- 0:01Hello from ecosystems. We send a fraternal greeting to all radio environment staff,
- 0:08the National Federation of Health Workers and its Secretary, Carlos Adamo, for allowing
- 0:13us to be part of this great family that is radio ecosystem environment under the
- 0:20prism of polyhedron. How today' s world works, increasingly complex, more
- 0:39uncertain, changing, seemingly chaotic, a world of all against all or all
- 0:44for all. Not one thing or the other. The world operates in a
- 0:49delicate balance of interacting ecosystems. I propose that you think together about how these
- 0:58ecosystems work. A small pocket manual, perhaps just a bunch of thoughts and
- 1:03reflections that allow us to accommodate, order, orient, understand how we work
- 1:10in these hyper- informed and communicated societies, where it is hard for us
- 1:15to discover their senses and motives every day. I invite you to listen and
- 1:21discover together these ecosystems in which we are often inserted without wanting to be part
- 1:27of them and which, however, are part of our daily struggles and disappointments
- 1:34and under the prism of polyhedron, because every ecosystem is composed of different faces
- 1:41or sides, with its vertices and particularities. Unity in diversity, where the
- 1:48whole is superior to the parties, the agreement superior to the conflict, reality
- 1:52is imposed on the idea and time space. This will allow us to build
- 1:59a world by sustaining an environment full of humanity, in harmony with the unique
- 2:07protective nature of our existence and the generations to come welcome. There are ecosystems
- 2:15under the prism of polyhedron. The first gift I remember, the first toy
- 2:30I remember from my childhood was a little train. It couldn' t be
- 2:38any other way. I' d had some nana out there and I'
- 2:42d spend it there watching as the locomotive. With their wagons they turned round
- 2:47in a circular way in that little train in the house of the grandparents,
- 2:54my railway grandfather and fireman, because at that time he threw coal on those
- 3:02steam locomotives. That' s why he retired more or less young and then
- 3:06he took me for a walk and we got on those Fiat locomotives that had
- 3:12arrived in the sixties and we walked from Las Flores to General Belgrano. I
- 3:15lived in the city of Flores province of Buenos Aires and when we slept at
- 3:20night, the house was near the station. We woke up in the morning
- 3:24with the whistle at the dawn of the train that we called him the Zapalero,
- 3:31because he went there until Euken and that same train brought the newspapers and
- 3:38then, when I was bigger, I took the train to come to study
- 3:40here to the University of Buenos Aires and eye that if the chancho comes because
- 3:46we would climb without ticket, well maybe one has such a loving memory.
- 3:54However, for those who have to take the railroad every day, even one,
- 3:59two three railways trains to get to work and deal with the cuts,
- 4:06with the mobilizations, with the stops, with the accidents like the other day,
- 4:12because the cables were stolen. It makes us think of a reality so
- 4:16different from that bucula than one thinks of one’ s own childhood. It
- 4:21' s a really complex issue. It' s an ecosystem and I wanted
- 4:28to dedicate it in tribute to my family and to what can happen again,
- 4:31because we already burn with milk and again privatization is coming. I didn'
- 4:36t want to ignore without making this ecosystem of trains in Argentina and I say
- 4:46who I' m talking to about trains, who I' m talking to.
- 4:47And there appeared to me a person there, in the networks and in
- 4:51the groups, a militant who has a civil organization that is called standing railways
- 4:59that mentus yasma, for his ability to love and defend and fight for this
- 5:03national heritage and is here with us, Jorge Medrano, welcome, good ecosystems,
- 5:10welcome and thank you for inviting me, because the truth is an honor
- 5:15to be here and an honor, that is, to represent all my colleagues
- 5:18who are really more than concerned. Thirty years of railroad, more than thirty
- 5:24- four wow you saw and didn' t give a shit about the government,
- 5:30so today you do what you do. The comrades are on the list.
- 5:31Unfortunately, there is no one to defend you because I was a union
- 5:38leader of two guilds and, apart from being a company official, it did
- 5:42not reach, it did not reach seniority, it did not reach capacity,
- 5:46it did not reach anything. It would seem that governments only do numbers.
- 5:49They never make the reality that people live, because beyond the number or one,
- 5:55to be out of work is to be left with nothing, because you
- 5:59can collect whatever it is in that mons moment, but you know that the
- 6:03worker does not really have the capacity to save and the ability to invest as
- 6:09has any other who actually live from it the worker. They function in the
- 6:14family way, on which they spend according to what they are clear and when
- 6:18they were left without that. It' s a subject. I mean,
- 6:21that' s why there' s a lot. You' ve been denized.
- 6:24You' re fine, no, no, no, and besides that
- 6:26complex that is in the field of railways, because I also remember the question
- 6:29of outsourcing. Well, Ferreira' s case, for example, at the
- 6:33time. No, if I start with you, let' s start from
- 6:36behind by saying yes, let' s start from the sixties Notice that in
- 6:43the sixties you make an interesting comparison in your magazine. No yes, that
- 6:46you spoke in the time of Frondizi, the time of Mene, in the
- 6:49time of macri' s ore and the time of ma and now the time
- 6:54of the other. I mean, because they are important agendas that have to
- 6:56be taken into account, that people really forget what happened today, because this
- 6:59comes because if you ask me with so many years of service and with so
- 7:03much teaching, because I was part of the training of the railways or I
- 7:10was started as a pawn and I finished as a manager. Imagine that there
- 7:12is a race involved in all of that and he didn' t give it
- 7:15to anyone who clarified and the other, that is, for that I on
- 7:19the railroad, I studied in different ways and trained myself in different ways to
- 7:25achieve the goal, but he didn' t reach it. And well,
- 7:28in the 1960s the Anarqui plan came out where it eliminated a number of kilometers
- 7:34of road and made 70, 000 railways. Yeah, from there it'
- 7:41s the beginning, because it' s not over. There he continued menen
- 7:45with this plan to privatize the state. No, yes, I' m
- 7:53always going to refer to the railway, because that' s what I know,
- 7:58the railroad in the' 70s, well, in the' 60s or
- 8:01as I told you, a number of kilometers of track were reduced. All
- 8:05the steam machines that you know your dad has driven, they' ve eliminated
- 8:09them, the cars, all that. All that stuff was removed and then
- 8:11it comes back to the trust and the general motor. In the nineties,
- 8:16the bike filled came from the United States. Yeah, so, yeah,
- 8:20he went loading the whole towed stuff, which is the locomotive car, all
- 8:24the freight wagons, all that kind of stuff. And there are things that
- 8:30were done here in the Argentine industry. I mean, that' s what
- 8:33military factories were in, too, and I remember in Tucumán, too.
- 8:35Not sure, the workshop is still the workshop have carved these old in Tahibi
- 8:39old coffee, but it was not the only one. You dress up the
- 8:41lineer shop is standing. If you are going to remedy climbing, there is
- 8:46the workshop that also came out the machine from the first screw to the last.
- 8:50It was done there because there was a foundation and so in other areas,
- 8:56because you look at the Pérez workshop, which is in Santa Fe.
- 8:58Also the northwestern workshop of Bahía Blanca that closed it in the nineties. Things
- 9:03were done, too. There are many things there and at present, that
- 9:07is, that the whole railway system was anchored in the possibility of construction and
- 9:11the development of value added on the issue was not only that the train of
- 9:16the zero moment that Perón is statizing the railways that he buys was circulating.
- 9:22He buys England and France. Part of France had part of the railways.
- 9:28At that time, what the General Perón does is to buy the railways with
- 9:31debts they had with Argentina, so that practically it paid us nothing clear and
- 9:37the construction was to branch out the entire railway branch. But economic interests are
- 9:46stronger than ours. That is, what we generate is work and giving work
- 9:52and being workers. We, always the workers, are the verses of the
- 9:58nineties who want to live in the state and in reality it is not.
- 10:01We work for the State and the State has to pay for the labor we
- 10:05do as any worker does not live for the State. That, that'
- 10:11s working, whether it' s in a state enterprise or a private company,
- 10:18and in fact, here in Argentina, no one gives the guarantee of
- 10:20anything, not even to state enterprises or state labor, when it has to
- 10:26be the State that has to give the guarantee that doesn' t give it,
- 10:30that is because you look at the first worlds. What state are the
- 10:33railways in and at what level are we? Far from all that and it
- 10:37is administered by the states and the ministers have spent not only the states,
- 10:41but with the collaboration of the private ones. One to imagine railroads. Think
- 10:45of Italy, for example, which has an extraordinary rail system. I thought
- 10:48of Spain. Spain, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Germany.
- 10:52You understand me. I mean, there' s a lot of them and
- 10:56you notice they have the bullet train. We are from France, we are
- 11:00from Spain, which are great branches than the one that crosses England, the
- 11:03one that crosses in England. Of course exactly then people are not really aware
- 11:09of what the real railway system is here. Actually. Every time it'
- 11:13s probable because we ended Macri' s government and went out in defense of
- 11:18the railroad, because if you asked me, I' m in defense of
- 11:22the ferrocal that I started on the railroad. I entered the railway at twenty
- 11:24years old and before the sixties there is something that the railway has, that
- 11:31has nothing, that is the question of Community, of being a part,
- 11:35of being a family. That' s why there are clubs, no.
- 11:37That' s why there are so many references to railways, railways. We
- 11:41are with Jorge Medrano and of course welcome to the train. Pick up your
- 12:03things and get out of here in the name of Christ, don' t
- 12:13want to go on if no one accepts me. Okay now, Mairé I
- 12:18' m waiting, or my dre arrives. If you' re looking badly
- 12:39finished, you know if I don' t laugh at you. Well,
- 12:45Madame, cut your venereal hair down. If you don' t come with
- 12:56me, can you say goodbye to me can how many you want to be
- 13:15treated? Well, they can as many as they want what golden foundation road,
- 14:50papitos generis. So is Charlie one thousand nine hundred and seventy- three,
- 14:56the first version of welcome to the train with Jorge Medrano in this ecosystem
- 15:01of trains in Argentina. If you see how the branches are in Argentina,
- 15:05you find a kind of Spider web where everything goes to the port of Buenos
- 15:11Aires. This is where it was thought and developed. Moreover, this has
- 15:15to do with a question of Cologne, if you will, and of extractivist
- 15:18countries, which you want to return to now just trying to take all the
- 15:26wealth out. No, and the railroad was also armed with that idea.
- 15:31The railway is so extensive that notice that you had railways to him via railways
- 15:39operating machinery, signposts, personal management and besides ferropertuaries, that it has to
- 15:46do with what you just said that many do not take it into account.
- 15:48But there is the ferroportuary that before was much more important than today, because
- 15:54they handled all the cargo of the ports. You stayed in the' 60s.
- 15:56No. I thought from there, even the bride and groom had a
- 16:00long run that bid between the roads and the railroad, between the truckload and
- 16:07the bus and the train. It really existed. That' s how it
- 16:12always existed. The point is that from the sixties to the nineties it wasn
- 16:17' t a competition to the truck, it was a competition to the passenger.
- 16:21Or moving a lot of people. You notice that the railway not only
- 16:26goes through the provinces, but crosses the border, because the train arrives to
- 16:32Uruguay, the train arrives to Brazil, the train arrives to Bolivia, to
- 16:37Chile and well, the trans- Andean arrived to Venezuela. Then and then,
- 16:41I mean, people, that' s all they don' t remember,
- 16:45because that' s all stopped. The largest railway on the railway line
- 16:48was the Urquisa. The Urquisa today is dead at all i e, the
- 16:53train goes to air missions to the inn then. So, no, no,
- 17:00no, no, no, no, and it' s just freight
- 17:03train. The passengers died most and not only that. Medium short and long
- 17:08distance passenger trains. I don' t mean, there' s the cut
- 17:14- off. Now I was in Uruguay and I was surprised that the same
- 17:19problem we had in Argentina in the 1990s would also be in Uruguay. And
- 17:22this question of railways. It seems as if it was a non- national
- 17:29issue, whether transnational or continent- wide. But it is different because Uruguay
- 17:34is a province our Vo Mira, but they also took the one in the
- 17:41railroad, not clear they lost it because, that is, if it is
- 17:44not given importance here, much less it will be given there, because it
- 17:47was the subject of two. And this, as I say, with Paraguay
- 17:48the same thing and with the others and with Bolivia, Bolivia, in Chile
- 17:52you look, that is, with Chile it was impressive what could have been
- 17:56done and it was not done and wanted to reach Venezuela. You' ve
- 18:00seen everything that happens, everything that' s happened in all of that,
- 18:03and that is to say, that' s done together on an international level,
- 18:08because we, railways, are the biggest thing on a rail level.
- 18:12It was, as you said, a spider web. It was that that
- 18:17went through a different province, going south. That' s why we got
- 18:19the train to land the fire and it doesn' t come anymore. You
- 18:22came to Río Negro Bariloche and you' re missing two thousand and a bill
- 18:26of kilatros. Then all the other branches remained like tourist trains. There are
- 18:32many railway museums, there are many tourist trains, but they run it privately,
- 18:34because it has the jumping train, that the world cloud train, the
- 18:37nine o' clock train, that is in Rio Negro. All of that
- 18:42is either so or notice that we, in our newsletter, are always putting
- 18:47that out because people seem not to be there and there are many trains like
- 18:52that touristic, but it is a matter, but it does not matter to
- 18:57the industrial process, of economic roll. That' s tourist, it'
- 19:02s commercial. That is to say, here the railway development really so that
- 19:06industrialization, as there is no industrial policy, you saw because the I mean,
- 19:11you notice that when the Forrosur was privatized in the 1990s, it grabbed
- 19:18black loma all because of mining. But that is, and you notice that
- 19:22I worked in ferro air. They gave priority to the freight train and not
- 19:26to the passenger train the pass. That' s for you to see the
- 19:30level that we were, not me and where the boss was really, of
- 19:37course, because this is a question of boss and peasant. We were the
- 19:40peasants and they were the bosses and not only that when the railroads of the
- 19:45nineties were granted, for me they were going to put in the nineties.
- 19:48Railways were always State property. And this is the difference in the primeta section
- 19:55you' d like to make today. Or so, if I gave up
- 20:00the use entirely, that' s what happened. It' s simigliano when
- 20:02it was the accident at eleven, of course exactly TMR, also when the
- 20:07other one had it. Okay. Now I don' t remember the name.
- 20:08I try not to remember those names because there were livers, of course,
- 20:15because there were people who only did trade. You know what I mean,
- 20:19they kicked out the railroads and then they had to take them three months
- 20:23because they work with the railroads. The railway being we call it zero railway
- 20:27trades does not pass. You have to live at age seven, eight or
- 20:34ten years recently to be a railway. This is where it is and the
- 20:41administrative is railway administrative, but it is not the operative and then it marks
- 20:45you for life. Of course, because you see, I have no family,
- 20:48that is the first railway, I was family. Then I was integrating
- 20:52family and well, some stayed and some didn' t. But before there
- 20:56was the collective labor agreements of the four guilds, it was that you retired
- 21:03and entered your son or some relative of yours that ceased to exist. Then
- 21:08that' s where the railway being is lost. The big blow comes in
- 21:11the' 90s you make a difference that there were ninety thousand employees. Well
- 21:17and also well was the idea to give the one to branch that earth.
- 21:19No And that if from there, in the ninety zero there were nine thousand
- 21:25left, notice that today we are ten percent that two, well, and
- 21:27in the sixties they cast seventy thousand. In the Macri government, four thousand
- 21:33more than four thousand five hundred people were thrown out. They want to throw
- 21:37in two stages that they haven' t done yet because they don' t
- 21:41have the money for the compensation, but they have already done it. How
- 21:44many ferrocarriary employees there are today twenty- three, twenty- four thousand persus
- 21:48twenty- four or less. Yeah, but over there. You have to
- 21:52incorporate the whole amba, not because everything, because you notice what I said
- 21:56you have eight have are or themes. I' m gonna have the presidents
- 22:00in every province. You have ferrocativa and Argentine premieres. You have as a
- 22:06railway company of state society, which is one and Argentine trains. There'
- 22:10s the dif there' s the SOFTs. You understand me. There are
- 22:12different, different parts that are managed by infrastructure, by operation, by training,
- 22:19by other issues, and there are provincial, not provincial, trains.
- 22:25There' s the one from Rio Negro, nothing more, the only one
- 22:27left, the one going to Mar del Plata, the one from that nation
- 22:32to that was us. I belonged to that, which was Ferrobaire, Ferrobair,
- 22:36delivered everything, did not stay with the province Buenos Aires, manages us
- 22:40mountren ah Mira Vos. That' s closed. That closed it. Maria
- 22:42Eugenia Vidal, where she throws directly more than two zero people. You understand
- 22:48me and accumulating with what was the only branch or there was someone else.
- 22:51No, yes, there' s the one from Bahía Blanca, the one
- 22:53from Junía, the one from Retiro Junín, the one from Eleven, fucked
- 22:57up and shitted. Well, he was going to the pampa, the pampa
- 23:03you saw is Santa Rosa. Yes, then, well, but already you
- 23:06notice that I was going to a tandil there were no others, the one
- 23:11of short twenty- five of May and also loving that all that was when
- 23:18it started with air lining, there was all the process to get to Bariloche,
- 23:22because it is of the rock, the ferrocanel rock belongs to Bariloche.
- 23:25Then that' s where you say it. You have to have knowledge to
- 23:29say these things. And he didn' t write it to me. Nobody.
- 23:30I lived it because I was a part of it. I also worked
- 23:33on a railway project. Now, when you think here, this system is
- 23:37more economical is healthier for the environment totally has greater capacity for loading arrival.
- 23:47Each here, every freight train carries fifteen trucks. An environmental detail is much
- 23:53healthier than any plane and than the collective and that the truck and above is
- 23:59less dangerous, totally accidentally safe then and the transfer is safe. And besides,
- 24:11here, the failures when there is an accident are management failures. And
- 24:17when I speak of management, it is not of the worker, it is
- 24:19of the administrators, that never here the engineer is identified and the signer is
- 24:26identified and the rest none was ever given a name. This happened the eleven
- 24:29too and you agreed in the eighties, when the derailer was there or in
- 24:33quilme. If you remember, at that time, when the brown cars were
- 24:37there, you remember, well, there was a big three car that was
- 24:41dead and also giant. And no one, that is, there was never
- 24:45a high- ranking management staff in sight, not even the problem of the
- 24:51Minister of Transport, nor the Secretary of Transport, nor anything like that.
- 24:55However, those are the consequences, these accidents, are the management consequence.
- 25:00Management because you see if you' ve already been warned, although the cables
- 25:04were stolen, cancel the thin trains, you can' t work like this,
- 25:08but keep going, keep going? Well, but is it? But
- 25:11isn' t it? Keep going. It' s my kid' s
- 25:19time. Never explain, because there was never a Teufonic train already exploded and
- 25:30very few we gave fon do, the world has no water. More like
- 25:41parming in so nothing dead ways and a stranger in the past, confused by
- 26:00how the loose flower matter flows from the sea the atmosphere without sob exploded and
- 26:11very few we were able to zap. The world has no water. Tomorrow
- 26:23come find my so good nothing and slender that I express myself that it remained
- 26:33in the pass. Take me back and see me coming in, sir,
- 28:33I' m about a quarter of chrome, one thousand nine hundred and eighty
- 28:37- four, the Spinetta Flank. I want to see a train. I
- 28:40want to see because, in addition to everything we tell, there is a
- 28:45romantic, loving question. If you want, you write to the train,
- 28:51you think of the station waiting or firing someone. It' s not something
- 28:57that' s coming hits you somewhere else, no, not the same as
- 29:00an omnibus terminal. There' s a song Jairus made and he' s
- 29:07coming. That was the one who romantically identified the railroad. He' s
- 29:11the son of a railroad, he' s already coming into this postmodern world.
- 29:15There are three elements that are its substantial substantial. One is language,
- 29:22artificial intelligence, the way we have to communicate, the whole big data,
- 29:26the whole story. This one is the energy. Not how I' m
- 29:33gonna be able to run every computer car, house, cold heat, whatever.
- 29:38No. The third is transport. It' s how we move from
- 29:42one place to another and there' s the railroad. Let' s just
- 29:45say, he doesn' t have anything to give him. I don'
- 29:48t understand, let' s say today I don' t know if it
- 29:52' s Grandma' s jewel that' s being privatized. It' s
- 29:56Grandma' s jewel. Unfortunately, you notice that if you don' t
- 30:00add artificial intelligence to the railway, as it is said now, it would
- 30:06be much more drinkable because that' s why where I go abroad, or
- 30:14notice that trains are in the air in Japan, because of the magnetism it
- 30:19has is not electric, it is electric up, but below magnetic magnetism,
- 30:23because if not, the train would derail every time because of the speed it
- 30:29carries here. You can' t do that because first of all, income.
- 30:32They have done a great job in railway works, great because everything that
- 30:37is in railway line is on the level of the river of the Sea,
- 30:44where it crosses. You see, you can flood everything but the tracks while
- 30:48you' re saying. Okay, okay. This is very typical in the
- 30:52province of Buenos Aires, the work that was done in all places to be
- 30:56able to know where you wanted to build, where you diciete, where the
- 31:00ciclises did. At each station a church was formed, there was commissary,
- 31:06there were hospitals, there was school. It has to do with that all
- 31:10the peoples here just the question geological study totally implicable because they went up to
- 31:17do at that time, that is, the time that began the railway issue.
- 31:21That was great, and General Perón took advantage of it when he nationalized
- 31:26him. What they didn' t know to take advantage of was the officials
- 31:30and they spoke in all governments, governments and officials that that' s what
- 31:36derailed everything. Because I remember when I entered the railroad in the eighties,
- 31:38because I was doing school with the colimba and the railroad entered. So,
- 31:45getting on the railroad was like being a cop, it was like being a
- 31:48doctor. There were a lot of things that hierarchized you that nowadays being railway
- 31:53seems to be at the same level as other trades, much lower at the
- 32:00level of work, be despised, etcetera. Of course because on top of
- 32:07that is how they build you, how ah you are a engineer, you
- 32:09are, you are a barrier guard that today you did not make because it
- 32:14is alone the barriers take us. Then there are a lot of things that
- 32:16don' t see the hierarchy that the railroad has. That' s why
- 32:20I say, when I started already formed and when they put me in charge
- 32:27of a sector, the first thing I did was try to put together a
- 32:35training system, because the comrades knew, but they didn' t realize that
- 32:38those who knew, because one thing the practical and another the theoretical, and
- 32:43without the two things they have to do. They knew the practical, but
- 32:45they didn' t throw it away and how they alarmed you in a better
- 32:49way than coming from a school or college. Now, Jorge, why don
- 32:52' t you generate affection for the railroad then on the part of the people.
- 32:57Why don' t you defend it, why don' t you take
- 33:00care of it, because people are believed to have been instilled in people that
- 33:05if the railroad doesn' t walk, it' s for the railroads first
- 33:08and they put it as an enemy. If you for the train, make
- 33:10a stop on demand of x things, the problem is with the railways or
- 33:14not with the officials, because you notice that the railway is always attacked.
- 33:17If we, by measure of force, cut the road, the problem of
- 33:22the railway, not of the official, now, why don' t we
- 33:27face why it happens in these people, that is to say, that it
- 33:29puts like scapegoat the union question totally of the worker, not even union,
- 33:36because the union I told you out of microphone. It' s another matter.
- 33:40In addition, there are four guilds, they are different, each one
- 33:44more prizes. Now they have become more guilds, now they will be recognized.
- 33:47It does not have the fraternity and the railway union, but now there
- 33:52is the fraternity of union ferrovias to PDFA that is the personnel of direction and
- 33:58signposts that signposter is getting small you see eating it the system, because all
- 34:05the last accident were those that had in the picota. Sure good and you
- 34:08look, that' s a guy in such a robbery or wires type in
- 34:13the cabin. You can see from far away from a cabin you don'
- 34:16t see so we don' t have half. There are cameras that tell
- 34:20you how they have on the outside. They' ve got the cameras up
- 34:24the train and they' ve got the camera in the run of the track.
- 34:28There' s no such possibility here. So, if you look at
- 34:31the main stations, Plaza Constitución or you retire what I know there are booths.
- 34:37You saw with all the televisions. Who does that serve who serves and
- 34:40I ask why they don' t sell me smoke in that sense. You
- 34:46saw and I didn' t complain about the worker. I' m always
- 34:50going to defend the worker. Now, Jorge, why is this so good?
- 34:52Now comes the railway increases. Why we never have an intermediate rate that
- 34:58isn' t even a gift as a gift has happened a long time and
- 35:01that' s against subsidized and then it seems that anyone can and how to
- 35:07climb. And then these things happen that demand the fare to the clouds.
- 35:12You couldn' t think of anything intermediate that could be worth benefiting everyone.
- 35:16If the issue is that it always has to do with the economic plan.
- 35:21If the economic plan does not have the sustainability for a railway plan, there
- 35:27is no railway. Speaking of passages, whatever, because you look at the
- 35:31passages. It is established by the State, because it belongs to the State.
- 35:36If before a fee was dirty, if before it was suspicious or it
- 35:39was okay because they could all travel. It' s not the same today,
- 35:44because it' s not sucidal. And there' s an issue there,
- 35:46because you notice that when he privatized menen he granted, the concession took
- 35:52place. Today how you sell the railroad if it doesn' t happen,
- 35:57if there' s no subsidy, because not who' s going to catch
- 36:01something that' s losing, because the railroad is losing on all issues around
- 36:05the world. But at every loss he knows what the long- distance passenger
- 36:07train is, but you know that the freight train makes a profit, and
- 36:14that sustains what the passenger is what they don' t do, because in
- 36:15the nineties, what Nausta was selling you and what Grondona was selling you was
- 36:20that the problem was the railways and the number of railways and that it was
- 36:23a loss, but they never did it economically, because you notice. When
- 36:29they talk to you about ferrovian reactivation, they only talk to you about the
- 36:32freight train, never the passenger and they' ll never talk about a workshop,
- 36:38so to speak, that we' re going to reactivate a workshop,
- 36:42we' re going to reactivate own machines, the wagons themselves. Not because
- 36:43they want to bring everything from the outside, because you look at it.
- 36:45It' s okay. We bought all the trains from the Chinese. But
- 36:47the Chinese give you a guarantee. When this happened in the government of Alfonsín,
- 36:52when the identification was made in the rock, you remember that it opened
- 36:57it six months before the Chinese said. We lost the guarantee by inaugurating it
- 37:04six months before ferrocarriy for an election issue at that time. Well, I
- 37:09' m clearing it up for you. Then you lose the warranty and the
- 37:13other one. When they bring the electric trains, they came with technicians from
- 37:19China who had to give the training to our workers you think they gave it.
- 37:22Some do and some don' t. Then you miss that, as
- 37:28you end up fixing the train with wire. Why the comrades are treated,
- 37:31why the railway is practical, because you already know what the trap is,
- 37:36but the technical doesn' t know. And that the contracts that are made
- 37:39are jave in hand and comes with everything already him, but you don'
- 37:43t know. People don' t have it in public. That' s
- 37:45not in public because you look at it. They give you a decree and
- 37:49point out certain things to you, but they don' t tell you what
- 37:54the contracts really are because today we have two or three companies no more,
- 37:59that are in privatization and that are still succied because Terden didn' t succumb
- 38:01to it. Yeah, but that' s the way it is on the
- 38:06amba, not on the flash. Yeah, yeah, we' re talking
- 38:07here some subways and the other one' s two. I don' t
- 38:09remember. Now, but I say and this you look at. But yes,
- 38:14they reduced everything that the national foreign budget completely reduced it. Then nothing
- 38:20' s gonna work. Yeah, because the railroad needs that. If you
- 38:23cut off the railway work that was being done, you already cut everything because
- 38:30you looked at stations there were intermediate stations between Espeleta station and Quilme there was
- 38:36a station in the middle between Droguey and Boursaco. There' s another intermediate
- 38:42station. That' s all stopped and I' m talking about two I
- 38:45always see, but there' s more. Then I' m going to
- 38:49say and how you take the train to the villages, because our fight and
- 38:52if you read in the magazine, our fight is the return of the train
- 38:57to the villages totally because there are towns that are growing, because there is
- 39:02no railroad, because there is no connection with the big cities or with the
- 39:06other towns. Then you understand that great problem, that we have the connection
- 39:09that you spoke of a principle, that is, it is made through the
- 39:14railroad. It was always made and not made by the collective. The collective
- 39:16has a terminal and died there. And it' s not the same as
- 39:21on a train arrival, because the station everyone lived, that is, street
- 39:25vendors, people who made food, people who sold their crafts. It was
- 39:31like an arrival and when the festivities of the villages were held, it reached
- 39:36the people of the outside through the train. Then it' s those things
- 39:40that were traditionally lost. Listen to me the stationmaster of every railway station in
- 39:45the villages was like the mayor. Yes, because he also handled the telegraph,
- 39:52he handled everything, because he had the whole connection, because you look
- 39:57at it, everything was handled through the train. So to say, there
- 40:00was a giant connection that was lost. That Jorge Medrano is with us like
- 40:06this with that fervor, like the clear railway Kairo. The wonder, an
- 40:20avantipuestro wonder many dreams of the thief of carryings that is in the photograph claim
- 40:52alive dead by all the police iran They do not have portraits much I do
- 41:05not get favored and beard. Thank you buy modid Don' t cstan mi
- 41:19bayo queer del mar megaros I' m not a lega guy or my grandfather,
- 41:32my father and I. While the three of us were railways, but
- 41:42they stopped nostrares because they were poor songs of saw gualgasto all desert. The
- 41:52mitre remainserio and the middle grade. Dead is what fermo mario cipone itches him
- 42:02from the first manure or after pieces he was very much at night to steal
- 42:27the locomotive. I' m either the truth or I' m tearing you
- 42:40apart from the Roman or the rock house, the carida excited or ten days
- 42:52I' m touched by the oria. I' m not in your maria.
- 43:01S biencias de transtentenernos, God, God or solicula The rabid faith pro
- 43:28ferroario. Word of Jorge Medrano, railway, railway word, says Jairo.
- 43:45Spectacular that theme of truth that always filled us with pride, because it takes
- 43:50us and deepens us in all the feeling that we have. The railroad for
- 43:57us is life. We used to say in the village when we watched a
- 44:04movie from the Metrobolden Mayer, Esa del León I already saw it. And
- 44:07now we have to say the same thing. I' ve seen that one
- 44:10from the Lion. We said this movie we saw, of course, we
- 44:14saw it and you already suffered it in your own flesh. It was my
- 44:17turn to be a union leader in the nineties. Imagine that, on the
- 44:24one hand, I stopped the fraternity of sixty days or so he did,
- 44:30and I was from the Railway Union, I could not accompany that because my
- 44:35national leaders were not in favour of that. It was another fight. But
- 44:44what I didn' t do, without giving more details, was point out
- 44:50who had to make that clear ever. And I objected because I always said
- 44:55at that time that I was much younger than now. If I have to
- 45:00beat anyone it' s gonna be on the court, but not that way.
- 45:06That' s not necessary. You say in your magazine that one of
- 45:10the most deficit companies is railways after Narsa, not to say Narza is the
- 45:15big deficit in the country. The second, with three hundred and sixty million,
- 45:22is the railways. It' s okay, it' s deficit or
- 45:25I want to sell because I don' t want to keep paying and holding
- 45:30this, but for who' s business and the ferrore someone will want to
- 45:34buy them first, and this gets for sale is because there' s some
- 45:37buyer since first I don' t say it. If the indec doesn'
- 45:37t say that, that fact has officially taken you out of the index,
- 45:44because I' m not going to play with those issues because if we'
- 45:49re not giving bad information, it has to be official entirely. Now.
- 45:51If you believe the Indian or don' t believe him, it' s
- 45:52another thing. But we officially took it out. Every piece of information we
- 45:55give, we get it official, because if we don' t have to
- 46:00give our opinion, equally one thing that I speak as opinion and another thing
- 46:04that we give as information. In this case, what you ask me about,
- 46:07I mean, this always points to the big companies that aren' t
- 46:14here, they' re out there, yeah, and the truth is this
- 46:22is always going to put an X entrepreneur, but it' s actually run
- 46:24by others. And this goes into the stock market, gets into everything now
- 46:30the railroads. Anyone who buys them is going to have to invest, they
- 46:34' re going to have to put a lot of money in order to make
- 46:37it fit. But there' s the issue in general, where I was
- 46:39talking to you about what to say and without subsidy how they' re going
- 46:42to do it. It' s impossible for them to grab it, because
- 46:45the railroad from lost laja, but it' s a loss for what I
- 46:51told you, that is, and here what they' re going to do
- 46:54is a social communication function. Yeah, yeah, but it' s a
- 46:57human right. But if you see today the President is not talking about a
- 47:00present state, no, then forget what he is talking about. So it
- 47:05' s the railroad isn' t going to be for that, it'
- 47:07s going to be just for what it serves for them. So what does
- 47:10that mean that you' re going to check out a lot more, because
- 47:14you notice it comes from Achica and Chique and we can never get it back.
- 47:16When it' s recovering, it falls again it changes the government and
- 47:21every change of government it' s like it states that what was done before
- 47:23it doesn' t have to be followed and we' re wrong. There,
- 47:27there is the big problem, because you notice that there are countries that,
- 47:30with differences and ideological criteria, also continue certain projects. They do not
- 47:39put their dynamism, their mysticism, but it continues here, not here,
- 47:45it is cut for the healthy, because it is not possible to cut everything
- 47:50so easy the railroad. If you don' t invest it and you don
- 47:53' t give it maintenance. It' s going to fall clear You see
- 47:59that nowadays in Avellano you look at what the provincial train was. People put
- 48:02houses up the track and nobody did anything. In other districts they have directly
- 48:09blocked the way to make park that line was lost. And we have the
- 48:15Museum in Llaneda bird, sorry. If we have the Avellaneda Museum, which
- 48:17is in front of a hypermarket and we have it as a museum because it
- 48:27has no way out. And that was the first of the railways that had
- 48:30the Rocca then and as in other areas, because I see and investigate and
- 48:37I inform myself so that happens in other areas. I went in the river,
- 48:43too. We held a congress of railway mercour with people from the agricultural
- 48:51sector, businessmen and people from Uruguay who were interested in the railway train and
- 48:54fell all that with the project, the project that the government has today.
- 49:00And this is where I was about to go if it' s not the
- 49:06railway project, it' s not within the economic, there' s no
- 49:10project and there' s no good money from now on, from now on,
- 49:15because it' s going through the financial and the economic. Here,
- 49:16I' m talking about a place that I don' t know much about
- 49:21economics and financials. But I realize certain things, because I know the operating
- 49:24system the railway, and the operating system is not handled like that because yes
- 49:30and this is not a matter of you having to have a computer, because
- 49:32the railway is going on, because it takes it to a driver and,
- 49:37apart from the driver, all the people who go up the train working,
- 49:43because before the train guard was the head of the train. Today he disappeared
- 49:49as the head of three. He' s not the boss of the train
- 49:51anymore. If you watch when you get on a train today or even a
- 49:54ticket, they ask you clearly don' t keep well, it' s
- 49:59lost. Then say what' s happening to all of this. I mean,
- 50:02it' s not just the government here. No, there are other
- 50:07actors who also have to do with this issue. They change the ecosystem,
- 50:09they change, yes, but it works. But in that change you have
- 50:14to prepare certain things too, because I am already talking about the sectors that
- 50:17also have to do with this. You saw that I don' t leave
- 50:22anyone outside even making tea that you tell me the blind people don' t
- 50:27talk about transport or talk according to their guild. Today, the union leaders,
- 50:31i e, if they do a bully, they first go for their
- 50:35guild. Their flags are first. And it' s not like that.
- 50:37It wasn' t like that before. I was listening to a thinker last
- 50:42Monday who said a certain truth, not that rights, in order to be
- 50:50rights, have to be universal. When they' re one' s rights,
- 50:53they' re privileges. Of course you notice how many rights we lost.
- 50:57But I' m not just not talking about this government, I'
- 51:00m talking about the previous ones, I' m talking about those who are
- 51:04supposed to be from the stick for saying something that they aren' t,
- 51:09because when they were in front of us they ignored us and there' s
- 51:14all why for a matter of agreement with people who don' t agree with
- 51:17us, because we' re ex- railway and we' re already charging
- 51:17in initiation and that' s it. It' s like we don'
- 51:19t have the right to work, it' s like there can' t
- 51:22be a second b and this is what we don' t agree with,
- 51:27because in the nineties the comrades who were also in the fight in the nineties
- 51:30to get their job back. It didn' t happen, but they did
- 51:32with friends and people very close to it. So that' s not known
- 51:38We Yes we' re going to say it and we' re going to
- 51:42say it all because he' s happening to the current comrades who were looking
- 51:45at us sideways in due course and I' m looking at us head-
- 51:47on now. I see, for example, the people of the mobilized mail,
- 51:52the people of Argentine airlines mobilized, the people of radio and television of
- 51:57the mobilized state, I do not see railroad. Udo there I' m
- 52:04going to aim you' re not going to see it, because the guilds
- 52:07make that not happen, even though they think they own every situation. They
- 52:12do it if they decide, you understand me and the other when you'
- 52:19re active it' s like you say your boss isn' t the railroad,
- 52:22it' s the guild and that' s the other problem that'
- 52:24s and all the guilds are going through. It' s okay. Ah
- 52:27if you do something that does not agree with the guild, because you notice
- 52:30that within the guilds there is also opposition, but of that opposition is minimal.
- 52:35They don' t have the necessary strength. So I was a union
- 52:38official and I know how it worked. But as an official I defended until
- 52:43the opponent Jorge in the final minutes as we left from the maze. And
- 52:49this for me, if there is no leadership and I speak in the political
- 52:52and in the trade union, this does not come out and together you cannot
- 52:57be divided, because today I am talking about the guilds, the frank of
- 53:00the Union forlority. They' re divided, they' re in different lines
- 53:02and that' s not good. That causes decay and I say even to
- 53:07myself that they agree that that will happen so they don' t have a
- 53:14defense, because to us it was clear a guild defended us and others did
- 53:17not. And it doesn' t matter what affiliation here. Zo is the
- 53:22railway and the railway. You have to defend both things, because if you
- 53:25first talk about the technical railway system now, you have to talk about it,
- 53:30but now you can' t talk about it and, strategically, think
- 53:32that we need a strong railway because of the size of the country, because
- 53:37of the amount of wealth we have, even if they want to take it
- 53:42outside, we need to move it. Let' s say in any case,
- 53:46it is an indispensable tool to have a solid, firm, competent railway
- 53:54system and you notice. We' re done. The Macri Maccrividal government has
- 53:58not and recently fired 150 comrades from the Central Railway Administration of Argentine Trains.
- 54:07The Union forrriari Defendes all those comrades. All those comrades entered Macri' s
- 54:09time with us. They didn' t. I' m not against those
- 54:13comrades, well, I applaud them, but they didn' t do the
- 54:16same to us. There are internal problems there that they must. First,
- 54:21it is a problem more than economic internals. Yes, or because you notice
- 54:25that from the famous save one of the guilds makes stops and the other speaks
- 54:30of railway system or plans. It' s like following the business. If
- 54:35you don' t forget that in the time of Mene Mene gave him the
- 54:38Grano Pedraza railway that was from the Railway Union and where it is. That
- 54:44' s out of the blue. You understand me it' s always the
- 54:49business and Stanpotens is above it. It appears from the workers, the workers
- 54:52of one thing and this you tell me, in order to defend system it
- 54:53has to defend the worker. Also Jorge, I think this is the starting
- 54:58point for other talks that we' re going to have later. Thank you
- 55:00very much for this time with us in ecosystems has been very interesting. In
- 55:06addition, I greatly appreciate the railway' s work, the railway' s
- 55:14hands, that story that represents my grandparents, my uncles, my family.
- 55:19I thank you so much. Thank you and good for all those who want
- 55:22to know the official website. Ours is that of Facebook, which is Ferroviario
- 55:27de Pie. With that they just enter our page and see everything that we
- 55:30really did, we do and we want to do. Thank you very much,
- 55:37Jorge Medrano Ferroviarios de Pie Civil Association in struggle for our national heritage.
- 55:43My name is Luis del Giovanino. There' s that yellow quiel in the
- 55:47technical operation, there' s Melina Reboa in the production. This is ecosystem.

- 55:55will meet again in this medium when you will. Chao has infish Achocha,
