- 0:49Speaker 2: I do even know where to we get in here. Okay,
- 0:51Speaker 2: I have your profile comedian, a clean comedian. We're gonna
- 0:54Speaker 2: get to that in a minute. I really enjoyed that
- 0:56Speaker 2: part of your profile actor, voice, voiceover artists. Then I
- 1:00Speaker 2: personally am really happy to we'll get into a little
- 1:02Speaker 2: bit later if the CONVERSATIONOU go that way. Mental health advocate,
- 1:06Speaker 2: which is something I'm also strongly now involved with as well.
- 1:09Speaker 2: My guest today is comedian Danny Johnson. Dandy, how are
- 1:13Speaker 2: you today.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Look at this. We're doing it. We're doing it finally.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I know I've been We've been messing each other back
- 1:20Speaker 2: and forth, and then I was in and out and
- 1:23Speaker 2: then ghosts for a while. But no, I really appreciate
- 1:27Speaker 2: you coming to the Cantina today. It's been it's been
- 1:29Speaker 2: a long time coming.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah. I like the concept.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I like the name. It stuck out, so no, yeah,
- 1:35Speaker 2: I really appreciate that. Yeah, that was.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That was.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I mean, my wife is kind of inspiration for that.
- 1:41Speaker 2: We uh as, I've I've luted to a couple of episodes.
- 1:43Speaker 2: We are Disney Adults guests who often comes on here.
- 1:46Speaker 2: His name is clickity Klack. He likes to make fun
- 1:49Speaker 2: of me for that, but then every time he goes
- 1:50Speaker 2: down there, he spends more money than what people spend
- 1:52Speaker 2: on a mortgage. And they have a bar there on
- 1:55Speaker 2: there called Oga's and Cantina. And then she's like, why
- 1:58Speaker 2: don't you call it Chucks Canteen. I'm like, okay, great,
- 2:01Speaker 2: what's better than having you know? It's it's a podcast
- 2:05Speaker 2: you listen to wherever you want that's not so far
- 2:06Speaker 2: far away, so yeah, it's uh, it's something where are
- 2:10Speaker 2: you based out of so I'm based out of the
- 2:13Speaker 2: Chicago area. I know on your profiles is you're based
- 2:17Speaker 2: out of the Florida area. Correct.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, weird comedy club there, Zany's.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You know what. We have been trying to go to
- 2:26Speaker 2: Zany's for a while, but like and against one of
- 2:28Speaker 2: those like things like we got that make excuses every
- 2:30Speaker 2: time we try. Like, I've been to a few comedy clubs. Uh,
- 2:33Speaker 2: there's actually unfortunately not so many anymore. There's a there
- 2:37Speaker 2: was a few in Milwaukee. There really isn't at the
- 2:40Speaker 2: moment or last I checked.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:42Speaker 2: But yeah, Chicago, my god, they have Zane They got
- 2:45Speaker 2: like four or five Zanies, these other comedy clubs everywhere.
- 2:49Speaker 2: There's actually one of the northern suburbs for people in
- 2:52Speaker 2: Chicago area near the UH, I believe oak Brook area,
- 2:56Speaker 2: which actually gets some pretty big names. Actually, I think
- 2:58Speaker 2: Ari Spears are just they're not that long ago. They
- 3:01Speaker 2: get again, they get they get some pretty big names there,
- 3:03Speaker 2: which is funny because for me I'm like that's like
- 3:05Speaker 2: a little tiny mall, but like, hey, you know they're here.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Go see.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I think what is the groundlings is in Chicago to
- 3:12Speaker 3: the improv or sketch group.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Oh okay, oh yeah yeah, and then uh oh what
- 3:17Speaker 2: was the big oh man, I forget, like what the
- 3:20Speaker 2: Big Citizens Brigade there too, because so those are the
- 3:23Speaker 2: they pulled from they pulled from there for Saturday Night Live. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:26Speaker 2: that's what I say, because like I think, wasn't what
- 3:28Speaker 2: isn't Farley down he did a couple of things in
- 3:31Speaker 2: Chicago before us.
- 3:32Speaker 3: And now, if if I'm if I remember correctly, Groundlings
- 3:35Speaker 3: a tunnel cast members have come out of the of
- 3:37Speaker 3: the Groundlings in Chicago.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Chicago just not even just the city,
- 3:41Speaker 2: just the general area itself is just a great area
- 3:45Speaker 2: because like I like I live, I don't say exact
- 3:47Speaker 2: where like I'm like in then I'll say I got
- 3:49Speaker 2: the halfway point. No, I'm not gonna say halfway. I'm
- 3:51Speaker 2: closer to Chicago than I am Milwaukee. But for us,
- 3:55Speaker 2: like we can hop on the we can hop on
- 3:56Speaker 2: the highway within like five minutes, like we're that we're
- 3:58Speaker 2: not that far from the major highway to get too.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Oh yeah, good old Wisconsin, good old Op's got the
- 4:05Speaker 2: you know, brandy old fashions, cheese curds, the uh, the
- 4:09Speaker 2: whole brigade.
- 4:10Speaker 3: A buddy of mine moved from Wisconsin to in my
- 4:13Speaker 3: neighborhood and opened up a Culvers, which we had never.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So he so let me get so, he came from
- 4:20Speaker 2: Wisconsin to your neck of the woods in Florida and
- 4:23Speaker 2: open the culvers.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Yeah, so we have now we have the butterburger and
- 4:27Speaker 3: Ostards and the cheese curl Oh.
- 4:30Speaker 2: No, that that is true Wisconsin fashion. That's true Midwestern
- 4:34Speaker 2: nice bringing the goods down there. Oh god, it's funny.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You literally mentioned I swear my wife and I literally
- 4:40Speaker 2: just had Calver's yesterday. I again, it is a place.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I how I put it, I call it. I had
- 4:46Speaker 2: a I have a few family members in Texas, and
- 4:50Speaker 2: don't forget my one cousin. I haven't talked him a
- 4:53Speaker 2: couple of years. He asked me, like, tell me about Like,
- 4:54Speaker 2: how would you describe Culvers? And I literally said, it's
- 4:57Speaker 2: like the quiet in and out Like everyone in the
- 5:00Speaker 2: Midwest knows about it. We just don't talk about it
- 5:02Speaker 2: because we don't want it to get so popular where
- 5:05Speaker 2: they then, you know, said typical Midwest. We don't want
- 5:08Speaker 2: them to raise the prices. I mean that's anywhere. But
- 5:10Speaker 2: like yeah, I hear that there's a you know, there's
- 5:12Speaker 2: a Culvers in Uh, it's just now there's a there's
- 5:14Speaker 2: one in Florida. I'm ptty sure it's actually one not
- 5:16Speaker 2: too far outside the Orlando area too, I know because
- 5:20Speaker 2: actually we also have some friends from California and like
- 5:22Speaker 2: they tell us all the time, like Culver's or let
- 5:26Speaker 2: me trace that drive through.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I got a butter burger and then gave me the
- 5:29Speaker 3: bag and it was already greasy. I'm like, how long
- 5:31Speaker 3: is that burger? Like we just put it.
- 5:33Speaker 2: In, we just cooked it for you know. No. Literally,
- 5:37Speaker 2: A friend of mine from California is like, yeah, I
- 5:39Speaker 2: don't tell any what.
- 5:39Speaker 3: I think.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Culver's is way better than it out. I'm not gonna
- 5:42Speaker 2: I've had it and out only once in Vegas, and
- 5:43Speaker 2: I thought it was I thought the service was amazing.
- 5:46Speaker 2: First off, it made a lot about Culvers, and I
- 5:49Speaker 2: fall in that bad where I think their fries are
- 5:51Speaker 2: not that great. But yeah, just Culvers, It's just it
- 5:54Speaker 2: always it always, it always hits and like, yeah, typical Midwest.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You know, you go to any other burger joint, you
- 5:59Speaker 2: get your burger, your fries, you get a soft drink,
- 6:03Speaker 2: but no culvers. You gotta get a burger, some cheese curves,
- 6:05Speaker 2: you gotta get a concrete mixer.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Man, Yeah, it's uh and then you're so happy when
- 6:10Speaker 3: you're eating it, and then an hour later you're like,
- 6:12Speaker 3: why did I do that to myself?
- 6:15Speaker 2: Well? Yes, but you know what, I'm a big guy myself,
- 6:18Speaker 2: So like my entire life, I'm like, I know what's coming,
- 6:21Speaker 2: but it's worth it.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Temporary dopamine hit.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Oh, You're totally worth it, because like what's better than
- 6:29Speaker 2: a butterburger with fried I mean again, especially with what
- 6:32Speaker 2: fast food costs. And it's like it's pretty and they
- 6:34Speaker 2: really haven't raised their price. It's like, okay, great, I'm
- 6:36Speaker 2: pretty much paying the same for culvers as I would
- 6:37Speaker 2: if I went to McDonald's. So it is no, I
- 6:42Speaker 2: I have nothing. I literally have. I honestly could say
- 6:45Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever had a bad mother, which
- 6:46Speaker 2: is harriss too, because I've obviously been in the Midwest
- 6:49Speaker 2: my entire life. I've been going there and like there's
- 6:52Speaker 2: still there's foods I did on there, like they actually
- 6:54Speaker 2: they have like a I want to say, like a
- 6:57Speaker 2: I don't want, like a pot roast dinner they have
- 6:59Speaker 2: like they have like a cut of like some kind
- 7:01Speaker 2: of roast that you can get and like, I'm like,
- 7:03Speaker 2: my buddy got it. I'm like what He's like, hey,
- 7:05Speaker 2: get like a pot Rolls dinner and I'm like what
- 7:08Speaker 2: is this? And it was like twenty bucks. It was
- 7:10Speaker 2: actually pretty pretty darn good. So I don't I don't
- 7:13Speaker 2: even know, like the Culver's menu is insane, but uh yeah, wow,
- 7:18Speaker 2: I'm glad that you got to enjoy Culvers.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Can you hear my dog going nuts right now?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, don't worry. I'm sure at some point
- 7:25Speaker 2: you're gonna hear my cats going crazy because we get
- 7:28Speaker 2: to my Actually, my cat's kind of like me. They
- 7:31Speaker 2: actually have severe anxiety. So like literally like if even
- 7:35Speaker 2: if he's in the room with me and he walks
- 7:37Speaker 2: out of the room, he'll act like I abandoned him
- 7:39Speaker 2: because I didn't follow him. So you know that's we
- 7:43Speaker 2: You gotta love the pets.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, if I go in my office, he'll
- 7:47Speaker 3: just sit outside the door and wind, So I just
- 7:49Speaker 3: leave it open so we can come and go.
- 7:51Speaker 2: And then of course, you know, dogs come.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Walking by the house as soon as I go on
- 7:56Speaker 3: a podcast.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, No, My favorite is always whenever I'm doing
- 8:02Speaker 2: a podcast with I've done a couple of solo ones,
- 8:04Speaker 2: or I have you know, guests or friends on you know,
- 8:07Speaker 2: I'll this is what I do. I know my animals, like, uh,
- 8:10Speaker 2: we'll call it like digestive schedule. I'll feed them all.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Wait a little bit, I'll start the record button. But
- 8:15Speaker 2: then for some reason, you know, one of them decides
- 8:17Speaker 2: to get this sudden urge of energy and then the
- 8:19Speaker 2: other two just start chasing each other and then all
- 8:21Speaker 2: of a sudden, you just hear stuff falling over or
- 8:23Speaker 2: as I mentioned, my one cat who has very severe
- 8:26Speaker 2: and separation anxiety, he'll start just screaming at me, like
- 8:28Speaker 2: from the other side of the house, and you'll hear
- 8:31Speaker 2: I literally at once had I forget her name, and
- 8:33Speaker 2: it escapes me. She was on the pot, she was
- 8:35Speaker 2: on here. She was promoting this uh this this play
- 8:39Speaker 2: that she that she wrote, directed. Everything was it was
- 8:41Speaker 2: a self play. Was really it was like, Wow, she
- 8:43Speaker 2: did everything by herself, Like good for you. But the
- 8:46Speaker 2: whole time, like we're talking, she's getting really into the
- 8:48Speaker 2: details and like how kind of like tied to like
- 8:50Speaker 2: some like uh, I wanna call it traump, but some
- 8:52Speaker 2: like some emotional things she had going on in her
- 8:55Speaker 2: life and how like really inspired her. And all you
- 8:57Speaker 2: hear is actually she's poored her hard and soult to
- 8:59Speaker 2: the audiency's heart. Hell, I didn't want to interrupt her,
- 9:06Speaker 2: like can't shut up.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Talk about breaking the mood.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Oh my god, but you gotta you gotta sometimes, you
- 9:15Speaker 2: know what I mean, You gotta have those moments too,
- 9:17Speaker 2: like that, Like it's like that's what I'm saying, Like
- 9:19Speaker 2: those like unintentional moments sometimes those are the best moments.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Like you know, like when dogs like just randomly showing
- 9:23Speaker 2: up are like barking, or you know, my cat will
- 9:27Speaker 2: suddenly just start screaming at me for no reason at all,
- 9:29Speaker 2: even though I like before I came on here, I
- 9:31Speaker 2: made sure to like acknowledge him and give him attention.
- 9:34Speaker 2: But it doesn't matter. It's never enough what it is.
- 9:37Speaker 3: And it happens on stage all the time. You'll get it.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Somebody waitress will drop a plate, or somebody will yell
- 9:42Speaker 3: something out.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Or oh god, got ready I could. Actually that's a
- 9:46Speaker 2: good that's actually kind of good. So somebody actually want
- 9:48Speaker 2: to ask you, and I apologize if this kind of
- 9:51Speaker 2: comes out left nothing like too personal by that, I
- 9:52Speaker 2: would make that clear. So do you remember, I'm sure
- 9:56Speaker 2: you remember a couple of years ago. Of course, right
- 10:00Speaker 2: when we get in the conversation, he starts going a
- 10:03Speaker 2: couple of years ago when unfortunately the oscar incident happened
- 10:06Speaker 2: with Will Smith. M hm. Has that is that? I
- 10:10Speaker 2: remember when that happened obviously, like right away, the first
- 10:14Speaker 2: concern was like, great, this is not gonna be unfortunately
- 10:17Speaker 2: like an open invitation almost for people to rush the
- 10:19Speaker 2: stage for comedians, and I know probably the most other
- 10:22Speaker 2: famous one happened not too lot. That was for Dave
- 10:23Speaker 2: Chappelle and thankfully all the major all like the major
- 10:27Speaker 2: I wanna call it like acts like the major, like
- 10:29Speaker 2: ones that like broke out like in the media. Most
- 10:31Speaker 2: of the more stops or actually I think pretty much
- 10:33Speaker 2: all of them were stops to a certain point. Don't
- 10:35Speaker 2: one of got injured anything like that. But have you
- 10:37Speaker 2: noticed it's been like more of a commenty or do
- 10:39Speaker 2: you think that was just like a like something that
- 10:41Speaker 2: people are trying to be like yeah, rush the stage
- 10:43Speaker 2: or do you think that kind of died down or
- 10:44Speaker 2: do you think people are just like, now, I'm just
- 10:45Speaker 2: gonna scream at you for no reason at all.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I think they're sticking to the heckling. It's very rare.
- 10:50Speaker 3: You got to really trigger somebody, you know, if you're
- 10:53Speaker 3: going after someone's girl and the guy's drunk. You know, God,
- 10:57Speaker 3: have you really kind of lean into a sore spot
- 11:01Speaker 3: with the crowd. Yeah, you might get because there's there's
- 11:04Speaker 3: a dozen more, you know, fan altercations with comedians on
- 11:09Speaker 3: you know, on the internet you can look up. But
- 11:12Speaker 3: m it's never really an issue for me. I don't
- 11:15Speaker 3: that's you know, I'm not the I don't want to
- 11:18Speaker 3: say that I'm the least controversial comedian you'll ever hear,
- 11:20Speaker 3: but I don't. I don't find interest in politics. I
- 11:23Speaker 3: don't find you know, clean comic but not cheesy. So
- 11:26Speaker 3: I will tackle any subject I feel I want to
- 11:28Speaker 3: talk about. But I'm not ruffling. I do ruffle feathers,
- 11:32Speaker 3: but it's in a fun poking. You can't not tell
- 11:35Speaker 3: that I'm joking up there. And and even if I
- 11:39Speaker 3: was deadpan, you should know it was a human being
- 11:41Speaker 3: in the audience that this guy's telling jokes. You know,
- 11:44Speaker 3: he's exaggerating.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Which that's always. The thing made me laugh is like
- 11:47Speaker 2: whenever like I see those videos, not like the people
- 11:49Speaker 2: rush it, like the like the hecklers that are getting
- 11:52Speaker 2: like like there's obviously like yeah, like if you obviously
- 11:56Speaker 2: encourage it, like a little bit of like interaction they
- 11:59Speaker 2: talk back to. That's one thing. Like when they're like
- 12:01Speaker 2: literally trying to take over the show and they're like
- 12:03Speaker 2: cussing you out for no reason, it's just like my mine.
- 12:06Speaker 2: First I was like, of course, it's always someone on
- 12:09Speaker 2: the front row and it's like you literally paid to
- 12:11Speaker 2: be there.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't happen too often, but I think the
- 12:15Speaker 3: worst for me is the is the and I don't
- 12:19Speaker 3: even know if you can consider it a heckle. It's
- 12:21Speaker 3: the drunk audience member that loves you and just repeats
- 12:24Speaker 3: your stuff. Oh oh, Like if the punchline is burger king, they'll,
- 12:29Speaker 3: you know, when the joke's over, they're.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Like burger kay, Yeah, I love you.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Oh my god, you're ruining everything, like that joke was
- 12:37Speaker 3: twenty minutes ago. Yeah, oh god. So it's just but
- 12:42Speaker 3: in the you know, I would say earlier in my career,
- 12:44Speaker 3: I've I've booted some people I've dealt with hecklers, but
- 12:47Speaker 3: at this point, you know, people, you know, a lot
- 12:49Speaker 3: of the shows I do are not open to the public,
- 12:51Speaker 3: so it's a it's either a church function, or it's
- 12:53Speaker 3: a corporate gig or a charity event, or even a
- 12:56Speaker 3: neighborhood like we have these master planting communities, I'm sure
- 12:59Speaker 3: all over the kind Sure they have them, and they
- 13:01Speaker 3: have an event, you know, like a little hall that
- 13:04Speaker 3: they rent out and they host a comedy night. Then
- 13:07Speaker 3: they'll have a magic night and a music night and
- 13:09Speaker 3: all that. So it's like they're hiring me because they've
- 13:11Speaker 3: seen some of my stuff. So yeah, you know, they
- 13:14Speaker 3: know what.
- 13:14Speaker 2: They're dead no I And that's the thing I and
- 13:18Speaker 2: I I'm not gonna don't want to say, like I
- 13:21Speaker 2: love the videos, but like i've it's always like that heckler,
- 13:24Speaker 2: Like they'll heckle like the you know, the person on
- 13:25Speaker 2: stage and then like before like that, like you know,
- 13:28Speaker 2: the the convenior. Anyone can even say anything, like almost
- 13:31Speaker 2: like all the audience memer just start like bullying him
- 13:32Speaker 2: like it's a pro wrestling match. Which again, so for
- 13:37Speaker 2: those people, like again, you need to put those people
- 13:39Speaker 2: in their places. Sometimes but yeah, but actually that's actually
- 13:45Speaker 2: that's a question I was actually gonna ask you too,
- 13:47Speaker 2: so like you kind of ready to like you mostly
- 13:50Speaker 2: do like you know, you do like corporate events, uh,
- 13:52Speaker 2: you know, shows at church and stuff like that. Obviously
- 13:55Speaker 2: I know that, you know, Like in your profile that
- 13:58Speaker 2: we met through pod match, you know you right away
- 14:01Speaker 2: it says like you're a clean comedian, do you I think? Okay,
- 14:07Speaker 2: I think there is a there is a route where
- 14:12Speaker 2: a cussword can bring more impact to a joke, a punchline,
- 14:17Speaker 2: a story. But do you feel obviously with like corporate
- 14:21Speaker 2: and church events, you probably have to be a little
- 14:23Speaker 2: restrictive like what you can and cannot say depending on
- 14:25Speaker 2: the company or like the people.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Yeah, they'll tell me what not to touch.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Right, which which one hundred percent makes sense. But do
- 14:31Speaker 2: you feel that a lot of and I'm not saying
- 14:35Speaker 2: like call any certain comedians in particular, but do you
- 14:37Speaker 2: feel like a lot of them like use that like
- 14:38Speaker 2: language just to like almost like I won't say, like
- 14:41Speaker 2: like an escape route, you know what I mean?
- 14:43Speaker 3: A crutch?
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, like a crutch like yeah, like you can't I mean, okay,
- 14:48Speaker 2: what you know, the most famous one of the most
- 14:49Speaker 2: famous ones of all, Like what would the George Carlin
- 14:53Speaker 2: you know, seven Dirty Words be if we didn't have
- 14:55Speaker 2: the dirty words? It just would just be another joke
- 14:57Speaker 2: on a Tuesday night, you know what I mean?
- 15:00Speaker 3: Right? Yeah, I'm all for and I like all sorts
- 15:02Speaker 3: of comedy. I'm not just a clean comedy fan because
- 15:05Speaker 3: I'm a clean comed I like it all and a
- 15:08Speaker 3: well placed vulgarity, you know, is always something I'll enjoy
- 15:13Speaker 3: if it's if it's well done, yeah, in a joke
- 15:15Speaker 3: and it makes sense. But if I'm just going to
- 15:17Speaker 3: the f and grocery store, right, it doesn't it. I'm like,
- 15:23Speaker 3: you know, you could write you know, you got to
- 15:25Speaker 3: be able to write better, but it might still be funny.
- 15:30Speaker 3: You know what do I know? The audience really tells us.
- 15:32Speaker 3: That's the weird dichotomy of comedy, Like we're the comedians
- 15:36Speaker 3: are the experts and funny, but the audience tells us
- 15:38Speaker 3: if we're right. So, you know, like I'm doing, I
- 15:44Speaker 3: have two shows this weekend and they reached out to
- 15:48Speaker 3: me and said, you know, here are your openers. Do
- 15:50Speaker 3: you know them? I said no, and they said, the
- 15:52Speaker 3: guy says, I know you work clean. What do you
- 15:54Speaker 3: want them to do? I said, well, just tell them
- 15:55Speaker 3: I work clean. Let them know they can do whatever.
- 15:58Speaker 3: They can handle it however they want to handle it. Yeah,
- 16:01Speaker 3: you know, I got to be able to follow anybody,
- 16:02Speaker 3: So I'm not here to stifle your creativity. Ideally, i'd
- 16:06Speaker 3: like you to be clean, but I'm not going to
- 16:09Speaker 3: force a comic to do something they're not used to
- 16:12Speaker 3: be doing, you know, used to doing on stage. So
- 16:16Speaker 3: I just think there's a better. Like I first three
- 16:19Speaker 3: to five years, I probably cursed on stage. I'm sure
- 16:21Speaker 3: i'd cursed on stage, not excessively, but eventually, eventually I
- 16:26Speaker 3: came across a couple where the punchline was the curse word,
- 16:29Speaker 3: and I was like, that's just it's you know, cutting
- 16:32Speaker 3: across the infield, so to speak. It's it's not I
- 16:36Speaker 3: could do better.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Well, well, man, I think that's cool. Like that's like
- 16:39Speaker 2: not quote unquote your crutch. But I feel like if like,
- 16:41Speaker 2: if you like, I feel like follow your like for example,
- 16:43Speaker 2: like we can like you you recently hate your special
- 16:45Speaker 2: come out in October on YouTube, but like if you
- 16:48Speaker 2: have like people like who follow you like if you
- 16:50Speaker 2: like for whether it's like any of the times you're
- 16:52Speaker 2: like you were on Peacock or Comedy Central and then
- 16:55Speaker 2: your specialized or let's just say, have a thing like
- 16:56Speaker 2: you're special on YouTube and you throw that one curse
- 16:59Speaker 2: word in there and every one knows, like, okay, like
- 17:00Speaker 2: you don't cuss. It might be one of those things
- 17:02Speaker 2: where it's like oh okay, like because again it's like
- 17:07Speaker 2: like you know, it's like I want to and I'm
- 17:09Speaker 2: not saying like a gimmick, but it's like, oh, like, okay,
- 17:11Speaker 2: I know he doesn't curse, and all of a sudden,
- 17:13Speaker 2: you throw like up, you know, you throw an F
- 17:15Speaker 2: word there. It's like, oh, like like oh god, he
- 17:17Speaker 2: gave me come out, came out of nowhere and really
- 17:19Speaker 2: got me with that one. Because like, yeah, I just
- 17:21Speaker 2: and that's why I like, I I something my wife
- 17:24Speaker 2: and I like, we like, we love watching stand up comedy.
- 17:26Speaker 2: We want to go to more because obviously obviously with
- 17:29Speaker 2: where we are near the Chicago area, like god, it's
- 17:32Speaker 2: like you know, almost have your pick of the litter essentially.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But yeah, and that's the thing too, is just sometimes like, yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 2: I do feel that sometimes some comedians are like I'll
- 17:39Speaker 2: see you'll seem like on some social media platforms where
- 17:41Speaker 2: it's like every third or fourth word they're cussing. Now again,
- 17:44Speaker 2: if they're able to make it work, that's one thing,
- 17:46Speaker 2: but like, yeah, I can't tell you my times I
- 17:48Speaker 2: see it where it's like they would throw like a
- 17:50Speaker 2: random s bomb in there, but it's like, what was
- 17:53Speaker 2: the point of that? Yeah, you know.
- 17:55Speaker 3: And the the biggest compliment that I could get, or
- 17:59Speaker 3: one of the biggest after a show is, and I
- 18:01Speaker 3: get it often, is hey, did you know that you
- 18:04Speaker 3: didn't curse one time up there and you did an hour.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, it's amazing.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I appreciate you paying attention.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean they and they're like, we they were
- 18:15Speaker 3: surprised they enjoyed it as much as they did, because
- 18:18Speaker 3: I don't you know, sometimes I won't advertise as the
- 18:21Speaker 3: clean show if it's an area or a venue I've
- 18:24Speaker 3: been to before where they they they're not excited about it. Yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 3: and then at the end of it, they're like, wow,
- 18:30Speaker 3: that was great and you didn't even curse, So yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 3: I like that. No, I'm not putting myself. I don't
- 18:40Speaker 3: want to come across it. I'm saying it's better or not.
- 18:42Speaker 3: It's just something I choose to do. So it's you know,
- 18:45Speaker 3: like I said, I'm fans of all kinds of comedy.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah no, And I think I think that's commendable because,
- 18:49Speaker 2: like I said, like you're not like you said at first,
- 18:51Speaker 2: you did something a little bit like you're not afraid
- 18:52Speaker 2: to throw it in there if you need to. It's
- 18:54Speaker 2: just I just think I think certain aspects like it
- 19:00Speaker 2: could be a lost start because like, okay, like one
- 19:02Speaker 2: of my favorite and I got unfortunate obviously, Like I
- 19:05Speaker 2: wasn't old enough really to see him when he was
- 19:07Speaker 2: doing seconds, he was pretty much done with that. Is
- 19:08Speaker 2: like Robin Williams, Like I remember his last special I
- 19:11Speaker 2: saw World. Okay, yes, he used a lot of like
- 19:14Speaker 2: foul language, but when he used the words, he made
- 19:17Speaker 2: it mean something. It wasn't just like random like you
- 19:20Speaker 2: know all this is bs. It was like oh no,
- 19:23Speaker 2: like blah blah blah blah, asks like oh hahaha, like
- 19:25Speaker 2: he made it. He made it worthwhile.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Yeah, watching him is like watching him like a machine
- 19:32Speaker 3: gun being fired in a million rounds a second. Just
- 19:36Speaker 3: it's amazing.
- 19:38Speaker 2: No, that honestly, Like I every time I like watch
- 19:41Speaker 2: like any of his movies, like where they're there comedy,
- 19:43Speaker 2: like any anything where he's involved, like anything comedy, like
- 19:46Speaker 2: even if you've seen a hundred times like Jim carry
- 19:49Speaker 2: or like you know what's coming, but you can't help
- 19:52Speaker 2: this but just cackle.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Yeah you know.
- 19:54Speaker 2: And it's like that's why I like love like watching
- 19:56Speaker 2: those like uh, some of those like comedians, like when
- 19:58Speaker 2: they're like when they make that trans over into filmmaking,
- 20:01Speaker 2: like you'll see it a hundred times, but then maybe
- 20:03Speaker 2: you notice them a little bit different because there, you know,
- 20:05Speaker 2: you notice the joke or doing maybe their manurism is
- 20:07Speaker 2: something different you never seen before or stuff like that,
- 20:09Speaker 2: like yeah, I mean Jim Carrey's for example, like just
- 20:12Speaker 2: like any like he just I mean not saying he
- 20:15Speaker 2: didn't just make noises, but like just like his body
- 20:17Speaker 2: language was just comedy in itself.
- 20:19Speaker 3: So yeah, you knew he started out in stand up
- 20:21Speaker 3: that not a lot of people know a famous actor.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Uh, and he was.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Good who with this baby?
- 20:29Speaker 2: Michael Keaton Michael Keaton, bat I did not know that Batman.
- 20:34Speaker 3: He was a stand up comic. That's what he went
- 20:36Speaker 3: to Hollywood to be a stand up and he was
- 20:37Speaker 3: on like this TV show called A and he night
- 20:39Speaker 3: at the Improv where they highlighted yeah comedians, and yeah
- 20:44Speaker 3: he started out as a comic and that's something and
- 20:45Speaker 3: he was good.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I did not know that because I mean and actually
- 20:49Speaker 2: with with how funny like his like delivery, not even
- 20:53Speaker 2: like I mean like not even just like in like
- 20:56Speaker 2: movies obviously, but like in like just any interview he does,
- 20:58Speaker 2: you could tell he.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Knows absolutely and like you see him in Multiplicity or
- 21:06Speaker 3: was it mister Dad or something or or Nanny?
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Even uh the well Beatles juice of course.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Oh god, and.
- 21:16Speaker 3: God what am I? What's the one thing the movie
- 21:18Speaker 3: with Will Ferrell and and Mark Wall the other guys, Yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 3: where he's the bead Beth and beyond manager he talks
- 21:24Speaker 3: about talks about TLC, I mean, talk about comedic timing.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I mean, and it's so funny and I tell people that, like, no,
- 21:31Speaker 3: he never and I was like pull it up, google it.
- 21:35Speaker 2: No, I I just like again, like good timing because
- 21:39Speaker 2: like again, like I'm you ever seen that how I
- 21:41Speaker 2: say commencement speech? Jesus No, I think he went back
- 21:44Speaker 2: to like one of his like his alma mater for
- 21:45Speaker 2: a weekend. You know, they gave him like the Honorary
- 21:47Speaker 2: Doctor I believe it was, you know, they gave him
- 21:50Speaker 2: like this award and then like he literally like you
- 21:52Speaker 2: know he did like the classic. They already gave his speech,
- 21:54Speaker 2: and he's like, if you take anything away from Days,
- 21:57Speaker 2: I remember two words, and he just goes, I'm Batman.
- 21:59Speaker 2: It's just like, you know, these people just like not
- 22:02Speaker 2: saying like they like, I mean, yeah, Michael Keane's like
- 22:04Speaker 2: that'd be pretty sweet, but like that by then it's like, Okay,
- 22:06Speaker 2: I want to get out of here and go home.
- 22:07Speaker 2: But then like when he says that's just like okay,
- 22:09Speaker 2: you know what, I can literally say my graduation ended
- 22:12Speaker 2: with Batman. That are going I'm Batman.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Did you hear that story about that young kid in
- 22:17Speaker 3: kindergartener first grade who kept telling his classmates and teacher
- 22:21Speaker 3: that his uncle is Superman.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Oh that Henry cas Oh my god, And he.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Would get really mad that people would like his teacher
- 22:28Speaker 3: didn't believe in stories. And then Henry Cavill walks him
- 22:31Speaker 3: to school.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Yeah, like imagine like I just imagine that like all
- 22:35Speaker 2: of a sudden, like Henry Cavill just like literally Superman
- 22:38Speaker 2: walks and you're like, wait what And even even if
- 22:41Speaker 2: those kids didn't, like of course right on time, even
- 22:45Speaker 2: if those kids never saw the movie or any of
- 22:47Speaker 2: the promotion, like Henry Cavill himself just looks like a
- 22:50Speaker 2: guy who like literally looks like Superman, of course. And
- 22:54Speaker 2: I can just imagine like that, like literally, even like
- 22:56Speaker 2: if that kid was, you know, seven or eight years old,
- 23:00Speaker 2: for life, for in its entire child, that kid has
- 23:02Speaker 2: nothing but bragget rights. It's like, hey, remember when we
- 23:04Speaker 2: were eight years old and you said my uncle or
- 23:06Speaker 2: whatever was in Superman. Like there's just just like stuff
- 23:10Speaker 2: like that, like when people go out of their way
- 23:11Speaker 2: to do that because you know, like like the celebrities
- 23:14Speaker 2: like whatever they have that like you know that mantra
- 23:16Speaker 2: of like oh, they're not not that they're not people.
- 23:18Speaker 2: They're not people people, but they're like they just don't
- 23:21Speaker 2: want to be around anyone. They're always rude or stuck up.
- 23:24Speaker 2: I don't think it'd be anything further from the truth.
- 23:26Speaker 2: I want smets or actually, okay, this is okay. Have
- 23:29Speaker 2: you ever heard of the wrestler? I don't ever told
- 23:31Speaker 2: the story any you ever hear of the wrestler named
- 23:33Speaker 2: Stone could see Boston. Yes, So I don't remember how
- 23:38Speaker 2: my mother happened to bump into him. She was at
- 23:41Speaker 2: a music festival. She was there for work, and she
- 23:45Speaker 2: took and she was with a couple of family like
- 23:47Speaker 2: other family friends. But it was like it's a work event,
- 23:49Speaker 2: so obviously you can't bring you know, kids and stuff
- 23:51Speaker 2: like that. And she had told me I knew prior
- 23:55Speaker 2: she was going to meet him or that he would
- 23:57Speaker 2: be there, and she's like, yeah, try, I'm sorry, I can't.
- 23:59Speaker 2: And for me, like this is like my childhood hero.
- 24:01Speaker 2: And I'm like, really, mom, you can't take me to
- 24:04Speaker 2: meet the childhood hero of mine, you know. But I
- 24:07Speaker 2: was like, okay, whatever. And next thing, you know, I'll
- 24:09Speaker 2: never forget. My dad and I were outside and his
- 24:11Speaker 2: phone kept going off, and all of a sudden, like
- 24:13Speaker 2: I just get this like two minute voicemail of like
- 24:16Speaker 2: this is two thousand and one, so of course cell phone,
- 24:18Speaker 2: you know, reception was mid right, and all of a sudden,
- 24:23Speaker 2: it's literally I literally got you know, Stone col C.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Boston on my dad's voice message machine, just saying hey Charlie,
- 24:29Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh God, like what do I do
- 24:32Speaker 2: and like the fact that like he took that time
- 24:34Speaker 2: to do that, you know, and like I'm not trying
- 24:36Speaker 2: to say, like my mom just like took the phones,
- 24:37Speaker 2: like here, say something to my son.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Right I Like, I like seeing on social media where
- 24:45Speaker 3: I think it's Tom Hanks who's really famous for it
- 24:48Speaker 3: takes pictures with people that are passed out or sleeping
- 24:50Speaker 3: or not paying attent like and no one has like
- 24:53Speaker 3: their friend take a picture, like cause this guy's gonna
- 24:55Speaker 3: be so mad when he wakes up and could admit
- 24:57Speaker 3: Tom Hanks.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Like again, just like imagine that, like you wake up
- 25:03Speaker 2: and like all your friends are just like pointing and
- 25:05Speaker 2: laughing at you. And of course, first you're gonna do
- 25:06Speaker 2: You're gonna check your face, okay, like who drew like
- 25:08Speaker 2: who drew a penis on me? Or like you know,
- 25:11Speaker 2: who did what to me? And then all of sudden
- 25:13Speaker 2: it's gonna showing your phone like oh yeah, no, Tom
- 25:15Speaker 2: Hanks sat next to you.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he dropped by for a little while. We all
- 25:18Speaker 3: met him and talked.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and like they all got pictures of him like
- 25:22Speaker 2: doing selfies and then here's you just passed out on
- 25:24Speaker 2: a bench. And of course again like the like the
- 25:27Speaker 2: the giant like wave or like you know, just like
- 25:30Speaker 2: this cloud of darkness that would just come over me.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Like I like literally Woody from Toy Story Forst. Gump
- 25:37Speaker 2: just sat next to me just to like be in
- 25:39Speaker 2: on a gag with my friends on my expense, and
- 25:42Speaker 2: I missed it. I actually did not know that that up.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Oh my god. Well, and like the number one too
- 25:53Speaker 2: is like, uh, which is I'm not sure if you're
- 25:56Speaker 2: I follow I've really I'm a I'm a film fanatic
- 26:00Speaker 2: film and I like not even just like the just
- 26:02Speaker 2: movies or just like the makings of movies and stuff
- 26:05Speaker 2: like that, and like the business side of it. Uh,
- 26:08Speaker 2: you've if you see like the uh the stuff like
- 26:11Speaker 2: word Uh. I want to call him by his character name,
- 26:13Speaker 2: but Johnny Depp to this day, he still dresses up
- 26:16Speaker 2: as Jack Sparrow and he'll go to like you know,
- 26:19Speaker 2: children's hospitals. And it's no secret that him and Disney,
- 26:22Speaker 2: like I mean, with all this stuff that happened, like
- 26:24Speaker 2: with the court, like they had a pretty big falling out,
- 26:26Speaker 2: but like they to say, now he'll he'll still you know,
- 26:28Speaker 2: get the get the costume. Disney will work with him
- 26:31Speaker 2: on it, and he'll still go to children's hospitals and
- 26:33Speaker 2: like just hang out with kids, just like.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I love I love that trial. By the way, that
- 26:37Speaker 3: was great. I pint a mega pint of wine, a
- 26:44Speaker 3: mega pint.
- 26:47Speaker 2: My My my favorite is Hamper heards it's turney. I
- 26:50Speaker 2: forget what the guy's name was on the stand. This
- 26:53Speaker 2: is like your fifteen minutes of fame, and he goes,
- 26:55Speaker 2: I could argue, this is your fifteen minutes fame. You
- 26:57Speaker 2: take out a big client like Emperord.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I think my favorite moment was the Amber
- 27:04Speaker 3: Herd's lawyer says to Johnny Depp, you know you're you're
- 27:06Speaker 3: you're a considerable size bigger than Amber. Heard right, And
- 27:10Speaker 3: Johnny Dipp's.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Like no, and her face is just so good. You
- 27:17Speaker 2: didn't say no, He's just just I remember that. And
- 27:22Speaker 2: then or like when they zoomed in Jason Momoa, he looked.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Like he was half in the bag, like literally like
- 27:33Speaker 4: like if there was ever like a thing where it's like, oh, this.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Is clearly AI like we were. That trial was clearly
- 27:40Speaker 2: like two or three years too early. It's like half
- 27:43Speaker 2: the stuff that happened in that trial, Oh my God,
- 27:47Speaker 2: and the amount I can't remember the amount of people
- 27:50Speaker 2: that I knew, not even just in my first life
- 27:52Speaker 2: in my office that would go right away, like I
- 27:55Speaker 2: work in like I don't get to I deals, like
- 27:57Speaker 2: what I do.
- 27:58Speaker 3: I do?
- 27:58Speaker 2: I work with like compliant stuff. And the amount of
- 28:02Speaker 2: times where like we be talking about like okay, oh
- 28:03Speaker 2: did this happen and then someone to scream hearsay for
- 28:09Speaker 2: because every seemed like understandably so it's a lawyer's job,
- 28:13Speaker 2: of course, Like every two seconds someone was objecting to
- 28:16Speaker 2: hears say it or something like oh my god, no,
- 28:22Speaker 2: I like literally, I can't wait for when in like
- 28:25Speaker 2: twenty or thirty years, fax acides to make the Johnny
- 28:28Speaker 2: Depp amber Her Trials a TV show. Yeah, because that's
- 28:31Speaker 2: what they do with any controversial thing that's happened in
- 28:34Speaker 2: real life. They make a show out of it, because
- 28:36Speaker 2: why not. But oh man, that'll be funny. Maybe maybe
- 28:41Speaker 2: maybe you can play uh the uh you can play.
- 28:43Speaker 3: The lawyer that has about the mega p Yeah, I
- 28:46Speaker 3: want to play the I don't know what he was
- 28:48Speaker 3: on the stand, but it was a really older guy.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I'm not as old as this guy, but he was
- 28:52Speaker 3: doing some weird stuff with his face in his mouth
- 28:54Speaker 3: like oh yeah, like opening it wide and then like dry.
- 28:58Speaker 3: It was all dry, man, I don't know what was
- 29:00Speaker 3: And then Johnny Depp's even looking at him and talking
- 29:02Speaker 3: to his lawyer like what the heck is this gonna do?
- 29:05Speaker 2: I just that I literally like that's like one of
- 29:08Speaker 2: those like things like literally like doesn't matter where you were,
- 29:12Speaker 2: what your job was, like everyone's phone or computer was
- 29:15Speaker 2: on that like just like looking at the screen, just
- 29:17Speaker 2: like okay, what's the next crazy thing that's gonna happen?
- 29:19Speaker 2: Like nothing like anything bad, thank god, like happened in
- 29:22Speaker 2: that court room. But it's just like what's like And
- 29:24Speaker 2: it wasn't even like the funny thing again, it wasn't
- 29:26Speaker 2: even Johnny or Amber it was their lawyers.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like it was like they were it
- 29:32Speaker 3: was a TV show cast around them.
- 29:36Speaker 2: It's like it's it's literally it was literally like okay.
- 29:39Speaker 2: The Johnny Depp v Amber Herd Trial written by Joey
- 29:42Speaker 2: trib Right, I just again at yeah, oh my god. Well,
- 29:56Speaker 2: one thing I do want to we could take transition
- 29:58Speaker 2: little bit here. I want to ask you about something again.
- 30:02Speaker 2: I do appreciate not like you not I even talked
- 30:05Speaker 2: about it. Well, actually we kind of did a little
- 30:07Speaker 2: bit through the messaging you did put in in your
- 30:10Speaker 2: like your profile that you are a mental health advocate.
- 30:13Speaker 2: That is something I think is very important, especially in
- 30:15Speaker 2: today's age, with mental health awareness rising, more people are
- 30:21Speaker 2: coming to the understanding, thankfully that you know, the mental
- 30:23Speaker 2: health is something important that they also may actually need
- 30:25Speaker 2: some help with, like some mental health stuff we don't
- 30:28Speaker 2: need to get like obviously we don't need like two
- 30:30Speaker 2: personal her in terms like like what led you down
- 30:31Speaker 2: to that road and stuff like that. But one thing
- 30:35Speaker 2: I would like to just ask you is I do
- 30:39Speaker 2: I am a huge firm believer that you know, laughter
- 30:41Speaker 2: is the best medicine for certain situations. But is something
- 30:46Speaker 2: like this is comedy kind of like what are uh?
- 30:52Speaker 2: Is mental health? Kind of like what got you into
- 30:54Speaker 2: comedy a little bit? Or like what really made you?
- 30:56Speaker 2: Or Okay, here's here's the question. I think it's pretty big,
- 30:59Speaker 2: even into day's age for people to be like, hey,
- 31:01Speaker 2: I'm in mental health advocates, Like what really kind of
- 31:03Speaker 2: like made you be? Like, hey, I want to put
- 31:06Speaker 2: myself out there for something to like to see.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Yeah, great question. No, because it didn't hit me until
- 31:11Speaker 3: later in life, probably ten years ago, post divorce, and
- 31:17Speaker 3: that wasn't the only trigger, but it was the first time.
- 31:22Speaker 3: And it's it's very demasculating as a man, as you
- 31:27Speaker 3: can imagine or no, to finally admit.
- 31:30Speaker 2: That you have.
- 31:32Speaker 3: You need to process some stuff, you needed to get help. Yeah,
- 31:36Speaker 3: because it was the first time in my life that
- 31:38Speaker 3: I had felt in a dark place and mentally and
- 31:43Speaker 3: physically unable to get out of it, like I you know,
- 31:47Speaker 3: in the but prior to that, I had been in
- 31:49Speaker 3: a bad mood. I'm like, oh, I'll go hang out
- 31:51Speaker 3: with some buddies, or I'll get out and wrn whatever
- 31:53Speaker 3: I'll do. And it was just something passing. I didn't
- 31:56Speaker 3: put too much thought into it, and before you know it,
- 31:58Speaker 3: I'm fine. So I never really took mental health seriously.
- 32:04Speaker 3: And then I started getting into you know, after various
- 32:06Speaker 3: events and things and relationships and stuff. I was like,
- 32:10Speaker 3: I can't get at I can't believe. I'm embarrassed that
- 32:14Speaker 3: I can't get out of this dark spot in my
- 32:18Speaker 3: head that I can't what what I know. I have
- 32:20Speaker 3: social anxiety already, so I'm dealing with that. But what
- 32:23Speaker 3: is this woes me, you know, dark feeling and had
- 32:29Speaker 3: I just had to finally get help, you know, get
- 32:35Speaker 3: a therapist, talk to my doctors about what's going on.
- 32:38Speaker 3: How do I you know, and then it would you know,
- 32:40Speaker 3: every time I comedy is very therapeutic. Writing is even
- 32:43Speaker 3: more therapeutic. There's you know, ten percent of what I
- 32:45Speaker 3: write makes it to the stage. Five percent of that
- 32:48Speaker 3: gets thrown away, So it's it's a huge it's very
- 32:52Speaker 3: therapeutic writing and performing. Even if you bomb, which you know,
- 32:58Speaker 3: for me at this point in my career, it's more
- 33:00Speaker 3: along the lines of a new joke not going the
- 33:02Speaker 3: way I want it, you know, there's there's not too
- 33:04Speaker 3: much bombing at this point other than when you're trying
- 33:07Speaker 3: new material. Yeah, but yeah, so I would like to
- 33:12Speaker 3: I try to encourage men because it is it's almost
- 33:15Speaker 3: almost equated to when you hurt if you if you've
- 33:17Speaker 3: ever hurt your back as a man, Yeah, it is
- 33:22Speaker 3: debilitating and emasculating because you can do nothing. You can't
- 33:26Speaker 3: put your own socks on, you can't get up by yourself,
- 33:30Speaker 3: sit down by yourself, you know, And that's the equivalent
- 33:33Speaker 3: to me mentally of depression. And that's very frustrating to
- 33:39Speaker 3: kind of embrace and realize, you know, hey, you can't
- 33:42Speaker 3: do this by yourself, right, but yeah, so you know,
- 33:46Speaker 3: and then unfortunately a lot of men especially will just
- 33:50Speaker 3: never address it, pass it down and you know, either
- 33:54Speaker 3: deal with it with a bad addiction of some sort.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and of course, right when you're games this really
- 34:01Speaker 2: like sense of top My dogs are the black I apologize.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I wish it was the cat me.
- 34:08Speaker 2: No I And I think I think for men especially
- 34:11Speaker 2: like it's it's becoming, thankfully, mind you more common because
- 34:14Speaker 2: like I was in that same boat where I was
- 34:16Speaker 2: like I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, and then like
- 34:19Speaker 2: one day I was just like like what the like
- 34:21Speaker 2: what the without saying it, what am I doing? You know?
- 34:25Speaker 2: And uh, as I alluded to it, I've been I've
- 34:27Speaker 2: came mind on the podcast and I kind of alluke like, hey,
- 34:29Speaker 2: here's why I've been gone for a little while, YadA, YadA, YadA,
- 34:31Speaker 2: you know, because like you know, I have got ADHD
- 34:34Speaker 2: and like we did an episode. I did episode with
- 34:36Speaker 2: a common guest his nickname shag Zilla, and it's just
- 34:39Speaker 2: funny because like we're both kind of going through this
- 34:41Speaker 2: journey together a little bit and like and here's the thing, guys,
- 34:45Speaker 2: and I will say this for any guy talk or
- 34:48Speaker 2: how I put it, if you heard that classic like
- 34:51Speaker 2: U meme or matra that like you know, like all
- 34:53Speaker 2: the girls hang out and and when they when they're
- 34:56Speaker 2: when their boyfriend or husband or spouse asked me a question,
- 34:59Speaker 2: they can detail every single thing about that conversation that happened.
- 35:01Speaker 2: But when a girl asked about like oh, hey, so
- 35:03Speaker 2: and so, like yeah, so and so broke up, what happened?
- 35:05Speaker 2: I don't know right right, But like guys, it's like, no,
- 35:10Speaker 2: we should talk to each other and like really get
- 35:12Speaker 2: into details. Because for example, like one of my friends,
- 35:15Speaker 2: like one of my closest this is a guy who
- 35:16Speaker 2: was in my wedding for Christ's sake, and I had
- 35:20Speaker 2: no idea who was going through this stuff. He had
- 35:22Speaker 2: no idea I was going through this stuff. So then
- 35:24Speaker 2: we talked to her for like two minutes and he's like, wait,
- 35:28Speaker 2: you're doing this. I'm like yeah, and he's like why
- 35:31Speaker 2: did And we're both like why didn't you say anything?
- 35:35Speaker 2: Like I don't know because it's like and like and
- 35:38Speaker 2: by the way, like my father was never like a
- 35:40Speaker 2: whole like keep your feelings. No, he was never like that.
- 35:42Speaker 2: He was like, no, like if you if you got
- 35:43Speaker 2: something to say, kids say it. You know what I mean. Yeah,
- 35:46Speaker 2: He's like, if I disagree with you, we'll get we'll
- 35:48Speaker 2: talk it. I don't get through it, you know. I
- 35:49Speaker 2: just stuff like that. Same with same with my pop,
- 35:51Speaker 2: my stepdad, same thing. But yeah, just like we had
- 35:55Speaker 2: just there's just just like weird puppeteer of like life
- 35:59Speaker 2: where it's like cannot express feelings and like in the
- 36:02Speaker 2: last two years alone, just like what like like it's
- 36:06Speaker 2: one of those things where I feel so much better now.
- 36:09Speaker 3: The fact that you obviously want to find the right people,
- 36:11Speaker 3: the right person or people right you know. Oh yeah,
- 36:14Speaker 3: and you can kind of poke the bear with a buddy,
- 36:16Speaker 3: you know, and then talk even talk casually about it,
- 36:19Speaker 3: like hey man, you ever mess with that mental health
- 36:21Speaker 3: stuff or anything ever? You know, kind of feel like
- 36:25Speaker 3: you get being held back mentally or something, and then
- 36:27Speaker 3: oh yeah, blow it off. You just move on, you
- 36:29Speaker 3: get you find somebody else, you know, don't spill your
- 36:32Speaker 3: guts to somebody who's an idiot, you know.
- 36:34Speaker 2: No, I'm the perfect I literally have done that I
- 36:37Speaker 2: used to, like my wife feel like we ke like
- 36:40Speaker 2: and here's the thing again, calm. I think laughter is
- 36:42Speaker 2: one of the best, like healing things, and like not
- 36:45Speaker 2: saying like I need healing, like everyone needs healing in
- 36:47Speaker 2: some sort, but like I used to joke saying like
- 36:49Speaker 2: I used to say I was fine, I didn't need
- 36:51Speaker 2: any help, and now I have two therapists and a
- 36:53Speaker 2: psychiatrists and like I and like sometimes like I'll talk
- 36:58Speaker 2: to like my friends or like okay for example, like
- 37:01Speaker 2: I'll you know, I'll like I I'll like make light
- 37:04Speaker 2: of it in a joking way. Then they look at
- 37:06Speaker 2: it and I'm like, guys, like I'm okay, but like
- 37:08Speaker 2: I'm I'm not like I'm not saying like I'm not okay,
- 37:11Speaker 2: but it's like, hey, no, I'm okay. I'm talking to
- 37:15Speaker 2: professionals about stuff. But I can also cope with it
- 37:19Speaker 2: my way because it's better because especially with like like
- 37:23Speaker 2: the whole like guy's holding stuff back. It's like, Okay,
- 37:24Speaker 2: it's better, I like express this to you now. Then
- 37:27Speaker 2: in two years you find out, wow, Chuck, you really
- 37:30Speaker 2: have changed a lot, like what happened, And then I
- 37:31Speaker 2: take us whole to your journey, and of course every
- 37:35Speaker 2: I can give you this whole somber story of like
- 37:39Speaker 2: all these events, some highs low said thing. And the
- 37:42Speaker 2: first thing that it doesn't matter what what you take
- 37:45Speaker 2: away from that story, The first thing that guy is
- 37:46Speaker 2: gonna respond with, because that's what we do stupidly, is
- 37:49Speaker 2: why didn't you say anything, to which every guy's response
- 37:52Speaker 2: is I don't know. It's like, let's stop that crap.
- 37:55Speaker 3: You don't even have to get into the details of
- 37:57Speaker 3: your you know what caused all this or the series
- 38:00Speaker 3: of events that calls all this. You can just say,
- 38:02Speaker 3: you know, this is someone something, someone did me wrong.
- 38:05Speaker 3: This is how it impacted me. I'm not going to
- 38:07Speaker 3: go into the details, name names, yeah, but can I
- 38:11Speaker 3: share with you something that I started to do that
- 38:14Speaker 3: I'm not always good at. But please, and this may
- 38:18Speaker 3: sound silly to some, but it's worked for me, especially
- 38:20Speaker 3: with my I have a little bit of OCD. If
- 38:23Speaker 3: I ever wake up and I'm already in, don't I've
- 38:27Speaker 3: woken up in that dark place before, and so I
- 38:30Speaker 3: started to talk to my darkness, depression, whatever you want
- 38:34Speaker 3: to call it. I started to disassociate from it. I
- 38:37Speaker 3: talked to it and I would just say not today,
- 38:40Speaker 3: like it's a different person.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yea.
- 38:42Speaker 3: And the first thing I would do was get up
- 38:44Speaker 3: and make my bed, and I never do that. And
- 38:48Speaker 3: in my head, I would go, I just accomplished something.
- 38:51Speaker 3: And then I would make a list, eat breakfast, brush
- 38:53Speaker 3: your teeth, take a shower, write for an hour, read
- 38:55Speaker 3: for an hour, walk the dog, and I would have
- 38:57Speaker 3: this little yellow pan and I would just start get
- 39:00Speaker 3: out in the sun and I would just start checking
- 39:02Speaker 3: off all these normal little things that we do every day.
- 39:05Speaker 3: And I'm like just talking to that darkness, like not today,
- 39:08Speaker 3: and like, look, I already accomplished seven things and it's
- 39:10Speaker 3: eight o'clock in the morning. Not today, And a lot
- 39:14Speaker 3: of times that'll physically and biologically get you. Now, this
- 39:17Speaker 3: is putting chemical in balance, aside, medications aside.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Mm.
- 39:21Speaker 3: It sort of puts you in this. I can't believe
- 39:23Speaker 3: how much of a comp this is gonna be a
- 39:25Speaker 3: good day.
- 39:26Speaker 2: No, I I think that's first off thing for sharing that.
- 39:30Speaker 2: I think that's awesome commenable because like, actually that's something
- 39:35Speaker 2: I used to be the whole Okay, I'm gonna literally
- 39:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna speak out to you. I'm gonna give you
- 39:41Speaker 2: a whole itinerary of like, here's what we gotta do. Okay,
- 39:44Speaker 2: here's the game plan. A, B, C, D, E, F, G,
- 39:48Speaker 2: and I would maybe get through M through OH and
- 39:55Speaker 2: M and O were probably the three most or three
- 39:58Speaker 2: least important things on that entire lia list. But now
- 40:01Speaker 2: since I literally like six months ago, I literally like
- 40:04Speaker 2: my one therapist is like, like, look, just write it down.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Just write stuff down. And by the way, I want
- 40:09Speaker 2: to make this clear you a little back to like, look,
- 40:11Speaker 2: it's okay if you don't work with this out with
- 40:13Speaker 2: one therapist. This therapist, it didn't work out, which is
- 40:16Speaker 2: and as we had a we had a human conversation,
- 40:19Speaker 2: It's okay. That's the way it is. Everyone's not fit
- 40:22Speaker 2: for everybody. And now I have this new one and
- 40:24Speaker 2: I have nothing but high praise. But I though the
- 40:27Speaker 2: good things say about the other one. Just we have
- 40:28Speaker 2: it's just different sometimes styles clash. It is what it is.
- 40:31Speaker 3: And then hopefully you'll get to a place too where
- 40:32Speaker 3: you can make this long list and then check stuff off.
- 40:35Speaker 3: But it's okay if you don't get to it all,
- 40:36Speaker 3: you know, Yes, it's sort of like a base like
- 40:39Speaker 3: a a baseline of like here's any Sometimes I'll break
- 40:42Speaker 3: it into three sheets. Want to need to have to.
- 40:45Speaker 3: I need to go food shopping, I want to take
- 40:47Speaker 3: a nap, I want to go see my girlfriend. I
- 40:49Speaker 3: need to take a shower, I need to. But so
- 40:52Speaker 3: it's one need have to you know things too, and
- 40:55Speaker 3: it's like it's it provides a structure and a little
- 40:59Speaker 3: bit of a goal thing and then you don't have
- 41:01Speaker 3: to do all of them. It's just just it's a
- 41:04Speaker 3: very but to me, you know, I haven't named my
- 41:07Speaker 3: depression or darkness yet, but I just talked to it
- 41:10Speaker 3: like it's another person.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's nothing wrong with that because like I
- 41:13Speaker 2: used to be the whole and here's the thing too.
- 41:16Speaker 2: I'm also not afraid of It's it's okay not to
- 41:22Speaker 2: fall back into it permanently. It's okay to I think
- 41:23Speaker 2: it's okay to sometimes fall back into that like normalcy.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Maybe we're just like you're not doing the things you've
- 41:31Speaker 2: blren down because again, it rome wasn't on the day.
- 41:35Speaker 2: You gotta find it what you gotta go through those
- 41:36Speaker 2: because like I said, I used to be the whole,
- 41:38Speaker 2: like where I would think like every little thing that
- 41:41Speaker 2: went wrong was excuse mean everything Well the rong was
- 41:44Speaker 2: like the world against me. But it's like, okay, perfect example.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Literally this and it's this was not playing. This literally
- 41:48Speaker 2: happened yesterday. I took my car in last weekend to
- 41:51Speaker 2: get some stuff. It's nothing major, just a couple of
- 41:53Speaker 2: check ups. Do the oil change, do this, do a
- 41:55Speaker 2: bunch of other like tune ups, like stuff that like
- 41:57Speaker 2: I'm not a mechanic, I'm not a tool guy. Can't
- 42:00Speaker 2: do it. Sorry, And literally we left and or Saturday
- 42:06Speaker 2: night cars fine, Sunday morning, we hear this noise and
- 42:09Speaker 2: it's constant. Call them right away, schedule the appointment. But
- 42:11Speaker 2: they can't. Of course, like any dealership, like any place,
- 42:13Speaker 2: they can't get me right away. I get it. One
- 42:15Speaker 2: of my best friends was a mechanic I know's and
- 42:17Speaker 2: that's the thing I think white mechanics like whenever I
- 42:19Speaker 2: talked to him, they're like a little hesitant because they're
- 42:21Speaker 2: they're waiting for my a guy my size to go
- 42:23Speaker 2: hey at her, which I'm not like that. It's like
- 42:25Speaker 2: why why would I yell at a guy working and
- 42:27Speaker 2: I think he can kill me? So but literally, as
- 42:32Speaker 2: I'm driving there yesterday. I literally said I can't. I said, okay, look,
- 42:36Speaker 2: I'm not gonna wait for this, like, I got to
- 42:37Speaker 2: take it to another shop, get him checked it out,
- 42:41Speaker 2: and lo and behold, they said nothing was wrong with
- 42:43Speaker 2: my car. I'm like, okay, I don't understand that, but okay.
- 42:47Speaker 2: I leave the shop. I'm driving. I hear the noise
- 42:51Speaker 2: I said, I heard, and by this wasn't like a
- 42:53Speaker 2: whole like like little time. This is like a really
- 42:56Speaker 2: loud noise. They're like, I don't know how they didn't
- 42:57Speaker 2: hear it. I pulled the car over. I find a
- 43:00Speaker 2: nail in my tire. I go back. Now this is
- 43:04Speaker 2: the part where probably their weight they're they're they're waiting
- 43:07Speaker 2: for me to yell at them, mf this, how dare
- 43:12Speaker 2: you that? And I'm like, no, I didn't raise my voice.
- 43:14Speaker 2: I was calm even when they said, hey, look, because
- 43:17Speaker 2: of this this we we're gonna have to charge you
- 43:18Speaker 2: for it. And I'm like, hey, look, blah blah blah,
- 43:21Speaker 2: you guys missed this. YadA ya da YadA. They gave
- 43:23Speaker 2: me phone numbers to call, like okay, and then like
- 43:26Speaker 2: it's just one of those things where and I think
- 43:28Speaker 2: it was one of those things where it took because
- 43:29Speaker 2: of how a lot it took. Essentially, I felt like
- 43:32Speaker 2: I loss a day, and I kind of fell back
- 43:35Speaker 2: into that old trend of like feeling defeated when it's
- 43:39Speaker 2: like okay, And I kept telling them here's the thing is,
- 43:42Speaker 2: Like I kept saying okay, like as I kept going
- 43:44Speaker 2: through all this stuff, like okay, I can do this now,
- 43:46Speaker 2: get this thing fixed. I lose a day, or god forbid,
- 43:50Speaker 2: myself and my wife are driving the car somewhere and
- 43:52Speaker 2: we get a flat, we're stuck on the side of
- 43:53Speaker 2: the road. I'd rather lose that day, but okay. And
- 43:56Speaker 2: then this morning when I woke up, I was like, look,
- 43:59Speaker 2: you know what, it sucked. I kind of fell back
- 44:01Speaker 2: in that old trait where I didn't raise my voice.
- 44:03Speaker 2: I wasn't rude, but I felt like delivery of doom.
- 44:06Speaker 2: But I'm like, hey, I can move past it, and
- 44:08Speaker 2: like today I had a great day, not a problem.
- 44:10Speaker 2: I'm not feeling great. That's because I had talked about
- 44:13Speaker 2: last night.
- 44:13Speaker 3: So I get what I am a lot of times
- 44:15Speaker 3: in my head to go if I lose my cool
- 44:16Speaker 3: right now with this person, what what benefit would that be?
- 44:20Speaker 3: What right, I'm gonna raise my heart right in blood pressure.
- 44:23Speaker 3: I'm not gonna get my thing fixed any faster.
- 44:26Speaker 2: And you know, and what's gonna happen. They're gonna they're
- 44:29Speaker 2: gonna talk to their boss or whatever, and their boss
- 44:32Speaker 2: is gonna be like, oh, they're a rudio. Why would
- 44:33Speaker 2: we help them? Which which makes sense.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I try to throw a little humor. I'll use sometimes.
- 44:39Speaker 3: I'll use a line like if it's a place I've
- 44:42Speaker 3: been at for too long, whether it's the service department
- 44:45Speaker 3: of a car or I'm getting something whatever, a tail
- 44:48Speaker 3: or something, Yeah, go hey, as much as I like you,
- 44:51Speaker 3: I don't want to be here. That's a good one,
- 44:54Speaker 3: as I really like talking to you. But I have
- 44:57Speaker 3: so much to do today.
- 44:58Speaker 2: If we could, well, I I swear, I swear to God.
- 45:02Speaker 2: The car plays I go to usually to get my
- 45:05Speaker 2: car work done, obviously I didn't go to that one
- 45:07Speaker 2: yesterday because like where I was like, look, I'm not
- 45:09Speaker 2: not risking it, not driving that far. Nope, not doing exactly.
- 45:12Speaker 2: It's coming home from work. But the place I go to,
- 45:14Speaker 2: there's this guy. He's not a mechanic, he's like he
- 45:16Speaker 2: works like at the service desk, he does the appointments
- 45:19Speaker 2: and like all the essentially to purchasing and like the
- 45:21Speaker 2: money stuff. And I'm not joking. This guy is like
- 45:25Speaker 2: a older gentleman, got a thick beard, kind of long
- 45:28Speaker 2: gray hair, and every time I look up, I literally
- 45:32Speaker 2: he swear he sounds like Sam Elliott, the guy from
- 45:35Speaker 2: the cors like commercials for those that don't know. And
- 45:38Speaker 2: I literally like once, I literally like once, as has
- 45:41Speaker 2: anyone ever told you? And he literally goes that does
- 45:42Speaker 2: sound like Sam Elliott like and like the guy literally again,
- 45:50Speaker 2: I'm I'm I'm working, I get the voice acting, and
- 45:52Speaker 2: I swear the guy right on the spot try to
- 45:55Speaker 2: like break into like a Dodge Forward commercial. He but
- 46:00Speaker 2: again he put humor in it because he knew I
- 46:04Speaker 2: was a little upset because I remember, like what I
- 46:07Speaker 2: think I came in for something like a quick like
- 46:09Speaker 2: hey can just check on this, and it was taking
- 46:11Speaker 2: too long but right away because like most places, if
- 46:14Speaker 2: you show up not scheduled, you're gonna have to wait.
- 46:19Speaker 2: And literally like the guy was nothing but nice. He
- 46:21Speaker 2: didn't have he didn't have to go out of his
- 46:23Speaker 2: way to make me feel like, you know, like, oh,
- 46:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna try to like you know, sem
- 46:27Speaker 2: Elliott like monologue this kid. No, But like it's just
- 46:29Speaker 2: stuff like that. It's like because again like if I
- 46:31Speaker 2: yell you, what's I can accomplish? Nothing?
- 46:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it's when I see people in public, you know
- 46:37Speaker 3: that du that I'm like, this is first of all
- 46:39Speaker 3: your your things going to the back of the line.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Now, Like oh, you're like like, oh, like anytime you
- 46:46Speaker 2: go any like like anytime you see people yelling at
- 46:48Speaker 2: people at the airport, it's like it's not their call.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Yeah, there was. I was in the the our cable
- 46:54Speaker 3: Company's Infinity and I was returning everything because I went
- 46:57Speaker 3: to streaming only in the store and some guy was next.
- 47:01Speaker 3: There's an older guy, sixties seventies, and he was really
- 47:04Speaker 3: upset about something, and he was talking to one of
- 47:06Speaker 3: the other associates and he goes, he goes, I don't know,
- 47:10Speaker 3: it's just a bunch of it's all a bunch of bs,
- 47:12Speaker 3: and he said the cursor real loud. He was yet
- 47:14Speaker 3: at this young girl, and everyone's head whipped and turned
- 47:17Speaker 3: and looked at him, and I locked eyes with him,
- 47:22Speaker 3: and I was the only one that didn't break eye contact,
- 47:25Speaker 3: and I just kept I was like, I should say something,
- 47:28Speaker 3: but I'm not. I'm just gonna see what he does
- 47:29Speaker 3: if I just keep staring at him. And sure enough,
- 47:32Speaker 3: I stared at him long enough to he was surprised
- 47:34Speaker 3: I didn't break eye contact, as I'm you know, not
- 47:37Speaker 3: afraid of confrontation, and so he finally just said, I'm sorry, man,
- 47:43Speaker 3: look I'm just trying to get this resolved. So I
- 47:45Speaker 3: was like, oh, there's a little change in tone there, buddy,
- 47:47Speaker 3: good for.
- 47:47Speaker 2: You, right and like and again no again, as you
- 47:50Speaker 2: said earlier, no one wants he that he doesn't want
- 47:53Speaker 2: to be there. I don't want to be there. The
- 47:56Speaker 2: people working behind the counter, they don't want you to
- 47:58Speaker 2: be there, but that's why they're there, because life happens it,
- 48:02Speaker 2: you know, it's it's like on there. What was it?
- 48:06Speaker 2: Actually my wife kind of going off that. Like my
- 48:08Speaker 2: wife and I we uh. She she was on assignment
- 48:11Speaker 2: in Germany for about two years, and one of the
- 48:14Speaker 2: times I went over there, we did a weekend. Uh,
- 48:16Speaker 2: we did a weekend trip to London because obviously when
- 48:19Speaker 2: you're there, like you getting get to those places pretty
- 48:21Speaker 2: quick and job affordable and literally, like we got on
- 48:25Speaker 2: the plane and like right away we knew where a
- 48:28Speaker 2: flights go because it's one of those flights where it
- 48:29Speaker 2: got delayed. But then we're leaving really late, and it's like,
- 48:32Speaker 2: all right, guys, we're gonna board the plane where it's
- 48:34Speaker 2: like and by like German law, its like we have
- 48:35Speaker 2: to take off in five minutes. It takes like half
- 48:37Speaker 2: an hour just to open the door. Yeah, but of course,
- 48:42Speaker 2: but sorry we get through the plane, they're like, nope,
- 48:44Speaker 2: you gotta get off yet yet, And like right away
- 48:46Speaker 2: my wife and I are like, okay, great, we're gonna
- 48:48Speaker 2: lay out this airport and the hotels are let's do
- 48:50Speaker 2: this and go and like these poor flight attendants or
- 48:53Speaker 2: people work here for this airline. Again, obviously I don't
- 48:56Speaker 2: know Deutsch. Sorry, I tried to learn something I know
- 48:58Speaker 2: a little bit. And there's getting hounded and it's like
- 49:02Speaker 2: do you really think like it's like one of those
- 49:03Speaker 2: things like do you really think they want to be
- 49:05Speaker 2: here this late when they were supposed to probably be
- 49:08Speaker 2: home tonight too, And they're getting yelled at by someone
- 49:11Speaker 2: and for all I know, I don't they might not
- 49:13Speaker 2: understand German. I don't know, but it's just like what
- 49:16Speaker 2: like what like what what good does that do? I
- 49:17Speaker 2: g Yeah, you're frustrated, you're annoyed, you're tired, you're crabby.
- 49:22Speaker 2: I get it, but it's like why like just if
- 49:24Speaker 2: they need to be like one of those scenes where
- 49:26Speaker 2: like uh uh sorry, like like like how some airports
- 49:29Speaker 2: have like those like smoking only rooms. Need we need
- 49:33Speaker 2: like they have like those, but it's like a phone
- 49:34Speaker 2: with but it's like a sound proof chamber. You can
- 49:36Speaker 2: just go and there. Just let it go. Ah, just
- 49:38Speaker 2: get out of your system, like seriously, like I I
- 49:42Speaker 2: I'm not gonna like I don't like there are times
- 49:45Speaker 2: where maybe like I'm having a bad day or something
- 49:47Speaker 2: like that, and like I'm not gonna like there are
- 49:48Speaker 2: times where I'm driving or okay kind of like how
- 49:51Speaker 2: you said, like you write stuff down like you or
- 49:53Speaker 2: you talk to like like hey, like not today literally
- 49:55Speaker 2: like the little thing that like my wife first off
- 49:57Speaker 2: as a first off as a gag, but now now
- 50:00Speaker 2: we do it as like a good, like a good
- 50:01Speaker 2: like hey, let's just get it out. If we're driving
- 50:04Speaker 2: home and Wamace has a blad day a day lay
- 50:07Speaker 2: Jesus you heard of the Bluey theme song we'll play
- 50:13Speaker 2: that and scream it yeah, and then after you're it's
- 50:17Speaker 2: a thirty seconds after you're done, like, okay, I'm not
- 50:20Speaker 2: even sure I was mad about anymore. It's out.
- 50:21Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, And there's a lot of stuff that could
- 50:25Speaker 3: be mitigated before it even happens. Like some of my
- 50:29Speaker 3: tactics for and this is I didn't make this stuff up.
- 50:32Speaker 3: This is just social experiment or or somebody I've heard.
- 50:36Speaker 3: But I'll never ask how someone's doing. I'll either say
- 50:39Speaker 3: it looks like you're having a great day, it looks
- 50:40Speaker 3: like you're having a rough day, and that'll get them.
- 50:43Speaker 3: If it's a great day, then yeah, sty'll talk about it.
- 50:45Speaker 3: And if it's a bad day, they'll either be surprised
- 50:48Speaker 3: that they're coming across that way and brighten up, or
- 50:52Speaker 3: they'll tell you, yeah, I've just had some customers yelling
- 50:54Speaker 3: at me or whatever, and I'm like, well, well that's
- 50:55Speaker 3: not me today. Yeah, you got one of the good ones.
- 50:58Speaker 3: So it's a way to break the ice. And the
- 51:00Speaker 3: other thing I do is I'll especially if it's a
- 51:02Speaker 3: small request or a favor, I'll over I'll over complicate
- 51:06Speaker 3: the problem up front, like I when I fly I'll
- 51:12Speaker 3: go to the desk if I have enough time during
- 51:13Speaker 3: layover or whatever or before, and I'll try to ask
- 51:16Speaker 3: for an upgrade. But the way I'll do it is
- 51:19Speaker 3: I'll go up and go you look like you're having
- 51:22Speaker 3: a great day, and they're like, yeah, I'm having a
- 51:24Speaker 3: great day. What can I do for ILM? Like I
- 51:25Speaker 3: think I'm I think I'm about to ask a question
- 51:28Speaker 3: that's going to be the most make me in the
- 51:30Speaker 3: most difficult customers of all times. She's like, oh no,
- 51:34Speaker 3: And I'm like, is there any way if there's an
- 51:36Speaker 3: open seat that can upgrade? She's like, oh, that's it. Yeah,
- 51:40Speaker 3: you know, And and then sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
- 51:42Speaker 3: It doesn't. It doesn't matter that it works or not.
- 51:44Speaker 3: It's the approach because you'll see other people I've been
- 51:48Speaker 3: waiting for an hour, I want an upgrade. Well guess what,
- 51:51Speaker 3: you know you're not getting it. You know you gotta
- 51:55Speaker 3: take the right approach.
- 51:56Speaker 2: And I love that because like you said, like you said,
- 51:58Speaker 2: like that's like you're sitting up for You're sitting up
- 51:59Speaker 2: for like okay, here comes as like major like hey,
- 52:02Speaker 2: like I'm in trouble. I'm on this flight by need
- 52:05Speaker 2: my six and it's like no, just like you said them,
- 52:07Speaker 2: like where they thinking okay, great? Like I had to
- 52:08Speaker 2: go really deep until Pandora's box to help this guy
- 52:11Speaker 2: with his issue, and it's like no, Like hey, do
- 52:12Speaker 2: you have an upgradet? It's like oh yeah, cool, Like
- 52:15Speaker 2: you just essentially like you're putting the weight on their
- 52:17Speaker 2: shoulders but taking it off, but like in a comedic way,
- 52:19Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 52:20Speaker 3: Yeah, Like one time I did a show in New
- 52:22Speaker 3: Mexico and the client flew me out first class and
- 52:25Speaker 3: on the way back, and I had like a four
- 52:26Speaker 3: hour layover on the way back, and I noticed that
- 52:29Speaker 3: there was a flight earlier during my layover. So I
- 52:32Speaker 3: went up to the American Airlines and I did that
- 52:34Speaker 3: same thing. You look like you having a rough day.
- 52:36Speaker 3: She's like, Oh, these customers, you know, people are just
- 52:38Speaker 3: so belligerent. I'm like, I think I'm about to make
- 52:40Speaker 3: it worse, and I'm so sorry. Yeah, I said I'd
- 52:43Speaker 3: like to leave earlier. I'm on this flight. I'd like
- 52:46Speaker 3: to be on this flight. But she goes, I think
- 52:48Speaker 3: we can do that, that's easy, yeah, And I go,
- 52:50Speaker 3: you know what, I probably should remain in first class
- 52:53Speaker 3: I don't know that I'm used to it anything, you know,
- 52:55Speaker 3: of course I'm never used the first thing right jokingly said,
- 52:58Speaker 3: you know, I should probably stay in for it, don't
- 52:59Speaker 3: I look like a first class passenger. She goes, well,
- 53:03Speaker 3: let me see, you know we yeah, we can do it,
- 53:08Speaker 3: but for like fifty eight dollars. And I'm like, I
- 53:10Speaker 3: don't know, I does a first class passenger really pay
- 53:14Speaker 3: fifty eight though? She goes, you know what, let's just
- 53:16Speaker 3: get jumped there. Click click click. It's like, just relate
- 53:19Speaker 3: to people because I didn't care what the outcome was, right,
- 53:23Speaker 3: But if you and you can do that in a
- 53:25Speaker 3: situation where you do care what the output is and
- 53:27Speaker 3: the outcome is and and you know, just try it,
- 53:30Speaker 3: try you know, joking and happiness and be cordial and
- 53:35Speaker 3: see what happens.
- 53:36Speaker 2: See, And that's and that's something like I've myself been
- 53:38Speaker 2: telling myself I need to be better of. I'm not
- 53:41Speaker 2: sure how many, if you how many episodes you might
- 53:43Speaker 2: listen to, but like it's pretty well known I am
- 53:44Speaker 2: a Star Wars fanatic and something that like even like
- 53:51Speaker 2: thank God, like again, oh, like think God for my
- 53:53Speaker 2: wife for this, like she'll catch me on it is.
- 53:56Speaker 2: I've always I've called people on this shooes like they'll say, oh,
- 53:59Speaker 2: I'm trying to. I'm like, I don't try do or
- 54:00Speaker 2: do not like so get that try word out of
- 54:03Speaker 2: your vocabulary. Get it out, get it out. And sometimes
- 54:07Speaker 2: I'll say and she'll call me. I'm like, I'm like
- 54:08Speaker 2: that's gonna look like I need to be like, hey,
- 54:10Speaker 2: no more of this, like I'm gonna try this. It's like, no,
- 54:12Speaker 2: just do it. And here's the thing too, I've also
- 54:14Speaker 2: accepted this. Now if I don't do it, it's not
- 54:17Speaker 2: think I'm not doing it at all. It's like, Okay,
- 54:18Speaker 2: I'm gonna do this later. Like I'm just I'm not
- 54:21Speaker 2: putting it like it's okay, I can't do Like no,
- 54:22Speaker 2: it's like I'm not good. I just can't. It's not
- 54:24Speaker 2: gonnappen right now. It's on the card. It's like you know,
- 54:26Speaker 2: like you said, like the have to want to need
- 54:29Speaker 2: to Like that's I'm not gonna. I have never even
- 54:31Speaker 2: thought of that. You know. There's just two guys that
- 54:33Speaker 2: just met we're talking about this, Like now that's something
- 54:35Speaker 2: that's thet stick in my brain, like okay, like I
- 54:37Speaker 2: need I have stuff I have to do that. Do
- 54:38Speaker 2: I need to do that? Do I want to do that? Like,
- 54:41Speaker 2: for example, I am a huge guy. I used to
- 54:45Speaker 2: hate working out, hate it. Now I love it. Daysmen
- 54:49Speaker 2: don't work out, I'm kind of like a little upset
- 54:52Speaker 2: with myself. But it's like, okay, do I really well,
- 54:54Speaker 2: It's like, okay, do I have to go to the gym?
- 54:56Speaker 2: Or do I want to go to the gym?
- 54:57Speaker 1: No?
- 54:57Speaker 2: What's I want to go to the gym? But maybe
- 54:59Speaker 2: there's other things I can't speak of. Just so many
- 55:00Speaker 2: things that are in my way where I can't go, Okay, great,
- 55:03Speaker 2: How do I try to find a way to like
- 55:05Speaker 2: amplement the things I need to do so I can
- 55:07Speaker 2: get a workout and stuff like that?
- 55:09Speaker 3: Yeah, there was a related There was a comic I
- 55:12Speaker 3: was working with in the green room and it was
- 55:14Speaker 3: just one of those days where I just wasn't feeling
- 55:16Speaker 3: it and he goes, could you believe it? And I
- 55:19Speaker 3: go what? And he goes, we get to tell jokes tonight? Yeah,
- 55:23Speaker 3: like not, we have to. We're getting paid to. We
- 55:26Speaker 3: need to. We get to so I get to work
- 55:29Speaker 3: out today. I get to go and I've lost forty
- 55:34Speaker 3: five pounds in twelve months and congrats, thanks, and it's
- 55:41Speaker 3: I would be upset, like I'm doing three days in
- 55:45Speaker 3: the gym because the week and then just walking the
- 55:47Speaker 3: other days. But missing a gym day would be devastating
- 55:51Speaker 3: to me. And then I was talking to this trainer
- 55:54Speaker 3: friend of mine and he's like, it's a day. He goes,
- 55:57Speaker 3: just don't miss two days, and yeah, he's like, you
- 56:00Speaker 3: got Wednesday. If you do a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, you
- 56:02Speaker 3: miss Monday. Okay, Wednesday, Monday's gone, it's over. I just
- 56:06Speaker 3: don't miss Wednesday. And it totally changed my perspective, Like
- 56:10Speaker 3: I wouldn't. I would harp on it and get upset
- 56:12Speaker 3: with myself and beat myself up with it. Yeah. By
- 56:16Speaker 3: the way, side note, one of my very first bits
- 56:18Speaker 3: ever as a stand up in the late nineties was
- 56:21Speaker 3: impression of Chewbacco. And what I found most humorous about
- 56:26Speaker 3: Chewbacca is he would do his initial growl or whatever
- 56:29Speaker 3: you call it, and then pause and then there would
- 56:31Speaker 3: be some moans and growls after really short let me
- 56:33Speaker 3: see if I could still do it. Hold on.
- 56:35Speaker 2: I was like, you can't say you can do of
- 56:37Speaker 2: Chewbacca one and then not take a drink. Hold, yeah,
- 56:41Speaker 2: I actually ask you what you were drinking.
- 56:44Speaker 3: So no, it's just.
- 56:48Speaker 4: It.
- 56:49Speaker 3: I would go, it's.
- 56:56Speaker 2: Actually pretty good. It's pretty good.
- 56:59Speaker 3: This law long thing. And then a pause and he's like, yeah, I.
- 57:06Speaker 2: Can tell you studied the I could sell he studied Wookie.
- 57:09Speaker 3: It's right.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Oh god, See, this is why I love something like this.
- 57:14Speaker 2: It's like we go from like you know, introducing ourselves
- 57:17Speaker 2: to each other. Were talking about your comedy stuff. Then
- 57:19Speaker 2: we go into like just like general like comedy, Hitchory,
- 57:22Speaker 2: Chicago comedy. Then we go to mental health, and then
- 57:24Speaker 2: we're here, we are ending off with Wookie.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Yeah that's right, right, oh yeah, And I just I
- 57:31Speaker 3: got the Star Wars franchise got to be too much
- 57:33Speaker 3: to follow for me. It was like I get the
- 57:36Speaker 3: you know obviously when I was a kid, the first three,
- 57:38Speaker 3: and then the next three came out, and then another couple,
- 57:41Speaker 3: and then there's TV shows then uh you know Bill
- 57:45Speaker 3: burs In.
- 57:46Speaker 2: What is that the Mandalorian?
- 57:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm like I can't keep I can't keep up.
- 57:51Speaker 3: I'll catch whatever I can catch, but I'm not keeping
- 57:53Speaker 3: track anymore.
- 57:55Speaker 2: See, And that's the thing, and that's why and I
- 57:58Speaker 2: talked about here, Like the movie The Mandalorian moves me
- 58:01Speaker 2: so interesting when it comes out next month, because it's
- 58:03Speaker 2: like I okay and as click a clack his names
- 58:08Speaker 2: are now he's been the podcast we've it's like a
- 58:10Speaker 2: common It's like it's like a reoccurring uh joke that
- 58:13Speaker 2: we always have. I'm gonna I'll keep a PG for
- 58:15Speaker 2: you here, But like they Star Wars can literally give
- 58:18Speaker 2: us a crap sandwich as an as a little sandwich
- 58:23Speaker 2: with crap on it, and him and I will find
- 58:25Speaker 2: a way to justify that it's good. That's how that's
- 58:27Speaker 2: how much of a hook they have on us. But
- 58:30Speaker 2: we're also not afraid to critique it when it needs
- 58:33Speaker 2: to be critiqued. But because I think we're so in,
- 58:36Speaker 2: we're so just like engulfed in the lore and the
- 58:40Speaker 2: fandom of it. It's like it's like they got me
- 58:42Speaker 2: for likee like literally like my wife tells like people
- 58:45Speaker 2: like she was going to Disney and like the second
- 58:47Speaker 2: that like Disney got Star Wars, it's like, all right, well,
- 58:51Speaker 2: I guess I'm man right, so and like I like it,
- 58:55Speaker 2: but I can admit, like, is there is there too much?
- 58:57Speaker 2: I don't think there's enough, but I understand where Okay,
- 59:01Speaker 2: not everyone has the time and not even the time
- 59:05Speaker 2: to watch everything in Star Wars, everything Marvel, because, like God,
- 59:09Speaker 2: as much as they're Star Wars, there's way I think
- 59:10Speaker 2: there's way too much Marvel, which I think they're scaly
- 59:13Speaker 2: back on. Fine, thank god, there's a whole that's a
- 59:15Speaker 2: whole other podcast in terms of why they're doing that.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Don't get me started on that.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Sometimes my friends that are Star Wars fans as well.
- 59:22Speaker 3: It's very rare, but we'll walk into a comedy club
- 59:25Speaker 3: or a green room or any place that's with there's
- 59:28Speaker 3: a lot of people, whether it's a bar or whatever,
- 59:31Speaker 3: and one of us will lean over and go you
- 59:33Speaker 3: will never find them all wretched high. That's common villainy.
- 59:40Speaker 2: I absolutely love that. Yeah, oh my god, there's I
- 59:48Speaker 2: can't like the about I've also because I am my
- 59:52Speaker 2: father's son, and also my mother married my stepfather, so
- 59:56Speaker 2: the language buried and fall far from there either. I
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: I try really hard to watch my language.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: And wait with the famous scene where Luke, I am
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: your father? Does he not? He does not say that?
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Right, he goes, no, I am your father. It's not Luke,
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: I'm your father. No, it's no, I am your father.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: It's a big misconception.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I was corrected because one of my like I'm
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: keep going back to my old jokes. One of my
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: old jokes was when my son was my son's nineteen.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: When my son was born, the number one name my wife,
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: my ex wife, wanted to name him was Luke. And
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: I said, I can't name my son Luke because I
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: cannot resist every time I see him. You know, Luke,
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I am your fuck.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: YEP. I work with a guy named Luke and same
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: thing that he got. He's a Star Wars guy, and
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: he goes, that's not the line. But like, go back
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: to the language that I saying earlier, like I try
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: to replace I literally have replaced like cuss words I
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: would say in my life with the phrase in Star
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: Wars called dank Ferrick. It's just their way of saying,
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: like you know, like a s bomber, damn it, Like
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: it's just like yeah, it means five thousand different things,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: but it's like it's like your soil saints, like yeah,
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: but I'm not staying like I'm trying. I'm trying to
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: be better, Like hey, roma was on the day I
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: got I'm not gonna get better in the day. Let
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: me do my thing and get there.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: But you know, there's a lot of phrases that people
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: like the money is the root of all evil is
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: not correct. In the Bible, it's the love of money.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: See, I didn't know. I didn't know. See I've always
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: I've always heard the money's route of all you I
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: didn't know what the love of money. I didn't know
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: that money which and if anything, that makes a lot
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: more sense, that makes a lot more sense. Geez.
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of context in the Bible, like
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: the story, like some people point out, you know, billionaire
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: shouldn't be billionaires and millionaire shouldn't be millionaires. And in
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: the Bible it says, you know, somebody with riches there's
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: something a needle in a haystack, or won't go to
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: heaven with because he's so rich or whatever, and it
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: was the context was this one person asked to follow this,
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: one rich guy asked to follow Jesus, and he said, great,
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: give up everything and follow me, and he said no.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: So it was in reference to him not being willing
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: to sacrifice, not rich people, you know, in total and
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: it's it's a very weird.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: I don't know, we we live in a weird world.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: But it's like I something something we can wrap up
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: with this, but something I kind of kind of like.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: You know, like kind of like I think I we're
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: not wrapping up on me misquoting the Bible. How about that,
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: let's move on.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: A wrap No, so you kind of like to like
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: how like you know, like you'll if you see it,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: like you don't go how are you? You go?
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: You?
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: And I love that. I'm not I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna steal that. Now you go, hey you like
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: you're having a good day or hey, look at you're
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: a bad like a rough day.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, don't say bad, say rough rough yeah yeah bad.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Like because they're gonna be like what they go like
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: crap or something, no, something, And it's it's it's I
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: think it's just small little details. I think because I
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: know it is like especially in movies, like I know
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: it those little tiny details. But like something I always
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: will do. Yeah, even like if my wife is like
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: of me and there's like eight people behind me, I
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: will always hold the door open for the entire party,
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: the group, even though I always do that, and it's
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: not it's it's not just that Midwest nice thing. It's
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: not it's just me being It's just how because again
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: you don't like I've I've always thought like you can
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: make someone's day because I remember when I was a kid,
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: my god blest her soul, my tiny little grandmother who
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: as I got older, it wasn't I got taller, she
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: was just shrinking. She would hold a door open for me,
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: and I'm like, Grandma, like what are you doing? Yeah,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Like like Grandma, no, that's my Like.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: You ever watched my comedy special on YouTube, the latest
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: one that the last joke in the special is about
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: a woman holding the door for me and what happened.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: I think you'll really enjoy it.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I look forward because I did watch your I went
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: on your website and obviously you can check you know,
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: obviously you guys can find Danny Johnson at Danny Johnson
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: dot com. I did, like watch your real and like
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: I was just like yeah, like I like all the
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: like again, like that's the thing I love about comedy
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: is like when you can relate to the jokes and
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: like all the jokes. I'm like, yep, a one hundred said,
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: I absolutely love that. But uh, with that being said,
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: I do want to be respectful your time. I appreciate
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: you coming on. This was again this is why I
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: love it like podcasts and stuff like this in these forums.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: It's like we had fun laughter, serious conversations. We end
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: with some wookie isms and then we're not going with
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: you thisscoined the Bible and we'll end with this. So
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: but again, I want to thank you, but I do
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: want to give you the floor. You did allude to obviously,
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: and we talked a little bitbout your special on YouTube.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: But where can all the listeners or anyone who just
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: happens to just uh, you know, download this podcast for example,
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: like recently, like we I don't know how, we just
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: had a giant search for this podcast in Vietnam. Don't
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: know how, don't know why. I'm not gonna question it.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: It just happened. But people find you for all of
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: your content.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: I mean all my social media Facebook, Instagram, TikTok is
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: at Danny Johnson Comedy and then my YouTube is YouTube
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: dot com comedian Danny and my latest specials on my
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: YouTube page. It's been up for about six months and
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: It's got two hundred and four thousand views, which is
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: far more than I expected as a non celebrity gratulation
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: household name. Thank you. I'm really proud of it. I
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: talk about my awkward social awkwardness. I talk about my
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: therapist and just overall need being an idiot in life
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: and trying to figure it out at my age. But
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: I think you'll enjoy it, share it, comment, do all
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: the algorithm stuff. But I put out some good content
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: I think probably four to five times a week, So
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: I'm not just asking you to follow my socials for
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: no reason. I think it's some of the stuff I
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: put out there is worth watching and funny. And I
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: enjoyed this conversation. Man, I'd love to do it again
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: down the road. And if I've ever in Chicago, you're
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: going to get an email from me.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Oh you could. Yeah. Like I just said, like my
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: wife and I work something that we as you have
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: the heart arm go off. Something that like her and
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: I do is we go out once a week and
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: we're trying to do something different every week and it's
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: just been so enjoyful so far. Like one of the
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: things we don't we really want to do it was
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: go to a comedy show. So yeah, if you ever
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: in Chicago, let me know and I'll take you too.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: And yes, there's obviously the traditional like oh you gotta
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: try this Chicago, but no, no, no, no, we're not gonna do
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: the deep dish. We're gonna do the traditional tavern style.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Trust me like it a lot more, but no, I yeah,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: really appreciate you coming on. As you mentioned, you could

- 1:06:33Speaker 2: for the first time this evening, we can get into
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: it really quick and even get into some really personal stuff.

- 1:07:07Speaker 2: Bros got a hug, take care and thank you
