• 1:08
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 1:08
  SPEAKER_00: The bad guys.
• 1:10
SPEAKER_01: Even in China or Japan, one of the two, they have snakes come out of their toilet.
• 1:13
  SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
• 1:14
  SPEAKER_00: Ew.
• 1:15

SPEAKER_00: I would so poop standing up.
• 1:19
  SPEAKER_00: I hate snakes.
• 1:20
  SPEAKER_00: They're so gross.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_00: But right now I look like Medusa.
• 1:22
  SPEAKER_01: So sorry.
• 1:23
SPEAKER_00: So we rated it of snakes?
• 1:26
SPEAKER_00: Of snakes, of the bad people.
• 1:27
  SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah.
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
• 1:29
  SPEAKER_00: Metaphor.

• 2:03
  SPEAKER_01: It's been a week on steroids.
• 2:05
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_01: It doesn't even seem like it, but it has.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_01: The weather's been like supposed to be bad, but then pretty good and sunny.
• 2:13
SPEAKER_01: And so like I've just feels like spring outside.
• 2:16
SPEAKER_01: Been feeling really excited to get outside and start doing things.
• 2:19
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_01: And cleaning up my yard and off.
• 2:22
SPEAKER_01: And I had the spring vibe cleaning vibes are on.
• 2:24
SPEAKER_01: But we went to Stomp and then on Wednesday.
• 2:27
SPEAKER_01: And then and then the next day we went to Trivia at the North.
• 2:30
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 2:30
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, so fun.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_00: We did not win, but we did really good.
• 2:33
  SPEAKER_00: We got second.
• 2:34
  SPEAKER_01: Second place.
• 2:35
  SPEAKER_01: That's pretty dang good.
• 2:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 2:36
SPEAKER_01: So at the Hopping Gnome, that was a lot of fun.
• 2:39
SPEAKER_01: It was lovely to see Ethan and Haley.
• 2:41
  SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
• 2:42
SPEAKER_01: And the whole gang, of course.
• 2:43
SPEAKER_00: Yes, we had quite a troop that night.
• 2:45
  SPEAKER_00: I know.
• 2:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was great.
• 2:48
SPEAKER_00: And then the next day we did our coffee break.
• 2:52
  SPEAKER_00: At Goldfinch.
• 2:53
SPEAKER_00: So if you haven't caught that yet, look on our Instagram.
• 2:55
SPEAKER_00: I've yet to upload that to YouTube.
• 2:57
SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'll do that before this episode comes out.
• 2:59
  SPEAKER_01: I really liked it.
• 3:00
SPEAKER_01: And for how small of a space it is, it's actually quite spacious.
• 3:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's it's like keeps going.
• 3:06
SPEAKER_01: They've yeah, they've done a lot with the room they have.
• 3:09
SPEAKER_01: And it's so cute in there.
• 3:11
SPEAKER_01: I love the way they did the walls, like to where it looks like you're in the trees.
• 3:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 3:15
SPEAKER_01: Um we ordered espresso martini.
• 3:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, we did.
• 3:21
SPEAKER_01: And tried a couple other items on the menu, which were delicious.
• 3:23
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 3:24
SPEAKER_01: Their coffees looked great too.
• 3:26
SPEAKER_01: But you know, it was after work hours, so it was like a why not, why not partake?
• 3:31
SPEAKER_01: So we added that into our witchdown passport.
• 3:35
SPEAKER_01: We did a short little video of our coffee breaks for that one.
• 3:38
  SPEAKER_01: That's our third one.
• 3:39
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 3:39
SPEAKER_01: We've done three coffee breaks now.
• 3:41
SPEAKER_01: Have you seen all of them?
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
• 3:43
SPEAKER_01: If not, go check them out.
• 3:44
SPEAKER_01: But it's a little fun thing we like to do.
• 3:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 3:47
SPEAKER_01: That was our first time going to a whole new place.
• 3:49
  SPEAKER_01: I know Larchers I hadn't been to before.
• 3:52
SPEAKER_01: It was sort of new.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's been around for about a year, maybe two.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_01: But I it's been like it's we've like made dates to go there with whether it was you or another friend of mine, or it just didn't work out time-wise or whatnot.
• 4:04
SPEAKER_01: But since we're always right next door at the Belmont, I feel like I'd been to Larchers.
• 4:08
SPEAKER_01: Like I basically was there just on the outside, but it is so good on the inside.
• 4:12
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's so cute.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_01: Um, I'd really like to go to the house.
• 4:15
SPEAKER_01: Coffee drinks are great, too.
• 4:15
SPEAKER_01: So we have to go.
• 4:16
SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, we've got to.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_01: That'd be so much fun.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I go upstairs and stuff.
• 4:20
  SPEAKER_01: Heck yes.
• 4:21
SPEAKER_01: So the finch, and then after that, we you had some family in town.
• 4:25
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes.
• 4:27
SPEAKER_01: So therefore, I had family in town.
• 4:29
SPEAKER_00: So we had dinner Friday night with the fam.
• 4:34
SPEAKER_00: Tim's daughter Josie and her beau Theo were up here to oh, we're organizing Miss Brenda.
• 4:42
  SPEAKER_00: She bought a house.
• 4:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, yay, Brenda.
• 4:44
  SPEAKER_00: Yay, congrats, Brenda.
• 4:45
SPEAKER_00: So now we're like in organized and get ready to move mode with her.
• 4:49
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, so lots of extra time with Josie and Theo this weekend, which was awesome.
• 4:54
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so them and then Brenda, and we all had some food and drinks and just enjoyed catching up and stuff.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_01: It's been a while since I've seen Brenda, and especially Josie and Theo.
• 5:04
  SPEAKER_01: It's been forever.
• 5:05
  SPEAKER_01: So that was good.
• 5:07
  SPEAKER_01: So that's just I guess our mutual catch-up.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we spent three days in a row together.
• 5:13
  SPEAKER_01: We sure did.
• 5:14
  SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
• 5:15
  SPEAKER_01: It's crazy, but it's not because we're we're sisters.
• 5:18
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, basically.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_01: I know I was like, so like, yeah, I don't have anything to do.
• 5:22
SPEAKER_01: So can I like come?
• 5:24
  SPEAKER_01: Always.
• 5:25
  SPEAKER_00: The answer is always.
• 5:27
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
• 5:28
SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, so that's kind of similar to uh the pre past earlier that week, I went to visit my my mother, stepdad in Oklahoma, and it was so nice.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_01: It was so nice and relaxing.
• 5:42
  SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen them in a while.
• 5:45
SPEAKER_01: And so I helped paint my mom's living room, and she helped me, and it was just fun.
• 5:50
SPEAKER_01: We turned on music and just had a good time catching up and chit-chatting about just everything and making jokes and just being silly gals together, and it was a lot of fun and so relaxing.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_01: I because I'm away from home, I had nothing to that I could fiddle around and do aside from just normally helping them, you know, keep their the house in order and help them paint.
• 6:12
SPEAKER_01: And so the next day I just laid in, it was like 75 or more degrees and sunny there in Oklahoma.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_01: I think it was rainy here that day, but I just laid it out by their little koi pond in a hammock in the sun, like literally all day, and just like on vacation.
• 6:29
SPEAKER_01: Like me and my mom were just chilling together, like sometimes kind of talking, sometimes quiet, just sitting there enjoying it.
• 6:36
SPEAKER_01: And it was so nice.
• 6:37
SPEAKER_01: It was very much needed, and I'm so glad I got to spend some time with her and Jim.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_01: And then later that next night, I went, my cousins live in the area as well, so I went to dinner with them, and I had some amazing crab legs.
• 6:50
SPEAKER_01: Oh, they were so good.
• 6:52
  SPEAKER_01: Wow.
• 6:53
SPEAKER_01: I think there was like I ordered the small order, uh-huh.
• 6:56
  SPEAKER_01: But I don't know.
• 6:58
SPEAKER_01: I think there was maybe a language barrier.
• 7:02
SPEAKER_01: I got this giant plate with like five crabs on it.
• 7:07
  SPEAKER_01: Whoa.
• 7:09
  SPEAKER_01: But it was fun.
• 7:10
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, screw it.
• 7:11
SPEAKER_01: I'm still celebrating my birthday.
• 7:13
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 7:13
  SPEAKER_01: I'm seeing my family.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_01: I'm on a mini vacation for a few days.
• 7:16
  SPEAKER_01: Like, why not?
• 7:17
SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not gonna send it back.
• 7:19
  SPEAKER_01: No, it's delicious.
• 7:21
SPEAKER_01: Crab in front of my face.
• 7:22
  SPEAKER_01: That's right.
• 7:22
SPEAKER_01: But it was so good.
• 7:23
  SPEAKER_01: I hadn't had crab a long time.
• 7:24
SPEAKER_01: So me and my cousins had fun eating that together and just catching up.
• 7:27
SPEAKER_01: And it's always a breath of fresh air seeing not only my mom and Jim, but also like my cousins, because we don't get as much quality time together as you know, now that we've all grown up.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_01: So we both had family encounters this last week.
• 7:43
SPEAKER_01: Yes, we're both on the same page.
• 7:46
SPEAKER_01: And then sorry, I'm keep going.
• 7:49
SPEAKER_01: It's like so much has happened this past year.
• 7:51
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 7:53
SPEAKER_01: Then over the weekend, when I had alone time, I organized both of my closets entirely.
• 7:58
  SPEAKER_01: I pulled everything out.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_01: I got rid of a whole laundry hamper worth of stuff.
• 8:04
SPEAKER_01: Well, I have it in a pile to take to donate.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_01: Great, but yeah, I organized it all so I feel just clean because the weather was good, you know, windows are open.
• 8:13
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 8:14
SPEAKER_00: And what about you know, we did a little bit of that around here uh this weekend, a little reorganizing and did some purging of the of stuff around here.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_00: Like, I feel like if we haven't used it or looked at it in a year, then it's gotta go.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_00: Um, but that but a lot of the weekend we've spent with you know, hanging out with Josie and Theo, organizing Brenda's house and getting her all set to move.
• 8:37
SPEAKER_00: So it was just kind of like just move mode, really, honestly.
• 8:41
SPEAKER_00: Sounds like we're both on the same page.
• 8:43
SPEAKER_01: We've had lots of family, we've done all the things together.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_01: We've got family, we've got organization in the air.
• 8:49
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's it's gonna be a good year.
• 8:52
  SPEAKER_00: It already is.
• 8:53
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a good year, but is it gonna be a good this or that segment?
• 8:56
  SPEAKER_00: Uh oh.
• 8:58
SPEAKER_00: We're not always on the same wavelength with this one, so I guess we'll find out.
• 9:03
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 9:04
SPEAKER_01: And Jen got us new markers.
• 9:07
  SPEAKER_01: Look at that.
• 9:09
  SPEAKER_00: They're green because we're green today.
• 9:11
  SPEAKER_00: We're using green today.
• 9:12
SPEAKER_00: So this is this or that uh stage life edition.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_00: It you know, we we compete when we when it's just the two of us.
• 9:23
SPEAKER_00: So the way this goes is I will read off a couple of prompts that Rachel has no idea about, and kind of I minimally do as well.
• 9:31
SPEAKER_00: And we will write down our own answer and then we will try to guess what each other answers.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_00: And if we are right about each other, we get a point.
• 9:42
  SPEAKER_00: If we're wrong, we don't get a point.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_00: So she gets a point if I'm wrong, and I get a point if she's wrong.
• 9:50
SPEAKER_00: But a lot of the time we tie, so we'll see what happens.
• 9:53
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's go.
• 9:54
  SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
• 9:55
SPEAKER_00: What do you got for me?
• 9:56
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so um, okay, opening night energy or closing night emotion.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_00: I feel like we've answered this kind of before, but it was a really long time ago.
• 10:06
SPEAKER_00: Okay, opening night energy or closing emotion.
• 10:08
  SPEAKER_00: Or closing night emotion.
• 10:11
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 10:12
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 10:14
SPEAKER_01: The late first year answer.
• 10:16
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know for you.
• 10:18
  SPEAKER_00: I don't know for you.
• 10:20
SPEAKER_00: Usually the first one is a lot easier.
• 10:24
  SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
• 10:25
  SPEAKER_00: No.
• 10:25
  SPEAKER_00: You're not okay.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_01: I don't know what to put for you, so I'm gonna just put the same as me.
• 10:29
  SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't know.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_00: Well, she won't, she, will, she won't, she.
• 10:34
  SPEAKER_01: I guess we'll find out.
• 10:35
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 10:36
  SPEAKER_01: That's tough.
• 10:37
SPEAKER_01: Because I know you love both.
• 10:39
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 10:40
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, flip.
• 10:41
  SPEAKER_00: I put open, open.
• 10:43
SPEAKER_00: I put oh, so I'm the wrong one.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_00: I well, I put closing for me and opening for you.
• 10:47
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I almost erased it and put closed and then I erased it and put open.
• 10:51
  SPEAKER_01: So wait.
• 10:51
  SPEAKER_01: Oh.
• 10:52
  SPEAKER_01: So who's right?
• 10:53
  SPEAKER_01: I'm right.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_01: No, I'm well, because the word emotion to me, I'm just like, I don't want to get emotional, but I know, but we love talking about after because then that's when it really hits you, and you're like, holy crap.
• 11:03
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 11:04
SPEAKER_01: But I think, oh wow, okay.
• 11:06
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you got me.
• 11:08
SPEAKER_00: Well, and here's the thing about the closing is like I feel like reflection.
• 11:13
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's a lot of that, and then like at that point, if it's the closing night, this the cast members are a lot more lighthearted.
• 11:22
SPEAKER_00: They do a lot more ad-libbing and a lot of more off the cuff.
• 11:26
SPEAKER_00: The energy with them can be a little bit higher.
• 11:28
SPEAKER_01: I was thinking before the show experience or after the show experience, but I get either either way, it still correlates for the most part.
• 11:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 11:37
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, that makes sense.
• 11:38
  SPEAKER_01: Dang it, Jen.
• 11:39
  SPEAKER_01: You got all right.
• 11:41
SPEAKER_01: I gotta get I gotta get you now.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_00: Okay, spotlights or disco lights.
• 11:46
SPEAKER_00: I think I know, but do uh you ready?
• 11:49
  SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
• 11:50
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 11:50
SPEAKER_00: I put disco for both.
• 11:52
  SPEAKER_01: Disco for both.
• 11:53
SPEAKER_01: I don't want like I was thinking, like, point it at me.
• 11:55
  SPEAKER_01: Hell no.
• 11:56
  SPEAKER_01: I don't want a spotlight on me.
• 11:57
SPEAKER_01: That sounds terrible and hot.
• 11:59
SPEAKER_00: There's disco lights all night long, baby.
• 12:02
  SPEAKER_00: Woo! Bring that vibe.
• 12:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:04
SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking mirror balls everywhere.
• 12:06
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yes.
• 12:07
  SPEAKER_00: Called it.
• 12:08
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:09
SPEAKER_00: Hit me with number three.
• 12:10
SPEAKER_00: Okay, number three is theater popcorn or concert beer.
• 12:16
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, no, no, no.
• 12:17
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna switch this up a little bit.
• 12:18
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 12:18
SPEAKER_00: Theater wine or concert beer.
• 12:22
SPEAKER_00: It's still tough, but okay.
• 12:25
SPEAKER_00: Oh, it is so hard.
• 12:27
  SPEAKER_00: Shit! I don't like this one.
• 12:29
  SPEAKER_00: I take it back.
• 12:29
  SPEAKER_01: It's a tough one.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_01: Do you want to stick with it?
• 12:31
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 12:32
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, theater wine trick.
• 12:34
  SPEAKER_01: Or concert beer.
• 12:36
  SPEAKER_01: Why?
• 12:37
  SPEAKER_01: They're both overpriced.
• 12:39
  SPEAKER_00: It's so true.
• 12:40
SPEAKER_00: And they both mean you're having so much fun.
• 12:42
  SPEAKER_00: I'm torn.
• 12:43
  SPEAKER_00: Which would I rather?
• 12:45
SPEAKER_00: You look so cute with that hat on.
• 12:47
  SPEAKER_00: You do.
• 12:49
  SPEAKER_00: Oh god.
• 12:50
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 12:51
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
• 12:52
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 12:53
SPEAKER_00: I'm just going for it.
• 12:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 12:55
SPEAKER_00: I don't know that I'm I don't know that my heart is completely into this.
• 12:59
SPEAKER_01: I don't even think you know your own answer.
• 13:01
SPEAKER_00: I'm really having a beef with it.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_01: I am doing I went with it, and we'll talk about the reason after.
• 13:06
  SPEAKER_01: Are you ready?
• 13:07
  SPEAKER_01: Same Z's.
• 13:08
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 13:08
  SPEAKER_01: Beer.
• 13:09
  SPEAKER_00: Beer, beer.
• 13:10
  SPEAKER_00: Beer, beer.
• 13:11
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_00: I bet your reason is pretty close to my.
• 13:14
SPEAKER_01: Is it because those tiny cups always spill in the theater?
• 13:17
  SPEAKER_00: That's not the reason.
• 13:19
SPEAKER_00: The reason for me is because I just really, really, really I I really love concerts, especially Wichita live concerts.
• 13:28
SPEAKER_00: I love them so much.
• 13:29
SPEAKER_00: I love Broadway and Wichita, and I love going to theater so much.
• 13:33
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
• 13:33
SPEAKER_01: But oh my gosh, do I love rocking out?
• 13:36
SPEAKER_01: It's just so much more, I feel like it's less formal.
• 13:39
SPEAKER_01: So, like, yes, I love the formality.
• 13:41
  SPEAKER_01: So much.
• 13:42
SPEAKER_01: For lack of a better word, of being in a theater and sipping on wine.
• 13:46
SPEAKER_01: But also, I feel like theater wine, I would like want I still want to drink wine out of glass.
• 13:55
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, yes.
• 13:56
SPEAKER_01: I can drink beer out of the plastic.
• 13:59
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 13:59
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna write a little Wichita wine.
• 14:01
  SPEAKER_00: Again with our tongues.
• 14:02
  SPEAKER_00: What is happening?
• 14:04
  SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
• 14:05
SPEAKER_00: That's it, because we're not using stems.
• 14:07
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 14:07
SPEAKER_01: I think it was happening with our stems at the other restaurant.
• 14:10
SPEAKER_00: Ooh, and if you like these beautiful Wichita flag wine glasses, you can get them at the work drunk.
• 14:16
  SPEAKER_01: At the Wachroom.
• 14:17
SPEAKER_00: Magical place called the Work Room.
• 14:19
  SPEAKER_00: The Wakum.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I feel like, you know, it is formal and it's nice to have a little drink to sip on while you're in the theater and the wine, but they give them to you the small plastic cups that they're only allowed to give you in that are rim rockers, and you're scooting through people with your full as heck wine.
• 14:37
SPEAKER_01: I know, I know I always slosh it on myself.
• 14:40
SPEAKER_01: And so I'm like, I Jen, I'm gonna have to drink half of this before I even get to my seat.
• 14:45
SPEAKER_01: Or I'm gonna waste it.
• 14:46
SPEAKER_00: I just overpaid and sit and I just overpaid for this giant what sometimes they'll give, sometimes, depending on the staff member working.
• 14:54
SPEAKER_00: Sometimes they'll give us the 12 plastic glasses, but they're not supposed to.
• 15:00
SPEAKER_01: I've only gotten two men to do it for me.
• 15:02
SPEAKER_01: This last time it is always men.
• 15:04
SPEAKER_01: It's always the men face sink.
• 15:07
SPEAKER_01: But anyways, and then concert beers, I just feel like it's more chill and it's more of like a like a casual, sort of free-spirited sort of a vibe.
• 15:18
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 15:19
SPEAKER_01: Also, the good weather's coming out, so I just can't wait to be at the brickyard and be getting my patio beers or patio summer bridges, or you know, I just can't wait.
• 15:28
SPEAKER_00: So speaking of brickyard, a ban in Kansas is playing March 28th, the day after my birthday.
• 15:34
  SPEAKER_00: I'm so excited.
• 15:35
  SPEAKER_00: Let's a thing go.
• 15:37
  SPEAKER_00: I will be late.
• 15:38
SPEAKER_00: I'm not going out of town.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_00: I will be at a gala earlier that evening, but we are totally after partying at the brickyard.
• 15:45
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, we are.
• 15:46
  SPEAKER_00: All dressed up.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_00: We're just packing it all in.
• 15:51
  SPEAKER_00: It's our 30th birthday too, honey.
• 15:53
  SPEAKER_00: That's right.
• 15:54
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 30 plus 13.
• 15:56
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 15:57
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so the next question would you rather have a stage fright situation or a microphone malfunction?
• 16:03
SPEAKER_01: A microphone malfunction or a stage fright?
• 16:05
SPEAKER_01: Doesn't that happen all in one time?
• 16:08
SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, if my microphone malfunctions, I'm gonna have a stage fright moment.
• 16:12
  SPEAKER_00: Well, it depends.
• 16:13
  SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't like I don't know.
• 16:16
SPEAKER_00: Well how do you define these?
• 16:18
  SPEAKER_00: Well, okay.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_00: Like maybe more like nerves.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_00: Would you rather have to deal with NERVs?
• 16:24
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 16:24
SPEAKER_00: Like pre-show nerves, okay, or dealing with tech that just won't work, the mount the microphone malfunction.
• 16:32
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_00: Um, I know I d I know my answer right off the freaking bat.
• 16:37
SPEAKER_00: Now I don't know yours now that you've answered so quickly.
• 16:40
SPEAKER_00: I've experienced both and I know which one I prefer.
• 16:44
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 16:45
SPEAKER_01: I you might have me again.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_00: No, you might be surprised.
• 16:49
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 16:49
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, I haven't guessed yours.
• 16:51
  SPEAKER_00: So um no.
• 16:54
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 16:54
  SPEAKER_00: Not that one.
• 16:56
SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna think of not looking.
• 16:58
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, are you ready?
• 16:59
  SPEAKER_01: I think so.
• 17:00
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's flip.
• 17:01
SPEAKER_00: I said stage fright for both.
• 17:03
  SPEAKER_00: What did you say?
• 17:04
SPEAKER_00: I said nerves for both.
• 17:05
  SPEAKER_01: We're both we're both wrong.
• 17:07
SPEAKER_01: Wait, no, no, no, we're right.
• 17:08
  SPEAKER_01: Because we're both right.
• 17:10
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 17:11
SPEAKER_01: Because stage fright nerves, yeah.
• 17:13
SPEAKER_01: Because I'm like, the last thing I want is to be on stage and have a malfunction going on.
• 17:17
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 17:18
  SPEAKER_01: No, they exactly.
• 17:19
SPEAKER_01: So I feel like if it happened pre-show and it was delayed and we fixed it, that's something.
• 17:25
  SPEAKER_01: But no, no, no.
• 17:26
SPEAKER_01: I have nerves before going to the freaking grocery store.
• 17:30
  SPEAKER_01: See, exactly.
• 17:31
SPEAKER_00: It's all on how you handle a situation.
• 17:33
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yes, absolutely.
• 17:35
SPEAKER_01: So we both got a point.
• 17:36
  SPEAKER_00: Yay! You're still winning.
• 17:38
  SPEAKER_00: You're killing it.
• 17:40
  SPEAKER_00: Ooh, ooh, okay.
• 17:41
SPEAKER_00: I love this last question so much.
• 17:43
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 17:44
SPEAKER_00: This is the last one.
• 17:45
SPEAKER_00: Planned performance or chaotic, unforgettable nights.
• 17:50
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 17:51
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 17:52
SPEAKER_00: That was an easy one for me.
• 17:54
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 17:55
  SPEAKER_00: Ready?
• 17:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 17:56
  SPEAKER_00: Chaos.
• 17:58
  SPEAKER_00: Pouring it on.
• 17:58
  SPEAKER_00: I need it.
• 17:59
  SPEAKER_00: Chaotic.
• 18:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yes, husband.
• 18:01
  SPEAKER_01: So you won.
• 18:02
  SPEAKER_01: I did.
• 18:02
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, we have to start having six questions.
• 18:05
SPEAKER_01: Because if one person, but we got everything right, but one person.
• 18:08
SPEAKER_01: So it's really like if one person screws one question up, then you're fucked.
• 18:12
  SPEAKER_01: But I don't know.
• 18:13
  SPEAKER_01: But yeah, definitely.
• 18:15
  SPEAKER_01: I like having a plan.
• 18:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, hey, we're gonna start here.
• 18:19
SPEAKER_00: But but God, if serenivity takes over and it's effing amazing, those are the most memorable nights.
• 18:25
  SPEAKER_00: Then yeah, why not?
• 18:26
SPEAKER_00: Those are the stories that you have later on.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_01: You run into somebody you know at the first place that tells you that they're going to this like other event or that, you know, something like that, then it just works out.
• 18:38
SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's how it works when you have a good network of people that are just wholeheartedly doing like wholeheartedly fun things, you know, and not like you don't have to worry about like it's like I don't know, go into the wrong place, the wrong time.
• 18:54
SPEAKER_00: I think it's a good idea to follow, yeah, just follow the vibe.
• 18:58
  SPEAKER_00: Go with the flow.
• 18:58
SPEAKER_00: Go with let yourself relax and you never know what can be.
• 19:03
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm so excited.
• 19:05
SPEAKER_00: Okay, so let's talk about Stomp.
• 19:10
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 19:11
SPEAKER_00: I am so freaking excited.
• 19:13
  SPEAKER_00: I still can't believe we've already done this.
• 19:15
SPEAKER_00: I want to go back and do it again.
• 19:16
SPEAKER_00: I have wanted to see that production since I was a kid.
• 19:20
  SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
• 19:21
  SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
• 19:23
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, it was so good.
• 19:24
SPEAKER_00: That one poor guy that was always like the left out one.
• 19:27
SPEAKER_00: But he was still super funny.
• 19:29
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, he was amazing.
• 19:31
  SPEAKER_01: They did amazing.
• 19:33
  SPEAKER_01: I can't.
• 19:34
SPEAKER_01: I you'd never think that something with like little to no words would be such an experience.
• 19:41
SPEAKER_00: But you knew we knew exactly what was happening the entire time.
• 19:45
SPEAKER_00: What was your favorite part?
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
• 19:49
SPEAKER_00: Um, what was my favorite part?
• 19:52
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, that's a really good question.
• 19:55
  SPEAKER_00: I think I I don't oh my god, I don't even know.
• 19:59
SPEAKER_00: There's so many good parts, but I think towards the end where they did come out with the trash cans, yeah, because that is such an iconic part of Stomp.
• 20:07
SPEAKER_00: And it was like the oh my god, look at us.
• 20:10
SPEAKER_00: But we're here at Stomp.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_00: That was the moment for me.
• 20:13
SPEAKER_01: I just it it was I really liked when they had that two-story wall going on in the background with all of the pans and stuff hung on the walls, and they were suspended and doing it in front of them.
• 20:27
SPEAKER_01: And like, I I don't even know what to call it.
• 20:29
SPEAKER_01: They were doing it, they were stomping with their arms and sticks.
• 20:32
SPEAKER_01: Yes, like they were drumming on all these things that were suspended in the air on the back wall platform, and in the lights were perfect, and it was just such a they made it like so visually appealing, yes, on top of just being so entertaining, but also having like a storyline and showing their friendship on stage with their characters, stage characters, but something just like it it it shows true to who they actually probably are.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_01: Like I really their characters fit them, and I think that's why it felt so authentic and genuine.
• 21:10
SPEAKER_01: And also there are muscles, hot oh my lord.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_00: Get me a trash can and a drumstick right now because I will broom my way to success.
• 21:19
SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, the brooms at the beginning.
• 21:21
  SPEAKER_00: So, so funny.
• 21:23
SPEAKER_00: And then the guy actually pouring the sand out of his shoe.
• 21:25
SPEAKER_00: Yes, to make his own sand because he didn't get any sand originally.
• 21:31
SPEAKER_00: It was such a good show, you guys.
• 21:33
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, I loved it.
• 21:35
SPEAKER_01: And it was such a small crew, too.
• 21:37
  SPEAKER_01: What was it?
• 21:38
SPEAKER_01: Like seven, maybe eight, nine, ten.
• 21:41
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 21:41
SPEAKER_01: It was and I mean, of course, I imagine behind the stage there's way more, but it makes me I'm just curious about the sound and the lighting.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_01: Like, I want to know how they did the sound.
• 21:51
SPEAKER_01: Like, it couldn't surely all just actually be them stomping their stuff.
• 21:55
SPEAKER_01: I know what ding sure is a lot of it.
• 21:57
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 21:57
SPEAKER_01: But to keep them on rhythm, like there had to be something in the background and the mics and all of these items that they're using.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_01: There has to be something going on there, and I just would love to know.
• 22:07
SPEAKER_00: Or is it just muscle memorization?
• 22:09
SPEAKER_01: Like is it all just we just know it's gotta be both because it looks exact you know it looks like it's and you know when you jump on that old wooden stage at Century 2 that it's making a noise.
• 22:20
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_01: Um you know, so yeah.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_01: Honestly, pro I wonder if they have problems with certain stages when they perform this.
• 22:28
SPEAKER_01: If it that's probably why they'd have to have the soundtrack, because I bet other stages they probably is like a solid, not a wooden stage.
• 22:36
SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's like you know, so it doesn't actually make sound when you hit it.
• 22:41
SPEAKER_01: Well that would be really like century two.
• 22:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_00: I I can't imagine Stomp without all all of the all of those incredible sounds.
• 22:49
SPEAKER_00: Like it's so the amount of materials that they came out and used, like the PVC pipes, but all that.
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_00: That was fun.
• 22:55
  SPEAKER_00: That was fun.
• 22:56
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was really cool.
• 22:57
SPEAKER_01: So you know, it reminded me of when I was in Salem with Kayla, and we saw so many street performers.
• 23:05
SPEAKER_01: And him and his son, this man and his son sat up in the square or on the main street, and they had buckets and pans just like that, flipped over with drumsticks.
• 23:14
SPEAKER_01: And it sounded so freaking good.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_01: Like this dude needs to be part of a stomp like sort of group.
• 23:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 23:22
  SPEAKER_01: It sounded so good.
• 23:23
SPEAKER_01: I still have a video of it on my phone, and he would just go for hours for hours and hours, but it sounded so good.
• 23:29
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's it's just wild to me.
• 23:32
SPEAKER_00: Oh, and then was it like were those?
• 23:35
SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to remember how so much has happened since we know, but when they were came out uh wearing the trash cans.
• 23:43
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, on their feet.
• 23:44
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they looked like some sort of trash store trooper or something.
• 23:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they were wearing trash cans on their feet and walking.
• 23:51
SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it was incredible.
• 23:53
  SPEAKER_01: It was so funny.
• 23:54
  SPEAKER_01: I liked that.
• 23:55
SPEAKER_01: And then that one guy was like, couldn't lift his foot, the poor guy.
• 23:59
SPEAKER_01: But I loved it too because they like really brought like the streets and like everything into like it's just melding of worlds.
• 24:09
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 24:09
SPEAKER_01: And that's what I really like about Stomp and the production is like I don't I don't know much about it in the original story.
• 24:16
SPEAKER_00: Oh so it's is is it came out over 30 years ago.
• 24:21
SPEAKER_00: The reason why I clung to it and became completely just basically infatuated with this show, is because I took dance when I was a kid, ages like age three to eighteen, and I did tap, ballet, and jazz, and tap was absolutely hands-on my favorite.
• 24:38
SPEAKER_00: But our my dance teacher Lana and her daughter Shauna, they were they were big time into Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_00: But I remember when they came back from seeing Stomp, and they were completely, they were so incredibly inspired that the advanced class, the big kids, I was I must have been still like in middle school or something, not quite to the advanced class yet.
• 25:01
SPEAKER_00: But I remember in our dance recital that year, the advanced class got to do a number from Stomp.
• 25:08
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, what the hell is this?
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_00: This is freaking amazing.
• 25:14
SPEAKER_00: I and and from that moment I have just been so enthralled with the whole concept of Stomp.
• 25:20
SPEAKER_00: And then I didn't even know that they brought in like a humor, like a comedic factor until we went to see it for the first time the other night.
• 25:30
SPEAKER_01: This is I mean, I imagine they do each production differently depending on who's putting it on, you know.
• 25:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 25:36
SPEAKER_01: But I loved the way they did this one.
• 25:38
  SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
• 25:38
SPEAKER_01: It really made it more kind of I don't want to say circus-esque, but no, no.
• 25:44
SPEAKER_01: They made it relatable and everybody in the crowd was laughing and just like so excited about it.
• 25:52
SPEAKER_01: Even the way they closed the show.
• 25:54
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
• 25:57
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, it started with the claps, imitation of the claps, and then the snaps, and then and but then like we standing oveded.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we obviously standing ovated.
• 26:07
  SPEAKER_00: I love that.
• 26:08
  SPEAKER_01: Twice.
• 26:08
SPEAKER_01: We all stood up and clapped, and this then that I don't know what to call him, goofy fella came out and then he flipped the sign that they flipped over at the beginning that said no cell phones.
• 26:18
SPEAKER_01: He flipped it to cell phones.
• 26:19
SPEAKER_01: Thank God, because then we got to get some photos.
• 26:21
SPEAKER_01: And then they came out and did a little bit of a minor performance so we could all get photos.
• 26:26
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was amazing.
• 26:27
SPEAKER_01: And the which honestly, brilliant move.
• 26:29
  SPEAKER_01: Like brilliant move.
• 26:31
SPEAKER_01: Yes, especially for that kind of a performance.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't think there's any way that you could do that with like the nutcracker or with a classic like one of those kinds of like ballets.
• 26:41
SPEAKER_01: But with a show like this, like the way that they incorporated that little aspect was so good.
• 26:46
SPEAKER_01: And then they had us clapping with them and stuff and kind of making us just all feel silly about ourselves and like not able to keep up with their claps.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_00: Cause the way that that that tall man in the white shirt, yeah, the blonde guy, yeah, it was so quick.
• 27:01
SPEAKER_00: And he just started with us like like I'm waiting.
• 27:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 27:05
SPEAKER_00: Like the first time, we're like, Are we what what does he want from us?
• 27:08
SPEAKER_00: He clearly wants something from us, and then eventually we caught on.
• 27:11
SPEAKER_01: It was fun, and like everybody was participating.
• 27:14
SPEAKER_01: So they really did get everybody.
• 27:17
SPEAKER_01: Like there, you see so many people doing that in audiences that the half of us, like half of the people in the audience, could participate.
• 27:24
SPEAKER_01: I feel like everybody was participating.
• 27:28
SPEAKER_01: Yes, and so that was also part of the experience, too.
• 27:31
SPEAKER_01: So I really liked that.
• 27:33
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 27:34
SPEAKER_01: I really think that they did a good job with that to where it wasn't too corny.
• 27:40
SPEAKER_01: It was just like funny enough, and the way they included us at the end was really cool too.
• 27:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 27:45
SPEAKER_01: And allowed us to get some good shots.
• 27:46
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
• 27:47
SPEAKER_00: That new that uh that the when he came out on stage at the very beginning and flipped it, I was like, Oh, I know when at the very beginning they came and flipped the phone to no phone sign, and like he slapped it onto the thing and like kind of pointed out it was like.
• 28:02
SPEAKER_00: Okay, Link Danes from Go More Girls.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_01: And we were like, shit, okay, fine.
• 28:07
SPEAKER_01: But then at the end they gave us the chance to get more phones.
• 28:13
SPEAKER_01: Which is ideal because we need to make content exactly.
• 28:16
SPEAKER_01: I was like, well, shit, can we do it without flash?
• 28:20
  SPEAKER_00: I'm scared.
• 28:22
  SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
• 28:23
SPEAKER_00: Like, I've so back when I used to do this stuff for music theater Wichita, I I would capture, I would get I would capture content during the shows.
• 28:34
SPEAKER_00: And I believe it was part of my assignment too.
• 28:37
SPEAKER_00: There, I remember this this older man behind me.
• 28:41
SPEAKER_00: Every time I pulled out my phone, he'd be like, She's taking photos of me.
• 28:45
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
• 28:46
SPEAKER_00: And like, and made me so self-conscious, so uncomfortable, so self-conscious, and then just like it kind of depleted me.
• 28:53
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I'm supposed to be there having a wonderful night doing my job.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_00: Like, if this is what I'm assigned to do.
• 29:00
SPEAKER_00: And the man, he he has no idea, and God bless him, but like even if no one says that to me, I still feel like that.
• 29:09
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, yeah.
• 29:10
SPEAKER_01: Um, even when we're doing our little videos in public for our coffee breaks or whatever, I'm like, I don't want to like weird anyone out, yeah, you know, like, but I don't think that's near as bad because it's a special balance.
• 29:23
SPEAKER_01: Like, how do you think the like the future is evolving?
• 29:26
SPEAKER_01: But at the same time, I like that they still keep those phone rolls because I think it keeps the respect for the art and the experience, and all of the and the ticket people that pay paid for tickets, you know.
• 29:37
SPEAKER_01: There are so many idiots that don't know how to turn off their flash.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_01: That would totally throw me off if I was on and it would totally throw off my experience if I was another person of the crowd.
• 29:46
SPEAKER_01: So it does, it's very distracting.
• 29:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and even just the screen light.
• 29:50
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, from the city.
• 29:51
SPEAKER_00: So you're supposed to put it really, really dim.
• 29:53
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 29:53
  SPEAKER_01: It can help it.
• 29:54
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:55
SPEAKER_01: And then, but even then, depending on the crowd, you know, or the angle, whatever, yeah.
• 29:59
SPEAKER_01: So it's really interesting to see in this age.
• 30:01
SPEAKER_01: I I will say I know we need the content, which is why I appreciate them opening it up at the end.
• 30:07
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 30:07
SPEAKER_01: But I hope that it does remain where that is a like stuff.
• 30:11
SPEAKER_01: That's with the arts, you know.
• 30:13
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for sure.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_01: Because it it is, it was good to just not even worry.
• 30:17
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, my friends of course, it was fantastic.
• 30:20
SPEAKER_00: And it was like this is kind of a relief, honestly.
• 30:22
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was good to see you just like sit back and just enjoy the experience, you know.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_01: And me too, you know.
• 30:28
SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, Stomp was amazing.
• 30:29
  SPEAKER_00: It was amazing.
• 30:30
SPEAKER_00: There's something just magical about watching artists perform live.
• 30:34
SPEAKER_00: I just love it so much.
• 30:35
SPEAKER_00: I wish we could have met them.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_00: They looked like a fun group.
• 30:38
  SPEAKER_00: Really did.
• 30:38
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that would have been really cool.
• 30:40
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they were only in town for one night this time, so it was a one-night situation, no intermission.
• 30:46
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was just a one and done and get out.
• 30:49
SPEAKER_00: It was it was very cool.
• 30:51
  SPEAKER_00: It was so cool.
• 30:52
SPEAKER_00: So, speaking of shows, it is time for our hits different segment night.
• 30:59
SPEAKER_00: It's different, like drumstick on a pan.
• 31:02
  SPEAKER_00: No, not like that.
• 31:03
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 31:04
SPEAKER_00: Um, the song that was assigned this week to Rachel for our Hits Different segment, where Rachel talks about, and well, we we talk about our Taylor Swift song and we reflect on what the lyrics mean to us when, or you know, how they kind of relate to our lives or whatever.
• 31:23
SPEAKER_00: This this week's song in true show fashion is Life of a Showgirl featuring Sabrina Carpenter from the Life of a Showgirl album that was released in October.
• 31:34
SPEAKER_01: Well, tell me what you thought.
• 31:37
SPEAKER_01: I listened to it and I like it.
• 31:42
SPEAKER_01: I think it I guess the main things I got from it were, you know, she's looking up to this person.
• 31:50
SPEAKER_01: She sees all the pretty things and all the things that she thinks she wants, but then this other, you know, person is like, hey, you know, A, I think it was like she dealt with people doubting her.
• 32:04
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 32:05
SPEAKER_01: And B, you don't know what someone else went through to get where they are today.
• 32:10
  SPEAKER_01: That's so true.
• 32:11
SPEAKER_01: And so that was kind of my main point that I took away from it.
• 32:15
SPEAKER_01: But then also she later in the song tracks through, Well, I did do this, and I am that now.
• 32:23
SPEAKER_01: And so thank you for the beautiful bouquet.
• 32:28
SPEAKER_01: And I love you, just love that I'm quoting it.
• 32:32
SPEAKER_01: So I love that she ends up being able to like show up this person that doubted her, but also is still looking up to them for being like, hey, this is gonna be a lot of hard journey, and you're gonna have to deal with a lot of shit to get here.
• 32:47
SPEAKER_01: And when you're here, it's not just what someone's gone through to get where they are.
• 32:53
SPEAKER_01: Even once you get where you are, that doesn't mean you're done taking shit.
• 32:56
  SPEAKER_01: Nope.
• 32:57
SPEAKER_01: That means that you have to take shit every day.
• 33:00
SPEAKER_01: Yeah and you have to be strong enough to be there and you can't be soft.
• 33:03
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_01: And I think that it made me like I like that because that's how I feel when people look down on me, or not necessarily look down or doubt for lack of a better word, but kind of, you know, just don't think I have what it takes.
• 33:19
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 33:20
SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, honey, you don't know what I've been through just because I wear a smile on my face and sparkles.
• 33:25
  SPEAKER_01: Right?
• 33:26
SPEAKER_01: Like, I think I think it takes a lot in any woman and any human to sparkle and shine and be happy and positive, even when they have to go through shit every day.
• 33:39
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 33:39
SPEAKER_01: And they have gone through a lot of shit to get what they want.
• 33:42
SPEAKER_01: Like you might look at someone's life and be like, Man, I want their life.
• 33:46
SPEAKER_01: They look so beautiful, but behind closed doors, they might be miserable.
• 33:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 33:50
SPEAKER_01: And so that's kind of what I took from it.
• 33:52
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I think that's that's very valid.
• 33:54
SPEAKER_00: All of that is very valid.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_00: It's funny the way that I take it, it's kind of funny in that first verse.
• 34:01
SPEAKER_00: I take it a little bit differently.
• 34:03
SPEAKER_00: In which verse is that?
• 34:05
SPEAKER_00: The first verse where it's she watched Oh, from the seeds from the door.
• 34:12
SPEAKER_00: And she was saying, you don't want to be part of that, like, you don't want to do this.
• 34:16
SPEAKER_00: You don't want to do this.
• 34:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, this is takes work, and I and you're you're sweet, you're too soft, like you, you don't want to do this.
• 34:22
SPEAKER_00: There, there, you don't want to do this.
• 34:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
• 34:24
SPEAKER_00: This is a lot, and you don't even realize it.
• 34:27
SPEAKER_00: So it kind of in a a little bit differently, like, don't do it, you don't have what it takes, but like you don't want to do this.
• 34:32
SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to protect you from even getting into this.
• 34:35
SPEAKER_00: To me, like, it's I don't know, like, I I there's pieces that weave back into my childhood of being on stage all the time as a dancer and as a theater kid.
• 34:49
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I look back and I just one of my my favorite, favorite lines in this show, in this song is sequins are forever.
• 34:58
SPEAKER_00: Because my god, the amount of sequins that I've worn in my life from from being on stage, from being part of, you know, it's something you're whatever production.
• 35:08
SPEAKER_00: It's something you carry with you, so it's part of the legacy.
• 35:10
SPEAKER_00: Anika said, like once you're a dancer, you're always once you're a dancer, yes, you have that with you.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_00: It's the legacy, it's the legacy piece of it.
• 35:17
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 35:18
SPEAKER_00: And it even when I was a Zuma teacher, the amount of sequence, like it just it's like it's something that just never goes away.
• 35:26
SPEAKER_00: In fact, we are going to an event on Friday night, and my dress is sequence, and it's for Valley of Wichita.
• 35:33
  SPEAKER_00: So it's uh it's just, I don't know.
• 35:34
SPEAKER_01: It'll for me the lining.
• 35:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 35:37
  SPEAKER_01: I also wonder.
• 35:38
SPEAKER_01: Sorry to chime near side.
• 35:39
  SPEAKER_01: No, yeah.
• 35:40
SPEAKER_01: When you say she's standing there saying you don't want to do this, but also there's the other part and narrative of the lyrics that are saying, I want this, you know, sort of thing.
• 35:51
  SPEAKER_01: No, you're wrong.
• 35:51
SPEAKER_01: I do want to feel like it's also things I've battled with in my own mind.
• 35:56
SPEAKER_01: So it's like two parts of her own mind, I think.
• 35:58
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, an internal battle.
• 36:00
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 36:01
SPEAKER_01: And I think that's something you're gonna have to fight the whole way through.
• 36:05
  SPEAKER_00: Even in normal life.
• 36:06
SPEAKER_00: No, yeah, and in any industry, gosh, I know that I do that in my job all the time, even on this podcast.
• 36:13
SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I'm like, is this like, do we want to talk about this?
• 36:15
SPEAKER_00: Do we really want to deep dive into this?
• 36:17
SPEAKER_00: Is this a good good decision or not?
• 36:19
SPEAKER_00: Or, you know, a thing that we do on this podcast though is like we're really real.
• 36:24
SPEAKER_00: A lot of the times, um, not a lot of the times, but every once in a while that like we talk about something that's probably not the most comfortable to talk about, but we do it anyway because we're here to be authentic.
• 36:35
SPEAKER_01: I think this segment really helps us dive into more of that stuff too, because it gets us thinking about songs that make you feel things, yes, like reminisce.
• 36:42
SPEAKER_01: And that's the whole point of this is not even if you're not a Swifty and it, hey, I wasn't, I'm not, I'm I'm being induced.
• 36:50
SPEAKER_01: Wait, that sounds weird, but is that correct?
• 36:52
  SPEAKER_01: Inducted, yeah.
• 36:55
SPEAKER_00: Not being gonna have a little Swifty baby.
• 36:58
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, no, no worries, folks.
• 37:01
  SPEAKER_01: False alarm.
• 37:02
  SPEAKER_01: I'm being inducted.
• 37:03
  SPEAKER_01: She's being inducted as a Swifty.
• 37:05
  SPEAKER_01: That's correct.
• 37:06
  SPEAKER_01: We're working on it.
• 37:07
SPEAKER_01: Anyways, but that's what it's all about is just relating to each other more and learning.
• 37:13
SPEAKER_01: And Jen and I have learned more talking about and our perspectives.
• 37:17
SPEAKER_01: It gives us a like hotline to talk about.
• 37:19
SPEAKER_01: What else do you feel about this song?
• 37:22
SPEAKER_00: There's something you think about.
• 37:25
SPEAKER_00: Sometimes when I think about the marketing industry or even like the podcasting industry, there's a lot of there are a lot of things that uh there's a lot of red tape.
• 37:36
SPEAKER_00: Whether with work, there's always like, is the is this on brand?
• 37:41
SPEAKER_00: Is this blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
• 37:42
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of like terminology, correct?
• 37:45
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and there's a lot of beat down, beat down, beat down.
• 37:47
SPEAKER_00: And you really have to grow thick skin and learn how to take constructive feedback for what it is.
• 37:52
  SPEAKER_00: It's constructive, it's not personal.
• 37:55
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 37:55
SPEAKER_00: And through my career, I've, oh my God, I was soft as a kitten at the beginning.
• 38:01
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I couldn't even say the word no, like comfortably.
• 38:05
SPEAKER_00: My former boss that we met that one night when we were at the theater for the other production.
• 38:09
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_00: Um, she she used to like kind of coach me on saying no to things because I was so uncomfortable with saying no.
• 38:18
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, she is wonderful.
• 38:20
SPEAKER_00: She she was definitely a highlight to uh to my career.
• 38:24
  SPEAKER_00: I learned a lot from Vanessa.
• 38:26
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, so that so growing a thick skin and and being less of a people pleaser, a lot more direct.
• 38:33
SPEAKER_00: This is something that I'm on track at my current job right now.
• 38:37
SPEAKER_00: To I was challenged by our president last week to start being more to like work on being more tough and direct.
• 38:45
SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna I'm just gonna keep direct and maybe discard tough.
• 38:50
SPEAKER_01: I think that it goes together.
• 38:51
SPEAKER_01: If you are direct, you come off tough.
• 38:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe there's that.
• 38:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 38:55
SPEAKER_01: I also think that part of that comes with, I know for me, I have to take a second to digest something before I speak on it.
• 39:03
SPEAKER_01: And if someone is in the conversation, so I think I needed to take the sometimes it's more valuable for me to be like, hmm, let me get back to you.
• 39:12
  SPEAKER_01: That is so professional.
• 39:14
SPEAKER_01: Because if I don't do that, I might say something that makes me sound not direct and a little dumb and off-putting, like to where I'm like pushing something off.
• 39:22
SPEAKER_01: But really, I want to digest it so I can give you a direct answer when I've thought it through.
• 39:28
  SPEAKER_00: There's this TikToker that I follow.
• 39:30
SPEAKER_00: Her name is Morgan, and like a lot of the times she is narrating in a whisper her internal thoughts.
• 39:37
SPEAKER_00: But and then a lot of the times, like, so she works remotely and she's typing out this entire email to Martha remotely about like this project that apparently uh whatever she's working on.
• 39:48
SPEAKER_00: She's like, Dear Martha, and then she goes into like her feelings on the state of the country and all of this stuff.
• 39:54
SPEAKER_00: And did you see the like I don't know, just the craziest stuff, and then and then there's like backspace, backpacks, like she's backspacing for my god, and then dear Martha, I will have the project to you by Tuesday at 3 p.m.
• 40:06
SPEAKER_01: That's well, and also in like a meeting or something in a work setting.
• 40:10
SPEAKER_01: If I've got a lot of different things going into my brain at once, I'm gonna I I have them in there, but I'm gonna need to take notes and then prioritize what I need to think about and figure out first before I give you an answer in a plan of action.
• 40:23
SPEAKER_01: So I think you got off topic a little bit.
• 40:25
SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, I think that's never off topic on this show ever.
• 40:29
SPEAKER_00: We're talking about work, we're talking about with this song, yeah.
• 40:32
SPEAKER_00: Like it does go into professional.
• 40:34
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, being direct and off, it does help you look like that.
• 40:37
SPEAKER_01: And also, another point, you know what, baby?
• 40:40
SPEAKER_01: Sequence may as well be reptile scales.
• 40:43
  SPEAKER_01: It can be.
• 40:44
SPEAKER_01: That's big as shit, man.
• 40:46
  SPEAKER_01: That's right.
• 40:48
SPEAKER_01: Try to take off the sequence.
• 40:49
  SPEAKER_01: I dare you.
• 40:51
SPEAKER_01: You better buy me a drink first, though.
• 40:53
  SPEAKER_01: That's right.
• 40:53
  SPEAKER_01: Probably four.
• 40:54
  SPEAKER_01: Maybe a lot.
• 40:55
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 40:56
  unknown: That's perfect.
• 40:57
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 40:58
  SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
• 40:59
SPEAKER_00: No, like I've I with yeah, that song, I I love it.
• 41:04
SPEAKER_00: Um, every single time it comes on.
• 41:06
SPEAKER_00: It's just, it's such a perfect way to end that that overall album.
• 41:11
SPEAKER_00: It is the I haven't listened to all of the albums.
• 41:13
  SPEAKER_00: No, you haven't.
• 41:14
SPEAKER_00: No, we're working on it.
• 41:16
SPEAKER_00: So so far, you've heard you've we've talked about Opalite.
• 41:19
  SPEAKER_00: Okay.
• 41:19
SPEAKER_00: Um, which is also on that album, and we now we've talked about Life of a Showgirl, which is the title track.
• 41:24
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, shoot, do we need to work through an album at a time?
• 41:27
  SPEAKER_00: Or I I mean, I'm not opposed.
• 41:29
SPEAKER_01: It's kind of a fun album, honestly.
• 41:31
SPEAKER_01: Isn't it our most recent?
• 41:33
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
• 41:34
SPEAKER_01: Maybe we should do that then.
• 41:36
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 41:36
  SPEAKER_01: I'm not opposed, yeah.
• 41:37
SPEAKER_01: I think maybe and then like jump back to an older one, maybe at some point.
• 41:41
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
• 41:42
SPEAKER_00: We can do some good.
• 41:43
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot else to go through.
• 41:44
SPEAKER_01: I really like the duality of the songs I've heard so far.
• 41:47
SPEAKER_01: Like I like that the metaphors and kind of storyline, like, like I said, like I saw like multiple personal, like not personalities, but different versions of herself saying, like, because you know, that internal battle aspect I feel like it shows a lot in all of her songs, or at least a couple that I've heard, and you know, that speaks true to all of us.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_01: Like, it's hard doing it, and then it's like, ha, I did it.
• 42:12
SPEAKER_00: Do you want to hear one more interesting thing that I heard back when this song came out?
• 42:17
SPEAKER_00: But there was there was one TikToker was speculating or suggesting that when Taylor was young, the this song may be based off a time when she went to see Britney Spears in concert.
• 42:33
SPEAKER_00: And this may have been an interaction between Taylor and Britney Spears, which I kind of I I I don't know that that's true, but it kind of gives me goosebumps and gets me a little giddy.
• 42:44
SPEAKER_01: But also, even if it's not true, I still love it for the again idea of if anyone's gonna say you don't want to do this, honey, you don't know what's behind this sequence, I'm sure it would be Brett Saber.
• 42:57
SPEAKER_01: It would definitely be Britney Spears.
• 42:59
SPEAKER_01: I love you, Brett Saber.
• 43:00
  SPEAKER_01: I hope you're doing well.
• 43:02
SPEAKER_01: You know, I've always wanted those pink sparkly headphones.
• 43:05
SPEAKER_01: Every time I put them on at work, when I've worked and I'm on the call, I'm like, I'm Britney, bitch, because I love you.
• 43:11
SPEAKER_01: I think you should have trademarked that.
• 43:13
SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty much she should have pretty bad.
• 43:16
SPEAKER_01: Like, you made so much money.
• 43:18
SPEAKER_01: Well, I know your parents did.
• 43:20
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, next topic.
• 43:21
  SPEAKER_01: That's a whole thing.
• 43:22
  SPEAKER_01: Sad.
• 43:22
  SPEAKER_01: Tough topic.
• 43:23
  SPEAKER_00: Tough topic.
• 43:24
  SPEAKER_00: Hi, I'm Floogie.
• 43:25
  SPEAKER_01: Hi, Sophie.
• 43:26
  SPEAKER_01: Making an appearance.
• 43:27
  SPEAKER_01: You don't wear a hat.
• 43:28
SPEAKER_01: You can't sit with us.
• 43:30
SPEAKER_01: Skipy doesn't even go here.
• 43:31
SPEAKER_01: You don't even go here.
• 43:34
  SPEAKER_01: I love that.
• 43:35
  SPEAKER_01: My gosh.
• 43:36
  SPEAKER_01: All right.
• 43:36
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, what is next?
• 43:38
SPEAKER_01: I think we could uh did I off-rail you?
• 43:40
SPEAKER_01: Do you have any other things?
• 43:41
SPEAKER_00: No, that that was my final thought.
• 43:43
SPEAKER_00: Which is the anecdote about possibly being Britney Spears, but you never know.
• 43:47
  SPEAKER_00: I love that.
• 43:48
  SPEAKER_00: I do.
• 43:48
  SPEAKER_00: Hot tip.
• 43:49
SPEAKER_01: Still, my favorite song is Opalite.
• 43:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love that you love O Blight.
• 43:54
  SPEAKER_00: That's so good.
• 43:55
SPEAKER_01: I did like this one, but again, I just want something that once makes my body want to move.
• 44:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 44:02
SPEAKER_01: This one didn't make me want to like move, you know?
• 44:05
  SPEAKER_01: Like I love music.
• 44:06
SPEAKER_01: Party, but it It did hit well.
• 44:09
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 44:10
  SPEAKER_01: So I liked it.
• 44:11
SPEAKER_01: Well that's it felt positive.
• 44:13
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I feel like it is.
• 44:14
SPEAKER_00: Like we went through a journey with her.
• 44:16
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 44:17
SPEAKER_00: Uh speaking of journey, we're gonna take a little bit of a journey now.
• 44:20
  SPEAKER_00: Tone, different tone.
• 44:22
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 44:23
SPEAKER_00: So I don't even know how to go into this, but a showgirl that Jen loves.
• 44:28
  SPEAKER_00: A showgirl, yes.
• 44:29
SPEAKER_00: Showgirl that I've loved for a very long time.
• 44:33
SPEAKER_00: Really, she's a Wichita icon, but she's been to LA and back, she's been to Nashville and back.
• 44:40
SPEAKER_00: Um and yeah, sh it's oh my god, why?
• 44:45
  SPEAKER_00: Moment of silence.
• 44:46
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 44:47
SPEAKER_00: So Jenny Wood was a a Wichita icon.
• 44:52
  SPEAKER_00: She was Wichita's songbird.
• 44:54
SPEAKER_00: If you've ever heard her sing somewhere over the rainbow, oh my god, you will never forget it.
• 45:00
  SPEAKER_00: That's my favorite song.
• 45:02
SPEAKER_00: Oh, she sang it beautifully.
• 45:05
SPEAKER_00: She passed away over the weekend at the age of 43, and it was very sudden.
• 45:11
SPEAKER_00: And I am still just really trying.
• 45:14
SPEAKER_00: I found out this afternoon.
• 45:15
SPEAKER_00: A lot of people have known a lot longer than I have, but we had a busy weekend and I was not on social media very much, and so I just found out this afternoon from my husband when he called me to tell me.
• 45:26
SPEAKER_01: This is a woman you've spoken with me about that you've loved for years ever since I've known you.
• 45:32
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 45:32
SPEAKER_01: Um we had the I actually got to experience her music.
• 45:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, you did.
• 45:39
SPEAKER_01: She came out with me one night.
• 45:40
  SPEAKER_01: With Jen.
• 45:41
SPEAKER_01: So I think that that's beautiful that she is part of our story.
• 45:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 45:46
SPEAKER_01: And I think that we are probably one of many, many people that have made an amazing experience around her music and just in her presence.
• 45:57
SPEAKER_01: And I just remember having a blast and loving her music and you saying hi to her and her being so kind and sweet.
• 46:03
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 46:04
  SPEAKER_01: Always, always.
• 46:05
  SPEAKER_01: So welcoming.
• 46:06
SPEAKER_01: And she played at Barley Corns.
• 46:09
SPEAKER_01: And I we have a photo on my old Instagram of me like drinking out of Jen's drink while we were taking a photo together.
• 46:16
SPEAKER_01: And we were it was like over ten years ago.
• 46:19
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 46:21
  SPEAKER_01: So cute.
• 46:22
SPEAKER_01: And it's crazy, like that she's been one of you've been a fan of hers for so long, and I recognize the name because I've heard you speak so highly of her.
• 46:32
SPEAKER_00: And we went one that one time, so I don't have that much experience, but yeah, she she grew up in Wichita and she was very influential in the local music scene here.
• 46:44
  SPEAKER_00: She's so incredibly talented.
• 46:46
SPEAKER_00: She had her, so she did solo things.
• 46:49
  SPEAKER_00: She also had bands.
• 46:51
  SPEAKER_00: The oh my gosh.
• 46:54
SPEAKER_00: Her she had, I think she had kind of a program going on with USC259, where sometimes she would go into the schools, and she was very much into anti-bullying.
• 47:06
SPEAKER_00: There was one time, one Halloween night, I took the boys to eat at Ziggy's.
• 47:11
SPEAKER_00: They were probably like six or seven, maybe seven, eight.
• 47:13
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 47:14
SPEAKER_00: And I took them to eat at Ziggy's after we've been trick-or-treating, but then at Norton's she was singing that night.
• 47:19
  SPEAKER_00: Oh.
• 47:20
SPEAKER_00: And so after we ate at Ziggy's, I took the boys to Norton's with me.
• 47:25
SPEAKER_00: And she had she had all the kids that were in attendance to the concert.
• 47:30
SPEAKER_00: She invited them up on stage when she was singing I Am Not Scared, which is one, which is one of her more well-known songs.
• 47:38
SPEAKER_00: It was a beautiful moment.
• 47:40
SPEAKER_00: Nicholas, I my boys knew the song because I play it on my car my phone, although I have her music on my phone.
• 47:46
SPEAKER_00: That's how much I love her music.
• 47:48
SPEAKER_00: So my boys knew her songs, and they got up on the stage.
• 47:51
SPEAKER_00: So I had these videos of the boys on stage with her at Norton's for on Halloween night of all nights.
• 47:59
SPEAKER_00: But it's it's kind of cool because I've also hosted Jenny Wood on a former show, very similar to very incredibly similar to this show that I used to host out of the back of the hopping gnome for years.
• 48:13
SPEAKER_00: And it was when she was about to launch her latest album in 2018 called Truth Has Legs.
• 48:21
SPEAKER_00: And so she was on my Facebook Live show, and I got to interview her all about the show and her album launch, which was coming up.
• 48:30
SPEAKER_00: So we were yeah, we were promoting her new album and her album launch event that was held at the Crown Uptown, which is just down the street from my house.
• 48:40
SPEAKER_00: And it was it was just such a beautiful interview with her, as always.
• 48:44
SPEAKER_00: Like any conversation you ever had with Jenny Wood, beautiful conversation.
• 48:48
SPEAKER_00: She was a beautiful human.
• 48:50
SPEAKER_00: And but I remember I remember going to the Crown of Town and just being so in on.
• 48:55
SPEAKER_00: She had so many kids get up on stage with her, and she did this moment with them at that, even though it wasn't part of her new album, Truth Has Legs, it was one of her older songs, but she still had the kids get up on stage with her and sing I Am Not Scared, and it was so freaking beautiful.
• 49:12
SPEAKER_00: And that was not the last time that I ever saw her perform before her accident in 2019, but it was one of the last times that I saw her perform as she was before her accident.
• 49:26
SPEAKER_00: And it's so wild to think that that night, that night I was seeing Jenny Wood at the Crown Up Town.
• 49:32
SPEAKER_00: The very next night I was in Kansas City, Taylor So's reputation tour.
• 49:39
SPEAKER_00: It like both like it's crazy to me that it was back to back nights.
• 49:42
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, two showgirls in one night.
• 49:44
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, two showgirls, yeah, big week, big weekend.
• 49:48
  SPEAKER_00: So so iconic.
• 49:49
SPEAKER_00: Two freaking icons and one, like in two nights in a row.
• 49:52
SPEAKER_00: And I don't know, like, is there's just so much I could say about Jenny Wood.
• 49:56
SPEAKER_00: Floki can feel the emotion, he's over there contacting us.
• 50:00
SPEAKER_01: But I overall, I hope that any family left, you know, is just doing the same thing we are and sharing all the beautiful thoughts and memories.
• 50:09
SPEAKER_01: And I mean, you have a lot of really good ones that she helped create for you.
• 50:13
SPEAKER_01: So I am happy about that.
• 50:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 50:16
SPEAKER_01: Of course, she will be missed, but yeah, her music will live on.
• 50:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and we we can never forget that these local artists they they shape the soundtrack of our city.
• 50:26
SPEAKER_00: We're so blessed to have them.
• 50:28
SPEAKER_00: We have so many wonderful ones here in Wichita.
• 50:31
  SPEAKER_00: We do.
• 50:31
SPEAKER_00: And we we we are so incredibly blessed here in Wichita to have the musical scene that we do.
• 50:36
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_00: If you were part of Wichita's music scene back then, you you probably have a Jenny story too.
• 50:42
SPEAKER_00: So if you ever want to share that with us, we would absolutely love to know what that is.
• 50:46
  SPEAKER_00: It would.
• 50:46
  SPEAKER_00: So please share.
• 50:48
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so rest in peace, Jenny.
• 50:50
  SPEAKER_00: We miss you.
• 50:52
  SPEAKER_01: Love you.
• 50:53
  SPEAKER_01: Love you.
• 50:53
SPEAKER_01: Because we're to celebrate not only her life, but all of those around us that she's in.
• 50:59
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 50:59
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, like it's been a lot.
• 51:01
SPEAKER_00: Um, but so what is it though that about live music that really brings us together, do you think?
• 51:09
SPEAKER_01: Gosh, it does something not only mentally, but physically, to everyone, but everyone's body that's in the same room.
• 51:18
SPEAKER_01: I feel like, yeah, unless you're a sociopsychopath of some sort, you get the same feeling and experience.
• 51:27
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 51:27
SPEAKER_01: At least for the most part, even if it makes you think of different things, you're still feeling those vibrations and all the energy in the room is shared.
• 51:36
SPEAKER_01: Um, even if it's outside.
• 51:38
SPEAKER_01: And I guess, you know, even how I mentioned, you know, we have that photo from the concert at Jenny's concert that we went to together years ago.
• 51:48
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 51:48
SPEAKER_01: And it's so cool to be like.
• 51:51
SPEAKER_01: It's so cool to look at the photo and know that's who was playing.
• 51:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 51:56
SPEAKER_01: That's what was going on that night.
• 51:58
SPEAKER_01: There's so many things that make it special.
• 52:01
SPEAKER_01: I don't, you know, the moxie of the people on stage.
• 52:05
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
• 52:05
  SPEAKER_00: They bring like that.
• 52:06
SPEAKER_00: I feel like we feed off of their energy a lot of the time.
• 52:09
SPEAKER_01: And I think secretly everyone wants to be the people that are on stage.
• 52:12
SPEAKER_01: They just don't have to be able to do that.
• 52:14
SPEAKER_01: Or can we do that?
• 52:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's a lot to that.
• 52:16
SPEAKER_01: I would love to be able to do that, but I'm just not that talented in that way.
• 52:21
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, it's just true.
• 52:23
SPEAKER_00: It's so wild to think how they do really shape our memories, though, because like it's like I think it's gonna seem so silly, but we, you know, we love to go see Abandoned Kansas.
• 52:35
SPEAKER_00: And there's a song that they do, and every time I I freaking lose my mind.
• 52:41
SPEAKER_00: It's my favorite song that they do.
• 52:43
  SPEAKER_00: It's it's Teenage Dirtbag.
• 52:45
SPEAKER_00: And I love Teenage Dirtbag, but I love love it when Abandoned Kansas does it.
• 52:50
SPEAKER_00: They do it, they do it so good, and I always love it when he puts the like the shirt around his head and pretends to be the girl vocalist and you know what?
• 53:02
  SPEAKER_01: You're not wrong.
• 53:02
  SPEAKER_01: I that song's good.
• 53:04
SPEAKER_01: I like it for what it is, but then when they do it, I'm just like it's the moxie.
• 53:09
SPEAKER_01: They bring all of it to the stage, and you know what?
• 53:13
SPEAKER_01: No one can you can't have a good party without good music.
• 53:18
  SPEAKER_01: No, you can't.
• 53:19
SPEAKER_01: And what better just like a jukebox than people with energy on stage and live instruments?
• 53:25
  SPEAKER_01: It's so much different.
• 53:26
SPEAKER_01: I think it goes down to our roots, like to pots and pans and trash cans and banging on them, yeah, or to you know, mouth noises and belly noises around the fire pit, you know, like back in the day.
• 53:39
SPEAKER_01: Like we just that's how instruments were made.
• 53:41
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 53:42
SPEAKER_01: Like, how can we make this with wood?
• 53:44
  SPEAKER_01: What's at this screen?
• 53:46
  SPEAKER_00: Like, who knows?
• 53:47
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 53:48
SPEAKER_00: But like, even like, think about the memories that those kids have on stage with Jenny.
• 53:53
SPEAKER_00: Like, in the like whether they saw her at school or whether they got onto the big stage at Crown Uptown with her.
• 53:59
SPEAKER_00: I or my boys, like, I gosh, I haven't asked them about that in a long time, but it'd be interesting to know if they remember that.
• 54:06
SPEAKER_00: I have a feeling they probably do because it was kind of an iconic night.
• 54:10
SPEAKER_01: Well, music, just like smells, it triggers a different part of your brain.
• 54:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 54:16
SPEAKER_01: So that alone and it happening to everyone at the same time in the same room.
• 54:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 54:21
SPEAKER_01: I also feel like just like how they say people that can speak multiple languages live longer.
• 54:26
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 54:26
SPEAKER_01: It it accesses a different part of your brain that sh goes on and turns a light on in those different cells, you know, and for everybody to experience that all at once, I think is some even more powerful than we realize.
• 54:40
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 54:40
SPEAKER_01: As crazy as that might sound, like it just really does make sense and it resonates with you and it sticks with you longer because how often do those parts get truly triggered in that positive manner?
• 54:51
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 54:51
SPEAKER_01: You know, just like how and that and in also the opposite way.
• 54:56
SPEAKER_01: That's also why, like, you know, maybe some veterans or people that have been through poor experiences hear fireworks and and physically have panic attacks.
• 55:04
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 55:05
SPEAKER_01: This is the flip side positive version of that in a way.
• 55:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 55:09
SPEAKER_01: You know, because whenever I'm at a concert, I'm not just feeling that concert, I'm having all the fun that I had at the other concerts.
• 55:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 55:17
SPEAKER_01: And other live music experiences in a way.
• 55:19
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 55:19
  SPEAKER_00: You know?
• 55:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's very like it can be incredibly healing.
• 55:23
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 55:24
SPEAKER_00: Like just experiencing that in a group of people, whether you're like there experiencing it by yourself, but with surrounded by so many other people.
• 55:33
SPEAKER_00: Like that's why they do sound baths.
• 55:35
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 55:36
  SPEAKER_00: It's so cheap.
• 55:37
SPEAKER_01: It turns the same part of the brain, it's just a different pattern.
• 55:41
  SPEAKER_00: It's a kind of therapy.
• 55:42
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 55:43
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 55:43
SPEAKER_00: Music is therapeutic and energy is therapeutic.
• 55:46
SPEAKER_00: And like when you mix the two together, holy cow.
• 55:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, because I have gone like a month or two without any live music, even locally.
• 55:53
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, and I I literally vocalized it probably new.
• 55:57
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I really need to go to a concert.
• 55:58
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 55:59
  SPEAKER_01: I yeah, I can't imagine not going.
• 56:02
SPEAKER_01: I really need to hear music live.
• 56:04
SPEAKER_01: Like, I just need to.
• 56:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 56:06
SPEAKER_01: And and even you and I when we moved to Christmas Eve Eve.
• 56:09
SPEAKER_01: We were writing a high for today.
• 56:10
SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I love Christmas Eve at the public in the brickyard, guys.
• 56:14
SPEAKER_00: If you've ever been, oh, you need to go.
• 56:17
SPEAKER_00: All of those local artists together, just oh my gosh.
• 56:21
SPEAKER_00: I know we can't shut up about it.
• 56:23
  SPEAKER_00: Still, I'm so excited.
• 56:23
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I love Wichita music music scene.
• 56:26
  SPEAKER_00: So incredible.
• 56:27
  SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
• 56:27
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 56:27
  SPEAKER_00: To answer your question.
• 56:29
  SPEAKER_00: So much emotion.
• 56:31
SPEAKER_00: All of these iconic nights in Wichita and everywhere else.
• 56:35
SPEAKER_00: Like, I know that like it goes as far as like, you know, Taylor So's the Earestour.
• 56:40
SPEAKER_00: Like it met like so many people.
• 56:42
SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm sorry, but it's a lot better of experience for me to just pay 35 bucks and go to a local concert with amazing musicians that sure they might never make it, quote unquote.
• 56:54
SPEAKER_01: Oh god, no, but they made it in our hearts.
• 56:56
SPEAKER_01: They made it in our hearts.
• 56:57
SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say, oh my god.
• 57:00
SPEAKER_01: You made it with me.
• 57:01
  SPEAKER_01: That's all I need.
• 57:03
SPEAKER_00: But but yeah, I feel like with with the ears tour, they like so many people, thousands, tens of thousands, 80,000 people gathered in these arenas and didn't know each other, were exchanging friendship bracelets over this one thing that they have in common.
• 57:19
SPEAKER_00: And if you watch the Earl tour, like if you ever watched it on Disney Plus, what if you didn't get to go to the concerts, you'll see just people, complete strangers, experiencing this phenomenon together.
• 57:31
  SPEAKER_00: That's enough.
• 57:32
SPEAKER_00: As a type of therapy, yeah, right?
• 57:34
  SPEAKER_01: Because it's it's uniting, it's uniting, exactly.
• 57:37
SPEAKER_01: It's like sharing a meal, sharing a drink, sharing a musical experience.
• 57:42
  SPEAKER_01: It's the same thing.
• 57:43
SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's like let's all gather around the fire, yes, like and talk about the same things that we're experiencing and enjoy this meal.
• 57:51
SPEAKER_01: Like that's how it is, but in like show time kind of format, you know what I mean?
• 57:57
  SPEAKER_01: Because we've technology's grown so much.
• 57:59
SPEAKER_01: I think it goes back to our roots.
• 58:00
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 58:01
SPEAKER_01: Of like these are the things that bring us together.
• 58:03
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're fighting?
• 58:04
SPEAKER_01: Let's turn on some music.
• 58:05
  SPEAKER_01: It changes the mind.
• 58:07
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it really does.
