- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. One of the biggest sources of protection for
- 0:10Jeffrey Epstein was the financial sector, and the fact that
- 0:15they don't have more scrutiny is very telling. And look,
- 0:19we all know that they pay the bills. We all
- 0:21know that every politician relies on these people to get
- 0:24them into office and keep them there, and that's how
- 0:27it's always been. So if you're looking for a real boogeyman,
- 0:32then the guy we're about to talk about is certainly
- 0:34at the top of the list. Because if you're running
- 0:37JP Morgan, chances are you're involved in some shit. Now
- 0:42I'm not saying actively right, I'm not saying that Jamie
- 0:45Diamond is sitting there telling his subordinates to get into
- 0:50business with drug dealers and launderers the rest of it.
- 0:53But we'd be naive to think that those kinds of
- 0:57people weren't using the financial system to move and color
- 1:00their money, because they are. You know, when we think
- 1:03about money laundering and we think about hiding money, etc.
- 1:08We don't think about America as a destination for that,
- 1:11but it is. And the way the tax laws are structured,
- 1:15the way that they're written, it's all to benefit rich people,
- 1:20and a guy like Jamie Diamond, he certainly knows that,
- 1:23and he certainly knows more about Jeffrey Epstein than he's
- 1:26ever let on. Now the hard part's proving it. And
- 1:29when I say that, let me be clear, I don't
- 1:31mean Jamie Diamond was taking part in the abuse. I
- 1:34mean that he was an enabler, a financial enabler, and
- 1:37somebody that could have pulled the plug at any time.
- 1:40But him, Mary Urdos, Jess Staley and the rest of them, well,
- 1:45they decided to keep working with Epstein, banking Epstein and
- 1:48being friendly with them, and look to get into a
- 1:51position that Jamie Diamond's in. To be the head of
- 1:53JP Morgan, you have to be a shark, you have
- 1:57to be a killer. And when I say killer, I'm
- 2:00in the business sense, and there's no doubt that Jamie
- 2:03Diamond is all of those things. But he was also
- 2:06an adjacent to Jeffrey Epstein, and he also bears some
- 2:10responsibility in my opinion, when it comes to the financial
- 2:14portion of all of this. So today we have an
- 2:17article from The Guardian and the headline JP Morgan boss
- 2:20pressed by US senator about contact with Jeffrey Epstein. This
- 2:26article was authored by Simon Goodley. A leading Democratic senator,
- 2:31has written to the boss of JP Morgan to request
- 2:33clarification on the bank's contact with child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
- 2:38I mean, okay, a little late, but all right now,
- 2:42Elizabeth Warren is another person that I don't trust, and
- 2:46why should I. She's a one way traffic kind of person.
- 2:50She's never going to put her own people in the crosshairs.
- 2:53She's going to try and use this as a weapon.
- 2:56And look, I get it, I understand. I'm not naive.
- 3:00This is a political battlefield. But the problem is when
- 3:04people don't care about justice and only try to use
- 3:07it as a political cudgel. You could at least have
- 3:10a little bit of common courtesy and try and get
- 3:13some shit done while you're pushing your own political agendas.
- 3:18Elizabeth Warren, the top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee,
- 3:21wrote to Jamie Diamond last week to ask if he
- 3:23took advice from Epstein while lobbying against the UK tax
- 3:27on banker bonuses in a letter published by the committee
- 3:30on Monday, and look, he probably was. I'll be the
- 3:34first to tell you, I don't trust Jamie Diamond as
- 3:37far as I could throw the dude. Now, please don't
- 3:39confuse that with me thinking that Elizabeth Warren knows what
- 3:42she's doing. I don't believe that either. I feel like
- 3:46all of these people in the Senate and Congress, we're
- 3:48all there to agitate. Nobody's there to work together. Nobody's
- 3:52reaching across the aisle, nobody's trying to put bills together
- 3:55that make my life better. What they do is they fight,
- 3:59They argue, they throw red meat to the base, and
- 4:02they don't give a fuck about anything but reelection and
- 4:04real talk. Where was Elizabeth Warren when all of this
- 4:07was happening in real time? It's critical that Congress and
- 4:12the American public fully understand the extent of any interactions
- 4:15the bank and you had with Epstein. The Senator wrote, Well,
- 4:19she's not wrong about that, and while I can question
- 4:21her motivation, I think trying to get the records is
- 4:24the right move. And like I've told you, I'm going
- 4:28to ride these mforts all the way to the finish line.
- 4:32They want to have a parasitic relationship, cool, fine, But
- 4:37one thing I'll never do is trust them. One thing
- 4:40I'll never do is come on this podcast and tell you, oh,
- 4:42you should vote for this person because they're a great
- 4:44guy or a gal, because I don't believe any of
- 4:46them are great, So I would never tell you that.
- 4:51So what I try to do is look for whoever
- 4:54is going to make my life better one way or
- 4:55the other, and unfortunately it's none of these people. Diamond,
- 5:02who has been the chair and chief executive of the
- 5:04largest US bank for two decades, told a court in
- 5:07twenty twenty three that he had never met Epstein and
- 5:10had not heard the late sex offender's name until his
- 5:13twenty nineteen arrest. Oh sure, Oh I'm sure, mister Diamond,
- 5:18And I told you then probably telling us some bullshit. Well,
- 5:22wouldn't you know. But a cash of documents released by
- 5:25the US Department of Justice is here as pile pressure
- 5:28on Diamond, one of the most powerful figures on Wall Street,
- 5:32and raised fresh questions about his links with Epstein. So
- 5:36here's what you do. You get all these Wall Street
- 5:39executives and you put their pictures up on a wall
- 5:42and then throw a dart, and whichever one of the
- 5:44pictures the dart hits, you can guarantee that Jeffrey Epstein
- 5:47had some sort of business with that person. That's how
- 5:51corrupt the financial sector is, and they're the engine that
- 5:54pushed Epstein's machine up the hill. A two thousand and
- 5:58nine email emerged this year as part of the Epstein files,
- 6:01which appeared to show the disgraced financier asking the former
- 6:05Labor Minister Peter Mandelsson if Diamond should lobby the UK
- 6:09Chancellor Alistair Darling in an attempt to dissuade them from
- 6:13introducing attacks on banker bonuses. Now, let's give Jamie Diamond
- 6:18the benefit of the doubt, right, real quick, Let's say
- 6:21that what Epstein was doing was trying to use Jess
- 6:24Staley to lobby Jamie Diamond. To take this narrative, that
- 6:31could be possible, right, We have to keep that in mind.
- 6:33We know that Epstein and Jamie Diamond didn't have too
- 6:37much contact. Now we don't know the full extent, but
- 6:40they certainly weren't as close as Jess Staley and Jeffrey
- 6:43Epstein were. So could that be it possible? But does
- 6:47that get Jamie Diamond off the hook? It most certainly doesn't,
- 6:52because I have a very hard time believing that the
- 6:55guy that's running JP Morgan Chase didn't know the kind
- 6:58of serpent that they were served. Mandelsh replied that Diamond
- 7:03should mildly threaten the Chancellor, and the banker is reported
- 7:07to have subsequently spoken to Darling. Diamond allegedly pointed out
- 7:11that JP Morgan was a big UK employer and purchaser
- 7:15of government bonds and threaten to cancel investment in a
- 7:18new London headquarters. Money makes the world move. Do you
- 7:22see what's happening here? You have a bank, one of
- 7:25the biggest banks in the world, threatening a government and
- 7:29how are they doing that? Well, the bonds, We're not
- 7:32going to purchase your bonds. We're not going to invest
- 7:34in your city, we're not going to invest in your country.
- 7:38Money talks, And how do you think these people want elections?
- 7:41You think they just stroll up there and they give
- 7:44a couple of good speeches and that's it. Millions and
- 7:46millions and millions, sometimes hundreds of millions of dollars. And
- 7:50where's that money coming from. Not from me and you,
- 7:53It's coming from these people in the financial sector who
- 7:56want laws that are going to be written in a
- 7:59manner that benefits them. I know, breaking fucking news right.
- 8:03The fact that some people still don't understand this is
- 8:05mind boggling to me. Mandelssohn was sacked as US ambassador
- 8:11last September because of revelations about his close friendship with
- 8:14Jeffrey Epstein. Well might have something to do with the
- 8:18trade secrets he was given him, you know, not just
- 8:21a friendship. These resurfaced emails and related to reporting raised
- 8:25questions regarding the extent of the bank's relationship with Epstein
- 8:29and your knowledge of these ties, Warren said in her letter,
- 8:33which was first reported by The Financial Times. The former
- 8:37JP Morgan executive, an ex Barclay's boss, Jess Staley, has
- 8:41previously alleged that he communicated with Diamond about the bank's
- 8:44relationship with Epstein. Like I said, so it's hearsay, right.
- 8:49Who do you believe Jess Staley or Jamie Diamond talk
- 8:54about two serpents? A spokesman for JP Morgan said no,
- 8:59such conversation never occurred. Further, a UK tribunal has already
- 9:04called Staley's testimony evasive and unreliable. Well, that's true, Staley
- 9:09is not exactly a reliable narrator. Have you noticed a
- 9:12trend here, not many of those. The bank, which sued Staley,
- 9:16claims he hit Epstein's crimes from colleagues to keep him
- 9:19as a client. The parties were subsequently reported to have
- 9:22reached a confidential settlement. Ah. Yeah, good old confidential settlement.
- 9:26Nothing like the boys getting together to figure out how
- 9:29to smooth things over. A spokesman for JP Morgan said
- 9:34any association with the man was a mistake and we
- 9:37regret it. But we would not have continued doing business
- 9:40with him had we believed he was engaged in ongoing crimes.
- 9:44We exited him as a client in twenty thirteen, years
- 9:47before his federal sex trafficking arrest, and years after the
- 9:51government had damning information that they kept from us. Oh,
- 9:54the government should tell you. The government should just show
- 9:56up at JP Morgan and be like, hey, guys, you
- 9:59got big problems? Or should you have the checks and
- 10:02balances set up that catches his bullshit? We all know
- 10:05the story. They have regulations I have to follow. They
- 10:08ignored those regulations to keep banking Epstein. That's not an allegation,
- 10:14that's a fact. The US Bank reiterated that Diamond never
- 10:19met Epstein and was not involved in any decisions about
- 10:22his account. While he regularly speaks his mind on bad
- 10:25anti growth policy and has his own views, any suggestion
- 10:29that Diamond spoke with Epstein or took counsel from him
- 10:32was false. The spokesperson added, Okay, well, I don't know
- 10:36if I believe that or not, but okay, And as
- 10:39far as the banks go, and as far as Jamie
- 10:41Diamond goes, I've told you from the beginning, these people
- 10:45were the heartbeat. Without them, Epstein couldn't have done anything
- 10:49that he did. And while Jamie Diamond might not have
- 10:52been directly involved, he was in charge. He was the boss,
- 10:55and as we all know, the buck stops with you.
- 10:59But I highly doubt that anything's going to come of this,
- 11:03And I think that it's more Elizabeth Warren trying to
- 11:05flex and trying to say, look, I'm doing something than
- 11:08actually getting close to getting any kind of records or
- 11:12getting any kind of real information that's going to move
- 11:14the needle. But I'd love to eat crow and come
- 11:16back here and tell you that I was wrong. So
- 11:19we'll see what happens, and when we have some more
- 11:21information one way or the other about JP Morgan and
- 11:24the questions being asked to them will get that added
- 11:26to the catalog as well. All the information that goes
- 11:30with this episode can be found in the description box
