- 0:05Speaker 1: And here we go third and final hour at least
- 0:09Speaker 1: for today at the Morning Show with Preston, Scott, Grant
- 0:11Speaker 1: Allen in for me tomorrow and Monday, I will be
- 0:15Speaker 1: doing a speech tomorrow, I will be delivering remarks. But
- 0:20Speaker 1: great to be with you today, Jose over there in
- 0:22Speaker 1: Studio one A. I am here in Studio one B,
- 0:24Speaker 1: and I am joined on the phone line by our friend.
- 0:26Speaker 1: He is Jerome Hudson. He's the author of the Fifty
- 0:28Speaker 1: Things books as well as entertainment editor for Breitbart dot Com. Hello,
- 0:32Speaker 1: my friend, how are you.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Oh? I'm terrific, just trying to figure out where this
- 0:38Speaker 2: magnificent speech is going down at.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I cannot say on the air at this point in time.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It is a private gathering, but I will share with
- 0:52Speaker 1: you in the break. Hey, we were just talking before
- 0:56Speaker 1: the top of the hour about the WNBA doing a
- 1:01Speaker 1: little investigation of the claim of Angel Reese, who I
- 1:04Speaker 1: find to be a remarkably arrogant, average talented young lady
- 1:12Speaker 1: that has a massive problem with Caitlin Clark and her popularity,
- 1:20Speaker 1: but that she claimed that she was being racially attacked
- 1:24Speaker 1: verbally assaulted at a game in Indiana. But the w
- 1:28Speaker 1: n b A after a thorough investigation interviews, video, audio,
- 1:31Speaker 1: found no corroboration.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Stunning, Well, but but is it?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Well, I don't know, I I have It's been a
- 1:44Speaker 2: couple of years since I've attended an NBA game, and
- 1:49Speaker 2: I mean you hear just about everything, uh paniply forejoratives
- 1:55Speaker 2: if you will, and but the but the the w
- 2:00Speaker 2: n b A not being able to find evidence of it.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I thought that was interesting because usually when a player
- 2:07Speaker 2: certainly a star, which regardless of what you think of
- 2:11Speaker 2: Angelisi as a star, and that w n b A
- 2:13Speaker 2: is even huh, I agree, yeah, yeah, Usually when a
- 2:19Speaker 2: start makes a complaint and you see this more often
- 2:21Speaker 2: than the NBA, to the league, the ownership, wherever the
- 2:27Speaker 2: game is played, it's a they it's all hands on deck,
- 2:31Speaker 2: and usually they identify the culprit. They're either band for
- 2:35Speaker 2: life or reprimanded in some other way. I so that
- 2:41Speaker 2: was interesting to me. I love this because Caitlin Clark,
- 2:47Speaker 2: I think he is certainly sort of the nexus, the
- 2:50Speaker 2: spark if you will, that lit this fire of just
- 2:54Speaker 2: basically NonStop w n b A talk like the w
- 3:00Speaker 2: nb agment around for decades, but it's never been in
- 3:02Speaker 2: the culturalite guys like this. I love the feuds. I
- 3:05Speaker 2: love I love it for commerce. I think Jacksonville is
- 3:09Speaker 2: getting a w NBA team in a couple of years,
- 3:11Speaker 2: like which is a sentence. I've only been here almost
- 3:15Speaker 2: a decade. I know people who've lived in this town
- 3:19Speaker 2: for forever, and that sentence is just unfathomable and so
- 3:25Speaker 2: but but I love the Angel Reese, uh Caitlin Clark
- 3:30Speaker 2: a few because it does date back to college, you
- 3:32Speaker 2: know what I mean? In that sense, it's sort of uh,
- 3:36Speaker 2: magic bird if you will. But no, I mean, Andrew
- 3:39Speaker 2: Reese is nice, but but she's she just doesn't have
- 3:41Speaker 2: the skill set of Caitlin Clark. And I love that
- 3:45Speaker 2: the media coverage for the both of them is different.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I don't appreciate the racial aspect of it being put in,
- 3:54Speaker 2: but I don't.
- 3:54Speaker 1: And that's what I wanted to I wanted to drill
- 3:58Speaker 1: into that point for a second, and and we'll do that.
- 4:01Speaker 1: We've got to take a break here, but I want
- 4:03Speaker 1: to do that, Jerome. I want to ask if this
- 4:07Speaker 1: story needs to get more coverage for just that reason,
- 4:11Speaker 1: the fact that the claim was made and it has
- 4:13Speaker 1: not been corroborated. We're gonna we're gonna touch on that next.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Jerome Hudson with me, always a fun conversation. We have
- 4:21Speaker 1: no idea what we're talking about until we just start talking,
- 4:24Speaker 1: because that's what friends do, they just start talking. Jerome,
- 4:29Speaker 1: I remember back number of years ago because I would
- 4:33Speaker 1: spend time talking about the claims of racism that were unfounded.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And this goes back to Duke Lacrosse, right, I mean,
- 4:43Speaker 1: this goes back, and they are these constant accusations made,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and frequently, too frequently, they are found to be made
- 4:54Speaker 1: up or if if that perpetrated by the very people
- 4:59Speaker 1: claiming to be racially attacked. And I've always believed that
- 5:03Speaker 1: it denigrates the true racism that needs to be called
- 5:06Speaker 1: out wherever and whenever it exists. So is there a
- 5:11Speaker 1: responsibility on the part of the media to cover the
- 5:15Speaker 1: fact that this claim was made and there is nothing
- 5:18Speaker 1: to it.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Oh that the media coverage should be equal right to
- 5:27Speaker 2: the thorough investigation again yep. And I don't know if
- 5:33Speaker 2: I've seen any conspiracy theories around this. You know, all
- 5:38Speaker 2: of the w NBA's just trying to cover it up
- 5:40Speaker 2: because they want to, you know, protect Caitlin Clark and
- 5:43Speaker 2: make Angel Reeves look like the boogeyman. It is that again,
- 5:48Speaker 2: I haven't seen it, but I'm sure it's probably out there.
- 5:51Speaker 2: It is completely non cypsical. The w n B a
- 5:54Speaker 2: again is on a meteoric rise, I mean the arrow
- 5:58Speaker 2: or the Q score. It's all going straight up. And again,
- 6:04Speaker 2: ader Reese is a star like she's on podcasts's on runways,
- 6:09Speaker 2: d w NBA. It is in the w NBA's interest
- 6:11Speaker 2: to protect its assets.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Well, it's about time the NBA made some money off
- 6:16Speaker 1: of it, because they've been backrolling this as a I mean,
- 6:19Speaker 1: it's been a lost leader since it started. It hasn't
- 6:22Speaker 1: made any money, and it's showing signs of making some.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I'm just I laugh because there are a lot of nameless,
- 6:30Speaker 2: faceless like sort of non celebrity billionaires who've just who
- 6:33Speaker 2: just I mean, they they would have they would have
- 6:36Speaker 2: gotten more out of just burning the millions of dollars
- 6:39Speaker 2: that they've thrown at this league. But no, it's a
- 6:42Speaker 2: it's an absolute just there's nothing. I mean, I just
- 6:48Speaker 2: for the reasons that she pointed out, like just talking
- 6:51Speaker 2: racism or looking for it behind every tree and under
- 6:55Speaker 2: every rock just does us no good as a society large.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And the fact that this, like she claimed that racial
- 7:06Speaker 2: epithets were her old at her, makes it a race story,
- 7:13Speaker 2: which I just just it's just gross to me, right, Like,
- 7:16Speaker 2: I don't even really feel comfortable talking about it, because finally,
- 7:20Speaker 2: the league has so much more to offer, right. I
- 7:24Speaker 2: say this as a person who fell in love with
- 7:26Speaker 2: women's basketball. It wasn't pro level, but watching the FSU
- 7:30Speaker 2: women's girls team play, we're talking circle two thousand and eight,
- 7:35Speaker 2: nine to ten. You know, here's my thing. President, Like,
- 7:40Speaker 2: I was showing up to see the boys play, right
- 7:44Speaker 2: because they were kind of on a run those years,
- 7:48Speaker 2: but getting to the games, getting to the men's games
- 7:50Speaker 2: before they started, the women were playing, and it just
- 7:53Speaker 2: felt like a completely different sport almost, to see the
- 7:57Speaker 2: women compete like that. And so I I love, you know,
- 8:02Speaker 2: for for for deeper reasons, to see the w n
- 8:05Speaker 2: B a thrive. I just hate that it sort of
- 8:07Speaker 2: has this this weird specter over it because I know
- 8:11Speaker 2: people want to see the feud singing Clark uh and
- 8:14Speaker 2: Read and rees, but the Rachel stuff just well.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Some want to see the feud.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I just want them to just play basketball, and and
- 8:27Speaker 1: and for the w n b A, and for some
- 8:29Speaker 1: of these girls to realize that the rising tide of
- 8:33Speaker 1: the w n b A is due to Caitlin Clark
- 8:37Speaker 1: and they should be grateful and accepting and then compete
- 8:40Speaker 1: like crazy to beat her.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Yeah. No, we we we don't. We don't deserve nice things.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I think is a is a long running beame. It's
- 8:52Speaker 2: like one of the longest memes out there, you know,
- 8:57Speaker 2: or what is it? Don't let a gift horses the mouth?
- 9:01Speaker 2: We get we we have these true talents that come
- 9:05Speaker 2: from around every now and then, and for a lot
- 9:09Speaker 2: of reasons. I mean, sports is just different, right, Like
- 9:12Speaker 2: I mean, you just it's inherently tribal, I guess. And
- 9:16Speaker 2: so I don't have a dog in the race, which
- 9:19Speaker 2: is why, like I'm I think I'm coming at it
- 9:22Speaker 2: from the same place you're coming at it. This is
- 9:24Speaker 2: just we should just enjoy this, this greatness, I.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Agree or not, right, I just want to be embraced
- 9:33Speaker 1: in the NBA where I've got a shot at making
- 9:35Speaker 1: a team.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So Alexander Marlow, the Bretbart News Entertainment editor in chief,
- 9:42Speaker 2: he wants like a d one basketball team Preston to
- 9:47Speaker 2: just put a bunch of dudes in wigs and just
- 9:51Speaker 2: just run the table there in the in the women's
- 9:55Speaker 2: college champions I just want, but basically.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I just want fair rep presentation in all sports of
- 10:02Speaker 1: white old males. Twenty two past the Hour, JOm Hudson
- 10:12Speaker 1: Brightbart dot Com entertainment editor. We never ever have enough time.
- 10:16Speaker 1: The only chance we're going to ever have enough time
- 10:19Speaker 1: is if you just come back into town and we
- 10:21Speaker 1: just sit in the studio and.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Talk yes, yes, which will happen certainly, God will will.
- 10:28Speaker 3: You say that to all the talk show hosts. I think.
- 10:32Speaker 2: That's see your phone.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Your phone broke. Your phone broke down right then when
- 10:39Speaker 3: I said.
- 10:39Speaker 1: That, And so I didn't catch what you said because
- 10:42Speaker 1: I don't think God wanted you to say that.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Well, it was it true. I just remember to have
- 10:47Speaker 2: a standing date on Tuesday morning with the Liz Cowily
- 10:52Speaker 2: show out in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and they've been
- 10:56Speaker 2: trying to get me in person to do a show.
- 11:00Speaker 2: So so you.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Just backhandedly told me you're seeing another talk show host.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Well, oh my goodness. I did two dadits Thursday and
- 11:14Speaker 2: Friday last week man.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Just stab me, buddy, Just go ahead and take out them,
- 11:20Speaker 1: Just drive it in and twist it. Hey, let me
- 11:23Speaker 1: ask you this. How is it possible that Jean Paul
- 11:31Speaker 1: Gautier mm hmm hires a dude to sell women's perfume?
- 11:37Speaker 1: And we're not talking about a guy dressed as a man,
- 11:40Speaker 1: who's who's walking through a room and tries to discern
- 11:44Speaker 1: what is that scent? Right, We're talking about someone pretending
- 11:49Speaker 1: to be a woman.
- 11:50Speaker 3: How is this possible?
- 11:52Speaker 1: How is it that women are not just fuming at this?
- 11:58Speaker 2: I think there is that. I think there's a part
- 12:01Speaker 2: of society. I've had questions with countless women, and the
- 12:07Speaker 2: responses vary. Right, there's confusion because if you're a woman
- 12:13Speaker 2: in you know, a lot of them are millennials, right,
- 12:16Speaker 2: so like born basically mid eighties. This is this you're
- 12:21Speaker 2: still processing this because you know, a transgender person was
- 12:29Speaker 2: sort of a thing that comedians joked about or or
- 12:33Speaker 2: they played them on TV. Jamie Fox on and Living Color,
- 12:37Speaker 2: Martin Lawrence on his shows you know what's his name? Witherspoon,
- 12:44Speaker 2: the comedian back to the sixties and seventies, you know,
- 12:46Speaker 2: like cross dressing, was it it was like transvestite was
- 12:51Speaker 2: a person who really took it seriously. And so this
- 12:54Speaker 2: is still a phenomenon newly to just normal regular women
- 12:57Speaker 2: out there, but for industry, for corporations, this is a
- 13:01Speaker 2: big money grab. I mean, to be transgender, to be
- 13:04Speaker 2: a transgender model, which Jean Paul Gaultier hired. It's a
- 13:08Speaker 2: cottage industry and it's I can't believe I'm about to
- 13:13Speaker 2: say this, but it's a growth market.
- 13:16Speaker 4: No and no, no, Look, I don't want it to
- 13:22Speaker 4: be true, but you have to face facts like there
- 13:24Speaker 4: there's a s section of society.
- 13:26Speaker 1: But who is going to buy this perfume for a
- 13:30Speaker 1: woman sold by a man.
- 13:33Speaker 2: That's that's not the question that I think these high
- 13:36Speaker 2: powered attorneys and accountants and pr flax are asking press
- 13:41Speaker 2: and I think they're asking who won't buy this this
- 13:45Speaker 2: this perfume? Who would have otherwise bought it anyway if
- 13:48Speaker 2: we if we hired I don't know Serena Williams.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Did they did? They not look at what happened to
- 13:54Speaker 1: bud Light. Now I understand that bud Light is it.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I mean, we're talking about reaching out to men versus women, right, and.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It's a completely different product. Right, it's a it's American
- 14:05Speaker 2: college rush.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Beer, but it's a dude selling a women's perfume by
- 14:10Speaker 1: pretending to be a woman.
- 14:12Speaker 2: So so so, Dylan mulvaney is maybe a part of
- 14:17Speaker 2: this campaign. It's unclear. I haven't really completely dug into
- 14:24Speaker 2: it with my OGAI RESEARCHERR Brain, but Dylan mulvaney has
- 14:29Speaker 2: at least attached himself to Gean Gultierra and this perfume.
- 14:35Speaker 2: But I'm just, I'm just I'm just telling you right,
- 14:38Speaker 2: Like most of the people listening to us right now
- 14:42Speaker 2: don't get it. They don't understand it. But what I'm
- 14:44Speaker 2: telling you is that major corporations have run the numbers
- 14:49Speaker 2: and it is advantageous. Levi's just rolled out their Pride
- 14:53Speaker 2: Month gene set like I have. I've had this thing.
- 14:59Speaker 2: We have two editor calls every day at break part
- 15:01Speaker 2: and I'm just when I talk about the Pride stuff
- 15:05Speaker 2: and the LGBTQ pregnant man emoji stuff, I preface it
- 15:09Speaker 2: by saying I have some Pride Month every month content,
- 15:13Speaker 2: because that is that's just the way I look at it.
- 15:18Speaker 2: No one listening to me has to see it that way.
- 15:21Speaker 2: But I'm sort of an always on News Knows entertainment editor,
- 15:26Speaker 2: and so I'm either always looking for this stuff or
- 15:30Speaker 2: it's always finding me. And it's Pride Month every.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Month, you know whatever.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Whatever, Get on board, baby, No, no, I will not
- 15:40Speaker 1: get on board. I will never ever, in fact, in fact,
- 15:43Speaker 1: I will go. I will go so far as to say,
- 15:46Speaker 1: I can promise you those letters are in are in
- 15:49Speaker 1: the Book of Revelation.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Just saying all right, buddy, love you pal, thanks for
- 15:55Speaker 3: the time.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I love you all right.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Jerome Hudson with us this morning in the Morning Show
- 16:00Speaker 3: with Preston Scott
