- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey everybody, it's the almost Famous podcast. I'm here today
- 0:10Speaker 2: with Ashley, of course, and we're gonna start out this
- 0:16Speaker 2: last weekend, I had the pleasure really of spending the
- 0:22Speaker 2: whole weekend in Rhode Island, which is where Ashley lives. Obviously,
- 0:29Speaker 2: some tragic events happened in Rhode Island with the shooting
- 0:33Speaker 2: at Brown University while I was visiting there. Ashley was
- 0:37Speaker 2: away for the weekend, but obviously it's her home, and
- 0:39Speaker 2: I wanted to give Ashley a moment to kind of
- 0:41Speaker 2: speak to that or on that, if you'd like.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I mean, it's just.
- 0:45Speaker 4: The worst thing ever, and it feels so awful when
- 0:48Speaker 4: it's particularly close to home.
- 0:51Speaker 3: It's unfound aathomable. I just can't believe this is happen.
- 0:55Speaker 3: You know how often this is happening, And it's very
- 0:59Speaker 3: particularly scary right now. Yeah, because this guy hasn't been caught.
- 1:01Speaker 4: They had this one person in custody and they actually
- 1:06Speaker 4: got the wrong guy and we found out overnight that
- 1:11Speaker 4: we still don't know who it is. And it's kind
- 1:14Speaker 4: of freaky to, like, you know, send my kid to school.
- 1:20Speaker 3: But obviously.
- 1:21Speaker 4: I mean, like, I just thinking praying for those people
- 1:24Speaker 4: who have been affected, those two poor kids, sophomore and
- 1:27Speaker 4: a freshman. I'm just I'm so so sorry for their families,
- 1:30Speaker 4: and I can't. I have no words for it. Just
- 1:35Speaker 4: my heart is with them and the whole Brown community
- 1:37Speaker 4: and Rhode Island, and uh, there's really no there's really
- 1:42Speaker 4: no words.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Ben. How was it to feel we were here, like
- 1:46Speaker 3: half an hour away from.
- 1:47Speaker 2: It, Yeah, I mean it was. It was obviously. I
- 1:53Speaker 2: think the whole house, we had a whole house for people.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It's most from the northeast, shocking, and you know, it
- 2:03Speaker 2: doesn't it hasn't been. I haven't been callous to it
- 2:09Speaker 2: enough to where this stuff like this happens and you
- 2:11Speaker 2: don't take a step back, and it's like very it's
- 2:15Speaker 2: very somber. It is very scary. I understand why you're
- 2:19Speaker 2: feeling that. Yeah, it affects so much time, and I
- 2:24Speaker 2: understand why even you know, days later, you're sending your
- 2:28Speaker 2: kid to school and it's in the back of your head.
- 2:30Speaker 4: And I feel like I think about it all the
- 2:32Speaker 4: time when I send also to school.
- 2:34Speaker 3: It doesn't happen to have to happen near.
- 2:36Speaker 2: To you, that's too bad, that's not you know, it's
- 2:40Speaker 2: not how things should be recently. Yeah, but for all
- 2:45Speaker 2: of you people living in Rhode Island or have connections
- 2:48Speaker 2: to Brown University or have been affected by this, we
- 2:53Speaker 2: just want to say you are in our thoughts. And
- 2:57Speaker 2: I know that sounds like a platitude, but really it's
- 3:00Speaker 2: the only thing I know how to do from a
- 3:05Speaker 2: distance is to have you in the thoughts and to
- 3:07Speaker 2: also just tried and you know, wrap our arms around
- 3:11Speaker 2: those parents who are also now nervous and have been
- 3:15Speaker 2: nervous to send their kids out into the public. H
- 3:20Speaker 2: We do have headlines for you today. We want to
- 3:22Speaker 2: break down the news going on in bachel Nation. We
- 3:24Speaker 2: obviously wanted to started with the news from Rhode Island
- 3:28Speaker 2: because it does hit so close to home on this show.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And we'll start with one that is was expected, I believe,
- 3:40Speaker 2: based on what happened a few months ago. Becca Tilly
- 3:43Speaker 2: proposes to her fiance Haley in Japan, five months after
- 3:50Speaker 2: her fiance first popped the question.
- 3:55Speaker 4: So Becca always imagined that she would propose back to Haley.
- 3:59Speaker 4: It's some point when I saw her in October, I
- 4:02Speaker 4: don't think she knew exactly wonder how she was going
- 4:05Speaker 4: to do it, but she found the perfect time and place.
- 4:07Speaker 4: They went to Japan. They often go to Japan. I
- 4:10Speaker 4: believe that Haley is part Japanese. And she did it
- 4:14Speaker 4: on Friday, December twelfth, and the pictures are so stunning.
- 4:18Speaker 4: She had a photography a photographer planted and this is gorgeous,
- 4:23Speaker 4: so so pretty. Now they both have their dino and
- 4:26Speaker 4: rings and the caption said to forever and everywhere with you.
- 4:32Speaker 4: She said, yes, so cute. We're so happy for both
- 4:36Speaker 4: of them. I like the proposal back in a situation
- 4:38Speaker 4: like this, specifically in a girl and girl relationship, I
- 4:41Speaker 4: do like I do like it like this. In the
- 4:44Speaker 4: case of it being a guy proposing to a girl,
- 4:48Speaker 4: I would say that I kind of like it more traditional,
- 4:51Speaker 4: but it's it's real.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I mean, I honestly believe for Jessica and I like
- 4:57Speaker 2: I was the one that was going to be proposing.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Now dragged it out so long because of COVID that
- 5:02Speaker 2: at some point she might have just done it and
- 5:05Speaker 2: just said, well, were you going to do this thing
- 5:06Speaker 2: or not? And let me at least put in your hands.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I think we just knew that Becca was planning this.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I do think it was already reported or we had
- 5:16Speaker 2: talked to Beck and she had said that that was
- 5:18Speaker 2: part of her plan. So it doesn't come as like
- 5:23Speaker 2: the shock or you know, maybe the first time does,
- 5:26Speaker 2: but it doesn't take away the specialness right there, commitment
- 5:30Speaker 2: to each other. Speaking of commitments, Ashley, Jason Tarctick goes
- 5:35Speaker 2: Instagram official with new girlfriend.
- 5:39Speaker 4: So his new girlfriend has been rumored for a couple
- 5:41Speaker 4: of weeks now. Her name is Katain Hurley, and he
- 5:45Speaker 4: posted her for the first time in honor of her
- 5:47Speaker 4: thirty fourth birthday. They met through the charity organization that
- 5:52Speaker 4: she runs for dogs as a nonprofit rescue center. It's
- 5:55Speaker 4: called Wags and Walks in Nashville, and his caption said
- 5:59Speaker 4: from dogs, from the dogs you save every day to
- 6:02Speaker 4: the people whose lives you change, You make everything around
- 6:06Speaker 4: you more beautiful. Howdy, birthday Catherine, and then he said
- 6:09Speaker 4: somewhere either in this or in the stories, that he.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Said my love. So it's obviously serious.
- 6:18Speaker 4: And this news came three days after they had sparked
- 6:23Speaker 4: romance rumors, and they're photographed together at the opening of
- 6:27Speaker 4: Craigs in Nashville. She is amicably split from her ex husband.
- 6:36Speaker 4: That happened in April after they were married for five years,
- 6:39Speaker 4: and they have since finalized their divorce. Oh, he got
- 6:43Speaker 4: his golden redto remix from wags and locks.
- 6:47Speaker 3: So now we understand how two of them may have met.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Do we know how long the two of them have
- 6:53Speaker 2: been dating? No, there's no inf on that.
- 6:57Speaker 4: No. I mean, I guess I'm putting the timeline around
- 7:00Speaker 4: when he got the dog, which was he started talking
- 7:04Speaker 4: about it in July. But I think he's had him
- 7:06Speaker 4: for more than that.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Man of time.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Ali Fitotowski shares unexpected illness that sent her to the
- 7:25Speaker 2: emergency room.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Kevin was helping her cut her hair, and then apparently
- 7:30Speaker 4: the haircut made me violently ill, she jokes on Instagram.
- 7:34Speaker 4: So it's a picture of her in a hospital bed.
- 7:37Speaker 4: She goes, I went from totally fine to having severe
- 7:40Speaker 4: lower abdominal cramping every twenty minutes.
- 7:43Speaker 3: That's interesting. She was secretly pregnant.
- 7:45Speaker 4: She was. What's that show called I didn't know I
- 7:48Speaker 4: was pregnant. I didn't know I was pregnant. You never
- 7:51Speaker 4: heard of it, Ben, It's a very interdeting show. Oh
- 7:54Speaker 4: my gosh, it's a whole bunch of women. It's like
- 7:56Speaker 4: two or three stories every episode of women who don't
- 7:59Speaker 4: know they're pregnant, and it's the story like a reenactment
- 8:03Speaker 4: of them going into labor and then like a baby
- 8:05Speaker 4: popping out.
- 8:05Speaker 2: On the toilet.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Whoa.
- 8:07Speaker 3: It's fascinating. Every single time.
- 8:09Speaker 4: I did another podcast about this, and I had four
- 8:13Speaker 4: women on telling me about their stories about not knowing
- 8:15Speaker 4: they're pregnant and delivering a baby. I just don't I
- 8:18Speaker 4: just cannot fat I just don't understand. There's something wiggling
- 8:22Speaker 4: and moving around in you, even if you are like sick,
- 8:27Speaker 4: and if you're not having all those classic symptoms, the
- 8:32Speaker 4: fact that you're not feeling kicks inside you is tremendously weird,
- 8:36Speaker 4: especially for those and there were a number of them
- 8:39Speaker 4: who had had children before.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Anyway, Ali back to Alie.
- 8:44Speaker 4: She goes after the cramping every twenty minutes, and a
- 8:48Speaker 4: few hours of that, a friend who's a doctor told
- 8:51Speaker 4: me that I should be going to get checked out,
- 8:55Speaker 4: and she said that it was really getting quite painful.
- 8:58Speaker 4: She said, I'm sure, are they is fine? But man,
- 9:01Speaker 4: the only thing I compare this to is childbirth contractions,
- 9:06Speaker 4: and these It started to like bring me to my
- 9:08Speaker 4: knees in tears, and then she finally said she's okay.
- 9:14Speaker 3: They gave her some morphine.
- 9:15Speaker 4: They took the pain away, which was very needed, had
- 9:17Speaker 4: a cat scan, and she has colitis, which is inflammation
- 9:22Speaker 4: of the intestines. They're gonna put me on an antibiotic
- 9:26Speaker 4: and pain meds and let me go home, be on
- 9:29Speaker 4: a liquid dot, gotta see a gastrodologist, and she's gonna
- 9:33Speaker 4: probably have to get a cold. Honesty, but like, wow,
- 9:37Speaker 4: she said that colitis and Crohne's disease runs in the family.
- 9:41Speaker 4: It's so interesting that it would just kind of pop
- 9:44Speaker 4: on and it wouldn't be like weeks and weeks of
- 9:47Speaker 4: leading up leading up to this moment.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I mean, it's shocking. I like that she started out
- 9:52Speaker 2: with the haircut. I know I hesitate to even talk
- 9:57Speaker 2: about this, just know that the recent rumors of Jess
- 10:02Speaker 2: Edwards and Spencer Conley who met in Paradise. She's upset
- 10:09Speaker 2: because of some of the comments being made about the
- 10:11Speaker 2: fake news article. I don't want to talk about it
- 10:13Speaker 2: because those fake news articles are dumb and I'm tired
- 10:15Speaker 2: of talking about them and just bring them more attention.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Than we do. But just know that whatever you're seeing
- 10:22Speaker 2: online is probably not true and you should go ask
- 10:24Speaker 2: them directly for all of their new recent updates. Jade
- 10:30Speaker 2: Roper reveals whether she and Tanner Tolbert are trying for
- 10:34Speaker 2: another baby.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Do you see my brow furrowed right now?
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:39Speaker 4: Like, but goodness, I don't believe this is accurate. She
- 10:46Speaker 4: did ask She was asked on social media the other
- 10:48Speaker 4: day during a Q and A whether or not they
- 10:51Speaker 4: would have another story, and she said, forever trying to
- 10:57Speaker 4: convince Tanner for more, for one more sweet addition to
- 11:01Speaker 4: these adorable faces, but I'm not sure it's in the cards,
- 11:04Speaker 4: and that is what I am aware of. And then
- 11:09Speaker 4: she also went on to say the family's plans for
- 11:12Speaker 4: raising animals on their land once they move into their
- 11:15Speaker 4: new home, which they're renovating right now.
- 11:17Speaker 3: And then she said chickens first, and then I.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Have a whole wish list goats, She maybe a mini donkey,
- 11:23Speaker 4: i'll paca, ducks, pony, and a horse. And then she
- 11:29Speaker 4: also said that she would love to adopt a bee
- 11:31Speaker 4: hive for honey bees and build some bug hotels for
- 11:36Speaker 4: native bees too. This is Jade doiving her mother nature thing,
- 11:40Speaker 4: because she's mother Nature. I don't understand how they could
- 11:44Speaker 4: ever come up with. Oh okay, the headline is actually
- 11:47Speaker 4: reveals weather she and Tanner are trying for a new baby,
- 11:51Speaker 4: not that they are trying for another baby, because they
- 11:54Speaker 4: they are not.
- 11:55Speaker 2: A little shocked.
- 11:57Speaker 4: She really really really wants another baby, and I really
- 12:01Speaker 4: I want that for her. Yeah, but I know that
- 12:05Speaker 4: I don't think that Tanner is budging on it either.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I mean, it would be how many I mean they
- 12:10Speaker 2: have how many right now?
- 12:10Speaker 1: You three?
- 12:12Speaker 3: You know she miscarried, she miscarried the fourth.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Yeah, so I know that that makes her feel even
- 12:17Speaker 4: more so like there's another baby out there for her.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Yeah. It just I always think they have twelve kids
- 12:24Speaker 2: because they start having kids so soon.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Yeah, but not really. They were married for a year.
- 12:30Speaker 4: They got married. Yeah, they got it just about a
- 12:34Speaker 4: year after marriage.
- 12:35Speaker 2: They do what they want to do. Three kids, it's
- 12:37Speaker 2: not crazy. Four kids.
- 12:38Speaker 4: More kids is getting there? Yeah, they do a goss
- 12:41Speaker 4: for it. Caitlin from Joey Season. She offecially has a
- 12:46Speaker 4: master's in medical just symmetry. She said, I get to
- 12:49Speaker 4: design radiation treatment plants for cancer patients. Oh my gosh,
- 12:53Speaker 4: that is so amazing. So I get an image and
- 12:56Speaker 4: I map out the radiation, how it gets delivered, and
- 12:59Speaker 4: how to spare normal tissues and important organs. Oh my gosh,
- 13:03Speaker 4: that is so incredible. And Leah from Joey's season said,
- 13:09Speaker 4: all my besties beautiful and educated, So proud of you.
- 13:13Speaker 3: This is so cool.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Congratulations to Caitlin, who also revealed that she's accepted a
- 13:18Speaker 4: job offer in Austin, Texas. I was like, what is
- 13:21Speaker 4: a Masters of medicine because usually, you know, you graduate
- 13:24Speaker 4: from medical school with your you know, it's you don't
- 13:27Speaker 4: call it your masters of medicine, but whatever, this is
- 13:30Speaker 4: sounds incredible, So congratulations to Kaitlin.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I mean, a massive deal.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Have you heard of this before? Does symmetry?
- 13:39Speaker 4: No.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I was going to say it's such a big deal
- 13:40Speaker 2: that she's doing something I've never heard of. She isn't
- 13:43Speaker 2: like that crazy. There's a lot of things I haven't
- 13:45Speaker 2: heard of, but when you go to school for something
- 13:47Speaker 2: I've never heard of, it's impressive.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 4: So it's a specialized field and radiation oncology.
- 13:56Speaker 2: These headlines this week feel very like positive.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Yeah, they're very which is great because we really needed
- 14:01Speaker 4: after this horrible, awful weekend in the world.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Yeah goodness.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 4: So it says that they help calculating radiation doses and
- 14:12Speaker 4: designing how beams are shaped, angled, and weighted to effectively
- 14:17Speaker 4: target tumors will sparing healthy tissue.
- 14:20Speaker 3: That is so that is a very important job. So
- 14:23Speaker 3: thank you, Catherine.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I like how you said that. You said it so well.
- 14:28Speaker 2: But like it's impossible to give somebody a compliment when
- 14:30Speaker 2: they do something like this because you're like, I don't
- 14:32Speaker 2: even know what to like say.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Like you're so smart. Oh yeah, like you're doing for
- 14:37Speaker 4: going into this all of humanity, You're doing great.
- 14:42Speaker 2: It's the best way. Anyways, that's the headlines we have
- 14:44Speaker 2: for you this week. We'll be back with more headlights
