32 00:01:53,000 --> 00:01:55,000 That'd be the dream job 33 00:01:55,000 --> 00:01:58,000 But what do we prefer to wrestle wrestling to review and recap? 34 00:01:58,000 --> 00:02:01,000 Because I thought it was a really strong week for professional wrestling 35 00:02:01,000 --> 00:02:03,000 And WWE and AEW 36 00:02:03,000 --> 00:02:07,000 Obviously the biggest news item is that 37 00:02:07,000 --> 00:02:12,000 John Cena is our brand new intercontinental champion 38 00:02:12,000 --> 00:02:16,000 And he's become a Grand Slam Champion in WWE 39 00:02:16,000 --> 00:02:19,000 It's kind of absurd 40 00:02:19,000 --> 00:02:25,000 That, uh, what today's November 13th, he officially ends his career in WWE a month from today 41 00:02:25,000 --> 00:02:26,000 On December 13th 42 00:02:26,000 --> 00:02:28,000 That it took this part of his career 43 00:02:28,000 --> 00:02:30,000 He has four weeks left to go 44 00:02:30,000 --> 00:02:33,000 To become a Grand Slam Champion 45 00:02:33,000 --> 00:02:37,000 And I think probably most people thought that that wouldn't happen 46 00:02:37,000 --> 00:02:41,000 Up until he announced his farewell tour 47 00:02:41,000 --> 00:02:44,000 Last year about like what 18 months ago at this point 48 00:02:44,000 --> 00:02:47,000 Over in London, during Monday the bank 49 00:02:47,000 --> 00:02:50,000 I think everybody was clamoring for him to get a run with the intercontinental championship 50 00:02:50,000 --> 00:02:53,000 That was always something I would see online 51 00:02:53,000 --> 00:02:55,000 Over the last couple months 52 00:02:55,000 --> 00:02:59,000 A lot of people wanted to see him be to take on Dominic Mysterio for the intercontinental championship 53 00:02:59,000 --> 00:03:03,000 There were rumors that Cena would be taking on Dominic Mysterio Survivor Series 54 00:03:03,000 --> 00:03:05,000 War Games for the intercontinental championship 55 00:03:05,000 --> 00:03:10,000 That got moved forward according reports to this past week's edition of Raw in Boston 56 00:03:10,000 --> 00:03:16,000 The second to last edition of Raw, the Chancine will be on as an active competitor of the WWE roster 57 00:03:16,000 --> 00:03:19,000 And what a cool moment 58 00:03:19,000 --> 00:03:24,000 I'm glad they did it when they did because it was nobody sought coming 59 00:03:24,000 --> 00:03:29,000 And that's what makes professional wrestling special is 60 00:03:29,000 --> 00:03:33,000 A lot of wrestling fans are tuned in nowadays to the Dirt Cheats podcast 61 00:03:33,000 --> 00:03:37,000 Reading stuff on X websites, what have you paying for it 62 00:03:37,000 --> 00:03:40,000 As ways to get the new cycle out there 63 00:03:40,000 --> 00:03:47,000 And I'm sure everybody saw the reports that Cena and Dom was tentatively penciled in for Survivor Series War game 64 00:03:47,000 --> 00:03:50,000 And then you know, they saved it for Boston, they make the call there 65 00:03:50,000 --> 00:03:54,000 And the reaction, I watched it back twice 66 00:03:54,000 --> 00:03:59,000 If you haven't done it already, please go out of your way to watch that three count 67 00:03:59,000 --> 00:04:02,000 And when the count of three happens 68 00:04:02,000 --> 00:04:08,000 There's this like buzz on the speaker of Raw 69 00:04:08,000 --> 00:04:20,000 And that was like decimals going above of what the audience reacted to and just losing their absolute minds to what had happened there 70 00:04:20,000 --> 00:04:26,000 I mean it was a legitimate insane pop that is always teppered by what you could hear on television 71 00:04:26,000 --> 00:04:35,000 But you could tell it was something major based on that little like noise that you hear after the three count of John Cena, Penny and Dominic Mysterio 72 00:04:35,000 --> 00:04:38,000 And becoming the brand new Intercontinental Champion 73 00:04:38,000 --> 00:04:40,000 And becoming a Grand Slam Champion 74 00:04:40,000 --> 00:04:43,000 And I think the stories will be here over the next couple of weeks 75 00:04:43,000 --> 00:04:48,000 Like how are they going to progress forward with him as the Intercontinental Champion 76 00:04:48,000 --> 00:04:53,000 Obviously rumblings that he would have the Intercontinental Championship in his final match 77 00:04:53,000 --> 00:04:57,000 That it may be for the Intercontinental Championship 78 00:04:57,000 --> 00:05:01,000 Obviously Cena is not going to retire the Intercontinental Championship 79 00:05:01,000 --> 00:05:05,000 So you know how much of a play does the ICT title have in this? 80 00:05:05,000 --> 00:05:09,000 Is Cena in a couple weeks going to be taking on Dominic Mysterio again? 81 00:05:09,000 --> 00:05:14,000 So our series War Game and drop the title back to Dom in his hometown of San Diego, California 82 00:05:14,000 --> 00:05:17,000 To give a little hat tip to Dom Mysterio 83 00:05:17,000 --> 00:05:27,000 I think a lot of people are thinking that maybe Cena will be part of the War Game match now that we're kind of seeing that outline take place with Logan Paul in the vision 84 00:05:27,000 --> 00:05:30,000 And CM Punk, J.U. Sohn Cody Rhodes 85 00:05:30,000 --> 00:05:44,000 If they add two more people, one more person, that would be great. I made a huge ploy for the dream team babyface team that they were going to put together of like a punk J.U. Sohn Cody, Roman and Cena 86 00:05:44,000 --> 00:05:51,000 Meltzer addressed that I saw online earlier today and basically said that is not happening according to his sources in WWE 87 00:05:51,000 --> 00:05:54,000 Which I think is a mistake. I think Cena and War Games would be amazing 88 00:05:54,000 --> 00:06:01,000 And I think he should be in that match. Add Roman in there to give us the dream team babyface roster at War Games 89 00:06:01,000 --> 00:06:05,000 So Cena has next, or this coming Monday now at Mass at Square Garden 90 00:06:05,000 --> 00:06:11,000 He is definitely resting on this Raw folks. This is not going to be him doing a promo 91 00:06:11,000 --> 00:06:18,000 If it is a week from now, I will certainly eat my words figuratively, not literally 92 00:06:18,000 --> 00:06:25,000 And that's just a missed opportunity. Mass at Square Garden, final Raw for John Cena, he needs to be in the ring there. He needs to be wrestling 93 00:06:25,000 --> 00:06:35,000 I seem to think that we're going to get a John Cena CM Punk match at MSG. I think it has to be a special match. It has to be a special opponent 94 00:06:35,000 --> 00:06:43,000 And I would love to see Punk and Cena tackle one more time. And why the hell not? If you want to put the World title on the line, let's do it 95 00:06:43,000 --> 00:06:52,000 But there has to be a special match this Monday on Raw looking really, really forward to that as our new Intercontinental Champion 96 00:06:52,000 --> 00:07:01,000 It's wild that John Cena never was Intercontinental Championship. It's always been a staple with the World title obviously, World Heavyweight Championship, WWE Championship 97 00:07:01,000 --> 00:07:11,000 Secondary titles, United States Championship is the initial run before he became WWE Champion. Before he took on JBL was with the Spinner, United States Championship 98 00:07:11,000 --> 00:07:20,000 Actually defended at WrestleMania 20 against the Big Show or won at WrestleMania 20 against the Big Show. And then I had later in his career was the US Open Challenge. 99 00:07:20,000 --> 00:07:31,000 It's amazing that they never got an Intercontinental Championship run on Cena. If you ask me at one time I'd be less than 10% chance happening that John Cena becomes a Grand Slam Champion. 100 00:07:31,000 --> 00:07:40,000 They wanted to add a little bit more to the resume for John Cena. Tighten it up, really solidify him as the greatest of all time that WWE is really pushing. 101 00:07:40,000 --> 00:07:51,000 How can you argue it now with him having an Intercontinental Championship run under his belt and officially becoming a Grand Slam Champion in WWE and winning all of the titles in World Wrestling Entertainment? 102 00:07:51,000 --> 00:07:58,000 While that was a huge take away from this past week's edition of Monday Night Raw, John Cena becoming the Intercontinental Champion, becoming a Grand Slam Champion. 103 00:07:58,000 --> 00:08:16,000 When I thought it was a huge take away here and kind of gets lost in the shuffle of him winning the Intercontinental Championship, he announces in that opening promo with Triple H to kick off Raw prior to Dominic Mysterio interrupting him that his final night in WWE, the Saturday Night's Main Event, on December 13th, will feature WWE vs NXT matches. 104 00:08:16,000 --> 00:08:25,000 He called them exhibition matches which I thought was adorable. And what a poetic way for John Cena to end up his career. 105 00:08:25,000 --> 00:08:39,000 And reports are out there that I guess, and we saw this on various wrestlers posting on social media. I think I saw Izzy Dame, Blake Monroe had posted that John Cena was down with the PC, taking pictures with the wrestlers. 106 00:08:39,000 --> 00:08:54,000 And I guess it was during that time where he came up with this idea, according to what people are saying is that he really wanted to feature the future of World Wrestling Entertainment on his last night in the company and give that opportunity of WWE vs NXT matches. 107 00:08:54,000 --> 00:09:12,000 And that's really, really cool. It's a cool call back to him debuting July 2002, the ruthless aggression era of WWE, Vince McMahon going past Steve Austin, the rock, that era of WWE and looking towards the future. 108 00:09:12,000 --> 00:09:24,000 Giving John Cena an opportunity to wrestle Kurt Angle in his very first match in WWE, his first night in WWE, coming from OVW, nearly beating Kurt Angle. 109 00:09:24,000 --> 00:09:37,000 Kurt Angle squeaking out of victory, John Cena getting love from Undertaker backstage. What I'm surprised isn't often discussed, is that like weeks later, Vengeance 2002 pay-per-view July 2022, 2002, excuse me. 110 00:09:37,000 --> 00:09:49,000 John Cena defeats Chris Jericho in a pay-per-view match, which is not being discussed, which is kind of odd. But that first month, John Cena nearly defeats Kurt Angle, ends up defeating Chris Jericho at Vengeance 2002. 111 00:09:49,000 --> 00:09:59,000 And it's a great call back to, again, his entire career, and it's a full circle moment for John Cena, and I love that he's doing this. 112 00:09:59,000 --> 00:10:11,000 And it's a matter of what will these matches look like. We're already seeing Javon Evans taking on Gunther in the last time and now is now tournament. That'll be taking place this Monday's edition of RAW. 113 00:10:11,000 --> 00:10:19,000 I don't expect Javon Evans to defeat Gunther, but hopefully he gets on a good show case and does have the opportunity to do that. 114 00:10:19,000 --> 00:10:35,000 Saturday's main event is a two-hour show. Maybe they go over, I know they did recently. The one that was in Utah, being that it's seen his last night, and they're not constrained to NBC and having a hard stop at 10 p.m. East Coast. Maybe they will run long. 115 00:10:35,000 --> 00:10:51,000 Who could be featured there? Will it be a Ricky Starks? A Ricky St. excuse me. Will Trick Williams, Oba Femi? Will they put Javon Evans out there? And then the female sign, Kalani Jordan, Izzy Dame. Tatum Paxley, Blake Monroe. 116 00:10:51,000 --> 00:11:05,000 The list goes on and on and on. And that's exciting to think about some potential NXT Dream matches that could be out there. Could we see Cody Rhodes taking on his protege, Ricky St. St. W.W.E. The NXT Champion taking on the WWE Champion. 117 00:11:05,000 --> 00:11:15,000 It's just a really nice homage to John Cena's career and a hat tipped everything that he's accomplished that he's, he's like, I want to use this opportunity, this platform. 118 00:11:15,000 --> 00:11:26,000 Because a lot of eyes will be tuned in to go, yeah, this is my swan song, but on my way out. This is the last time, the last time is now. But here is the future of WWE that is going to be following my lead. 119 00:11:26,000 --> 00:11:42,000 It's a bittersweet moment, right? We talked about it last week's show. This entire thing is very, very bittersweet. You get nostalgic because you think of the era that John Cena was in. I was in stone high school when John Cena debuted in WWE in 2002. 120 00:11:42,000 --> 00:11:55,000 Here I am nearly 40 years old, the son of my own who is still too young to be watching professional wrestling. Unfortunately, if you're his mother, and it's just sad, right? 121 00:11:55,000 --> 00:12:06,000 I mean, it's like these last licks of childhood that you have of growing up. I was a teenager when John Cena was performing in when he debuted in 2002, again, still in high school. 122 00:12:06,000 --> 00:12:16,000 It reminds me a lot of being an Yankee fan when Derek Cheter retired from WWE. It's like a piece of my childhood, a piece of growing up. A chapter was closing. 123 00:12:16,000 --> 00:12:30,000 And while I'm not the biggest NBA fan as I used to be anymore, I'm not the biggest LeBron James fan in the world. I do look at LeBron James probably in that same light because there's another guy that when I was in high school, I was watching him play basketball in high school. 124 00:12:30,000 --> 00:12:40,000 And it made his debut in NBA, almost a WWE. While he did show up in the WWE with his shelf phone taking pictures of Stone Cold Steve Austin. 125 00:12:40,000 --> 00:12:58,000 Yeah, it's just nostalgic to be like, this is an end of an era. This is an end of a chapter in adulthood, even though we're there. For me, nearly 40 years old, you still are able to look back a little bit and go, well, at least that's still going on because that's from my childhood. 126 00:12:58,000 --> 00:13:10,000 And how the older you get, there's fewer of those instances now in your life. So, yeah, that's an nostalgic factor for me right now is dealing with that. A month out of John Cena fell well tour coming to an end of like. 127 00:13:10,000 --> 00:13:25,000 All right, Intercontinental Championship win, awesome, Grand Sam Champion, check. He wants to devote his final night in WWE to look at the future and have these main roster versus NXT matches taking place, which is just so poetic. 128 00:13:25,000 --> 00:13:38,000 It's very, very cool, but at the same time, yeah, there's such a sadness. It's that selfish sadness that we have when you're seeing an era or a chapter close in your life. And there's certainly one with John Cena. 129 00:13:38,000 --> 00:13:54,000 So, New Intercontinental Champion, Grand Sam Champion, Final Night in WWE, WWE versus NXT matches, really, really excited to see how this all lays out and how those matches will be taking shape on the final line of John Cena. How many of those matches will be happening? 130 00:13:54,000 --> 00:14:04,000 Well, it will be four matches like we've seen with Saturday and it's been meant to be five matches. It's going to be very, very, very special night and I'm really looking forward to it as much as I don't want to see him go. 131 00:14:04,000 --> 00:14:18,000 This is a very special time in professional wrestling. And I felt like I said this about a year ago when the writer strike was going on in Hollywood in Cena, came back to WWE for like a two to three month run. 132 00:14:18,000 --> 00:14:35,000 And then he got a match against Solo Crown Jewel that he lost. I think he tagged with Jusso or Cody. And I was just telling people, just kind of enjoy what's taking place so often in life nowadays. 133 00:14:35,000 --> 00:14:52,000 You don't get an opportunity to kind of like take a step back or take a lay back at your chair a little bit more and take a look at what's going on and be like, I got a really photograph what I'm looking at here because in a month's time, two months time, we're never going to see it again. 134 00:14:52,000 --> 00:15:13,000 So when Cena's on your screen for Monday Night Raw, enjoy it. When Cena's on your screen for Survivor Series War Games, enjoy it. When Cena's on your screen for one last time at Santa Night to make a bet, enjoy it because O2 often we don't get these opportunities to really kind of be sponge and suck everything in that's going on right now and really just kind of embrace the moment. 135 00:15:13,000 --> 00:15:30,000 And this is certainly a moment for wrestling fans. So I hope everybody that is getting that opportunity to really embrace the moment of this final month of John Cena's career in World War Sintering Tayman switching gears to AW all the wrestling blood and guts was this past Wednesday night. 136 00:15:30,000 --> 00:15:45,000 Looking at the women's blood blood and guts match first and foremost, both blood and guts matches were really, really good. The amount of blood that these people deposited over the mat could have been used at a like a blood bank to help people out in a hospital. 137 00:15:45,000 --> 00:15:54,000 Maybe that's something a W should think about every once in a while is like, hey, why you guys are cutting yourselves up? Why don't we like donate a little bit of blood right now? So just stand over this bucket. 138 00:15:54,000 --> 00:16:06,000 Yeah, both matches were absolutely wild. The violence that was in there, the stuff that these people put themselves through the the bleeding and the blood buckets that they were born was absolutely insane. 139 00:16:06,000 --> 00:16:17,000 The women's blood and guts match. I loved except for the finish. I thought I loved the finish itself, the premise of the finish. 140 00:16:17,000 --> 00:16:31,000 Mina Sharikawa getting beaten to death, being choked up by Marina Shafir getting beaten by Megan Bain while the Triagno madness is holding Tony Storm who is absolutely like losing her mind was cinematically perfect. It was great. 141 00:16:31,000 --> 00:16:39,000 But I thought that they missed a moment because to me and I could be completely wrong about this of week from now I could be completely wrong. 142 00:16:39,000 --> 00:16:59,000 But you're doing the AW women's side team title tournament, right? And right now Mina and Tony are taking on, I can't remember the moment. Who are they taking on in their match? Why no Megan and Marina Shafir taking on Taijai is Tony. 143 00:16:59,000 --> 00:17:23,000 I don't know who they're taking on. That's so weird. But anyway, to me it's like you're spoiling the match itself. You're spoiling who is going to advance in the tournament whether it be Marina Shafir and Megan Bain moving forward or if it would be the Tony Storm and Mina Sharikawa. 144 00:17:23,000 --> 00:17:35,000 They're taking on Alex Windsor and Rio. So to me, Tony Storm, I think they spoiled it. I think Tony Storm and Mina Sharikawa defeat Alex Windsor and Rio. That makes more sense right now. 145 00:17:35,000 --> 00:17:49,000 Megan Bain and Marina Shafir are going to defeat Taijai so that we get to that next match in the semi finals leading into the winner then goes to the finals to become the new and the first ever AW women's side team champions. 146 00:17:49,000 --> 00:18:03,000 If they did those match results a week prior where they advanced Tony and Mina and advanced Marina and Megan, I'm all here. I love it. You're setting up. There's some, you know, umph behind what's going on here for just a semi final match. 147 00:18:03,000 --> 00:18:18,000 What I've loved to see that as a final match. Absolutely. However, they don't do that. They decide that they're going to do this finish and potentially spoil two matches in the tournament, which I feel like they are going to be doing is spoiling two matches in this tournament. 148 00:18:18,000 --> 00:18:47,000 By the result that we saw at the end of blood and guts. So I felt like that was like a missed opportunity by AW there and I was like you basically just spoiled two matches in tournament because there's emphasis now between wanting to see Mina and Tony taking on Shafir and Megan Bain. However, there's a potential right creatively that Tony and Mina could have their match cost by Megan and Marina where then Windsor and Rio move forward and I think that's going to be a great deal. 149 00:18:47,000 --> 00:19:00,000 And in the same sense that receipt could be paid where Bain and Shafir losing the first round because of something that Tony and Mina do I don't think that's the direction I would want to see as a viewer as a fan watching at home. 150 00:19:00,000 --> 00:19:11,000 But there is that potential there, but I do feel like they they kind of spoil the finish and go back to that match. The match was great overall and it just seemed like the finish people weren't. 151 00:19:11,000 --> 00:19:29,000 They were either shocked or they didn't know what was going on that was kind of hard to. I think if someone's going to surrender I would almost want the the ref to have the microphone like in the old I quit matches because I don't know if it was the camera shot or whatever, but it was definitely missed. 152 00:19:29,000 --> 00:19:47,000 I did not see the whole like Tony storm is is surrendering stuff it was hard to really see what was going on there so it was it was just like a non finish to a really really good match. 153 00:19:47,000 --> 00:19:57,000 And I don't think the finish should completely overshadow everything that was going on it was like 95% of that match was amazing it was like 5% like this could have been tweaked a little bit more really really cool. 154 00:19:57,000 --> 00:20:03,000 Would have seen a better build up props to all the women for delivering the blood and guts match and finally get one under the belt. 155 00:20:03,000 --> 00:20:12,000 In a very very overall solid 2.5 hour show for me w and in the same sense the men's blood and guts match I thought it was really really really really well done. 156 00:20:12,000 --> 00:20:26,000 Very enjoyable match I'm not at this point my life I'm not someone who thinks that we need as much violence and blood as a w delivers in these matches as they do it always seems like they try to go over the top and grows people out. 157 00:20:26,000 --> 00:20:40,000 Which was again the case here I mean Kylo Riley blood buckets I mean absolute buckets there at the end like you could actually like seeing it squirting out like and he just looks completely covered. 158 00:20:40,000 --> 00:20:55,000 He was absolutely insane the Darby Allen body press spot off the top of the stage from pot pack to Gabe kid who's at the bottom you know putting lighter fuel fluid lighting the tables on fire and putting Darby through it. 159 00:20:55,000 --> 00:21:06,000 But honestly it's just another one of those things it's like what are we doing sometimes I don't know what's more insane like Darby Allen takes a press slam off the top. 160 00:21:06,000 --> 00:21:18,000 Lands with nothing underneath him on the ground and rolls around because he's more concerned about being on fire or he does it while be or he goes through a table that's on fire. 161 00:21:18,000 --> 00:21:34,000 Like I think what's lost in the fact that he gets dropped off the top there through a table that's on fires that he lands on concrete like there's nothing underneath there that is that is cushioning the fall whatsoever and he's rolling around like markets are about the fire like that's to me is absolutely mind blowing. 162 00:21:34,000 --> 00:22:02,000 The mark brisco spot where he is missing his time I would have liked to see the dog cows family maybe lay him out or walk away from the scene of the incident we did not see them maybe they weren't booked for the show but they did they end up doing the stuff with drastic express by the scenes that was take the week prior which makes me think that I don't know if that adds anything to the mark brisco Kyle Fletcher match right now for full gear. 163 00:22:02,000 --> 00:22:14,000 There's these weird little on creative things that are going on right now in the in the crux of the men's blood and guts match like you have. 164 00:22:14,000 --> 00:22:21,000 Mark brisco feuding with conflict with the non cows family yet he's quasi feuding with. 165 00:22:21,000 --> 00:22:40,000 The death riders for this match Kylo Riley has been on this insane essential which we'll get to hear momentarily by just owning John moxley meanwhile it is felt like Darby Allen was the next quote guy and didn't get as over as Kylo Riley has in this. 166 00:22:40,000 --> 00:22:55,000 He just came off of moxley that Kyle Riley is at in this not so much feud over the last several weeks like those are a couple of of the gripes that I have is is again the creative for both the women's and the men matches. 167 00:22:55,000 --> 00:23:04,000 Just made it feel like it was thrown together which is going on in WWE right now as well with the war games matches but it did feel like it was thrown together. 168 00:23:04,000 --> 00:23:31,000 To the point the ascension of Kyle or Riley really really fun to watch making moxley tap out again like you're making a star but like how they handle this they should be handling the situation with kid gloves because how they handle what Kyle or Riley is doing right now will be really really interesting because is it for gotten a month's time or is he on this ascension where maybe gets an opportunity to run with the title like we're right around the corner with the continental classic. 169 00:23:31,000 --> 00:23:41,000 If they're calling it the continental classic I would be making Kyle or Riley the favorite right now like it is been really a very nice organic natural run. 170 00:23:41,000 --> 00:23:53,000 I wanted to make a case for it's funny post show last week I was like I wonder if they're going to make Roderick strong turn at some point in the call combination and specifically Kyle Riley and join up with the death writers. 171 00:23:53,000 --> 00:24:05,000 I thought there was a potential for that happy that match it did not happen we got a really cool finish moxley continues to put over Kyle or Riley and it recapped a really solid two and a half hour eight of your blood and guts. 172 00:24:05,000 --> 00:24:26,000 She'll if you have not an opportunity to go out there and watch you get absolutely go out of your way great free pay per view right there delivered by all the rest of this past Tuesday I do think they should probably space it out the next time and not do it so close around so serious war games but that may have been strategic as well as like an FU back to the view that's like this is how we do things. 173 00:24:26,000 --> 00:24:37,000 And now try to top what we just did and and like a month's time fans be like hey blood and guts was way better than war games or the mace a war games was way better than blood and guts so. 174 00:24:37,000 --> 00:24:45,000 I would like to see that space out a little bit more than from what we saw between both companies AW and world of entertainment. 175 00:24:45,000 --> 00:25:05,000 Keeping with quasi AW news I saw this recently this is from talk is Jericho via Russell purist Chris Jericho recently said that TNA looked like the second biggest company the world at bound for glory quote saying that crowd looked huge it looked huge it was like a WWE level crowd the place was packed. 176 00:25:05,000 --> 00:25:19,000 I was watching this and not saying anything out of school here but comparing it to watching dynamite when they were at the ECW arena which like they could Tony con Dello taping sorry it did TNA looked like the second biggest company the world and that was amazing and the presentation was amazing. 177 00:25:19,000 --> 00:25:33,000 That to me seems like Jericho is good as gone that could also be Chris Jericho messing with us and fans that are online like myself but I don't think you're saying those things into a microphone if you are going back to all the wrestling so. 178 00:25:33,000 --> 00:25:51,000 The story here behind the scenes of Chris Jericho and AW's fallout or peaceful amicable goodbye is going to be one that will be very interesting over the years because it's it's like where where is this going. 179 00:25:51,000 --> 00:26:20,000 Why would he say this and how did we get there because he was pro AW for so long as he should be there are multiple interviews out there that when they're when he is asked do you think you will ever go back to w again he says no I don't think I will AW is my home forever I love this place I love everything that they have given me it's so fun it's creative it's this great outlet and in maybe three months time we could be talking about Chris Jericho. 180 00:26:20,000 --> 00:26:49,000 And he could be talking about Chris Jericho entering the role role back in WWE and going for Hall of Fame run and and having a fair wall tour and roll their center table it's I did ultimately think he ends up in WWE at some point but there was a large part of me is time went on just because what Jericho was saying that he had wrestled his last match in WWE but like the only way he goes back is when he hangs up the boots gets a Hall of Fame run maybe gets an opportunity to do some stuff for their digital or I don't know if he would do commentary or answering questions. 181 00:26:49,000 --> 00:27:18,000 Commentary or answering character but it just felt like based off everything that he had said that his in-ring career going to end in all the wrestling and it certainly looks like it's not right now especially even more so now with this comment because that's just odd I mean he doesn't say that it's a AW level crowd he says it's a WWE level crowd and then he compares a TNA level 13 a crowd to AW wrestling and he see W Reena and making it look like TNA looked so much better so maybe there's some things that are behind the scenes businesses 182 00:27:18,000 --> 00:27:35,000 decisions that he just does not agree with or he doesn't want to associate with at this point in his career I have felt like AW was going more to a younger shift away from Chris Jericho and maybe he didn't like that maybe he didn't like how AW handled some certain things during his last year and 183 00:27:35,000 --> 00:27:55,000 after a year run with a company which is certainly possible there definitely seems to be some sour grapes because he acknowledges that WWE and TNA looked to be a better more successful company in the United States than the company that he is currently contracted with in all the wrestling which is odd and I don't think AW should be 184 00:27:55,000 --> 00:28:24,000 bashed whatsoever for going to small arenas I mean this is things that we were calling for like they were just not selling out major arenas even what we saw at the Greensboro Coliseum this past Wednesday I don't know if Greensboro Coliseum has a second level but they are obviously able to fill out the first level I don't know the can how it works out I don't have a right in front of me just in having this like normal free flown conversation but it did appear to me that maybe the second level was tarped off if there is one 185 00:28:24,000 --> 00:28:44,000 for give me for this comment but I felt like the business decision going in small arenas and working the smaller crowds was the right thing to do because I think AW needed reboot they could not continue to go to like the TD Garden and sell out 5,000 anymore they could not go to arthorash anymore and sell out 20,000 they were able to get 7 to 8,000 186 00:28:44,000 --> 00:29:13,000 saving the big crowds for the paper use the PLE's whatever you want to call them was the right move maybe Chris Jericho doesn't think so and to their credit and I love what TNA is doing right now I'm super excited for everything that they're doing I don't watch them on a weekly basis a consistent basis like a do AW but TNA is is doing it's the same business model basically what TNA is doing with the exception being partnered with WEE is that they are working smaller arenas they're working with the same kind of business model 187 00:29:13,000 --> 00:29:42,000 they're working smaller crowds they're doing TV tapings like this is not like AW is not the only company in the United States is doing this TNA is selling out like 11,000 plus arenas on a weekly basis every Thursday for impact that's just not happening so the comment was obviously strange and got the spider census going and it certainly appears to me that Jericho is as good as gone from all the wrestling you don't make a comment like that if you're returning the company at some point you certainly don't 188 00:29:42,000 --> 00:30:03,000 bash them is he honest with the take absolutely certainly honest with the take but for me like when TNA did the crowd that they did for Boundford glory I was like good for them I was I was super excited for them like this is great this is a good thing for professional wrestling I I didn't think respectfully that TNA looked like they were the second biggest company in the world 189 00:30:03,000 --> 00:30:29,000 a pound for lorages based on that crowd especially compared to what everything that all the wrestling is done because AW still does a pretty good job with the crowds for the favor you so very odd comment and I think the flag is certainly up that Chris Jericho is on his way back to the WEE base on everything that he said there he certainly not returning AW based on those comments and if he does again I will leave those words based on what he said into a microphone for his podcast 190 00:30:29,000 --> 00:30:56,000 lastly here an unfortunate anniversary is today and when I saw it just absolutely blew my mind because you know as a wrestling fan and and life in general you have these moments in life that are in grain in your brain forever it's typically surrounds tragedies or major news moments whether it be personal or 191 00:30:56,000 --> 00:31:05,000 worldwide there are these moments in time that you're like I remember exactly where I was what I was doing that day when X happened 192 00:31:05,000 --> 00:31:25,000 and tragically twenty years ago on November 13th 2005 we lost Eddie Carrera I remember being a weekend I believe WWE was on was doing a raw and smackdown taping in Minneapolis Minnesota on a Sunday 193 00:31:25,000 --> 00:31:50,000 and I went on to my computer that morning I went to WWE calm this is before the days of the Twitter obviously in social media and stuff like that you saw to go to the websites to check it out I wasn't any chat rooms or message boards I don't believe at this point I remember going to WWE calm and on their home page they had the big graphic across it that said Eddie Carrera 194 00:31:50,000 --> 00:32:19,000 you know whatever his born date was a year was in 2005 and clicking the news story just complete and complete and utter shock that Eddie Carrera had passed away I had seen him that I think was they were on Thursdays at this point smackdown where he defeated Mr. Kennedy Ken Anderson Ken Kennedy in a match to qualify for a survivor series team I think he had 195 00:32:19,000 --> 00:32:48,000 joined I felt like it was a survivor series match where he was going to be on team Batista or something along those lines it was something to do with survivor series and just being completely floored somewhere in my wrestling tapes and DVDs lies a recording of the initial airing of the raw and smackdown and I believe was on a VHS tape of Eddie Carrera and I watched it 196 00:32:48,000 --> 00:33:08,000 and I'm not going to lie I mean I absolutely cried like a baby that day cried watching those shows it was it was tough I still have the tribute shirt where it's Eddie's face with his born near and 2005 the year that he passed away 197 00:33:08,000 --> 00:33:34,000 I believe it says Viva LaRaza on the back I still have that shirt somewhere in my wrestling shirt collection bought it Eddie Carrera was obviously taken to us from taken from us way too soon there is no question behind that at all I mean he was on the verge he had done some really special things obviously winning the WWE championship 198 00:33:34,000 --> 00:34:00,000 and he had worked he'll for a while have that great few with Ray Mysterio and then he was working this this storyline with Batista and there was discussions about as I'm like thinking about it my head I don't know if he was in line to defeat Batista and turn on Batista they were doing like this buddy stuff where Batista really couldn't trust Eddie but Eddie was starting to get back over as a baby face after this really notorious heel run 199 00:34:00,000 --> 00:34:22,000 he was going to win the World of the World Championship from Batista there's some even more rumors out there that it was going to be penciled in at WrestleMania 22 that year that it was going to be Eddie Carrera taking on Shawn Michaels in a WrestleMania match like that was the plan that was being penciled in that point I don't know if we've ever gotten confirmation I don't know 200 00:34:22,000 --> 00:34:43,000 Bruce Pritchard ever talked about it on his podcast or what have you but those were the things that we saw and yeah it just it felt like he was on the verge of another run as a top main event player in WWE while he was he had the main event run as champion then came down a little bit doing a little bit of the upper mid card 201 00:34:43,000 --> 00:34:57,000 and holding it down with that Rey Mysterio feud and run as a tag team champion as well prior to that teaming with Rey and then feuding with Rey over Dominic oddly enough here we are Dominic dropping the Intercontinental Championship 202 00:34:57,000 --> 00:35:08,000 title that Eddie were synonymous with in the early 2000s this past Monday against John Cena who had a feud with Eddie Carrera at one point so it's like again full circle moments as I talk about this out loud 203 00:35:08,000 --> 00:35:24,000 but even like looking at it and Eddie Carrera was just 38 years old and I'm sitting here at 39 years old and Eddie seemed to be a lot older than that especially when you're that young even when I sit here I'm like oh he's probably like in his early 40s and I sit here today now older than Eddie Carrera 204 00:35:24,000 --> 00:35:37,000 and I haven't lived a full life yet at that age and taking to us before the age of 40 it's just extremely sad it's still amazing today that when somebody does 205 00:35:37,000 --> 00:35:46,000 the three suplexes the three amigos that people still chant Eddie whether it's in WWE TNA or AW people are still chanting Eddie Carrera 206 00:35:46,000 --> 00:35:55,000 I'm so happy that the Dom Mysterio character is a full on homage to Eddie Carrera the frog splash that he does reminds me a lot of Eddie now 207 00:35:55,000 --> 00:36:05,000 when Tom was first doing it was not Eddie like and now it really is I haven't read the article as prior to yet a hero recording the show 208 00:36:05,000 --> 00:36:15,000 but I saw that remisterio wrote an article to Eddie in the athletic that I will probably go read now after this as I remember that he had done that today 209 00:36:15,000 --> 00:36:34,000 it's wild that he's gone it's wild that it's been 20 years that Eddie Carrera has been gone I mean in sane that that is how it is now that he's been gone for 20 years even like saying it out loud is 210 00:36:34,000 --> 00:36:46,000 kind of catches your breath a little bit because again I remember that like it was yesterday I remember that he's seeing the news hearing the news I remember watching raw I remember watching Smackdown the tribute shows 211 00:36:46,000 --> 00:37:00,000 and just being a loss of words of of that moment and losing any Carrera like that it's insane 20 years it's been since we lost Eddie Carrera 212 00:37:00,000 --> 00:37:15,000 and also while that Vicki Carrera his wife had made a really amazing wrestling career for herself prior after Eddie's passing and became an amazing character on the television screen and I just saw 213 00:37:15,000 --> 00:37:26,000 recently that his youngest daughter who was you know I'm kidding hard first grade second grader when he passed away just signed up for Booker T's reality of 214 00:37:26,000 --> 00:37:39,000 wrestling school and it's going to be beginning her wrestling career now as well so rest in peace Eddie Carrera go out of your way find your favorite Eddie Grille match whether it's the match with 215 00:37:39,000 --> 00:37:50,000 Rey Mysterio at Halloween Havoc match with Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 20 his match with Rey Mysterio that open WrestleMania 21 go out of your way and check out on a 216 00:37:50,000 --> 00:38:05,000 Carrera match years ago 217 00:38:05,000 --> 00:38:19,000 because again I just remember it like it was yesterday wrestling piece to one of the all time greats in Eddie Carrera gone way too soon 20 years ago today
