- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Tape, where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts right now. Welcome back to the three O take
- 0:17percent by sea kick this episode 485 four 85.
- 0:26I'll be your host, Kyle Corwin. I'm here with my Co host Nate
- 0:28Reyes. Nate.
- 0:33Back on the saddle. How about it didn't take long I.
- 0:41Don't know how I feel. I'm just kind of feeling this
- 0:44out as we go. For more reasons than one.
- 0:47I mean, you're, you're fresh off of a a World Series List
- 0:54hangover. I could still throw this through
- 0:56my TV at any point. That's still on the table.
- 1:01It's still an option, still in the back pocket.
- 1:05You're you're coming off a a World Series let's hangover.
- 1:10You're still feeling the effects of that.
- 1:11And as you and I were talking about, this is sort of uncharted
- 1:15territory for us. Usually this is sort of like our
- 1:19dead period where we just kind of lay low, take a little bit of
- 1:22a break because usually, as you would imagine, post season is
- 1:26pretty hectic time and so we're usually not recording episodes.
- 1:31But I said, you know what, let's try something different.
- 1:33No break. We kept the theme of just
- 1:37rolling right through, like just like we did for the World Series
- 1:40recording after every game. We're like, you know what, let's
- 1:42just keep it right. Let's just keep it rolling right
- 1:45along. And so here we are.
- 1:48Here we be. Tell me how you're really
- 1:53feeling, though. I mean, I know, I know.
- 1:56Honestly, I don't know what to expect from you because.
- 1:59I like that. It's that's what I like.
- 2:01No, that's a dangerous place for me to be.
- 2:03True wild card. Honestly, you really just.
- 2:12Just tell me how you're feeling. I'm avoiding all things
- 2:14baseball. I'm glad we're here to talk
- 2:18welcome. I'm glad we're here to talk some
- 2:21baseball. Hey, that's a good that's a good
- 2:23reminder for me just to thank the folks here who are are are
- 2:28joining us for the maybe the first time or maybe picked up
- 2:33picked up the pod along the way through the postseason.
- 2:36I know we sort of wrapped up last episode with that with that
- 2:41same sentiment, but just to I want to really drive that point
- 2:44home. Thank you to the to the new
- 2:45folks we got in. And as always, thank you to the
- 2:48the OG, the day ones. Thank you guys for following
- 2:51along. We're looking forward to this
- 2:53offseason and and despite Nate's wild card attitude right now,
- 2:58maybe lackadaisical little, you know, carefree, no care Nate.
- 3:03We're looking forward to the soft seasons.
- 3:05It gets weird in the offseason for this show.
- 3:09This show gets real weird, but we're here to talk about moves,
- 3:16transactions. Things.
- 3:19Can we, yeah, can we try to identify what these qualify as
- 3:23opt insurance, opt outs? They're notifications.
- 3:30They're just notifications. They're not well to us, they're
- 3:33notifications, but through the, through the baseball lens, what
- 3:38are what are these things? I don't know.
- 3:39I think it's a transaction technically because like when
- 3:41you look up transactions on like a player's contract page like
- 3:46that, I like using that spot track.
- 3:48I love that's my favorite website for contracts, spot
- 3:54track, spotrac.com and it shows if you go to transactions for
- 4:01that player, it'll show like everything when they got sent
- 4:04down, called up injured list and it's all technically under the
- 4:11transactions category. All right, transaction it is.
- 4:16I'm going to, you know, I'm going to stick with moves, but I
- 4:20guess transaction actions, we're going to talk some action.
- 4:23So let's talk. Let's start right off the top
- 4:27here with the one that actually reached a resolution earlier
- 4:31earlier today, Garrett Cole. I don't know what to feel.
- 4:37Shout out James and chatty, says Nate looks exactly how I feel as
- 4:40a Yankees fan. If you're not, if you're only
- 4:41listening, we we say it all the time.
- 4:44Give YouTube a try and if you do, you'll see exactly what what
- 4:47James is talking about here. Nate.
- 4:49Nate looks about as as as carefree as you possibly could
- 4:55at this point. Did I send you that, that TikTok
- 4:58where it was like, every Yankees fan in the world right now and
- 5:01there was like, they were like, putting their jersey in the back
- 5:04of the closet? Yeah, that's exactly what I did,
- 5:08except all my Yankee shirts are, like, blended in with all my
- 5:11regular shirts. I'm the weirdo that hangs up
- 5:14every shirt. All my shirts are hung up.
- 5:16That's very strange. All shirts.
- 5:19Not a single shirt is folded. That sounds like something
- 5:22Garrett Cole would do. Somebody knows that's a strange,
- 5:26strange individual. No respect.
- 5:30You don't respect that play. All things hung up.
- 5:35No, I don't. Nor do I respect Garrett Cole.
- 5:38Nor do the Yankees. Honestly.
- 5:40Garrett Cole tried to put the ball in their court and they
- 5:42were like, here you go, Garrett Ball right back at you, pal.
- 5:48This was a whole thing. Confused me.
- 5:49This was a yeah, this was a very weird, very weird thing.
- 5:52The deadline for for decisions sort of to be made was Sunday
- 5:56originally. And then they pushed it to
- 5:58Monday. And I'm going.
- 6:00You've had weeks, if not months to figure out what you want to
- 6:04do with Garrett Cole. So why are we now pushing it
- 6:08back another 24 hours? I don't know.
- 6:11I think it was because of that fifth year, that fifth year was
- 6:15starting to change. Which the Yankees understandably
- 6:20didn't want to want to do. So they flipped it right back to
- 6:23Garrett. They called his bluff.
- 6:24And Garrett's like, all right, I'm just kidding.
- 6:26I'm back in. We're, we're back in.
- 6:29And it's as if he never opted out in the first place.
- 6:32He's going to stick with the what is it 4144?
- 6:35Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep. Taking the age 39, 38.
- 6:46Or that the the last year the contract would be his 38 I guess
- 6:50is what you're saying? I don't.
- 6:52Know. Sure, let's take him down.
- 6:54Up to his age, 39 season, Yeah. How are we feeling about this?
- 7:01I know how I feel about it as a Red Sox guy.
- 7:03So I mean, I'm loving this. I'm.
- 7:07I'm glad he's going to stay in the mix because why wouldn't you
- 7:12want Garrett Cole of all people to stay in the mix?
- 7:14So I. Don't understand?
- 7:15Of the dying, the dying rivalry. Tell me how you feel though.
- 7:22I think that I would appreciate another signing, someone who's
- 7:30younger, someone who can gracefully move into the ace
- 7:36role as he ages. I thought you were leading to
- 7:40soda. I was not.
- 7:44We'll get to that later, maybe. We're not even going to.
- 7:48Yeah, maybe, Maybe, maybe. Yeah, yeah, I, I mean, I like
- 7:55it. It it would have been weird if
- 7:56he left. It would have been like just
- 7:59like an unnecessary gut punch when the when the gut has been
- 8:04thoroughly punched enough, you know where you're like, you
- 8:11think you're numb to the pain and then a week later your ace
- 8:14leaves. That wouldn't have been great.
- 8:16That wouldn't have been great. So what does that break break
- 8:22out to like 20? Tall.
- 8:28You're asking me to do math on a Monday.
- 8:34You're saying the remaining AAV is what you're asking?
- 8:3624 year ish. No, four.
- 8:42You're saying the remaining AAV? Yeah, that's 36.
- 8:48I don't know why you're in the 20s.
- 8:51Thirty 6. Glad you weren't the one doing
- 8:53the math there. It's a lot.
- 8:56Maybe he's one of the best pitchers in baseball and and for
- 8:59the Yankees. To.
- 9:01For the Yankees to. Do though, this is what they do.
- 9:04This is what they did with CC and you just kind of like you
- 9:09pay him for what he did, but like at least CC got us a ring.
- 9:13Like I don't I don't know. I I don't, I just these guys
- 9:17don't age well, especially like. Come on, you and I can both
- 9:22acknowledge me especially can it's I mean, well, it's a little
- 9:27tougher for me, but I even I can admit that Garrett Cole is going
- 9:31to age presumably rather well. Like like Justin Verlander type
- 9:38you like you. You have to imagine he's
- 9:40pitching into his 40s. If if he can, I would imagine
- 9:43the will is there. That's not you can't you can't
- 9:47say that for all guys. But for Garrett Cole, you, you
- 9:50have to think that he's going to especially for the Yankees, he's
- 9:52going to want to pitch at least in his early 40s and.
- 9:58OK, not the Yankees at that point.
- 10:00Well, I mean, I'll take it. I'll take it.
- 10:03I'm just saying that like I I want someone to bridge that gap.
- 10:09Give me somebody to bridge that gap when he is no longer the
- 10:12ace, you know what I mean? 36 years, a lot though, a lot of
- 10:20money. What we could do with that?
- 10:26I think you're barking up the wrong tree for money.
- 10:28This. This is not the guy.
- 10:30I can't believe I'm the one convincing you that keeping
- 10:33Garrett Cole for the duration that they presumably will keep
- 10:37him around is a good thing. All right, Why am I the?
- 10:39Person just a little bit of like, you know, let me hit free
- 10:42agency, but like not for that long because let me come back
- 10:46and, you know, save you guys some money to do some other
- 10:50stuff with this rock. That, yeah, I mean that I could
- 10:53get on board with. That would be like a, you know,
- 10:55like an ace. I want a monument in in Monument
- 11:01Park kind of move. And that's, you know, I don't
- 11:05know. That I can get on board with.
- 11:10But yeah, I don't know, maybe he looked at the way this this
- 11:14October ended up and is like, if we can't do it this year.
- 11:17Yeah, it's fair. Just like, let me just get my
- 11:18bag at least. Yeah, let's, I have no interest
- 11:24in maybe if we would have pulled it out.
- 11:27He's that's probably what he's saying.
- 11:28If if we would have pulled it out, maybe we're talking about a
- 11:31a legacy here that we can tack on some more.
- 11:33That's what bugs me is that I just feel like not winning.
- 11:39It should trigger some type of selflessness in a way, but
- 11:46whatever. Professional athletes rarely do
- 11:48that. That's why Otani is a Unicorn in
- 11:51more ways than one. Either that or you just didn't
- 11:59like California taxes anyway. It's a fair assumption.
- 12:08What else you got for me? Tired of talking to?
- 12:10Yankees. Well, that's a great, that's a
- 12:12great transition into our next guy, Anthony Rizzo.
- 12:15Yankees have declined his $17 million option, club option for
- 12:20next year. Yeah, this was a no brainer.
- 12:24But I'm seeing some talk about like, is this, is this it for
- 12:28Rizzo? And I'm like, no, no, right,
- 12:36Come on. He's had a long career.
- 12:40It just doesn't. There's not much there.
- 12:43There's not much there. Yeah, but I mean, he's not aging
- 12:47well, but to but to go from, I'm going to use the the the term
- 12:58contributing very loosely here to go from contributing on a
- 13:02World Series team to not having a home the next year.
- 13:07Given his and I know I'll be it a long career given his resume.
- 13:13You don't think he finds a home elsewhere at least for another
- 13:16year or two? You, I mean, you think there's a
- 13:18possibility that this is it for Anthony Rizzo?
- 13:21No, I mean, I would see. I could see like a Cubs reunion.
- 13:24I could see. Yeah, the that.
- 13:26I could see, I don't know, throwing him on like the Reds or
- 13:32something, you know what I mean? Like somewhere that.
- 13:33Yeah, I'm. Yeah.
- 13:35That end of end of career talk is crazy.
- 13:37Come on now. Yeah, I'm just.
- 13:40I, I love Rizzo. I really do.
- 13:42I actually really, really like Rizzo, a guy that's just like,
- 13:48he's such a great baseball guy and he's a great leader.
- 13:54He's a great clubhouse guy. He's great like off the field
- 13:57with helping people, has an amazing foundation.
- 14:00Like he's one of my favourites that's going to fall into like
- 14:06the very, you know, good Hall, the Hall of good, the Hall of
- 14:11solid, Hall of solid. I like that.
- 14:15Let's ride with that. But I think he just kind of ties
- 14:22the Yankees up a little bit, man.
- 14:25And like leadership wise, they get they get in these positions.
- 14:29That's that's what I meant by like the coal thing of like, I
- 14:33get weary about them bringing players back that are deep into
- 14:37their 30s because you're like, they, they get stuck and then
- 14:41they don't know how to move on or bench that guy or, or release
- 14:45that guy or like anything. And then they end up in a weird
- 14:50spot. And I could I could see that
- 14:55happening if Rizzo was to come back.
- 14:57And so thank you for your service.
- 15:00Please go somewhere else. How's that for 9 million
- 15:11dollars, $11 million, something like that?
- 15:15Not ten, just 9 or. 9:00 to 11:00 I don't feel good about
- 15:2010. It's 9 or 11/9.
- 15:22Or 11. Possibly 11.5.
- 15:26Allergic to even numbers is Anthony Rizzo.
- 15:32Yeah, no, I'm I'm with you. But yeah, the the weird and I
- 15:35don't know how much validity there was to the end of the
- 15:38career room. Not rumored, but just like
- 15:41speculation. I'm like no stop.
- 15:43Like we we have to as a not just with baseball, with sports.
- 15:48And I know I've referenced this meme before, but it's that it's
- 15:51that meme where it's like, you know, like a 30 year old walking
- 15:59down the street. It's like, OK, 30 years old
- 16:01walking down the street. A 30 year old athlete, like a
- 16:03baseball player walks up to the plate.
- 16:05And those sportscasters, like, Can you believe it?
- 16:0930 years old. It's a miracle like.
- 16:11How old is he? Well, I'm not saying he's 30
- 16:13years old, but collectively we just got to stop like writing
- 16:17people off so soon. Like if if it isn't fact time.
- 16:22It's just the way they age. Yeah, I suppose he's 30.
- 16:26He. Misses a lot of games.
- 16:29He's 35. But it's like, I mean.
- 16:31If he's just a great, he's a gamer.
- 16:36The gamer saying like, and, and I'm not saying that he falls
- 16:39into the category of like a Gary Sanchez or a Nelson Cruz, who I
- 16:43don't even know how Gary Sanchez is, but like.
- 16:46He'd be surprised. Pretty young.
- 16:48Yeah, we've had this. We've had this conversation
- 16:50before. I'm I'm this is.
- 16:52This is like 28. Yeah, he he plays like he's he's
- 16:5642 sometimes he's 31. I swear he's older than 31.
- 17:01But anyway, like it if guys like that are still finding gigs
- 17:05elsewhere around the league, which I know Nelson Cruz weren't
- 17:09just no longer, but you get my point.
- 17:11Like and you tell me, Anthony Russo, come on, what are we
- 17:14really doing here? Yeah, it's tough, man.
- 17:18Like I I think Yankee Stadium also kind of changes his
- 17:22approach and it hinders a little bit.
- 17:25And when you see him just get pull happy and swinging
- 17:29underneath stuff, you're like, this isn't really your game
- 17:31anymore. Kind of like if a pitcher loses
- 17:34velocity, start figuring out the secondary pitches, learn how to
- 17:37throw a cutter, blah, blah, blah.
- 17:39You get a hitter that, you know, just kind of loses that pop.
- 17:42Like I've watched that guy lace balls over the shortstop and,
- 17:48and to give solid ABS because he's crowding a plate.
- 17:52And like, I think that he can provide some value somewhere
- 17:56else and, and maybe you bring him in and like a young
- 17:59clubhouse and, and, you know, let him be the solid vet.
- 18:04Let him let him teach somebody how to play first base and just
- 18:08kind of ease him out. Put him on like the Nationals.
- 18:13You know what I mean? Like, that'd be weird.
- 18:16Maybe it's Cubs reunion. Cubs ain't doing anything.
- 18:20Speaking of easing out, Blake Snell did no such thing.
- 18:24He he got out of that contract as fast as he could, has
- 18:32exercised his opt out with the Giants and he will now be a free
- 18:36agent for the second straight year.
- 18:39Most predictable. Why do you keep asking me?
- 18:42His age is 31. Good job.
- 18:44Did you guess that I come prepared?
- 18:54Like just one of the most predictable transactions, if you
- 18:57will, of the the young offseason.
- 19:00Like like Snell is just going to continue.
- 19:03I honestly at the rate he's going now if if he continues to
- 19:08yeah, if he continues to come up on the on the wrong end of these
- 19:15these contract searches it it the markets just or the league,
- 19:21I should say is just going to continue to call his bluff and
- 19:23be like, no, we're not giving you what you're looking for.
- 19:25We're not giving you and guy will talk talk about little
- 19:29later like Cody Belcher. It's kind of the same thing.
- 19:31It's like no, we're you can want something, but that doesn't mean
- 19:34you're going to get it regardless who your agent is.
- 19:37We we saw how that came to came to be last year.
- 19:40Just doesn't matter it seems anymore.
- 19:44And I I just have to think that unless Blake Snell that I don't
- 19:48know, checks his pride at the door or or something, he's not
- 19:52going to get any sort of length in this contract.
- 19:55If he keeps going after the money, the money, the money.
- 19:59He may not find it. But if he wants a little bit of
- 20:02security and not have and not force himself to be put in a
- 20:08position where every single season is a bet on yourself
- 20:10year, I don't know like it. It's just not.
- 20:15What do you think is a fair contract?
- 20:19He's 31. He he was Cy Young then proves
- 20:27himself again. I know it's a rough start and
- 20:29wasn't healthy because of the whole I think I blame the spring
- 20:33training sit out kind of situation.
- 20:35But give me give me like a fair length and number.
- 20:40Yeah, but even we talked about that, remember it.
- 20:42Maybe it's just a thing where Blake Snow, whether he gets a
- 20:46late start or not, because we've obviously seen him in both
- 20:48situations out maybe just doesn't matter.
- 20:51Maybe he's just a second-half guy.
- 20:53Like if it happens, if it happens time and time again, you
- 20:56have to wonder like, OK, is this just his MO?
- 20:59Like as as a guy, I don't know. But the contract back in March
- 21:06was a two year, 62 mil include a $17 million signing bonus.
- 21:14I don't know, for his sake, for his sake, he's 31.
- 21:20Give me like a, I'm kind of playing it safe, but give me
- 21:28like I, I guess like a four year deal.
- 21:31What's the number? I don't know.
- 21:37It's it's just hard to answer that because I don't know what
- 21:40it like what, what mark he's after, because again, it's like
- 21:45if you if you would just maybe be a little bit more OK with the
- 21:49the security of having the years.
- 21:52I don't. Think he's getting the length.
- 21:53I don't think anyone is offering the length I think they were.
- 21:57I think the AAV was fine. I think you're right.
- 21:59I, I think he missed the boat on that.
- 22:00Like I, I think maybe if he would have, if he would have
- 22:04adjusted his expectations a little bit a year or two ago,
- 22:07then maybe he could have gotten the length.
- 22:09But now he's, he's 31 and he's not getting any younger.
- 22:13So I don't know, like do you have a number in mind for Snell?
- 22:18110 or like four years, 110 I think it it pushes you above 25
- 22:26a year I think if you can. You think this is what he should
- 22:38look for? You think this is what he's
- 22:40going to get? I think those.
- 22:41Are a fair number. I don't think he's, I think he's
- 22:43looking for. I think he's probably hoping for
- 22:46a fifth year and AAV wise, I mean, he's probably looking.
- 22:52I would say 5150 is probably their goal, yeah, that's 30 a
- 23:00year. Nice round Number.
- 23:02No, that'd be you know, but I don't think he gets five.
- 23:07No, no, I think it's no because you're pay, you're paying for
- 23:12hat like, I mean, go back and look at the numbers we just
- 23:15talked about. Like you're not exactly paying
- 23:17for. I don't know it, it just worries
- 23:25me with his start sometimes. And not like I'm not talking
- 23:28individual starts. I'm saying like starts to the
- 23:30year where it's like we know what he is in the second-half,
- 23:33but we need a little bit more consistency in that front before
- 23:37we commit $150 million. I don't know.
- 23:45I just, I hope, I hope he finds what he's looking for.
- 23:48I just don't know if he's going to get it.
- 23:52I just don't know if he's going to get it.
- 23:54I think 4 years the AAV stays under 30.
- 24:00If it's three years, the AAV is likely almost 35.
- 24:06I could honestly, I could see him trying to pull another, I
- 24:11mean not not wisely, I'll say I'd I could see him trying to
- 24:16pull like another two year contract with just insane AAV
- 24:20elsewhere and run it back again the same way he did with his
- 24:23contract. Keep doing that.
- 24:26Keep getting older, keep looking for that contract.
- 24:29It's not going to happen. Sean Manaya declined his
- 24:34thirteen and a half million dollar option for the upcoming
- 24:37season and has become a free agent.
- 24:41He's this is his third straight year.
- 24:47I think this is his best offseason.
- 24:49This will be his best offseason based on what he showed.
- 24:54I yeah, he found something with the Mets.
- 24:57He found something new. It was the arm slot.
- 24:59He he lowered his arm slot. I want to say it was like to 22°
- 25:02and he was up. But I saw the chart somewhere
- 25:09where it showed sort of like the breakdown by year, but I think
- 25:14he was like up in the 30s, dropped it down to 22 after
- 25:18trying to emulate a little bit more of what Chris Sale does
- 25:20from that side. And it just really worked for
- 25:24him. And so for that reason, I, I
- 25:26think there's a little bit more legitimacy to him declining the
- 25:30option and, and seeking something else.
- 25:31Because if, if this truly is a, a fix for him, maybe he can tap
- 25:35into a little bit of that promise that we saw earlier on
- 25:38in his career. We're like, OK, this guy could,
- 25:40could be, could be the real deal.
- 25:42And then, you know, the arm slot gets a little higher, starts to
- 25:45struggle a little bit more and then you're going, OK, well,
- 25:47maybe this guy isn't who we thought he was.
- 25:49But then, like I said, lowers back down and you go, OK, it's
- 25:53still it's still early, still early enough.
- 25:56He's 32. So, I mean, you could still
- 25:59salvage a little bit of a payday here if you're Banaya and I I
- 26:02think this was if, if you were going to do it, now was the
- 26:05time. Like, like I said, you're 32,
- 26:09you you have a chance here to get a respectable bag and be on
- 26:14your merry way. It's just really, I get like, I
- 26:18can't help but get this gut feeling that he's going to be a
- 26:20Red Sox. Sadly, well, no disrespect to
- 26:27Shawn Manaya, but I, I think in terms of Red Sox, sadly, I think
- 26:32Shawn Manaya would be a name in a tier that the Red Sox would
- 26:38entertain or not you're you're not entertaining the I mean,
- 26:42he's, he's back with the Yankees now.
- 26:44So it doesn't really matter. But like for hypothetical sake,
- 26:46if Garrett Cole was on the free market, the Red Sox aren't
- 26:49entertaining that the Red Sox were never really entertaining
- 26:52Yamamoto, despite what you may may have hear, may have heard
- 26:56they, they were never, they were never doing that.
- 26:58They're never paying that kind of money.
- 27:01So Shawn Minaya to your point could be a little bit better of
- 27:04a fit for them because apparently we're middle mid
- 27:08market team now. It's an affordable inning eater
- 27:13that will give you solid back end rotation, an occasional
- 27:20front of rotation type start sometimes.
- 27:25That's that's my vibe. I like the new arm angle.
- 27:29I like too. I like the new Shawn Manaya.
- 27:31And I, and that's kind of what I was, what kind of what I was
- 27:34alluding to. I'm, I'm just, I'm more
- 27:36confident about Manaya moving forward.
- 27:40I don't feel like it because there's, there's tangible
- 27:44evidence to support the, the uptick in performance.
- 27:49This isn't just like a, OK, maybe he just like caught on
- 27:52with the vibes that were taking place in New York this year.
- 27:55He just, he was able to put together a slew of starts that
- 27:59set him up for a good free agency.
- 28:00Like, no, he can, he can point to the decision to lower the arm
- 28:04slot. And if, if he's able to build
- 28:07off of that, then maybe, maybe, like I said, maybe he's going to
- 28:10tap back into what he was capable or tap, tap back into
- 28:13the promise that he showed early in his career.
- 28:16And for that reason I I wouldn't be as hesitant to to view it as
- 28:22possibly a fluke this year, and as a result would be more
- 28:27inclined to give him. Yeah, this, this gives me like a
- 28:33like kind of what you know, like upside wise you could see like
- 28:38him being a Seth Lugo for the Royals this year, you know what
- 28:41I mean? Like an under the radar type
- 28:43signing that somehow becomes way better than you thought he was
- 28:48and it's a very budgetary move that can honestly change the
- 28:54rotation. Next on our list, Marcelo Zuna
- 29:01Braves have exercise this the exercise?
- 29:05The $16 million contract option for Ozuna, 33 years old, coming
- 29:12off a year in which he hit three O 2 with 39 bombs, 104 ribbies,
- 29:1731 double S and a 925 OPS. It's a Goodyear.
- 29:24It's a real Goodyear. This is a no brainer for the
- 29:26Braves. Now I know I mentioned the.
- 29:29Word. The new Nelson Cruz, I think.
- 29:32I can get on board with that. OK, Yeah.
- 29:34So that kind of negates what I was going to ask, so never mind.
- 29:38Ask it anyway, I'm curious. Well, I was just going to say
- 29:41like, I, I, I bring up the word, I brought up the word fluke.
- 29:44And I'm, I'm just wondering like, you know, like how I mean,
- 29:52yeah, coming off, he's coming off the seasons with 40 and 39
- 29:55home runs respectively. So I, I, I can understand that,
- 29:59but I mean the three O 2 kind of is alarming to me.
- 30:09And I and I know that they're not, they're not bringing him
- 30:11back to hit for average, certainly not.
- 30:13But I just wonder how much of this year he can recapture.
- 30:22That's what we said about Nelson Cruz.
- 30:25Yeah. But year over year over year
- 30:26over year over year over year, you're just solidify yourself in
- 30:30the comfort of becoming ADH and like that's all you're going to
- 30:34be moving forward. And that's like you really
- 30:37settle into that role, you know, comfortable hitting in that
- 30:45ballpark. You might as well run it back.
- 30:48If you're the Braves, you're like, this season didn't even
- 30:50count. Like, just come back.
- 30:52Now for sure. Do what you did and we're going
- 30:55to have a much better lineup because we're going to be
- 30:56healthy so. Yeah, I mean the Braves are
- 31:02going to the assuming everything goes well, it's offseason,
- 31:06everybody heals up and what not Braves are going to be back to
- 31:10their back to their ways in 2025 and the NL E will regain a
- 31:19little bit of normalcy if that's what you want to call it.
- 31:23But yeah, the no brainer on on behalf of the Braves.
- 31:27I mean 16 mil for another chance at 40 home runs that it it's not
- 31:33a matter of if he can do it. He's he's proven on more than
- 31:36one occasion, more than more than one season.
- 31:38He's capable of doing that. It was just a matter of like I
- 31:41it I think it caught a lot of people by surprise.
- 31:43I really do like he he he put up, he put up, you know, home
- 31:48run numbers this year that he's like I said, he's done before,
- 31:51but it it was just something about his collective body of
- 31:55work offensively this year that just didn't seem very Marcelo
- 31:58Zuna esque. Like I said, hitting for
- 32:00average. It just, it just seemed like he
- 32:02he was able to capture lightning in a bottle a little bit more
- 32:06than he maybe has some in years past.
- 32:09But he's a 265 hitter. I don't think the homers are
- 32:16going anywhere. I think he's a 272 career
- 32:19hitter. So, yeah, I mean, that's that's
- 32:20like sort of right on. Yeah, right on brand there.
- 32:24Yeah. Guess where I pulled out of Yep.
- 32:29I just want to that number up. Just want to caution Braves fans
- 32:32not get too excited, not get their hopes up about a a repeat
- 32:35because like I say, it's 30 four, Yeah, basically oldest
- 32:41dirt in in baseball apparently. So just be careful.
- 32:47Just be careful. Cody Bellinger, yes.
- 32:53Smart man, Smart man. Really didn't see this one
- 32:57coming. Now he's staying in Chicago.
- 33:00This man. Going back to Chicago.
- 33:06What AI don't know? Underwhelming weird.
- 33:14Just a weird career arc, you know?
- 33:18Yeah. Like Chris Bryant, What happened
- 33:22to that? Guy like I had I, I at this
- 33:26point the years are starting to run together.
- 33:27I had in in my pre season predictions, one of these pre
- 33:32seasons. The fact that Bellinger was
- 33:36going to have a bounce back here.
- 33:37I feel like at this point it was 2 off seasons ago or two pre
- 33:41seasons ago. And I think the year in which
- 33:46he, he, he sort of recaptured a, a fraction of that MVP season
- 33:53back in the day, I think was the, the year immediately
- 33:58following that pre season that I made that prediction.
- 34:00So I was like, I was feeling pretty good about it.
- 34:02But then I, I'm going, I'd, I, I don't know, maybe that was more
- 34:08of a fluke than anything because I just because then he got
- 34:13contract happy and, and started asking for too much.
- 34:16And obviously now we're in the situation that we're in now with
- 34:19him and. Notice he's like 2820. 9/29/29
- 34:27Yeah, but I just, I don't really know what to expect to Cody
- 34:32Bellinger. I I, I don't want to write the
- 34:35guy off, but I'm I'm wondering if these down seasons we've seen
- 34:40of him recently really is becoming the new normal for him,
- 34:46or maybe always was. I, I, I mean, I'm not, I don't
- 34:49want to, I don't want to disrespect an MVP by any
- 34:52stretch, but it's like what, what Cody Bellinger, are we
- 34:55going to get long term here? If this man, we've seen that
- 35:01he's willing to make mechanical changes in the box, like we've
- 35:05seen a couple adjustments over the years and I think he's open
- 35:09to change when things don't work.
- 35:10And I love that. And I have respect for that
- 35:13because there's a lot of pro ball players that don't they
- 35:15just kind of sit in their ways and say this is how I got here
- 35:19and I'm not changing. So if he gets the right hitting
- 35:23coach, I, if I'm running the Cubs, if I'm Craig counsel, I'm
- 35:29riding him into the same spot in the lineup.
- 35:33Stop with the flip flopping of center field in first base.
- 35:36Let him just sit in a position and not have to put.
- 35:41I wonder how much pregame work he's having to do of of getting
- 35:46ready as an outfielder, getting ready as an infielder, like.
- 35:49Well, he bumped over to right when when Pico Armstrong came
- 35:54out, so it was really more about and then and then you have the
- 35:56Michael Bush thing at first base and he was.
- 35:58Starting to so if right fields his thing, but like say Suzuki,
- 36:01what's going on there? I think the plan is to just kind
- 36:05of make him your your everyday DH at this point.
- 36:09Then you're going to need to really settle in and figure out
- 36:12how to hit. But I, I think that's a mistake.
- 36:15I think, I think you ride him into a spot and let him just
- 36:20play there every day. He's too young to be in my he's
- 36:24too young and not a good enough hitter to be a full time DH.
- 36:28And he's too good athletically. Like defensively, he's solid.
- 36:32We talking Bellinger? Yeah, yeah.
- 36:35Give me a chance to play, even if it's, I mean it's going on in
- 36:41left for them. Am I crazy?
- 36:43We're talking just. Going to be a cub forever.
- 36:47I'm not crazy, right? Gold Glove winner.
- 36:50Yeah. Or am I crazy?
- 36:54Is he not? Yeah.
- 36:55Gold Glove winner for sure. Yeah.
- 36:57Yep. Yep, Yep.
- 36:58Yeah, I think he's. I think he'll figure it out, but
- 37:07be willing to change. Just keep keep trying new stuff.
- 37:10Seeing what? See what works out.
- 37:11Get a new hitting coach. Try to find it.
- 37:16I want to see it again. Devin Williams Brewers have
- 37:27declined the 10 1/2 million Dollar Club option on their
- 37:31closer. It's going to receive a $250,000
- 37:35buyout but will remain under team control for 2025.
- 37:40Likely trade candidates. Just yet another move from the
- 37:47Brewers that I got to buy. The I'm trying.
- 37:50I can't wrap my head around. I'm really trying like I'm I
- 37:54want to like them. Credit to you.
- 37:59I'm putting in an effort. It's a two way St.
- 38:02Brewers come on Milwaukee, it's a two way St.
- 38:10Show me something. Show me something worth loving.
- 38:18Just want to love you. They will.
- 38:20I mean by doing so they will save money in the long run.
- 38:26But. Enough.
- 38:28It's like. Enough trying to do that.
- 38:30How many years, How many corners, executive years do you
- 38:32need to do that? Yes, over and over.
- 38:34This is a core you can start to build around dude.
- 38:38Stop trying to cut corners, take care of your guys.
- 38:41Yeah, build off of this and a. Build off of this.
- 38:45You did have a good year. Run it back.
- 38:48William Thomas is going to be gone soon.
- 38:51Gordon Burns is already gone. I mean, the this this wax
- 38:58figurine of a of a team is, is just melting by the minutes and
- 39:04you're just sitting there trying to like hold it up and and put
- 39:08it back together. And it's just not, it's not
- 39:11happening. And it's a shame because you got
- 39:15some good fan, you got some good fans out there.
- 39:17That's a good baseball city. But the, the way you're going
- 39:19about, it's very questionable. Yeah.
- 39:22Always trying to cut corners. It's this weird like never want
- 39:28to buy in too much in case we're not that good so we can sell.
- 39:33There's too much of that in baseball man too.
- 39:35I know I don't want to pin that just on the Brewers, although
- 39:37they they take that approach a lot Yeah, but we don't need to
- 39:42pull it this thread. But it goes back to the the
- 39:44expanded postseason and I know this isn't the first year of the
- 39:47expanded postseason. We've we've had a, a little bit
- 39:51of a sample size built up now to where you can kind of see the
- 39:54the ripple effects of how the expanded post season impacts
- 39:59roster construction, trade deadlines, offseason, so on and
- 40:03so forth. But that's just a that's a
- 40:06ripple effect. And the Brewers just seemingly
- 40:10do this a lot more than other teams.
- 40:11I don't know. I don't know where is.
- 40:16The Brewers gets me kind of fired up.
- 40:18That'd be wild. I like it.
- 40:20I like it. I like it.
- 40:24You know what gets me fired up? Say it.
- 40:26Nathan Ievaldi coming home back to Boston.
- 40:31I didn't read that. We will soon enough has declined
- 40:37his $20 million option with the Texas, the Tejas Rangers, which
- 40:43happened today and is now free agent.
- 40:47Rangers are very, I was reading that they're very interested in
- 40:51bringing him back, which, you know, isn't necessarily always
- 40:54the case when when an option is declined.
- 40:56Sometimes you're just like, OK, this is a natural, natural point
- 41:00to part ways. But the Rangers like, no, no,
- 41:02no, hold on. Let's see if we can work
- 41:04something out here. Yeah.
- 41:07And why not? I mean, Eve ALDI is just a dog
- 41:11man. He's going to he's going to take
- 41:13the ball and he's going to give you starts.
- 41:16He's been giving you fairly good starts as of late.
- 41:19One of the better, one of the better, maybe not one of the
- 41:24better slash semi reliable arms in baseball over the last
- 41:31handful of years. So you know why not?
- 41:35But it it's all for not because he's coming back to Boston.
- 41:39That's crazy they can't afford them.
- 41:42They can afford Evaldi. Wow.
- 41:47They can afford Soto, but they won't pay him.
- 41:49What do you think I'm trying to look at?
- 41:53Please hold. I'm trying to look at the free
- 41:59agent list. There we blow.
- 42:10Yeah, dude, I mean, I feel like there's a pretty decent drop off
- 42:18under that name. You got burns, you got snow, you
- 42:21got what seems to be somewhat of a of a resurgence out of
- 42:26Kikuchi. Max freed a lot of question
- 42:30marks. I know we have all these 35 but.
- 42:3934, I think they'll I think they'll have to pay.
- 42:43I think they will have to pay. I think there's going to be
- 42:45quite a few teams that would go after that.
- 42:47That's a solid, it's a solid 2. That's a solid 2 starter
- 42:53depending on the rotation. I'd be interested to see.
- 43:02He's nine and three in the postseason.
- 43:04He's a three O 5 ERA. Why would you not want that?
- 43:10Yeah, I'm, I'm just saying there's a big drop off like
- 43:12Flaherty is the is the name under that.
- 43:16Then you got like Nick Martinez, Kyle Gibson, Pavetta Manaya, as
- 43:21we mentioned earlier, Heaney, like.
- 43:22Call me crazy, call me crazy. Hold on.
- 43:26I need to. I need to pull something up here
- 43:28because like you want to talk about a guy that I've I'm just
- 43:34not sold on and I may be contradicting myself based on
- 43:39some clarity that I shared during the World Series that I
- 43:43just can't remember or the post season as a whole.
- 43:46But wash didn't happen. Dude, I I just don't get it with
- 43:54Flaherty, man. I really don't.
- 43:58And I mean, not to like, not to cherry pick here, but I'm going
- 44:04to cherry pick. You go back to the 2020 season,
- 44:08A-491-A322A-425-A499. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 44:17There's a big drop off after. 358 this year, which, you know,
- 44:22whatever or no, I'm sorry, this year was a 317, but it was a 358
- 44:27with the Dodgers. And then obviously the
- 44:29postseason was the postseason. But I don't know.
- 44:32I'm I'm it, it's not a, it's not a hot take to put Ivaldi over
- 44:41Flaherty, is it or is it? I don't think it's a hot take.
- 44:44I'm taking. One's proven.
- 44:46I mean, let the let the bias be what the bias is going to be.
- 44:51But I'm taking Ivaldi over Flaherty and I, I don't know if
- 44:58people are going to laugh at that or.
- 45:01What? But yeah, the Rangers are going
- 45:03to have to pay, dude. Rangers are going to have to
- 45:05fork over some moolah because Burns Snell.
- 45:11I think there's a limited amount of teams.
- 45:14I think there's a decent amount of teams, but there's a limited
- 45:18amount of teams that are willing to pay what I think they're
- 45:21going to get. And then there's not so many in
- 45:25this like Tier 2 level with names.
- 45:30I think there's a lot of teams they can afford.
- 45:33What was this? What was it?
- 45:37What was his option? 20 option?
- 45:39Yeah, 20 or player option. Yeah, he's 3435.
- 45:52Had a vesting option in his contract for the 2025 season
- 45:56that depended on whether he threw a combined 300 innings in
- 45:59his first two seasons with Texas.
- 46:02The previous two seasons threw 314 and 2/3 innings over that
- 46:08span. Yeah, I think he's worth.
- 46:18I'd give him three years. And further, yeah, I mean, just
- 46:25to clarify, I'm not, I'm not sitting here speculating on like
- 46:28whether I think Flaherty's going to get pulled more or Vivaldi,
- 46:31whatever. I'm just telling you about age.
- 46:34If I, yeah, I mean, the age is the ultimate factor there.
- 46:37But like if if if I had to pull the trigger on on a middle of
- 46:42the rotation guy for just call it two to three years.
- 46:47I'm taking the Vivaldi Flaherty's too much of A wild
- 46:51card for me. I agree I.
- 46:56Don't know. I do concur.
- 46:59And lastly here there, I mean, there's obviously a lot of
- 47:02things going on, a lot of opt insurance, a lot of opt outs.
- 47:04Can't get to every single one of them.
- 47:06But want to round out the list here with Michael Walker
- 47:09agreeing to a three-year, $51 million contract with the Royals
- 47:14and a fourth year club option that could total 72 million.
- 47:24Good for one. Bravo to Kansas City, bravo to
- 47:30the Royals. Smart move, good move.
- 47:35We already talked about how I don't think you're going to
- 47:38outbid some of these other teams with these free agent names.
- 47:43Like I like this move. Just keep just keep bringing in
- 47:48some some inning eaters. That whole rotation just eats
- 47:53innings. Oh, I get.
- 47:57He's not. He's not just an innings eater.
- 47:59He put up 29 starts this year, went 13 and eight with a 335.
- 48:08Well, he put up 166 and 2/3 innings, but you know, Indians
- 48:16expectations have evolved so. 160 innings is the new 180.
- 48:23Yeah, so do that what you will, but he's I mean, let's let's
- 48:30just look at his numbers here, Waka.
- 48:35He's been one of like the the more low key underrated arms
- 48:42over the last, what, three years?
- 48:48Yeah, go back to 2022 with Boston.
- 48:51He had a yeah, that was a that was a fun year to watch.
- 48:54I will say 332 or specific specifically for Waka's sake,
- 49:00332 and 2022 at 3322 with the Padres last year and then A335
- 49:08with the Royals this year. But obviously hitting that
- 49:13almost career high and and see if he put up 181 back in 2015
- 49:18when he was an All Star with the Cardinals.
- 49:21But yeah, man. Sort of around 10 years, almost
- 49:25recaptured, yeah. Dude, do you remember back when
- 49:30I made his debut back in what, 17 or No, Sorry, I'm looking at
- 49:34Flaherty back in 13. Yeah, with the Cardinals, he
- 49:38was. 11 years. He was he was the talk of the
- 49:44town when he came up with the Cardinals like that was right
- 49:47around the I want to say he was in that World Series in in 13.
- 49:52I want to say he made he made, yeah, some appearance.
- 49:58Yeah, sure did 22 starts in in that 13 World Series.
- 50:03And yeah, he was. I mean, I, I'm sure if you asked
- 50:07him, maybe his career trajectory didn't go the way he necessarily
- 50:10thought, but has seem seemingly recaptured a little bit of his
- 50:14his old self these last few years.
- 50:17So good. For him, absolutely there.
- 50:20I agree. I agree.
- 50:22It's a good fit. I like that fit.
- 50:24Shout out Royals Gold Glove winners.
- 50:29Really not much to. Need anything anymore?
- 50:33No, that and that's what I was going to say.
- 50:34I really don't want you to break down here because the I, I think
- 50:38the meaning of the Gold Glove has has dwindled and I even it
- 50:42even felt weird coming off the tongue earlier when we're
- 50:44talking Cody Bellinger. I'm like, OK, yeah, he won one
- 50:46Gold Glove, but like what? What does that really mean?
- 50:49But you know one guy that I am thrilled about any And then
- 50:55that's the reason I'm wearing what I'm wearing.
- 50:58Friend of the friend of the pod, friend of the program, Bobby
- 51:02Witch Junior, one of the 14 first time winners of the Gold
- 51:10Glove. This was the.
- 51:15Thank you to the banning of the shift.
- 51:19Told you guys, athleticism is back.
- 51:23This was a tie for the most first time players, or first
- 51:30time winners I should say, going back to 2022.
- 51:37This is this is a guy where you're like, he's going to have
- 51:44I'd say at least five in his career and that like that.
- 51:48I think that's the new threshold for me for glove Gold Gloves to
- 51:52win like to mean anything. It's got to be like 5 plus the
- 51:56the the one offs 2 in your career and they were spread out
- 52:00through seven years. Like I it's fluky to me.
- 52:06Nolan going whatever length he did.
- 52:09Was it 10 straight? 11 straight like?
- 52:13That's the Platinum Glove. Like that's that's when you
- 52:16know. There's that's legitimate, yeah.
- 52:19You're, you're talking about an elite defender there.
- 52:21But yeah, the one I mean, the example you use like 1 / 7
- 52:25Bellinger is 1 / 8. Yeah, see, then I'm over it.
- 52:29I'm over it don't mean much. It's the I need, I need
- 52:33multiple. And I think if you finish your
- 52:36career with over 5, I can then call you a Gold Glover.
- 52:41I think we can safely classify Bobby Witt as a as a multiple
- 52:47Gold Club winner. Bro Bro will be back for a
- 52:51platinum winner I I I'd guess. He's going to age very well on
- 52:55the left side, dude, he's going to, he's going to take that
- 52:58Machado track, I would imagine. I mean, he's, I'm not, I'm not
- 53:02putting. Speed, dude, that speed plays.
- 53:04That, well, that's what I was going to say.
- 53:05I'm not, I'm not, I'm not lumping them together
- 53:08necessarily, but it's going to be a situation where, you know,
- 53:10eventually the speed, you know, as with everybody, it's going
- 53:14to, it's going to fall off. But he's he's going to that's
- 53:17going to be a a solid third base opportunity for him later down
- 53:25the line. But we're not even we don't need
- 53:27to look that far ahead. We he's just not started just
- 53:30getting started. We we sort of are.
- 53:34I think we already talked about the snubs back, you know, like
- 53:37with the whole Lindor thing. And so we don't necessarily need
- 53:39to take take that route. But one thing I did want to
- 53:43mention though is the Chris Sale Gold Glove, which I don't think
- 53:48I had realized, but this was his first career Gold Glove.
- 53:52And it's going to be, I mean, he's going to be your Cy Young
- 53:54winner as well. So like just another piece of
- 53:56hardware for your old Chris Sale this year?
- 54:01All right, same thing. As far as pictures of the Gold
- 54:07Gloves, it's Maddox and then everyone else.
- 54:14That's fair. Shout out to Carlos Santana, the
- 54:17oldest position player to win his first Gold Glove.
- 54:23Sort of adding to the theme here.
- 54:25That's actually pretty, pretty wild, but yeah.
- 54:32Man's got some age to him. Yeah, good.
- 54:34You know what? Go get your.
- 54:36Go get your. Hardware Man, feel like that man
- 54:38has just absolutely gotten all things covered in the centrals.
- 54:45I feel like he's just had a stop at every.
- 54:48I feel like he's been in the league for 25 years.
- 54:53Give me, give me your actual guess how long you think Carlos
- 54:55Santana has been a league. No, not the guitarist. 14 years.
- 55:0715 years. Wow, Cleveland for 10, Royals
- 55:13for two, Philly for one, Minnesota for one, Pittsburgh
- 55:17for one, Seattle for one, and Milwaukee for one.
- 55:25Also, shout out to my boy. Shout out to my boy.
- 55:27Will your brave holding it down out there and right.
- 55:31Oh, very, very, very, very deserving.
- 55:35Thanks very. Deserving.
- 55:36Thank you. Hey, you know what?
- 55:37That means a lot. That means a lot.
- 55:39Thank you. Very deserving that guy is.
- 55:42He's going to continue to do that, too, like that, that
- 55:45place. And he may not even be here next
- 55:47year. We'll see.
- 55:48I don't know. By the way, Carlos Antenna Hall
- 55:51of Hall of Very Solid, Hall of Solid I.
- 55:54Was going to say there's. All of solid not.
- 55:56Solid all of all of Great Hall of Fame Olive Garden.
- 56:03No, not no. Can we talk?
- 56:08Well, we don't even have to talk about it, but just one closing
- 56:11thought on the Gold Glove. I mean there there are few
- 56:15awards better looking than the Gold Glove award.
- 56:20That's a great looking. I would love to have a goal and
- 56:24honestly like this, I don't know what like what do you get?
- 56:28Well, I it's like the silver when you it's when you get the
- 56:31platinum glove. It's like I I don't, which
- 56:33somehow doesn't hit the same. That's what I'm saying dude.
- 56:37I this might be a weird take, but like.
- 56:40Don't hit the same. Optically, if I've got a Gold
- 56:44Glove on my on my mantle as opposed and and I know the the
- 56:47platinum, that's what you strive for is a defender.
- 56:50Like if you care, if you care about your defensive game, you
- 56:53want to be a platinum defender. I get that, but we're talking
- 56:57about one of the better looking awards in in baseball 100%
- 57:02sports, the Golf Club award. How about it?
- 57:06Arguably the best looking trophy.
- 57:09Lastly here and then we'll get out of here this Padres prospect
- 57:14age thing. Fill me in guy, I don't know
- 57:19what you're talking about all. Right, so Major League Baseball
- 57:23ran an investigation, found that it's one of the higher up
- 57:29prospects coming out of the Dr. who had verbally committed.
- 57:37Agreed what however you want to say?
- 57:39Agreed to sign with the Padres. Turned out that he was actually
- 57:43five years older and he actually was.
- 57:47So he was playing 12 U ball as a 17 year old, which it's kind of
- 57:52wild because if you take like you like.
- 57:56What? If you take acting.
- 57:58Like this is new. No, but I'm saying it, it's just
- 58:01funny 'cause like if you take you and I's state championship
- 58:05run team like that team back in God, what is that?
- 58:08O 6 If you stick A17A great year, you stick A you stick AA17
- 58:15year old in the mix. Maybe we did face one.
- 58:19Maybe that's why we got eliminated.
- 58:22People had asked, I mean, to be fair, I mean not to like put
- 58:25myself on the back here, but people had asked to see like my
- 58:28birth certificate, 'cause if you remember, like I, oh, you're
- 58:31huge you. I was a man.
- 58:33You were 511 and shaving. Yeah, I was so I I kind of get
- 58:39it, but I I still didn't look like a 17 year old.
- 58:42I can't imagine playing 12 U ball at 17.
- 58:44But just to your point, this is not new.
- 58:48This is not. New.
- 58:50This feels so much like the like the Eppler getting the
- 58:55suspension for fraudulent IL stints of players.
- 59:00Like everyone knows. We all know.
- 59:04We all know Albert Pujols is really 60.
- 59:09Nelson Cruz is is 75. Like they're all old. 75.
- 59:16They're all old. We all know this.
- 59:17You're not wrong. You're not wrong.
- 59:18They're all, they all have grandkids.
- 59:21This is not new. Good for The Who?
- 59:27Who? So there's had to have been a
- 59:29whistleblower here playing 12 you ball.
- 59:35That's crazy. He, well, he's now, he's now 19.
- 59:41He was documented as 14 at the time.
- 59:44I guess that they ran this investigation.
- 59:46He had represented, yeah, had represented the Dr. at EU
- 59:5212/20/22 World Cup and the U15 Pan Am Championships.
- 59:58Tough. Yeah, it's just not.
- 1:00:05It doesn't really do anything, you know, like I'm.
- 1:00:08Surprised, I think he tried to slip a 20 in there and said I am
- 1:00:1212 but they weren't having it. Wasn't enough.
- 1:00:18They said this. When was that movie made?
- 1:00:20You got to up your price, buddy. Like we're not taking, we're not
- 1:00:23taking 20s. If that was the price back then,
- 1:00:26when did Benchwarmers come out? Let me come out, Let me see, let
- 1:00:29me see, let me see. I, I, I I'm going to guess 07.
- 1:00:37I'm going to say. I've got the number.
- 1:00:39No, that's, that's going back too far.
- 1:00:41It's actually O 6. Shoot good movie.
- 1:00:49I feel like it still holds up. I'm not sure though, it's been a
- 1:00:51while. I don't think that movie would
- 1:00:55fly today, but. That's why it's good.
- 1:00:58That's why. It's good.
- 1:01:00And on that note. That's 18 years ago.
- 1:01:03That's insane. How old are we?
- 1:01:06I'm 75. That was 18 years ago.
- 1:01:09O6. Is that what I said?
- 1:01:12Oh, I guess O seven. Yeah.
- 1:01:16And it was O 618 years ago. Is that 18 years?
- 1:01:19Math. Math.
- 1:01:20No, what are you talking about? That's that.
- 1:01:22That's 16 years. No, no, you're right.
- 1:01:26No 18. 2006. 2618, Oh, my goodness.
- 1:01:32Oh, right. Yeah, duh.
- 1:01:32Because we were twelve. Yeah.
- 1:01:34And I'm 31 now. What's going on?
- 1:01:37What's going on? Oh, my goodness.
- 1:01:41Speaking of which, I guess I got to get to bed this.
- 1:01:45Stop asleepy. I eat dinner at like 330 now and
- 1:01:49I get to bed around 5:00 so it's.
- 1:01:51Fair. I get up for that sunrise.
- 1:01:53I'm a I'm hours fresh cup of. Joe, I'm my, I'm my first poop.
- 1:01:59Before people even roll over, hit the alarm, they need to know
- 1:02:05that. With that being said, we all
- 1:02:10done, Yeah. Let's get out of here.
- 1:02:13What great, great start to the offseason, my friend, Do you you
- 1:02:17were coming into this. You were a little bit of a wild
- 1:02:19card. I didn't really know what to
- 1:02:20expect of you, but you really half asleep.
- 1:02:23You really you really brought it tonight.
- 1:02:25So I I appreciate you and I appreciate you folks that have
- 1:02:29chosen to watch or listen along. This is just the start of what's
- 1:02:35what what we hope to be is an exciting offseason.
- 1:02:39Some things are going to start falling into place with moves
- 1:02:41and and rosters and all that. And then we obviously got more
- 1:02:45awards coming, so we'll be breaking those down.
- 1:02:48So yeah, if, if you're still needing that baseball fix this,
- 1:02:54you're going to get it here. I know like I talked about, we
- 1:02:57did it ourselves, but I know a lot of I know a lot of other, I
- 1:03:01won't name names, but I know a lot of other a lot of a lot of
- 1:03:05other shows, a lot of other entities maybe kind of lay low
- 1:03:08this time of year we're. Not us trying.
- 1:03:10Something a little different this year, so stick with us and
- 1:03:14we'll be we'll be covering all things baseball moving forward.
- 1:03:17So that's all I got. I'm Ron Burgundy.
- 1:03:22Don't go chasing curveballs. We love you all and as always,
- 1:03:25looking forward to talking more baseball with you guys soon.
- 1:03:27Until next time, stay filthy.
