- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: What's up friends?
- 0:06Speaker 3: Well, today we have a very special episode of the
- 0:09Speaker 3: Almost Famous podcast. We're gonna be breaking down episode three
- 0:12Speaker 3: of gen season. Obviously, as we mentioned last week, Ashley
- 0:16Speaker 3: is not with us because well she's becoming a mom
- 0:18Speaker 3: of two, and so we have a very special guest host,
- 0:22Speaker 3: Rachel will be joining us. But before we bring Rachel in,
- 0:26Speaker 3: I just wanted to take a second, you know, almost
- 0:29Speaker 3: famous to almost famous, to talk about this wild thing
- 0:34Speaker 3: that the Bachelor did. Prepping for tonight's episode. They posted
- 0:38Speaker 3: this on the Bachelorette Abc Instagram. Now it's just a
- 0:44Speaker 3: black screen with these words on it, and I'll read
- 0:47Speaker 3: them to.
- 0:47Speaker 2: You, says.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Tonight's episode of The Bachelorette contains images of a graphic nature,
- 0:53Speaker 3: including scantily clad men thrusting and gy rating. If you
- 0:58Speaker 3: have a weak heart or raging libido, viewer discretion is advised. Now,
- 1:10Speaker 3: I sometimes a'm all. Oftentimes I'm very confused that what
- 1:13Speaker 3: the show is doing and why they're doing what they're doing.
- 1:16Speaker 3: This is one of those moments for me. I'm reading
- 1:18Speaker 3: the comments below this Instagram post, and one of the
- 1:22Speaker 3: comments says, this is gross. It's not cool when you
- 1:25Speaker 3: objectify the women, but it's also not cool to do
- 1:27Speaker 3: it to the men. Maybe the talent show can be
- 1:30Speaker 3: like cooking or fixing a toilet or finding things at
- 1:33Speaker 3: the grocery store. Somebody else says, I'm choosing to believe
- 1:37Speaker 3: this was posted solely for Yoseph if you remember the
- 1:40Speaker 3: Josef reference, because he said he wouldn't do some things
- 1:43Speaker 3: because his daughter's watching. And finally, another comment says, sorry,
- 1:48Speaker 3: but nothing about these.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Men is steamy.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I wish they had picked better options for Jen. Well,
- 1:52Speaker 3: no matter who they picked for Jen, ABC is telling
- 1:55Speaker 3: us that tonight's episode is going to be a little weird,
- 1:58Speaker 3: a little awkward. Post makes it more awkward. They could
- 2:02Speaker 3: have just said viewer discretion advised. I think that was
- 2:05Speaker 3: actually very fair. This is this, this whole date feels
- 2:08Speaker 3: like it should have a viewer discretion advisory to it.
- 2:11Speaker 3: But the way they did it on their Instagram and
- 2:13Speaker 3: saying if you, you know, have a raging libido or
- 2:17Speaker 3: you have a weak heart, come on, that just just
- 2:19Speaker 3: makes things weird. Well, hey, anyways, let's jump into the
- 2:22Speaker 3: episode breakdown. We'll talk more about this day. Trust me,
- 2:26Speaker 3: there's really no viewer discretion advisory on this podcast because
- 2:30Speaker 3: it's just our voices, no pictures included. So Rachel, as promised,
- 2:35Speaker 3: is joining us the Bachelor out of all Bachelor, It's Rachel,
- 2:38Speaker 3: Welcome to the Almost Famous podcast.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Thank you for having me.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Ben so excited to be here and so excited for Ashley.
- 2:46Speaker 5: I cannot wait for Dawson to get a little brother.
- 2:50Speaker 2: It's gonna be It's like a big deal.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I just texted her and said, I'm thinking about you
- 2:55Speaker 3: today and I have been because here's what's crazy to me,
- 2:59Speaker 3: and I'll i'll say it to her face when she's back,
- 3:02Speaker 3: and I meant to say it to her last week
- 3:05Speaker 3: when she you know, the first time she was pregnant,
- 3:08Speaker 3: she was stressed out. There's a lot of anxiety. She's
- 3:10Speaker 3: feeling terrible. She's really nervous. I'm telling you, like, for
- 3:14Speaker 3: this second pregnancy, you would never have known she was
- 3:17Speaker 3: pregnant unless you were around her. She was so chill,
- 3:21Speaker 3: so like felt pretty good. Kind of just rolled into
- 3:24Speaker 3: today like yeah, I'm gonna have a baby today. We're
- 3:25Speaker 3: gonna figure out.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It makes it.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I love it.
- 3:27Speaker 3: It gives me some confidence for my future hopefully when
- 3:29Speaker 3: kids come into play that you know, the first is
- 3:33Speaker 3: like the craziest thing ever.
- 3:34Speaker 2: In the second you're like, I can do this. This
- 3:35Speaker 2: is easy, not mean.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Now I forgot that.
- 3:38Speaker 5: She was like do all of a sudden, they were like, Rachel,
- 3:41Speaker 5: can you feel And I'm like, oh my gosh, she's
- 3:43Speaker 5: having a baby.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:44Speaker 5: It feels like it just happened crazy. It's so exciting.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Well, I'm really pumped that you're here with us. It
- 3:51Speaker 3: is a gift to always talk to you, to catch
- 3:53Speaker 3: up with you. For anybody listening wondering what has been
- 3:57Speaker 3: going on in your world. Any updates that you would
- 4:01Speaker 3: want to share with our listening audience.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Not too many updates, but I have had a lot
- 4:06Speaker 5: of time to catch up on reality TV. I've been
- 4:09Speaker 5: sick for the past two months. We're recovering, so hopefully
- 4:14Speaker 5: getting over that soon. But super super excited to get
- 4:18Speaker 5: into this. I took some notes. I'm actually really excited
- 4:21Speaker 5: for us to talk about this together. Yeah, we've both
- 4:24Speaker 5: been on both sides, so I'm excited to see This
- 4:28Speaker 5: season has been really interesting to me. I really like
- 4:30Speaker 5: jenn as a lead, but the guys have.
- 4:33Speaker 6: Been really interesting as well, So I'm excited to see
- 4:35Speaker 6: your take.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Let's dive in, but let's start here then. I'm hoping
- 4:39Speaker 3: you're with us for a few episodes. I mean, Ashley,
- 4:42Speaker 3: I always love having her here, but there's a few
- 4:44Speaker 3: episodes that I just am really excited to have you
- 4:46Speaker 3: with the almost famous good almost good advice is what
- 4:50Speaker 3: we call it. That would be a segment I'd be
- 4:52Speaker 3: really excited to hear your advice on obviously breaking down
- 4:55Speaker 3: the Bachelorette, some the headlines that are going to be
- 4:58Speaker 3: coming out here in the next week. So you will
- 5:01Speaker 3: be with us for as long as Ashley is out,
- 5:03Speaker 3: and we just don't know how long that's gonna be yet.
- 5:06Speaker 3: But to get us started with it comes to this
- 5:09Speaker 3: week's episode. Leading up to this is episode three. What
- 5:15Speaker 3: has been your overall opinions so far, So let's start
- 5:19Speaker 3: with Jin. What are your opinions on Jin as the
- 5:22Speaker 3: bachelorette up to this point.
- 5:25Speaker 5: I was really really excited when she got announced.
- 5:29Speaker 6: I was there. I think she is.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Such a fun lead.
- 5:33Speaker 5: I think she doesn't take things too seriously, but you
- 5:36Speaker 5: could tell she's really there and really wanting to make
- 5:39Speaker 5: a connection. But watching her, It's just been really really interesting.
- 5:43Speaker 5: I feel like she's different than a lot of leads
- 5:45Speaker 5: we've had.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Recently, and what way, I don't know.
- 5:48Speaker 5: She just feels like she brings this like youthfulness, this
- 5:51Speaker 5: like fun. It's like when you're watching her, it's not
- 5:55Speaker 5: like taken super super seriously, but in a good way.
- 6:00Speaker 6: Do you feel the same.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I do.
- 6:01Speaker 3: She's like a mix between Jojo, who also tried to
- 6:05Speaker 3: have as much fun with it as possible.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I remember an interview.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Where she said this was so much fun, and I
- 6:10Speaker 3: was like, you're crazy. This was never fun to me,
- 6:13Speaker 3: and she's like it was fun. You just got to
- 6:14Speaker 3: allowed to be fun.
- 6:15Speaker 4: I can't really.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, I did not enjoy this.
- 6:18Speaker 3: She's a mix between Jojo, I think, and a little
- 6:22Speaker 3: bit of like a Caitlin, where I think actually she
- 6:26Speaker 3: has a little bit more of like a.
- 6:29Speaker 2: A wild side than what maybe we're able to see.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Like she create is down for adventure, she's down to
- 6:35Speaker 3: make these guys maybe a little uncomfortable, which Caitlyn was
- 6:38Speaker 3: always down for, yeah, push.
- 6:39Speaker 2: The limits a little bit. And so I do think
- 6:42Speaker 2: she's a mix of those two in my at least
- 6:44Speaker 2: from my perspective.
- 6:46Speaker 5: I do see Caitlyn now that you said that, and
- 6:49Speaker 5: then tonight like she was really spicy tonight, Like I
- 6:52Speaker 5: guess this is the first episode I watched her like
- 6:55Speaker 5: have that switch, like flip and she freaks out and
- 6:59Speaker 5: just a little bit like she should. But I was like,
- 7:01Speaker 5: I didn't know she had that side of hers. So
- 7:03Speaker 5: I was like, I liked it when I saw it
- 7:05Speaker 5: tonight she kind of put them in their place.
- 7:07Speaker 6: We'll get into that.
- 7:08Speaker 3: She definitely Okay, now we'll turn to this point the season.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Your thoughts on the guys so.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Being so, I'm gonna be honest, you should be.
- 7:17Speaker 5: The first two episodes, I was like, I don't have
- 7:20Speaker 5: a single guy here that I like. I was like
- 7:23Speaker 5: on the fence a little bit with a couple, but
- 7:26Speaker 5: I was like, these guys are so lackluster to me.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Third episode, I'm seeing it a little more and I like,
- 7:33Speaker 5: I'm on board now and I see some guys that
- 7:36Speaker 5: I really really like now and then still some guys
- 7:39Speaker 5: that I hate but not I hate, dislike.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Wouldn't be into.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Okay, So if you were the Bachelor at this point,
- 7:47Speaker 3: if you're a gin, are you saying you like them?
- 7:50Speaker 3: In terms of, hey, they're better than the rest or
- 7:52Speaker 3: if I was the Bachelor, this would these would be
- 7:54Speaker 3: guys I would actually be into, like interested in.
- 7:57Speaker 5: I think by episode three there are guys that I'm
- 8:02Speaker 5: seeing that I really liked the qualities and I could
- 8:06Speaker 5: definitely see myself dating, Whereas like two episodes ago, I
- 8:09Speaker 5: was like, where did they find these guys? Like this
- 8:12Speaker 5: is like going so bad, this is like who's she
- 8:15Speaker 5: going to pick? But we're getting to know them a
- 8:17Speaker 5: little more. I'm getting a little more comfortable.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I still would not claim that this cast of guys
- 8:25Speaker 3: blows my mind. I think Jin has been fantastic. I
- 8:29Speaker 3: think she is great. I think a lot of these
- 8:32Speaker 3: guys to me, are a little hard to watch at times.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I think, little cringe, a little cringe. They're kind of
- 8:40Speaker 3: just like a little awkward, which can be, you know,
- 8:44Speaker 3: endearing at some level, but at the same time, it
- 8:48Speaker 3: can also be kind of a turn off. And and
- 8:51Speaker 3: so we'll have to see how that kind of plays
- 8:52Speaker 3: out and if these guys ever get comfortable in their
- 8:54Speaker 3: own skin. But there are a few that I still
- 8:57Speaker 3: don't know enough about. I'm thinking Jonathan, I'm thinking Marcus,
- 9:02Speaker 3: I think it's Dylan is his name?
- 9:06Speaker 6: Those are my favorite so far.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I think those three still have potential to be like, Okay,
- 9:12Speaker 3: you got your three out of the thirty and that's
- 9:14Speaker 3: about what happens every season, and that's all you needed.
- 9:18Speaker 3: It just happened to be that the other supporting cast
- 9:22Speaker 3: was so off that these three never really shine because
- 9:24Speaker 3: they all kind of get mixed together. So those three
- 9:27Speaker 3: are standing out to me right now.
- 9:29Speaker 6: I think Grant could be up there too.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 3: He I'm having a hard time with Grant because he
- 9:37Speaker 3: and sam M were so similar on Night one, with
- 9:41Speaker 3: like the words they were saying and the way they
- 9:42Speaker 3: were talking to her and kind of her connection to
- 9:45Speaker 3: them that I think I'm still kind of grouping them
- 9:47Speaker 3: together as like the same, you know, type of personality.
- 9:52Speaker 3: I want to see Grant like take his guard down
- 9:54Speaker 3: a little bit and just like be an actual human
- 9:56Speaker 3: and like not try to say the right lines at
- 9:58Speaker 3: the right time and the right way, and then I
- 10:01Speaker 3: think he could jump there. He hasn't anything wrong yet.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I just haven't seen him actually like converse more than
- 10:07Speaker 3: I haven't seen Samm converse. He just says all these
- 10:09Speaker 3: like really like sexual things and she's into it right now,
- 10:14Speaker 3: I don't think.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Yeah, he's I don't know how to feel, Okay.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Sam and Sam m is the first impression Rose.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Yes, he reminds me so much of Johnny from our season,
- 10:28Speaker 5: the way he acts and the way he talks. I
- 10:30Speaker 5: literally told Johnny and like, he's your evil twins. So
- 10:34Speaker 5: every time I see him on screen, I just can't
- 10:36Speaker 5: think about anything else.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a good mix. Astley calls him sham Booth
- 10:40Speaker 3: look alike.
- 10:40Speaker 6: He looks like Sean too.
- 10:43Speaker 2: He might look like everybody.
- 10:44Speaker 5: He's like in the AI generated one Bachelor contestant.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Well, yeah, the men are in Melbourne with Jim Ben Melton.
- 10:54Speaker 3: How are they say in it Melbyn Melboyn? Is that
- 10:59Speaker 3: the proper to say? Is that why this has been
- 11:01Speaker 3: such an emphasis.
- 11:02Speaker 6: I think that's how the Australians with the accent.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah, Melbourne, Melboyn, Milbourne. They're in Melbourne, Australia. Here in
- 11:11Speaker 3: Indiana and Denver we call it Melbourne. Also, the group
- 11:17Speaker 3: is going to be here for a little bit longer
- 11:19Speaker 3: than expected. They're going to be there for a few weeks.
- 11:20Speaker 3: They're excited about this. I mean, they're not in a mansion.
- 11:23Speaker 3: They're in a brand new place, a brand new country,
- 11:26Speaker 3: doing incredible things. We kick this episode off kind of
- 11:31Speaker 3: reliving the drama that existed lap last episode. We're kind
- 11:36Speaker 3: of now moving it into this episode as well. Rachel,
- 11:39Speaker 3: take it away from here. I want to hear your thoughts.
- 11:41Speaker 3: You do have your notes, and your opinions are going
- 11:43Speaker 3: to be so warranted and listened to by me, because
- 11:48Speaker 3: I know you have strong opinions on this.
- 11:50Speaker 5: I do so my first little note I just wrote,
- 11:55Speaker 5: Thomas and Devon are giving me the ck hmmm. I
- 12:00Speaker 5: last episode was not a fan of either of them,
- 12:03Speaker 5: but I think there's something about Devon that really throws
- 12:07Speaker 5: up red flag to me because he reminds me a
- 12:09Speaker 5: lot of Tino and this like winner mindset and this
- 12:15Speaker 5: that's my wife, Like this is week two you're telling
- 12:17Speaker 5: other guys like it just is giving the same sort
- 12:21Speaker 5: of vibe for me. So I think that's where I
- 12:23Speaker 5: was coming from, And just this sense of confidence that
- 12:27Speaker 5: he's throwing around. I feel like that's what's really getting
- 12:30Speaker 5: under the guy's skin. But I think at this point
- 12:33Speaker 5: I'm over both Thomas and Devin a little bit.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Well, how are you feeling.
- 12:39Speaker 2: The Devin thing's interesting.
- 12:40Speaker 3: I am actually I think Devin took a step forward
- 12:46Speaker 3: for me this week more than last week. I don't
- 12:51Speaker 3: think he's the right one for Jin. I also don't
- 12:54Speaker 3: think he is the easiest dude to get along with
- 12:58Speaker 3: because of how vocal he is, because of how much
- 13:01Speaker 3: confidence he kind of wants to portray and kind of communicate.
- 13:08Speaker 3: But last week he was more annoying to me, Like
- 13:10Speaker 3: there was moments where I was like devn back down,
- 13:13Speaker 3: like what are you doing? This is crazy, Like you're
- 13:15Speaker 3: going way too hard, way too fast.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Now.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Thomas last week kind of stepped in out of nowhere
- 13:20Speaker 3: into the controversy. He stepped into the drama and it
- 13:25Speaker 3: kind of came out of nowhere really at the end.
- 13:27Speaker 3: If you remember when Jen is kind of at the
- 13:29Speaker 3: cocktail party and all of a sudden, Thomas comes up
- 13:31Speaker 3: and starts talking to Devin, and then all of a sudden,
- 13:33Speaker 3: we see Thomas as this character who is going to
- 13:36Speaker 3: confront But it wasn't like a confrontation that was necessary
- 13:40Speaker 3: or I felt like appropriate at that time. Here's why
- 13:45Speaker 3: I think things are getting crazy from me. Usually on
- 13:46Speaker 3: The Bachelor and Bachelorette, when there's controversy like this, I
- 13:52Speaker 3: don't want to look at the one off scenario because
- 13:53Speaker 3: we don't always see what's going on behind the scenes.
- 13:55Speaker 3: I want to look at the entirety of the storyline.
- 13:58Speaker 3: And so right now, I will say, if I had
- 14:00Speaker 3: to pick a side, I'm on Devin's side, because Thomas
- 14:02Speaker 3: continues to be this character to other people as well,
- 14:08Speaker 3: Like he's not just doing this with Devon, as you
- 14:10Speaker 3: see in the preview for the rest next couple episodes,
- 14:13Speaker 3: as you kind of see through a little bit of this,
- 14:15Speaker 3: he is continuing to get himself into the drama, and
- 14:19Speaker 3: so I have to think that maybe Devin isn't the
- 14:21Speaker 3: one at fault here, or he isn't the problem.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I completely agree.
- 14:27Speaker 6: I think Thomas is a bit of a bully.
- 14:30Speaker 5: I think the way he was treating Sam this episode,
- 14:34Speaker 5: I really, like you said, Devin did actually step up
- 14:37Speaker 5: a little bit this episode when he was standing up
- 14:39Speaker 5: for Sam.
- 14:40Speaker 6: Was it Sam?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Sam?
- 14:42Speaker 6: And Sam ed yeah, and I was like, he really
- 14:47Speaker 6: stood up for him, and he was like, You're allowed
- 14:48Speaker 6: to have those feelings.
- 14:49Speaker 4: So that was really nice for me.
- 14:52Speaker 5: But I also just feel like with Devin, I guess
- 14:56Speaker 5: going in from last row ceremony. You can kind of
- 14:59Speaker 5: tell the other guys don't really like him. So that's
- 15:01Speaker 5: where it gives me pause. Whereas, Yeah, I feel like
- 15:04Speaker 5: Thomas is definitely the issue, and he was the issue
- 15:07Speaker 5: in that argument. I look around to the guys and
- 15:10Speaker 5: why do they all kind of not like Devin? That
- 15:12Speaker 5: says something to me. I want the guy I end
- 15:14Speaker 5: up with to like get along with people.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but that feels like something that would be important.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I wonder, Rachel, if Devin and Thomas are both gonna
- 15:27Speaker 3: be those characters that play such a huge storyline these
- 15:30Speaker 3: first like five weeks, and then we just forget about them,
- 15:33Speaker 3: Like we never hear from him again, we never think
- 15:36Speaker 3: about him. They don't play any part of the story
- 15:39Speaker 3: long term, and they're here right now because one Thomas.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Is just seems like easily irritated.
- 15:48Speaker 3: And Devin is so confident that he's rubbing everybody the
- 15:52Speaker 3: wrong way.
- 15:52Speaker 2: It's going to fire up the group.
- 15:54Speaker 3: And then they're both gonna be gone probably the same week,
- 15:56Speaker 3: and it's kind of like we moved on never thinking
- 15:58Speaker 3: about it.
- 15:59Speaker 6: That's true.
- 16:00Speaker 5: I could see them both kind of leaving mid season. Yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 5: I don't solid before hometowns.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Yeah, like they're gone and they make some uproar at
- 16:10Speaker 3: the tell All Live show and we.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Talked about their place on the beach.
- 16:15Speaker 2: That's right, because it's coming.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't wait.
- 16:29Speaker 3: So then we get into one on one Gin and Spencer, Spencer, Spencer,
- 16:36Speaker 3: Spencer's Spencer's a tough one. I think Spencer is a
- 16:38Speaker 3: super nice guy too.
- 16:41Speaker 5: I wrote down Clark Kent. He's just so sweet. He
- 16:45Speaker 5: has the little glasses. I think Jen Cupp referring to
- 16:48Speaker 5: him like golden Retriever energy.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Is that what you want in a husband? Though?
- 16:53Speaker 3: Does Golden retrie If if you're a girl explaining a
- 16:55Speaker 3: guy as a Golden Retriever, are you like actually into him?
- 16:57Speaker 3: Are you just saying he's a fine?
- 16:59Speaker 6: Hang?
- 17:00Speaker 5: This is where I had some thought because then everyone
- 17:04Speaker 5: in this season they keep bringing up ferocious love.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I want ferocious love.
- 17:09Speaker 5: But when she's describing Spencer, it's giving safety.
- 17:14Speaker 4: It's giving like safe choice.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Even though he's great and it seems like they're having
- 17:21Speaker 5: a great time, I don't see that same spark that
- 17:25Speaker 5: I do when she's talking to let's say, like Sam
- 17:29Speaker 5: m or Devin, where you can like see it.
- 17:33Speaker 3: What did you think, well, I think Spencer is probably
- 17:37Speaker 3: that golden retriever. I'm guessing he is a very nice guy.
- 17:39Speaker 3: He seems like a very nice guy. He was so
- 17:42Speaker 3: excited to go on this day, so excited. It was
- 17:45Speaker 3: very very cute just how excited he got. I do
- 17:51Speaker 3: feel like he is is more nerdy than probably we
- 17:57Speaker 3: even see right now, Like he has some of those
- 17:59Speaker 3: like reaction actions to his excitement, and even when they're
- 18:02Speaker 3: in like the the helicopter, it doesn't necessarily exude to
- 18:08Speaker 3: me like sexiness.
- 18:12Speaker 4: But he's cute.
- 18:13Speaker 2: But he's cute.
- 18:14Speaker 3: So here's my point. I'm not saying any of that
- 18:17Speaker 3: saying it's a bad thing. I'm saying some people are
- 18:19Speaker 3: really into that, Like I love you know, they love
- 18:22Speaker 3: the nerd, They love the nice guy, the guy that
- 18:24Speaker 3: they know is always just going to be so excited
- 18:26Speaker 3: when your husband and wife and the and the wife
- 18:29Speaker 3: comes home and says I want to go on a
- 18:30Speaker 3: date with you to night, and he.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Goes, yay, Yes, that's awesome. Like some people like that.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Now, some people very much not attracted to it, or
- 18:38Speaker 3: they don't get attracted to it until later on in
- 18:40Speaker 3: life when they realize those are the guys that you
- 18:42Speaker 3: want to marry, and so I don't know about him yet.
- 18:46Speaker 3: With her, I didn't. I didn't leave this date feeling
- 18:50Speaker 3: like the two of them or like an automatic lock long.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Term, but I don't.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I didn't also leave the date being like that guy
- 18:58Speaker 3: has so like so many problems, like he is not
- 19:01Speaker 3: going to be here very long, Like I could see
- 19:03Speaker 3: him being here for a while, I just don't think
- 19:04Speaker 3: he's the one.
- 19:06Speaker 5: I think she kind of just sees him as like
- 19:09Speaker 5: the safe bet, like, oh, he could be, you know,
- 19:12Speaker 5: someone I bring home to meet my parents if I
- 19:15Speaker 5: don't really have a connection with anyone else. It kind
- 19:17Speaker 5: of feels like she'll keep him around until she starts
- 19:20Speaker 5: developing stronger connections, like if he didn't get a rose
- 19:24Speaker 5: on this one. And I honestly wouldn't have been that shocked,
- 19:27Speaker 5: because I mean I didn't see her connecting with him.
- 19:30Speaker 5: I know he told the story about his ex fiance
- 19:33Speaker 5: and the cheating, so obviously it wouldn't have been the
- 19:36Speaker 5: right time probably for her to be like, oh, and
- 19:38Speaker 5: by the way, I don't see anything with us, Like
- 19:40Speaker 5: you said, I didn't really see it.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Yeah, he's nice, though.
- 19:44Speaker 2: He's a nice guy. I'm with you.
- 19:47Speaker 3: I think that might be the best way to summarize
- 19:48Speaker 3: this one on one is I don't see it yet.
- 19:50Speaker 2: It didn't convince me of anything. It kind of honestly
- 19:55Speaker 2: reminded me.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Of a Zach date was it with you that season
- 20:02Speaker 3: when you guys he kind of has the same energy,
- 20:04Speaker 3: same kind of vibe.
- 20:06Speaker 2: I remember what the.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Two of you went and watched, like at a movie theater,
- 20:09Speaker 3: You're the story playback of life, and it was very cute,
- 20:14Speaker 3: it was very nice. It was like, this is a
- 20:17Speaker 3: good moment, But it wasn't the moment that solidified in
- 20:22Speaker 3: my mind that yes, this is going to be the
- 20:23Speaker 3: guy with her at the end.
- 20:25Speaker 5: And I feel like jenn is just going to be
- 20:28Speaker 5: looking for someone that like matches that level that she's on. Yeah,
- 20:32Speaker 5: and I don't think it's going to be Spencer, No.
- 20:36Speaker 5: I think she's going to pick someone exciting and like
- 20:40Speaker 5: the ferocious love or she keeps talking about that and
- 20:43Speaker 5: the Golden Retriever energy.
- 20:44Speaker 6: I don't know if that is good.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Like you said, well, I'm going to compare it in
- 20:50Speaker 2: a bit.
- 20:51Speaker 3: We're going to come back to this conversation then, because
- 20:53Speaker 3: what I want to do now with what you just
- 20:54Speaker 3: said is I want to compare the Golden Retriever energy
- 20:58Speaker 3: to her scene with sam m on a couch where
- 21:02Speaker 3: he she says, you even asked me to be your
- 21:04Speaker 3: girlfriend yet, and I want to hear We're not going
- 21:06Speaker 3: to talk about it yet, but I want to hear
- 21:08Speaker 3: what you think of that moment and what was actually
- 21:10Speaker 3: going on there.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I need a girl's perspective. This would be a moment
- 21:12Speaker 2: where I.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Ask my wife or I ask one of my girlfriends, like,
- 21:15Speaker 3: what exactly was happening there, because in my mind I'm
- 21:17Speaker 3: kind of grossed out and I'm like, I don't know
- 21:20Speaker 3: why this is happening. I want to hear from a
- 21:23Speaker 3: girl's perspective what you think was happening. But before we
- 21:25Speaker 3: do that, we do have a flashback back to the
- 21:28Speaker 3: house at this moment where we still have Thomas and
- 21:31Speaker 3: we still have samm and we still have them upset.
- 21:34Speaker 3: They don't like Devin. That's now very clear to all
- 21:36Speaker 3: of us. They don't like each other, yet they cannot
- 21:38Speaker 3: settle this. Like they're very honest with each other. I
- 21:41Speaker 3: got to give them all that they're telling each other,
- 21:43Speaker 3: I don't like you, and as this person goes back
- 21:45Speaker 3: says I don't like you, and they say, great, We're
- 21:47Speaker 3: not gonna be friends right there. You think it would
- 21:49Speaker 3: end there, like as most groups of men function. If
- 21:54Speaker 3: I was in a room where two dudes are like,
- 21:55Speaker 3: I don't like you, and the other guy goes, I
- 21:57Speaker 3: don't like you either, and I don't want to really
- 21:58Speaker 3: fight you, because that doesn't really do us any good.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Here.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I just want you to know I don't like you.
- 22:02Speaker 3: I would be sitting on that and being Okay, well
- 22:04Speaker 3: this is good enough and it's over. Actually, this is
- 22:06Speaker 3: a big step. They seem to can't get it. They
- 22:09Speaker 3: cannot get over it. They continue to want to go
- 22:12Speaker 3: back to the fact that they don't like each other.
- 22:13Speaker 3: And I don't understand why.
- 22:16Speaker 5: I feel like Devin just has this like he has
- 22:21Speaker 5: to have the last word and he has.
- 22:22Speaker 4: To like get under their skin.
- 22:24Speaker 5: And it just feels like Thomas and sam em just
- 22:27Speaker 5: have like a short views and it's like every little
- 22:30Speaker 5: thing that he says is like setting them off. But yeah,
- 22:34Speaker 5: like you said, I mean, I don't know because on
- 22:36Speaker 5: our season, mean, Gabby, the guys did not fight one time.
- 22:40Speaker 5: You could not force these guys to have any sort
- 22:42Speaker 5: of disagreement, and it's like on this season it's constant,
- 22:47Speaker 5: and when is.
- 22:48Speaker 4: That like bomb going to explode?
- 22:51Speaker 5: It feels like it already did last episode, but like
- 22:53Speaker 5: you said, it just continues and it's still going.
- 22:56Speaker 3: It's constant, but yet it's still with a very small
- 22:58Speaker 3: select group of people every time, and it seems to
- 23:01Speaker 3: be happening when the whole group is in the room.
- 23:04Speaker 3: As a contestant on the show, at one point in
- 23:06Speaker 3: your life, what do you think it's like or do
- 23:09Speaker 3: you remember a scenario where it was like this where
- 23:12Speaker 3: there's something like an argument is going on, something super
- 23:15Speaker 3: awkward taking place right in front of you, and you're
- 23:18Speaker 3: a bystander, like you're just standing there watching this whole
- 23:21Speaker 3: thing go down. Over time, it's I'm assuming it's got
- 23:27Speaker 3: to get exhausting.
- 23:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean on our season head Cheney, Yeah, and
- 23:32Speaker 5: that was and that would just happen in front of
- 23:34Speaker 5: the group, and I remember I would just sit there
- 23:36Speaker 5: and I would literally just go like this, and I
- 23:38Speaker 5: would just try to fold.
- 23:40Speaker 6: So far away to not get involved.
- 23:42Speaker 5: But I knew in my mind, like having seen the show,
- 23:45Speaker 5: I'm like, Okay, well she's going home soon. Yeah, and
- 23:48Speaker 5: this is just happening for like the TV, right, Like,
- 23:51Speaker 5: she can't really be like that.
- 23:53Speaker 4: And I remember just thinking that in my mind.
- 23:55Speaker 5: But it seems like these guys genuinely have an issue
- 23:58Speaker 5: with each other, and it's not like they're doing it
- 24:01Speaker 5: just to do it for TV.
- 24:02Speaker 2: No, I don't think they're doing it.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I think they think they're in the right here, or
- 24:05Speaker 3: they've somehow have been convinced that this is a pedestal
- 24:09Speaker 3: they need they need to stand on. I remember during
- 24:13Speaker 3: the time when Caitlyn was the Bachelor. I've said this
- 24:15Speaker 3: on the podcast before, but there was a moment where
- 24:18Speaker 3: with Caitlin's season, because I think she liked to push
- 24:20Speaker 3: everybody so much and because she had a little wild
- 24:23Speaker 3: streak to her, there was a lot of drama happening.
- 24:26Speaker 3: A lot of the drama wasn't even ever shown, or
- 24:28Speaker 3: wasn't shown to the extent that it was actually happening.
- 24:30Speaker 3: It was something was happening every day, and Jared and
- 24:33Speaker 3: I were sitting on the couch one evening.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I remember I was had.
- 24:37Speaker 3: A cocktail and he had a cocktail, and for whatever reason,
- 24:39Speaker 3: we're like in our relaxing clothes kind of just chilling
- 24:41Speaker 3: talking to each other about sports, and all of a sudden,
- 24:44Speaker 3: like a fight breaks out right in front of us
- 24:46Speaker 3: in the main living room of the mansion. And I
- 24:49Speaker 3: remember Jared and I looked at you her like, isn't
- 24:51Speaker 3: this the craziest thing? Like nobody is going to believe
- 24:53Speaker 3: that this is real, really happening, Like they gonna they're
- 24:56Speaker 3: all gonna think it's scripted when they watch us. We
- 24:57Speaker 3: get a front row seat at this madness, and so
- 25:02Speaker 3: we started to like watch it as entertainment. It started
- 25:06Speaker 3: to become almost enjoyable to.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Us to be like, who's gonna yell at each other tonight?
- 25:12Speaker 2: Why are they going to be upset?
- 25:15Speaker 3: But I'm thinking a lot of these guys are kind
- 25:17Speaker 3: of taking that perspective. It's just like standing back being like,
- 25:19Speaker 3: this is so stupid. I can't wait to you know,
- 25:22Speaker 3: these dufass leave. Yeah, the problem is I don't think
- 25:26Speaker 3: some of them will be leaving for a while.
- 25:29Speaker 5: Oh, absolutely not. And thank God for us so we
- 25:32Speaker 5: can continue to watch it.
- 25:33Speaker 2: That's right. Well, speaking of wanting to continue to watch the.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Group date, the first group date of this episode is well,
- 25:43Speaker 3: it's still in Australia and it's being held and led
- 25:48Speaker 3: by some male professional strippers. The whole date is kind
- 25:53Speaker 3: of talking about this career and then teaching some of
- 25:57Speaker 3: these guys their moves, and then the guys guys are
- 26:00Speaker 3: then told that they are going to perform in front
- 26:02Speaker 3: of a live audience including the bachelorettes from Australia and
- 26:07Speaker 3: their bachelorette gin. These guys are going to perform, and
- 26:12Speaker 3: the date kicks off, and that's really I mean, this
- 26:14Speaker 3: is a big group date, a lot of guys there,
- 26:16Speaker 3: and there's a lot of let's call it art to
- 26:20Speaker 3: be performed. I'll start here and say this. During when
- 26:26Speaker 3: I was the Bachelor, we were in Vegas and there
- 26:28Speaker 3: was a date that was planned where the women were
- 26:31Speaker 3: going to do something similar like this was like a
- 26:33Speaker 3: very similar setup, and I said no, like I won't
- 26:36Speaker 3: I won't go.
- 26:37Speaker 2: They can go and do it and have fun.
- 26:39Speaker 3: With it and have a I will not be doing this,
- 26:42Speaker 3: like I will not be sitting there and one asking
- 26:45Speaker 3: them to do this. Also, I won't be I don't
- 26:50Speaker 3: want to be a part of that publicly. I don't
- 26:52Speaker 3: want everybody in the world to watch that. So your
- 26:54Speaker 3: opinion on this date, now, you can disagree with me,
- 26:57Speaker 3: that's great. I would love for it. I just know
- 26:58Speaker 3: I couldn't do it, Like for me, it didn't feel
- 27:01Speaker 3: right for me.
- 27:02Speaker 5: I mean, as like a woman, I probably wouldn't have
- 27:07Speaker 5: done it wouldn't have been comfortable. But on my season,
- 27:11Speaker 5: we actually had something exactly the same. Basically, we had
- 27:15Speaker 5: like a talent show on a rainy day at the
- 27:18Speaker 5: mansion and they all like were wearing speedos so and
- 27:22Speaker 5: then they had to do a talent in their speedo
- 27:24Speaker 5: so basically the same thing.
- 27:27Speaker 4: I like the day. I thought a lot of them
- 27:29Speaker 4: got into it.
- 27:30Speaker 5: You could tell they were really uncomfortable, but some of
- 27:34Speaker 5: them just like really stood out and they really tried
- 27:36Speaker 5: their best. Like I loved Jonathan's he had like Jen's
- 27:40Speaker 5: name on his like, but I thought it was cute.
- 27:43Speaker 4: And there was Australian Rachel and Gabby there.
- 27:46Speaker 7: Yeah you're right, Yes, I loved it, and I loved
- 27:53Speaker 7: the part I wrote down well.
- 27:56Speaker 5: I wrote Gabby because I called the girl Gabby with
- 27:58Speaker 5: the brown hair. She was given Jen advice about sam
- 28:02Speaker 5: m which I thought was interesting going into what happens
- 28:06Speaker 5: later in the Rose ceremony with that whole couch situation
- 28:10Speaker 5: where Jen was like, there's just so much sexual tension
- 28:13Speaker 5: and she was like, be careful because I picked mine and.
- 28:16Speaker 6: It didn't end up well.
- 28:18Speaker 2: I think it's nice.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Yeah, is there foreshadowing here, like what's going on? I
- 28:23Speaker 5: thought that was really interesting.
- 28:26Speaker 3: The date itself. I will say, the guys on this day,
- 28:31Speaker 3: they showed up for it, and I have to respect
- 28:34Speaker 3: him for that. I appreciate it and I respect him
- 28:37Speaker 3: because they gave it their all and they didn't make
- 28:39Speaker 3: it awkward.
- 28:40Speaker 2: I think if you're.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Going to be in this situation, you just got to
- 28:45Speaker 3: leave it on the dance floor, like go for it
- 28:48Speaker 3: and see and let it happen. I think the guys
- 28:50Speaker 3: did the one though. Obviously the storyline of this episode
- 28:54Speaker 3: is Sam in what we referred to him as the
- 28:56Speaker 3: love Virgin, because that's what he said he was. He's
- 28:59Speaker 3: very nervous, and you know what, I don't want to
- 29:02Speaker 3: shame him for that. I don't want to shame him
- 29:04Speaker 3: for not wanting to do you know this, If you
- 29:08Speaker 3: don't want to, I think you have every right to
- 29:10Speaker 3: just say, hey, not my thing. If you want my
- 29:13Speaker 3: personality to shine, well, this is one way that you're
- 29:15Speaker 3: going to see it doesn't in this environment. I think
- 29:19Speaker 3: he could have said that and maybe pulled her aside
- 29:21Speaker 3: and just been like, hey, I'm uncomfortable doing this on
- 29:24Speaker 3: national television in front of my grandma and my parents
- 29:26Speaker 3: and my sisters and everybody else.
- 29:28Speaker 2: And it was a lead.
- 29:29Speaker 3: I think you and I both could agree typically if
- 29:31Speaker 3: that would happen to be like I get it, like,
- 29:33Speaker 3: don't do it then absolutely totally cool, like I not
- 29:36Speaker 3: my like I'm not going to force you to do this.
- 29:38Speaker 2: I think that was that would have been the good route.
- 29:42Speaker 3: I think the route he took was super awkward, super awkward,
- 29:47Speaker 3: and I think he even felt awkward about it afterwards.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I don't know how or who told him that was
- 29:53Speaker 3: a good idea.
- 29:55Speaker 5: I wrote this same thing down, I wrote who told
- 29:58Speaker 5: him to throw that hail Mary? Because, like you said,
- 30:01Speaker 5: it's not about actually getting out there and stripping. Jen
- 30:06Speaker 5: just wants to see like their personality and see him
- 30:08Speaker 5: have fun. I think he could have taken it so
- 30:11Speaker 5: many different ways, or even just said hey, like he
- 30:14Speaker 5: ran out there and pulled her backstage for a minute
- 30:16Speaker 5: and they had like a little something set up backstage,
- 30:19Speaker 5: Like there's so many things that you could.
- 30:20Speaker 6: Do, and it just felt very forced.
- 30:24Speaker 5: Even if that is how he feels, and of course
- 30:27Speaker 5: I respect that if it is the way he did it,
- 30:30Speaker 5: I just think made everyone really uncomfortable and therefore it
- 30:35Speaker 5: wasn't the right way to go about it.
- 30:37Speaker 6: Well.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I don't think Jen was sitting there being like, Wow,
- 30:40Speaker 3: look how sweet this is. More this is you know,
- 30:44Speaker 3: kind of the unspoken rule I think is those moments,
- 30:48Speaker 3: especially when you first tell your girlfriend that you're falling
- 30:51Speaker 3: in love with her, probably should be done one on one,
- 30:54Speaker 3: like you should probably not do it in a public
- 30:56Speaker 3: setting where you're one hundred feet from them over a microphone.
- 31:00Speaker 3: You could probably just say, hey, I'm having these feelings
- 31:02Speaker 3: towards you. Also, I do think there are some options
- 31:04Speaker 3: for sam In to participate and maybe not take off
- 31:08Speaker 3: a single piece of clothing. He could have made that
- 31:09Speaker 3: really funny. He could have made, you know, a little
- 31:13Speaker 3: dance while he keeps on his whole astronaut suit and
- 31:16Speaker 3: nobody knows what's underneath and it's hilarious.
- 31:19Speaker 2: He could have done a couple of different things. I
- 31:20Speaker 2: think his route did uh.
- 31:23Speaker 3: It did highlight I think that he has maybe a
- 31:27Speaker 3: little bit of that golden retriever energy as well.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Just a little bit unexperienced.
- 31:34Speaker 3: He's just not experienced obviously when it comes to dating. Well,
- 31:39Speaker 3: some of the guys, you know, take a fence to it.
- 31:41Speaker 3: I don't know how you take a fence to Sam.
- 31:43Speaker 3: And it feels like at this point, like if somebody
- 31:45Speaker 3: does that in front of everybody, you're like, hey, this
- 31:49Speaker 3: this poor guy, like just like let him kind of
- 31:52Speaker 3: like blow this thing up on his own. He's not
- 31:55Speaker 3: he's not going to crush it here, and that's totally
- 31:56Speaker 3: cool with me. But some guys do get.
- 32:00Speaker 6: Upset going into the nighttime portion though.
- 32:04Speaker 2: M hm.
- 32:05Speaker 5: We see Thomas and Sam m literally bullying him. Yeah,
- 32:10Speaker 5: just so openly right by the bar where everyone's like
- 32:13Speaker 5: going up to get drinks.
- 32:15Speaker 6: I do not understand this, Like what is their issue?
- 32:21Speaker 4: Like first it's Devin.
- 32:21Speaker 6: Now they're having an issue with Sam, And.
- 32:24Speaker 3: You're kind of picking on on the weakest person right now,
- 32:27Speaker 3: Like it's very obvious that that dude did not think
- 32:30Speaker 3: what he did was awesome. It's not like he's exuded
- 32:33Speaker 3: confidence from any moment of stepping within this show, so
- 32:38Speaker 3: why pick on him? Like it does feel like bully
- 32:41Speaker 3: like behavior where you say weakest length, I'll go after him.
- 32:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree, And that's where I wrote, Devin actually
- 32:49Speaker 5: really did come across from me way better in this
- 32:54Speaker 5: situation because he really was standing up for him, and like,
- 32:58Speaker 5: I love that. I thought that was so and I
- 33:00Speaker 5: thought Jen handled it really well when she did talk
- 33:03Speaker 5: to him. But this whole Thomas and sam n situation, it's.
- 33:08Speaker 3: It's weird, it's weird, it's weird. But Devin did step up.
- 33:13Speaker 3: I do think Devon did something courageous there. Now, I
- 33:17Speaker 3: don't think he's handling this whole situation well. I think
- 33:20Speaker 3: he's definitely not not at fault for the chaos and
- 33:24Speaker 3: the frustrations that others have towards him. But I do
- 33:27Speaker 3: like that he stepped up for sam In when sam
- 33:31Speaker 3: In really maybe wasn't aware, or wasn't in the place,
- 33:35Speaker 3: or wasn't he was lacking the confidence at the time
- 33:38Speaker 3: to step up for himself. It's not fun on this
- 33:41Speaker 3: show to see somebody just kind of get beat down
- 33:45Speaker 3: by the bros. And it felt like a moment where
- 33:47Speaker 3: he was going to get beat down by the bros.
- 33:48Speaker 3: And I don't like that ever. On the show, it's
- 33:51Speaker 3: not fun to watch it's and it's not a good look,
- 33:53Speaker 3: you know, for the two of them. Well, that's when
- 33:57Speaker 3: we find out that well, Sam m and Thomas definitely
- 34:01Speaker 3: don't like Devin. That's fine, that clears that up. I
- 34:05Speaker 3: hope we don't have to watch this three of them
- 34:06Speaker 3: bicker for the next two weeks. I hope some of
- 34:09Speaker 3: them start going home here very soon.
- 34:11Speaker 4: Yeah, please, God, we.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Do have somebody going home kind of shockingly on his own,
- 34:27Speaker 3: and that's Aaron. Aaron is Noah's brother. Aaron was gonna
- 34:31Speaker 3: be He was a big storyline going into the show
- 34:33Speaker 3: because he is Noah's brother, and Noah made such a
- 34:36Speaker 3: name for himself during this show and obviously is in
- 34:39Speaker 3: a relationship. From the show, Aaron gets a phone call
- 34:42Speaker 3: and I get it. I think we saw the same
- 34:45Speaker 3: thing with Joan, who's now our Golden Bachelorette last season.
- 34:47Speaker 3: When life calls and you have a dream in place,
- 34:51Speaker 3: I think you have to take it, especially at this
- 34:54Speaker 3: point in the experience. I don't know anybody anybody can
- 34:56Speaker 3: get that upset with him for doing what he did.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Greed completely, Like I'm a pilot, I would have a
- 35:04Speaker 5: thousand percent done the same thing. I agree The only
- 35:09Speaker 5: thing I really just didn't like a little bit was well,
- 35:13Speaker 5: I guess we could talk about it after like their
- 35:16Speaker 5: group date, but he was kind of like, well, if
- 35:18Speaker 5: she doesn't give me this rose, then.
- 35:20Speaker 6: I'm leaving, But if she gives me this rose, then
- 35:22Speaker 6: I'm staying.
- 35:22Speaker 5: And it just kind of felt like a little weird
- 35:25Speaker 5: that he was basing his decision on this rose.
- 35:29Speaker 3: I don't think he actually was. It's a very early
- 35:32Speaker 3: rose to be giving so much up for agreed, I
- 35:38Speaker 3: think any good advisement, and I do believe the producers
- 35:41Speaker 3: would probably actually have given him good advice here, because
- 35:47Speaker 3: for as much as they love to see the drama
- 35:49Speaker 3: play out, they also are like, hey, yeah, but like
- 35:51Speaker 3: I'm not, you know, and I'm still a normal human.
- 35:54Speaker 3: You should go home, like go go fly a plane
- 35:57Speaker 3: and learn this and finish this dream of years and
- 35:59Speaker 3: then who knows, maybe you can come back again on
- 36:03Speaker 3: the beach. You're in a different season. Jin was also
- 36:06Speaker 3: supportive of it the group date with him, and you
- 36:09Speaker 3: just had mentioned it. There isn't a lot for me.
- 36:11Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know if you have many notes
- 36:13Speaker 3: from that other than they you know, they raced.
- 36:17Speaker 5: Jeremy did that cute stop the car and kiss her thing?
- 36:23Speaker 5: I think Austin wins and then that's it. That's really
- 36:26Speaker 5: all I had. Yeah, it was tiny, small, short, So.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Aaron goes home.
- 36:30Speaker 3: He did leave Jin in a weird place here, and
- 36:34Speaker 3: we're getting closer and closer to the end of this
- 36:36Speaker 3: episode and it feels like it feels almost unhealthy. Unhelpful,
- 36:43Speaker 3: is what I should say for how he left it. Hey,
- 36:45Speaker 3: there's some great guys here, but there's also some really
- 36:47Speaker 3: bad guys here, So just be careful. You don't need
- 36:49Speaker 3: to say that. She knows all of that already. Don't
- 36:51Speaker 3: get in her head about this. And he wasn't willing.
- 36:54Speaker 3: If you're gonna say that, I always think on this
- 36:56Speaker 3: show you have to also be willing to give the details.
- 37:00Speaker 3: You can't just say, hey, by the way, like, do
- 37:02Speaker 3: some investigation. Good luck with that. You have twenty dudes
- 37:05Speaker 3: here to try to figure out. But some of them
- 37:07Speaker 3: aren't here really and they're not really great guys, So
- 37:10Speaker 3: best of luck.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Gen see you later. Felt frustrating.
- 37:13Speaker 3: I think it frustrated Gin, and I do like that
- 37:17Speaker 3: Jin did step up for in this moment and not
- 37:20Speaker 3: try to maybe even figure out who he was talking about,
- 37:22Speaker 3: but just tell the whole group this is what I heard,
- 37:24Speaker 3: this is what I know, and if any of you
- 37:26Speaker 3: are not here for the right reasons, you can go home.
- 37:31Speaker 3: Like that's really cool. I like, I enjoyed this moment
- 37:34Speaker 3: from Gin. I think it definitely solidified her as the
- 37:39Speaker 3: lead of this group.
- 37:42Speaker 4: I agree.
- 37:42Speaker 5: I loved seeing that side because we've seen fun Gen,
- 37:46Speaker 5: sweet Gen, but this is the first time she was
- 37:49Speaker 5: like kind of feisty and serious and really letting the
- 37:53Speaker 5: guys know that, like, yeah, we're having fun and this
- 37:55Speaker 5: is like a great time and we're all here, but
- 37:58Speaker 5: I'm here, this is my real life, and you guys
- 38:01Speaker 5: need to be serious.
- 38:02Speaker 4: And then I loved how she was like Marcus, can
- 38:04Speaker 4: we go talk?
- 38:04Speaker 5: And I was like, WHOA, but no, I loved I
- 38:07Speaker 5: loved that moment from Jen.
- 38:08Speaker 6: I think we needed to see that.
- 38:10Speaker 4: She needed it.
- 38:12Speaker 6: Get those guys in line.
- 38:13Speaker 3: They're not gonna they're not gonna mess with Jen. She's
- 38:15Speaker 3: they know that she has a force behind her and
- 38:18Speaker 3: she can't put her foot down. Well, we are closing
- 38:21Speaker 3: up this episode. We do have to summarize everything here.
- 38:28Speaker 3: When it comes to the final row ceremony, but before
- 38:31Speaker 3: we do that, kind of last thing I want to
- 38:32Speaker 3: talk to you about is any notes that you had
- 38:34Speaker 3: that you're really passionate about that we didn't you know,
- 38:36Speaker 3: talk about. And in the same breath, I do want
- 38:40Speaker 3: to hear from your perspective about the couch scene with
- 38:44Speaker 3: Sam m and what your overall thoughts were on that
- 38:48Speaker 3: whole interaction.
- 38:50Speaker 4: That was kind of just the last note I had.
- 38:53Speaker 5: I was actually like covering my eyes watching that scene.
- 38:57Speaker 5: It felt like something you're not supposed to watch coming
- 38:59Speaker 5: from me.
- 39:00Speaker 4: I used to do this.
- 39:01Speaker 5: I feel like I was the same way on the show,
- 39:03Speaker 5: so I have no legs to stand on with this.
- 39:06Speaker 5: But he was like full on straddling her. He was
- 39:09Speaker 5: straddling her and then she's like, are we dating? It
- 39:13Speaker 5: felt like, what's happening in this situation? I think maybe
- 39:18Speaker 5: from my perspective, she was just being like flirty and
- 39:22Speaker 5: they're all technically your boyfriends, right, so she's probably like,
- 39:26Speaker 5: are you going to ask me to be your girlfriend?
- 39:27Speaker 4: Just being flirty?
- 39:28Speaker 5: But I'm not seeing any substance out of this man
- 39:32Speaker 5: at all. It feels like he'll say words until he
- 39:36Speaker 5: doesn't have anything else to say, and then he's just
- 39:38Speaker 5: making out with her, Yeah, which is rich coming from me,
- 39:41Speaker 5: but I don't know it is.
- 39:44Speaker 3: It does seem to be a strategy on the show.
- 39:49Speaker 3: You can get away with that for a long time, right,
- 39:50Speaker 3: you can have that physical connection, you can make out,
- 39:54Speaker 3: you can say all the right things in those ten
- 39:57Speaker 3: minutes that you have and and it works for a
- 40:00Speaker 3: long time. I do think most seasons there is that
- 40:02Speaker 3: moment though, where you go, hey, maybe this isn't my
- 40:04Speaker 3: long term partner. It felt like very much to me
- 40:08Speaker 3: like a middle school make session.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Middle school.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Yeah, like where you're.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Like, I gotta like, I can't keep my hands off
- 40:15Speaker 3: of you, and we're fully clothed and we're gonna lay
- 40:17Speaker 3: on top of each other on a couch like.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It felt like that to me.
- 40:21Speaker 3: It did not feel at all like to adults functioning
- 40:24Speaker 3: in a like in a in this environment, it did.
- 40:27Speaker 3: It felt like something you would see from like teenagers.
- 40:33Speaker 5: I can't say anything because I feel like sometimes you
- 40:35Speaker 5: just forget those cameras are there. That's fair again, you know,
- 40:41Speaker 5: worse things have happened, not worse, just other things have happened.
- 40:45Speaker 6: I think the.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Straddling was a little strange. Her asking about are we dating? Yeah, again,
- 40:52Speaker 5: just maybe being flirty.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I think it's flirty. I think it's flirty.
- 40:56Speaker 3: I also think they're very into each other, and so
- 40:58Speaker 3: I think they wanted to say a lot of things
- 40:59Speaker 3: that were not like they weren't going to say because
- 41:01Speaker 3: they did. Remember, hey, we're miked when we have cameras around.
- 41:04Speaker 5: I think they just need to get to the fantasy
- 41:06Speaker 5: suite and that like, see where it goes from there.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:11Speaker 3: I actually think they just need to have a real
- 41:13Speaker 3: conversation and see where that happens.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Because at this point I have seen it, it looks
- 41:17Speaker 2: like they.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Get a one on one next week.
- 41:19Speaker 2: It's good.
- 41:20Speaker 6: Good.
- 41:20Speaker 3: I think we're gonna learn a lot and I hope
- 41:22Speaker 3: we do well. We do have a few people going
- 41:24Speaker 3: home this week, just a few, just two. So the
- 41:31Speaker 3: two people going home, if you have him up in
- 41:33Speaker 3: front of you, please just say names.
- 41:35Speaker 5: Hakem and Thomas A who I had to look up
- 41:38Speaker 5: his name because I don't think he's spoken this season.
- 41:41Speaker 2: You see the one with the abs like that was
- 41:43Speaker 2: the only thing I remember, frown.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Hair, it was kind of longer.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Yeah, he walked out and I think one of the
- 41:47Speaker 3: Australian bachelorettes go said, oh, look at his abs, and
- 41:50Speaker 3: that was like the only thing we've ever heard in
- 41:52Speaker 3: reference till we.
- 41:53Speaker 6: Know about him.
- 41:54Speaker 5: I did like Hakeem though, his whole Spider Australian.
- 41:59Speaker 2: It was so I wish he was around longer.
- 42:01Speaker 3: And his eyes are so expressive, like he's a fun watch.
- 42:05Speaker 3: And I do think I am surprised he went home
- 42:09Speaker 3: this early, because I do think he was a had
- 42:12Speaker 3: a main character kind of vibe about him in confidence.
- 42:15Speaker 3: But Keem goes home, Thomas In goes home, and we
- 42:18Speaker 3: move on. Now I think I'll start to know all
- 42:20Speaker 3: these guys' names. It takes me a couple weeks.
- 42:22Speaker 2: I never know their name.
- 42:22Speaker 6: Yeah, me too, Hakeem.
- 42:24Speaker 4: We'll see you on the beach.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 42:26Speaker 3: To close up this episode, Rachel, we always do it,
- 42:29Speaker 3: but we haven't done with you yet.
- 42:30Speaker 2: Your top Let's do top.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Four in order from number four to number one, Okay.
- 42:39Speaker 6: I'll do. Can I go number one down because I
- 42:42Speaker 6: forget their names?
- 42:43Speaker 2: Okay, that's fair.
- 42:44Speaker 5: Number one Jonathan, Okay, I really like him. Number two Marcus,
- 42:54Speaker 5: and then I like Dylan, yeah, and then I really
- 42:57Speaker 5: like Spencer.
- 42:58Speaker 6: So we're going to go there that.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Those four I actually if I disagree with any of those,
- 43:05Speaker 2: I think Dylan.
- 43:08Speaker 3: For me is like this, like he's been so quiet,
- 43:11Speaker 3: but yet he has such a strong presence that it's
- 43:15Speaker 3: like that guy kind of feels like one that's going
- 43:17Speaker 3: to be there a while because they're kind of not
- 43:19Speaker 3: hiding him more than just not showing him. So I
- 43:23Speaker 3: do like Dylan. I really like Jonathan. I think Marcus
- 43:26Speaker 3: would be my number three and number four. I probably
- 43:31Speaker 3: put Spencer in there as well. Yeah that makes sense
- 43:34Speaker 3: right now. I can't think of anybody I'm missing. But
- 43:40Speaker 3: it's interesting that Grant didn't make either our of our
- 43:43Speaker 3: top list or samm two people who definitely at last
- 43:47Speaker 3: week had a very high kind of presence on the show.
- 43:51Speaker 5: Yeah, Sam is not going to make my list. I
- 43:53Speaker 5: don't think Okay, I don't think he's it.
- 43:56Speaker 2: You don't think he's it?
- 43:57Speaker 3: Well that is the word for this week. Rachel doesn't
- 44:00Speaker 3: think sam m is it, and I'll agree with her.
- 44:02Speaker 2: I don't think so either.
- 44:04Speaker 3: This has been another episode of the Almost Famous podcast.
