- 0:44pandemic, which is one thing, right?
- 0:46And I was having a conversation with my girlfriend yesterday
- 0:50about loneliness or so the conversation went like this.
- 0:55I was basically sitting there talking to my, my partner about
- 0:59her talking to her friends about stuff.
- 1:00You know, she gets stressed or has issues and stuff, she talks
- 1:04to her best friend and then I was like well I don't you know
- 1:07my best friend is my cousin and I love him dearly but he's like
- 1:11we hang out. Skateboard.
- 1:12You know, we shoot the chat and that's pretty much it, you know.
- 1:16But then she was saying that, you know, she talks to her best
- 1:19friend about things that are really, you know, but maybe
- 1:23personal, you know, the things are personal and so that I
- 1:25thought something was up when I don't have anybody that I can
- 1:28talk to you about stuff that's personal right.
- 1:29Which is like crazy because I have so many acquaintances, I
- 1:33have like I don't know about 7 to 10 really good friends.
- 1:37But never once would I ever consider talking to those people
- 1:41about? Matters of personal issues that
- 1:43like my girlfriend or talks her best friends about.
- 1:45So then I started thinking to myself, like I feel really
- 1:48lonely like I feel really alone and it's not just because you
- 1:52know, we're in a group global pandemic.
- 1:53It's not just because we're not allowed to see anybody and
- 1:56anything like that. And it's more to do the fact
- 1:59that how I communicate with my friends.
- 2:01Really is a struggle to me now. Me and my friends, we talk about
- 2:05things like, you know, talk about like I don't know, I'm
- 2:07really into like craft soda pop so I took while soda pop their
- 2:10into craft beer and soda pops up.
- 2:11Kind of talk about hipster stuff like that.
- 2:14And then we talked about like memes and jokes.
- 2:16And people who live in our town, just things like that in the
- 2:18looks, just funny things that like, we laugh about.
- 2:21But then also, you know, that there's a serious side with one
- 2:25of our friends, in our, in our WhatsApp group, he had covid.
- 2:28So I was helping him out and and directing him which, you know,
- 2:31nutrients to take and things to help battle the virus, but we'd
- 2:35never get to a personal level, like, you know, you know what,
- 2:38our kids, you know, stress with our kids or stress with our Our
- 2:41partners or, you know, him and his wife have enough time or,
- 2:44you know, of me and my partner had a rough time.
- 2:46We never really talked about those lines and so I said to my
- 2:50girlfriend, I said, well, I don't have anybody, I can talk
- 2:52to and I feel really lonely and she said that maybe there's a
- 2:55possibility that I am asking too much of a friendship in my mind.
- 3:02Maybe I'm thinking, like, you know, and what I mean by this is
- 3:06because I've never said to them, hey, you know, this is a
- 3:10personal issue of mine can. You guys about it because I've
- 3:13never done that. I don't know how they'll react.
- 3:15So she thinks that maybe I'm thinking too much about it.
- 3:17Maybe she's thinking, I think that they'll ask me, you know,
- 3:21hey, what's going on your personal life before, you know,
- 3:23anything comes up like that to help me feel less alone.
- 3:26I mean, which is I know the sounds okay.
- 3:28It's a very complex issue to try and talk about.
- 3:30I'm really trying my best to relay this in the best way I
- 3:33can. Other side note guys, I just
- 3:35want you guys to know that I have launched.
- 3:37My very own autism course called inside autism or I'm taking Can
- 3:41people through different modules of how to best deal with people
- 3:44on the Spectrum. If you're a parent or caregiver
- 3:46guardian or a professional working in the field.
- 3:49And also, if you're an autistic person, you want to go deeper
- 3:53and learn more things about yourself and improve your home
- 3:55life skills. I have a course all about that
- 3:58gold inside, autism, which you can buy right now at learn
- 4:01autism dotnet. The price is 50% off to what I
- 4:04actually sell it to the government for, but as a special
- 4:07incentive for February, only you can use the actual Promo code
- 4:12Fab, 10 to get an extra 10% off. The course if you want to buy
- 4:16it, learn more about autism learning more about yourself,
- 4:18maybe it was highly recommended by my friend Ali, who is a
- 4:23doctor in and therapy for autism, and I'll insert a clip
- 4:26of her testimonial here. Hello, I'm dr.
- 4:28Ali Arena and I am a speech language.
- 4:31Pathologist, I was fortunate enough to take Dan's inside,
- 4:34autism course. And I truly think this is so
- 4:38powerful for any parent of a child on the Spectrum.
- 4:41An Don't on the Spectrum or a therapist who works with
- 4:44individuals on the Spectrum, I have been working in the field
- 4:47of autism for over 10 years. And I, you know, I think I know
- 4:50what I'm doing, right? But Dan, really broke it down in
- 4:54a way that I feel like I could even make a bigger impact with
- 4:58the people I work with, because I'm able to use his words and
- 5:02some of the examples he gave, and I'm already relating more to
- 5:05the people I work with. And so, as you can see, Ali
- 5:08really enjoyed it. So, and it's what we call us if
- 5:10you are really interested in it guys.
- 5:11Check it out, would be super dope.
- 5:13Okay? So then it got me thinking I was
- 5:14like, wow, I really don't feel comfortable talking to anybody
- 5:18about things that are personal about things in my life.
- 5:21And then I start thinking about all the years, I've had friends,
- 5:23I've never spoke to any friend about things are personal my
- 5:26life ever. And it may come from a an issue
- 5:31where autism leaves people with an issue with closeness of
- 5:36connection through communication.
- 5:39So I'm not really close to my parents and I respect my parents
- 5:41when I was Growing up about, you know, girlfriends or people I
- 5:44fancied or things like that, you know.
- 5:46And and telling my parents that we were expecting a baby was
- 5:49quite an interesting concept because I never had a closeness
- 5:52with them. So I just kind of just had some
- 5:54kind of in passing, you know. And, and it was quite difficult
- 5:57and things like that. I always find extremely
- 5:59difficult, you know, explaining to people who I love how much
- 6:03they mean to me and telling them that I love them is a difficult
- 6:05task. I find it really difficult to
- 6:10really add an object. Connect with people, talk to
- 6:12will be completely open with people about things like that.
- 6:15I found it really difficult. No, I want to do.
- 6:17Do you get this issue? I don't know.
- 6:19I wanted to this video, I know it's kind of a loose base video.
- 6:21It's a bit all over the place. I'm sorry.
- 6:23But I wanted to this video because I don't know if this is
- 6:26typical of people on the Spectrum, let me know in the
- 6:29comments down below. How you feel about this because,
- 6:31you know, I want to know. Do you feel those issues to are?
- 6:34You dealing with those as well? Like, is it something that is
- 6:37just so apparent that it causes all these issues in my life?
- 6:41Life. But the product, the outcome of
- 6:43this, if you will, is that I feel lonely, you know, and I
- 6:47feel quite isolated, I feel like I have friends, but they're more
- 6:50like acquaintances. I feel like I don't have
- 6:52anybody, who is personally invested in me, you know, like
- 6:56people who are like really invested in people because I
- 6:58feel like people are invested in their friends where they will do
- 7:01anything for them to look out for them, which is cool, which
- 7:03is awesome. And I do have friends like that,
- 7:04but people who really understand what's going on in your life is
- 7:08quite difficult to come across sometimes and this is definitely
- 7:11thing that I find really difficult to find people who
- 7:15know, you know, you inside out and do all the things that you
- 7:18may struggle with on a personal deep level I guess you guys here
- 7:21in my, you know, awesome, community on my social media are
- 7:25the closest things, I have two real good friends because I talk
- 7:27to you guys quite openly about how I feel about things, you
- 7:29know, this conversation I'm having right now, like I did a
- 7:31video talking about my childhood growing up with autism and I've
- 7:33never spoken my parents about that, you know, and I find it
- 7:35bizarre when I see people who are really comfortable explains
- 7:39their parents about stuff like, you know, say, Sex and
- 7:42relationships and things like that.
- 7:43I don't know. I just find it really bizarre
- 7:45but I want to do this video because if I don't add the fact
- 7:49that I feel lonely, then I have the potential to become more
- 7:53lonely if you know what I mean. So I feel like if you have
- 7:56something to share and you want to join in with this kind of
- 7:59like help thing of a going on and just pop in a comment.
