Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Unreal, my wife is awake and ordering things on Amazon. Hey, well, hi.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We're on the air. It's Cubby Christine, producer Kristen. Morning,
- 0:06Speaker 2: Light FM. I'm just.
- 0:08Speaker 3: How did you catch her, by the way?
- 0:10Speaker 1: Because she just texted me and said, thank you for
- 0:12Speaker 1: letting me know. I just bought it. Are you familiar
- 0:15Speaker 1: with Amazon doing invites? If there's a product that's in
- 0:19Speaker 1: demand and you can't purchase it right away, you can
- 0:23Speaker 1: be asked to be invited. Then they'll send you an
- 0:25Speaker 1: email when you can order it. It's almost like you're waiting...
- 0:29Speaker 1: behind the rope at a club.
- 0:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:31Speaker 2: And you're waiting for the door guy to open up
- 0:33Speaker 2: the rope and let you go in the club.
- 0:35Speaker 3: But you better jump, right?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah. So she told me, my wife said, because I
- 0:38Speaker 1: get all the Amazon emails, even though she's on the
- 0:41Speaker 1: app ordering all the time, I get the emails.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Uh-oh, you know what's going on then.
- 0:44Speaker 2: What's coming, yeah, you know, you know.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So I got an email about five days ago and
- 0:48Speaker 1: she said, look out for this. It says, invitation requested
- 0:53Speaker 1: and received. We processed your request. We send invites to
- 0:56Speaker 1: qualified customers regularly. while supplies last. If you're invited to purchase,
- 1:01Speaker 1: you have an email with a link. It's valid for
- 1:03Speaker 1: 72 hours. Now, we're trying to buy these Neetos. If
- 1:07Speaker 1: you have a kid, you probably are aware of these.
- 1:10Speaker 1: They're the hot thing right now. It's basically just a
- 1:12Speaker 1: squishy thing, but they're all different kinds, Christy.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Almost like a stress ball.
- 1:16Speaker 2: That's all it is.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Kind of that, yeah, smushes and stretches.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 1:20Speaker 1: It's no big deal in my opinion, but all the
- 1:23Speaker 1: kids love it. Naomi wants one. Miles wants one. They
- 1:26Speaker 1: have different colors, blah, blah, blah. So a week ago,
- 1:29Speaker 1: we got the invitation request received. That was the email.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And then at 4 a.m. this morning, I got the
- 1:35Speaker 1: email saying, congratulations, you're invited. You now have 72 hours
- 1:41Speaker 1: from the time this email was sent to complete the purchase. Oh, wow.
- 1:45Speaker 1: So I forward that email to Coco, my wife, at
- 1:47Speaker 1: like 5.20 this morning.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Thinking she'll see this when she gets up.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Correct. 5.35, I get a text. Good morning. Thank you.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Ordered. Yay.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Oh, wow. I thought she was sleeping until like right
- 2:00Speaker 2: about now, but apparently she was up.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I think maybe like when it comes to shopping, we
- 2:04Speaker 3: sense something's going on.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Is that what it is?
- 2:06Speaker 3: We wake up and we can do it. We can
- 2:08Speaker 3: do it.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yes. It's like an alarm.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It's like a superpower that we have.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know how long Amazon's been doing this,
- 2:14Speaker 1: but I'm curious if you can text us at 44363.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I guess some things are just so in demand that
- 2:20Speaker 1: you can't get it at the moment. But hey, we'll
- 2:22Speaker 1: put you on the waiting list. And then you have
- 2:23Speaker 1: to be like, I was so fearful of missing this email.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Because she's like, keep an eye out for this email.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And I'm like, if I miss this email, I'm in
- 2:31Speaker 1: the doghouse.
- 2:32Speaker 3: I mean, there's clothing companies, right? Where there's something I
- 2:35Speaker 3: want and it's like sold out. We'll let you know
- 2:36Speaker 3: when it comes in and you get an email. But
- 2:38Speaker 3: it doesn't feel, it's not quite like that. It doesn't
- 2:40Speaker 3: feel as urgent.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I know.
- 2:42Speaker 3: This feels like she had to move.
- 2:44Speaker 1: The only good thing is you do have 72 hours
- 2:46Speaker 1: from the time this email was sent, it says. But gosh,
- 2:49Speaker 1: if I miss this email and then all of a
- 2:51Speaker 1: sudden on Monday- She's like, you should have gotten it
- 2:53Speaker 1: by now.
- 2:53Speaker 3: And I kind of, oh, man. Yeah, there it was.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Crisis.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no.
- 2:58Speaker 3: You're good.
- 2:58Speaker 2: You're good. You're covered. Going into the weekend. Pretty good
- 3:01Speaker 2: so far.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Yes.
- 3:02Speaker 2: All right. Thanks for going well for me. How about you?
- 3:04Speaker 2: What are your big plans, Christine?
- 3:05Speaker 3: Well, I'm coming back tonight because you know me. I
- 3:07Speaker 3: can't get enough in New York City.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You're escaping New York and then coming back.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Coming back to New York. And it is for a
- 3:12Speaker 3: good reason because there's a new musical. It just opened
- 3:15Speaker 3: last night, actually. I'm going to go see it with
- 3:17Speaker 3: my friend Ann Sayre. And it was Duncan Sheik's. Probably
- 3:21Speaker 3: the last musical that he worked on.
- 3:23Speaker 2: No kidding.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen. It's got an amazing cast, Sofia
- 3:27Speaker 3: and Caruso. I'm trying to look at reviews right now.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I think it's going to be wonderful.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we all.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Look, remember Duncan Sheik? His big hit, Barely Breathing? And
- 3:37Speaker 1: then you think, okay, here's a one-hit wonder. What did
- 3:39Speaker 1: he do after that? He did a lot after.
- 3:41Speaker 3: A lot of, you know, Spring Awakening.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he just did some incredibly beautiful work. And it
- 3:47Speaker 3: feels like everyone who knew him... Just really, really loved him.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Great things to say about him and his talent and
- 3:53Speaker 3: the person that he was. So I'm really, really glad
- 3:56Speaker 3: we were able to get tickets to this.
- 3:57Speaker 2: We'll get a full review on Monday from you.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Let's play Duncan Chic.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Go for it.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Barely Breathing.
- 4:03Speaker 1: We lost Duncan a few weeks ago. We'll play that
- 4:06Speaker 1: next on Light FM.
