- 1:49All right, guys, so let's dive in because,
- 1:52again, we have another amazing, amazing, amazing show
- 1:57for you guys.
- 1:57All right, are you ready?
- 1:59I know that I am, so let's kick
- 2:01this off.
- 2:02Hey, guys, this is Inspirations for Your Life.
- 2:06Great to be with you here.
- 2:08The master topic for the week is how
- 2:10to rise into what's next in your life,
- 2:13and when something old loses power, something new
- 2:19can finally begin.
- 2:20This week, as we know, it's all about
- 2:22renewal, courage, clarity, movement, living hope, and becoming
- 2:26proof that change is really possible.
- 2:29Today's Thursday.
- 2:31It's April 9th, 2026.
- 2:34This is Show 5, Series 5, excuse me,
- 2:37Show 15, Episode 6.
- 2:40Hope is not enough.
- 2:42Move now.
- 2:44And so let's kick this off.
- 2:46I'm John C.
- 2:46Morley, ladies and gentlemen, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing
- 2:49specialist, video producer, podcast host, coach, keynote speaker,
- 2:54graduate student, and a passionate lifelong learner, and
- 2:57soon to be a published author.
- 2:59Yes, a week from tomorrow, depending on when
- 3:02you are watching or listening to this.
- 3:05Hope sounds good.
- 3:06Hope feels good.
- 3:08But hope alone will not change your life.
- 3:12Sorry to say that, guys.
- 3:13That is the truth.
- 3:16Movement will.
- 3:18If your hope does not create action, it's
- 3:22just a story you keep telling yourself over
- 3:24and over again, and that's what we need
- 3:26to live by.
- 3:27Number one, guys, hope is a verb.
- 3:30Real hope moves.
- 3:32It does not sit still.
- 3:33That's true.
- 3:35Number two, real hope creates action.
- 3:39Belief without movement changes nothing.
- 3:43We have to take that action.
- 3:45I think that's a very important thing, that
- 3:47we have to take that action.
- 3:49We have to take that inspired action.
- 3:50If we don't, then we're going to be
- 3:53very disappointed with ourselves.
- 3:55Number three, do not confuse wishing with faith.
- 4:00Wishing waits.
- 4:01Faith works.
- 4:03I think that's important.
- 4:05Number four, moving hope changes outcomes.
- 4:11Action turns belief into results.
- 4:14A lot of people believe, and then they
- 4:17don't take the step or the action.
- 4:19And then they get frustrated, and they're like,
- 4:20oh, this doesn't work.
- 4:22Of course it doesn't work, because you never
- 4:24took the action.
- 4:25You got all ready, the emotions were there,
- 4:28but then you just didn't carry it out.
- 4:30You didn't finalize it.
- 4:33Number five, hope should have footsteps.
- 4:37Progress is the proof of belief.
- 4:40But progress does not always show up day
- 4:43two, day three, day four.
- 4:45Sometimes it doesn't show up for a month.
- 4:47Could be two months.
- 4:48Could be a quarter.
- 4:49Could be a year or more.
- 4:51But the key is to be aware of
- 4:54what's going on around you, because there will
- 4:56be subtle signs that things are going to
- 4:58change.
- 4:59Number six, build while believing.
- 5:02Don't wait to see it.
- 5:03Start creating it.
- 5:04It's the concept of blind faith.
- 5:07Just because we can't see it doesn't mean
- 5:10it's not happening.
- 5:12Number seven, guys, hope is not passive.
- 5:15It demands participation.
- 5:18If you don't participate, guess what happens?
- 5:21Well, you become extremely frustrated.
- 5:24Yes, very, very frustrated.
- 5:26Nobody wants to be frustrated, I don't think.
- 5:29Number eight, guys, expect better and work smarter.
- 5:34Yeah, so expect better and work smarter.
- 5:38Belief and effort must be in alignment.
- 5:42If they're not, well, then you're going to
- 5:44be doing this tug of war.
- 5:46And eventually, one side's going to break.
- 5:49Number nine, courage gives hope traction.
- 5:53Action gives belief direction.
- 5:57If we don't have traction, we can't climb,
- 6:00right?
- 6:02If we don't have belief, we're kind of
- 6:07like.
- 6:11Number 10, active hope defeats despair.
- 6:16Movement destroys stagnation.
- 6:19So if you are not going anywhere, it's
- 6:22time to move, all right?
- 6:24When we move, we actually change our attitude.
- 6:28That's pretty cool.
- 6:30So if you're feeling like you're going nowhere,
- 6:33get moving.
- 6:34And when you move, your life starts to
- 6:38change from the chemical level inside your body.
- 6:41That's really amazing.
- 6:43Number 11, guys, let hope organize your day.
- 6:47Structure your life around progress.
- 6:50Structure your life around progress.
- 6:53When you see progress, it's time to do
- 6:56something more.
- 6:57That could be your insight that you are
- 6:59on the right track.
- 7:01But sometimes you don't see progress right away.
- 7:04And people see, or they even see the
- 7:07growth from the seed that they planted several
- 7:09weeks or months ago.
- 7:11Number 12, future belief should change present behavior.
- 7:17Act like it matters right now.
- 7:21Act like it.
- 7:22Act as if.
- 7:23Number 13, hope needs discipline.
- 7:26Hope needs discipline.
- 7:29Consistency turns belief into reality.
- 7:33Consistency turns belief into reality.
- 7:37And it becomes like we're on autopilot in
- 7:40a way because now our body's like, okay,
- 7:43I like this.
- 7:44I love this feeling.
- 7:44Let's keep doing more of it.
- 7:47But the key is to stay mindful so
- 7:50that if you are not noticing change or
- 7:54you're feeling like the moments are just drifting
- 7:57quickly through your fingers, it's time to become
- 8:00mindful.
- 8:02Number 14, stay hopeful with your sleeves rolled
- 8:07up.
- 8:07Mine are already rolled up.
- 8:08Optimism requires some effort, requires elbow grease, right?
- 8:13So just thinking doesn't make it so.
- 8:17It might get us comfortable, might put us
- 8:20more at ease, but it doesn't actually move
- 8:23the needle, right?
- 8:24And when I say needle, for those of
- 8:26you that are listening and watching, many years
- 8:29ago, we talked about needles, like for things
- 8:33like the Nielsen reports and other types of
- 8:35barometers to tell us things.
- 8:37We see if the needle goes up or
- 8:40down.
- 8:40Even some weather systems have a needle.
- 8:43Many meters have a needle, but now they're
- 8:46digital.
- 8:47The analog meters were not as accurate as
- 8:50the digital meters.
- 8:52So that's what we mean when we talk
- 8:53about moving the needle.
- 8:54Even if it moves just a little bit,
- 8:56we've moved the needle.
- 8:58Number 16, guys, do not wait for rescue.
- 9:02No one is coming to save you or
- 9:06your future.
- 9:07I'm sorry, I gotta break that to you.
- 9:10No one is coming to save you or
- 9:11your future.
- 9:13It's up to you to act and take
- 9:16the necessary steps so you can get to
- 9:20the success of the future you want.
- 9:23Number 17, guys, participate in your next chapter.
- 9:29Step into it now.
- 9:33Your next chapter can be amazing, can be
- 9:36where all the success lies.
- 9:39You don't need to stay stuck in the
- 9:42chapter that you're currently reading or that you're
- 9:44currently being part of.
- 9:48I think that's a very important thing to
- 9:52definitely understand.
- 9:54You don't need to stay stuck in that
- 9:56chapter.
- 9:58Number 18, create evidence for what you expect.
- 10:02Build proof daily.
- 10:08When proof gets built, we believe.
- 10:13But we should be believing even before the
- 10:17proof was built.
- 10:19Our blind faith should be enough to guide
- 10:23us.
- 10:24But sometimes it doesn't, because people are like,
- 10:27oh my gosh, what am I supposed to
- 10:28do?
- 10:28How do I do this?
- 10:29And they get really lost.
- 10:32And I think that's a very important thing
- 10:34to realize.
- 10:37Number 19, hope widens endurance.
- 10:41Belief helps you last longer.
- 10:46Belief is that special, I'll call it a
- 10:53mojo, if you will, that allows us to
- 10:56get over the hurdle.
- 10:58It helps us last longer.
- 11:02It helps us last longer.
- 11:07Number 20, action protects optimism.
- 11:12Progress keeps belief alive.
- 11:16Progress keeps belief alive.
- 11:19Number 21, keep building through uncertainty.
- 11:24Clarity comes after movement.
- 11:27Clarity comes after movement.
- 11:31If you don't move, you're never gonna get
- 11:33clear.
- 11:33You're never gonna understand where you're going or
- 11:37what you're doing or even what could be
- 11:42wrong or what could be right.
- 11:44Because you have to analyze the data.
- 11:46And once you analyze the data, you can
- 11:48change.
- 11:50You can grow, but you have to first
- 11:53do that.
- 11:55If you don't have data, well, you can't
- 11:59go anywhere.
- 12:01You can't go anywhere.
- 12:03You can't change your trajectory.
- 12:05You can't do anything if you don't have
- 12:08data.
- 12:11So number 21 is keep building through uncertainty.
- 12:15Clarity, as I said, comes after movement.
- 12:17I wanna say that again, because many people
- 12:20think clarity just pops out of nowhere.
- 12:24It doesn't.
- 12:25It comes when we understand.
- 12:31And so understanding happens when we're doing.
- 12:37When we're doing, we become aware of the
- 12:42situation.
- 12:43And that gets our senses to report even
- 12:47more data back to our brain that we
- 12:50can either accept, move on with, or tweak
- 12:54what we're doing so that it changes the
- 12:58outcome.
- 13:00Number 22, hope grows when fed by progress.
- 13:06So we have hope and we give it
- 13:09progress.
- 13:11So I hope this happens.
- 13:13And now we see the needle moving or
- 13:15we see a response and it's positive.
- 13:21We get a small win.
- 13:22And this win is like the fuel that
- 13:26goes into our tank that keeps us going
- 13:29to do even bigger and better things.
- 13:32And we get a much more larger set
- 13:37of belief.
- 13:38But this does not happen overnight.
- 13:42And if you think it is, well, you're
- 13:44gonna be sadly disappointed.
- 13:47Yeah, you're gonna be sadly disappointed because you're
- 13:50thinking that everything has to be now.
- 13:52It has to be on your schedule, but
- 13:53the truth of the matter is it doesn't
- 13:56need to be now.
- 14:04And I will tell you that it's gotta
- 14:09be a belief with you.
- 14:11If you don't have a belief, then you
- 14:14can't move anywhere.
- 14:16You can't do anything.
- 14:21So moving gets us to be in action.
- 14:26And by being in action, we gather data
- 14:31from things we see, things we hear, touch,
- 14:35taste, smell, and even the proprioception position of
- 14:40different parts of our body.
- 14:44So it's great to have hope, but when
- 14:47our hope is stroked with progress or fed
- 14:51progress, those small tiny wins become even bigger
- 14:58than we imagined.
- 15:00And I think that's probably one of the
- 15:02biggest things about hope.
- 15:05Nothing works until we see the ROI.
- 15:13Nothing works until we see the ROI.
- 15:23And it's not just seeing it, it's experiencing
- 15:27it, and it's making it part of who
- 15:30we are, our life.
- 15:33You know, my dad always said to me,
- 15:35you know, John, winning isn't everything.
- 15:39And I'm paying attention here.
- 15:40He says, but you know, it beats anything
- 15:46from coming in second.
- 15:49So in other words, winning is everything.
- 15:53But I think it's how we perceive winning.
- 15:58Are we gonna compromise our values, our morals
- 16:01just to win?
- 16:03Or are we gonna get there in a
- 16:06way that will be in alignment with who
- 16:09we are, our morals, our values?
- 16:13Because if we do, the win will take
- 16:16a little longer to get to, but it
- 16:18will be much more valued and appreciated when
- 16:24we do it from our core values.
- 16:29I'm not telling you it's gonna be one,
- 16:30two, three, because it is not gonna be
- 16:32one, two, three, all right?
- 16:34Number 23, work like renewal is possible.
- 16:41Act like change is real.
- 16:45Act like change is real.
- 16:49Because ladies and gentlemen, change is real.
- 16:53It's just that sometimes when things go wrong
- 16:56in life, we blame change.
- 17:01And then we say, oh, it's not possible.
- 17:04That means nothing else is possible, right?
- 17:08Let me see if I can give you
- 17:09another example.
- 17:11So let's say there was a bad actor,
- 17:15and the bad actor was wearing, I don't
- 17:19know, a green shirt, okay?
- 17:22And they were wearing black pants.
- 17:26And we know the hackers had a green
- 17:28shirt on and black pants.
- 17:30Now, does that mean anytime I see somebody
- 17:33in a green shirt and black pants, they're
- 17:37a hacker?
- 17:38Or there should be a bad feeling?
- 17:40No, but people do this.
- 17:42They associate patterns to things, and they don't
- 17:46even know they're doing it.
- 17:48And then when they finally realize that they're
- 17:52doing it, they're like, oh, wow, I can't
- 17:54believe I was doing that.
- 17:56So they create a pattern, and they didn't
- 17:58know they were creating that pattern.
- 18:00That's key, guys.
- 18:02Number 24, let possibility direct your plans.
- 18:08Build toward what could be.
- 18:11Be open to the types of possibilities.
- 18:16And I've talked about this in the past.
- 18:18When we're open to what we're looking for
- 18:23or something better, that starts to reveal itself
- 18:26in our lives.
- 18:29Yeah.
- 18:30Number 25, guys, choose constructive belief.
- 18:34Focus on what builds, not breaks.
- 18:40Focus on what builds, not breaks.
- 18:44That's key, guys.
- 18:47Number 26, hope keeps vision alive, but action
- 18:54makes it real.
- 18:57Action makes it real.
- 19:04Action makes it real.
- 19:06So hope makes each day more fun, more
- 19:12exciting.
- 19:13But when we take action, and when that
- 19:17action returns a positive feeling, a positive result,
- 19:24we not only know it's real, but it's
- 19:28very believable.
- 19:30And because it's believable, we know it's achievable,
- 19:34and therefore it is repeatable.
- 19:38Funny how that happened.
- 19:40So believable, achievable, repeatable, B-A-R, bar.
- 19:49Bar is the secret to success.
- 19:53Believable, achievable, repeatable, bar.
- 19:57Number 27, guys, determined hope outlasts any setbacks.
- 20:04Persistence will always beat resistance.
- 20:07Let me say that again.
- 20:09Persistence will always beat resistance.
- 20:12Now, it might not feel like that when
- 20:14we're doing it, but over time, it actually
- 20:19causes our old program to go away.
- 20:21Now, there are faster ways to remove that
- 20:23program.
- 20:24I'm not talking about that on this show
- 20:25tonight, but just doing that action with intention
- 20:32will erase the old program that either we
- 20:36or someone else put in our head.
- 20:38You know, that's the reason why a lot
- 20:40of people aren't successful.
- 20:41They have these programs running.
- 20:46When I started with computers many years ago,
- 20:48they called something TSR, terminate and stay resident.
- 20:52A lot of viruses did this when they
- 20:55loaded.
- 20:55Also a lot of mouse drivers.
- 20:57So the computer would boot up in DOS,
- 21:00disk operating system, and the memory driver and
- 21:03the mouse driver, and sometimes the sound driver
- 21:05would be a TSR, a terminate and stay
- 21:08resident program.
- 21:09It loads and it's resident, so it's there
- 21:12anytime the system needs it when we're in
- 21:15Windows.
- 21:16Because back then, Windows wasn't, well, 100%
- 21:20purely connected.
- 21:22It needed the DOS shell to do some
- 21:25stuff.
- 21:26Today, we have the command line, but it
- 21:29has more of its own structure that it
- 21:32can run within.
- 21:33Didn't have that many years ago.
- 21:35Number 28, are you ready for number 28?
- 21:38Okay, number 28 is build what you want
- 21:41to believe in.
- 21:43Create your own proof.
- 21:45When should you do this?
- 21:46Right now, right now.
- 21:50Build what you want to believe in and
- 21:53create your own proof.
- 21:55Number 29, put movement behind your optimism.
- 22:01Put movement behind your optimism.
- 22:02If your optimism's here, right here behind my
- 22:06head, and I push the optimism, I'm giving
- 22:10it flight.
- 22:12I'm allowing it to move from where it
- 22:15is to somewhere else.
- 22:18Put movement in your optimism.
- 22:22Build direction.
- 22:24It does.
- 22:26When we give belief and optimism that movement,
- 22:34and it's got the right coordinates, it's pretty
- 22:40high chance you're gonna reach success.
- 22:44If you are the person shooting on goal
- 22:48in soccer, and you know that if you
- 22:52get that soccer ball on a certain angle
- 22:55enough times, you're eventually gonna get it in
- 23:01the goal.
- 23:01Of course, you got to worry about things
- 23:05like offsides and other people taking the ball
- 23:08from you, and the goalie, of course, coming
- 23:10out and grabbing the ball, but you do
- 23:12it enough times and you focus, somebody's gonna
- 23:15miss.
- 23:16Whether it's the goalie not getting the ball
- 23:19in time or whether it's the person that
- 23:22gets offsides, right?
- 23:27Something is gonna happen.
- 23:30Maybe the person is not gonna be where
- 23:33they thought you were gonna kick the ball.
- 23:35You do it enough times, your body's like,
- 23:38oh, wow, this is getting easier.
- 23:41And then guess what happens?
- 23:43You get a goal.
- 23:44And the team's like, yeah, but that didn't
- 23:48just happen because of that moment.
- 23:50It happened because of all the buildup you
- 23:53did.
- 23:54I think a lot of people don't appreciate
- 23:57buildup because they want everything right now.
- 24:02An example of this, I remember when I
- 24:04was in gym class in high school at
- 24:08my school called Newman Prep, we had these
- 24:11lights in the ceiling, which you probably have
- 24:13heard of before.
- 24:14They were these mercury vapor lights.
- 24:16And when they turned them on the first
- 24:19time, they took about five to 10 minutes
- 24:23to fully come on.
- 24:24They would have like a little bit of
- 24:25a light dim and then they come a
- 24:27little brighter and then bam, they're on.
- 24:29If you turn them off, they didn't always
- 24:32come right back on, depending.
- 24:34Sometimes they would come on in a little
- 24:35less time, but that was a long time,
- 24:38right?
- 24:40But we believe those lights were gonna come
- 24:42on and they did.
- 24:44But you know, lights now come on instantaneously
- 24:48with the LEDs.
- 24:50You just flip it, they come on and
- 24:51they use less power and they're instant.
- 24:56Number 30, guys, choose hope that moves action
- 25:01is the difference.
- 25:02Choose hope that moves action is the difference.
- 25:10Hope that moves action.
- 25:12So if you believe in something, you have
- 25:14hope in something, and that hope gets you
- 25:17to be disciplined enough to take the action,
- 25:22that's where you're gonna see success, guys.
- 25:26That's where you are going to see success,
- 25:29nowhere else.
- 25:31You're gonna see it right then, right there.
- 25:36And you might be saying to me, John,
- 25:38you know, that sounds crazy.
- 25:39It is not crazy, my friends.
- 25:42It is the power of belief.
- 25:45You remember what I just said before, bar.
- 25:48What was bar?
- 25:49Believable, achievable, repeatable.
- 25:54That's pretty powerful.
- 25:58So powerful that just following those steps a
- 26:03few days a week will probably get you
- 26:04to do anything you need to do.
- 26:08Ladies and gentlemen, when we think about hope
- 26:12and we say hope is not enough, I
- 26:15don't mean you shouldn't hope.
- 26:16I mean that you've gotta have some oomph
- 26:19behind your hope.
- 26:21You gotta have some discipline.
- 26:22You gotta have some motivation.
- 26:25Most importantly, you've gotta have action that's all
- 26:30rooted around intentionalism, which is based from your
- 26:35core values.
- 26:39This is exciting stuff, guys.
- 26:41We have one more day left on this
- 26:43master topic.
- 26:44And I love all the topics, but this
- 26:46topic has really resonated with me because so
- 26:50many people I see hope for things.
- 26:53Some people I know, they hope and they're
- 26:55crying.
- 26:56They're hoping, but they're not doing anything.
- 27:00They're hoping.
- 27:01What are you doing?
- 27:01Well, I'm hoping for a job.
- 27:03I'm hoping I'll get a relationship.
- 27:06I'm hoping that I make money.
- 27:09I'm hoping, but what steps are you taking?
- 27:14So having the hope is great, but then
- 27:17you've gotta follow it up with action consistently.
- 27:23Ladies and gentlemen, if any part of this
- 27:26show resonated with you, which I'm sure it
- 27:28did, please go check out BelieveMeAchieved.com.
- 27:32Tell your friends, your colleagues, and your associates.
- 27:35I'm so grateful for everyone that's here.
- 27:37And I'm really excited that my book will
- 27:38be coming out next Friday, not this Friday,
- 27:41but actually April 17th.
- 27:44And remember, ladies and gentlemen, have as much
- 27:47hope as you want, but back it up
- 27:49with hard motivation and discipline.
- 27:55Because that will do more than move the
- 27:58needle to your success.
- 27:59Take care, everyone, and be well.
- 28:05Thank you.
