speaker 3: those seven and nine Dolphins seasons. It wasn't really great
- 22:31Speaker 3: and I think it's sort of floundered down the stretch there.
- 22:33Speaker 3: What's wrong with the organization?
- 22:35Speaker 2: Man?
- 22:35Speaker 3: From somebody who's been in it and somebody who's been
- 22:37Speaker 3: you know, more successful places, like is there a difference
- 22:40Speaker 3: or is it just one of those like it's just
- 22:42Speaker 3: you know a combination of things and it's all maybe
- 22:44Speaker 3: just a long term coincidence.
- 22:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, you'd like to see, you know, some
- 22:48Speaker 6: continuity and inconsistency and you know, whether it's the head
- 22:52Speaker 6: coach or the quarterback, and and and as soon as
- 22:55Speaker 6: you can get those pillars in place, you can build
- 22:59Speaker 6: guys around, build culture and and guys you know, start
- 23:02Speaker 6: to buy in the best thing about playing in New
- 23:04Speaker 6: England was that, you know, Coach Belichick could put on
- 23:06Speaker 6: old film with Troy Brown and Wes Welker and there's
- 23:09Speaker 6: so much continuity within the organization starting from mister Kraft
- 23:12Speaker 6: to Bill and then Tom and when we got here,
- 23:15Speaker 6: we was just kind of plug and play.
- 23:17Speaker 7: And you don't see that a lot in the NFL.
- 23:19Speaker 6: I mean, there's there's so much changeover, so much turnover,
- 23:22Speaker 6: whether it's players get injured, coaches get fired, and it's
- 23:25Speaker 6: and it's hard to build a program and and the
- 23:28Speaker 6: ones that you see do so tend to tend to
- 23:31Speaker 6: last a little bit longer. So you know, Coach Rabel's
- 23:34Speaker 6: out here doing you know, a lot of the same
- 23:37Speaker 6: things Bill Bill was doing here and and with with
- 23:39Speaker 6: a much more you know what, I see a fresh
- 23:42Speaker 6: take on on the drills and and and you know,
- 23:46Speaker 6: just the vibes here in practice.
- 23:47Speaker 7: So you know.
- 23:50Speaker 6: As much continuity as you can you can maintain, I
- 23:53Speaker 6: think the better you'll be.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Yeah, on that note, the continuity note, especially with a quarterback, right,
- 23:57Speaker 3: especially the quarterback you played with uh in New England.
- 24:00Speaker 3: It made me think of a question that we were
- 24:02Speaker 3: talking about the other day on our show, is would
- 24:04Speaker 3: you rather have the best quarterback in the league or
- 24:08Speaker 3: the best all around roster in the league and your
- 24:10Speaker 3: quarterback is only you know, so good? Good question?
- 24:13Speaker 6: I think, Well, first of all, it's a passing league.
- 24:15Speaker 6: I mean, I don't think you can operate, you know,
- 24:19Speaker 6: without an elite quarterback. I mean, you know, first of all,
- 24:22Speaker 6: every quarterback's good. You gotta be good to play in
- 24:24Speaker 6: the NFL. But at the end of the day, if
- 24:26Speaker 6: you have guys that have been in the NFL when
- 24:28Speaker 6: I was when I first got here, Tom I'd been
- 24:30Speaker 6: in the NFL for fifteen years, and you know, he's
- 24:33Speaker 6: seen every blitz, He's seen every coverage, he knew where
- 24:36Speaker 6: every ball was supposed to go on time at the
- 24:39Speaker 6: right pace. And I just, I just I'd rather be
- 24:42Speaker 6: I'd rather be with the best quarterback.
- 24:44Speaker 3: That was my take.
- 24:45Speaker 5: Danny, I walked onto the team at the University of
- 24:48Speaker 5: North Carolina. Can you give me any reason for optimism
- 24:52Speaker 5: with Bill Belichick and.
- 24:53Speaker 3: Chapel Hill right now?
- 24:54Speaker 5: Because Danny I'll take anything.
- 24:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I don't.
- 24:58Speaker 6: Yeah again, man, I would go to a lot of
- 25:00Speaker 6: basketball games and try to find your your your optimism there.
- 25:05Speaker 6: But you know, best of luck to down. You know,
- 25:07Speaker 6: he's obviously a great coach. It's a different beast in
- 25:09Speaker 6: college now. It's the wild West. You know, get you
- 25:11Speaker 6: guys coming in coming out and n I l with
- 25:14Speaker 6: the portal and it's just it's it's the wild West.
- 25:18Speaker 6: So we'll see how it goes. The bottom line is
- 25:20Speaker 6: he's going to get the best eleven players on the
- 25:22Speaker 6: field at the time and and try to win as
- 25:24Speaker 6: many games as possible.
- 25:26Speaker 7: So we'll see.
- 25:27Speaker 2: How do you think A. J. Brown is going to
- 25:29Speaker 2: do in that offense?
- 25:30Speaker 7: Man? I love him, man he he.
- 25:32Speaker 6: I just watched him for about you know, twenty five
- 25:34Speaker 6: plays out here today and probably caught six balls. You know,
- 25:38Speaker 6: you can really you could really feel the standard of
- 25:40Speaker 6: that room, you know, just go up another level, which
- 25:43Speaker 6: I think they have a good group and you know,
- 25:46Speaker 6: the guys with experience now coming back from you know,
- 25:49Speaker 6: playoff run last last year, getting to the super Bowl,
- 25:52Speaker 6: they got that experience and and and just the level
- 25:55Speaker 6: of play is is going to be is going to
- 25:58Speaker 6: be higher with him in the room.
- 26:00Speaker 1: If Aaron Donald comes back to the Rams, Danny, should
- 26:02Speaker 1: we just pack it up and wait till next season?
- 26:04Speaker 2: What do you think? Huh?
- 26:05Speaker 7: I tell you what they're They're a great team.
- 26:08Speaker 6: I played with Stafford for a long time and he's
- 26:11Speaker 6: one of the best I've ever played with.
- 26:13Speaker 7: He can do it all.
- 26:14Speaker 6: And and obviously to have, you know, a pass rusher
- 26:18Speaker 6: like Garrett and if you get if you get the
- 26:22Speaker 6: big guy inside again, I mean, it's it's gonna be tough.
- 26:24Speaker 7: It's gonna be tough.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Back to the Pats for a second. With with Drake
- 26:28Speaker 3: may in particular, because you mentioned by the time you
- 26:30Speaker 3: played with Tom Brady he had seen everything to be seen.
- 26:33Speaker 3: What kind of tangible changes or improvements should we expect
- 26:37Speaker 3: to see from a guy who had as much success
- 26:39Speaker 3: as he had last year at a at a young age.
- 26:42Speaker 6: I mean it's just I think again with with with
- 26:44Speaker 6: the experience of playing in big games too. I mean
- 26:47Speaker 6: that's the biggest thing. It's like, yeah, you could play,
- 26:50Speaker 6: you know, ten years and not go to this the
- 26:53Speaker 6: playoffs and not understand what it means to play on
- 26:55Speaker 6: the big stages and the bright lights.
- 26:57Speaker 7: And he's and he's got that experience under his.
- 26:59Speaker 6: Belt, you know, and and and again with I guess
- 27:03Speaker 6: you know, he's going into his third fourth year now
- 27:06Speaker 6: I don't even know, but you know, you know, the
- 27:09Speaker 6: routine that you find as a professional in the off seasons,
- 27:12Speaker 6: it's it just helps helps players so much jump from
- 27:15Speaker 6: the third year to the fourth year and then you
- 27:17Speaker 6: kind of start to see that the professionalism come out.
- 27:20Speaker 6: And and you know, that's what I expect from Drake.
- 27:23Speaker 6: He's you know, he's he's played in big games, and
- 27:25Speaker 6: he's and he and he's learned what it means to
- 27:27Speaker 6: be a pro.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Danny. We'll get you out of here in just a minute.
- 27:30Speaker 1: We were discussing right before you came on, Uh, whether
- 27:33Speaker 1: or not any of us were handy around the house.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Are you a handy man around the house.
- 27:37Speaker 7: I'm handy man.
- 27:38Speaker 6: I love it really really, I'm a big, a big
- 27:40Speaker 6: yard work guy. Lately in Texas it's hard to grow plants.
- 27:43Speaker 6: It's one hundred and eight degrees there and it's we
- 27:45Speaker 6: haven't got much rain. So I'm out there water and
- 27:47Speaker 6: plants at night, trying to get my green thumb going here.
- 27:50Speaker 3: You got to do that at night because it's so hot.
- 27:53Speaker 7: Yeah. Yeah, water will just evaporate.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Say it again so we can hear it.
- 27:58Speaker 7: Handy.
- 27:59Speaker 5: I'm indola.
- 28:01Speaker 7: I like that. How about business?
- 28:03Speaker 1: How about listen? This is the other thing we were discussing. Uh,
- 28:07Speaker 1: and it's a sports show. We're sorry about that. But
- 28:09Speaker 1: how do you feel about a moving company? If a
- 28:11Speaker 1: moving company comes to your house and is moving all
- 28:13Speaker 1: your stuff, do you feel the need to help the movers?
- 28:17Speaker 6: I mean, they're they They charged so much money. I
- 28:19Speaker 6: just moved houses the other day, and you know, I'm
- 28:22Speaker 6: I like to help them so my you know, my
- 28:24Speaker 6: personal effects don't get broken. It's like they're moving vases
- 28:27Speaker 6: and artwork and stuff like that. I'll help them in
- 28:29Speaker 6: that degree. But they charged so much money. I mean
- 28:32Speaker 6: it's like, hey, get your money's worth. I had a
- 28:34Speaker 6: guy cramp up and I was feeding them gatorade and
- 28:38Speaker 6: was working his pailoff.
- 28:39Speaker 7: He was cramping up in my kitchen. I'm like, here,
- 28:41Speaker 7: we need to get you hydrated.
- 28:43Speaker 2: You didn't pick up the couch for him, You just
- 28:45Speaker 2: gave me it. He gave you the old cramps.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Oh, Tom, last thing on the way out before we
- 28:54Speaker 1: promote us a a again. Uh, we've been asking every
- 28:57Speaker 1: guest this Indiana basketball school, football school.
- 29:01Speaker 6: I mean I'm a I'm a huge Bobby Knight fan.
- 29:04Speaker 6: I went to Texas Tech to watch Bobby Knight lowkey
- 29:07Speaker 6: coach basketball. So I've I've always been a fan of
- 29:11Speaker 6: of Hoo's your basketball. I think, uh, their football team now,
- 29:16Speaker 6: I mean yeah, they have. They had the number one
- 29:18Speaker 6: draft pick, they had a great quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner,
- 29:21Speaker 6: and and they're the top dogs, got a great coach
- 29:23Speaker 6: and they seem to be on top of it now.
- 29:25Speaker 7: So you know, I'm rooting for him.
- 29:28Speaker 1: If I told you way back when when you were
