- 0:04Speaker 1: Good morning family, Good morning God, bless you. Welcome back
- 0:06Speaker 1: to the Morning Devo. Is your brother Sam Lopez aka
- 0:09Speaker 1: DJ Sam Rock? So when is with a Z that
- 0:12Speaker 1: RG celebradio network that LEH have Valley's number one urban
- 0:16Speaker 1: gospel music station online since two thousand and eight, and
- 0:19Speaker 1: we're still here.
- 0:20Speaker 2: All glory to God.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Defend yourself, Defend yourself on today's Morning Devo. I'm gonna
- 0:27Speaker 1: explain that a man, you might be thinking some other things.
- 0:31Speaker 1: It's like I thought some other things when God first
- 0:33Speaker 1: gave me this title. Defend yourself on the Morning Devo,
- 0:36Speaker 1: We're gonna be talking about how to defend ourselves as
- 0:41Speaker 1: believers in Christ. How should we be defending ourselves? Why
- 0:45Speaker 1: defend yourself?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Right?
- 0:49Speaker 1: People think that Christianity is some kind of a soft
- 0:53Speaker 1: approach to living life. Right, an approach to living life
- 0:58Speaker 1: that is not relevant, that's not valuable, that's not.
- 1:05Speaker 2: How you call it. It's not effective.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Right to live a Christian life or make believe a
- 1:14Speaker 1: lot of people have different ideas about a Christian life. Amen,
- 1:17Speaker 1: But the Word of God explains what Christianity or what
- 1:21Speaker 1: a christ follower is or how a christ Follower should
- 1:26Speaker 1: be living or how it should be activating our faith, love,
- 1:30Speaker 1: hope and Christ. Defend yourself only when facing bodily harm
- 1:36Speaker 1: or if your life is in danger, And last time
- 1:40Speaker 1: I checked, pretty much every.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Day my life is in danger.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I don't know about you, how you feel about that,
- 1:47Speaker 1: But there's a lot of things going on in the
- 1:49Speaker 1: world system and the world out there. When I step
- 1:52Speaker 1: outside of my protected environment, I should say, right, being
- 1:58Speaker 1: unprotected in the world full of all kinds of things
- 2:01Speaker 1: and all kinds of people, and.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Man, I have my guard up. I'm defending myself.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I know for sure that Holy Spirit of God is
- 2:09Speaker 1: defending his children. I know for sure that we have
- 2:13Speaker 1: an angel assigned to us daily, Baba says, the Angel
- 2:19Speaker 1: of the Lord and camps around those.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Who love God. Love the Lord.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Amen, And God knows my love for him. So I
- 2:28Speaker 1: have that angel assigned to me.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So do you.
- 2:30Speaker 1: If you love God, you have an Angel of the
- 2:32Speaker 1: Lord assigned to you as well. Two Timothy, chapter number two,
- 2:35Speaker 1: verses three and four. That's where we're gonna be at today.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Amen.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Good morning, sister Joanne, I see you. Good morning, God
- 2:41Speaker 1: bless you. Welcome back to the morning.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Devo.
- 2:43Speaker 1: It's good to see my sister, my friend. Defend yourself
- 2:45Speaker 1: today in the morning devo. If you have any questions, comments, concerns,
- 2:50Speaker 1: or any prayer requests, don't hesitate to leave it on
- 2:52Speaker 1: a live chat.
- 2:53Speaker 2: That's what we're here for. We're not here to debate.
- 2:56Speaker 1: We're not here to promote any particular system or a
- 3:01Speaker 1: political party or church or anything like that. We're here
- 3:04Speaker 1: to discover what the Word of God has for you
- 3:06Speaker 1: and what the Word of God has for me today,
- 3:08Speaker 1: right now, in real time.
- 3:10Speaker 2: How about that? Is that fair enough? Amen?
- 3:12Speaker 1: Does that sound like I'm swaying on any any side
- 3:16Speaker 1: of the political fence, amen, even though yeah, I chose
- 3:19Speaker 1: the side, you chose the side. To a lot of
- 3:21Speaker 1: people I'm meeting as I'm knocking on doors for this
- 3:25Speaker 1: like last week before the election, just upset and they said,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I'm not voting, I'm not getting involved. Some people actually
- 3:34Speaker 1: told me in my face, I don't believe in the government.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And they're here though, but that they don't believe in
- 3:39Speaker 1: the government government that they're living under or in. So
- 3:43Speaker 1: a lot of people are defending themselves that way, making
- 3:47Speaker 1: a statement saying I'm not doing anything, which to me
- 3:50Speaker 1: doesn't make any sense. But I have to respect their decision.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I have to respect their protests after respect their position.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Amen.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And that's the way they defend themselves as believers. We're
- 4:00Speaker 1: defending ourselves differently, Amen, during these perulous times. Like Jesus said,
- 4:06Speaker 1: we're facing right now perlous times.
- 4:09Speaker 2: So we'll pray first.
- 4:10Speaker 1: After we pray, we'll share us out for like sixty
- 4:12Speaker 1: seconds to as many people that come to our heart
- 4:14Speaker 1: and mind during that sixty seconds.
- 4:16Speaker 2: You can share this out anytime during the live after
- 4:20Speaker 2: the live a week from now.
- 4:21Speaker 1: If somebody pops on in your heart and you might
- 4:24Speaker 1: think that this might benefit them, go ahead and share
- 4:28Speaker 1: with them.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Amen.
- 4:29Speaker 1: As we move forward during this year. So, Father God,
- 4:33Speaker 1: thank you lot Gud that you are an ultimate defender.
- 4:36Speaker 1: You are a lover of our soul.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Amen, you are our.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Protector, our fortress, are mighty fortress. You are there in
- 4:43Speaker 1: a time of need and the time of help. Thank
- 4:45Speaker 1: you Lo God for guiding us. Thank you lot God
- 4:47Speaker 1: for guarding us and protecting us and setting forth your
- 4:50Speaker 1: arkwen angels the host of heaven to really prepare us
- 4:55Speaker 1: the way to go and making a clear path out
- 4:59Speaker 1: of chaos and out of quikenness and destruction and corruption,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and you are making a way for us to live
- 5:05Speaker 1: life in abundance. Thank you, Lord God for every single
- 5:09Speaker 1: day that we take breaths on this earth, that we
- 5:12Speaker 1: are safe. That you give us health to our body
- 5:14Speaker 1: and strength to our bones, and do the same for
- 5:16Speaker 1: our families, our children, our relatives, our friends, and even
- 5:20Speaker 1: our enemies. Love God, I pray for them too, as you,
- 5:22Speaker 1: Love God, will show up in their lives and their hearts,
- 5:25Speaker 1: just like you've showed up in my heart in my
- 5:27Speaker 1: life so many years ago, and you're still transforming my life.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I pray to transformational power over every single person who
- 5:34Speaker 1: is looking for truth, looking for love, looking for protection,
- 5:37Speaker 1: looking for guidance. I pray, Lord God, that you will
- 5:39Speaker 1: be the light to shine through the path that we
- 5:42Speaker 1: need to go through. That you will be a lamp
- 5:44Speaker 1: to our feet and a light to our path, like
- 5:45Speaker 1: your word says. I praise you, Low God, because you
- 5:48Speaker 1: are holy worthy, and you are trustworthy, and you are righteous, loving,
- 5:52Speaker 1: and you are just. You are the just God of
- 5:55Speaker 1: heaven and earth. I thank you, Lord God for today.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Thank you, Love God for speaking through me by way
- 5:59Speaker 1: of home Holy Spirit, and speaking through all my brothers
- 6:01Speaker 1: and sisters by way of Holy Spirit, that you would
- 6:04Speaker 1: do the same for them, Lord God, that you would
- 6:06Speaker 1: guide God and protect them, give them health to their body,
- 6:08Speaker 1: strength to the bones, as you have done for me
- 6:09Speaker 1: and my family. I pray that over every single family
- 6:12Speaker 1: represented on the other side of this mic and on
- 6:15Speaker 1: the other side of the screen, and a powerful name
- 6:17Speaker 1: of Jesus. And we all say, Amen and Amen, come
- 6:20Speaker 1: into agreement with the prayer. We come into agreement with
- 6:23Speaker 1: God's word. We're going to defend ourselves according to how
- 6:25Speaker 1: the scriptures asks us to defend ourselves. Good morning, Sister
- 6:29Speaker 1: joy Us, Good morning, God bless you. Welcome back to
- 6:31Speaker 1: the morning devo. Amen and Amen, you're very welcome for
- 6:34Speaker 1: the prayer. We're gonna go ahead and we're going to
- 6:36Speaker 1: share this south for like sixty seconds when we come back.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Our scripture for today is tewod Timothy, chapter number two,
- 6:43Speaker 1: verses three and four will start there.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And we'll go from there. Amen.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Amen, And Sister Joanne says thank you for the prayer,
- 6:49Speaker 1: saying God bless you and your family as well as
- 6:52Speaker 1: well to you.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Amen.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I'll be right back, right or right, let's go. Let's
- 8:26Speaker 1: go for it. Amen. It looks like the website is
- 8:29Speaker 1: up and running as well as we I'm trying to
- 8:32Speaker 1: experiment thing with this a trial of an app I've
- 8:36Speaker 1: been asking for a while. Did anybody know of an
- 8:39Speaker 1: app that as soon as you go live, it'll go
- 8:41Speaker 1: through your website and other channels at the same time,
- 8:44Speaker 1: so that way I won't have to be concerned with
- 8:47Speaker 1: the website as well. But it looks like it's.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Working a man.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Also, if you know of an app that shares to
- 8:53Speaker 1: your groups on social media all in one shot, let
- 8:57Speaker 1: me know if you find one of those. Thank you
- 8:59Speaker 1: everybody who's searching and helping me out in those areas.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm really grateful for that as well.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Amen.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah, So, Sister Joyce says, good morning to everybody, to everyone,
- 9:10Speaker 1: my brothers and sisters.
- 9:12Speaker 2: This is the day our Lord.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Has made and blessed us, So let us rejoice and
- 9:16Speaker 1: praise him. Why not go ahead and praise him, Sister Joys,
- 9:20Speaker 1: I know I will. Sister nilsa good morning, God bless
- 9:23Speaker 1: you morning. Welcome back to the morning DeVos, because you
- 9:26Speaker 1: see my sister, my friend.
- 9:27Speaker 2: So here we are. We're in a season, a tough season.
- 9:30Speaker 1: We all know that people are in their feelings during
- 9:34Speaker 1: the season of election season, whatever, but we need to
- 9:38Speaker 1: be in our faith, not in our feelings. Right as believers,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I'm talking to us, Amen. A lot of times I'm
- 9:44Speaker 1: talking to us, as a matter of fact, most of
- 9:47Speaker 1: the time I'm talking about believers because as believers, we
- 9:50Speaker 1: can't judge the world. We can't judge others outside of
- 9:54Speaker 1: the kingdom. That's what the Word says, and that's how
- 9:55Speaker 1: we roll. We're not being judgmental, we're being concerned, Amen,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and we're judging each other rightly according to the Word
- 10:02Speaker 1: of God. As brothers and sisters. You call yourself a
- 10:05Speaker 1: Christ follower, I'll call myself a Christ follower. If you
- 10:08Speaker 1: see me out there acting crazy, Amen, use your judgment
- 10:11Speaker 1: and let me know that I'm out online because you
- 10:14Speaker 1: love me.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Amen.
- 10:16Speaker 1: God, What does God do as a father, Amen, He'll
- 10:19Speaker 1: discipline his children. So we need to be disciples of
- 10:23Speaker 1: the discipliner, if that makes any sense, and one another,
- 10:26Speaker 1: keep one another accountable and keep each other in check,
- 10:29Speaker 1: so that way the world will know that we're together
- 10:31Speaker 1: on this.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Amen.
- 10:32Speaker 1: We're not a divided kingdom. We're united kingdom, the Kingdom
- 10:36Speaker 1: of God.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Amen. So let's go for it.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Let me get this ready on the screen so that
- 10:40Speaker 1: way we could see what's going on. I'm saying, welcome
- 10:43Speaker 1: to his podcast or the morning devo on the radio
- 10:46Speaker 1: network at SO Winners with a ZI Orgy, thank you
- 10:48Speaker 1: so much for your return visit, or if this is
- 10:51Speaker 1: your first time.
- 10:51Speaker 2: We love first timers.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Right, all the groups of say amen today, we love
- 10:56Speaker 1: first timers.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Amen.
- 10:57Speaker 1: This is not a a trick to get you here
- 11:02Speaker 1: or anything like that. No coincidence. I'm believing coincidences. If
- 11:05Speaker 1: you're here listening on the radio on audio, Amen, God
- 11:09Speaker 1: has a word for you today as well. So good
- 11:12Speaker 1: morning to you as well. Let's go ahead and get
- 11:15Speaker 1: this ready on the screen. Give me one second and
- 11:19Speaker 1: here we go. Defend yourself, amen, And I always picture
- 11:23Speaker 1: a warrying angel when I see the word of God.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I'm talking about defending yourself. I see that there's a
- 11:30Speaker 1: lot more going on than what we could see in
- 11:33Speaker 1: the physical realm, Amen, spiritual realm, there's a lot going on.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Amen.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I know right now there's a war for somebody's soul,
- 11:41Speaker 1: including mine, including yours. But if you're born again, we
- 11:45Speaker 1: have a saved soul, a spirit is willing. The flesh
- 11:50Speaker 1: is the only weak part about us. But the soul,
- 11:53Speaker 1: if you're born again, is saved born again. But the
- 11:56Speaker 1: flesh is weak, spirit is willing. We need to defend
- 12:00Speaker 1: ourselves in the spirit as well. Defend yourself. This is
- 12:05Speaker 1: coming from two Timothy, chapter number two, Versus three and four.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The amplified version of the scripture says it like this,
- 12:13Speaker 1: take with me your share of the hardships and suffering
- 12:18Speaker 1: which you are called to endure as a good, first
- 12:22Speaker 1: class soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier, when in service
- 12:28Speaker 1: gets entangled in the enterprises of civilian life. Its aim
- 12:34Speaker 1: is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Supposed to be about our business. Ladies and gentlemen, don't
- 12:43Speaker 1: get entangled with the enterprises of civil civilian life. Other
- 12:49Speaker 1: versions of that say, to simplify a little bit more,
- 12:52Speaker 1: at least from me, to don't get involved in civil affairs.
- 13:00Speaker 1: People take that and say, oh, that means don't be
- 13:02Speaker 1: in involved in politics or government everything. I don't think
- 13:06Speaker 1: that's what it means, because a soldier is part of
- 13:08Speaker 1: the government, and we're Christian soldiers, and we have a kingdom,
- 13:11Speaker 1: a king of a kingdom, so we're under a different government.
- 13:15Speaker 1: But while we're here on planet Earth, leadies and gentlemen,
- 13:18Speaker 1: or we can't forget that we have a governing system
- 13:23Speaker 1: in this world that God places all the leaders in.
- 13:28Speaker 1: God make government, He places people in place. Ultimately a man,
- 13:32Speaker 1: nothing's going to get by God by voting right. We
- 13:35Speaker 1: can't vote God out of the governmental system. We can't
- 13:39Speaker 1: vote God out of our hearts and minds. We can't
- 13:41Speaker 1: vote God out of the world.
- 13:43Speaker 2: We're voting.
- 13:44Speaker 1: We're using a system that was put in place by
- 13:47Speaker 1: the system that's governing us. If you're listening in the
- 13:50Speaker 1: United States of America, where you have a government system.
- 13:53Speaker 1: If you're from another country, you have your own governing system,
- 13:56Speaker 1: a man, if you're from another planet, you have your
- 13:58Speaker 1: own governing system. That's what God says. He's in charge
- 14:02Speaker 1: of all the people in place of power. He will
- 14:05Speaker 1: use them for the purposes the ultimate purposes.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Of the Lord. Good leaders, bad leaders.
- 14:11Speaker 1: You know, men, women, whatever it is and man, you
- 14:14Speaker 1: see it all through the scriptures in the Old Covenant.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I don't know how people can say that God is
- 14:19Speaker 1: not into government when he established it. I don't know
- 14:22Speaker 1: how people can say, we're not supposed to be involved
- 14:25Speaker 1: in political systems when God established it a man. What
- 14:29Speaker 1: we're supposed to do is make sure we will remind
- 14:32Speaker 1: ourselves that we're not from the kingdom of this world,
- 14:34Speaker 1: that we're from the Kingdom of God. But we have
- 14:36Speaker 1: dual citizenships. We have a citizenship in heaven and a
- 14:39Speaker 1: citizenship here on earth. So let's make every second count
- 14:43Speaker 1: that we here a unified body of Christ during these times,
- 14:48Speaker 1: during this season, Amen, will make a tremendous difference.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I'm want to get to the other version of the.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Same scripture, and I thought I had it here. Well,
- 14:57Speaker 1: it's here on my phone. So two Timothy, chapter number two,
- 15:04Speaker 1: verses three and four says it. In this version, the
- 15:07Speaker 1: BSB says, join me in suffering like a good soldier
- 15:11Speaker 1: of Christ Jesus. And that invitation join me in suffering
- 15:14Speaker 1: to me is not very attractive, Amen, But you have
- 15:18Speaker 1: to follow with the word as a good soldier of
- 15:22Speaker 1: Christ Jesus. Right, a soldier refrains from entangling himself in
- 15:28Speaker 1: civilian affairs. That's the word I was trying to get
- 15:31Speaker 1: out earlier, entangling itselves in civilian affairs in order to
- 15:36Speaker 1: please the one who enlisted him. It's a lot there,
- 15:42Speaker 1: but this is a one in Devo, So I'm trying
- 15:44Speaker 1: to be light with it. Listen, when it comes to
- 15:48Speaker 1: civilian affairs, I love what Jesus said when they asked them,
- 15:52Speaker 1: should we pay taxes to the government, to pay taxes
- 15:57Speaker 1: to Caesar? The governments just said, whose image is on
- 16:02Speaker 1: that coin? People say, well, Caesar's image is on that
- 16:07Speaker 1: coin that.
- 16:08Speaker 2: We have dollar bills. I wish I had one on me.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Now we have images on our currency too, as Americans.
- 16:15Speaker 1: He used to ask, whose image is on you? He
- 16:17Speaker 1: should have asked, but he asked. So he told them,
- 16:20Speaker 1: so give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and also
- 16:24Speaker 1: give the government what belongs to the government. But give
- 16:26Speaker 1: God what belongs to him, what belongs to God in
- 16:30Speaker 1: your life, what belongs to God in my life? Think
- 16:33Speaker 1: about it. To me, everything belongs to God in my life.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Without him, I can't do anything. I realized that right away,
- 16:40Speaker 1: straight away. The government to take some money to take
- 16:45Speaker 1: our taxes. They they rule over us and authority earthly authority.
- 16:52Speaker 1: So we're not supposed to break the law of the land.
- 16:54Speaker 1: And we're definitely like going to break the law of
- 16:56Speaker 1: the Lord. Amen, So we follow follow, We do as
- 17:00Speaker 1: I'm told, But we defend ourselves when we're feeling threatened.
- 17:04Speaker 1: We defend ourselves if someone is trying to do us
- 17:08Speaker 1: bodily harm. We defend ourselves as believers if we feel
- 17:11Speaker 1: like our life is threatened. Defend yourself only if you
- 17:14Speaker 1: face bodily harm or if your life is in danger.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Jesus himself used the concept of a man defending his household. Matthew,
- 17:24Speaker 1: Chapter five, verse thirty eight to forty one. Listen to
- 17:26Speaker 1: what Jesus said.
- 17:28Speaker 2: You have read. You have heard that.
- 17:30Speaker 1: It was said I FORO and I and two for tooth,
- 17:33Speaker 1: referring to the old Covenant law. As he was talking
- 17:36Speaker 1: to people who were used to the teachings hundreds and
- 17:40Speaker 1: hundreds of years of old Covenant teachings. So he's letting
- 17:43Speaker 1: them know you heard it already, I FORO and I
- 17:46Speaker 1: two forot tooth. In other words, you do something bad
- 17:49Speaker 1: to me, I'll do something bad to you IFO and
- 17:52Speaker 1: I two foot tooth. Remember that it's an old Covenant
- 17:55Speaker 1: commandment that the people that he was speaking to were
- 17:57Speaker 1: accustomed to living.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Buy.
- 18:01Speaker 1: But I tell you now, Jesus is saying, let me
- 18:04Speaker 1: revise this, do not resist an evil person. If someone
- 18:09Speaker 1: strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other. Also,
- 18:14Speaker 1: now people say, take this scripture. I've seen it with
- 18:18Speaker 1: my own eyes. This is this man that was in
- 18:21Speaker 1: another country that i'll leave unnamed in a a school university,
- 18:26Speaker 1: preaching the gospel, and someone went up to the stage
- 18:29Speaker 1: smacked him on the cheek and says, your word says
- 18:32Speaker 1: that you're supposed to turn him turn the other cheek,
- 18:34Speaker 1: and I'm supposed to smack there. So to fulfill that word,
- 18:40Speaker 1: this man turned his other cheek. The man slapped him,
- 18:43Speaker 1: and then a man said to the man on say
- 18:45Speaker 1: that was preaching the gospital. He said, now you're supposed
- 18:47Speaker 1: to give me your garments, cause your Bible says that
- 18:51Speaker 1: if we're aksed for your garments, your trousers and everything.
- 18:54Speaker 1: So in other words, he gave him his shirt and
- 18:55Speaker 1: gave him his trousers, and he was just left. This
- 18:58Speaker 1: is a true story, who just left with his boxers
- 19:03Speaker 1: so embarrassed, shunned by in the crowd. He kept my
- 19:08Speaker 1: preaching the gospel, and then in his embarrassment he left.
- 19:11Speaker 1: He went into his dressing room and cried out to God, said, God,
- 19:15Speaker 1: why would you have me humiliated like this? I thought
- 19:18Speaker 1: I was here on assignment for a purpose, not knowing
- 19:22Speaker 1: that when he left his dressing room there were hundreds
- 19:26Speaker 1: and hundreds of students. These are students from another faith
- 19:30Speaker 1: that I leave unnamed, one hundred asking and begging him
- 19:34Speaker 1: for forgiveness, because they said the person that went up
- 19:37Speaker 1: there and slapped him and took his clothing was not
- 19:40Speaker 1: representing their religion correctly, it was out of hatred, and
- 19:44Speaker 1: I was out of spite. So he felt the forgiving,
- 19:49Speaker 1: the forgiveness that he was being asked for. A man
- 19:52Speaker 1: of he saw that, and then he realized that God
- 19:56Speaker 1: set up that place to show how to defend yourself,
- 20:02Speaker 1: not by striking back, not by saying this is my
- 20:06Speaker 1: right to do this and my right to do that, No,
- 20:09Speaker 1: by being obedient to a Holy Spirit wanted to do
- 20:12Speaker 1: in that current situation. I say that to say this,
- 20:15Speaker 1: when your rescriptures like that, don't let anybody entice you
- 20:20Speaker 1: by saying you have to do this, you have to
- 20:22Speaker 1: do that, especially if they're not Holy Spirit.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Failed.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Now, if Holy Spirit wants you to do certain things
- 20:30Speaker 1: in order to make a point to those individuals or
- 20:33Speaker 1: to that person. Allow Holy Spirit to work in your life.
- 20:36Speaker 1: And man, you might not understand why, but you'll get
- 20:40Speaker 1: it as soon as you'll be obedient to what God
- 20:43Speaker 1: is saying through his Holy Spirit. So and if someone
- 20:48Speaker 1: wants to sue you and take you to your tunic,
- 20:51Speaker 1: this is what this person was referring to when he
- 20:54Speaker 1: ran up on that stage, let him have your cloak
- 20:57Speaker 1: as well. In other words, let him have your garments.
- 21:00Speaker 1: If someone forces you to go one mile, go with
- 21:03Speaker 1: him two miles. In other words, the less be more
- 21:06Speaker 1: focused on what God asks of us than the person
- 21:10Speaker 1: or the people that are asking from us.
- 21:12Speaker 2: It's that simple.
- 21:14Speaker 1: I'm going to definitely be challenged now that I put
- 21:17Speaker 1: it out there right. Oh, you might be challenged to
- 21:19Speaker 1: be thinking about it a man to walk along these lines.
- 21:23Speaker 1: But trust God and the purpose and a plan that
- 21:26Speaker 1: he has because it's going to be for the other people.
- 21:29Speaker 1: And notice how he used that humiliation from the gospel
- 21:33Speaker 1: preacher and that university and to see the forgiveness of
- 21:37Speaker 1: God all through. At the end, when he was crying
- 21:41Speaker 1: out to the lawd said, why would you have me
- 21:44Speaker 1: being humiliated?
- 21:46Speaker 2: Luke?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Chapter eleven Verses twenty one and twenty two. Jesus made
- 21:51Speaker 1: this like a story, right.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Parable.
- 21:55Speaker 1: When a strong man fully armed guard to his own house,
- 21:58Speaker 1: his possessions are safe. When someone stronger attacks and overpowers him,
- 22:02Speaker 1: he takes away the armor in which the man trusted
- 22:06Speaker 1: and divides up the spoils. In other words, a strong man,
- 22:09Speaker 1: there is always a stronger one. Greater is he who
- 22:12Speaker 1: is in us than he who is in the world.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Amazing, defend yourself.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Don't be afraid of who you are in Christ and
- 22:21Speaker 1: who Christ is in you. Right, He's the ultimate savior,
- 22:26Speaker 1: He's an ultimate protector. He's our strong fortress, a mighty tower.
- 22:31Speaker 1: He's powerful a man. But there's a creed that my
- 22:36Speaker 1: godson in his comfort class, the creed they follow don't
- 22:40Speaker 1: use violence, right, and to defend yourself at all times. Right,
- 22:47Speaker 1: But don't use violence. It's crazy, right that you would
- 22:50Speaker 1: think in comfort classes and men defend yourself using this,
- 22:53Speaker 1: that and the third. But that actually a creed is
- 22:55Speaker 1: saying don't use violence, right, because they only will defend
- 22:59Speaker 1: themselves if they think there's gonna be bodily harmed done
- 23:02Speaker 1: to them or their life is threatened.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Similar to what we're told in the scriptures. What can
- 23:10Speaker 1: man do to us? The Bible says, take us out.
- 23:14Speaker 1: They could harm this flesh and bones, this bag of
- 23:17Speaker 1: bones and blood, but they can't do nothing to our
- 23:20Speaker 1: soul or spirit. Our soul is saved, and our spirit
- 23:23Speaker 1: belongs to the Lord. Now, if you're unsaved, if you're
- 23:26Speaker 1: not born again, Amen, be careful when the way you
- 23:30Speaker 1: defend yourself is gonna be different. It's gonna have different consequences.
- 23:34Speaker 1: And at the end, if you're not born again and
- 23:37Speaker 1: you're taken out, you're gonna be eternally separated from your
- 23:42Speaker 1: creative eternally separated from your Savior, eternally separated from.
- 23:46Speaker 2: The justice of God.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So the beautiful thing about the Gospel, it is so
- 23:52Speaker 1: beautiful that it's not a forced religion, it's not a
- 23:55Speaker 1: forced way of living, but it is offered to you daily.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:01Speaker 1: The day of the Lord is today. Salvation is today.
- 24:05Speaker 1: He offers it every single time that you listen to
- 24:08Speaker 1: his word, that you're surrounded by the community of believers,
- 24:12Speaker 1: that you are praying. Amen, he offers you his salvation,
- 24:16Speaker 1: so that way you will know how to defend yourself
- 24:19Speaker 1: in these perilous times.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It's not I for a.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Nine anymore, tooth for tooth gone old covenant. Jesus said
- 24:25Speaker 1: it out of his own mouth. You heard it, said
- 24:29Speaker 1: I for a nine tooth for a tooth. But I
- 24:32Speaker 1: tell you, amen, But I tell you the lawyer says,
- 24:36Speaker 1: now we're gonna do this different.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Amen.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Jesus fulfilled the law. He lived that life, fulfilling the law.
- 24:44Speaker 1: But he says, but now, I tell you, In other words,
- 24:46Speaker 1: is a new way, a new covenant, a new promise,
- 24:49Speaker 1: a new set of laws. He didn't come to abolish
- 24:52Speaker 1: the law. He came and he fulfilled the law. And
- 24:56Speaker 1: he says, I'm gonna modify this right now this statement.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Other places he says, love your enemies, pray for your enemies.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Right.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Old Coming doesn't say that, Old Coming that says I
- 25:09Speaker 1: for an I two for two. So the way they
- 25:11Speaker 1: they we're offending themselves under the law of Moses is
- 25:15Speaker 1: different than how we defend ourselves.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Under the law of the Lord.
- 25:19Speaker 1: One of the points I was making sure I made
- 25:21Speaker 1: before I got off of this, because some people still
- 25:25Speaker 1: think that we're under the law. When the apostle Paul,
- 25:29Speaker 1: he took time. I think three chapters in Romans to
- 25:32Speaker 1: let us know, no, we're not. And Jesus says, I
- 25:35Speaker 1: tell you you heard this part of the law. I'm
- 25:37Speaker 1: telling you this part of the law. And then he
- 25:39Speaker 1: gave us two and he said, on those two hang
- 25:43Speaker 1: all of the law and all of the prophets.
- 25:47Speaker 2: So he fulfilled it.
- 25:48Speaker 1: If you're in Christ, you are actually abiding, you are
- 25:52Speaker 1: actually following the commandments, because Jesus said, if you love me,
- 25:56Speaker 1: follow my commandments.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Love God, follow all his commandments.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Right, we're not here to break any commandments, break any
- 26:04Speaker 1: laws of God a man. We're here to be in Christ.
- 26:08Speaker 1: And he's the only one who fulfilled the law perfectly,
- 26:12Speaker 1: and he gave us Holy Spirit God to help us
- 26:14Speaker 1: do the same.
- 26:15Speaker 2: As we move in.
- 26:16Speaker 1: This world, we're no longer identifying as sinners. We identify
- 26:21Speaker 1: as what God calls us saints, world priesthood right, the
- 26:25Speaker 1: righteous ones of God, the chosen ones of God, sanctified ones,
- 26:29Speaker 1: living testimonies, living temples, walking sanctuaries, because we have Holy
- 26:35Speaker 1: Spirit living inside of us, which is the hope of
- 26:37Speaker 1: glory for this world. Amen, defend yourself to find yourself
- 26:41Speaker 1: only when facing bodily harm or if your life is
- 26:44Speaker 1: in danger, and we defend ourselves not with weapons of
- 26:48Speaker 1: carnal weapons or anything like that. We're not worrying against
- 26:52Speaker 1: fleshing blood. We're worrying against principalities and high places. But
- 26:57Speaker 1: the Word condemns that, and the power of God through
- 26:59Speaker 1: his angelic host protects us all the way through it.
- 27:02Speaker 1: And we defend ourselves differently than what the world thinks
- 27:06Speaker 1: how to defend themselves.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Right, So I'm out of time. I hope you're getting
- 27:09Speaker 2: what I'm saying.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Read two Timothy, chapter two, the whole chapter for yourself, amen,
- 27:16Speaker 1: and let me know what your thoughts are on defending
- 27:18Speaker 1: yourself the Christ's way, Christian way as soldiers of the Cross.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Amen. So let me send you off with a blessing.
- 27:26Speaker 1: God bless you all, God keep you all, and remember
- 27:30Speaker 1: always that God is good.
- 27:33Speaker 2: Peace.
