Delaware’s New Underwater City | Dover News

Delaware just sank a 180-foot retired oilfield boat, the Calcasieu Pass, to become the centerpiece of its new artificial reef system—situated smack in the middle of Del-Jersey-Land Reef, east of Bethany Beach. Once a menhaden fishing vessel for over three decades, this ’82-built ship is now transforming into an underwater ecosystem, hosting mussels, barnacles, and corals that will feed marine life and boost diving and fishing opportunities.
