- 0:03It's Monday, and you know what that means. Welcome to Have Faith. Let it begin.
- 0:10Podcast of inspiration. It's a podcast of hope.
- 0:15It's a podcast of faith, and it's a podcast of friendship.
- 0:20Here is your host, Angel Santana, and special co-host, Dr. E.
- 0:26We're a three-podcast time. that's it
- 0:29man let's rock and roll in three two one hello
- 0:33everyone and welcome to have faith let it begin we are starting the
- 0:36month of december with a bang why dr e is back and we're gonna fix that intro
- 0:40he is not a special co-host he is the co-host of have faith let it begin dr
- 0:46e happy december how was turkey day oh my god i actually was a normal human
- 0:52being i didn't work I mean,
- 0:54I worked my ass off at the house, but I didn't go into work and I ate turkey
- 0:59and I ate corn and I yams and I ate cranberry sauce and I ate pecan pie and
- 1:07cherry pie and vanilla ice cream.
- 1:10And I had to, I have to tell you at the end of the meal, which was six hours,
- 1:16by the way, I was literally moaning.
- 1:18I literally could not go to bed because if I went to bed, I would probably stop breathing.
- 1:24So I had to literally sit up in a chair until all, so all the gravity of the
- 1:30food went all the way down straight South instead of going back up North.
- 1:35Well, let me tell you, we are here with a bang because after recording the episode
- 1:40that we did on your show, the Croc podcast, Citizens United to Overcome Cancer, we're piggybacking.
- 1:46I want everybody just for a second to listen to this closing remark that I made
- 1:51and then we'll Quentin Tarantino go back. Take a listen to this.
- 1:55See what I'm saying? Well, from that last part that I stated, Dr.
- 2:00E and I, we spoke about something that really hit home to him.
- 2:04And I want him to kind of give me a, just take us back a little bit.
- 2:09I don't want you to share all the stories because I want them to listen to the
- 2:12stories, but I want you to take us back because this is something that really
- 2:16resonates with every single person.
- 2:19That's what you do on the show, the Critic, the Citizens United to Overcome
- 2:23Cancer. We come together, we share these stories just like we do on Have Faith,
- 2:28but this is something that I think everybody really needs to listen to.
- 2:33And as you can hear my words at the very end that I just played for you.
- 2:37You took me to a level where I just spoke out.
- 2:41Dr. E, share with us what they just missed this week and how they can go back
- 2:47and listen to it. I will definitely let them know how. Take us back.
- 2:50Well, the first thing I'm going to say is that it is visceral to everybody.
- 2:54And, you know, Angel, it's almost as if you like basically the Holy Spirit just
- 2:59took over you because you're like four minute, you know, assessment of the podcast
- 3:05was so spot on that I had nothing left to say.
- 3:09I mean, I don't know if you're going to put the entire thing in,
- 3:13but I will say this, that I was literally without words.
- 3:16There was nothing I could do to add to the words that you mentioned.
- 3:19So let's talk a little bit about the way we talk about it, you know,
- 3:23talk to each other or talk to others about our, our friends,
- 3:27our family, our acquaintances or strangers.
- 3:31Even we as humans are very quick to judge and we're very quick to blame others
- 3:37for our own insecurities and our own inadequacies and in medicine, unfortunately.
- 3:44So if you're doing this to a neighbor, it's unfortunate because you lose friendships
- 3:48and it becomes uncomfortable.
- 3:51And, you know, it's just, you know, passing each other and looking the other
- 3:54way and all those kind of very awkward moments.
- 3:57But that's kind of where it stops and ends.
- 4:00In medicine, when physicians have to sort of let off some steam or blow off
- 4:06some steam or start, you know,
- 4:08getting rid of some of their anxieties and insecurities and by doing it,
- 4:13by blaming other physicians for either their care or their recommendations,
- 4:18they put the cancer survivor in a very, very terrible situation.
- 4:23They put them in the middle of this drama.
- 4:27And I think having cancer and being treated for cancer is stressful enough.
- 4:31And having your doctors talk trash about each other, and then you lose your
- 4:36trust, you lose your direction, you become non-compliant, your outcomes are less.
- 4:41But it is a metaphor for all of us, because what I was preaching is for physicians
- 4:47to elevate themselves to put the patient first and put themselves second.
- 4:53And, you know, there are other ways of identifying and strategizing to get,
- 4:59you know, outcomes and put everyone on the same page without involving the patient.
- 5:03But in real life, which this is our real life podcast, you know,
- 5:07I think that the same recommendation stand,
- 5:10Angel, don't you think of being mature and just thinking of how powerful your
- 5:14words are and being able to maybe sort of soften your words in order to, you know, you can get.
- 5:22You know, it's, it's better to get honey. You know, you can get more from honey
- 5:25than you can from vinegar or whatever that expression is.
- 5:28Yeah. And I think you said it perfectly. I can't add to that.
- 5:31No, I agree. And, and this is just kind of like a little bit of a teaser because
- 5:34at the end of the day, the episode that aired, I'm going to have the link in the description.
- 5:39I'm going to also, at the end of this episode, I'll put a little blurb as to
- 5:43what the name of the title is.
- 5:44Cause we have yet to actually title it right now, but when you guys hear it,
- 5:48it'll be titled that already have been aired and you'll get a chance to go right into it.
- 5:52Matter of fact, what we're going to do is breaking news right here,
- 5:55right now. This episode is going to end and I have just made an executive decision.
- 5:59We are going to air that episode right here, right now.
- 6:02We're just going to end this episode and go right into that episode because
- 6:06it's that important to me.
- 6:07And I really think it's something that we need to collaborate together.
- 6:12And then what I'd like to do is a part two of what I want.
- 6:17Have faith, let it begin. And I want the Croc Nation to send out your questions,
- 6:23send out your stories about what you got out of it and what things have happened to you.
- 6:29And the first five people that respond to these two episodes are going to receive a gift.
- 6:37And it will be autographed by Dr. E and myself for the holiday season.
- 6:43So you have to get involved because if you don't want to get involved,
- 6:46you're not going to get something special. So I'm throwing that out there.
- 6:49What do you think, Dr. E? Is that a smart way to do it? Can I also get a souvenir
- 6:54or two? You do. You have my friendship.
- 6:58I think that's wonderful. I
- 7:00think that's marvelous. Angel, lead us in prayer, my brother. Let's do it.
- 7:03Heavenly Father, we know that good teamwork means communication.
- 7:07We know that when you have teamwork, it's a group of people working side by side.
- 7:13True teamwork is when individuals bring their own struggles to the table,
- 7:19but they leave their egos at the door.
- 7:22We encourage everyone to be led to these two episodes today,
- 7:27that they feel the Holy Spirit guide them and to allow them to feel comfortable
- 7:32in sharing their stories.
- 7:34Stop worrying about who gets all the credit.
- 7:37Start focusing on what we can accomplish together. We pray this unto you in
- 7:41the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Happy December week.
- 7:45Thanksgiving is over. Let's get more food in our stomachs, but let's have a good time because, Dr.
- 7:51E, like I know that you know, that I know that we know, that you know that I
- 7:54know. You matter, my friend.
- 7:56May God be with you. God bless you, brother. Yep, and never forget,
- 8:00have faith, let it begin, baby. See you later, everyone.
