- 0:00I believe the Mets are going to give him a significant.
- 0:02They're going to have a ton of money to spend.
- 0:04Why not put it in one of the top three offensive players in the
- 0:15league? We're going to be looking at
- 0:16Aaron Judge and saying that he can't win the big game, Michael
- 0:20Jordan said. I played 82 games.
- 0:22You don't see LeBron doing that. A.
- 0:24Game where you got to go before? I told you, giant feet Saquon
- 0:29Barkley at this Let's do it.
- 1:29You're listening to Jabba and the mouth.
- 1:32Mouth. Yes.

- 2:43631-672-3108 is the number to call.
- 2:48And yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's been a crazy day.
- 2:50Aaron Rodgers, as we will get into it a little bit later in
- 2:54the show, is now a Pittsburgh Steeler.
- 2:59Let's jump for joy. What is that spell for the
- 3:02Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh, I would say Pittsburgh Penguins,
- 3:05the Pittsburgh Steelers, You know what it spells?
- 3:08It spells LOSER. What is that spell?
- 3:13Speedy, loser, loser. That's what they're going to be
- 3:17this year. I don't know what the Pittsburgh
- 3:19Steelers are doing, but hey, at least they got their
- 3:21quarterback. And it's not Mason Rudolph.
- 3:24Yes, it's 86°. And it's been a crazy, crazy
- 3:27week for me. And it's not just the weather.
- 3:29I was going to the weather, but it's the world.
- 3:32It's the world and what we are watching.
- 3:34And I'm not going to get into politics and I'm not going to
- 3:37get into any of that crazy religion crap.
- 3:39No, I'm going to get into the Errol Marx life.
- 3:43And my life is, it's still, it stands still because obviously
- 3:47I'm going on vacation in about a week and a half.
- 3:49I'm going to go to Bermuda. Hopefully I get caught up in
- 3:52that damn triangle. I'm going to enjoy the the
- 3:55wonderful beaches, which I can't even go in the water because I'm
- 3:59so deathly afraid of sharks. So you won't see the Big E in
- 4:03the water. I will have my feet just in the
- 4:06water enjoying the aftershave of of my feet because I shaved my
- 4:10feet, ladies and gentlemen. And by the way, I want to, I
- 4:12want to say something for people out there.
- 4:14Any guy that doesn't shave their feet, their hands or their
- 4:19chest, shame on you. Because the first thing a woman
- 4:23looks at as far as if you're barefooted is your feet.
- 4:28If it's hairy, if it's dirty, and they look at your hands,
- 4:31they look at your nails and they look how hairy your hands are.
- 4:33They don't like that. They don't like to see, they
- 4:36don't want to, they don't want to shake a werewolf's hands.
- 4:38OK, so that's all I'm going to say about that.
- 4:41So when you, when you're approaching a woman or you're
- 4:43looking or you're trying to go out there and meet a woman, make
- 4:46sure you, you take care of yourself.
- 4:48And Speedy doesn't do very much of that.
- 4:50So we try to tell Speedy over and over and over again that you
- 4:54have to trim yourself. As we always say, we have a
- 4:57bunch of drops for him and he says why should I have to trim
- 5:01and he says I don't care about the ladies, all I care about is
- 5:03myself. Do you not say that, Speedy?
- 5:05Nathan cares about the ladies. But what about you?
- 5:07You care about Nathan, cares about the ladies.
- 5:10Well, that's to me, think you. Care about the ladies too, right
- 5:13Errol? He definitely does.
- 5:15That speed he's been caring about the ladies.
- 5:18He definitely does and you know, my my producer forgot to put in
- 5:21the the wire in this this drop right here and unfortunately I
- 5:25had no drop. So I had the perfect drop for
- 5:27speedy and and the plug wasn't in.
- 5:29But nevertheless, Speedy does like to reach out to women on
- 5:34Instagram. He has a ton of them.
- 5:36I think he's got like 12 of them lined up.
- 5:38He speaks to every single one of them every single day.
- 5:42He remarks to every single post that they have.
- 5:44I mean, Speedy's the real ladies man, as we always say.
- 5:47He keeps saying Nathan's always about the ladies man.
- 5:50Well, ladies and gentlemen, the speedster loves his women,
- 5:54right? Speedy?
- 5:55What would you rather a blonde or brunette?
- 5:56Don't care, You don't care. What do you mean you don't care?
- 5:59Don't care Blonde or blonde, I don't care.
- 6:02You got to pick one. No, I don't.
- 6:03You got to pick one. No, I don't.
- 6:04What do you like? Large or thin?
- 6:07You like large women? Do you like large women?
- 6:10I like people. That are nice.
- 6:12So you, so you're going to tell me if if a beastly woman was
- 6:17hanging out with you, you would like her and you, I don't know,
- 6:19make out with her? Is that what you're saying?
- 6:22You do You know, You know he you know what it is, Fish.
- 6:25He knows what I'm talking about. He just doesn't want to answer
- 6:28it because he's ashamed of it. I don't know why he's ashamed of
- 6:30it. I'll tell you this.
- 6:31Question, Speedy. How do you know that one of
- 6:34those women aren't Kevin Durant on one of his fake Instagram
- 6:38accounts? Speedy, probably.
- 6:39Has not know that, yeah, Speedy makes fun, you know, fish.
- 6:42Speedy makes fun of Kevin Durant with all his Twitter accounts.
- 6:45Could you imagine if Speeder Speeder has about like 7 or 8
- 6:49Instagram accounts and he's talking to multiple women?
- 6:52I, I I could see speedy doing that.
- 6:54I really could. I mean he has different
- 6:57pictures. What's his fake name?
- 6:59Too legit to quit, that's what I didn't.
- 7:01That would be one of his posts a year.
- 7:03Ago it was. It was a James Greenbush.
- 7:07No, no. That would be his porno name.
- 7:09That would be his porno name, yes.
- 7:11You know if anybody doesn't know how to discover what your porno
- 7:13name is, it's very simple. Your middle name, if you have a
- 7:16middle name, you use your middle name and the 1st St. you lived
- 7:20on. So just think about it.
- 7:23If you ever want to pick a porno name, if you're going to be in a
- 7:26porn or you're reaching out to one of these porn organization,
- 7:30you got to use your middle name and the streets you lived on.
- 7:33So just think about it. You post it up, you guys get
- 7:36posted up on a board. I would love to see what your
- 7:39porno name would be. So mine would be Joseph
- 7:42Washington. That would be my porno name.
- 7:44Oh, Kevin, says Michael. Roll Stone.
- 7:48That's good. Mine is Samuel Ocean.
- 7:51Samuel Ocean, Frank Ocean. I like Frank Ocean.
- 7:54I like that. Maybe that's how he got his
- 7:56name. Speedies would be James
- 8:00Greenbush. He was his middle name is James
- 8:02and Greenbush. So it is pretty funny.
- 8:04And if and guys, if you ever want all the people out there on
- 8:07all the social medias, if you want to post it up on our
- 8:11different social medias, we'll definitely read it out.
- 8:13We'll get all your names and we'll stack it up and we'll take
- 8:16the top ten. We'll take the top ten porno
- 8:20names and we'll see. We'll vote on the next show on
- 8:23Monday. We'll vote on the Monday show
- 8:25who has the best porno name. That would be cool.
- 8:27And we'll send you here's even better, we'll send you a job and
- 8:32a mouth T-shirt. That sounds cool.
- 8:34What about that? That'll be cool.
- 8:36So we'll work on that anyways, yeah, it's been a crazy 1 and I,
- 8:40I'll just say this before we get into the show, we have a great
- 8:43show lined up for you. I will tell you this today I was
- 8:47very upset. So I've been dealing with, I've
- 8:51been dealing with throat problems.
- 8:52All right, so I, I have, there's a couple of things I have, but I
- 8:57have tonsillitis. OK, so over the last couple of
- 9:00days, I was I went to a Vietnamese restaurant and I
- 9:04thought I was having an allergic reaction, so I rushed myself to
- 9:08an urgent care. So I had to wait on line.
- 9:10By the way, never go to an urgent care at 9:30 at night
- 9:13because it takes about an hour and a half to go and see a
- 9:15doctor or a nurse nurse practitioner.
- 9:18OK, so I got in there and she told me I have tonsillitis and
- 9:22she she tested me for COVID. She tested me for I don't have
- 9:27to everything strap everything in the book.
- 9:30She she tested me for it came up negative.
- 9:32All right, so then she looked at me.
- 9:34I was getting puss in my tonsils.
- 9:36She says you have tonsillitis. So she sends me home with well,
- 9:40I had to go to ACVSI had to get myself an antibiotic and it
- 9:44hasn't been working. So the other day I have a call
- 9:48to one of my friends. I'm not going to mention any
- 9:50names. I don't want to get him in
- 9:51trouble. And he's like, he's like a
- 9:54pharmacist, OK? And he gave me some steroids.
- 9:57Not the steroids that get you jacked up, guys.
- 9:59The steroids that helps, you know, helps your throat and gave
- 10:03me some Prednisone. And I've been on it for the last
- 10:0624 hours. And I'm feeling a little bit
- 10:08better. So these tonsils are getting a
- 10:10little bit stronger. So you might hear me screaming
- 10:12roar tonight because of it. So, yeah.
- 10:15NFL Networks Tom Pelisar reports that the Steelers have
- 10:19officially signed Aaron Rodgers to a new deal.
- 10:24The terms of the deal have not been discussed, but Rodgers told
- 10:30the teams publicly he would play for around $20 million.
- 10:36He added that the perimeters of the contract have been in for
- 10:41months, but it took a while to finalize the contract.
- 10:45Rodgers is expected to fly to Pittsburgh on Friday and be a
- 10:51full participant in the Steelers mandatory mini mini camps on
- 10:55Friday. Steelers owner Art Rooney said
- 10:58that even though Rogers said on the Pat McAfee Show he was
- 11:03unsure of his future, they always knew he was going to
- 11:07play. Rogers had 3897 yards, 28
- 11:10touchdowns, 11 interceptions, a 63 completion percentage and a
- 11:1590.5 passer. Raining glass seizing.
- 11:19Rodgers will be 41 years old entering his 21st NFL season.
- 11:25I, I, here's the thing. We expected this to happen.
- 11:29We knew Rodgers was not going to retire because of the season he
- 11:32had last year. He did have a good team around
- 11:35him. Now, The Jets obviously put him
- 11:38in a good position. They went after Devante Adams,
- 11:40They added all these different Packers.
- 11:43They thought it would make him feel comfortable, and he didn't.
- 11:47I wouldn't say he laid up a lousy goose egg for the New York
- 11:49Jets, but he didn't give The Jets what The Jets wanted him to
- 11:52give him. And that was a playoff
- 11:54appearance and maybe a contending team over the last
- 11:58two years. As we all know, Aaron Rodgers
- 12:00went down the first game of the season against the one and only
- 12:06Pittsburgh Steel. I'm sorry, was it the
- 12:07Pittsburgh? I'm sorry, no Bills.
- 12:09It was the Bills. I'm sorry, the Buffalo Bills.
- 12:12He ran out on the field with the flag.
- 12:14The American flag looked like he was Captain America and he was
- 12:17going to save the world in olive green where the lights were down
- 12:21and dim and the lights were flashing on.
- 12:23Aaron Rodgers, ladies and gentlemen.
- 12:26He couldn't even stay on the field for four plays.
- 12:29He eventually tore his Achilles. He was out for the rest of the
- 12:32season, tried to come back. Thank God he didn't.
- 12:34He came back. Last year, Netflix put on a
- 12:37documentary that made Aaron Rodgers look so special, look so
- 12:41fantastic. And again, he came in in a
- 12:45season that looked like he didn't want to play.
- 12:47He seriously didn't want to play.
- 12:49And even though his numbers don't look bad, the perimeter of
- 12:53what you thought Aaron Rodgers was going to give the New York
- 12:56Jets is just absolutely appalling.
- 12:58Now, when you look at these numbers, there's there, they
- 13:01could be the best numbers we've seen a Jets quarterback put up
- 13:05in about 25 years. So when you expected it from the
- 13:09great Aaron Rodgers, did he deliver?
- 13:11The problem with Aaron Rodgers, he didn't deliver it in in in a
- 13:14situation where it gave them an opportunity to win.
- 13:17His numbers basically came at the end of the game.
- 13:20It basically came when The Jets were out of that game.
- 13:24They weren't winning that game. They were down by 1417 points in
- 13:28the fourth quarter with 10 minutes left where The Jets were
- 13:30going to have to make a run, unbelievable run to win that
- 13:33game. And The Jets have never done
- 13:35that. As a matter of fact, the last
- 13:36time I I remember The Jets coming back from a significant
- 13:39lead was against the Miami Dolphins when John Hall kicked a
- 13:43field goal to win the game for the New York Jets.
- 13:45I remember that was like in the late 90s, OK, It was that's
- 13:49that's the last time I remember The Jets coming back from a an
- 13:52incredible, it looked like an incredible loss.
- 13:55The Jets have been an organization that have been
- 13:57looking for a quarterback and the same thing I could say for
- 14:01the Pittsburgh Steelers. I could say that for probably I
- 14:04would say 14 teams in the NFL still looking for a quarterback,
- 14:07first round draft pick, second round draft pick, third round
- 14:10draft picks. They can't find them because
- 14:12it's very hard to find a number one goaltender, A goaltender,
- 14:16another quarterback. That tells you what I'm thinking
- 14:19about last night's Edmonton Oiler game.
- 14:20We'll get it to that a little bit later, but Aaron Rodgers is
- 14:25to me, the best quarterback in the last 15 years.
- 14:28If you look at Aaron Rodgers numbers and speedy, could you
- 14:30sit still for five seconds, 5 seconds?
- 14:34He's like this. Aaron Rodgers has not been the
- 14:41same quarterback really for the last four years.
- 14:46The last time I remember Aaron Rodgers put up those numbers
- 14:49that really stood out to me was when they faced San Francisco in
- 14:52the first round and they were the number one team in the NFL.
- 14:55They lost. It was snowing.
- 14:57I remember it was in Wisconsin and a lot of people thought that
- 15:00was Aaron Rodgers last year and they probably were right.
- 15:05And then you look at what Aaron Rodgers has delivered the last
- 15:08three years. It was one season because he
- 15:10missed one and it's not good. But I'm not saying Aaron Rodgers
- 15:15going to the Pittsburgh Steelers is not going to give you a good
- 15:18quarterback play. Only time will tell.
- 15:20The Pittsburgh Steelers last year had problems with their
- 15:23offensive line. The Pittsburgh Steelers last
- 15:25year were undecided who their starting quarterback was.
- 15:28They had Justin Fields, who's now a New York Jets quarterback.
- 15:30It was kind of like a flip flop. They had Justin Fields that was
- 15:33four and two at 1.4 and one at one point with the Pittsburgh
- 15:37Steelers. And then after the 6th game,
- 15:39they decided to start Russell Wilson when he was 100% healthy
- 15:44and Russell Wilson got him into the playoffs.
- 15:45And what happened once again, eight years in a row, get
- 15:48eliminated in the first round. I don't care how talented the
- 15:51Pittsburgh Steelers defense is. And then they make a trade.
- 15:54George Pickens. There were stories coming out
- 15:57from the Pittsburgh Steelers at the end of the season that
- 15:58George Pickens wasn't happy. He didn't like the coaching
- 16:01staff. He didn't like some of the
- 16:02players that he was playing with.
- 16:04Well, they eventually shipped him out to the Cowboys and we'll
- 16:06see how that works. But they added DK Metcalf, they
- 16:10made a trade, went to Seattle Seahawks, they get DK Metcalf.
- 16:14And then you heard that Aaron Rodgers was throwing with DK
- 16:16Metcalf over the last couple of weeks.
- 16:19Oh, Aaron Rodgers could be coming to Pittsburgh, but it
- 16:22took him, what, a month and a half to decide?
- 16:25And I don't want to hear it from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the
- 16:27organization. And Art Rooney, well, we knew he
- 16:30was going to come. We knew that he was going to
- 16:32play another season. If he didn't, you would have set
- 16:35your team back another season. You made a trade for DK Metcalf.
- 16:39You made all these moves in the offseason to suit your
- 16:43organization to make a run going into a new season.
- 16:46And what did you guys do? What did you guys do?
- 16:49You waited for Aaron Rodgers just like the New York Jets did,
- 16:52just like the Green Bay Packers did.
- 16:55And we all know the Green Bay Packers and the stories behind
- 16:58the greenback. And is this a perfect night to
- 17:00talk about the Green Bay Packers?
- 17:01Because we're going to have one of the greatest Green Bay Packer
- 17:03defensive players of all time coming on the show.
- 17:06So it'll be fun to hear what he has to say from this absolute
- 17:09debacle. And he never really played with
- 17:12Aaron Rodgers. He might have.
- 17:13Aaron Rodgers was a backup quarterback.
- 17:15He was sitting at the tail end of his career.
- 17:17But I don't think Leroy actually played with Aaron Rodgers.
- 17:22But nevertheless, if you look at this situation with the
- 17:25Pittsburgh Steelers, they're in a division that is is really run
- 17:29by the Baltimore Ravens. Lamar Jackson is the best player
- 17:33right now in the NFL. He's the best quarterback.
- 17:35I don't want to hear about Pat Patrick Mahomes.
- 17:38I don't want to hear about Joe Burrow, who, by the way, Joe
- 17:41Burrows in the same division as the Pittsburgh Steelers and
- 17:45Lamar Jackson. If you think about the
- 17:47quarterback play in this division, it's probably the best
- 17:50in the league. When you hit the additions of
- 17:52Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and now Aaron Rodgers.
- 17:56And Aaron Rodgers, like I said to me in the last 15 years, is
- 17:59the best quarterback in the NFL. That's over Tom Brady.
- 18:02Yes. Tom Brady is a winning
- 18:03quarterback, yes, over Peyton Manning, over Drew Brees.
- 18:07If you look at the numbers, the numbers don't lie.
- 18:10The completion percentage and what Aaron Rodgers does, well,
- 18:13yeah, he won 1 championship. It's very hard to win a
- 18:16championship. It is, but if you look at what
- 18:18Aaron Rodgers was ranked as a quarterback in the 15 years that
- 18:22he was as good as anybody, it's amongst the league's greatest
- 18:26quarterbacks, greatest players to ever play the game.
- 18:29I look at the Pittsburgh Steelers right now.
- 18:32Are they really going to be fighting for first place in this
- 18:35division? The answer would be no.
- 18:37You had DK Metcalf to this team. Is he that much better than the
- 18:40weapons that they had last year? I, I don't know now, DK
- 18:44Metcalf's a good player. Last year he didn't have a good
- 18:46season. He didn't.
- 18:48And you, you spent a lot of money because after you made
- 18:50that trade for DK Metcalf, you paid him a load of money.
- 18:54And DK Metcalf is what, 28 years old now?
- 18:58He he's got another good four years left in him if at best.
- 19:02And Aaron Rodgers had his wide receivers.
- 19:05The Jets brought in two or three wide receivers from the the
- 19:08Packers. Devante Adams, you could argue,
- 19:11is the greatest Packers wide receiver of all time and they
- 19:16still couldn't win. The Jets still couldn't win with
- 19:19Aaron Rodgers, number one guy. They had Garrett Wilson, one of
- 19:23the more young, elusive wide receivers, one of the best route
- 19:28runners in the league. He still couldn't get the ball
- 19:31to Garrett Wilson. And this is what I'm going to
- 19:34say about Aaron Rodgers. There's questions where this
- 19:38team and this organization is now.
- 19:42If if this fails for Pittsburgh, where do they go?
- 19:46If Aaron Rodgers gives you just enough wins to get you in the
- 19:49playoffs, you're not even going to be in position to get a
- 19:52quarterback in next year's class because there's five good ones
- 19:55and they're probably all going to go in the top 10 or top 12.
- 19:58If Aaron Rodgers gets you 9 or 10 wins and you sneak into the
- 20:01playoffs, are you going to get one of those guys?
- 20:03The answer would be no. So what does this do for the
- 20:07Pittsburgh Steelers? What does this do for Mike
- 20:10Tomlin? What does this do for an
- 20:12organization that's been craving a championship?
- 20:16This isn't Ben Roethlisberger and his prime guys.
- 20:19It is Aaron Rodgers. But it isn't Ben, and this is,
- 20:23and I'm going to say this, Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback
- 20:26they've had since Ben Roethlisberger.
- 20:29Even with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, he's the best
- 20:31one. But that doesn't spell anything
- 20:34when it comes to a championship. Aaron Rodgers is at the tail end
- 20:37of his career. Again, when you look at his
- 20:40numbers on paper, they don't look bad.
- 20:42But if you look at now the traditional new statistics, the
- 20:45PFFS and the quarterback numbers that you're trying to compare to
- 20:49the great quarterbacks in the league right now, they're they
- 20:52were amongst the league's top 15, top 16 instead of the top
- 20:55ten. You, you have to look at these
- 20:59things. And again, I'm looking at the
- 21:01Pittsburgh Steelers and I'm still wondering, is this the
- 21:04right guy for the what this team for right now?
- 21:09I the the problem was is they should have taken Justin Fields,
- 21:12but they screwed Justin Fields last year after putting Russell
- 21:16Wilson in when he got healthy because he was the veteran and
- 21:18he won a Super Bowl. And then Justin Field Fields was
- 21:22bitter in the offseason. He said, you know what?
- 21:24You don't want me. You didn't want me in the middle
- 21:26of the season when I could have taken you to the playoffs.
- 21:28And maybe Snucky snuck a win at what?
- 21:31Winning in the playoffs, maybe make a run in the playoffs.
- 21:34Well, guess what? I'm going to The Jets.
- 21:35You could go after whoever the hell you want.
- 21:37You're not going to get me, that's for damn sure.
- 21:40And Russell Wilson's happy right now.
- 21:41I mean, Russell Wilson's happy right now with the Giants.
- 21:44And Justin Fields is happy right now with The Jets.
- 21:47As you're reading stories that he is so absolutely happy about
- 21:50Aaron Glenn as his head coach, that his his performance has
- 21:54been much, much better in the OTAs, in the practices.
- 21:57He feels like he's going to be a better quarterback this year
- 22:00because he has a a coach that believes in him.
- 22:02So that when he, when you hear Justin Fields come out and say
- 22:05that, what is that say for Mike Tomlin, who everybody says is
- 22:09one of the great coaches in the NFL, one of the winningest
- 22:12coaches in the NFL, by the way, in the regular season, but in
- 22:15the playoffs, he lays the lousy goose egg up every single year
- 22:18for eight years in a row. So what does that say?
- 22:22Aaron Rodgers is not what you call a flamethrower in the
- 22:26playoffs. Go ask the San Francisco 49ers
- 22:29that have crushed him many, many times.
- 22:31Then they've met in the playoffs.
- 22:34Kyle Shanahan has his number. A lot of coaches has his number.
- 22:37Bill Belichick had his number. This is a problem.
- 22:42And I'm going to tell you this right now, Pittsburgh on paper
- 22:46right now is not making the playoffs.
- 22:48On paper right now, they're not making the playoffs.
- 22:50Their offensive line is limited. Aaron Rodgers The Jets put on.
- 22:55They added so many offensive lineman last year.
- 22:57They added Smith, they added all these guys, Moses, Morgan,
- 23:01Moses. They added all these guys, these
- 23:03veteran players to play with, Aaron Rodgers to protect them.
- 23:06And even when it was in, he was in a better situation with the
- 23:09offensive lineman The Jets gave him.
- 23:11It didn't help. It didn't help and Aaron Rodgers
- 23:15made excuses that he couldn't plant his feet, He couldn't
- 23:18stand in the pocket. He was running for dear life.
- 23:20You wanted all these guys you asked The Jets to to deliver and
- 23:24they delivered it. They traded a third round draft
- 23:26pick for Devante Adams. Devante Adams put up numbers.
- 23:31You didn't. And when Devante Adams put up
- 23:33the numbers in the later quarters when The Jets were out
- 23:37of those games. And that's again goes to the
- 23:41situation for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 23:44Are you willing to believe in Aaron Rodgers, by the way, who's
- 23:49now showing up to mandatory OTAs?
- 23:52He didn't practice with the team.
- 23:53He hasn't gone to these camps. He decided when he wanted to
- 23:57sign that contract. That tells me Mike Tomlin
- 23:59doesn't have control. That tells me Art Rooney doesn't
- 24:02have control. That tells me Aaron is in the
- 24:05driver's seat. And that you know what that
- 24:07spells? Ask Tom Brady, who always he
- 24:09showed up to OTAs, practically showed up to all the practices.
- 24:12Go ask Ben Roethlisberger when he was playing for the
- 24:15Pittsburgh Steelers, even if he was trying to rape people in
- 24:18bars and and drive his motorcycle into cars or whatever
- 24:21the hell he was doing in his in his spare time.
- 24:24And all these guys, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning, they all
- 24:27showed up to these these not even non mandatory practices.
- 24:31They were there with his teammates trying to build
- 24:33relationships. Aaron Rodgers does whatever he
- 24:35wants. And this is coming from an Aaron
- 24:37Rodgers fan. You don't want Aaron Rodgers to
- 24:40believe that he's in charge. You don't want Aaron Rodgers to
- 24:43think that he is in charge and he's in the driver's seat
- 24:46because that tells the coach he has no control of this team.
- 24:50He doesn't have any control of what Aaron Rodgers is going to
- 24:53do in the locker room or what he's going to do on a football
- 24:56field. Yeah, and he created unnecessary
- 24:58hoopla this offseason, which is not something that the Steelers
- 25:01organization usually does. Obviously, Antonio Brown was a
- 25:04special circumstance because he's just that crazy.
- 25:06Le'veon Bell had his own circumstances.
- 25:08It's just that crazy. But I think at the same time
- 25:10those were a lot more player driven.
- 25:12The Steelers could have said in March, Aaron Rodgers, we're
- 25:16you're on our radar, but we're going to prioritize bringing
- 25:18back Justin Fields. What are The Jets do the first
- 25:20week of free agency sign Justin Fields because the Steelers dead
- 25:23in that relationship way too much.
- 25:25Russell Wilson signs with the Giants a couple weeks later with
- 25:29it and they dead in that relationship.
- 25:31Russell Wilson said he wanted to go back to the Steelers, which I
- 25:34thought was a bit surprising. I don't know how much I trust
- 25:36it, but that's the report that the Steelers are getting.
- 25:39And we discussed with many of our guests the NFLPA ownership
- 25:43rankings. The Steelers were third to last.
- 25:46All of a sudden this Rooney family that like we joke about
- 25:49all the time, was respected for years, just like the Giants
- 25:51respected for years, and all of a sudden has to resort to the
- 25:54Aaron Rodgers drama in the offseason fiasco that got more
- 25:58storylines for the Steelers during their draft than the
- 26:00actual draft picks themselves. Because you're wondering, oh, is
- 26:03he going to sign there? Is he going to draft this
- 26:04quarterback instead? This Are the Steelers going to
- 26:06draft Dart? Are the Steelers going to draft
- 26:08Shidor Sanders? Why?
- 26:09Because Aaron Rodgers was the only other QB option that they
- 26:12had, because Mason Rudolph was the only QB option on the team
- 26:16right now, because nobody else wanted to play there.
- 26:19And it creates a culture that it, like you're saying, Errol is
- 26:22going to be parallel to a Aaron Rodgers running The Jets.
- 26:25And you don't want to have to stoop so low if you're the
- 26:26Steelers to do that. There's a reason Mike Tomlin
- 26:28hasn't won a playoff game in nine years now.
- 26:31And maybe he doesn't have any control of the players anymore.
- 26:33I don't think ownership does either.
- 26:35I don't know if it's control of the players.
- 26:38I personally think that they just are putting all their eggs
- 26:42in next year's basket because the draft is supposed to be good
- 26:45and they're just going to go get their quarterback and if they
- 26:47can't get their quarterback in the draft, they're going to
- 26:50trade a whole bunch of assets. They got 12 picks next year,
- 26:53they got 3 thirds, I think 3/4 or two fourths, 2/5, two sixths.
- 26:58They they'll trade their higher end picks and the following year
- 27:00picks and just hope that they draft well and get those deaf
- 27:03guys because they want to get their guy this year.
- 27:06They just don't want to be an embarrassment.
- 27:08Aaron Rodgers. You might get into the wild card
- 27:10with Aaron Rodgers. Theoretically, I think that's
- 27:13the idea. And then you know, you get a
- 27:14seat, you get a seat at the dance, you know you got a chance
- 27:17to win. And that's what I think they're
- 27:19banking on. I don't know.
- 27:21I I personally wouldn't have done it.
- 27:23I don't know why they kept Tomlin.
- 27:24If they're trying to do that, they're like, maybe they think
- 27:26they could hold him over and then when the team's good again
- 27:29in a year from now, you know, we have Tomlin still, but smart
- 27:32money would have been fire the the long time coach rebuild now
- 27:36bottom out and you know, get get these high end picks and rebuild
- 27:40your team like it traditionally is done.
- 27:43I respected them for not wanting to lose, but I got some bad
- 27:46stats on Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodger, Well, he's I'll
- 27:49start with this. I thought he moved around a lot
- 27:51better physically second-half of the season because he had that
- 27:55Achilles didn't. He didn't look great in his
- 27:57mobile. He was famous for being able to
- 27:58throw on the run his whole career and be able to get his
- 28:02hips around and his shoulders around at a level that nobody
- 28:05else. We haven't really seen that
- 28:06until Mahomes. Well, he wasn't doing that at
- 28:09all. The first half.
- 28:10He couldn't do it and then the second-half is a little bit
- 28:12better. He also had Devante Adams in the
- 28:13second-half, like you said, Earl, and it definitely made a
- 28:16made a lot easier for him. Here's the numbers that make you
- 28:20worry about Aaron Rodgers, 25th in the league last year in QBR
- 28:24rating, 48 point O. That's well below average in the
- 28:28clutch, a 55.9 passer rating. That's out of like 148.
- 28:34So he had a 55 in passer rating. And.
- 28:39This is the receiver, the receiving core he has outside of
- 28:44DK Metcalf. They have Calvin Austin, the
- 28:46third, Ben Swaronic, Scotty Miller, Robert Woods, who I
- 28:52guess is still in the league. 36 or something.
- 28:55And the Michigan rookie that got hurt and didn't play last year,
- 28:59Roman Wilson, so he's I guess is technically is still his rookie
- 29:02year, right? Because he didn't play.
- 29:04So that's that's it. Think about this.
- 29:07Think about this. Garrett Wilson, who was one of
- 29:09the best young wide receivers in the league, one of the best wide
- 29:13receivers in all of the NFL. And then all of a sudden Aaron
- 29:17Rodgers, you heard all these practices.
- 29:19Aaron Rodgers was juicing the ball to him in the end zone.
- 29:22He looked unbelievable. The press was writing all these
- 29:24crazy stories. The one hand grabbed that
- 29:26remember the end of the regular season, which we have it in our
- 29:28clip, the unbelievable catch that he had.
- 29:31That was probably the best catch he had all season long.
- 29:35And the reason why is because during the season this guy,
- 29:39Garrett Wilson went to Robert AK, Bambi Sala in the middle of
- 29:43the season and said, I can't play with this guy.
- 29:45This guy and me do not get along on the field.
- 29:48And he got very uncomfortable really, really early in the
- 29:51season with Aaron Rodgers. And that's why they had to make
- 29:54that move for Devante Adams because it was never going to
- 29:57work with Garrett Wilson. And Garrett Wilson at the end of
- 29:59the season said, I am not extending with you guys if this
- 30:03guy is here. And that's why what did The Jets
- 30:06do? The Jets went after his college
- 30:09partner, his college quarterback in Justin Fields.
- 30:13Why to make Garrett Wilson happy this season.
- 30:17So if Garrett's happy in the offseason next year, he gets his
- 30:21contract, they get their number one wide receivers only 2425
- 30:25years old. He's he's got an opportunity to
- 30:27put up great numbers this year as the number one guy.
- 30:30He's happy. They're happy there's defense
- 30:33that is amongst the league's best because really, for the
- 30:36last two seasons, Robert Sala's defense was amongst the best in
- 30:39the league, top five in the league.
- 30:41It'll be that way exactly what it was last year because you
- 30:44have Aaron Glenn, who had one of the best defenses in the league
- 30:47last year with the the Lions and he lost so many big players.
- 30:50Hutchinson was out for the season last year.
- 30:53They lost a ton of great defensive players and they still
- 30:56had one of the elite defenses in the NFL.
- 30:59Why? Because Aaron Glenn is a great
- 31:00defensive mind. So again, you have an you have
- 31:04an advantage now, I would say Aaron Rodgers because he goes to
- 31:08a team that's winning all the time.
- 31:10So there's no excuses for Tomlin and and Aaron Rodgers.
- 31:14This team has had a winning season every single year.
- 31:18Mike Tomlin's been there. So if Aaron Rodgers fails to
- 31:21have a winning season with this Pittsburgh Steelers team, it is
- 31:25not Mike Tomlin. It isn't the organization, isn't
- 31:28the players on the football field.
- 31:30It is him. It is Aaron Rodgers because
- 31:33Aaron Rodgers can't shut his mouth and just play the goddamn
- 31:36football game. And that's the problem right now
- 31:38with the Pittsburgh Steelers. You took on a responsibility, a
- 31:42guy that is not a leader. He's all about himself.
- 31:45And I love Aaron Rodgers. For all the people are saying
- 31:48you hate on Aaron Rodgers, I love the guy.
- 31:50He's my favorite quarterback. But after watching him with the
- 31:54New York Jets and after seeing what he's all about off the
- 31:57field, going to all these different games, he's going to
- 32:01Ranger games, Islander games, Knick games, Yankee games, and
- 32:05not really spending time on the football, football field getting
- 32:08to know the players are trying to get these guys to play and
- 32:11and play the way he wants them to play.
- 32:13Do you know what Aaron Rodgers was doing during the the week
- 32:17they were off what he was doing? He was in California hanging out
- 32:21with his friends and different, you know, all his different
- 32:23friends and his new girlfriend, who, by the way, at that point
- 32:26he was dating, I think the Milwaukee, Milwaukee Bucks.
- 32:30I think it was the Milwaukee Bucks's daughter, the, the, the
- 32:33owner's daughter. OK, That's what he was doing in
- 32:36his spare time. And by the way, did you hear
- 32:38what Danica Danica Patrick said on a a podcast recently about it
- 32:42if you're. Going to bring this up.
- 32:43Yeah, pretty wild accusations saying it was an abusive
- 32:47relationship by by Rodgers towards her.
- 32:50Just think about that. Danica Patrick, who's one of the
- 32:53most respectful athletes we've seen, one of the she was the
- 32:56first woman NASCAR driver. She went on a podcast when they
- 33:01asked her questions about Aaron Rodgers.
- 33:02She didn't want to answer the questions and when she did it,
- 33:06it would make your mouth drop. She said that he was very he
- 33:09wasn't abusive where he wasn't putting his hands on her.
- 33:12He was very mentally abusive to her, made her feel low about
- 33:16herself and made it seem like he was.
- 33:19He was all that and she was a bag of bounce.
- 33:21She wasn't worth anything to him and that he could he could do
- 33:24whatever he wants and he could say whatever he wants.
- 33:26And a matter of fact, she also said that at the tail end of
- 33:30their their relationship, the sex was bad.
- 33:34I mean, she was pretty honest, honest about Aaron Rodgers in
- 33:37the bed. Just think about it.
- 33:39Aaron Rodgers. The first thing that pops into
- 33:41my mouth, my mind now when it comes to Danica Patrick is, oh,
- 33:45this guy can't, he can't get it up.
- 33:47He can't really take care of his woman.
- 33:49And Danica Patrick's a pretty hot woman.
- 33:51Get his hips around, you know, it's she's struggling getting
- 33:53his hips around later in the career.
- 33:55You know, obviously some injuries is affects the toll
- 33:58both in personal relationships and then I guess on the field as
- 34:01well. Not great for him.
- 34:04I just think that if you're a, if you're a Pittsburgh Steeler
- 34:07fan, you can't be very happy. And I'm by the way, we had a
- 34:10couple, we had Benton on and Benton told me there's no way
- 34:13Justin Fields goes to The Jets. He told me there's no way Justin
- 34:18Fields is going to The Jets. I said once the the offseason
- 34:23opens up and players can sign to a team, one of the first
- 34:26signings are going to be it's going to be Justin Fields going
- 34:29to the New York Jets. I told, I said Benton, let's
- 34:31make some money. Let's let's, let's make a deal.
- 34:33It's been a wheel make the deal. He told me, no, I don't want to
- 34:36make a deal. Thank God he didn't, because one
- 34:38of the one of the, the first moves in the offseason was
- 34:42Justin Fields going to the New York Jets.
- 34:44I told everybody that he was talking to Aaron, Aaron Glenn in
- 34:48the offseason, that he wanted to be coached by Aaron Glenn and
- 34:51Aaron Glenn wanted Justin Fields.
- 34:53As a matter of fact, he told The Jets if he takes the job, he
- 34:56wants Justin Fields. So I, I just, those are facts
- 35:01and I don't, I don't know why anybody doubted that.
- 35:03No, I'm not always right, but I don't know why people doubt what
- 35:06I say when I say it. And I'm going to tell you this
- 35:09right now, this is a catastrophe for all you flair.
- 35:12What do they call them? The black black towels.
- 35:14Terrible Towels. The Terrible Towels, because
- 35:17you're going to be absolutely terrible to this year, so you're
- 35:19going to be waving those towels outside of the stadium when this
- 35:23will be the first time Mike Tomlin doesn't make the
- 35:25playoffs. So good luck to the Pittsburgh
- 35:28Steelers. This is a terrible, terrible
- 35:30move. There's no question.
- 35:32And again, this is coming from an Aaron Rodgers fan, so I I
- 35:37don't want to hear it from people on social media saying
- 35:39I'm a hater and I can't stand Aaron Rodgers because he he
- 35:42didn't do well for The Jets. I actually thought that Aaron
- 35:45Rodgers did better than any quarterback The Jets have had in
- 35:48over 1520 years and that's not good enough.
- 35:52It's not good enough for what The Jets gave him.
- 35:55They gave him draft picks. And what I mean by that, you
- 35:57traded for Devante Adams. You did all this, you made all
- 36:00these moves, signing all these guys and it didn't work.
- 36:04It didn't work. You even went after fetching
- 36:06offensive lineman and it didn't work.
- 36:09And then you heard Aaron Rodgers on the pad, McAfee show taking
- 36:13down pressing, pointing fingers at the New York Jets and
- 36:16coaching. And by the way, he was the one
- 36:19before the season started says I wouldn't want it any other way.
- 36:22I want Sala as my coach. I think he's a great coach.
- 36:25And then what was what was going on in the middle of a season?
- 36:27He said Aaron, Aaron Rodgers went out on the Pat McAfee show,
- 36:30didn't mention any names. He said the coaching staff
- 36:33socks, socks. So what does that tell you about
- 36:37Aaron Rodgers throwing his team, his coaches and everybody onto
- 36:40the bus? Quickly about the baseball
- 36:42stuff, just, you know, we did some power rankings, see that
- 36:45the Mets are still crushing it even, you know, they I was going
- 36:48to put them ahead of the Dodgers if they swept, but I still have
- 36:51the Tigers on top and those two guys behind them.
- 36:54I'm trying to find the the drop over here.
- 36:56Some injuries. Pablo Lopez out two to three
- 36:58months with his with his shoulder strain.
- 37:00That's pretty bad. He's definitely their best arm.
- 37:03So they've been hot. I don't I expect them to fall
- 37:06back a little bit. What else do we have in the?
- 37:09In fact, I could probably bring it up right now.
- 37:12Honestly, it it it'll be interesting to see if the
- 37:14central stays as strong as it has.
- 37:18Yeah, I Cleveland, you know, the Yankees are playing Cleveland
- 37:21right now. I'm not super impressed with
- 37:22them. I I goody seems to think that
- 37:25they just win close games. They're good like that.
- 37:28I don't know, I think there's a lot of teams kind of in a
- 37:31similar state and I'll just show you what I had up here.
- 37:34So just quickly and we'll just move on to this story, but Pete
- 37:38Alonzo crushing it for the Mets was big part of everything that
- 37:42happened over the weekend and had another home run today.
- 37:45The Mccullers story out doing Skins.
- 37:48But then we found out that harassment you heard, remember
- 37:50we covered this a couple of weeks ago was traced to crap
- 37:53over, you know, overseas Canadian thing.
- 37:56The Rockies swept the Marlins, which is crazy and it's their
- 38:00first series win in 22 straight series is a streak.
- 38:05Spencer Strider's getting murdered.
- 38:06TJ Friedel and let's end with this.
- 38:08I got a highlight to show you. TJ Friedel won a game with
- 38:12robbing robbing a home run. I don't know if anyone saw it.
- 38:15It was an incredible play. Who's their closer Speedy Pagan
- 38:20over there? Emilio Pagan, Yes.
- 38:22Emilio Pagan. Yeah.
- 38:23Yep. So here.
- 38:24Almost. Gone former met you know he
- 38:27likes to serve some dingers almost met serve some dingers
- 38:33here we go and he that's with two outs in the 9th that would
- 38:37have tied the game. What a play and run it back one
- 38:41last time. Just have you seen the Kirby
- 38:45Yates one? The Yates one, no, I didn't have
- 38:48that. What do you got on that Java?
- 38:51I I, I've been scared a lot of times in my life.
- 38:55Oh, did not Kirby Yates, George Kirby.
- 38:58George Kirby, yes. Yes, that I didn't have that.
- 39:00I didn't want to even look at that. 102.7 miles per.
- 39:04Hour that was that was rough it like.
- 39:07Right off the face. As a pitcher, that's it.
- 39:10It's it's one of those things that I've been hit every place
- 39:14but my face and I've seen it happen to dude I went to high or
- 39:21college with. I've seen it teammates and I was
- 39:24fortunate enough that it never happened to me.
- 39:26But man, when when you get 1 back at your Dome like that, it
- 39:32I mean, it's all reaction in the 1st place anyways, just because
- 39:36it's coming so fast. But yeah, it's just I, I, I see
- 39:40those guys and I, I can't say I know how it feels because I
- 39:47don't, but it's scary as shit because you don't know like is
- 39:52my face broke? Is my eye broke?
- 39:54Is whatever it is and because. You're like in shock.
- 39:58You have to be because. Like, yeah, right when it
- 40:00happens, I I've seen my son hit in the forehead.
- 40:03He didn't get hit in the face, but I saw my son get hit in the
- 40:06forehead and it was just, it was the scariest thing of my life.
- 40:12And I'm like, and then you see it and you're just like, you
- 40:15know, you watch these games and, you know, as baseball players,
- 40:19like, it's obviously not the most entertaining sport most of
- 40:25the time. But like when you see things
- 40:28like this, when guys get hurt, it's just it, it's you feel for
- 40:32him and being in the position that you know, I've been in and
- 40:38a lot of guys that have played baseball, whether it's been
- 40:42Little League, whether it's been whatever, it's you know, you
- 40:45have that experience and let alone from one of the best
- 40:49people, you know, in the in the world to play the game and then
- 40:53get one off your coconut. It's it's not fun.
- 40:57Yeah. So, you know, we'll, we'll,
- 40:59we'll cover more baseball, especially when Goody comes
- 41:02back. We'll talk a little bit more
- 41:03next week, and that's going to be our little truncated version
- 41:07of Inside Baseball. We've got a big baseball story
- 41:10left to go, Errol. The Los Angeles Times reports
- 41:13that Trevor Bauer was one has won his lawsuit against Lindsay
- 41:17Hill, one of the women accusing him of sexual assault in 2021.
- 41:22The judge said that Hill has to pay Bauer over 300 thousands for
- 41:26the violation terms of the settlement agreement.
- 41:28Bauer and Hill struck a deal two years ago to end their lawsuit
- 41:34against each other and allowed Bauer to be eligible for in
- 41:39baseball again after his suspension of for almost 200
- 41:44games was over. Bauer filed a new lawsuit
- 41:47against Hill in October, claiming that Hill had multiple
- 41:51social media posts claiming that Bauer gave her financial
- 41:54compensation from her when that was isn't supposed to be public.
- 41:59Because Hill didn't respond to the lawsuit, the judge ruled in
- 42:04Bauer's favor and she has to pay anywhere between 10,000 and
- 42:09$300,000 for any other lawsuit she had involved in.
- 42:16Bauer has been out of Major League Baseball since April of
- 42:202022 and has pitched in Japan and Mexico in the last three
- 42:25season and won two Cy Youngs in in those three years, one in
- 42:30Japan and the other one in Mexico.
- 42:33And now he's going in his third year and if the season were to
- 42:36end today, he'd be the Cy Young winner over there in Japan once
- 42:40again. Honestly, I, I don't know if
- 42:44Trevor Bauer is a nice guy. I, I don't know him personally.
- 42:47Honestly, Jabba knows him. Nick Goody said that he was a
- 42:51good guy and he knew his father good.
- 42:53I don't know him personally and I've seen the antics on the
- 42:56foot, on the, I'm sure I said football field, on the baseball
- 42:59field over the last couple of years before he stepped away or
- 43:03got in trouble and, and, and missed 200 games because of all
- 43:06these accusations. What I do know about Trevor
- 43:09Bauer is he's one of the best pitchers still in the world and
- 43:12nobody can argue that. And when you look at these
- 43:15professional baseball teams and, and Cheryl, Tony still playing,
- 43:18he bet on baseball. I know it's not what women or
- 43:20anything like that, but there are guys over the last couple of
- 43:24years in in professional sports that have done thing on and off
- 43:27the field and gotten away with it.
- 43:29Greg Hardy, look what he did and he got another contract from the
- 43:32Cowboys, played another 4-5 years in the NFL.
- 43:35There are a ton of players that have had extra chances.
- 43:39You think Tucker, Justin Tucker was going to those massage
- 43:42parlors? You don't think he's going to
- 43:44get an another chance to play in the NFL?
- 43:46He's one of the best kickers of all time.
- 43:47He absolutely will. Deshaun Watson got a $240
- 43:51million contract after all the stupid stuff that he was doing
- 43:54on and off the field, even in his own quarters on, you know,
- 43:59in the facilities, he was doing these things, but he got away
- 44:02with it. So we got Trevor Bauer who's
- 44:05done, you know, interesting things, not very nice things of
- 44:08what we've heard. And, and I'm not saying they
- 44:10were false or they were true accusations.
- 44:13All I'm saying is is that he's done some things and he has
- 44:17never been proven to be guilty and in law in in, in in front of
- 44:21a jury in front of a judge. So knowing that, why are
- 44:25baseball teams, why are professional baseball teams that
- 44:28are looking to bring in pitching or looking for help in pitching
- 44:32in certain aspects of the season?
- 44:35Why don't they go after a guy like Trevor Bauer who can
- 44:38absolutely fill in as their third or fourth guy in their
- 44:41rotation, maybe even their second guy or first guy
- 44:44depending on the team. Kansas City right now could
- 44:45definitely use a Trevor Bauer. So I just think that obviously
- 44:50baseball has been scrutinized over the last couple years and
- 44:54what they've done to many different people going to the
- 44:56Hall of Fame. Bud Selig, he's in the Hall of
- 44:59Fame and he was the one that allowed steroids to happen and
- 45:03go on in baseball. But he's in the Hall of Fame
- 45:05because of Rob Manfred or whatever you want to call him,
- 45:08furred or fur ball ass, whatever you want to call him.
- 45:12He's the one who allow Bud Selik, his mentor, to go to the
- 45:15Hall of Fame. But George Steinbrenner, that
- 45:17saved baseball, OK, save baseball.
- 45:20Mark McGuire that save baseball. Sammy Sosa at the time, save
- 45:23baseball after that strike in 9596, all these guys that are a
- 45:28part of that era help baseball grow back to where it needed to
- 45:32be. And they're out of the Hall of
- 45:34Fame. I don't care if they did
- 45:35steroids. I don't care if they did
- 45:37amphetamines because a lot of players in the 60s and the 50s
- 45:40cheated using amphetamines. And that makes you concentrate
- 45:43better, which is probably worse than doing steroids.
- 45:46So honestly, if you look at the situation for what it is, Trevor
- 45:51Bauer should get another chance to play in the major leagues.
- 45:54That baseball team should be lining up and giving him a call.
- 45:57But they're not because Rob Manford and some of these other
- 46:00players or former Hall of Farmers that sit there and say,
- 46:04oh, this isn't God. They're not a good people.
- 46:07Albert Bell should be in the Hall of Fame.
- 46:08You know why Albert Bell is not in the Hall of Fame?
- 46:10Because baseball writers didn't like them.
- 46:13Baseball riders couldn't stand him.
- 46:14And Albert Bell, if you look at his numbers, are some of the
- 46:17greatest numbers we've ever seen in baseball history.
- 46:20So I, I just, I am so appalled by the way baseball treats
- 46:24people. I'm not saying Trevor Bart
- 46:26powers a good guy, He probably isn't.
- 46:28But it doesn't take away from what we have seen over the last
- 46:31couple of years in court, this guy has never been, has never
- 46:36lost in in front of a court system ever yet.
- 46:40And and the fact that that is true, this guy should absolutely
- 46:44get another chance to play in the major leagues.
- 46:46Will he? No, he won't because baseball's
- 46:48going to keep him away. Keep baseball's going to keep
- 46:50him far, far away from an organization for an organization
- 46:53that thinks they're growing. They're falling flat on their
- 46:56face because they think that they know better than everybody
- 46:59else. Shay Ohtani should have been out
- 47:00for the whole season after those accusations were to be true and
- 47:04they found a way to brush it under the rug.
- 47:06But Trevor Bauer, because nobody likes him and baseball and the
- 47:09writers don't like and players don't like him.
- 47:12Hey, you know what? Let's get rid of them.
- 47:14Let's forget Trevor Bauer even existed.
- 47:16It's it's despicable. Absolutely despicable.
- 47:19Java quickly before you vent, I'll just take it on the case
- 47:21angle with with Lindsay Hill because we were talking about
- 47:23Lindsay Hill a couple years ago as being kind of that unreliable
- 47:26source that was kind of twisting information.
- 47:27But there were like six others too that had a little more
- 47:30truthful cases. So what's interesting with this
- 47:32of development is like there's 22 other cases that she could
- 47:35potentially be connected to and that would probably be the next
- 47:37progress for Bauer to be able to get anywhere.
- 47:39The question is, will it be in time for him to still be like
- 47:42he's 34 years old right now, but will that be enough time where
- 47:45his career won't run out? Obviously pitching well, but
- 47:47like you said, are any team going to take a chance on him,
- 47:49especially if it's like 2 years later?
- 47:50All right Java, have at it. See what you're saying when it
- 47:53comes to the steroid side of it and, but when it comes to women
- 48:00and children, it's completely different.
- 48:04And whether and, and I've experienced this first hand with
- 48:09a teammate of mine and he never got the opportunity to ever
- 48:16pitch in the big leagues again. When you come to treating women
- 48:22like that and how it's portrayed, whether guilty or
- 48:27not, like as we stand on this country, right, it's innocent
- 48:31till proven guilty. But there are some, there are
- 48:35some statues where sometimes that isn't what it is, even
- 48:40though you are innocent, right? And when it comes down, like
- 48:46look at all the guys that have had that in their career.
- 48:50Look at Ozuna. He was a prolific closer for the
- 48:54Astros. What happened?
- 48:56He got ADA against his wife. Did he ever pitch in the big
- 49:01leagues again? No, and they don't.
- 49:05You don't want that in your clubhouse because you know what
- 49:08that does? You have to answer questions
- 49:11that you don't want to answer. I want to play the game.
- 49:15I want to know I failed or succeeded.
- 49:18I don't want to have to worry about the dude that's sitting
- 49:20right next to me and have to answer questions about him that
- 49:25I know nothing about. And that's what they're going to
- 49:28have to deal with. And why.
- 49:31And can Trevor Bauer still pitch?
- 49:33Yes. But is he more focused on what
- 49:36he's doing on YouTube and all the other stuff and wearing a
- 49:40mic when he's pitching? Like that's what he's doing now,
- 49:44if he really, really wanted to be in the big leagues, we would
- 49:48hear more talk about him wanting to get the big leagues other
- 49:51than his YouTube channels, other than his Tik Toks and other than
- 49:54all that stuff. We would hear about that.
- 49:58And he hasn't done that because at the same time, his agent was
- 50:04a chick he was banging in college.
- 50:08So I mean, let's, if you want to have that conversation, let's
- 50:11have that conversation. And Trevor Bauer can come at me
- 50:15all he wants. I don't care.
- 50:16I was his teammate. You want to come at me?
- 50:19Come at me. I know the back story.
- 50:23I can let it all out if you want me to.
- 50:27What are you going to do to me? Nothing.
- 50:30I don't care. But at the same time, when it
- 50:33comes to women and children, people in the clubhouse will not
- 50:39stand for that and they're not going to want to answer
- 50:42questions. Why do you think he's gone
- 50:45through this the entire time, but yet he's never come forth
- 50:53and said I want to be back in Major League Baseball.
- 50:58He's never said it. Now, if he said it OK, then give
- 51:04him a chance. If he's good enough to help you
- 51:09and win right now, why wouldn't you?
- 51:11Don't disagree with you whatsoever.
- 51:13But are people willing to take a chance on that because of the
- 51:17other questions that they're going to have to ask or they're
- 51:20going to looking over their shoulder and be like, is this
- 51:25going to happen again? Well.
- 51:28Jabba I, I went into like the case and I was just reading up
- 51:32on what the ruling was, why he was given this 3 something
- 51:35around 309 point $8000. And it's because not that he
- 51:44didn't do anything wrong necessarily, it's that she they
- 51:48settled and she wasn't supposed to say that she received any
- 51:52money and she went public 22 different times and and he asked
- 51:57for like 10,000 plus lawyer fees for each time that she did it.
- 52:01So that added up to 309,000. The judge awarded it because she
- 52:04broke the terms of her settlement.
- 52:05If if you're not guilty, why do you settle?
- 52:08And that's kind of that was kind of my point is if to go with
- 52:13your side of the argument and I want to go to play do the other
- 52:16side as well. But, you know, if you're
- 52:19settling, there's there's something there, right?
- 52:22You know, there's obviously something there you don't want
- 52:24to get out. And it's a lot easier to pay
- 52:26somebody off. No money was exchanged at the
- 52:28time. The rule what was going to
- 52:30happen is he was going to give some like insurance settlement,
- 52:32I'm sure from some injury that he was going to get and she was
- 52:34going to have that money and that was going to be it.
- 52:37That's what it says on in this long article I just read while
- 52:41you guys were talking. I'll tell you, Bauer, his stats
- 52:46say it in worst case scenario. Ariel, we were talking about
- 52:48this earlier today. Worst case scenario, the guy's a
- 52:51top 30, Top 40 pitcher in the league right now.
- 52:54I think that's still a #2 starter on any staff.
- 52:58I don't understand, say, maybe he's a little worse than that.
- 53:00Maybe he's a #3 starter. You still need guys like that.
- 53:03Guys like that get paid double digit millions of dollars per
- 53:07season. They do.
- 53:09He said that he's willing to take the league minimum to come
- 53:12back. If I'm a team that doesn't have
- 53:15a lot of money and I think I might have a chance to contend
- 53:18or I think my if my team gets hot close to the deadline, maybe
- 53:22I go all in. Maybe I I get Bauer from
- 53:25overseas and I make a couple of moves.
- 53:28May's get hot maybe because, you know, they don't have money.
- 53:30They would love they would jump at something like that if they
- 53:32got close to a wild card spot. You know, I don't know who else
- 53:37is small ball. We just saw the twins lost Pablo
- 53:40Lopez by far. They're ace for two to three
- 53:43months. How are they going to stay
- 53:44relevant in that that real tight division?
- 53:48I I would give him a shot. You know, he's older people
- 53:52learn. Maybe he hasn't, but he hasn't
- 53:55been arrested. He hasn't been charged with a
- 53:58crime. It's it's a free country and the
- 54:01guy you know. There's, there's, there's no
- 54:04doubt that he can pitch there. There's no doubt in that.
- 54:11But what I think happens, and I've seen it happen when it
- 54:18comes to a clubhouse and how that team works, if you want
- 54:25them to be great, yeah, We've all played with assholes, we've
- 54:31all done it. We've coached them, we've seen
- 54:33them, we've done all that. But when I have to deal with
- 54:37other stuff and surrounding me with questions, because they're
- 54:45going to be questions, be like, how do you feel about him being
- 54:48on your team? What do you feel about this?
- 54:51Even though he is is innocent, you're still going to you're
- 54:57still going to have to deal with it.
- 54:59And if I'm sitting on my locker minding my own business, doing
- 55:04nothing and they're like, hey, you just signed Trevor Bauer,
- 55:08you know, what do you, what do you think about that?
- 55:12And it's you, you take your own stand on something.
- 55:16And that creates animosity because whether right or wrong,
- 55:22convicted or not, we heard about it.
- 55:28And so we have an opinion. We're human beings.
- 55:31I don't think any team takes a chance because of the mere fact
- 55:37of kind of how he's put himself out there.
- 55:42Do I? Do I deny his ability to throw
- 55:46baseball into get outs? No, I do not.
- 55:50But getting outs is one thing, but dealing with all the other
- 55:55stuff is another thing, and I think that's where that comes
- 56:00into play. Do I think deservingly well
- 56:03enough? 60 feet, 6 inches.
- 56:07Does he deserve a chance? Heck yeah, heck yeah.
- 56:11But are they willing to deal with the other stuff that comes?
- 56:14I got to say one more thing before we go on to analytics.
- 56:18I'm going to say one thing, A roll dish.
- 56:20Chapman is still in baseball. OK.
- 56:24This guy shot at his wife. OK.
- 56:28So I don't want to hear. There are other guys that we
- 56:30have seen that played for the Yankees, pitchers that have been
- 56:33a part of the Yankees organization, numerous amount of
- 56:35pitchers that we've heard. David Wells used to go on the
- 56:39mound and drink, get drunk and go out on the mound and, and,
- 56:43and yeah, he pitched well, but he was doing things that you
- 56:46don't you don't do as a professional athlete.
- 56:48So I but that's not women or children.
- 56:52Our oldest, Chapman did, but he's in baseball.
- 56:54We could go on and on and on of guys that I think he shoots.
- 56:57Like his basement wall, while his wife was next, he was.
- 57:00Beating up his wife. He was beating up his wife.
- 57:03Part of it. There was a lot of these guys.
- 57:06They're playing Domingo Herman. There are bunches a bunch.
- 57:10Rodriguez beat up his his his father-in-law right in the in
- 57:14the bullpen. But what was the kicker's name
- 57:17on the Giants? Josh Brown.
- 57:18Josh Brown. Josh Brown.
- 57:20Yeah, I know. Listen, Greg Hardy played.
- 57:22Guess guess where he went to college?
- 57:24Nebraska. Wouldn't take pride in that job.
- 57:26He's a great dude. What I'm trying to say here is
- 57:29if all these guys get a chance to play because the league and
- 57:32the Riders don't like Trevor Bauer, oh, we're just going to
- 57:35completely erase him, just like they did the Shoeless Joe
- 57:38Jackson, just like they did to Pete Rose.
- 57:41They completely tossed him away for all the great things that
- 57:44they did. They threw him away because they
- 57:47didn't like him. And I'm tired of it.
- 57:49I'm tired of looking at baseball.
- 57:51Baseball. That's that's part of it Errol.
- 57:54I understand like that's part of do.
- 57:57You know why baseball has lost a lot of their accolades.
- 58:00Remember, baseball was the most popular sport in the 80s.
- 58:04It wasn't basketball, wasn't football, it was baseball.
- 58:07Why did they lose the accolades? Because of remember did.
- 58:12You not see their viewership that was up almost 70% last
- 58:15year. Listen, that's fine.
- 58:17From the 1920s to the I would say 1920s, early 90s, early 90s.
- 58:22So like the early 90s till Jordan really I would say took
- 58:25over a little bit. It was, it was baseball
- 58:28dominated this country. I mean, I always think about
- 58:30that Field of Dreams. It was.
- 58:31Line what transitions? In 1988.
- 58:34What transition football was the Cowboys?
- 58:37I know everybody doesn't want to understand that and they hate
- 58:40the Cowboys and it's fine. When the Cowboys dominated in
- 58:43the 90's the way they did, that was what transitioned football
- 58:47into the new era in the early 2000s and when football took
- 58:50over, it was the Cowboys. You don't want to hear it,
- 58:52that's fine. You hate the Cowboys.
- 58:54Good Giant fans, Eagle fans, whoever fans, Commander fans,
- 58:59you all hate it. You don't want to hear it,
- 59:01that's fine. Those Cowboy teams changed
- 59:06football and made football and took football to that next
- 59:09level. And the same thing goes to
- 59:11basketball. Was Michael Jordan Think
- 59:13whatever you want and then. I'd like to throw some love to
- 59:16some other guys related to that, like Marv Albert with
- 59:19basketball, like John Madden and Pat Summerall with Mike Green
- 59:22that were Mike Green with basketball a couple some years
- 59:26like a generation later. John Madden just.
- 59:29Yeah, right. So those are the guys for me, I
- 59:32think really helped put it over the top.
- 59:34And baseball's always been more regional.
- 59:36You don't really have those national announcers like that
- 59:38for baseball. And I think that hurt baseball.
- 59:40I think just the way you're able to film football and the pace of
- 59:43it and basketball and being live.
- 59:45Basketball wasn't live until the mid 8th.
- 59:47The I think it was, it was the first final.
- 59:49It's also two It's the same time.
- 59:52Football is once a week, baseball is every day.
- 59:58So it's like you get used to like I loved getting done with a
- 1:00:02game and turning on MLB Network and listening to Vin Scully.
- 1:00:09I loved it. Vin Scully I I mean, there were
- 1:00:12a lot of great play by play guys and, and stuff like.
- 1:00:15That I mean, the the the only announcer ever to get traded for
- 1:00:18a player like I mean, let let's just I was fortunate enough to
- 1:00:22be Bob Shepherd and Vin Scully. Bob Shepherd The word Scott
- 1:00:27Shepherd. Yeah, two of our icons as of now
- 1:00:31through Bob Shepherd and obviously, let's not forget Twib
