- 0:04Speaker 1: NFL Power Rankings is a production of the NFL in
- 0:07Speaker 1: partnership with iHeartRadio.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello, friends, and welcome to get another edition of the
- 0:15Speaker 2: NFL Power Ranking Show.
- 0:16Speaker 3: We are presented by Energizer.
- 0:19Speaker 2: We are here every Tuesday on the NFL Channel and
- 0:21Speaker 2: always in podcast formed you take us anywhere. Eric at
- 0:24Speaker 2: Holme is on one side of the screen. My name
- 0:27Speaker 2: is Andrew Siciliano. We are live from Chicago and our
- 0:31Speaker 2: studios in Los Angeles, and I have a confession to
- 0:34Speaker 2: make here, Eric, So I looked at Week three and
- 0:37Speaker 2: we could just pull back the curtain when we did
- 0:39Speaker 2: the show last week and we're looking at all these
- 0:41Speaker 2: great Week three games. I didn't think the schedule was
- 0:45Speaker 2: any good, Really, I didn't. I mean, there's the Falcons
- 0:48Speaker 2: and the Lions. That game really wasn't even that good.
- 0:50Speaker 2: But the rest of the schedule you're like, eh, And
- 0:52Speaker 2: then what do you know? We had another one of
- 0:54Speaker 2: those crazy you have to see it to believe a
- 0:57Speaker 2: kind of weeks, and even Taylor Swift showed up and
- 1:01Speaker 2: dropped f bombs from a suite at Arrowhead.
- 1:05Speaker 4: You never know what's gonna happen, Andrew, That's why we
- 1:07Speaker 4: watched the games, obviously it was there.
- 1:09Speaker 5: There were some great fourth quarter comebacks.
- 1:11Speaker 4: There were some blowouts too, but plenty of compelling action
- 1:14Speaker 4: and a hard week for me. I'll be honest, a
- 1:17Speaker 4: lot of these teams are hard to separate right in
- 1:20Speaker 4: the middle anyway.
- 1:21Speaker 5: But we'll try our best, all right.
- 1:22Speaker 2: We're catting down our top thirty two Taylor Swift songs.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Where do new Romantics fall in the list? As Travis
- 1:30Speaker 2: Kelce and Taylor are now America's number one couple. The
- 1:33Speaker 2: new rankings would you can find a NFL dot com
- 1:36Speaker 2: or if you scan that funny looking QR thing on
- 1:39Speaker 2: your screen, have the Dolphins up for to number one,
- 1:43Speaker 2: and then the Niners, the Chiefs, the Eagles, and the
- 1:46Speaker 2: Buffalo Bills. There at number five, six through eight, America's
- 1:51Speaker 2: team plummeting.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Only two on man, We'll get to that later.
- 1:55Speaker 2: The Cowboys are six, the Lions are seven, and the
- 1:58Speaker 2: Ravens here are number eight. The team that we trust
- 2:04Speaker 2: team of the week was out of my truest bank.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Here the team of the week eric at home the
- 2:10Speaker 2: Miami Dolphins. All they did was set thirteen records, score
- 2:16Speaker 2: seventy points, pull down the Broncos pants and laugh at them.
- 2:20Speaker 3: You think they're the best team in football.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Well, certainly, scoring seventy points, something we haven't seen since
- 2:26Speaker 4: the nineteen sixties is a pretty good thing. I mean,
- 2:29Speaker 4: obviously we had seen a lot of evidence of how
- 2:31Speaker 4: dangerous this team could be on the road, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 4: averaging thirty points and four hundred and sixty some odd
- 2:36Speaker 4: yards per game. They come home, they absolutely demolished the Broncos.
- 2:40Speaker 4: You know, Devin h Chane played. You know, I had
- 2:42Speaker 4: two touches against New England. You had two hundred and
- 2:44Speaker 4: thirty three yards and four touchdowns total against Denver. So
- 2:49Speaker 4: just another addition to speed to this this team like
- 2:51Speaker 4: it really needs it, right. And then defensively we saw
- 2:54Speaker 4: some improvement. Three turnovers. They're getting better. Vic Fanji will
- 2:57Speaker 4: have this group whipped into shape. And I don't even
- 3:00Speaker 4: know if they need them. Dofense is just that special
- 3:02Speaker 4: right now an.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Here, right?
- 3:03Speaker 2: They go to Buffalo this week. Well we'll get to
- 3:05Speaker 2: the Bills a little bit later. They had a great
- 3:07Speaker 2: performance in Washington. Sack and Sam Howell nine times you
- 3:10Speaker 2: mentioned the defense.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I understand why.
- 3:12Speaker 2: You put the Dolphins number one. For Pete's sake. They
- 3:15Speaker 2: scored seventy points. But do you think they are a
- 3:19Speaker 2: complete team, Like, are you buying the defense or is
- 3:23Speaker 2: this just a I mean, come on, it's week four,
- 3:26Speaker 2: they scored seventy they got to be number one.
- 3:29Speaker 5: I think it's a little both, right.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Obviously, anytime you see this kind of offensive output, you
- 3:34Speaker 4: just say to yourself, do they need defense?
- 3:36Speaker 5: Well, of course they do.
- 3:37Speaker 4: There's gonna be some team that kind of cracks that code,
- 3:40Speaker 4: slows to in company down a little bit, and that's
- 3:43Speaker 4: going to put the onus on the defense. But you know,
- 3:45Speaker 4: you see, obviously Christian Wilkins is a centerpiece there. They
- 3:48Speaker 4: might get Jalen Ramsey later in the season. Andrew Vangyinkle's
- 3:51Speaker 4: really running around and making plays with his hair on fire,
- 3:54Speaker 4: and he's got a lot of beautiful hair.
- 3:55Speaker 5: We don't want to see it burn.
- 3:56Speaker 4: But I'm telling you, I think this defense is a
- 3:58Speaker 4: lot deeper and more talented than we've seen in recent years.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Savian Howard could still close people down, So I.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Think the pieces are there.
- 4:05Speaker 4: And you know, Vic Fangio can let you march down
- 4:08Speaker 4: the field, He'll just clamp down once you get close
- 4:10Speaker 4: to the end zone.
- 4:10Speaker 5: And that's I think a formula for winning for mine.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Weekn agree on one thing. They are the most fun
- 4:15Speaker 3: team to watch.
- 4:16Speaker 2: They are a must see viewing experience, a must buy
- 4:20Speaker 2: ticket if they're coming to town. Hey, kids, come on
- 4:23Speaker 2: down to the stadium. I want you to be able
- 4:25Speaker 2: to tell your kids that one day you saw the
- 4:28Speaker 2: team that scored seventy points. Come down and see the
- 4:31Speaker 2: number one team in Eric at Holmes New Power Rankings,
- 4:34Speaker 2: the Miami Dolphins. The Niners were number one. They followed
- 4:37Speaker 2: the number two. The Chiefs were number two. Eric, despite
- 4:42Speaker 2: now Taylor Swift being their biggest fan, despite all the
- 4:46Speaker 2: magic that she brought not only to Arrowhead but the
- 4:50Speaker 2: Sunday Night coming up this week and met Life Stadium,
- 4:53Speaker 2: you somehow dropped the Chiefs.
- 4:55Speaker 3: I get it. Someone's got to go down to number three.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Apologies to the Eagles, Chiefs and other teams at the top.
- 5:01Speaker 5: The Dolphins were just that good.
- 5:03Speaker 4: However, Kansas City obviously he made right against the Bears, right.
- 5:06Speaker 4: I mean, they took their frustrations out from the early
- 5:09Speaker 4: season on them. It was a great day to be
- 5:10Speaker 4: against City Chiefs fan. Defensively, guys like Trent mcdovey and
- 5:14Speaker 4: Chris Jones came up big.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Offense started a little slowly, but no worries. Obviously. They
- 5:19Speaker 5: poured it on and like any good wing man, Andrew.
- 5:21Speaker 4: We see Patrick Mahomes hooking his boy up getting Kelsey
- 5:24Speaker 4: the touchdown in the third quarter.
- 5:26Speaker 5: That was tremendous, made for great TV. The kids loved it.
- 5:30Speaker 5: They stuck with it even though it was a blowout.
- 5:32Speaker 5: And look, I get it. They whipped on a team
- 5:34Speaker 5: that had a miserable week last week.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And then again you look at the next two games
- 5:39Speaker 4: on their schedule and those teams have castles that are
- 5:41Speaker 4: crumbling too. See what I did there? Andrews did about
- 5:44Speaker 4: a Swift song every now and then.
- 5:46Speaker 3: So you did, did you see? And I didn't notice
- 5:48Speaker 3: it at the time. We just showed it. When Kelsey
- 5:51Speaker 3: came out of the tunnel, he did the Archer. Did
- 5:54Speaker 3: you see that?
- 5:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yep, see, I didn't realize that at the time.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I mean, that is Brandon Cook's thing. He is the Archer.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And when Taylor Swift came to La years ago, like
- 6:05Speaker 2: they did a whole Brandon Cook's like archer Instagram thing.
- 6:09Speaker 3: The Rams did.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Like the marketing possibilities for this are just endless amazing.
- 6:16Speaker 5: I had it explained to me.
- 6:17Speaker 4: That's why I know about it, just so everyone knows
- 6:19Speaker 4: I am uncool. But you know, I did have someone
- 6:21Speaker 4: tell me what that meant.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So we should also point out that the whole Taylor
- 6:25Speaker 2: Swift thing really, you know, it just makes us avoid
- 6:28Speaker 2: the fact that the Chiefs two offensive tackle positions are
- 6:32Speaker 2: still a mess, but they found a way to win
- 6:34Speaker 2: without them. They are number three, down one. The Eagles
- 6:38Speaker 2: are down one somehow to number four. Let's do Future
- 6:41Speaker 2: Champions presented by Fan Duel. Eagles won on Monday and
- 6:45Speaker 2: either one of only three remaining undefeated teams in the
- 6:47Speaker 2: National Football League. They are still the favorite in the
- 6:51Speaker 2: NFC East. And look, I said this to our friend
- 6:54Speaker 2: Steve why John Game Day Final and NFL Network after
- 6:57Speaker 2: the Eagles beat the Buccaneers in a score of GOAMBI,
- 7:01Speaker 2: We've never seen that before twenty five to eleven. Eric
- 7:05Speaker 2: is that I feel like everyone's nitpicking them.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Who cares? They won?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yes, Hurts turned it over twice. We don't expect to
- 7:12Speaker 2: see that, but they limited the Bucks to three second
- 7:16Speaker 2: half drives. Like Nick Sirianni almost had to defend the
- 7:19Speaker 2: fact that in the second half.
- 7:21Speaker 3: All they did was run the ball. If you can't
- 7:23Speaker 3: stop it, then keep running it.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I think we would have had a different reaction
- 7:29Speaker 4: had some of those field goals been touchdowns.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Right, they did bog down a little bit. Credit to
- 7:33Speaker 5: the Bucks played pretty.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Good red zone defense, but yeah, I do feel like
- 7:37Speaker 4: there is a little bit of piling on at this
- 7:38Speaker 4: point in nitpicking. And you know, look, we complained about
- 7:42Speaker 4: the you know, Hurts and aj Brown not being on
- 7:45Speaker 4: the same page.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Last week. They figured that out, right.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I understand the red zone offense is kind of the
- 7:50Speaker 4: you know, concerned dujure, but let's understand that it really
- 7:54Speaker 4: hasn't been the problem. It was six for eight before
- 7:56Speaker 4: that game, so you know, they're doing good things.
- 7:59Speaker 5: It's starting to come together. It's hard to complain.
- 8:02Speaker 4: And guess what that defensive line that everybody raved about
- 8:04Speaker 4: on August last year, they put it in a twenty
- 8:07Speaker 4: twenty two type performance. I thought up front, I mean,
- 8:10Speaker 4: Jalen Carter's the real deal and he's playing twenty five
- 8:13Speaker 4: snaps a game. They have the horses to just throw
- 8:15Speaker 4: waves at you. That's what makes them good, and that's
- 8:17Speaker 4: what puts some so high on this list.
- 8:19Speaker 2: The two best defensive tackles in the NFL when it
- 8:22Speaker 2: comes to pressures overall pressures through three weeks, Aaron Donald
- 8:27Speaker 2: and Jalen Carter, the second of whom is a rookie
- 8:32Speaker 2: who did force a fumble, knocking the ball out of
- 8:34Speaker 2: Rashad White's hands on Monday Night, one of the two
- 8:37Speaker 2: Buccaneers turnovers. They had not turned the ball over in
- 8:40Speaker 2: their first two games. It's interesting for me this week
- 8:42Speaker 2: the Eagles get the Commanders. It is a short week.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Washington was embarrassed Sunday by Buffalo. However, it was Ron Rivera,
- 8:50Speaker 2: who I believe ran the ball eighty five times last year,
- 8:53Speaker 2: to hand the Eagles in primetime their first loss of
- 8:56Speaker 2: the year after opening the season eight to zero. All right,
- 9:01Speaker 2: let's get to the Cowboys, America's team. I gave you
- 9:05Speaker 2: last week, Eric because you didn't have them number one.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I tweeted.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It was all ingest that you hate America and you
- 9:11Speaker 2: hate America's team because you didn't have the Cowboys number one.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Now they are six, they are down only two. Explain
- 9:19Speaker 2: to me how they drop only two when they go
- 9:23Speaker 2: on the road as a double digit favorite to the team.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Last week you had as the worst team in organized
- 9:31Speaker 2: football and lose by double digits.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Are we gonna do this every week?
- 9:36Speaker 4: You're just gonna take the Cowboys and scrutinize every position
- 9:39Speaker 4: I take on them.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And I don't know, I like the Cowboys, but you
- 9:42Speaker 2: do realize because you do watch the screaming head shows
- 9:44Speaker 2: right that that night, like you know, the old like
- 9:48Speaker 2: local news thing. If it bleeds, it leads, if it's
- 9:50Speaker 2: the Cowboys, it leads all twelve months of the.
- 9:53Speaker 5: Year, especially after that game.
- 9:55Speaker 4: I mean, it was everything pointed towards them winning that
- 9:57Speaker 4: game and winning a hand only obviously, but a lot
- 10:00Speaker 4: of people I don't think watched how good the Cardinals
- 10:02Speaker 4: could be, and they threw a Reid option at the
- 10:04Speaker 4: at the Cowboy that they didn't.
- 10:05Speaker 5: Know what to do with.
- 10:06Speaker 4: Josh Dobbs was giving them all kinds of problems, not
- 10:08Speaker 4: just running it, throwing it too. If this defense wants
- 10:12Speaker 4: to be known as one of the best units in
- 10:14Speaker 4: recent years, which is what the talk was after two weeks,
- 10:17Speaker 4: it can't let things like this happen. I understand Trayvon
- 10:20Speaker 4: Diggs got hurt and is out for the season. He
- 10:23Speaker 4: was not the reason they lost, right, I think only
- 10:25Speaker 4: Stefan Gilmour and a couple of guys really sort of
- 10:27Speaker 4: showed up for that game. The secondary is a mess,
- 10:29Speaker 4: the assignment football upfront was a mess. And look, I mean,
- 10:33Speaker 4: you could say the offense struggled because they missed three
- 10:35Speaker 4: offensive linemen, but you know, twelve flagstone against him in
- 10:39Speaker 4: the first halfhandrews.
- 10:40Speaker 5: I mean, that's that's ridiculous, you know. I just I
- 10:43Speaker 5: think they're discipline coming into that game.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Spoke of a team that thought they were gonna win
- 10:47Speaker 4: and didn't, and this should serve as a pretty good
- 10:49Speaker 4: reminder they got work to do.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Yeah, funny, funny how offenses stall when you miss three
- 10:56Speaker 2: offensive lineman. Now that said, Rondelle Moore is still running okay,
- 11:01Speaker 2: and Josh Dobbs is still throwing two wide open rookies
- 11:04Speaker 2: thirty yards downfield, So those issues weren't affected, you would
- 11:09Speaker 2: have to say, by the three missing offensive linemen. I
- 11:13Speaker 2: think the screaming head shows and of course this show,
- 11:15Speaker 2: which is the only show you should watch, I think
- 11:18Speaker 2: we have something to talk about next week when Bill
- 11:21Speaker 2: Belichick's defense goes in there and makes this game Sunday
- 11:25Speaker 2: at four to twenty five Eastern Time, far closer than
- 11:30Speaker 2: anyone thought it would be. So the Cowboys are six,
- 11:34Speaker 2: the Lions are seven. They moved up one big win
- 11:36Speaker 2: over the Falcons what we thought was the game of
- 11:38Speaker 2: the week but turned out to be kind of a snoozer.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Jared Gobb work on the celebration. And then you have
- 11:42Speaker 2: the Baltimore Ravens who were down one. They lost in
- 11:44Speaker 2: overtime to the Indianapolis Colt. We both agree it should
- 11:46Speaker 2: have been pass interference and the raven should have kept
- 11:49Speaker 2: the ball in overtime. That aside, I think it's amazing
- 11:52Speaker 2: that they're even in these games.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Can see half of their starters.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Are out, I mean their left tackle, their center, their
- 12:00Speaker 2: number one corner, their number one safety, their top two
- 12:03Speaker 2: running backs, and they're number one wide.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Receiver Eric and yet they were still expected to win
- 12:09Speaker 4: this game, and still had ample chances to do so.
- 12:12Speaker 4: But you know, Lamar loses a fumble in the first half,
- 12:15Speaker 4: Kenyan Drake loses a bad one, doesn't see the guy
- 12:17Speaker 4: coming behind him. You know, so many plays you'd want back.
- 12:20Speaker 4: Gardner Minshew fumbles at the ball, rolls around for about
- 12:23Speaker 4: seven seconds. They can't get their hands on it. You know,
- 12:25Speaker 4: there were just so many plays like that, and the
- 12:27Speaker 4: fair catch on the free kick after the safety right
- 12:30Speaker 4: at the end of regulation. You know, John Harbaugh is
- 12:32Speaker 4: known for extremely well coached teams, prepared teams. They looked
- 12:36Speaker 4: a little caught off guard there. The special teams went
- 12:38Speaker 4: in the favor of the Colts. So this is a tough.
- 12:40Speaker 5: One for me.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I didn't know whether I should really penalize them and
- 12:43Speaker 4: drop him much farther or think this was sort of
- 12:46Speaker 4: a one week blip. I suspect with the injuries, it
- 12:48Speaker 4: tends towards the ladder because last week the offense did
- 12:51Speaker 4: look like it was making some strides here. I don't know,
- 12:54Speaker 4: you tell me where does this team belong?
- 12:56Speaker 2: The thing with the fair catch there, it was a
- 13:00Speaker 2: fascinating explanation. I don't know if if it's an excuse,
- 13:03Speaker 2: it's an explaination for Harbaugh. He said that before the
- 13:07Speaker 2: play they thought they were under two minutes and then
- 13:10Speaker 2: the scoreboard clock operator changed it to more than two
- 13:15Speaker 2: minutes remaining, which makes sense that you might be confused,
- 13:19Speaker 2: But at the same time, wouldn't you know whether or
- 13:21Speaker 2: not they had called the two minute warning like it's
- 13:24Speaker 2: a TV timeout, like you know, whether or not we
- 13:27Speaker 2: had the two minute warning. I know this, and you
- 13:29Speaker 2: asked me where I think they should be. I think
- 13:31Speaker 2: they're a little bit lower here. But I always think
- 13:34Speaker 2: he's the best head coach in the NFL at any
- 13:36Speaker 2: given moment because he fights through these injuries.
- 13:38Speaker 3: I know this.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The game coming up in Cleveland on Sunday between the
- 13:42Speaker 2: Ravels and the Browns is musty TV.
- 13:45Speaker 3: And look what we did there?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Where are the Browns and the new Power rankings coming
- 13:48Speaker 2: up next on the NFL Power Ranking Show presented by Energizer,
- 13:51Speaker 2: The best defense in football gets that team where.
- 13:56Speaker 3: We'll tell you.
- 13:57Speaker 2: But wait, there's Mueller. We showed you the top eight
- 14:00Speaker 2: nine through sixteen. Now the NFL Power Rankings presented by Energizer.
- 14:04Speaker 2: The clean Brown's up four after holding the Titans to
- 14:07Speaker 2: under one hundred yards of offense. Green Bay is up
- 14:10Speaker 2: eight to ten, followed by Cincinnati, Seattle Jacksonville, which is
- 14:15Speaker 2: down four to thirteen. The Saints are down four to fourteen,
- 14:18Speaker 2: and then you have the Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 14:21Speaker 2: My name is Andrews Siciliano. Eric ed Holm is with us.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Let's get to the Cleveland Browns. The three best defensive
- 14:27Speaker 2: performances by any team in any game this year are
- 14:31Speaker 2: the Browns in weeks one, two, and three.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Eric, That's absurd, legit, absolutely legit.
- 14:38Speaker 4: You know there was some question maybe after Week one, Okay,
- 14:41Speaker 4: how good is this team?
- 14:41Speaker 5: How much are they really improved on that side of
- 14:43Speaker 5: the ball.
- 14:44Speaker 4: I think we've seen enough evidence to this point to
- 14:46Speaker 4: say they targeted certain positions this offseason and made sure
- 14:50Speaker 4: we are not going to have a problem in defensive
- 14:51Speaker 4: tackle this year. We're not going to have a problem
- 14:53Speaker 4: linebacker in the addition of Jim Schwartz obviously bringing back
- 14:57Speaker 4: the wide nine rusher one of my all time favorites,
- 14:59Speaker 4: Miles Garrett was unbelievable Sunday, But it was a full
- 15:02Speaker 4: team effort. And oh, by the way, I mean, Deshaun
- 15:05Speaker 4: Watson probably played his best game as a Brown.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Still not perfect, still got work to do there too,
- 15:09Speaker 5: but hard.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Not to like how they responded after the tough losses
- 15:13Speaker 4: to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and you know they're trending up,
- 15:16Speaker 4: no doubt about it.
- 15:17Speaker 2: He absolutely played his best game as a Brown at
- 15:20Speaker 2: sosolutely and guess what, Miles Garrett on one of his
- 15:24Speaker 2: sacks in the fourth quarter on Ryan Tannehill was clearly
- 15:26Speaker 2: held by Andre Dillard, who he terrorized the entire game
- 15:29Speaker 2: in the end zone. Should have been a safety. Tandel
- 15:33Speaker 2: got out of the end zone, he sacked him on
- 15:35Speaker 2: the two. Garrett had three and a half sacks. And
- 15:38Speaker 2: again it's the Browns and the Ravens coming up this
- 15:42Speaker 2: Sunday in Cleveland. The Browns are nine, the Packers are ten.
- 15:47Speaker 2: After rallying from down double digits in the fourth quarter,
- 15:52Speaker 2: they are making power moves here presented to you by Energizer.
- 15:57Speaker 2: They are up eight. Eric, That is huge. They are
- 16:00Speaker 2: a top ten team now in your eyes.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Yeah, for a team that was railing for three quarters. Right,
- 16:05Speaker 4: I understand the optics here. It's a little bit surprised
- 16:08Speaker 4: and they move up this much. Maybe I underrated him
- 16:10Speaker 4: a little bit last week or penalized him too much
- 16:13Speaker 4: for losing in Atlanta, the game where Jordan Love had
- 16:15Speaker 4: the opportunity to sort of make a start of a
- 16:18Speaker 4: legend for himself.
- 16:19Speaker 5: It didn't happen there, but it happened Sunday.
- 16:21Speaker 4: I thought he was tremendous, right, even with some misthrows,
- 16:24Speaker 4: some drop throws, you know, the offensive penalties, right, he
- 16:28Speaker 4: used his legs, he threw the ball vertically through it
- 16:31Speaker 4: with touch, really trusted guys like Dobbs in the end
- 16:35Speaker 4: zone there and read after a couple of misconnections.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Just high level stuff, right.
- 16:40Speaker 4: This is what he's been learning since, you know, subbing
- 16:43Speaker 4: behind Aaron Rodgers, only getting the one start. He's put
- 16:46Speaker 4: in the time and it's starting to pay off now.
- 16:47Speaker 4: But for Shan Gary too, coming off the ACL really
- 16:51Speaker 4: hadn't used them much the first couple of weeks. He
- 16:53Speaker 4: got in there, got his three sacks. It was really
- 16:55Speaker 4: emotional after the game. This team has something special going on,
- 16:59Speaker 4: even if they were help by you know, the Saints
- 17:01Speaker 4: quarterback getting hurt and a little bit of you know,
- 17:03Speaker 4: a little bit of luck there.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Yeah, the luck the missed field goal there at the
- 17:07Speaker 2: end where Jameis Winston off the bench for the injured
- 17:11Speaker 2: Derek car And by the way, I think the Saints
- 17:12Speaker 2: win this game if Car doesn't get hurt. Okay, but
- 17:15Speaker 2: Jamis Winston put them in position at the end to
- 17:19Speaker 2: steal that victory and get out of Green Bay at
- 17:23Speaker 2: three and zero. It didn't happen. Now, the Saints get
- 17:25Speaker 2: the Bucks. Maybe we have Jamis against his old team
- 17:29Speaker 2: this week, and the Packers are at home on TNF
- 17:32Speaker 2: against the Lions, the team that for all intents and
- 17:35Speaker 2: purposes knocked them out of the postseason. And Aaron Rodgers'
- 17:40Speaker 2: career ended in Green Bay Week eighteen last year, so
- 17:44Speaker 2: that one should be fun. The Jaguars, meantime, are look
- 17:47Speaker 2: at the screen number thirteen. They are down four if
- 17:50Speaker 2: they're losing at home to C. J. Stroud and the Texans.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Now the Jaguars go to London, you still have them though,
- 17:58Speaker 2: beneath the make the playoff bar here, Eric.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, this is a Jaguar team that's obviously
- 18:05Speaker 4: in a division with a lot of questions right now.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Maybe the Colts and Texans are better. We certainly don't
- 18:10Speaker 4: know exactly how it's gonna all go out, but this
- 18:12Speaker 4: is the team you figure should win it, not lose
- 18:14Speaker 4: it home to a team like the Texans in rebuild mode.
- 18:17Speaker 4: So special teams, breakdowns, third down offense, a secondary that
- 18:22Speaker 4: was under siege. I mean, they have issues in all
- 18:24Speaker 4: three phases right now. Arguably even if it's only one game.
- 18:28Speaker 4: The third down stuff has been lingering all season long.
- 18:30Speaker 4: I'm sorry, but with Trevor Lawrence, etn Ridley, Evan Ingram Kirk,
- 18:35Speaker 4: all these guys, they should be not be having these issues.
- 18:39Speaker 4: I just think that's going to be the focus of
- 18:40Speaker 4: practice this week is, Hey, if we're going to go
- 18:42Speaker 4: over to London and try to put on a show,
- 18:44Speaker 4: let's do so with the scoring opportunities right in front
- 18:47Speaker 4: of us, and let's capitalize.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Not sub thirty percent. That's not playoff quality right there.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Jaguars actually doing two games back to back weeks in London,
- 18:55Speaker 2: a London residency, if you will. They get the Bills
- 18:58Speaker 2: in week five before coming back home. Trevor Lawrence, if
- 19:02Speaker 2: you listen to the PFF, guys has had more quote
- 19:04Speaker 2: unquote big time throws dropped than any other quarterback. He
- 19:09Speaker 2: actually is playing well, but they got to score more
- 19:11Speaker 2: points here. It hasn't happened. And Doug Peterson says, yes,
- 19:14Speaker 2: maybe they are feeling the pressure of offseason expectations. They
- 19:18Speaker 2: are number thirteen. Let's look at the Chargers here, they
- 19:22Speaker 2: are number fifteen. They are up one after surviving a
- 19:27Speaker 2: nail bier in Minnesota. I'm telling you and Eric and
- 19:30Speaker 2: you're not talking about this off the air after Brandon
- 19:33Speaker 2: Staley went for it inside his own twenty five and
- 19:35Speaker 2: didn't get it right. The Chargers only survived because Kirk
- 19:40Speaker 2: Cousins didn't think a spike in the football and because TJ.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Hopkinson could not hang on to this when Cousins hit
- 19:45Speaker 2: him in the chest.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it felt like.
- 19:48Speaker 4: They had four passes clang off receivers hands in the
- 19:51Speaker 4: last two minutes. It was absolutely insane. Now, the risk itself,
- 19:54Speaker 4: some people are gonna love it. They're gonna say this
- 19:56Speaker 4: is modern football, this is analytics. They say you should
- 19:59Speaker 4: go for it. And other people are gonna say, what do
- 20:00Speaker 4: you think even if you are up four and they
- 20:03Speaker 4: don't have any timeouts? Way, I guess you'd say the
- 20:06Speaker 4: defense bailed them out. Look, the bottom line is that
- 20:09Speaker 4: they have a special combo with Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen,
- 20:12Speaker 4: and everyone's begging them not.
- 20:13Speaker 5: To screw this up. We want to see this team
- 20:16Speaker 5: have their moment in the sun.
- 20:17Speaker 4: They've got the talent, but obviously they put themselves in
- 20:20Speaker 4: these sort of unbinding situations where you know, they don't
- 20:24Speaker 4: know what to do. They don't know how to win
- 20:25Speaker 4: games most of the time, and in this case, let's
- 20:28Speaker 4: face it, they got a little lucky because of what
- 20:30Speaker 4: you said Minnesota's breakdown. So yeah, I mean it's hard
- 20:33Speaker 4: to even celebrate this win. You've got the questioning of
- 20:36Speaker 4: the of the play call. You've also got Mike Williams
- 20:38Speaker 4: going down with an ACL injury. So even in a
- 20:41Speaker 4: good news week, bad news.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah, he is out for the year and the Chargers
- 20:45Speaker 2: now come home to get the Raiders. Jimmy Garoppolo's status
- 20:48Speaker 2: up in the air for that game. Listen, if TJ.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Hockinson holds onto that ball, we're sitting here. We're sitting
- 20:55Speaker 2: here wondering when is Kellen Moore named head coach. I'm
- 20:58Speaker 2: being serious, and I like Brandon Staley, I truly truly do.
- 21:01Speaker 2: But the Vikings were in position to win that game
- 21:04Speaker 2: because he went forward on the twenty four yard line
- 21:06Speaker 2: and they didn't get it. They got lucky and they survived,
- 21:11Speaker 2: all right. Comeing up, I mentioned I think the Patriots
- 21:14Speaker 2: get the Cowboys a game coming up this Sunday in Dallas.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Where are the Patriots after surviving a Hail Mary at MetLife?
- 21:21Speaker 2: That's coming up on the NFL Power Ranking show.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Bruise Eni Energizer.
- 21:25Speaker 2: You're watching the NFL Power Ranking show for head of
- 21:27Speaker 2: I Energizer. Let's get some more numbers on the screen. Falcons, Patriots, Jets,
- 21:32Speaker 2: Buccaneers seventeen through twenty, with the Patriots moving up seven.
- 21:37Speaker 2: After that, tennessee Washington, Houston and the Rams of Los Angeles.
- 21:43Speaker 2: How about those New England Patriots, the second biggest mover here, Eric,
- 21:47Speaker 2: They're up seven.
- 21:49Speaker 5: This deserves a little bit of an astross.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I had my drawthers, I leave like five or six
- 21:54Speaker 4: places plank and then put them below that. But editors
- 21:57Speaker 4: tell me I can't do that. They move up because
- 21:59Speaker 4: a lot of teams move down. But give them credit.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I mean Ezekiel Elliott coming into this, this big game
- 22:03Speaker 4: next weekend is has sort of been a big piece
- 22:05Speaker 4: of what they're doing offensively. I just don't think they
- 22:08Speaker 4: trust their deep passing game right now. Unfortunately, that leaves
- 22:12Speaker 4: them with such a small margin of air. Andrew, the
- 22:14Speaker 4: special teams have to be great. The defense has to
- 22:17Speaker 4: do its job like it did on Sunday. So their
- 22:20Speaker 4: formula for winning is basically that every single time outs,
- 22:24Speaker 4: which makes me very nervous about him.
- 22:26Speaker 5: But they win the game.
- 22:27Speaker 4: They've been competitive in all three could be three and
- 22:29Speaker 4: oh technically that's why they sit at eighteen.
- 22:32Speaker 5: Kind of reluctantly, I would.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Say, yeah, Randall Cobb almost caught that hell Mary, although
- 22:36Speaker 2: I think there was a hand on his back. I
- 22:37Speaker 2: think he would have been down with a one yard line.
- 22:39Speaker 2: The Texans are tied to the biggest move. Houston goes
- 22:42Speaker 2: into Jacksonville beats the Jaguars. They are up eight to
- 22:46Speaker 2: twenty three.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Eric three phase victory. Unbelievable.
- 22:50Speaker 2: C J.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Stroud looked like he was in command, like we saw
- 22:53Speaker 4: from him most of the time at Ohio State. That
- 22:55Speaker 4: was the biggest development. Tanked Dell the rookie receiver. Those
- 22:58Speaker 4: two have found a terrific connection together. And look give
- 23:01Speaker 4: credit to the defense too and Lake Cashman coming up
- 23:04Speaker 4: with some big plays.
- 23:05Speaker 5: The special teams.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Blockfield goal and a full back returning a kickoff for
- 23:10Speaker 4: a touchdown.
- 23:11Speaker 5: They were prepared. They came in and there and they
- 23:13Speaker 5: took him to the woodshed. Give him to tat tip.
- 23:14Speaker 4: This is a great job so far by Demiko Ryans,
- 23:17Speaker 4: even if this is their first win.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Yeah. The CJ.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Stroud pre draft slander in retrospect now looks kind of
- 23:23Speaker 2: silly and hats off to Andrew Beck the best up
- 23:26Speaker 2: back return for a touchdown ever in NFL kickoff history,
- 23:31Speaker 2: all one hundred and four years. All right, let's get
- 23:33Speaker 2: some more numbers on the screen. Here, twenty five on
- 23:35Speaker 2: down the Arizona Cardinals in Minnesota, Vikings, the Raiders, the Colts,
- 23:38Speaker 2: and the Giants are twenty five through twenty nine. The Panthers,
- 23:42Speaker 2: the Broncos, and yes, the Bears are thirty through thirty two.
- 23:46Speaker 2: The Cardinals up seven after punching the Dallas Cowboys eric
- 23:52Speaker 2: in the mouth.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Yeah, unbelievable stuff.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Jonathan Gannon has had his team prepared every single week.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Let's give him credit for that. And Drew Petsig is
- 24:01Speaker 4: probably one of the least known offensive coordinators in this league.
- 24:04Speaker 4: But his creativity, his play designs, what he's doing with
- 24:07Speaker 4: Joshua Dobbs, I give him a ton of credit for that. Competitive, tough, smart, prepared.
- 24:13Speaker 4: What else do you want? This isn't a very talented team,
- 24:15Speaker 4: but they're executing at a very high level. That's why
- 24:17Speaker 4: I bump them up.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Yeah. I love the Cardinals, I truly do. I love
- 24:21Speaker 2: the way they're playing. They go to San Francisco this week.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I fear it could get ugly, but whatever, they will
- 24:26Speaker 2: always have their win over the Cowboys. And then you
- 24:28Speaker 2: have the Bears, you know, the team of the planes
- 24:31Speaker 2: in your backyard as the worst team in football.
- 24:34Speaker 3: We all agree they.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Are ston They are soon to star in that brand
- 24:38Speaker 2: new show Worst Week ever.
- 24:41Speaker 5: This is going to be a good week for US.
- 24:42Speaker 5: Week four.
- 24:42Speaker 2: For Eric at home, I'm Andrew Siciliano. This is the
- 24:45Speaker 2: NFL Power Ranking Show. Everyone enjoy the.
