Darius Rucker is seriously considering retirement from touring in about two years, after playing over 100 shows last year and finding he’s happier at home. He wants to do one final big tour with Hootie & the Blowfish before calling it quits — ideally ending it all at Williams-Brice Stadium, his beloved South Carolina Gamecocks’ home field. While he’s stepping back from the road, he still plans to keep making music, signaling a scaled-down but meaningful exit as country legends like Alan Jackson retire around him.
