- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for Back to the Basics in Healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Balanced Life Chiropractic. We have Dr. Harley, and I bet
- 0:04Speaker 1: we're going to talk about T3 today, right?
- 0:06Speaker 2: You are correct. We are on our third thoracic vertebrae.
- 0:11Speaker 2: We've done one and two already. Remember, there are 12
- 0:14Speaker 2: of them, so we are working our way through the
- 0:15Speaker 2: upper back.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Yes, and the thoracic part is where we're at right now,
- 0:19Speaker 1: so welcome to thoracic part.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Oh, wait, sorry.
- 0:23Speaker 1: And this is connected to a lot of stuff that's
- 0:25Speaker 1: like respiratory type of stuff, right? Is it because it's
- 0:28Speaker 1: near your lungs?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Well, the T3-2 area, we start seeing a lot more
- 0:33Speaker 2: big organ effect. And so last time we talked about
- 0:37Speaker 2: the heart, this time we're talking about the lungs. We're
- 0:38Speaker 2: kind of working our way down the body. And as
- 0:41Speaker 2: we're working our way down the spine, we're also working
- 0:43Speaker 2: our way down our organ systems as well because those
- 0:45Speaker 2: nerves are what control part of that functioning.
- 0:48Speaker 1: They're all connected. And again, I'm looking on the list here.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I see things like bronchitis and pleurisy and pneumonia and
- 0:54Speaker 1: congestion and influenza and This time of year, you hear
- 0:57Speaker 1: a lot of people talking about like influenza and bronchitis.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So this is probably a good time to be talking
- 1:02Speaker 1: about this.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, this is great timing for this. As we have
- 1:04Speaker 2: now transitioned from summer more into fall, back to school,
- 1:08Speaker 2: we start seeing more coughs and congestion. We can even
- 1:12Speaker 2: get sicker. We get the flu or bronchitis or things
- 1:14Speaker 2: like that.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And even if you didn't get it from a back issue,
- 1:18Speaker 1: if you have this and you get your T3 adjusted,
- 1:21Speaker 1: that certainly would help make it get better quicker, wouldn't it?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a couple ways that getting adjusted can help
- 1:27Speaker 2: with this. So as we're going down our thoracic spine,
- 1:30Speaker 2: we'll talk a little bit more about movement, the rib cage,
- 1:32Speaker 2: all of that combined, because as we breathe, you know,
- 1:34Speaker 2: our ribs kind of expand out. Well, if we're out
- 1:36Speaker 2: of alignment and things are locked up, it's going to
- 1:39Speaker 2: affect how we're breathing. So if you're coughing a lot, hacking,
- 1:43Speaker 2: you know, that can throw your upper back out of alignment,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and that can cause some more of that kind of
- 1:47Speaker 2: constricted feeling, as well as adjusting our spine helps our
- 1:51Speaker 2: nervous system to function better. So that's going to help
- 1:54Speaker 2: lead better communication to our lungs, bring in the immune system,
- 1:57Speaker 2: and it's going to help us fight off those bugs
- 1:59Speaker 2: and germs a lot better too. Very nice.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I know I've done that before where I've coughed so
- 2:03Speaker 1: hard I literally like pulled a muscle. Or maybe it
- 2:06Speaker 1: was put something out of alignment, but I know it
- 2:09Speaker 1: felt like it didn't feel good because I coughed too hard.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm like, is that what it's like to get old?
- 2:13Speaker 1: Apparently it is.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And another aspect of the thoracic spine, if you start
- 2:17Speaker 2: throwing the ribs in there, coughing too much can throw
- 2:20Speaker 2: the ribs out. So then it feels like you're getting
- 2:21Speaker 2: stabbed every time I take a breath. Yeah, that's not
- 2:23Speaker 2: a fun feeling either.
- 2:25Speaker 1: That is not. So if somebody listening is experiencing some issues,
- 2:28Speaker 1: whether it's bronchitis, pleurisy, pneumonia, congestion, influenza, that could be
- 2:33Speaker 1: tied to T3. And if they're going, hey, I'd like
- 2:35Speaker 1: to come in and see if I can get some
- 2:36Speaker 1: things adjusted because I'd like this to go away quicker.
- 2:39Speaker 1: What is the best way for them to connect with
- 2:41Speaker 1: you here at Balanced Life Chiropractic?
- 2:42Speaker 2: It starts with scheduling a new patient appointment. So you
- 2:45Speaker 2: can do that by giving us a call. Our phone
- 2:47Speaker 2: number is 605-215-1785 or even have a book online option
