- 1:04Emeal Zwayne: the things that end up leading to murder.
- 1:07Emeal Zwayne: They always begin in the heart.
- 1:09Emeal Zwayne: Amen, you don't just.
- 1:10Emeal Zwayne: You know, you're just not having a nice day whistling walking down the road, oh phew, and just hit someone when you're white.
- 1:15Ray Comfort: No, I'm sure I will control your loss.
- 1:17Emeal Zwayne: South Central LA.
- 1:18Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:19Emeal Zwayne: Maybe it is a sport in some places.
- 1:21Emeal Zwayne: But Matthew 521 to 22, you have heard that it was said to those of old you shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.
- 1:28Emeal Zwayne: But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment, and whoever says to his brother Raqqa, shall be in danger of the council.
- 1:38Emeal Zwayne: But whoever says you, fool, shall be in danger of hellfire.
- 1:41Oscar Navarro: I gotta tell you this is one of the most haunting verses in the New Testament.
- 1:47Oscar Navarro: The way that Jesus ratchets up the law to convict us all, like so many people wanna be like.
- 1:55Oscar Navarro: Oh, you know, god in the Old Testament was so full of wrath and God in the New Testament is Jesus and he's so full of love.
- 2:02Oscar Navarro: But man read the New Testament it's like he turns the volume up on love, for sure, but he also turns the volume way up on judgment and on the law ["The Blind"].
- 2:23Emeal Zwayne: The blind leading the blind.
- 2:25Emeal Zwayne: It blows my mind how the blind can lead the blind.
- 2:31Emeal Zwayne: Mark Spence.
- 2:34Mark Spence: Wait, wait.
- 2:34Mark Spence: My name is the first thing that comes up in your mouth.
- 2:37Ray Comfort: I was gonna say I'm glad it wasn't me.
- 2:39Emeal Zwayne: You think that song was a random.
- 2:40Emeal Zwayne: You don't think that there's a connection there?
- 2:42Emeal Zwayne: I think it was off key no.
- 2:46Oscar Navarro: There was no key.
- 2:47Emeal Zwayne: No, there was no key to be on it.
- 2:50Mark Spence: The key to singing is to be on key.
- 2:53Emeal Zwayne: It was absolutely perfect, Mark God.
- 2:56Ray Comfort: But isn't that like self-righteousness?
- 2:57Ray Comfort: We all think we're good people.
- 2:59Ray Comfort: No, and we all think we sing on key, but man.
- 3:02Mark Spence: Not when you know you're really good.
- 3:03Mark Spence: Well, easy, let me ask you a genuine question Do you think you're a?
- 3:07Oscar Navarro: Be honest.
- 3:08Oscar Navarro: A singer Be honest.
- 3:10Emeal Zwayne: Okay, personally, I don't know any singer better than me.
- 3:15Emeal Zwayne: I'll tell you, you don't know any singers.
- 3:18Mark Spence: My son, ethan, said that he loves your singing.
- 3:20Mark Spence: Stop it.
- 3:21Emeal Zwayne: What Deceitously no.
- 3:23Emeal Zwayne: Ethan's a brilliant and genius man.
- 3:27Ray Comfort: But he's also deaf.
- 3:28Oscar Navarro: He's also deaf.
- 3:30Emeal Zwayne: Did you not know that, mark?
- 3:32Emeal Zwayne: You're very blind and you didn't see that coming?
- 3:36Emeal Zwayne: You and I were traveling together recently.
- 3:38Emeal Zwayne: We went to Puerto Rico and on our way back there was a gate at the airport and I told you the gate and you and I were walking, and you can't do the chase, no, and next thing we know we were very, very, very, very, very far beyond our gate and you blamed me.
- 3:59Mark Spence: Yes, yeah, I just need a moment.
- 4:03Mark Spence: Why did you do that?
- 4:05Emeal Zwayne: You were leading us to the gate.
- 4:07Emeal Zwayne: I was not.
- 4:07Emeal Zwayne: You were leading us to the gate.
- 4:09Emeal Zwayne: You said, what's the gate?
- 4:10Emeal Zwayne: And you were leading us.
- 4:12Emeal Zwayne: I told you the gate and then you were Mark.
- 4:14Emeal Zwayne: When we traveled, you were ahead of me.
- 4:15Emeal Zwayne: Mark, you always lead when we travel.
- 4:17Emeal Zwayne: You know, I can't find my way out of my bathtub and I will lead Ray because Ray will lead us.
- 4:23Mark Spence: Ray will lead us astray.
- 4:25Ray Comfort: That's true, and when you and I travel, we are not in the wrong part of the airport.
- 4:29Emeal Zwayne: It's insane.
- 4:30Emeal Zwayne: Seriously, we're leaders of this ministry, well, you aren't.
- 4:34Emeal Zwayne: We have no idea where we're going or what we're doing.
- 4:38Emeal Zwayne: I have, seriously.
- 4:39Emeal Zwayne: What is it with that?
- 4:40Emeal Zwayne: Why am I so bad Ray?
- 4:41Emeal Zwayne: You're worse than me.
- 4:43Ray Comfort: I'm 100 times worse.
- 4:44Ray Comfort: I've got the directions of a dead goose.
- 4:45Ray Comfort: Seriously, I cannot.
- 4:47Ray Comfort: I am my own city or got lost.
- 4:51Mark Spence: I came out of a truck.
- 4:51Ray Comfort: I preached debt and I went in the wrong direction.
- 4:53Ray Comfort: I told Sorenge she couldn't believe.
- 4:54Ray Comfort: Well, she could.
- 4:56Mark Spence: I was in New Zealand with Ray and Ray got a rental car.
- 4:59Mark Spence: I think it was a rental car Either way.
- 5:00Mark Spence: It was a vehicle with a stick shift and but the steering was on the other side of the car and it looks at me all right, let's go, and I'm like I can't drive.
- 5:07Mark Spence: I know how to drive a stick, but the steering was on the wrong side of the car.
- 5:11Ray Comfort: I'm not gonna do good on that.
- 5:12Ray Comfort: It was on the left side of the road.
- 5:15Oscar Navarro: When I was in London one time Sheffield England actually and some friends took me out riding on a road bike like a bicycle and talk about discombobulating, because everything's on the wrong side of the road and I'm riding a bike through like major traffic and these guys are flying, we did like 25 miles and I did not want to.
- 5:36Oscar Navarro: I didn't want to be the lazy American that couldn't keep up.
- 5:40Oscar Navarro: So my strategy was just to like tuck behind the guy in front of me and just hold on for your dear life.
- 5:45Ray Comfort: Okay, until you get to intersections, you don't have to turn that's the frightening part, they were roundabouts.
- 5:49Oscar Navarro: We were riding our bike the wrong way on a roundabout, while people were going the wrong way and everything in you was saying no.
- 5:56Emeal Zwayne: I would never, ever drive in England or New Zealand, australia, whatever, on the other side of the road, no way.
- 6:02Emeal Zwayne: You barely do it here, will?
- 6:03Emeal Zwayne: That's true?
- 6:04Emeal Zwayne: No, it's insane.
- 6:07Emeal Zwayne: And I, you know, I went to the master's college for a while Years ago.
- 6:12Emeal Zwayne: I took some classes and I would drive out there every single week and I still needed directions.
- 6:18Emeal Zwayne: To this day I would not know how to get there.
- 6:20Emeal Zwayne: I don't know what it is, I mean seriously, I do, did you see?
- 6:24Emeal Zwayne: Stupidity yes, it's all of this.
- 6:28Emeal Zwayne: I don't understand, because I don't have a memory problem.
- 6:31Ray Comfort: Well, my son Daniel just needs to know where the sun is, to know where to go.
- 6:35Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, I'm the same way, seriously, I will go, I'll be in an airport, I'll go in a bathroom and I'll come out, and I cannot remember which direction my car is Okay.
- 6:42Ray Comfort: when you open the cupboard for glasses, do you open the cupboard for cups?
- 6:46Emeal Zwayne: All the time Wrong drawers, wrong cabinet.
- 6:50Ray Comfort: Yes, it's just crazy.
- 6:51Ray Comfort: I think it's geniuses alike there.
- 6:53Emeal Zwayne: Yes, yes, exactly, einstein didn't know, of course.
- 6:56Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, he didn't know where his closet was.
- 6:58Ray Comfort: He didn't know where his hairbrush was.
- 6:59Ray Comfort: That's true.
- 7:01Emeal Zwayne: You're pretty soon, Ray.
- 7:02Emeal Zwayne: No, do you know what?
- 7:03Emeal Zwayne: Einstein?
- 7:03Ray Comfort: said.
- 7:03Ray Comfort: Einstein said I hate being recognized in public and I just said get a hair cap.
- 7:09Ray Comfort: All you need to do is chop like two feet off and you wouldn't get recognized.
- 7:13Emeal Zwayne: Seriously, was that just like because he was so busy being smart, he just didn't think about cutting his hair?
- 7:19Emeal Zwayne: It's smart.
- 7:20Ray Comfort: I don't know.
- 7:20Ray Comfort: Someone gave him a fright.
- 7:21Emeal Zwayne: I don't know.
- 7:22Ray Comfort: He liked Phyllis Diller's precursor.
- 7:25Ray Comfort: Phyllis Diller, oh what a throwback, Oscar.
- 7:28Oscar Navarro: who's Phyllis Diller?
- 7:29Oscar Navarro: No idea.
- 7:31Emeal Zwayne: Phyllis Diller man, she was hilarious.
- 7:33Emeal Zwayne: She was very dry full.
- 7:35Emeal Zwayne: Are you guys that way at all with directions?
- 7:38Emeal Zwayne: I mean, I know?
- 7:39Mark Spence: there's some people.
- 7:40Emeal Zwayne: They'll go somewhere one time and years later they can go back.
- 7:43Oscar Navarro: That's Daniel that way.
- 7:44Oscar Navarro: Yeah, when we were in Singapore on day two, we walked out and Kelly was like, where was that I go?
- 7:49Oscar Navarro: It's right over here.
- 7:50Oscar Navarro: No, I knew where.
- 7:51Emeal Zwayne: I was going Seriously.
- 7:52Emeal Zwayne: If I go to speak at a church and I'll go into one room, I won't know how to get back if I leave it.
- 7:57Emeal Zwayne: It's crazy, Although full confession.
- 8:00Oscar Navarro: Last night I got up I don't know at three o'clock in the morning to use the restroom and I walked out of my restroom and I thought I was walking in my bed and all of a sudden boom, I hit the door.
- 8:08Oscar Navarro: What I was like half asleep and I went boom.
- 8:11Emeal Zwayne: I was like where am I?
- 8:12Emeal Zwayne: I think you have our same problem, oscar, mark, you're not good with directions.
- 8:16Mark Spence: I'm very good with directions, but I'm exactly like Daniel I can be anywhere in the country and turn me around in circles.
- 8:24Mark Spence: I'll tell you exactly which way north and out and west, are you?
- 8:27Ray Comfort: serious.
- 8:27Ray Comfort: If someone gives you directions, they go west, move north.
- 8:30Ray Comfort: I haven't got a clue what they're talking about.
- 8:31Oscar Navarro: I think it's easy because we're in Southern California, so we've got an ocean and a mountain.
- 8:35Oscar Navarro: How do you get lost?
- 8:37Oscar Navarro: You?
- 8:37Emeal Zwayne: know what I mean.
- 8:37Emeal Zwayne: It's when I'm like oh Texas, where everything looks the same.
- 8:41Emeal Zwayne: Listen, Ray, and I fully understand this, that you no how do you?
- 8:45Oscar Navarro: what are you talking about?
- 8:46Emeal Zwayne: I'm sorry, the ocean's hot.
- 8:49Oscar Navarro: I can't see those things.
- 8:51Emeal Zwayne: I can't see those things If you told me.
- 8:53Ray Comfort: I'll give you $100 to point to where Huntington beach is.
- 8:56Ray Comfort: I wouldn't be able to point to it.
- 8:57Ray Comfort: Let's see where is it.
- 8:57Ray Comfort: It feels like it's over there.
- 8:59Ray Comfort: Yes, that's right.
- 9:00Ray Comfort: Okay, now listen.
- 9:01Emeal Zwayne: I got it.
- 9:01Emeal Zwayne: You're on your hundred If I'm living if I'm in an area that's like really familiar, like I know, like I'll know.
- 9:08Emeal Zwayne: Okay, this is northeast, southwest, I know.
- 9:10Emeal Zwayne: The sun sets in the west, rises in the east.
- 9:12Emeal Zwayne: What are you doing, mark?
- 9:13Emeal Zwayne: That was you, I know.
- 9:14Emeal Zwayne: Do you see how I automatically?
- 9:20Mark Spence: blame Mark.
- 9:20Mark Spence: I rolled my water cup lid towards easy.
- 9:25Ray Comfort: It was brilliant.
- 9:26Ray Comfort: It was a really good roll.
- 9:27Ray Comfort: It was really good.
- 9:28Ray Comfort: I wish I just got it all filled up.
- 9:29Emeal Zwayne: I feel so good to blame Mark for everything.
- 9:31Mark Spence: Well, it's going to ship on video.
- 9:32Emeal Zwayne: Oh, that's right, but no, like after a while I can know where I'm at.
- 9:36Emeal Zwayne: That's East, you know, but other than that I don't get it.
- 9:41Emeal Zwayne: My brother Frank, he's so good with directions Like he can get you anywhere.
- 9:45Emeal Zwayne: He can remember I'm lost.
- 9:47Mark Spence: Why are we still talking about?
- 9:48Emeal Zwayne: this.
- 9:48Emeal Zwayne: We like to talk, we've lost our sense of direction for the podcast.
- 9:53Oscar Navarro: That's how we get up in these tangents All right friends.
- 9:55Emeal Zwayne: Here's a comment from Les Les Left, left, left, l-e-s-l-e F.
- 10:01Emeal Zwayne: Really yeah.
- 10:05Oscar Navarro: You know, people have been making fun of her her whole life for that name.
- 10:07Emeal Zwayne: My name is Les Lyft.
- 10:08Emeal Zwayne: If I could, if I could put more than five stars, I would.
- 10:12Emeal Zwayne: Hi guys, my name is Leslie and just wanted to say that I love this podcast.
- 10:17Emeal Zwayne: I always look forward to the new one.
- 10:19Emeal Zwayne: This podcast has brought a lot of understanding to my life regarding certain things that I've recommended this podcast to my family and my friends.
- 10:26Emeal Zwayne: I've been.
- 10:27Emeal Zwayne: I've even bought stuff off of the website.
- 10:29Emeal Zwayne: Everything is just absolutely amazing.
- 10:31Emeal Zwayne: But I do have a question what kind of resource, even from your website, sorry, what would you best recommend to use when it comes to sharing the true word of God with a Mormon?
- 10:42Emeal Zwayne: Thank you much.
- 10:43Emeal Zwayne: Thank you much love and looking forward to hearing your advice.
- 10:47Emeal Zwayne: I've got the book just for you, leslie.
- 10:50Emeal Zwayne: In fact, it's a product of the day.
- 10:52Emeal Zwayne: This podcast is brought to you by World Religions.
- 10:59Ray Comfort: A nutcase.
- 11:01Emeal Zwayne: From a nutcase World Religions in a nutshell, a compact guide to reaching those of other faiths.
- 11:09Oscar Navarro: So, ray, that is my wife's favorite rate comfort book.
- 11:12Oscar Navarro: Really she loves it.
- 11:15Emeal Zwayne: Well, I think the reason why it's so appealing is because it's succinct.
- 11:18Emeal Zwayne: In short, yeah, judaism, mormonism, jehovah's Witnesses, islam, roman Catholicism, hinduism, buddhism, atheism, modern Christianity.
- 11:25Emeal Zwayne: That's just the first chapter, then it goes on from there.
- 11:28Emeal Zwayne: But, yeah, excellent book and I highly recommend it.
- 11:32Emeal Zwayne: Leslie, that's the one and friends make sure to check it out.
- 11:34Emeal Zwayne: Why Christianity?
- 11:35Mark Spence: is also very good.
- 11:36Mark Spence: Why Christianity?
- 11:38Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, our video, the teaching and the book of the day.
- 11:40Mark Spence: It tells you the difference, right?
- 11:41Mark Spence: I mean, there's so many different world views that are out there, but and they all serve seemingly decent purposes, yeah, but they don't answer the dilemma that the world has, which is the sin problem.
- 11:53Mark Spence: Amen, so you can look at Mormonism and go, hey, they have great family units, well, but what, what, what, what next?
- 11:59Mark Spence: They have a sin problem.
- 12:00Mark Spence: Yeah, that's good.
- 12:02Ray Comfort: There's a good video on our second channel that's done about two or three days, has got 150,000 views and it's for Mormons talking to a short preacher.
- 12:11Ray Comfort: Who's that short preacher?
- 12:12Ray Comfort: Right, it was really good.
- 12:14Ray Comfort: They believed in evolution, all sorts of stuff.
- 12:17Emeal Zwayne: Can you imagine if they jumped Ray and beat him up?
- 12:19Mark Spence: They were all like yeah look, he's a third grader, let's get him.
- 12:22Oscar Navarro: Did you see?
- 12:22Oscar Navarro: You were talking to a foreman.
- 12:24Ray Comfort: Four, four four, four Mormons.
- 12:26Emeal Zwayne: Boy, that's a tongue to the word.
- 12:28Ray Comfort: All the guys are about six three, so I was talking to their knees and the girls were even late up there.
- 12:32Ray Comfort: It was like the top parts of trees, they were huge.
- 12:36Emeal Zwayne: More genetics yeah it must be.
- 12:38Emeal Zwayne: Yeah.
- 12:39Ray Comfort: But they were very nice.
- 12:40Ray Comfort: Oh, they're always nice Mormons are.
- 12:42Oscar Navarro: Nephilim.
- 12:44Emeal Zwayne: Seriously, though, mormons are like some of the nicest people on the planet, but that's a part of the deception.
- 12:49Emeal Zwayne: I think that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, and they are genuinely nice people.
- 12:55Emeal Zwayne: Unfortunately, the disservice that so many people do to them is a play, along with their narrative that they're Christians.
- 13:01Emeal Zwayne: I've been shocked by how there have been some quote unquote Christian leaders who say yeah, mormons, yeah, they love Jesus.
- 13:08Emeal Zwayne: Absolutely tragic.
- 13:10Emeal Zwayne: So, anyway, world religions in a nutshell from a case, and don't forget the Living Waters bug, along with the evidence study Bible, all at Oscar.
- 13:21Emeal Zwayne: You do it this time.
- 13:22Emeal Zwayne: I'll do the tune at the end Living.
- 13:23Oscar Navarro: Waters.
- 13:24Emeal Zwayne: Dot com, that was bad.
- 13:32Oscar Navarro: We have a comment no comments.
- 13:36Ray Comfort: That was so beautiful, oscar.
- 13:38Ray Comfort: We're moving on to the mugs right now, and cute and lovely, but we have a mug competition.
- 13:45Emeal Zwayne: Oh yeah, Mug contest.
- 13:46Emeal Zwayne: Do you remember what it was?
- 13:48Ray Comfort: Yes.
- 13:49Emeal Zwayne: Send in the best picture doing something crazy with one of our mugs Living.
- 13:53Mark Spence: Waters, mugs, hashtag Living Waters mug Contest and the winner gets an evidence.
- 13:59Mark Spence: Study Bible yes.
- 14:00Oscar Navarro: Con with.
- 14:01Oscar Navarro: So whatever you guys want to do, you can draw pictures on your mug Skydiving and drink out of it while skydiving Ray would love that, no, and whatever you do, take a picture and send it.
- 14:13Emeal Zwayne: You have so desecrated my face with that missing tooth.
- 14:14Emeal Zwayne: You love it so much.
- 14:17Ray Comfort: Oscar, if the parachute doesn't open, the mug's going to break.
- 14:19Ray Comfort: That's a good point.
- 14:21Emeal Zwayne: Protect the mug, It'll break their fall maybe.
- 14:24Oscar Navarro: So post it on your favorite social media.
- 14:26Oscar Navarro: We'll be checking Instagram, twitter which is no longer called Twitter and Facebook, and use the hashtag.
- 14:33Ray Comfort: Is it a knowing that it's no longer called Twitter?
- 14:34Ray Comfort: Is life confusing enough without that?
- 14:36Ray Comfort: How do?
- 14:36Emeal Zwayne: you say?
- 14:37Emeal Zwayne: You used to say I tweeted.
- 14:38Emeal Zwayne: What do you say now?
- 14:38Emeal Zwayne: I asked, I asked.
- 14:40Ray Comfort: Yeah, my ex Sounds like a divorce.
- 14:43Oscar Navarro: Use the hashtag Living Waters mug and we will find it and we will reward the winner.
- 14:49Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, send it in Easy.
- 14:52Ray Comfort: My love for you was epitomized this morning.
- 14:55Ray Comfort: I was local college and I was just about to leave at 25 minutes to get back here for the podcast and I saw a girl with blue hair.
- 15:02Ray Comfort: No, did you stop her?
- 15:04Ray Comfort: I did.
- 15:05Ray Comfort: They came up and said, oh, what a cute doll.
- 15:07Ray Comfort: This guy was so colorful with her and she had this bright blue hair.
- 15:10Ray Comfort: It wasn't natural and I had that and I thought, oh easy.
- 15:15Ray Comfort: As a time fanatic, you know you're going to be turning in your grave if you're called the late Amiel.
- 15:20Emeal Zwayne: Swain when you die, but you made it on time.
- 15:23Ray Comfort: Yeah, because I didn't interview them.
- 15:24Ray Comfort: But I said if you see me, wave me down.
- 15:26Ray Comfort: Ray you know why.
- 15:29Emeal Zwayne: How do you feel?
- 15:30Emeal Zwayne: Oh, I feel terrible.
- 15:31Ray Comfort: I would have been late.
- 15:32Ray Comfort: I'm entering the gospel.
- 15:32Ray Comfort: Yeah, I would have been late.
- 15:35Emeal Zwayne: Oh, come on Seriously, don't ever hesitate with that, really, no, okay, I know where they're having lunch.
- 15:42Ray Comfort: This is like the Good.
- 15:42Oscar Navarro: Samaritan all over again.
- 15:44Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, all right friends.
- 15:46Emeal Zwayne: Time to jump into the topic of the day, examining what compels people to murder.
- 15:52Emeal Zwayne: Whoa that's ominous.
- 15:55Ray Comfort: How come you said murder Just normal.
- 15:57Ray Comfort: That's bitter.
- 16:00Emeal Zwayne: Well look, yeah, murder is a boy.
- 16:04Emeal Zwayne: It's crazy.
- 16:06Ray Comfort: What's a worse word than murder, manslaughter?
- 16:09Ray Comfort: Yeah, wait, wait wait, that's Brian.
- 16:12Emeal Zwayne: Regan, that's Brian.
- 16:13Ray Comfort: Regan, that's Brian Regan, yeah.
- 16:15Mark Spence: Yeah, that's right.
- 16:17Ray Comfort: He just said this, and there's no worse word than manslaughter.
- 16:20Emeal Zwayne: No, he's like, he's guilty of manslaughter.
- 16:24Ray Comfort: Keep your false teeth.
- 16:26Oscar Navarro: Yeah, there's water damage on spitting everywhere.
- 16:29Ray Comfort: We've just learned that you can't say slaughter without spreading water.
- 16:32Emeal Zwayne: That's slaughter.
- 16:33Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, that does have a.
- 16:35Emeal Zwayne: It's horrible, Crazy yeah.
- 16:37Ray Comfort: And it's not even as bad as murder.
- 16:39Ray Comfort: It's one down from murder, Manslaughter.
- 16:40Ray Comfort: You're not as guilty.
- 16:41Mark Spence: Yeah, you run something over.
- 16:42Mark Spence: It's not premeditated, yeah, but it's manslaughter.
- 16:44Ray Comfort: Yeah Well, friends, exodus 2013.
- 16:47Ray Comfort: Where's the women in there, would I say.
- 16:50Ray Comfort: Men, no manslaughter.
- 16:52Emeal Zwayne: Oh, that's true.
- 16:52Emeal Zwayne: I'm surprised, yeah, I'm surprised the liberals aren't like fighting for that one we want women's slaughter, people's slaughter.
- 16:59Emeal Zwayne: People's slaughter.
- 17:00Emeal Zwayne: Oh boy, look at what we're laughing at.
- 17:04Ray Comfort: This was slaughter.
- 17:05Emeal Zwayne: All right, friends, we have been looking at some of the commandments, as I mentioned last time, that we haven't touched on yet in the 200 almost episodes oh, over 200.
- 17:15Emeal Zwayne: Yeah yeah, yeah, wow, 300,000 downloads.
- 17:18Emeal Zwayne: Oh yeah, praise the Lord, thank you guys.
- 17:20Ray Comfort: I'm trying to reach the husband.
- 17:21Emeal Zwayne: All right.
- 17:22Emeal Zwayne: Exodus 2013.
- 17:24Emeal Zwayne: Amen.
- 17:26Mark Spence: You shall not murder.
- 17:30Emeal Zwayne: You know, guys, this is the one commandment that people will always go to.
- 17:35Ray Comfort: You're going to get a yaw.
- 17:37Emeal Zwayne: Yaw.
- 17:37Ray Comfort: Yaw.
- 17:37Ray Comfort: So you know, guys, yaw.
- 17:38Emeal Zwayne: How yaw done.
- 17:39Emeal Zwayne: It's the one commandment that people will typically go to when we confront them with the commandments or before we do, and they'll typically say, well, I've never murdered anyone.
- 17:51Ray Comfort: I got a guy that had Stop yeah, freak me out what yes he had Tell us.
- 17:56Ray Comfort: Tell the people I just asked has he ever killed anyone?
- 17:59Ray Comfort: He actually confessed it.
- 18:00Ray Comfort: Yes, he could tell, yeah, that he had.
- 18:04Ray Comfort: He was guilty of murder.
- 18:05Ray Comfort: He says can I be forgiven?
- 18:06Ray Comfort: Oh, it was very heavy Somewhere on YouTube.
- 18:10Ray Comfort: Did you cut that interview?
- 18:11Emeal Zwayne: short.
- 18:11Emeal Zwayne: No, no, I didn't, yeah, but you know it's never ending, it seems, the stories that you continue to hear.
- 18:22Emeal Zwayne: I just watched a video that came up as I was just preparing for this, about a boy that murdered his mom, and I'm sitting there looking at this young man.
- 18:36Emeal Zwayne: He was being interrogated, you know, by the police officer.
- 18:38Emeal Zwayne: He was 17.
- 18:40Emeal Zwayne: And he was adopted by this woman.
- 18:43Emeal Zwayne: He was a single mom and he put an axe to her head while she was sleeping and he's sitting there and they're interrogating him.
- 18:52Emeal Zwayne: and they didn't have enough evidence to arrest him the first time, so they let him go and they started to do some more investigation and they discovered he had taken down the security cameras, or around the house, inside, outside he threw them in the river.
- 19:06Emeal Zwayne: They were able to, through the phone, recognize that he lied because he said he called from the house, but he called by from the lake, rather down by the house.
- 19:14Emeal Zwayne: And so then that's what made them go and dive into the lake and they discovered the cameras.
- 19:19Emeal Zwayne: And then it just all started cameras, yeah, he took the security cameras and threw them in the lake after, yeah, after he had murdered her.
- 19:26Emeal Zwayne: You know he had made up this whole story.
- 19:27Emeal Zwayne: I don't know how it happened.
- 19:28Emeal Zwayne: I, we both, were taking naps and I woke up and she's dead, you know.
- 19:31Emeal Zwayne: But but the second time they brought him in, what, what really just kind of gave me the chills, was when he, he said to them hey, is this gonna like, is this gonna ruin my life?
- 19:43Emeal Zwayne: Because I have plans, I want to go to college, I want to do this Like no thought about what he did.
- 19:49Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, you know, sociopath, yeah.
- 19:52Mark Spence: Well, that's very similar to abortion.
- 19:54Mark Spence: Why women get abortions.
- 19:56Mark Spence: Is this going to ruin my life, right?
- 19:58Mark Spence: You know it used to be.
- 19:59Mark Spence: You know when I'd go through the commandments.
- 20:00Mark Spence: You know we're quick to talk about murder and we segue into hatred.
- 20:04Mark Spence: If you've had hatred, treat someone unjust, anger.
- 20:07Mark Spence: Now I bring an abortion almost without fail.
- 20:11Mark Spence: You know Ray said that he had the chance to share the gospel with someone who's actually murdered someone.
- 20:16Mark Spence: But we all, if we just kind of pause, probably no murder, right?
- 20:20Mark Spence: Because one out of every four women have had an abortion in the United States.
- 20:25Mark Spence: So I want to prick the conscience with abortion from now on when I engage in evangelistic endeavor.
- 20:33Ray Comfort: Question how do you do that without digressing too much from where you want to go?
- 20:37Ray Comfort: Because as you're bringing up a wound, you're digging into a wound.
- 20:42Mark Spence: Yeah, well, I say it in passing.
- 20:44Mark Spence: In the same way where, when I'm talking about lying, you know, lying that includes white lies, exaggerations, half truths and fibs, okay, murder, that includes hatred of the heart, it also includes abortion.
- 20:54Mark Spence: And see, I want to see the response.
- 20:58Mark Spence: Right, and now here's the thing.
- 21:00Mark Spence: Right, because when we use the law, it is important to look for that sin inside their life specifically.
- 21:08Mark Spence: Right, what we tend to get accused of are here, they are just going through the commandments, all the commandments.
- 21:12Mark Spence: No, we're actually looking for that commandment that is precious to them, yeah, that they love to violate.
- 21:21Mark Spence: And once I find that I bring the full weight of that commandment down upon their shoulders, to where I want them to say well, what must I do to be saved, right, yeah, now, when we do an open air, it's much different, you know, because we make sure that we always get to the gospel because it's recorded and there's.
- 21:38Mark Spence: You don't know who's listening, yeah, but when we engage in a dialogue, there's sometimes where we don't end up getting to the gospel.
- 21:44Mark Spence: Now, that's what we want to do, that is our aim, but because some people plant in other people water, it's not necessary always if the time doesn't permit itself or the person is just hard hearted against what you're doing to not get to the gospel.
- 21:59Mark Spence: I think we do a disservice when we get to the gospel, when they're not convinced that they are dying of that horrific disease called sin.
- 22:08Mark Spence: Yeah, so stay as long as you need to be going through the commandments until they fill that weight and then get into the gospel.
- 22:17Mark Spence: Now, if they fill it right away.
- 22:18Mark Spence: I remember I was with Ray inside of an airport one time and there was a soldier that was going overseas and the guy right away had mentioned that he had broken the commandments and Ray said so you've lied and you've stolen.
- 22:28Mark Spence: So, yeah, I've broken.
- 22:29Mark Spence: Yes, and Ray quickly then went into the gospel.
- 22:32Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, a lot of the proud grace to the humble, that's exactly it.
- 22:35Ray Comfort: Yeah, I had a thrill yesterday.
- 22:38Ray Comfort: I was talking to a guy and right at the end I said my aim today has been to make your heart palpitate, to bring sweat to your brow, to make your mouth go dry.
- 22:49Ray Comfort: And he looked at me, said my heart is thumping through my chest, oh wow.
- 22:52Ray Comfort: And it's on camera too.
- 22:54Ray Comfort: Yeah, he says you really made me scared and I can see why you did it and I appreciate it.
- 22:58Ray Comfort: It was just beautiful.
- 22:59Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, ray, I love those times when in our videos I've watched you allow someone to smart under their sin.
- 23:07Emeal Zwayne: I love that word where they're just like they're, you know they're starting to boil under it.
- 23:12Emeal Zwayne: And then, man, when you bring in the gospel of grace and that's why, again for years you've been heralding hey, we have to let the law do its work on the conscience.
- 23:23Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, and that's because when you bring in the good news, it makes sense.
- 23:26Emeal Zwayne: And then there isn't this like oh cool, yeah, I'll give this Jesus thing a try.
- 23:29Emeal Zwayne: Great, I'll do God a favor and surrender my life to him.
- 23:32Emeal Zwayne: No, it's like I'm a guilty, hell deserving sinner.
- 23:36Emeal Zwayne: And God did what for me.
- 23:39Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, you know.
- 23:40Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, it's my only mark real quick.
- 23:43Emeal Zwayne: What was that statistic?
- 23:43Mark Spence: you said how many women One out of every four women in America.
- 23:46Mark Spence: What yeah?
- 23:47Emeal Zwayne: 25%.
- 23:51Ray Comfort: It's actually higher if you're a black woman.
- 23:52Ray Comfort: Wow, I feel like women, so so that's crazy, and you know, friends.
- 23:56Emeal Zwayne: on that note, we've released our movie.
- 23:59Emeal Zwayne: What Is it?
- 23:59Emeal Zwayne: So make sure to check it out.
- 24:02Emeal Zwayne: It's on the subject of abortion.
- 24:03Emeal Zwayne: Many of you have watched it already.
- 24:04Emeal Zwayne: You're saying it's the most powerful movie we've produced, and so make sure to check it out.
- 24:07Ray Comfort: It's on.
- 24:08Emeal Zwayne: YouTube.
- 24:08Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, it's on YouTube.
- 24:09Emeal Zwayne: Share it with others.
- 24:11Oscar Navarro: I, too, have shared the gospel with people who have taken life.
- 24:14Oscar Navarro: I want to be careful here, but I do want to use this example.
- 24:17Oscar Navarro: I want to be careful for privacy purposes.
- 24:19Oscar Navarro: So what I'll say is my wife has this amazing opportunity to work at a horse therapy center, and that horse therapy center uses Are you serious?
- 24:30Oscar Navarro: Yes, uses equestrian horses to help children with disabilities, can't walk.
- 24:36Ray Comfort: Oh, horse therapy.
- 24:37Ray Comfort: See, I was thinking of a horse lying on its back on the couch.
- 24:39Ray Comfort: There we go.
- 24:43Mark Spence: Only a raised mind would go there, absolutely.
- 24:45Emeal Zwayne: Well, and Oscar has cried wolf so many times with his dad.
- 24:47Ray Comfort: He just don't know Horse therapy.
- 24:49Ray Comfort: He's positioned as a pony.
- 24:56Oscar Navarro: There's a joke there somewhere.
- 24:57Oscar Navarro: So anyway, they help children with disabilities and a major portion of what they do is help veterans, and many of the veterans that come through the program struggle with a lot of guilt.
- 25:09Oscar Navarro: And my wife is amazing.
- 25:12Oscar Navarro: Every now and then a few times now men will approach her because she knows, they know she's a Christian and they'll start to probe and ask questions and she'll be like you should really talk to my husband.
- 25:23Oscar Navarro: And so I've been able to sit down with these guys and share the gospel with them through this thing, this one particular individual we were talking through the gospel, and he ends up confessing to me that in war, desert storm, that he took the life of 12 year old, a 13 year old, a 15 year old.
- 25:41Oscar Navarro: Not only did he do it, but, because of in the theater of war, he did it with anger and pride.
- 25:47Oscar Navarro: He was told to do it by his commanders.
- 25:52Oscar Navarro: This is what we need to do.
- 25:53Oscar Navarro: And these guys come back with all of this shame and guilt, and then, on top of that, they've got like all they have is people saying, no, no, that's great, you're a hero.
- 26:03Oscar Navarro: But something in their conscience is telling them that they did was wrong, that it's not the way the world intended to be.
- 26:11Oscar Navarro: And so, whether you're a veteran of war, whether you've committed murder a friend or family member, or whether it's abortion man, we all need the gospel, and the beauty of God's portion is that people were so confused because, when Jesus showed up, the kind of like people he ran with were prostitutes and tax collectors.
- 26:40Oscar Navarro: They were not the people that you would expect to see.
- 26:43Oscar Navarro: And there's one particular story in the New Testament that I cling to in moments like that, which is the story of this man's walking from one desert city to another.
- 26:53Oscar Navarro: And this man is a murderer.
- 26:56Oscar Navarro: He was paid to drag Christians out of their home, women and children, and kill them.
- 27:02Oscar Navarro: And on his road he meets Jesus.
- 27:06Oscar Navarro: And Jesus takes that terrorist, that murderer, and he converts him, he saves his soul and then he makes him one of the most prolific church planters and authors of the New Testament, who are you talking about?
- 27:22Mark Spence: Of course, this is Paul, right.
- 27:25Oscar Navarro: And so the point of this is that God's not done with you.
- 27:28Oscar Navarro: Ray says it all the time, like if there's still breath in you.
- 27:32Oscar Navarro: God is not done with you.
- 27:33Oscar Navarro: No matter what you have done, god intends to use you.
- 27:37Oscar Navarro: He will use you for his glory.
- 27:42Oscar Navarro: Prostitutes, tax collectors, murderers these are the people that God's used.
- 27:47Ray Comfort: Amen, that's Mark that says that.
- 27:49Ray Comfort: Oh sorry.
- 27:50Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, you know, it's important to remember that, very, very important, because Paul the Apostle, like you said, he was putting Christians to death.
- 28:03Ray Comfort: He was on the road to damnation when Jesus stopped him.
- 28:06Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, I mean, he was the one at whose feet they cast their tunics and killed Stephen, and he was giving consent.
- 28:14Emeal Zwayne: But yeah, guys, I mean murder, it's an epidemic.
- 28:19Emeal Zwayne: In 2019, an estimated 475,000 people worldwide were victims of homicide murder.
- 28:27Ray Comfort: And in the US.
- 28:27Emeal Zwayne: According to one website, in the US it's only 50% success rate in homicides yeah, or success rate yeah in fact, between 2022 and 2023, over 8,000 people so far 2023, has been over have been murdered in the US, Not including abortion.
- 28:44Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, exactly, and that's right, Mark, because we leave that one out.
- 28:48Ray Comfort: And that's when it's against the law to murder people.
- 28:50Ray Comfort: Can you imagine if law was withdrawn and what would happen?
- 28:54Ray Comfort: Even on LA freeways, everyone's allowed a gatling gun in the front of their cars.
- 28:58Ray Comfort: Yeah, and you could take the life of anyone.
- 28:59Ray Comfort: That really annoyed you.
- 29:00Ray Comfort: We would.
- 29:00Ray Comfort: You made it to be wiped out in 24 hours.
- 29:02Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah, and you know it's in the human heart to be that way.
- 29:09Emeal Zwayne: You think of what it says in 1 John, 3, 10 to 12.
- 29:12Emeal Zwayne: It says In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest.
- 29:16Emeal Zwayne: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.
- 29:20Emeal Zwayne: For this is a message that you heard from the beginning that we should love one another, not as Cain, who is of the wicked one and murdered his brother.
- 29:28Emeal Zwayne: And why did he murder him?
- 29:30Emeal Zwayne: Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
- 29:33Emeal Zwayne: And so scripture is harkening back to the first murder that was ever committed, and it's contrasting what we should be like from the way that Cain was.
- 29:44Emeal Zwayne: And I mean, it really comes down to that.
- 29:46Emeal Zwayne: Mark, you referenced it earlier, but Jesus talked about the spiritual elements of the law Matthew 5, 21 to 22.
- 29:54Emeal Zwayne: Ray, you raised thy hand.
- 29:57Ray Comfort: I wonder if Cain was shocked with the result of what he did to us, because no one had died.
- 30:01Ray Comfort: I don't think no one had been murdered.
- 30:04Ray Comfort: Oh, and he just anger consumed him.
- 30:06Ray Comfort: What he hit him on the head was something I don't know.
- 30:09Emeal Zwayne: The scripture A rock A rock.
- 30:11Ray Comfort: And um he died.
- 30:12Ray Comfort: I wonder if he was shocked that his brother died.
- 30:15Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, I know, he's a head case Too soon.
- 30:19Ray Comfort: Rock contest.
- 30:21Emeal Zwayne: But yeah, I think you know the things that end up leading to murder.
- 30:28Emeal Zwayne: They always begin in the heart.
- 30:30Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, amen, you don't just.
- 30:32Emeal Zwayne: You know, you're just not having a nice day whistling walking down the road, oh pfft.
- 30:35Emeal Zwayne: And just someone walking your way.
- 30:36Emeal Zwayne: No, we try walking towards South Central LA.
- 30:39Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, that's true, maybe it is a sport in some places.
- 30:42Emeal Zwayne: But Matthew 5, 21 to 22, you have heard that it was said to those of old you shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.
- 30:49Emeal Zwayne: But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment, and whoever says to his brother Rocka, shall be in danger of the counsel, but whoever says you, fool, shall be in danger of hellfire.
- 31:02Oscar Navarro: I gotta tell you this is one of the most hunting verses in the New Testament.
- 31:08Oscar Navarro: The way that Jesus ratchets up the law to convict us all.
- 31:15Oscar Navarro: So many people want to be like.
- 31:16Oscar Navarro: Oh you know, god in the Old Testament was so full of wrath and God in the New Testament is Jesus and he's so full of love.
- 31:23Oscar Navarro: But man read the New Testament it's like he turns the volume up on love, for sure, but he also turns the volume way up on judgment and on the law.
- 31:34Oscar Navarro: And this is the thing is that this verse, like it, puts us all in the seat of the murderer who is not guilty.
- 31:43Oscar Navarro: We are all utterly guilty.
- 31:45Oscar Navarro: When I read this, I'm just like what can I do?
- 31:49Ray Comfort: And Jesus didn't change anything Says a Messiah Isaiah, isaiah 42, I think it is he shall magnify the law and make it honorable.
- 31:57Ray Comfort: He gives us a magnifying glass to see what it actually says.
- 32:01Ray Comfort: And that's when you just talk about the volume coming up.
- 32:04Ray Comfort: That's what he was doing, yeah.
- 32:07Emeal Zwayne: And you know, it comes down to recognizing what we're capable of as people, apart from God and because of our sinful nature.
- 32:18Emeal Zwayne: Have you?
- 32:18Ray Comfort: ever found murder in your heart as a Christian.
- 32:21Oscar Navarro: Have you ever driven the 91 freeway?
- 32:23Oscar Navarro: Yeah, I usually say that that's going to say that really brings it out.
- 32:26Emeal Zwayne: And it does not.
- 32:27Ray Comfort: Yeah, you think.
- 32:27Ray Comfort: Praise the Lord, I love you, jesus, I love you, don't worry.
- 32:32Oscar Navarro: Yeah, it's insane you know For those of you who don't know, we live in Southern California and the 91 freeway.
- 32:38Oscar Navarro: There's this little section called the orange crush which I've heard people say before it is like the worst designed spot, like five mile stretch of freeway in all of America.
- 32:48Oscar Navarro: And it's just you can be driving at two o'clock in the morning and you're going to be in two hours of traffic For whatever reason.
- 32:54Oscar Navarro: It's just an utter nightmare.
- 32:56Oscar Navarro: And this is you'll every now and then hear us talk about the 91.
- 32:59Ray Comfort: Every Saturday I get up on the 605, I've got to cross I think it's the 91 and I've got to get across five lanes in 20 seconds and I get on it 30 miles an hour, my little V-dub 35 miles an hour.
- 33:11Ray Comfort: I've got to get to 70 in that thing and I know behind me are a whole stack of SUVs yelling out get out of my way and I'm saying please, let me live, let me live.
- 33:21Ray Comfort: I was like go across and yeah, I have what you're saying, but I imagine you playing Frogger.
- 33:26Emeal Zwayne: It's almost like that it is yeah.
- 33:29Oscar Navarro: Yeah.
- 33:30Emeal Zwayne: And, look, I think it would be good for us to camp out a bit on how do we proactively love, so that it, honestly speaking, of order the guy who said Alexander's phone's off?
- 33:46Ray Comfort: Yeah, I thought mine was off.
- 33:47Ray Comfort: Yeah, it makes me think it's not really loud.
- 33:50Ray Comfort: Oh, it's Stona's.
- 33:52Ray Comfort: Given a quarter of a million dollars.
- 33:53Ray Comfort: Oh, is that okay, whatever.
- 33:57Emeal Zwayne: Yeah.
- 33:57Emeal Zwayne: So I think that we need to talk about how can we proactively walk in love so that we then by default proactively isolate ourselves or, I'm sorry, insulate ourselves from giving into that murder's hatred in our heart.
- 34:15Emeal Zwayne: And I think first Sean 420 puts it well if someone says I love God and hates his brother, he is a liar, for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
- 34:30Emeal Zwayne: And I remember years ago, as a newer believer, talking to this young lady who was a part of a Bible study that I was a leader of, and she was just openly talking about how she hated someone and she turned out to be a false convert, and I think that's always a good indicator.
- 34:48Emeal Zwayne: Like it's one thing to struggle with feelings of hatred, it's another thing to justify them, give into them and walk in them.
- 34:56Ray Comfort: Right, hate it when people do that.
- 35:00Emeal Zwayne: Your eyes are full of hate.
- 35:01Emeal Zwayne: 64.
- 35:02Emeal Zwayne: What number was he?
- 35:05Emeal Zwayne: I always forget his number.
- 35:06Ray Comfort: Your eyes are full of hate.
- 35:07Ray Comfort: 41.
- 35:08Ray Comfort: What is he?
- 35:08Ray Comfort: 41.
- 35:09Ray Comfort: Yes, that's good, that's inflation.
- 35:10Ray Comfort: That you hit, that's from being her when he was rowing the boat.
- 35:15Ray Comfort: Oscar, please tell me you've watched.
- 35:16Oscar Navarro: Yeah, I have watched, been her.
- 35:17Oscar Navarro: Yeah, I've watched the great, great, great grandfather.
- 35:19Oscar Navarro: I'm going to watch it with him on the old black and white.
- 35:22Ray Comfort: No, I'm joking, I'm joking oh good, it's Calvin Houston.
- 35:27Oscar Navarro: You know we've talked often on this podcast about the upside down kingdom, and I think this is a good reminder to us about how different God's kingdom is for the rest of the world and how, in him bringing about the kingdom of God that is so upside down, that is so in reverse of the kingdom of man, how it's going to naturally cause us to continually realize the areas of our heart in which we need grace.
- 35:54Oscar Navarro: And so it's funny that we talked about driving the wrong way when in different countries because that's actually a lot like one of my favorite scholars in his commentary on the upside down kingdom uses exactly that.
- 36:06Oscar Navarro: He says imagine all the Christians woke up one day and was like let's start, we're here in the United States, but let's start driving backwards on the wrong way.
- 36:14Oscar Navarro: Streets, right, they'd start just mucking everything up making a muck of it.
- 36:21Mark Spence: All Right, that's pretty un-American.
- 36:23Oscar Navarro: You have to go the extra kilometer.
- 36:25Oscar Navarro: That's right.
- 36:26Oscar Navarro: And it's similar like my bike ride, like my bike ride through Shuffield, like we were going the wrong way and it was just.
- 36:34Oscar Navarro: It was a mess.
- 36:35Oscar Navarro: And here's the thing is that when we live as Christians in an upside down way, doing things so differently than the world around us, it's going to cause friction.
- 36:46Oscar Navarro: We're going to get into accidents, we're going to be bumping into people, and what's going to happen naturally is that we are going to get upset.
- 36:54Oscar Navarro: We're going to be like don't you see, you're going the wrong way.
- 36:56Oscar Navarro: This is the way of Jesus.
- 36:59Oscar Navarro: You're going the wrong way and by nature, by our nature, we're going to get angry.
- 37:05Oscar Navarro: And so what do we do with that?
- 37:08Oscar Navarro: You know what do we do with that?
- 37:10Oscar Navarro: What we need to do is realize that God is continually at work, revealing to us our need for grace, even in the midst of us being in his kingdom.
- 37:22Ray Comfort: Oh, right, that's great.
- 37:23Ray Comfort: I heard something.
- 37:24Ray Comfort: Sorry, I got to say this.
- 37:25Ray Comfort: It's very important.
- 37:26Ray Comfort: I heard a joint where a wife called her husband says honey, be careful.
- 37:29Ray Comfort: I've heard there's a guy going the wrong way and the 405.
- 37:31Ray Comfort: He said what do you mean A guy going the wrong way?
- 37:34Emeal Zwayne: He's gone the wrong way.
- 37:35Emeal Zwayne: It was him.
- 37:37Emeal Zwayne: Go ahead, Mark.
- 37:40Ray Comfort: That was so important to get it out.
- 37:42Mark Spence: Randy Smith was asking the question how did we get here as a society, as a country?
- 37:47Mark Spence: And he said well, we laugh at the crude put downs and we call it comedy.
- 37:50Mark Spence: We treat others rudely, with insensitivity to their perspective, and we call it debate.
- 37:56Mark Spence: We destroy others property in the streets, and we call it justifiable anger or justifiable celebration.
- 38:03Mark Spence: We demonize our opponents and we call it free speech.
- 38:07Mark Spence: We gossip and slander others and we call it news.
- 38:10Mark Spence: We attack people of faith in the most vicious ways and we call it liberation, freedom of religion.
- 38:18Mark Spence: We kill babies and we call it choice.
- 38:20Mark Spence: This is how we got here.
- 38:22Mark Spence: This is what is happening.
- 38:23Mark Spence: We're kind of desensitized to it.
- 38:25Mark Spence: And Henry Ward Beecher?
- 38:26Mark Spence: He said if thoughts of hatred were thunder and lightning, there would be a storm over the whole earth all year round, for hatred fills the land.
- 38:34Emeal Zwayne: Wow yeah it abounds, and it's Such a clear indicator that we are fallen.
- 38:45Emeal Zwayne: It's such a clear indicator that Satan is alive and well, that the fallen nature is at work, that we're lost.
- 38:55Emeal Zwayne: When you contrast it with the sweetness of love, I mean, what is it with those videos that we'll see online where someone is doing an act of kindness for a person, just taking their shoes off and giving them to a homeless person who doesn't have shoes?
- 39:13Emeal Zwayne: Like something were moved, like something in us goes Right, right, talks about.
- 39:17Mark Spence: you know it makes the news when somebody returns a wallet.
- 39:19Mark Spence: Yeah a human being did something good.
- 39:22Ray Comfort: Whoa, that's national news.
- 39:24Emeal Zwayne: It's so true, yeah, and we need to get back to that place where we recognize that the gospel is the only hope for this world.
- 39:34Emeal Zwayne: You know, I was so full of hatred before I got saved.
- 39:37Ray Comfort: You're kidding.
- 39:39Emeal Zwayne: No, seriously, yeah, I was you didn't know that.
- 39:42Ray Comfort: No, I didn't.
- 39:42Ray Comfort: Mark was a burglar.
- 39:45Emeal Zwayne: You were.
- 39:47Ray Comfort: Mark.
- 39:47Ray Comfort: Mark landed the steel James and Oscar was Oscar the atheist, and I'm talking to new creatures here.
- 39:53Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, well, remember I had my bedroom walls and my closet doors were covered with posters because there were holes in them, because I would get so mad and just start punching them.
- 40:01Emeal Zwayne: Really, yeah, I mean, there were times.
- 40:03Emeal Zwayne: I just had this.
- 40:05Ray Comfort: Oh, there is.
- 40:05Ray Comfort: This is just gonna say are you all finished, Show us on Oscar what you would do with the wall Ah.
- 40:14Emeal Zwayne: But yeah, you know, I really was and it just it consumed me and you know I would get in fights.
- 40:23Emeal Zwayne: I one time I broke my knuckle in a fight in the bathroom because this boy we're on a bus.
- 40:28Oscar Navarro: What was her name?
- 40:31Emeal Zwayne: We were on a bus going on a field trip and some boy said your mom wears army boots.
- 40:37Ray Comfort: Is that?
- 40:38Emeal Zwayne: what stood up anger in you.
- 40:39Emeal Zwayne: Oh well, I said, your mom wears high heel pumps.
- 40:41Emeal Zwayne: Oh no, your dad wears high heel pumps.
- 40:43Emeal Zwayne: Is that what you said back then?
- 40:44Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah, and then.
- 40:46Emeal Zwayne: This is what happened.
- 40:47Mark Spence: Yeah, your mom wears army boots, your dad wears high heel pumps and you were just upset that he was like he knew things that he shouldn't know Too soon.
- 40:56Emeal Zwayne: Too soon we get off the bus, we get off the bus and I think we got a little fine.
- 41:02Emeal Zwayne: Anyway, the next morning I go in the bathroom, you know, I see him and he said something to me again and we just I just lost it on him.
- 41:10Emeal Zwayne: I mean I would, I would go aggro when I would fight in the world and arms flailing fist, and just You'd make that noise, yeah.
- 41:20Ray Comfort: Please, Oscar.
- 41:23Emeal Zwayne: Anyway, I ended up finding out later I broke my knuckle, you know, in that fight.
- 41:26Emeal Zwayne: But yeah, I just I had this thing in me where I would just explode, you know.
- 41:31Emeal Zwayne: And then Christ invaded me and the immediate distinction in my heart, just this love filled me for the people that I hated and detested.
- 41:41Emeal Zwayne: I mean Mark, you know, trent Douglas and I we were enemies in high school hated this guy and we ended up becoming pastors together, you know.
- 41:48Ray Comfort: I felt his love take the sword out of my hand.
- 41:50Ray Comfort: I think that's similar to what Charlton Houston said in the end of the year, and that's what Jesus does.
- 41:57Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah, amen.
- 41:59Emeal Zwayne: And you know, I think it goes back to what it says in Genesis nine six whoever sheds man's blood by man, his blood shall be shed for in the image of God he made man.
- 42:08Emeal Zwayne: I mean, that's key too.
- 42:11Emeal Zwayne: And logo dayo and logo dayo yeah, and logo dayo and logo dayo yeah.
- 42:17Oscar Navarro: Yeah, all right man.
- 42:18Emeal Zwayne: No, it's with me.
- 42:19Emeal Zwayne: But you know MacArthur said to take the life of a fellow human being is to assault the sacredness of the image of God, and that's why murder is heinous, because you are obliterating the image of God that is replaced in another person.
- 42:33Emeal Zwayne: That's key.
- 42:35Oscar Navarro: That's key to understanding the moral aspect and that's also key to understanding the gospel in the midst of all of this.
- 42:40Oscar Navarro: The moral aspect is that why is it not wrong for me to take the life of that delicious chicken I had for lunch the other day?
- 42:46Oscar Navarro: Why is it not wrong for me to, you know, take the life of a cow to eat it?
- 42:51Oscar Navarro: Why?
- 42:51Oscar Navarro: Because those things aren't made in the image of God, but we human beings are the only thing in all of creation that bear the image of God, that have the possibility to reflect his glory into the world and back to himself.
- 43:07Oscar Navarro: And here's where the gospel is is that God, being the creator of us, is the only one that has the right to take a life.
- 43:19Oscar Navarro: He who gives life is the only one that has the right to take a life, and in his son, jesus Christ, who had the right to take our lives instead, he gave his life for us so that, all the times that we commit murder in our hearts, we can be forgiven and set free from that enslaving, reigning power of sin to live, to love our neighbors and to love God.
- 43:45Ray Comfort: And, as I felt his voice, take the sword out of my hand.
- 43:48Ray Comfort: Who was it?
- 43:49Ray Comfort: You'd have been her, oh that's right.
- 43:51Emeal Zwayne: Oh, that's right.
- 43:52Ray Comfort: I remember that.
- 43:52Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, you know, mark, you will often engage with people on this when they say you say you shall not murder.
- 43:59Emeal Zwayne: Look at all the people God killed.
- 44:01Emeal Zwayne: And it is very important for the Christian to learn how to push that truth that, listen, god is the author of life.
- 44:09Emeal Zwayne: He gives it, he takes it.
- 44:11Emeal Zwayne: And, by the way, what's wrong with that?
- 44:14Emeal Zwayne: I mean you're saying morality is relative.
- 44:17Mark Spence: Yeah, multiple angles you could take on that.
- 44:18Mark Spence: By what standard do you accuse God of wrongdoing?
- 44:20Mark Spence: I mean, if we're just evolved monkeys, you're saying monkey say murder bad, but there's no objective standard by which you accuse God of wrongdoing.
- 44:31Mark Spence: And then, if murder is so bad, just curious, how do you feel about abortion?
- 44:37Mark Spence: And usually these are the same people that say well, I believe it's a woman's right to choose and respond with all right.
- 44:43Mark Spence: So a woman can choose to do this, but God can't.
- 44:45Mark Spence: But, truth be told, as race says, we're all on death row.
- 44:49Mark Spence: God has commanded the death sentence upon all of us, but we, as Christians, it's different.
- 44:54Mark Spence: I don't remember who said it, but there's a lyric that goes something like now, as a Christian, I see the world, I wanna see the world through the holes in your hands, and that's very important.
- 45:06Mark Spence: That to have compassion upon the world, we need to see the world the way the Lord sees the world and he has compassion upon the world and upon people.
- 45:18Mark Spence: They're sheep without a shepherd.
- 45:19Mark Spence: And but by the grace of God, there goes, you and I.
- 45:23Emeal Zwayne: I don't know if you guys remember that one video in which I was sharing the gospel with a Catholic man in Huntington and he asked me about murder and I think he was a veteran and I began to share with him about God's heart and how even murders can be forgiven.
- 45:39Emeal Zwayne: I talked about Paul the apostle and others and I remember him saying he's like I'm beginning to feel my soul being set free, and it really moved me because I think there are a lot of people who have so many misconceptions, not just about murder but about and it's important, Oscar, I like the point you made earlier that sometimes there's two sides to that coin.
- 46:04Emeal Zwayne: There are those who were in just wars and that took life in that regard and scripture doesn't condemn that but yet they could be in a just war and take lives that could have maybe justly have been taken, but they have murder in their heart and that's guilt before God in that regard.
- 46:26Emeal Zwayne: But nonetheless, no matter what anyone has done, I think there are a lot of people that have these misconceptions in different religions or even some cults or some that would claim to be Christian, and they're just bound because they think there's no hope for me, there's no way I can be forgiven.
- 46:40Emeal Zwayne: I mean, Paul the apostle called himself the chief of sinners and he was.
- 46:45Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, he was involved in the murder of Christians and look what God did.
- 46:50Emeal Zwayne: And he said he was an example, a pattern to others.
- 46:52Emeal Zwayne: If he can be saved, anyone can be.
- 46:55Emeal Zwayne: So, friends, there's hope, no matter what you've done, how much sin you've committed, maybe even listening to this podcast, like some of you have told us, half for a long time that aren't believers, that aren't Christians.
- 47:06Emeal Zwayne: We hope that today will be the day that you recognize the beauty of the gospel, that there is no sin that is beyond the grace of God, and if you repent and place your faith in him and receive his gift of grace, you will have redemption and transformation.
- 47:19Emeal Zwayne: So we hope you do that today.
- 47:21Emeal Zwayne: All right, friends.
- 47:23Emeal Zwayne: Ray got nervous because he thought I was gonna end serious.
