- 0:17Speaker 1: FT live post game show. Let's run this Scotty Braun,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Eric Kratz, Todd Frazier, and a three nothing series lead
- 0:24Speaker 1: for the Milwaukee brewers. They dusted the race and they
- 0:29Speaker 1: brought the crowd to, to Milwaukee. Todd father, what do
- 0:33Speaker 1: you think of this Milwaukee brewers?
- 0:35Speaker 2: 2026 club? Yeah, no. Like I told you guys in
- 0:39Speaker 2: the beginning, it was brewers and four, you know what
- 0:41Speaker 2: I mean? So that's good. Hey, listen, I forgot to
- 0:48Speaker 2: put the notch down. This is too tight. Just wow, man. Honestly,
- 0:55Speaker 2: absolutely incredible. Never doubt Pat Murphy. The guy is so stoic.
- 0:59Speaker 2: He's unbelievable. He pushes all the right buttons. This team
- 1:02Speaker 2: is mashing. Absolutely mashing with one home run in three games.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? And they're winning all three games.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Just so beautiful. Seems like it's effortless. It doesn't matter
- 1:16Speaker 2: who comes in to pitch. Left on left matchup. Ah,
- 1:19Speaker 2: just slapped the ball to left field. These lefties are
- 1:21Speaker 2: doing everything right. And, yeah, it's fun to watch. If
- 1:27Speaker 2: you're not a, you know, if you're watching baseball, you're
- 1:30Speaker 2: seeing 10 to 1, you're like, ah, this is boring. Well,
- 1:32Speaker 2: you got to understand how this team is doing it.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Absolutely amazing. Everybody had an RBI that started to set
- 1:38Speaker 2: one player. I mean, God, you're sitting back as a
- 1:42Speaker 2: manager and as a fan, like, That's my team. It's really,
- 1:45Speaker 2: really nice to see.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Hey, Kratz, before you dive in, we're going to go deep,
- 1:51Speaker 1: deep dive, of course, like we always do on the
- 1:53Speaker 1: FT Live Post Game Show. But I wanted to start
- 1:57Speaker 1: with the way this thing started in Tampa Bay. First off,
- 1:59Speaker 1: there's a lot of go Brewers chants. Some were drowned out,
- 2:03Speaker 1: some were not. And then there was a cool moment
- 2:06Speaker 1: with Joe Maddon out there calling for James Shields. It's
- 2:10Speaker 1: just that James Shields kind of left all of his
- 2:13Speaker 1: pitches out on the field, Kratz. He was known as
- 2:15Speaker 1: a bulldog. And I don't think he had a pitch
- 2:17Speaker 1: left in him after he hung him up. You know
- 2:21Speaker 1: what I'm saying?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Oh, my. James Shields went from complete game James to
- 2:31Speaker 3: big game James to just, when I played with him,
- 2:35Speaker 3: Wago G. It was just Wago G. And now he's just...
- 2:41Speaker 3: It's okay. You know what? Didn't quite get the feel.
- 2:44Speaker 3: He was celebrating with the Rays. It was cool for
- 2:46Speaker 3: them to bring him out. I thought it would have
- 2:48Speaker 3: been Evan Longoria throwing out game one, but it was
- 2:51Speaker 3: cool that Joe Maddon was there. Not a good omen
- 2:56Speaker 3: to start the game off for Rays fans. They were like,
- 2:59Speaker 3: DJ Kitty almost got hit. Like, heads up.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and then, yeah. I think I knew who, I know,
- 3:08Speaker 2: I know who they need to bring in tomorrow to pit,
- 3:10Speaker 2: to be the opening, the opening, the ceremonial first pitch.
- 3:14Speaker 1: 50 cent.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I am. They need a little, they need a little power.
- 3:20Speaker 2: They need somebody that when you look at them and
- 3:23Speaker 2: you've seen them play in a sport, you're like, Oh,
- 3:25Speaker 2: that guy's going to run through a wall. And that's
- 3:27Speaker 2: what the rays need. The a train, Mike Allstott needs
- 3:31Speaker 2: to come in, in the Tampa, my favorite football player
- 3:34Speaker 2: of all time. I, Not even throw the first pitch.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Get the ball. Tuck it. Run the catcher over. That'll
- 3:41Speaker 2: spark them. I know who it is. The A-Train.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Like run William Contreras over so that they try and
- 3:48Speaker 1: take out one of their nine excellent players.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Put the mascot there. And the mascot's just like, when
- 3:53Speaker 2: is he going to throw it? Boom. Knock him down.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I like it.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And I love the All-Star reference there. And yes, I
- 4:00Speaker 1: was going to say, as soon as you said All-Star,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I immediately have him Referenced as Todd father's favorite player.
- 4:06Speaker 1: So that's how much of a clunker this one was,
- 4:10Speaker 1: but Brewers fans are freaking out. They had this sold
- 4:12Speaker 1: out watch party in Milwaukee. They're going nuts and let's
- 4:15Speaker 1: dive into the game. It's a bowl count. Yeah, it's
- 4:25Speaker 1: a full count. It's fueled by marathon. And Kratz, I
- 4:28Speaker 1: liked how towards the end of the game, they were
- 4:30Speaker 1: talking about the Brewers run and how it really started
- 4:33Speaker 1: about 10 years ago. And you were part of some
- 4:35Speaker 1: of that. And this team has made the postseason consistently.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And now they're up three out. They're going to win
- 4:40Speaker 1: the World Series. Let's be real here. The Tampa Bay
- 4:43Speaker 1: Rays aren't about to win four in a row. So
- 4:46Speaker 1: the National League is superior. The Brewers aren't just really
- 4:50Speaker 1: good in the best team in baseball this year. They
- 4:52Speaker 1: are dominating in the late stages here. you said that
- 4:57Speaker 1: the NLCS was the world series and you were wrong.
- 5:01Speaker 1: The NLDS was the world series. I think the Padres
- 5:05Speaker 1: were probably the second best team by the time we
- 5:07Speaker 1: got to October and the birds were able to get
- 5:10Speaker 1: them and they have not looked back. They're just running.
- 5:12Speaker 1: And not every game is a blowout, but they are
- 5:15Speaker 1: just running through opponents. And even when they're down, they
- 5:18Speaker 1: come back, they win one run games and they can
- 5:20Speaker 1: win big. Like they did tonight with the two out
- 5:23Speaker 1: knocks that just kept coming.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I mean, we haven't seen anything like this because how
- 5:29Speaker 3: do you string together seven two-out hits? Like, that's what
- 5:33Speaker 3: they did in that inning. But they just are– they're relentless.
- 5:37Speaker 3: I get it. The games are one-run games and people–
- 5:40Speaker 3: Padre fans will be like, oh, man, we had it. Or,
- 5:43Speaker 3: you know, Mason Miller didn't have this. Or, you know,
- 5:45Speaker 3: that catch and center. I get it. But I also
- 5:49Speaker 3: see this team dominating this whole way through. And I've
- 5:53Speaker 3: talked to countless Brewers players, officials, front office, equipment guys, trainers,
- 6:02Speaker 3: all that stuff, and one of them told me, I
- 6:05Speaker 3: don't think they're going to lose a game this entire postseason.
- 6:08Speaker 3: I was like, bro, there's no way. They've only lost one. Like,
- 6:13Speaker 3: you think about it, they lost one game to the Padres.
- 6:16Speaker 3: That is it. And they've been trailing in all but,
- 6:20Speaker 3: I think, three of them? Like, What they have done
- 6:23Speaker 3: is incredible. And I really think we need a salary cap.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Break this team up. Break them up.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Crazy, man. And they're doing everything right. I said
- 6:35Speaker 2: it before. It just seems like I look back on
- 6:39Speaker 2: this game and it started with one of the older
- 6:44Speaker 2: guys on the team. I mean, Christian Yelich with the
- 6:46Speaker 2: RBI knock. And then it was like, whoa, here we go.
- 6:50Speaker 2: And it wasn't even a hard hit ball. It was
- 6:52Speaker 2: a nice placement. You know, soft line drive to left field.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It got jammed maybe a little bit. But nickel and
- 6:59Speaker 2: dime in Kratzer. You know my favorite word. We're going
- 7:01Speaker 2: to nickel. We're going to dime. We're going to shoot
- 7:03Speaker 2: it out there. Take the extra base. Just absolutely incredible.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I know we can go into detail with every single person.
- 7:11Speaker 2: But it's ultimately a group effort. And the effort is
- 7:15Speaker 2: absolutely out of control in the right way for this
- 7:19Speaker 2: Brewer team.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Todd, do you think this team makes a concerted effort
- 7:25Speaker 3: to hit the ball to the opposite field?
- 7:28Speaker 2: And you know how hard– it's so hard to do, bro.
- 7:31Speaker 2: It really is. I think that's the mindset for sure.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And I think, you know, you see it a lot
- 7:37Speaker 2: in games. It's like, oh, one or two guys, look
- 7:39Speaker 2: at that, always spraying, and then you got the guy.
- 7:41Speaker 2: It's every single person. You know, I think Contreras might
- 7:45Speaker 2: be one of the guys where it's like, man, if
- 7:46Speaker 2: you get one, you know, show him where you live,
- 7:49Speaker 2: even though he can go that way too. But everybody,
- 7:53Speaker 2: go that way. See the ball deeper. And, yeah, it's,
- 7:58Speaker 2: you know, give credit. Who was that, Vogel back in there? Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I mean, listen, dude. Not many people are bringing his
- 8:05Speaker 2: name up. The guy, who would have thought? You know
- 8:09Speaker 2: what I mean? A guy that was, you know, a
- 8:11Speaker 2: pinch hitter for a lot of the parts in his career.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Didn't start all the time. When he did, he was
- 8:17Speaker 2: trying to mash a dude that could go the opposite way.
- 8:21Speaker 2: And he's wearing his hat. He's got his hat to
- 8:23Speaker 2: the side. He's just like, let's go. And he's having
- 8:25Speaker 2: a great time. Give him credit too in that hitting staff. Absolutely.
- 8:30Speaker 2: They deserve a lot of credit.
- 8:32Speaker 3: All-star Daniel Vogelbach. Just so you say his name correct.
- 8:36Speaker 3: All-star Daniel Vogelbach.
- 8:38Speaker 2: He gets one of those. That's right.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Hey, Todd Father, you played third base for a minute
- 8:42Speaker 1: for a while. In the big leagues. So anything Junior
- 8:45Speaker 1: Caminero could have done differently? Because that was it. I mean,
- 8:47Speaker 1: they don't get the out at second base. And then
- 8:50Speaker 1: the Brewers decided to not stop hitting for like 30 minutes.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Yeah. I've said this so many darn times. And you're
- 8:59Speaker 2: seeing here. Look how far back he is. The ball
- 9:02Speaker 2: bounced basically where the runner is right now. Look where
- 9:06Speaker 2: the runner is. The ball bounced around that vicinity. Third
- 9:09Speaker 2: baseman need to play fast. in a certain area. They
- 9:14Speaker 2: play too far back in these scenarios. Especially, I just
- 9:19Speaker 2: don't understand. If you're going to play back, get to
- 9:22Speaker 2: the grass. But for me, as a third baseman, I
- 9:26Speaker 2: like to play up a little bit more and over.
- 9:28Speaker 2: And I think he could have caught that ball in
- 9:30Speaker 2: the air. And if he does catch it in the air,
- 9:32Speaker 2: he could have easily went to any base. And I
- 9:35Speaker 2: think that's the frustrating part. And it was a little nonchalant, Kratz.
- 9:39Speaker 2: got the ball and he thought he definitely had it.
- 9:41Speaker 2: You've got to remember the runner on first base is
- 9:44Speaker 2: going to get a bigger lead because there's a runner
- 9:46Speaker 2: on second. So, you know, you look at that play
- 9:49Speaker 2: there and you see where the runner is, but the
- 9:51Speaker 2: runner's in full sprint. I'm not 100% sure he would
- 9:54Speaker 2: have had the guy first. Would he have? Maybe, maybe not.
- 9:57Speaker 2: You got to make a really great throw. There's a
- 9:59Speaker 2: lot of things that went on there. You have to
- 10:01Speaker 2: understand and know the scenario and know what's going on
- 10:04Speaker 2: and who's running where, right, Kratz?
- 10:07Speaker 3: You, 100%, and you talk about it before, and I
- 10:10Speaker 3: got to explain what you're saying. You're saying play a
- 10:14Speaker 3: little bit more shallow so that you can attack that
- 10:17Speaker 3: ball differently, correct?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Correct. But if not, why aren't you playing closer to
- 10:24Speaker 2: the grass? If you're going to be in the mid-angle,
- 10:27Speaker 2: why not even go further back? So you can dive
- 10:30Speaker 2: for a ball. I just don't get it. You can't
- 10:33Speaker 2: be in between. You know, it is what it is.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I've just seen a tweet for Tommy Pham. It says
- 10:41Speaker 2: Caminero throws the first inning over. Most likely right. But again,
- 10:46Speaker 2: the mindset. The mindset's got to be there. If I
- 10:48Speaker 2: go in the hole... Any which way, if I've got
- 10:50Speaker 2: to take two steps or more, I'm knowing that runner
- 10:54Speaker 2: is fast enough to get to second base. And the
- 10:57Speaker 2: ball that was hit, that was by Contreras, right, if
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm not mistaken? Yep. Okay, so you have a slower runner. Yes,
- 11:04Speaker 2: I get it. You make a full 180, make the turn,
- 11:07Speaker 2: and launch it to first base, and you get him
- 11:09Speaker 2: by a step or two, 100%. But you can't be
- 11:12Speaker 2: in between on defense. You can't go 75% from the
- 11:16Speaker 2: grass to the dirt to the grass. You either go
- 11:19Speaker 2: way back or you move your butt in so you
- 11:21Speaker 2: can cut off that second hop. He made a fantastic play.
- 11:25Speaker 2: But the throw wasn't it. It was too late. Well said. Yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 2: well said.
- 11:35Speaker 1: And then after that, I mean, just knock after knock
- 11:37Speaker 1: after knock after knock. That was Contreras, by the way, right?
- 11:41Speaker 1: Then they bring in Boozer. Didn't have it. he was
- 11:44Speaker 1: good for them and he was good at holding runners
- 11:46Speaker 1: for them, both in the regular season and then crats
- 11:49Speaker 1: in the playoffs before this appearance tonight, Oh, for nine
- 11:52Speaker 1: runners in scoring position against him. They were talking about
- 11:55Speaker 1: the tough delivery that, that, you know, he has to
- 11:58Speaker 1: look at for especially left-handed hitters. And Bryce Strang's like, no,
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'm good. Two strike, two out, two run single up
- 12:04Speaker 1: the middle, just past Taylor walls, a couple of plays
- 12:06Speaker 1: kind of getting past Taylor walls. Not that that one
- 12:09Speaker 1: was his fault. It was hit pretty hard. And all
- 12:11Speaker 1: of a sudden it's four, nothing. And then, I mean,
- 12:15Speaker 1: It got stupid. It got to the point where there's
- 12:17Speaker 1: so many people in the chat right now saying boring
- 12:19Speaker 1: World Series. Okay. The first two games were freaking awesome.
- 12:22Speaker 1: This was a blowout.
- 12:23Speaker 3: You're right.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Halfway through this game, completely over. And all of a
- 12:27Speaker 1: sudden it turns from, oh, this Brewers team, they can
- 12:28Speaker 1: win close games too. Oh, maybe they are significantly better
- 12:32Speaker 1: than the Rays and the National League is much better
- 12:34Speaker 1: than the American League and all of that.
- 12:38Speaker 3: The Rays almost lost to the Guardians.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 3: The Rays were almost down 3-0 to the Guardians if
- 12:45Speaker 3: Jose Ramirez didn't make an error. Like, there's a difference
- 12:49Speaker 3: in these.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Two.
- 12:52Speaker 2: 3-1, right?
- 12:52Speaker 1: That would have been 3-1, I think.
- 12:54Speaker 3: It would have been 3-0. They won the first game.
- 12:57Speaker 3: He makes the error in the second game. The Rays
- 12:59Speaker 3: end up winning the game 3-1. Then they lose the
- 13:03Speaker 3: first game in Cleveland. They would have been down 3-0.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Can I say something about to rang that up, Batman?
- 13:11Speaker 2: He spit on two sliders or sweepers, whatever you call them,
- 13:14Speaker 2: and it looked like he was there the whole time,
- 13:17Speaker 2: just eh, eh. So guess what he does as a
- 13:20Speaker 2: professional hitter? Cratchit, what do you do? I'm waiting for
- 13:22Speaker 2: the fastball, okay? If you're not going to throw a
- 13:25Speaker 2: first strike, and if you end up throwing one first strike,
- 13:27Speaker 2: I might tip my cap and move on. And he
- 13:29Speaker 2: got a fastball center cut. His timing was perfect. I
- 13:33Speaker 2: go back to those two slider sweepers that he threw
- 13:35Speaker 2: that he looked at, and he didn't even flinch, really.
- 13:38Speaker 2: So for me... It's an effort. It's a homework. And
- 13:45Speaker 2: it's just a lovely way. If you're a hitter and
- 13:49Speaker 2: you're not a strong hitter that hits for power, please
- 13:53Speaker 2: take a look at these Milwaukee Brewers guys hitting baseballs.
- 13:57Speaker 2: It's fantastic. It's the way the game should be played.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And yeah, it was boring. It was 10 to 1.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Just like a blowout in any other sport. It happens.
- 14:08Speaker 2: But the way they won... And how they won in
- 14:10Speaker 2: that big inning, holy cow. That should be documented and
- 14:14Speaker 2: shown over and over like Tom Amansky films back to
- 14:17Speaker 2: back to back. Yeah.
- 14:19Speaker 1: You know, it was funny, Kratz. The inning before that,
- 14:23Speaker 1: Freddy Peralta had his best inning. And he like blazed
- 14:26Speaker 1: through what? I think at least two strikeouts. That was
- 14:29Speaker 1: his best stuff. Kevin Cash was interviewed during that inning
- 14:31Speaker 1: and said he felt like he was a little over
- 14:33Speaker 1: amped up until that fourth. But then in the fifth,
- 14:35Speaker 1: they do their usual Brewers grind. And they get him
- 14:38Speaker 1: knocked out in the fifth. They crack open the Rays' bullpen,
- 14:42Speaker 1: which has not been good. That's the biggest glaring difference
- 14:45Speaker 1: between these two teams. There are many differences, but the
- 14:47Speaker 1: biggest one is the bullpen here. The Rays' bullpen was
- 14:49Speaker 1: pretty good during the year. The Brewers' bullpen is the
- 14:51Speaker 1: best in baseball and maybe one of the best we've
- 14:53Speaker 1: seen all time because of how much depth it has.
- 14:56Speaker 1: And we see it pop up here again where Boozer
- 14:59Speaker 1: and company can't get the job done. Seymour's had problems.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I still think Griffin Jacks should have been utilized differently
- 15:05Speaker 1: in this series and even maybe Freddie Peay. where you
- 15:07Speaker 1: had to get crafty and try and use your starters.
- 15:09Speaker 1: But it doesn't matter at this point. It's 3-0. I'm transitioning.
- 15:13Speaker 1: On the other side, maybe not enough attention because of
- 15:17Speaker 1: the final score. Bobby Gass. Robert Gasser. Three starts on
- 15:22Speaker 1: the road, shoving.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Wow.
- 15:23Speaker 1: He's been their best starting pitcher.
- 15:25Speaker 3: For a Brewers organization who couldn't win on the road.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Last time the Brewers won was back in 2018 in
- 15:32Speaker 3: the road. Like, he turned that around. He gave this team...
- 15:36Speaker 3: What most teams, when you're facing the number three guy
- 15:39Speaker 3: after you go, you know, after you go Mizorowski and
- 15:44Speaker 3: then you go Henderson, number three guy, if he could
- 15:48Speaker 3: just give us a little, you know, two times through
- 15:51Speaker 3: the order. He had no, he had one batter on
- 15:54Speaker 3: in the first, in his first inning and one batter
- 15:58Speaker 3: on in his second inning. I mean, in his last inning. Like,
- 16:02Speaker 3: and then he erases him with a double play. Like
- 16:04Speaker 3: what he was giving them. And it's a different look
- 16:07Speaker 3: than what anybody else is throwing, that they're throwing out
- 16:10Speaker 3: there from their bullpen to their first starters. It is incredible.
- 16:14Speaker 3: And it's going to go completely unnoticed because he has
- 16:18Speaker 3: done so well, but so has everybody.
- 16:21Speaker 2: All day. Dude, 15 innings, one run, one earned run.
- 16:26Speaker 2: What are we doing here? What are we doing here?
- 16:29Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? And he is easy going. This
- 16:33Speaker 2: man is just taking a ride down Sunset Boulevard, dude.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Just easy going with that 92, 93 little stanky stank. Awesome. Awesome.
- 16:45Speaker 2: That's it.
- 16:45Speaker 3: The sink. What Todd said was the stanky stank. It's
- 16:48Speaker 3: a sinker. He ran his sinker up to 95. Who
- 16:52Speaker 3: else on this team is running a ton of sinkers
- 16:54Speaker 3: from the left side? Robert Gasser. But Robert Gasser is
- 16:58Speaker 3: doing it from over top. Then you're going Trevor McGill
- 17:01Speaker 3: over top. You're going Miz. He's putting the ball right
- 17:04Speaker 3: in the mitt. Like it's just, it's a different look
- 17:07Speaker 3: for this team. And it is, that is where their
- 17:11Speaker 3: success lies because each guy can be who they are.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Amen. Hey, you know how we talk about X factors
- 17:20Speaker 1: or impact guys, guys you wouldn't think are going to
- 17:23Speaker 1: be the big thing. I mean, Gasser's the guy, right?
- 17:25Speaker 1: Like remember we did that one segment where we're talking
- 17:27Speaker 1: about who's going to come up big and, and the
- 17:30Speaker 1: writers talking about Churio, guys that you expected to be good,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and Churio's been awesome. Gasser is the guy. Maybe you
- 17:37Speaker 1: can make a case for Ashby because he didn't get
- 17:40Speaker 1: the same attention during the year. He's not their closer
- 17:42Speaker 1: and all that. He's the guy for the bullpen. But
- 17:44Speaker 1: the starter, I mean, the guy. If you were like,
- 17:46Speaker 1: who's the X factor for the Brewers in the playoffs?
- 17:48Speaker 1: I think it's got to be Gasser. The guy that
- 17:50Speaker 1: you think can swing a series, swing their dominance, and
- 17:53Speaker 1: also not a guy that you necessarily expect it to be.
- 17:57Speaker 1: their best starting pitcher. They have the NL Cy Young
- 17:59Speaker 1: and he's been their best starting pitcher in the playoffs
- 18:02Speaker 1: for his few starts. So props to Bobby Gasser, Robert Gasser.
- 18:06Speaker 1: That's full count. We want to keep going here. It's
- 18:08Speaker 1: fueled by marathon where fun runs on full save up
- 18:10Speaker 1: to $ 1 a gallon with marathon rewards. And we have
- 18:14Speaker 1: more to go here on the post game show. Just
- 18:17Speaker 1: encouraging you all that are watching. Just do one thing
- 18:19Speaker 1: for me. Press subscribe on the foul territory page. It's
- 18:23Speaker 1: right in front of you right now. Maybe you'll like to,
- 18:25Speaker 1: if you're feeling frisky tonight. Thank you.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 18:27Speaker 1: All right, let's hit All Smiles. All Smiles is presented
- 18:38Speaker 1: by Lorraine Co. What do you have for your former teammate?
- 18:40Speaker 1: Brandon Woodruff. Grats, he got in a game and he
- 18:43Speaker 1: ate up an inning for them.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Massive. I mean, I don't know that anybody needs to
- 18:48Speaker 3: eat up innings. Just a tremendous, obviously a tremendous person.
- 18:53Speaker 3: But this entire team saw this guy rehabbing. with the
- 18:57Speaker 3: team the whole time and not one person can have
- 19:02Speaker 3: an impact on every single person but to a man
- 19:06Speaker 3: you talk to any one of these pitchers that are
- 19:08Speaker 3: on this team and they were saying to see him
- 19:11Speaker 3: go through what he's gone through not just this year
- 19:15Speaker 3: But other years with most likely career ending, and then
- 19:18Speaker 3: getting a qualifying offer, and then missing the playoffs last year,
- 19:22Speaker 3: and then coming back this year, all that he's been
- 19:24Speaker 3: through to be able to get into this game and
- 19:26Speaker 3: throw an inning means more, probably more to his teammates
- 19:31Speaker 3: than it does to Big Wu, knowing Big Wu. I
- 19:34Speaker 3: know he's happy about it, but Big Wu would have
- 19:36Speaker 3: been happy had he never pitched in any of the games.
- 19:38Speaker 3: I know that.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Pretty cool, man. Pretty cool.
- 19:43Speaker 1: And the reason, Todd, I said eats up an inning,
- 19:45Speaker 1: He was adamant about not being a token addition to
- 19:49Speaker 1: the roster. So he gets to, you know, I mean,
- 19:53Speaker 1: is it a big deal? No, it's a blowout game,
- 19:55Speaker 1: but gets to eat an inning that someone.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Else didn't have to do. It is a big deal.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I think it's a big deal, especially for him. And
- 20:03Speaker 2: I think the organization, knowing like, I think Murphy's sitting
- 20:07Speaker 2: there like, man, what am I? I can't do anything wrong.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I'm getting this guy in at the perfect scenario. Even
- 20:14Speaker 2: if he gives up five, six runs, they're still up four.
- 20:18Speaker 2: You know what I mean? So it's like, let him
- 20:19Speaker 2: go out there and succeed and fail and do all that.
- 20:22Speaker 2: And they did wonderful. Yeah.
- 20:24Speaker 1: And the guys that have been there the longest are
- 20:26Speaker 1: Woodruff and Yelich, right? Kratz, am I missing anyone? I mean,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I know there's some others that have been there for
- 20:30Speaker 1: a bit. Ashby actually has been in the org for
- 20:33Speaker 1: a while, but Woodruff and Yelich, the longest, right? For
- 20:36Speaker 1: pitcher and position player.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not even close. I don't think anybody else
- 20:41Speaker 3: was there. Now, Terang was in the organization in 18.
- 20:45Speaker 3: He was drafted in 18, came to spring training in 19. But, like,
- 20:49Speaker 3: you talk about, like, Gasser coming over in the hater trade.
- 20:53Speaker 3: But it's not. I think it's Ashby's third. And then
- 21:00Speaker 3: I'm not sure who it is. But it's a lot
- 21:01Speaker 3: of guys in the 2000s. So they're the last ones
- 21:05Speaker 3: before the 2020s.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 21:10Speaker 1: So, I mean, a perfect day for the Brewers and
- 21:14Speaker 1: a day where it wasn't a nail-biter. Brewers fans have
- 21:18Speaker 1: enjoyed this postseason run so far, and they're one win
- 21:20Speaker 1: away from their first ever World Series title, but there
- 21:23Speaker 1: have been some tight battles. This was not one of them.
- 21:29Speaker 1: It was contagious. And you don't need homers to win
- 21:32Speaker 1: a World Series either. You don't need to bash dingers
- 21:35Speaker 1: all day long. Toddfather, forget what they told you, that
- 21:39Speaker 1: homers are good, bunts are bad, small ball sucks, contact's
- 21:43Speaker 1: not good, all of that. You don't need to hit
- 21:46Speaker 1: five homers a day to be a World Series dominant
- 21:50Speaker 1: baseball team.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah, man, look at Jackson Churrio, this guy, oh my God. Absolutely, man.
- 21:59Speaker 2: When I say something and Kratzy has like a, oh God,
- 22:01Speaker 2: or golly, it makes me feel good knowing that He
- 22:05Speaker 2: agrees with me because it's absolutely unbelievable what kind of
- 22:09Speaker 2: run this guy is on, the straw that stirs the drink,
- 22:12Speaker 2: the dude that starts it up top. Listen, kudos to him.
- 22:17Speaker 2: He's coming to the league. People talked about him being
- 22:20Speaker 2: the next this and that, kind of settled a little bit,
- 22:23Speaker 2: and now look at him coming on strong, just doing
- 22:26Speaker 2: what he does best, getting on base, scoring runs, driving
- 22:29Speaker 2: the ball and hitting the ball hard, finding holes, all
- 22:32Speaker 2: that good stuff. And when he goes, they go, it
- 22:34Speaker 2: seems like, in this hitting lineup. So they are all smiles.
- 22:38Speaker 2: I bet they are on the bus right now driving back, like,
- 22:41Speaker 2: all giddy and yippity-yappity. Like, hey, all right, all right,
- 22:45Speaker 2: be under control, though. We still got to win one.
- 22:47Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like, you can hear there'll
- 22:49Speaker 2: be some nervous energy tomorrow. But this guy has been
- 22:52Speaker 2: absolutely great. Kratzy, you can groan and moan all you
- 22:55Speaker 2: want because you know I'm right and I know you're right.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Three straight multi-hit games to start the World Series. That's it.
- 23:05Speaker 3: It's incredible.
- 23:07Speaker 2: It is.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Can I ask you guys, actually? I know we have
- 23:11Speaker 1: one game left. Well, we could have more than one
- 23:15Speaker 1: game left. One win left for the Brewers, okay? They're
- 23:17Speaker 1: going to win the World Series. Could it take five? Maybe,
- 23:20Speaker 1: but most likely four. Do you think Jackson Churio or
- 23:24Speaker 1: William Contreras is MVP? Or Ashby, I guess. I mean,
- 23:29Speaker 1: he didn't factor into this third game, but who's MVP?
- 23:32Speaker 1: Of the World Series right now through three games.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I need all the numbers. I need all. If I'm gone.
- 23:39Speaker 3: You watch.
- 23:39Speaker 2: You watch.
- 23:40Speaker 3: You watch the game, Todd.
- 23:41Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:42Speaker 3: You know who. Don't look at the numbers. Don't be
- 23:44Speaker 3: an analytic guy.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Listen, I'm all about the eye test. But, I mean,
- 23:51Speaker 2: this is World Series only, right? We can't just.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yeah, just who's going to win World Series MVP? I mean,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I know there's still, you know, another game or two
- 23:59Speaker 1: that's going to matter. But who is going to be
- 24:01Speaker 1: the World Series MVP? There's two guys that are really
- 24:04Speaker 1: the candidates here. I mean, Contreras and Churio have been
- 24:07Speaker 1: doing it. So, does Contreras get an edge for handling
- 24:10Speaker 1: the pitching staff and also being basically an umpire behind
- 24:12Speaker 1: the plate with the ABS challenges?
- 24:15Speaker 2: I know who Cressy's going to pick because he's a homer.
- 24:17Speaker 2: I'm going by an armpit hair, and I got very
- 24:20Speaker 2: thick armpit hair. I'm going Churio by an armpit hair, okay?
- 24:25Speaker 3: It's not even close. I don't even think Churio is second.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I think Ashley's second. I think Ashby's second, and I
- 24:34Speaker 3: think Contreras wins it. I think what he has done
- 24:37Speaker 3: behind the dish, if you just go back to the
- 24:40Speaker 3: first two games in the ninth inning, the balls he blocked,
- 24:43Speaker 3: he blocked six balls in the dirt in the ninth
- 24:46Speaker 3: inning alone. Sorry. Like, the catchers, we'll probably talk about tomorrow. A.J.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Pruszynski's finest crowning moment was the fact that his pitching
- 24:58Speaker 3: staff did what they did in that World Series run.
- 25:02Speaker 3: four starting pitchers throwing four complete games, not in the
- 25:05Speaker 3: world series in the American league championship, like a shutout
- 25:09Speaker 3: in game four to close it out. Like those are
- 25:12Speaker 3: the things. If Contreras doesn't win this, it's because Churio
- 25:16Speaker 3: has another four hit game or Ashby doesn't come out
- 25:21Speaker 3: and throw three innings tomorrow to, to slam the door here. Contreras,
- 25:26Speaker 3: I think has it right.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Now, man. What a pickup for them. William Contreras. That
- 25:31Speaker 1: was also a, eventually a part of the hater trade
- 25:36Speaker 1: that was the secondary portion of it where they what
- 25:39Speaker 1: what was that the estuary ruiz part of it right where.
- 25:42Speaker 3: They dealt away three team trade manny pina went to
- 25:46Speaker 3: the a's estuary ruiz went there sean murphy went to
- 25:51Speaker 3: the brakes got it that worked out a lot of
- 25:53Speaker 3: catchers in one trade odd oh yeah odd odd odd.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Well the musical chairs worked well for The Brewers, they
- 26:01Speaker 1: nailed it. They have had some incredible pickups, and they
- 26:04Speaker 1: are one win away from a World Series title. They
- 26:06Speaker 1: are truly all smiles. Presented by Lorraine Co. Thanks for
- 26:11Speaker 1: hooking us up with a little help in the postgame show.

- 26:44Speaker 1: the God Freelick. We've got the famous words in Milwaukee
- 26:49Speaker 1: right now with a famous song that we know all about, Contreras, Churrio, Terangue.
- 26:54Speaker 1: bowers you name it we've got them they're player licensed
- 26:58Speaker 1: gear all over the place at foul territory shop.com we
- 27:02Speaker 1: appreciate your brewers fans and guess what also milwaukee you
- 27:06Speaker 1: didn't need terry scoogle so my bad on that one
- 27:09Speaker 1: i mean i think it would have been unfair honestly
- 27:11Speaker 1: if anything i mean i think we should have a
- 27:14Speaker 1: a cap on how many um members of their international
- 27:17Speaker 1: scouting staff they can have because jack centurio Well, Reese Lara,
- 27:21Speaker 1: I think is going to be a star and he's
- 27:22Speaker 1: barely even playing so far in the series. He got
- 27:24Speaker 1: in for one AB at the end of this one.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I mean, the future is bright for this team and
- 27:29Speaker 1: they make the playoffs every year. Now they figured out
- 27:31Speaker 1: how to get over the hump.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Damn.
- 27:33Speaker 1: What a run so far for this team. I know
- 27:35Speaker 1: it's not over, but look up how three Oh goes
- 27:38Speaker 1: just wipe out 2004 in a CS. And aside from that,
- 27:42Speaker 1: it's basically it's toast. The rays are not winning four
- 27:45Speaker 1: games in a row against the bears. I'm sorry. Not,
- 27:48Speaker 1: not even close. I mean, Do we think it's done
- 27:51Speaker 1: on our way out here? Do we think it's done?
- 27:53Speaker 1: It's obviously done. Do we think it's done after four?
- 27:56Speaker 1: Do we think this is a sweep with the bullpen
- 27:58Speaker 1: day and everybody rested up for game four? Or do
- 28:01Speaker 1: you think maybe they sneak one out and then.
- 28:04Speaker 3: I think it's done. I think cash. I think anything happens.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Cash goes right to the bullpen standard game four. He's
- 28:12Speaker 3: going to go right to the bullpen and it's, I
- 28:14Speaker 3: think it'd be low scoring early. But as soon as
- 28:16Speaker 3: those bullpen doors open or whatever the heck, as soon
- 28:19Speaker 3: as they get off the bench, there's no doors to
- 28:21Speaker 3: the trap bullpen. But over. Book it.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Done, Todd? I'm hoping they get one. I think they'll
- 28:32Speaker 2: get one tomorrow. Oh, me too.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it'd be fun to keep playing baseball. The sport
- 28:38Speaker 1: is going to shut down for a while.
- 28:39Speaker 2: You got to look yourself in the mirror and say,
- 28:42Speaker 2: you know what? Enough's enough. We got to play. And
- 28:44Speaker 2: it's not going to be pretty. But find a way
- 28:47Speaker 2: to win on some kind of crazy play or something
- 28:50Speaker 2: to get a little momentum back for sure.
- 28:53Speaker 1: The Milwaukee Brewers are in, this is a fact, this
- 28:55Speaker 1: isn't like we're making, they're in the smallest TV market.
- 28:58Speaker 1: They're just ransacking the rest of baseball right now. They
- 29:02Speaker 1: are just running circles around the sport in October. They
- 29:05Speaker 1: look dominant as hell. One of the most dominant runs
- 29:08Speaker 1: we've seen. If they finish this, they'll have one postseason loss.
- 29:13Speaker 1: There were what, two other teams that had a postseason loss?
- 29:16Speaker 2: Right?
- 29:16Speaker 1: Oh five white talks for AJ. And I think there
- 29:18Speaker 1: was one other team. And I think there's only been
- 29:20Speaker 1: one team that's done a sweep in the CS and
- 29:22Speaker 1: the world series. And I think they mentioned it on
- 29:25Speaker 1: the Fox broadcast today. I think it was the big
- 29:28Speaker 1: red machine. What was it? 79. But they said one
- 29:30Speaker 1: of those was a five gamer. So this is uncharted
- 29:34Speaker 1: territory that we're seeing from Milwaukee in terms of how
- 29:38Speaker 1: they are just beating the crap out of teams with
- 29:41Speaker 1: the Dodgers and then here with the Rays. So FT,
- 29:45Speaker 1: back at it every day, all year long. That includes
- 29:48Speaker 1: all offseason, all lockout. But let's finish up the World
- 29:52Speaker 1: Series strong with postgame shows. So we'll be on 1-3
- 29:54Speaker 1: Eastern on Tuesday, And then after game four, another postgame
- 30:01Speaker 1: show for you. This was fun. Hope you enjoyed it.
- 30:04Speaker 1: The postgame show. If you're a Rays fan, you did
- 30:06Speaker 1: not enjoy your evening, but they did get to host
- 30:08Speaker 1: a World Series game. There's another one. Krasinski and Kratz
- 30:13Speaker 1: will be on with me tomorrow. Kenny Ballgame Rosenthal will
- 30:16Speaker 1: join us. We'll tell you the other guests like we
- 30:18Speaker 1: do on social media on Tuesday. Get some sleep, everyone.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Maybe only one more baseball game left for a while.
