- 2:36SPEAKER_05: Dude, he would be dead by now, and schools weren't when dinosaurs were there.
- 2:41SPEAKER_05: Or you would have a dinosaur for a teacher.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: What what else?
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Oh, I uh I I was in elementary school from like 2001 to 2000 well, I was earlier than that.

- 3:37SPEAKER_05: Yes, please.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Well, first of all, Mabel, can you describe what this looks like?
- 3:42SPEAKER_05: Video games.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: It is a video game, but what's unique about it?
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: What do you see on the controller that's unique?
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: You don't know?
- 3:53unknown: Oh no.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 3:54SPEAKER_05: You're just gonna say you don't know the whole time.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Pretty much.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: She's probably gonna be that way.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Alright, Gino, do you have an idea what this is?
- 4:02SPEAKER_05: Well, technically it's not about what it is, but it's something that I see on it.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: What is it?
- 4:06SPEAKER_05: Has its own screen on it.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Has a screen on the controller.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: That's called a VCU.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: It had its own little mini game inside the controller.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: This friends is called the Sega Dreamcast.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: The Sega Dreamcast.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I really wanted one.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Yep, that's where it came from.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: That was their last console they made by themselves.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: It was very popular.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: You could play Sonic on it.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: It was super cool.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Alright, you ready?
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Now it's you guys have your own computers in school, right?
- 4:34unknown: Yes.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Well now listen to this.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Now, back in my day, we had computer labs, and we had these types of computers in them.
- 4:43SPEAKER_05: What?
- 4:43SPEAKER_05: A Sigma.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Do you know what this is?
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Do you know what type of computer this is?
- 4:48SPEAKER_05: No.
- 4:52SPEAKER_05: Is it Windows?
- 4:52SPEAKER_05: Not anybody.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: This is not a Windows computer.
- 4:55SPEAKER_05: Chrome.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: This this is not, this is a iMac O1.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: This is an Apple computer.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: And we had hundreds of these.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And you can actually see.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Do you see the little slot in front?
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: Do you know what that's for?
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: Oh, to put my consoles in.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: No, that's for CDs.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: CD ROMs.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: They were like little computer software things.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: But we had a whole bunch of these.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: We had to go to a lab to use a computer.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: We couldn't use it at our classroom.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: It was like a big deal to go to the lab.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Alright, now what do you guys do at recess?
- 5:25SPEAKER_05: Uh really just play with my friends and basketball.
- 5:28SPEAKER_05: And gaga ball.
- 5:29SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Gaga ball?
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Well tag.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, here was my gaga ball when I was in school.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Do you guys know what this game is?
- 5:36SPEAKER_05: What the?
- 5:37SPEAKER_05: Oh, I know.
- 5:37SPEAKER_05: I've seen that at a park I went to before.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Do you know what it's called?
- 5:40SPEAKER_05: No, I don't know the name, but I played it.
- 5:42SPEAKER_05: We gotta like pass it to each other.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: This is called this is called tetherball.
- 5:48unknown: Oh yeah.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: So it was a it was a ball and it was attached to the pole and you'd have to hit it back and forth.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: And if you got a good thing, if you wrapped it all the way around, you won.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: And we used to have like these major competitions with it.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: It was fun.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Do you think you could play that?
- 6:06SPEAKER_05: Oh, I've played it before.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: You've played it before?
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: So, do you what do you think about my elementary school stuff?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Do you think you would have liked it?
- 6:12SPEAKER_05: Yes, yes.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: The old Roblox?
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: There is no old Roblox.
- 6:18SPEAKER_05: Yes, there was.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Roblox was not a thing in my day.
- 6:20SPEAKER_05: Maybe.
- 6:21SPEAKER_05: Yes, it was.
- 6:22SPEAKER_05: Nah, I think it came out in 2021.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's that.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: So, would you want to play a Sega Dreamcast, Mabel?
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Gio, would you want to use an iMac 01?
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Don't mess with that, Sharia.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: You're making an echo.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Yes?
- 6:40unknown: Nah.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Shariah, would you you would you play, would you play Tetherball with someone?
- 6:45unknown: Yeah.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Well, all right.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: What do we want to tell the quality listeners?
- 6:49SPEAKER_05: Have a quality day.
- 6:51SPEAKER_05: Stay quality.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: And happy birthday, Gio.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: Except when you're listening to this, it probably will already be over.
- 6:57unknown: Uh.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Alright, we're doing more fun facts.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: We've got some fourth graders doing our podcast.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: This is their last day of podcasting, so they're going to do their final.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: They don't know what their final is.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: Sad face.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: But it's going to be some quizzes.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Fourth grade friends, I want your opinions on something.
- 7:16SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: So I have been so I had a friend who also does something similar to what I do, and he asked his student, he showed his students um pictures of stuff that was super popular when he was in fourth grade.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: I'm going to show you a picture of one of these things, and I want you to tell me what you think of it.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: That's all I gotta do.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: It's pretty easy, right?
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: I'm going to show you.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: I'm going to show you three pictures.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Now, all of these were some of the top um Christmas gift.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Were the some of the top Christmas gifts of the time.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: I'm going to show you actually just two of them to start, and then I'm going to show you something else here in a minute.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: Alright, you ready?
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: This was the top Christmas gift in 2001 when I was in fourth grade.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Alright?
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Oh God.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Do you know what this is?
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Ready?
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 8:16SPEAKER_05: It's a Game Boy.
- 8:18SPEAKER_05: Oh.
- 8:18SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's cool.
- 8:19SPEAKER_05: I love those.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Do you know what?
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: So that is a Game Boy.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: You are correct.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: It is a Game Boy.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Do you know what type of.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: But do you know what type of Game Boy this is?
- 8:32SPEAKER_06: A see-through one?
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: A see-through one?
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: This is a Game Boy Advanced.
- 8:39SPEAKER_05: I honestly don't even know what a Game Boy is.
- 8:42SPEAKER_05: My brother has Game Boys and he plays Pokemon on them.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Well, we play Pokemon on these too, but this is a Game Boy Advance.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: Now, when I was growing up, I had a Game Boy first, and then I had a Game Boy Advance.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: This was, and this thing was a big deal.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Do you want to know why?
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: It wasn't because of graphics.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: It wasn't because of games, because the screen lit up.
- 9:04SPEAKER_05: Oh my it finally lights up.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: And you could play it in the dark.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: And it would light up.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Because the original Game Boy didn't have a screen.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: You had to actually get things plugged in to like make a light.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: So when you wanted to play at night.
- 9:16SPEAKER_05: I have this um like it's this Pac-Man arcade.
- 9:21SPEAKER_05: And it it's like one of those.
- 9:23SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 9:24SPEAKER_05: But would you play it?
- 9:25SPEAKER_05: It just has pictures, and then it will like make the pictures darker.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Now that was actually the number one gift among boys in 2001.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And I did get a game Boy Advance.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: I was very happy.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Mine was mine was white.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: I didn't get the C2.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Alright, this was the number one gift for girls in 2001.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: I want you to guess what you think this is.
- 9:46SPEAKER_05: Pads.
- 9:48SPEAKER_05: No.
- 9:49SPEAKER_05: That's a journal.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Not a pass, Veronica.
- 9:53SPEAKER_05: It says a journal.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: It's a journal.
- 9:55SPEAKER_05: That's a journal?
- 9:57SPEAKER_05: Why is it that shape?
- 9:58SPEAKER_06: Why is it so sweet?
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: It's called a password journal.
- 10:03SPEAKER_06: A password journal?
- 10:04SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: So what it was was it was like a metal, it was like a plastic box, and you had to have a password to unlock it.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Would you are you impressed with that?
- 10:15SPEAKER_05: Actually, yes, because people try to dig in my diaries all the time.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Did you do you do a lot of writing?
- 10:21SPEAKER_05: Yes, I do.
- 10:22SPEAKER_05: I know I believe it.
- 10:23SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 10:24SPEAKER_05: I have like a diary with the lock and key.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Well, this one you had to have a password.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: It was really cool.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: It was pretty advanced for the time, actually.
- 10:31SPEAKER_06: If I was born like when that was made, password or did you?
- 10:34SPEAKER_06: Yeah, to speak it.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was a big deal.
- 10:37SPEAKER_06: Well then people would know.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: But it only worked on your voice, though.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: It didn't work on anyone else's voice.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: So even if you learn the password, it was only that.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: It was a pretty big deal in 2001.
- 10:47SPEAKER_06: If I was born when that was made, I wouldn't need it because I don't have secrets.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Well, so Alright, and then the number one gift of 2001, and I never got one of these, is this thing.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: I want you to tell me what you think this thing is.
- 11:01SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 11:02SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 11:03SPEAKER_06: Oh my gosh.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: It is not an Xbox.
- 11:05SPEAKER_06: Oh my gosh.
- 11:06SPEAKER_06: A PlayStation?
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: It's not a PlayStation.
- 11:09SPEAKER_05: It's not gonna be one of those.
- 11:10SPEAKER_05: But it looks like something to play.
- 11:12SPEAKER_05: It is a video game system.
- 11:15SPEAKER_05: You like pull that It's not a Nintendo screen.
- 11:18SPEAKER_05: I'm sorry, I'm excited.
- 11:20SPEAKER_05: Is that like a screen you can pull up to watch it?
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: Ooh, that's a good question.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: That's where actually the disc goes.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: That little space right there.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: That's where the disc goes.
- 11:28SPEAKER_05: So does it is it on that tiny?
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: No, you had to plug it into a TV to play it.
- 11:33SPEAKER_05: Oh, do you play it on this TV?
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: You play it on a TV, yep.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: This is called a Sega Dreamcast.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: This was Sega's last console they ever made, and this was super popular.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: You see that little like video on the controller?
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: They came with these little cards that if you put it in, that's where you kept your memory.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: And then it's also had little mini games inside the cards.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: It was very cool.
- 11:54SPEAKER_05: So it's kind of like that was their last game controller before they started making video games.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Well, they already they had made video games, but they stopped making consoles because that it was just too expensive.
- 12:07SPEAKER_05: Discontinue for materials.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: So do you think you would have survived in 2001 if those were the most popular games?
- 12:13SPEAKER_05: Actually, yes, I would.
- 12:14SPEAKER_05: I'd like three of them.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: You would have gotten all three?
- 12:17SPEAKER_05: Well, I kind of probably, but I would probably be bored out of my mind also.
- 12:24SPEAKER_05: Then read a book.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: This was wonderful, guys.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Um, make sure you stay koality.
- 12:31SPEAKER_05: Stay koality.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: All right, more 2001.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: So we've got more fourth graders.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: We've got Elliot Kingston and Hazael in the studio.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: Good to see you guys.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: This is their fourth grade final day of podcasting, so they are having some fun.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: We're throwing it back to when Mr.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: Martone was a first uh fourth grader in 2001.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: So in your segment, we're talking about TV shows, okay?
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Now, unlike you guys who have unlimited YouTube access, I had to wait and watch TV shows on uh regular on a regular TV.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: And um I watched a couple of shows pretty um often.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: So what are some of the shows you guys watch now?
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Like what are what are some of the shows you watch now?
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: Go ahead, uh Elliot, you start first.
- 13:24SPEAKER_04: Shows I watch now is like I don't really know.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: You don't really know.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: What what do what do you watch shows on?
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:33SPEAKER_04: And then I play video games.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, what do you El um K what do you watch on?

- 14:42SPEAKER_00: This is Dexter's Laboratory.
- 14:44SPEAKER_05: I've never seen it.
- 14:45SPEAKER_05: I saw one of them.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: Have you seen pictures of this before?
- 14:48SPEAKER_05: Yes, I have.
- 14:49SPEAKER_05: No, I don't.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: What's do you know what it's about?
- 14:52SPEAKER_05: I think it's like science things.
- 14:55SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 14:55SPEAKER_05: No, it's inventions that he made.
- 14:57SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: Kind of.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: So this is a story about a boy, and he's super smart, and he builds a laboratory inside his house, and his parents don't know about it, but his little annoying sister his older annoying sister just messes with him, and they just get into a whole bunch of shenanigans, and it's just very fun.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: It was a very fun show.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: He had like robots and stuff like that.
- 15:15SPEAKER_05: It sounds like Johnny Test.
- 15:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Similar to Johnny Tess, yes.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Very, very similar, but a little bit more, it was a little bit more silly and stuff like that.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: There was a whole bunch of like mini shows in there as well.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: It was very good.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Would you watch Dexter's Laboratory?
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: I would.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: It sounds interesting.
- 15:30SPEAKER_05: I used to love to watch Johnny Test.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.

- 15:37SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: Now, here's another one.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: My friends and I would quote this show on the playground all the time.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: Do you know what this show is?
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Okay, Hazel, what is this show?

- 15:51SPEAKER_00: You don't know?
- 15:51SPEAKER_05: No.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: What is it?
- 15:52SPEAKER_05: Fairy Godparents.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: No, it's not Fairy Godparents.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: The name of the show is actually the Fairly Odd Parents.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: So this is a story about Timmy Turner, and he's this miserable little boy, and he gets these he gets Cosmo and Wanda, these fairies that give Randy's wishes, but they're terrible.
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: They made a new one.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: I've seen that.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: The 2026 resin, there's a little girl named Hazel.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Yep, and they have to do a lot of fun things, they do a lot of jokes and things.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: It's quite funny.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: It's a very funny show.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: If you've never watched it.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Now, this last one, I don't think you've probably ever seen, but there are a lot of memes from this show currently in circulation.

- 16:42SPEAKER_02: Yep, that's a good one.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: That's all.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're right.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: That's all from so like shows that I watch, like the I think it's funny now that there are memes that you guys have.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Like, you don't think you can handle the neutron style.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: That's from an episode.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: It's a very funny episode.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: So he's super smart.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: You understand something crazy though?
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: So Fairy Odd, this was like a big deal in like 2002.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: The Fairly Odd Parents and Jimmy Neutron did a uh crossover episode where Jimmy went to Fairy Odd Parents universe and Timmy went to the Jimmy Neutron universe.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: It's very funny.
- 17:15SPEAKER_05: Is it can you still watch it?
- 17:17SPEAKER_05: I'm sure you could find it somewhere, but it's not on Netflix.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: I don't think it's on Netflix, but um I think it was called like the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: It was like an hour long and it was yeah, yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_00: It was here, I'll show you guys here.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Bam.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Look at this picture.
- 17:32SPEAKER_05: I still want to see it.
- 17:33SPEAKER_05: It's just like I can't.
- 17:34SPEAKER_05: It sounds cool.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: It was very cool.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: It was very cool.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Um they did like a whole, like, you know how like they do like cross-universe movies now, like with Marvel.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: They were they were doing this in 2000.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Like Looney Tunes and LeBron Jimmy.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: Neutron style.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: So, like, yeah, look, they did they did this the Jimmy Timmy Power hour.
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: That looks cool.
- 17:52SPEAKER_05: That looks cool.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Or they did it.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: It's pretty cool.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: So, all right.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: So, do you think you could have watched shows in 2001?
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, yes, those shows.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: I can relate to the Dexter thing.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: I saw like a skit of it, and I can watch Very Odd Parents.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you guys so much, and remember to stay quality.
- 18:11SPEAKER_07: Stay quality.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: Actually, this one.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's another one.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: Alright, we're doing more throwback to 2001 with our fourth graders.

- 18:23SPEAKER_00: How are you today?
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Good.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: We've got Olivia.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Good.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: And we've got Naisia.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: How are you?
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Feeling good?
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: So we're talking about when Mr.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: Martone was a fourth grader.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: And we talked about with the group, we talked about toys.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: We've talked about shows.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: And with you guys, we're gonna talk about movies.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm gonna show you some of the top movies of 2001 when I was a fourth grader.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: And I want you to tell me if you've ever seen this movie or if you've ever heard of this movie.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: Does it see pretty easy?
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: Now, a lot I will tell you, all three of these movies I had on VHS.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Do you know what that is?
- 19:02SPEAKER_07: No.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: So we used to have to buy movies on a on a VHS and we'd have to put in our VCR.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: So it was this little like you had to get these little black cartridges and you'd put them in your you'd put them in your VCR and then it would play and it was on a tape.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: That was like a big deal.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: Alright, okay, you ready?
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: This was the first movie that was popular that I remember getting the videotape of.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: I want you to see if you've ever seen this movie.
- 19:27SPEAKER_05: I have.
- 19:28SPEAKER_05: No, I've never.
- 19:29SPEAKER_05: Never seen it?

- 19:31SPEAKER_00: Do you know can you say that can you say what movie this is?
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: Shrek.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: This is Shrek.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: Shrek was super popular.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: And it was like one of the first, like, really, really kind of different movies that wasn't Disney.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: It was from uh DreamWork.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: So it was a little different, a little fun.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Have you so you have seen it?
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: So what did you think of it?
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Did you laugh?
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Yes, it's very funny.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: It makes fun of fairy tales and a lot of interesting, fun stuff.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: Suvi, you've never seen Shrek?
- 19:56SPEAKER_05: No.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.

- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Um I want to see it.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: It's very funny.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: It has a talking donkey and all kinds of fun things and stuff like that.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: And it kind of was a parody of fairy tales.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Do you know what a parody is?
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: No.
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: It means that it kind of like makes fun of stuff.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, makes fun of makes fun of different fairy tales and stuff.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: This next one, I'm I'm pretty sure you've probably seen this, but I want to see what you think.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Have you ever seen this movie?
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: What movie is this?

- 20:40SPEAKER_00: With Boo, yeah.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: They gotta get through the door.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: And then But they learned scaring isn't really the best.
- 20:46SPEAKER_05: It's more about And then they actually do things like funner with kids.
- 20:51SPEAKER_05: And then they found a stock and then they had to like give it 2319, 2319, and they like get everyone covered, yeah.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Do you know they're building a monster sink roller coaster in Disney World?
- 21:04SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna go to Disney World.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: You're gonna go to Disney World?
- 21:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:06SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Alright, here we've got one more.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Now, this is a live action movie, which is not anime, this is real dick.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: But I remember my parents taking me to see this movie, and I remember thinking, like, this is the coolest thing ever.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: You ever seen this movie?
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: No.

- 21:28SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: So this is about two kids whose parents are secret agents.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: And they end up getting trapped and they become like secret spies themselves.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: So it's it was very cool.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: When I was little, I thought this was like real.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: I thought like, I'm gonna be a spy kid.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: Do you think I could have been a spy kid?
- 21:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Are there movies that you see now that you think like they're even kind of silly, but you kind of think you could be that?
- 21:55SPEAKER_05: No.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: What movies are popular now for you?
- 21:59SPEAKER_00: Tell me.

- 22:07SPEAKER_00: Like shows?
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.

- 22:31SPEAKER_00: Going to the movies when I was little was like a big deal.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Now it's not so much anymore because I think people can watch movies at home, so it's not as cool.
- 22:40SPEAKER_05: Not the new movies?
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: No.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Well you can still watch new movies at at places, but alright, Suvi, you said you had a note for me.
