- 0:01Speaker 1: Wave.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time. A wave original.
- 0:13Speaker 2: My name is Beaumont E. Jones. Thanks for listening wherever
- 0:15Speaker 2: you get your podcasts. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
- 0:19Speaker 2: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
- 0:21Speaker 2: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
- 0:24Speaker 2: a hater. It is that time of week where we
- 0:27Speaker 2: have a guest join us, coming to us live from Chicago, Illinois.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And I got, I can admit, me and my man
- 0:34Speaker 2: went to the Sphere in Vegas and watched The Wizard
- 0:36Speaker 2: of Oz together. Jason Goff, what's going on?
- 0:40Speaker 1: What's happening, Bo?
- 0:41Speaker 3: So, Immediately, this morning, I was like, I wonder if
- 0:45Speaker 3: I will stay away from.
- 0:46Speaker 1: The Wizard of Oz experience. Or let it build the
- 0:49Speaker 1: way it did on a cab ride.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Oh my God. So the thing was, man, like, wanted
- 0:54Speaker 2: to go check out the Spear, okay? And so me
- 0:57Speaker 2: and God were riding.
- 0:58Speaker 1: We talked about it.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we about to go to the Thomas and Max
- 1:02Speaker 2: Center to watch Summer League. And we pass by the
- 1:06Speaker 2: Sphere and we talk about it. And it reminds me
- 1:08Speaker 2: of like when I was in college and somebody was
- 1:10Speaker 2: trying to break the seal about enjoying the Golden Girls.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You just didn't necessarily want to go first. But then
- 1:15Speaker 2: once you did, you realized the whole crew was down.
- 1:18Speaker 2: And I was like, hey, man, you know, they show
- 1:20Speaker 2: the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere. I was thinking
- 1:23Speaker 2: about going. Me too!
- 1:25Speaker 1: Boom.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So we went, but let me tell you this, man,
- 1:27Speaker 2: they charge a hundred something dollars for the goddamn Wizard
- 1:29Speaker 2: of Oz at the sphere. And those was the not
- 1:31Speaker 2: expensive tickets. I mean, they were not as expensive.
- 1:35Speaker 1: As expensive. Right. Relatively. Right.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Certain moments in a budding friendship where you realize, oh,
- 1:44Speaker 3: this is your man. Because when you sent it to me,
- 1:47Speaker 3: I was like, okay. And, you know, like I wanted
- 1:50Speaker 3: to see what was next. I know you got a
- 1:51Speaker 3: lot of bread. I'm sitting there like.
- 1:53Speaker 1: All right, what we do next? And then we there.
- 1:56Speaker 3: And you know me. I, well, you didn't know me,
- 1:59Speaker 3: but I told you I'm not a big fan like
- 2:01Speaker 3: roller coasters and shit like that. So immediately I'm like, ooh,
- 2:06Speaker 3: if he, you know, if we out and we just
- 2:08Speaker 3: told the cabbie and the cabbie was like, yeah, y'all
- 2:10Speaker 3: should do that.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Oh my God, the cab driver was like so into it.
- 2:13Speaker 2: She was like, yeah, you should take an edible and
- 2:15Speaker 2: sit down. Oh my God, it's so good. I forgot
- 2:17Speaker 2: to send her a text and let her know how
- 2:19Speaker 2: it went.
- 2:20Speaker 3: So to me, the pressure was being put on from
- 2:22Speaker 3: that moment because I'm like, is it roller coaster vibes?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Because I'm thinking the.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Sphere, it's going to be all around us, surrounding us.
- 2:28Speaker 3: It's going to be like a wild ride. Next thing
- 2:29Speaker 3: you know, boy, I went down to the hotel lobby,
- 2:31Speaker 3: grabbed that driving me real quick.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I was like, no, no, no. I'm not going to
- 2:35Speaker 1: let Bo's hundred and something dollars go to waste. No, no, no, no.
- 2:38Speaker 1: We out here. And then we sat down and it
- 2:40Speaker 1: was the Wizard of Oz. Steep viewing, you know what
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm saying?
- 2:43Speaker 3: Had the old Comiskey Park kind of, you know, 300
- 2:46Speaker 3: section nosebleed.
- 2:47Speaker 1: But it was okay. And the best part is seeing
- 2:50Speaker 1: the people who did the research like you did. So
- 2:52Speaker 1: shout out to you. I appreciate the experience.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Amen. All good. So yeah, we did that last time.
- 2:57Speaker 2: So we had a moment here. I hate it when
- 2:58Speaker 2: we do the show before the show. We almost did
- 3:00Speaker 2: the show before the show. Golf can't help himself. Golf,
- 3:03Speaker 2: you bring something up. Golf ready to do the show.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You are.
- 3:06Speaker 2: You're the guy. I get excited, man. You get excited, right?
- 3:10Speaker 1: I'm still excited about this.
- 3:11Speaker 2: You got to stop. You got to stop. You got
- 3:12Speaker 2: to stop. You got to stop. Okay. So there's a
- 3:15Speaker 2: wild NFL story right now that is actually wilder than
- 3:19Speaker 2: I realized that it was. And I just want to
- 3:21Speaker 2: get to the baseline level of wild off the top.
- 3:24Speaker 2: We'll talk about LeBron and other stuff later. But this
- 3:26Speaker 2: here right here, okay. So we got news, was it Sunday,
- 3:32Speaker 2: that Kyle Shanahan had been in a terrible car accident.
- 3:39Speaker 2: We're talking broken ribs. We're talking severe concussion. He's still
- 3:43Speaker 2: recovering from the concussion. But the important detail, the accident
- 3:49Speaker 2: we learned about on Sunday, it didn't happen on Saturday.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It happened yesterday. 11 days prior, and somehow we did
- 4:03Speaker 2: not find out about this until the day that we
- 4:08Speaker 2: found out. 11 days, one of the 10 most famous
- 4:13Speaker 2: people in your region, okay? Like a name that everybody
- 4:19Speaker 2: knows where you at. One of the few unifying things
- 4:23Speaker 2: around there The San Francisco 49ers, the head coach doesn't
- 4:28Speaker 2: get into a fender bender, right? He didn't even get
- 4:33Speaker 2: caught for a DUI. Maybe that, no, actually, no, I
- 4:36Speaker 2: don't know how that slips through the cracks. He got
- 4:38Speaker 2: fucked up in a car accident, right? Things where there
- 4:43Speaker 2: must be public records and nobody reported this. The 49ers
- 4:52Speaker 2: got to tell us about this. And what level of
- 4:57Speaker 2: shenanigans are we talking about? Okay. Because to me, and
- 5:00Speaker 2: you tell me if I'm wrong and look, you work
- 5:01Speaker 2: in a, you work in a city city, right? Like
- 5:04Speaker 2: what I mean by that is you work in a
- 5:06Speaker 2: city where not just a bunch of media, but a
- 5:08Speaker 2: particular stripe of media is some go get us up
- 5:11Speaker 2: where you at. Can you imagine the circumstance under which
- 5:14Speaker 2: 11 days pass and Ben Johnson having broken bones and
- 5:20Speaker 2: a severe concussion and doesn't get out.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Not a chance not a chance because that means the
- 5:26Speaker 3: hospital you ain't got nobody at the hospital you ain't
- 5:28Speaker 3: got nobody on the police force or if you do
- 5:31Speaker 3: kyle's been your man kyle's you know helped you out
- 5:34Speaker 3: or john lynn i remember when shout out to boogie
- 5:37Speaker 3: lance briggs got into a one car accident uh on
- 5:41Speaker 3: the expressway late night in chicago and left the ride
- 5:45Speaker 3: people knew about that joint an hour and a half
- 5:47Speaker 3: later an hour.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Later and that's that's a You know, a Pro Bowl linebacker.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I think a dude who's on the cusp of Hall
- 5:53Speaker 3: of Fame, but that's my Bears bias. We knew about
- 5:55Speaker 3: that immediately. We talk about John Lynch, right, because he's
- 6:00Speaker 3: the guy, he's the architect. That's Kyle Shanahan's organization, seemingly,
- 6:05Speaker 3: and has been for a while. So for this to happen,
- 6:09Speaker 3: there are things that are so quiet that they're loud.
- 6:13Speaker 1: For it to happen and us, you.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Know, to be in the relative sphere of news, no
- 6:19Speaker 3: sphere pun intended here, sphere of news of bad accidents
- 6:22Speaker 3: in the media, like immediately you think of the recent
- 6:25Speaker 3: one that you heard of is Matt Miller losing an arm.
- 6:28Speaker 3: So when I hear really bad car accidents, the antenna
- 6:31Speaker 3: goes up and then you, oh, this wasn't 72 hours ago?
- 6:35Speaker 1: This wasn't, this wasn't 40, like who.
- 6:38Speaker 3: If it's that quiet and that bad, then you come
- 6:42Speaker 3: out and say, hey man, roll over, something happened. But
- 6:46Speaker 3: if it's quiet and bad and something happened and nobody's
- 6:50Speaker 3: still talking about it, like now you got dudes on
- 6:53Speaker 3: the internet, on social media who are now fighting about
- 6:57Speaker 3: covering up for certain people and making sure the relationships
- 7:01Speaker 3: stay pure. You got like, you know, Florio and Glazer
- 7:04Speaker 3: sending the shots to each other.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Like this is.
- 7:06Speaker 3: It makes you wonder, after all the athletic and dying
- 7:09Speaker 3: Roussini stuff and Mike Vrabel, it makes you wonder like,
- 7:14Speaker 3: How close is too close? And is that happening on
- 7:17Speaker 3: a different scale in the NFL than it is on
- 7:20Speaker 3: any other level in any other sport?
- 7:22Speaker 2: So here's why I'm inclined to believe that there are
- 7:27Speaker 2: absolutely some measure of shenanigans at play. I don't know
- 7:31Speaker 2: exactly what the shenanigans are, but here's why I believe
- 7:34Speaker 2: that there are definitely shenanigans at play and that this
- 7:37Speaker 2: is simply the beginning. Like every now and then you
- 7:40Speaker 2: come across a story. For example, when they said that
- 7:43Speaker 2: Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident in
- 7:47Speaker 2: his driveway, I was like, no, no, no. You can't
- 7:51Speaker 2: build up enough speed to be seriously injured in a
- 7:54Speaker 2: car accident in your driveway. We gonna find out something else.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And then obviously we found out something else, right? Here's
- 8:03Speaker 2: my thing with this. As severely injured as Shanahan was
- 8:10Speaker 2: in this accident that happened on July 14th. We are
- 8:15Speaker 2: recording this on July 27th. So who's to say by
- 8:19Speaker 2: the time the streets get this, who's to say some
- 8:21Speaker 2: other information don't come out, right? He had that concussion
- 8:27Speaker 2: and he had all those broken bones. And in between
- 8:31Speaker 2: the 14th and the 25th, they knew that he had
- 8:38Speaker 2: a bunch of broken ribs, right? They knew that he
- 8:42Speaker 2: was messed up as he was. Which is to say,
- 8:46Speaker 2: they knew that either A, he was not going to
- 8:50Speaker 2: show up to the press conference or the first day
- 8:53Speaker 2: of training camp, or B, he was going to show
- 8:57Speaker 2: up in that motherfucker looking like Wile E. Coyote or somebody, right,
- 9:02Speaker 2: with the neck brace on, with crutches, with the shit
- 9:06Speaker 2: wrapped around his head. You know what I mean?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Or, for all I know, he might be in traction.
- 9:13Speaker 2: You knew that it was going to be one of
- 9:15Speaker 2: those things. I guess I'm saying all that to say,
- 9:17Speaker 2: you knew that by the time training camp came, you
- 9:21Speaker 2: were going to have to explain what was going on. right?
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yet and still, you, instead of getting out in front
- 9:31Speaker 2: of this early, hey, Kyle was in a car accident.
- 9:36Speaker 2: It could have been worse. Thank God he's still here.
- 9:40Speaker 2: And we'll have more information when, you know, we begin
- 9:43Speaker 2: training camp, right? No, they didn't do that. They literally
- 9:47Speaker 2: were like, we're not going to say a word until
- 9:49Speaker 2: we have no other option. And I don't know about you, brother.
- 9:54Speaker 2: But when I've not had an explanation until there was...
- 10:00Speaker 2: no other option, it's because I was desperately hoping there
- 10:05Speaker 2: would be another option because it was some shenanigans at
- 10:09Speaker 2: play on one level or another.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You would hope that things....
- 10:18Speaker 3: The issue, and Yahoo did some of this reporting too,
- 10:21Speaker 3: they made the statement on Saturday and then a minute later,
- 10:24Speaker 3: the national NFL guy makes a statement and the report
- 10:28Speaker 3: is out. And then another minute later, the local guy
- 10:32Speaker 3: for that network makes a statement and then puts the
- 10:36Speaker 3: report out. So what you're hoping here is, one, you're
- 10:41Speaker 3: hoping that Kyle is okay, hoping that There weren't anybody,
- 10:45Speaker 3: wasn't anybody else involved in this situation.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's first. And then you get to, all right, why
- 10:51Speaker 1: did this need to be covered up?
- 10:53Speaker 3: And two, how much stuff doesn't get out because you
- 10:58Speaker 3: got control over, and this is the conversation that, you know,
- 11:02Speaker 3: we all knew was going to have to be had
- 11:03Speaker 3: about the NFL Network and the ESPN.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Merger, right? Like, this is it.
- 11:09Speaker 3: PR versus journalism. Are you are you looking out? Are
- 11:13Speaker 3: you a PR arm or are you? Hey, these are
- 11:16Speaker 3: the stories that the people who consume this and invest
- 11:21Speaker 3: in this product should know about.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Right. Speaking truth to power, that whole thing.
- 11:26Speaker 3: If you got it like that and you can flex
- 11:28Speaker 3: it that brazenly for 10 days.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Is not is.
- 11:34Speaker 3: It's unconscionable in a non-social media news environment, and.
- 11:39Speaker 1: That's what we grew up in.
- 11:41Speaker 3: We grew up in the next day, you knew that,
- 11:44Speaker 3: you know, somebody was going to be talking about it or,
- 11:45Speaker 3: you know, Bernie Lipscomb was going to be writing a
- 11:48Speaker 3: column about it or this person was going to, like,
- 11:50Speaker 3: I knew, you know, I knew certain people were going
- 11:52Speaker 3: to be all over these things.
- 11:53Speaker 1: And as we have gotten.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Further and further away from that and more access is
- 11:58Speaker 3: involved with social media, people had like nobody's got a
- 12:02Speaker 3: screenshot nobody's got a camera like.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Well you know the shit that you gotta shut down
- 12:07Speaker 1: to keep something like this.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Quiet well like i think there's a i think there's
- 12:11Speaker 2: there's the access question right which by the way is
- 12:13Speaker 2: a level of shenanigans right like that like that like
- 12:17Speaker 2: the access question multi-layered shenanigans yeah yeah yeah like that's
- 12:19Speaker 2: a level of shenanigans um what kyle shanahan was or
- 12:23Speaker 2: was not doing potential level of shenanigans because there's it's
- 12:29Speaker 2: irresponsible for me to say the, the examples that I
- 12:33Speaker 2: have that make me think more of what it might
- 12:35Speaker 2: be when there is a car accident, but car accidents
- 12:38Speaker 2: can mean many things is simply the point that I
- 12:41Speaker 2: will make.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:43Speaker 2: But I think there's also, this is perhaps a structural
- 12:47Speaker 2: institutional question about journalism and just how many people are
- 12:51Speaker 2: there to do the job. And I say that because
- 12:54Speaker 2: in this way, yeah, there's the, ESPN don't want to
- 12:58Speaker 2: lose access, you know, or the NFL network doesn't want
- 13:01Speaker 2: to lose access. Or I would even go so far
- 13:03Speaker 2: as to say an institution like the athletic, which only
- 13:07Speaker 2: does the sports, right? Doesn't want to lose access. Hey man,
- 13:11Speaker 2: this is a Metro desk story, right? Like this is
- 13:15Speaker 2: the story for the people who every day go look
- 13:18Speaker 2: at those reports, just hoping to see that maybe just
- 13:23Speaker 2: maybe somebody famous got popped. Right? Like, that's the question.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I can't believe nobody gave this to TMZ. It'd just
- 13:31Speaker 2: be worth some good money to them.
- 13:34Speaker 3: And that's the thing. Either, well, not either. Somebody's really
- 13:39Speaker 3: good at their job.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Put it like that. Somebody is really good at their
- 13:43Speaker 1: job in the Bay or wherever. There you have it.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Just to be clear.
- 13:49Speaker 1: That job.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Somebody make sure that, hey, outlets, you know, if something
- 13:55Speaker 3: comes across your desk, this is the bread that we
- 13:57Speaker 3: got for you. And I'm not speaking of this situation
- 13:59Speaker 3: right now, but I'm talking about like, generally, we know
- 14:02Speaker 3: about these things and we hear about these things where
- 14:03Speaker 3: it's like, all right, you go, like you said, you
- 14:05Speaker 3: go to TMZ, you go to this place, you go
- 14:07Speaker 3: to this place, you go to the local paper. Hey,
- 14:09Speaker 3: you know, I've been giving you news for years. Hey,
- 14:11Speaker 3: if something comes across your desk concerning my guy or
- 14:14Speaker 3: my girl or whoever, This is how much bread will
- 14:16Speaker 3: be on the table for you when it comes back out.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Oh, by the way, I got to call.
- 14:20Speaker 3: The hospital because if you got concussed, this ain't old
- 14:25Speaker 3: school godfather days where you got the doctor just pulling
- 14:27Speaker 3: up to, or you may just have the doctor pulling
- 14:29Speaker 3: up to the crib. You're talking about shenanigans. How far
- 14:33Speaker 3: are you willing to go to make sure that this
- 14:35Speaker 3: 10 days gets completed?
- 14:36Speaker 2: You also got to call 5-0.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Do you have to?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Because 5-0 got to pull. 5-0 has to pull on
- 14:43Speaker 2: the scene for this, and 5-0 has to do a report.
- 14:47Speaker 1: But when 5-0 pull up, you know, blasting bang, bang,
- 14:51Speaker 1: not a gang.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Well, yo, that's what I'm saying. You know what I mean?
- 14:56Speaker 1: Police officers love football.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Well, no, I was about to say, especially in these
- 14:59Speaker 2: situations where the team is not in the city-city. but
- 15:04Speaker 2: it's in one of the smaller ones. And I didn't
- 15:06Speaker 2: check exactly like the municipality that Kyle got caught up in,
- 15:10Speaker 2: but the city, that might as well be a college town.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Wherever they got the facility at, for the most part,
- 15:15Speaker 2: that right there, that's a college town. You know, they can,
- 15:19Speaker 2: you know, but here's the thing. As the University of
- 15:21Speaker 2: Georgia will tell you, not all college towns are the same.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Now are they? Right? Some of them send you to jail.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I was astounded. when I got down to Atlanta and.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Found out that the University of Georgia in Athens and
- 15:35Speaker 3: the football players and the speeding issues don't really go
- 15:38Speaker 3: the way you would think it would go if you
- 15:40Speaker 3: watch these cliche-ass movies or you go to any other SEC.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Powerhouse, maybe, like, they get done.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Man, it's like, hey, you were doing 51 in a 50, homeboy.
- 15:49Speaker 3: It's time for you. I don't care if you're starting
- 15:51Speaker 3: on Saturday. You know, bring your ass down.
- 15:54Speaker 2: It was like when Jameis got caught up at Florida State,
- 15:58Speaker 2: And the obvious conclusion that many drew was that, you know,
- 16:02Speaker 2: the local hometown police was coming through for the football program.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Let me tell you who didn't feel that way. Football players.
- 16:09Speaker 2: They were like, what are you talking about? They be
- 16:12Speaker 2: trying to throw us in jail. They be trying to
- 16:14Speaker 2: throw us in jail all the time. Now, who knows, right?
- 16:17Speaker 2: But I'm just saying, like, not every place is just like, cool,
- 16:20Speaker 2: I got you. We'll just let this slide. I don't
- 16:23Speaker 2: know what's going on there, but I tell you what
- 16:25Speaker 2: I didn't know. is going on there. The interim coach
- 16:31Speaker 2: for the 49ers, while we wait for Kyle Shanahan, and
- 16:36Speaker 2: this is where Goff almost did the show before the
- 16:38Speaker 2: show and I had to make him stop because I
- 16:40Speaker 2: didn't want to ruin his energy because I didn't understand
- 16:42Speaker 2: what he was talking about and then I figured out
- 16:44Speaker 2: what he was talking about and then I was like, no,
- 16:45Speaker 2: we got to stop. The interim coach is a man
- 16:51Speaker 2: named Chris Forrester and Goff starts explaining that the interim
- 16:58Speaker 2: coach is the coach who got caught with some cocaine.
- 17:04Speaker 2: And I have no idea what Goff... But Goff says
- 17:08Speaker 2: something that's correct, right? Like, Goff is a dude that
- 17:11Speaker 2: he has his information lined up. So he said it's
- 17:13Speaker 2: some coach that got caught up with cocaine. And I'm like, dude,
- 17:16Speaker 2: I don't know anything about what you're talking about. And
- 17:19Speaker 2: I'm like, but wait a minute. The only story I
- 17:22Speaker 2: can think of involving a coach getting caught up with
- 17:25Speaker 2: cocaine was that white man who was the offensive line
- 17:28Speaker 2: coach in miami and wasn't he dealing with like some
- 17:32Speaker 2: thicked out black girl right and i can't remember if
- 17:35Speaker 2: she was a stripper or like a pro but it
- 17:40Speaker 2: was she had a very miami job i just i
- 17:42Speaker 2: just put it there and community services yeah yeah he
- 17:46Speaker 2: got caught like didn't get caught snorting blowing the drive-thru
- 17:49Speaker 2: line or something and then they found out that he
- 17:51Speaker 2: was like in the office had her on like facetime
- 17:54Speaker 2: and was snorting blow talking about i wish you was
- 17:56Speaker 2: here um And it's this guy. And look, I understand
- 18:01Speaker 2: that that happened nine years ago. But he's worked his
- 18:05Speaker 2: way back to being a head coach in the NFL,
- 18:10Speaker 2: even if he's only a head coach for a couple
- 18:12Speaker 2: of days. Though, as I saw somebody put on Twitter,
- 18:14Speaker 2: it's interesting about concussions. NFL, by the way, the only
- 18:17Speaker 2: place where people come back for a concussion after like two,
- 18:19Speaker 2: three days. But they say 10 percent of people suffer
- 18:23Speaker 2: severe concussions and they find in a week. And then
- 18:25Speaker 2: there's 10% who suffered severe concussions and they're not fine
- 18:28Speaker 2: in a year, right? We don't know where in this
- 18:30Speaker 2: continuum Kyle Shanahan is going to go. But as long
- 18:33Speaker 2: as Kyle Shanahan is out, this man, who is most
- 18:38Speaker 2: famous for all the things I just told you, is
- 18:43Speaker 2: an NFL head coach. And golf can't answer my question,
- 18:47Speaker 2: but maybe some of the rest of you can. And
- 18:49Speaker 2: maybe you need to call with some voicemails. They're going
- 18:50Speaker 2: to infuriate us, but we need to hear it. Just
- 18:53Speaker 2: how good is it to be white? My God. The
- 18:58Speaker 2: fact that he could get any other job, any other job,
- 19:02Speaker 2: let alone working his way up to the top. he
- 19:07Speaker 2: only had to sit out for one year. He'd been
- 19:09Speaker 2: with the 49ers since 2019. Yeah.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Clean your name up.
- 19:14Speaker 3: And I want to go back to something that you
- 19:16Speaker 3: mentioned and I'm going to take umbrage with it, bro. Uh,
- 19:20Speaker 3: you said caught to, to be caught. Someone has to
- 19:27Speaker 3: say you did something and then present you with the evidence.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Chris Forrester. And listen, man, shout out to the fellas
- 19:35Speaker 1: out there who can't turn their horny down. Chris Forster
- 19:39Speaker 1: sent a video, not just a FaceTime.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Hey, baby, let's do this line together. Let's take it
- 19:47Speaker 3: back to the 80s and 70s. No, no, no. I'm
- 19:50Speaker 3: going to send you a video in the office on
- 19:53Speaker 3: the desk with the rolled up dollar bill because I'm
- 19:57Speaker 3: a real player you know what I mean like this
- 20:00Speaker 3: ain't this ain't no new money here rolled up dollar
- 20:03Speaker 3: bill snorted the line and then told her I wish
- 20:07Speaker 3: I was doing this all for you I wish you were.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Here Like, we're talking about a man who is true
- 20:12Speaker 1: to the game and romantic. Okay? This ain't caught.
- 20:16Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? This is for the love
- 20:18Speaker 3: of the game type vibes right here. You know how
- 20:20Speaker 3: many ways you can get caught? Either... doing something outside
- 20:24Speaker 3: of a relationship you're supposed to, or just doing something illegal.
- 20:27Speaker 3: For he went the Pooh Shiesty Gucci Mane route of
- 20:30Speaker 3: bringing cameras.
- 20:32Speaker 1: To the crime.
- 20:33Speaker 3: And not only does he get to lay low, do
- 20:35Speaker 3: his thing, I'm sure he's an exceptional unit coach, a
- 20:38Speaker 3: position coach, wherever he at. I'm not even sure of that.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I'm just sure he got peoples, right? Kyle Shanahan... You know.
- 20:46Speaker 1: You rock and roll.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Hey, man, San Francisco was the scene of the crime.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I was in Miami last time. That's the other thing.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I think this was a San Francisco domestic product that
- 20:58Speaker 3: he was going after in that video. So you come
- 21:01Speaker 3: back to the spot, you know, your family.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Like, hey.
- 21:04Speaker 2: No, he was in Miami when that happened.
- 21:06Speaker 3: I know that's what it was. The thing was in
- 21:08Speaker 3: San Francisco. Like what he wanted was in San Francisco.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yes. Yes. So that's what I'm saying. Your family, Big
- 21:16Speaker 1: C back on his, you know what.
- 21:17Speaker 3: It is when Pookie come to the family reunion.
- 21:20Speaker 1: He got a job. Hey man, he got a job.
- 21:21Speaker 1: He doing well, right? Big C, hey, Big C doing well.
- 21:25Speaker 1: He put that, he put that boogie sugar behind him.
- 21:28Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 21:28Speaker 3: Don't worry about the big booty bros in the Bay.
- 21:31Speaker 3: We ain't even got to worry about it. All right,
- 21:33Speaker 3: he got a job in the Bay. Everything will be cool. Now,
- 21:35Speaker 3: all of a sudden, you're talking about pressure. You're talking
- 21:38Speaker 3: about a man who ain't shown that he can really,
- 21:40Speaker 3: you know, engage with pressure the right way. Your coach
- 21:43Speaker 3: break three ribs, his nose, his hand in an accident
- 21:46Speaker 3: that nobody want to talk about. All of a sudden,
- 21:48Speaker 3: I got to be the head coach of a squad
- 21:50Speaker 3: whose window is closing.
- 21:54Speaker 1: By the day.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Man. Chris, hey, Big C, you know, if don't nobody
- 21:59Speaker 3: love you, we love you, because it's going to be
- 22:02Speaker 3: a ride. Because that's the other thing. He has to hear, like,
- 22:06Speaker 3: certain things you think are buried. He has to hear
- 22:08Speaker 3: about this now for the next, what.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Few weeks of training camp? I don't know, man.
- 22:13Speaker 2: It sounds like only me and you figuring it out.
- 22:15Speaker 2: And I just pulled up an article, and it's not
- 22:19Speaker 2: the headline, but it's in the URL. Coach snorting assistant
- 22:24Speaker 2: coach Chris Forrester gets job with 49ers. And hold on.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I want to make sure people understand that I believe that, like,
- 22:31Speaker 2: you know, you got to have a path back for people. Yeah,
- 22:34Speaker 2: for sure. And Kyle Shanahan said in 2020 when they
- 22:37Speaker 2: gave him this job, he started off. Kyle looked out
- 22:40Speaker 2: for him because he used to be the line coach
- 22:42Speaker 2: for Washington when Kyle was there. And he said, we're
- 22:45Speaker 2: trying to ease him back in. I understand how big
- 22:47Speaker 2: a problem he did have. I also understand what he's
- 22:50Speaker 2: doing and committing to fix that problem. We're trying to
- 22:52Speaker 2: give him a chance to get back on track. He
- 22:55Speaker 2: did something extremely stupid. And since then he's hit rock bottom.
- 22:58Speaker 2: He went to rehab for 60 days and then he
- 23:00Speaker 2: was at a 90 patient out a day outpatient rehab.
- 23:05Speaker 2: And for the last two years, he's been in a
- 23:06Speaker 2: 12 step program. And look, Kyle, Kyle done come through
- 23:10Speaker 2: for the brothers too. You know what I mean? So like,
- 23:12Speaker 2: we got to, you know, we got to get- No.
- 23:14Speaker 1: No, he's doing it.
- 23:15Speaker 3: And listen, it's respect. It's just, if I'm him, like,
- 23:18Speaker 3: hey Kyle, why would you throw me in the ring
- 23:20Speaker 3: like this?
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Now all of a sudden it's like, all right.
- 23:24Speaker 3: You know, hey, we all, hey, you know somebody who
- 23:27Speaker 3: gets past something or just dealing, you know, addiction is
- 23:30Speaker 3: a daily battle for.
- 23:31Speaker 1: People, right? Yeah. putting the screws to me now, though.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, no, no. I'm just, look, I'm just,
- 23:39Speaker 2: he came all the way back.
- 23:40Speaker 1: I just want to be over here teaching a bucket step.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and by the way, apparently he wasn't the one
- 23:45Speaker 2: that got caught snorting in the drive-thru line. That was
- 23:47Speaker 2: somebody else.
- 23:49Speaker 1: No, no, no, yeah, yeah. No, no, he's the desk dude.
- 23:51Speaker 2: He's the desk dude. I thought he was the desk
- 23:54Speaker 2: dude and.
- 23:56Speaker 2: The drive-in dude. I forget who the drive-in dude was.
- 24:00Speaker 2: My bad. I don't mean to submerge you. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I got him. I got him mixed up. Also, he
- 24:07Speaker 2: was sending that video to a woman named Tijuana. Tijuana
- 24:11Speaker 2: with a K.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Listen, listen.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, man, look. That man know how to talk
- 24:17Speaker 2: across the aisle.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we know the vibes. Come on, man.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he need to.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Yeah, listening to Rick James, Fire and Desire.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I want to know, did he get down like that
- 24:26Speaker 2: before he got to Miami? Because I done seen cats
- 24:28Speaker 2: in Miami turn into, you see some interested white men
- 24:32Speaker 2: with some interesting sisters just randomly at the Icebox Cafe
- 24:36Speaker 2: on the beach.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Ned Flanders turned into Tony Montana out there.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Hey, hey, dot, dot, dot, never go back. You know
- 24:44Speaker 2: what I'm saying? Like, like it just, it just.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Put your mama on the phone.
- 24:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Baby, let you know I ain't coming
- 24:49Speaker 2: home no more. Have a nice life.
- 24:52Speaker 3: And this is all before anybody is put on a
- 24:55Speaker 3: pad of consequence.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 24:57Speaker 1: For the San Francisco 49ers.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yo, but no, this is, I mean, this is a
- 25:00Speaker 2: lot for the 49ers. And this is, we got, I just,
- 25:06Speaker 2: there's more. That's just what seems clear to me is
- 25:11Speaker 2: that there's more. And we know that even a little
- 25:14Speaker 2: bit of the more is they put Coach Cain in
- 25:20Speaker 2: charge of the shop until Kyle Shanahan comes back. When
- 25:25Speaker 2: he comes back, if he comes back, I'm just telling you.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I don't think it's just going to be Kyle Shanahan
- 25:30Speaker 2: was in a car accident. This smell like something else.
- 25:34Speaker 2: But hey, man, we are coming up next. I want

- 29:40Speaker 2: are back with uh jason golf you know you and
- 29:43Speaker 2: i have uh sent our texts around you send me
- 29:45Speaker 2: the text of lebron who appears to have gone to
- 29:47Speaker 2: the bald head uh lebron with the bald head and
- 29:50Speaker 2: the uh philadelphia beard right like he all the way
- 29:53Speaker 2: you know leaning in on the i tell you jaylen
- 29:56Speaker 2: now jaylen brown I saw somebody who said something about
- 29:59Speaker 2: how the Beijing supply in Philadelphia is going to go
- 30:03Speaker 2: through the roof with LeBron. But I think they both
- 30:05Speaker 2: are going to have to come home because for Jalen Brown,
- 30:08Speaker 2: this has been destined for him. He got to go
- 30:11Speaker 2: ahead and just come home and get himself a freeway.
- 30:14Speaker 2: And LeBron, if he do the same, you know what
- 30:16Speaker 2: I'm saying, that go a long way toward ingratiating yourself
- 30:19Speaker 2: to the locals.
- 30:21Speaker 1: He know what's up. He should have been came home.
- 30:24Speaker 1: I'm talking about LeBron.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Jalen is still in that, I'm young enough to let
- 30:29Speaker 3: this rock because I'm paid, and you're going to love
- 30:32Speaker 3: me no matter what. I had a friend who was like, hey, man,
- 30:37Speaker 3: I was looking down from up top, and I saw.
- 30:40Speaker 1: You down there. And I'm like, you're right. You're right. Right?
- 30:44Speaker 3: But when you got a quarter of a billion, you
- 30:47Speaker 3: can move a little bit different.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Nobody's ever really up top.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Nobody's ever really looking down.
- 30:51Speaker 2: That's how Kevin gets.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Away with it. Well, Kevin don't care.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's also seven feet tall. Like we don't
- 30:57Speaker 2: see every now and then you get a picture and
- 31:00Speaker 2: you're like, oh man, it's a problem.
- 31:01Speaker 1: It's happening.
- 31:02Speaker 2: But you don't really, but you don't see it on
- 31:04Speaker 2: a day-to-day basis. Well, LeBron, we saw his problem on
- 31:07Speaker 2: a day-to-day basis. Cause it was, he was, it was,
- 31:09Speaker 2: they was, he was getting bull rushed. It was coming. Like,
- 31:12Speaker 2: I think they were sending them dudes off the corners,
- 31:14Speaker 2: but it was not, he was not getting- Zone dog.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:18Speaker 2: He may have been getting hit from all flanks, but
- 31:21Speaker 2: you are right. It was a zone dog. That was
- 31:23Speaker 2: exactly what it was.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:25Speaker 3: And free blitzers on your eyes, right?
- 31:27Speaker 1: Yes. You know what I'm saying?
- 31:28Speaker 3: Like, your eyes got to block somebody's. And the fact
- 31:31Speaker 3: that you keep doing this shit up top. The do-rag
- 31:34Speaker 3: troll for a very long time, it's like, hey, you
- 31:37Speaker 3: got bad eyes.
- 31:37Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? You got bad eyes. Nobody
- 31:40Speaker 1: really wants.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Now, you go to Philly where, you know, the Ock Wars,
- 31:46Speaker 3: the Little Ock versus Big Ock. I just, I'm interested
- 31:50Speaker 3: in seeing how LeBron, with Austin and Luka, there.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Was, yeah, I'm riding. Oh, you need me? All right, cool.
- 31:58Speaker 1: Playoff series. It's time. This is different.
- 32:02Speaker 3: This is three dudes who you have competed against. I mean,
- 32:06Speaker 3: I know Tyrese is early in the game, but Tyrese
- 32:08Speaker 3: is somebody now, right? And Jalen Brown, you've gone up
- 32:11Speaker 3: against him in battles. Joel Embiid, same thing. And on
- 32:15Speaker 3: top of that, you played in the Olympics with Joel Embiid.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I'm interested to see how LeBron lets things happen, like
- 32:23Speaker 3: when there's a slide.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Or when there's panic. Does LeBron make it about him?
- 32:28Speaker 3: Does LeBron shift it to, hey, man, young guy's been
- 32:31Speaker 3: through this before? Because let's face it, for the last two,
- 32:34Speaker 3: three months, we've watched LeBron golf and hang out with
- 32:37Speaker 3: his boys. So if this is the vacation tour, then cool.
- 32:41Speaker 3: But then you come back on top of this and say, hey,
- 32:44Speaker 3: by the way, I'm doing this strictly for a championship
- 32:46Speaker 3: run and to still give something back.
- 32:50Speaker 1: I love grinding. I'm wondering... this is now.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Two franchises ago that he was the most important thing happening.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Cause let's face it during the bubble thing, when Anthony
- 33:02Speaker 3: Davis was acquired, like he, he played with lines on him.
- 33:05Speaker 1: He's like, this can't happen no more. COVID hit us.
- 33:08Speaker 4: Right.
- 33:09Speaker 1: And then you get the, the bubble ring that is
- 33:11Speaker 1: discounted by a lot of people like this.
- 33:14Speaker 3: It's been a, it's been a long time since LeBron
- 33:17Speaker 3: and we, we get the, you know, oh, look, LeBron
- 33:19Speaker 3: might be turning it up or look at this week
- 33:21Speaker 3: that he's had or look at this.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Series where he's playing all these minutes.
- 33:24Speaker 3: But it's been a while since LeBron has been the,
- 33:30Speaker 3: it's not only my franchise, but there are championship level
- 33:33Speaker 3: outside of, it's a Tuesday in February.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Kind of conversations, right? Like, I don't know, these dudes
- 33:41Speaker 1: think they can win a championship.
- 33:43Speaker 3: And depending on which leader slash player LeBron they get,
- 33:48Speaker 3: Jalen Brown ain't going there to be nobody's backup, right?
- 33:51Speaker 3: He ain't getting a pip. Joel Embiid, I don't give
- 33:55Speaker 3: a shit what you say. Watch those 76ers games from
- 33:57Speaker 3: last year where Joel felt okay. Hey, Tyrese Maxson getting
- 34:01Speaker 3: 28 again. Hey, young fella. Hey, go right down, left hand,
- 34:06Speaker 3: throw it up there. These mitts still soft. These knees
- 34:09Speaker 3: might be putting, and these feet might be strangling, but
- 34:13Speaker 3: he still think he can go get 31, 32. So I'm,
- 34:16Speaker 3: you know, the whole one ball thing, cool, but a
- 34:19Speaker 3: lot's going to depend on where LeBron sees himself night
- 34:22Speaker 3: to night. And these last couple of years with Austin
- 34:25Speaker 3: and Luka is a totally different vibe. You see what
- 34:28Speaker 3: the lake is going for now than being here in
- 34:31Speaker 3: Philadelphia where there is not a light-skinned man in sight.
- 34:34Speaker 3: They signed Contavious Caldwell Pope.
- 34:39Speaker 1: They are out here, bro.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Yeah, they already got Jeremy Cain out of there.
- 34:43Speaker 1: You're right.
- 34:45Speaker 2: They out here looking like the Washington football team on
- 34:48Speaker 2: Tetmo Bowl.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Like damn that's the manly call.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Yeah like damn they look like they had the red
- 34:59Speaker 2: jersey they had them dudes they look like the road
- 35:01Speaker 2: warriors you know they look like the LOD.
- 35:04Speaker 3: It's like me thinking Georgetown was a black school until
- 35:07Speaker 3: I was like 13 years old if you're an 8
- 35:11Speaker 3: year old Philadelphia 76ers fan right now you're like so
- 35:14Speaker 3: okay Okay, we a French team.
- 35:16Speaker 1: All right, let's roll.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Y'all out here looking like Mo' Better
- 35:19Speaker 2: Blues out here. You know what I'm saying? Like we
- 35:21Speaker 2: completely changed the paradigm.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Not Mo' Better Blues.
- 35:25Speaker 2: So I think it's much more a LeBron fitting in
- 35:29Speaker 2: question on the floor. I never worry about that.
- 35:31Speaker 1: It's Embiid.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Where you hit there. Because I don't know if there's
- 35:35Speaker 2: any way to play with Embiid other than a world
- 35:38Speaker 2: where Embiid is the center of everything. Because the criticism
- 35:40Speaker 2: that I think there's always been to have of Embiid
- 35:42Speaker 2: as a basketball player, no matter how good he was,
- 35:45Speaker 2: and this became a thing in the playoffs, is he
- 35:47Speaker 2: doesn't get the ball and do nothing quick, right? It's
- 35:51Speaker 2: get it, maybe hit the dribble a couple of times,
- 35:54Speaker 2: maybe do a couple of jab steps, whatever it is.
- 35:56Speaker 2: He's one of the greatest players ever. But with the
- 35:59Speaker 2: kind of lineup they're going to try it out there,
- 36:01Speaker 2: that ball got to move. Like to have five guys
- 36:04Speaker 2: of that level of skill, you kind of got to
- 36:05Speaker 2: make it somewhat democratic. about the way that it goes,
- 36:08Speaker 2: and Joel is not a Democratic basketball player, right? He
- 36:12Speaker 2: the king. This is how it's been. He, never forget,
- 36:15Speaker 2: he made himself the process. The process was not him.
- 36:19Speaker 2: He decided, I'm the process. He hyped, by the way,
- 36:22Speaker 2: I wouldn't have wanted my name on that shit, personally,
- 36:24Speaker 2: but he, this, it all revolves around him. That is
- 36:29Speaker 2: my question basketball-wise. And really, what happens if he only
- 36:33Speaker 2: plays 30 or 40 games again, but he gets in
- 36:37Speaker 2: there at the end and it's like, yo, we got Joel,
- 36:39Speaker 2: here we go, when you maybe are better off being like, nah, homie,
- 36:43Speaker 2: why don't you just, because all you're doing is just
- 36:45Speaker 2: buying time until you get hurt, right? You need him.
- 36:49Speaker 2: He and Porzingis are similar, right, in this regard in
- 36:52Speaker 2: terms of health. But when they won that championship with Porzingis,
- 36:55Speaker 2: they just brought him in at the end. Right? Maybe
- 36:58Speaker 2: that's the way that you do it because you're going
- 37:00Speaker 2: to have them a little bit. It ain't no way
- 37:02Speaker 2: Joel Embiid playing two months of playoff basketball without suffering
- 37:05Speaker 2: an injury that's going to derail them. I don't know
- 37:07Speaker 2: how much LeBron's going to be able to do all
- 37:10Speaker 2: this without suffering an injury. It's a baseball lineup.
- 37:14Speaker 3: This is a baseball lineup. Like, where you got to get...
- 37:17Speaker 3: All right, we can ride this dude for a week.
- 37:19Speaker 3: All right, now, you know, six through nine. Hey, bottom
- 37:22Speaker 3: of the lineup, we need y'all to do some shit.
- 37:23Speaker 3: You know, some big boys up top. Ty, Ty's setting
- 37:26Speaker 3: the table for y'all bumasses. I need the bench now
- 37:29Speaker 3: that is, you know, going to be making $ 7.
- 37:33Speaker 4: 22.
- 37:33Speaker 3: I need the bench to carry us forward. You know,
- 37:35Speaker 3: can a bench steal a game in the playoff series? Like,
- 37:38Speaker 3: these are the questions early, I think... I think the
- 37:43Speaker 3: first team that we saw of the Miami Heat where
- 37:45Speaker 3: they had all those dudes and Joel Anthony was expected
- 37:48Speaker 3: to be something other than Joel Anthony. With this new NBA,
- 37:53Speaker 3: you're expecting and need these other cats to be something else.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Because like you mentioned, if you get 45.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Games out of Joel and V, that's a plus, right?
- 38:04Speaker 3: You got Tyrese Maxey going to be going, you know,
- 38:06Speaker 3: a hundred miles an hour every single game because he's
- 38:09Speaker 3: young and he's, you know, he's energetic and athletic and all.
- 38:12Speaker 1: And then you got Jalen Brown.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Like we, we, you know, sometimes the comments and sometimes
- 38:17Speaker 3: things that people say about him and have conversations around him.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Jalen Brown, if I'm not, how old is Jalen Brown?
- 38:23Speaker 1: Jalen Brown, 28, right?
- 38:24Speaker 3: 29.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Jalen Brown should now be 29 or 30. Yeah, he's not,
- 38:29Speaker 2: this ain't no 24 year old.
- 38:31Speaker 1: So he's, And he's a champion, right?
- 38:33Speaker 3: So this is going to have to be a baseball
- 38:35Speaker 3: lineup kind of vibe where it's like, all right, this
- 38:37Speaker 3: week and a half, LeBron's feeling good.
- 38:39Speaker 1: We're going to ride him.
- 38:40Speaker 3: All right, Jalen, you can do it any night you
- 38:42Speaker 3: want to do it, but don't you like this kind
- 38:44Speaker 3: of help?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Don't you want to get to.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Because let's face it, Jalen Brown wants to face the
- 38:49Speaker 3: Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals and be fresh
- 38:52Speaker 3: enough to show that he's better than Jason Tatum and
- 38:55Speaker 3: he's better than Peyton Pritchard and Derek White, whoever y'all
- 38:57Speaker 3: thought could replace him, right?
- 38:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 38:59Speaker 3: So.
- 39:01Speaker 3: And this is the crazy part about having all these
- 39:03Speaker 3: guys on one team.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Usually, you know where the arrows are coming from. Nick Nurse.
- 39:11Speaker 1: It's a lot of quills out there, boy.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Buddy, this is a job for a great coach. And
- 39:18Speaker 2: I think Nick Nurse is a good one. And I'll
- 39:22Speaker 2: give you an example of this. I think Stan Van
- 39:25Speaker 2: Gundy was in very good coach yeah it was time
- 39:32Speaker 2: for a great coach to bring that particular team in
- 39:36Speaker 2: 06 across the finish line that collection of players required
- 39:41Speaker 2: a great coach like like that that happens from time
- 39:46Speaker 2: to time I want to hit something a little non-basketball,
- 39:49Speaker 2: and I want to be very clear. I'm not saying
- 39:51Speaker 2: this is the biggest deal in the world, right? That
- 39:54Speaker 2: won't save me from the aggregators necessarily, but they're saying
- 39:58Speaker 2: that LeBron looking at living in New York and commuting
- 40:01Speaker 2: to Philadelphia, taking a helicopter. Now, first, Goff, I'm going
- 40:07Speaker 2: to send you my thought on that. It's a little crass,
- 40:09Speaker 2: so I can only send it to you on the
- 40:11Speaker 2: text message because I kind.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Of— I appreciate you. I appreciate you. You see it? Yeah,
- 40:16Speaker 1: that's the first thing that I thought.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but I don't know if you thought about
- 40:20Speaker 2: it like I thought about it.
- 40:21Speaker 1: No, yeah. Yeah, oh, oh, yeah, yeah, no, I got you.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I mean, it's going a little far. But, dog, it's,
- 40:33Speaker 1: how can I put this?
- 40:36Speaker 3: So when Nipsey passed away, the game did quite a
- 40:40Speaker 3: Nipsey impression.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 40:44Speaker 4: And people had to be like, hey, we don't listen
- 40:46Speaker 4: to you for that. And he had to get back
- 40:50Speaker 4: in his bag. Like, you don't have to.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Do these things.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Well, I think this is my thought on it, right?
- 41:01Speaker 1: Like, does LeBron not know how cool or how awesome?
- 41:05Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. Do you think LeBron realizes what....
- 41:11Speaker 3: Whatever you might believe the majority believes about his career.
- 41:15Speaker 3: You know, I think I suffer from a lot of
- 41:18Speaker 3: the things that I sometimes think he goes through where
- 41:21Speaker 3: it's like you always trying to make sure it's understood
- 41:26Speaker 3: who you are and what you've done, even though you
- 41:27Speaker 3: don't want to say it.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I think he goes as far as pushing.
- 41:32Speaker 3: The envelope to make it be like, hey, man, we
- 41:34Speaker 3: know how cool you should be. If you are in
- 41:36Speaker 3: the argument or conversation for the top two or three
- 41:39Speaker 3: players in the game or all.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Time, you're amazing, right?
- 41:45Speaker 3: Like there's certain dudes who move like they're not aware
- 41:49Speaker 3: of how people feel about them. And I think in
- 41:53Speaker 3: this social media time, LeBron's always aware of what people
- 41:58Speaker 3: don't like about him, apparently. And there's always these, like
- 42:02Speaker 3: the living in New York part, to me, Doug, just
- 42:06Speaker 3: from a family and business standpoint, you know, there's not
- 42:12Speaker 3: a lot of retired dope dealers out there.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Like, you're always one move away, right?
- 42:15Speaker 3: Like, living in New York probably poses more business opportunities,
- 42:22Speaker 3: but it poses more liability as well than just living
- 42:26Speaker 3: in Philadelphia or living wherever the players live. And I
- 42:28Speaker 3: don't know if the 76ers as a group, you know, commute,
- 42:31Speaker 3: do the 45-minute thing, but, like, taking a helicopter to
- 42:34Speaker 3: practice and all this other, like, I understand you want
- 42:37Speaker 3: to be quick, you want to be efficient, but it's just,
- 42:40Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 42:41Speaker 3: I don't know what LeBron has left to really prove
- 42:45Speaker 3: to himself, even though it feels like he's still trying
- 42:48Speaker 3: to do some of that.
- 42:48Speaker 2: So this is my read on that. And like, for example,
- 42:51Speaker 2: I know JJ Redick, when he played with the Sixers,
- 42:54Speaker 2: he had a place in Brooklyn and he made the
- 42:57Speaker 2: commute in one way or another. And here's the thing, man,
- 43:02Speaker 2: that's JJ Redick, right? I think for LeBron, and apparently
- 43:10Speaker 2: these are things that he finds to be important, and
- 43:12Speaker 2: I can't make it important to him. I think that
- 43:15Speaker 2: he would ingratiate himself so much to that market just
- 43:20Speaker 2: by getting a spot in Philadelphia and being there, right? Like, look,
- 43:24Speaker 2: this ain't the old days where Willie Mays living a
- 43:27Speaker 2: brownstone on 100 and whatever. And he live in the
- 43:31Speaker 2: neighborhood and the kids outside play a stick ball. And
- 43:35Speaker 2: then Willie Mays come out here and play a little
- 43:37Speaker 2: bit with y'all.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Right.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Like, no, I get it. That part is never going
- 43:41Speaker 2: to happen. And if LeBron was in Philadelphia, he probably
- 43:44Speaker 2: wouldn't be nowhere. That's like accessible. But I do know
- 43:47Speaker 2: a little bit about that town. And you kind of
- 43:50Speaker 2: just big time. Right. Like you too big for Philadelphia.
- 43:53Speaker 2: I got to be in New York. And that doesn't
- 43:55Speaker 2: matter as long as you play well. But your old
- 43:57Speaker 2: ass might just come out here and be old. Um,
- 44:00Speaker 2: in which case, I don't know. I think that kind
- 44:03Speaker 2: of sorta, no matter how this goes or no matter
- 44:06Speaker 2: how this spins, he would be better off just doing
- 44:11Speaker 2: those people a solid. And they'd be like, man, you
- 44:13Speaker 2: remember that year LeBron was here, you know, like he
- 44:16Speaker 2: used to hang out with us here. Like you remember that,
- 44:19Speaker 2: that would be dope.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Um, people don't make like people made a big deal
- 44:23Speaker 1: about the blaze pizza thing.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Like the way you, the way you, um, Introduce.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Yourself to a fan base is so important.
- 44:35Speaker 3: And the people that didn't get inside the pizza place
- 44:38Speaker 3: and didn't show up, whatever the hubbub was with that
- 44:42Speaker 3: entire situation, it started a relationship that didn't have to
- 44:47Speaker 3: be started on a bad note, not a bad note,
- 44:50Speaker 3: but an unfortunate note. With this, like you mentioned, he
- 44:53Speaker 3: ain't going to be jogging up to the Liberty Bell
- 44:55Speaker 3: and doing the Rocky shit and all that.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Oh boy, I bet you they cutting that video as
- 44:59Speaker 2: we speak, though.
- 45:01Speaker 1: You think Nike on it?
- 45:02Speaker 2: Let me tell you something. That'd have been the first thing.
- 45:05Speaker 2: That's how y'all would have found out.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Just jogging.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Y'all would have found out, except LeBron like, nah, man,
- 45:10Speaker 2: I'm playing golf today. But nah, that's how y'all would
- 45:13Speaker 2: have found out that I was even doing this. It'd be,
- 45:15Speaker 2: you know, it'd have been with the old music or something.
- 45:18Speaker 2: All right, they just been like, look, man, you know
- 45:20Speaker 2: what I came here to do? Rising up to the
- 45:22Speaker 2: challenge of our rivals. The thrill of the fight.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Yeah, Meek Mill in the background, or Meek Mill jogging
- 45:31Speaker 3: with him while he's performing Dreams and Nightmares. Philadelphia Freeway,
- 45:34Speaker 3: getting ready to do what we do in the background.
- 45:37Speaker 1: That's the Philly national anthem?
- 45:39Speaker 2: Yeah, Jay Wright somewhere on the route.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Yeah, in a suit, by the way, in front of
- 45:45Speaker 1: a yard watering his lawn. Like, go ahead, do what
- 45:47Speaker 1: you gotta do. This is the city of champions.
- 45:49Speaker 2: You're welcome, Nike.
- 45:52Speaker 1: A.I.
- 45:52Speaker 2: And Doc, meet him at the top.
- 45:57Speaker 1: And then And then Joe Frazier at the end says.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Well, well, well, well, well, that's... Well, AI. That would
- 46:04Speaker 2: require AI. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 46:07Speaker 1: You got my dick up, Joe.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Shout out to Joe Frazier and his estate.
- 46:12Speaker 3: I hate to be the one to tell you, but
- 46:18Speaker 3: Joe's not going.
- 46:19Speaker 1: To be available. You ain't shit.
- 46:23Speaker 3: He said, I thought Alan Ives was an artificial intelligence.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Now we're all caught up.
- 46:30Speaker 2: I was just like, oh, God.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I hate to break it to you.
- 46:34Speaker 2: I hope you're not a big fan. I got some bad.
- 46:38Speaker 1: I'm going to fuck up your day.
- 46:40Speaker 2: This is going to ruin your day.
- 46:43Speaker 1: This is going to ruin your day. I know Joe
- 46:47Speaker 1: Frazier is not... God bless Joe Frazier and his family.
- 46:50Speaker 1: I know they're not... I know he's alive. I'm talking
- 46:54Speaker 1: about at the end. We're good now.
- 46:56Speaker 2: We're good now. I didn't... You have to admit that
- 47:00Speaker 2: in that moment, I was... I had not been... I
- 47:03Speaker 2: didn't have enough information.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Alright, my man. My man. Hang out with them kids
- 47:12Speaker 1: in the front yard. Shoot some hoops. Do something for
- 47:15Speaker 1: the city, baby.
- 47:17Speaker 2: That's right. Show up at the mosque. You know what
- 47:19Speaker 2: I'm saying? Kyrie will come with you. In fact, how
- 47:23Speaker 2: jealous is Kyrie? Like, damn, you get to.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Play in Philly? Or... You know, is Kyrie on the phone?
- 47:30Speaker 3: Like, you know, hey, you got a couple of dudes
- 47:32Speaker 3: who ain't really about, you know, that life.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Honestly, let me tell you this. If Kyrie played for Philly,
- 47:39Speaker 2: he would at once talk himself into being all time
- 47:43Speaker 2: Philly legend while completely talking himself out of playing in
- 47:47Speaker 2: the NBA.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 47:49Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. But then by that time, he would have,
- 47:52Speaker 1: you know, transitioned like. Don't you miss a time where NBA.
- 47:56Speaker 3: This is going to sound crazy, and I apologize to nobody.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Don't you miss a time when NBA players were a
- 48:02Speaker 3: little less rich, where you kind of had to see
- 48:05Speaker 3: them after.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Their playing career? Like these cats who have some of the.
- 48:10Speaker 3: These real personalities are like, oh shit, that's what you believe?
- 48:14Speaker 1: They just sail off into the sunset with a quarter billion.
- 48:18Speaker 2: Yes, they do.
- 48:19Speaker 3: What if Kyrie Irving had to be like, all right,
- 48:22Speaker 3: so the post-game show for the Dallas Mavericks for the
- 48:25Speaker 3: next 10 years, and you just finding shit out like, oh,
- 48:29Speaker 3: that Amazon tweet was a lot, it's a lot more there.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Yeah, let me tell you something. Let me tell you
- 48:34Speaker 2: something that's over. I was thinking about this. The player
- 48:38Speaker 2: that is like the color man for local television. Like
- 48:41Speaker 2: Keith Hernandez does that for the Mets. It ain't going
- 48:45Speaker 2: to be no Keith Hernandez type of dude doing color.
- 48:49Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 48:50Speaker 1: Them cats are done.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Keith Hernandez would have like $ 500 million.
- 48:53Speaker 3: What?
- 48:56Speaker 1: What?
- 48:57Speaker 3: You're talking about, like, all-time met, you don't have to
- 48:59Speaker 3: do anything else in this city, pay for everything, and
- 49:02Speaker 3: on top of it, my numbers, right?
- 49:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Think about the.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Dudes who are going to be in that position years
- 49:09Speaker 3: from now. It's going to be cats who were at
- 49:12Speaker 3: the end of the bench who we don't really recognize because, one,
- 49:15Speaker 3: they've been studying the game and probably made some real,
- 49:19Speaker 3: you know... acquaintances in the industry.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Nah, man.
- 49:22Speaker 3: These cats like Kyrie Irving in Philadelphia. on his swan
- 49:27Speaker 3: song and then being the face of Philadelphia sports. Back
- 49:32Speaker 3: in the day when you had some NFL offensive lineman
- 49:34Speaker 3: be your Channel 7 at night sports news dude. That
- 49:39Speaker 3: ain't happening no more. And that damn show ain't going
- 49:41Speaker 3: to happen in the future because the bread is up.
- 49:44Speaker 3: And God bless it. God bless these brothers.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Last thing before we go, man. People are going to
- 49:49Speaker 2: talk this up.
- 49:51Speaker 1: What's happening?
- 49:53Speaker 2: It just feels like Aaron Donald looked up and saw
- 49:57Speaker 2: that the Rams had Miles Garrett. It was like, oh,
- 50:01Speaker 2: this will be comically easy. Compton and Long Beach together. Now,
- 50:06Speaker 2: you know, you were in trouble. So Aaron Donald, who
- 50:09Speaker 2: never we never saw fall off. Right. Aaron Donald, one
- 50:13Speaker 2: of the few people in the history of this league
- 50:15Speaker 2: with a claim to being the best player ever at
- 50:17Speaker 2: his position. A claim for being the best defensive player
- 50:22Speaker 2: of his era. In fact, I think that one might
- 50:25Speaker 2: be incontrovertible for the time he came into the league.
- 50:30Speaker 2: Miles Garrett, probably the best defensive player in the league
- 50:34Speaker 2: right now. If they put Aaron Donald next to him,
- 50:42Speaker 2: it doesn't even.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Man.
- 50:44Speaker 2: I feel like you got to let the other team
- 50:46Speaker 2: have 12 people.
- 50:50Speaker 3: Get an extra tight end, widen out that line. Make
- 50:53Speaker 3: Miles have to go around three people instead of two.
- 50:56Speaker 3: You know, to me, the greatest part about this is, well,
- 51:02Speaker 3: the best part for the Rams is that he's still
- 51:03Speaker 3: great because I got to be honest with you.
- 51:06Speaker 1: If Aaron Donald, say.
- 51:07Speaker 3: There was a little bit of a tail off like
- 51:09Speaker 3: you expect after a decade of dominance, who going to
- 51:13Speaker 3: tell him he can't?
- 51:15Speaker 1: Zzzz. Aaron Donald has been working out like real workouts too.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Yes.
- 51:22Speaker 1: And just happened to have a phone around him. And
- 51:23Speaker 1: you're like, that's crazy.
- 51:24Speaker 3: Like the James Harrison workouts where I'm like, what army
- 51:30Speaker 3: are you getting ready to fight, fam? You know what
- 51:34Speaker 3: I'm saying? I'm whispering this now because I don't want
- 51:36Speaker 3: him to hear it. Aaron Donald is doing this damn
- 51:39Speaker 3: near across the street from your facility. His crib is
- 51:41Speaker 3: still his crib in L.A. He just pulled back up
- 51:44Speaker 3: to the... Like, it's the cat who pulled... I used
- 51:46Speaker 3: to do this every once in a while at the
- 51:47Speaker 3: place I used to work at, the radio, where he'd
- 51:50Speaker 3: be like, hey, what's happening? Hey, y'all want to talk today?
- 51:52Speaker 3: Because I ain't got shit to do. I just dropped
- 51:54Speaker 3: the babies off. I got a segment in me. I'm
- 51:55Speaker 3: going to make y'all shit better. And walk in. This
- 51:58Speaker 3: dude did that with an NFL franchise. Like, hey, by
- 52:00Speaker 3: the way, I'm thinking about coming back. And what's Sean
- 52:02Speaker 3: McVay going to do?
- 52:04Speaker 1: Yeah, come on through. You can't tell Aaron Donald no.
- 52:07Speaker 3: And he probably still colder than 85% of the defensive
- 52:12Speaker 3: tackles or defensive ends in the game.
- 52:14Speaker 1: After a year, it's been a year or two. It's
- 52:17Speaker 1: been two years.
- 52:17Speaker 2: I think it's been two years. So he's healthier than
- 52:20Speaker 2: he's been before, but you're right. He's still out there
- 52:23Speaker 2: working out. They probably got a sled in his backyard.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Like he kind of like, he kind.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Of like people, he ripped people to push around. Yeah.
- 52:31Speaker 2: He kind of like Jerry Rice where Jerry Rice's body
- 52:35Speaker 2: obviously couldn't hold up.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 52:38Speaker 2: But Jerry Rice, if you call him in to go
- 52:41Speaker 2: do the conditioning work for your team, He could do it.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Because you know what Jerry Rice did this morning? I
- 52:46Speaker 2: know exactly what Jerry Rice did this morning. You know
- 52:47Speaker 2: what Jerry Rice did this morning?
- 52:50Speaker 1: You want me to say it or you going to
- 52:50Speaker 1: say it?
- 52:51Speaker 2: You go ahead and say it.
- 52:52Speaker 1: He ran that goddamn hill.
- 52:54Speaker 2: He ran that hill. Jerry Rice on that hill right now.
- 52:59Speaker 2: When they showed that, they had Jerry Rice in that
- 53:02Speaker 2: commercial with the old men. The only thing Jerry Rice
- 53:05Speaker 2: did to betray that he was old was like shake
- 53:08Speaker 2: his hand, I think, after he caught the ball or
- 53:09Speaker 2: something like that. But Jerry Rice is like, brother, I'm
- 53:12Speaker 2: not old. Remember Jerry Rice had the cul-de-sac and the braids, right?
- 53:17Speaker 2: With Jerry Rice. Like Jerry Rice, nobody has been born.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Was that the Raiders run? Was that the Raiders or
- 53:21Speaker 1: the Broncos run? Okay.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Nobody's ever been more opposed to being old than Jerry Rice, boy.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Aaron Donald is like that, but Aaron Donald ain't even
- 53:30Speaker 2: that old yet, right? And Aaron Donald's game is also
- 53:35Speaker 2: powered by fury, right? Just like, just, he's, a rich
- 53:42Speaker 2: man's John Randall, right? Like, it's that archetype of player,
- 53:46Speaker 2: that Tasmanian devil type of situation, right? Like, the only
- 53:49Speaker 2: reason he got drafted where he did in the draft
- 53:51Speaker 2: is he just didn't have the measurables. And you just
- 53:53Speaker 2: had to be like, is he so intense that they
- 53:55Speaker 2: don't matter? And the answer turned out to be, yeah, yeah. Like,
- 53:59Speaker 2: he's in a draft with Clowney, and I don't care
- 54:01Speaker 2: what people say. Clowney was good. Clowney did not turn
- 54:02Speaker 2: out to be what we thought he was, but Clowney
- 54:04Speaker 2: was good. Khalil Mack was in that draft. Khalil Mack
- 54:10Speaker 2: is a Hall of Famer, a beast.
- 54:12Speaker 1: All pro at two different positions in the same season.
- 54:15Speaker 2: And is a clear step below Aaron Donald.
- 54:20Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 54:22Speaker 2: And Khalil Mack is still playing. Which is to say, yep,
- 54:25Speaker 2: Aaron Donald is going to come out here and be
- 54:27Speaker 2: next to Miles Garrett. I don't even know who else
- 54:30Speaker 2: plays for them anymore. Let me go get a look
- 54:32Speaker 2: at that. Because you know what? I don't think that
- 54:34Speaker 2: shit matters.
- 54:36Speaker 3: Nah, they're going to put pressure on the quarterback. All
- 54:38Speaker 3: they got to do, really, is keep your boy, you know,
- 54:41Speaker 3: Matt Stafford upright.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's the thing, because he's old. Like, we can...
- 54:45Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on. Before we get to Stafford, I
- 54:47Speaker 2: just want to throw this point out here.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Man, we didn't have to.
- 54:51Speaker 2: By the way, I've barely heard of a significant number
- 54:54Speaker 2: of guys on this Rams defense.
- 54:55Speaker 1: No, yeah, no. It's a lot of really young players
- 54:58Speaker 1: who they counting on to be very good.
- 55:00Speaker 2: All right, they got Trent McDuffie back there. I forgot.
- 55:01Speaker 2: They made that trade. They got Trent McDuffie. All I'm
- 55:04Speaker 2: saying is this. When I worked with Dan Levitard, he
- 55:07Speaker 2: made a point once that stuck with me and it's
- 55:09Speaker 2: the truest thing. I remember hearing John Shoup, former offensive
- 55:12Speaker 2: coordinator in North Carolina and a bunch of pro teams
- 55:14Speaker 2: and in colleges, made the same point where he was like, well,
- 55:19Speaker 2: Shoup made it a different way. Shoup was like, the
- 55:20Speaker 2: most aggressive defenses are the ones that rush four, drop seven,
- 55:24Speaker 2: and just go get people, right? Those great Miami and
- 55:26Speaker 2: Florida State defenses of the past, rushing four, dropping seven.
- 55:31Speaker 2: But Dan's point was there's no more valuable ability in
- 55:36Speaker 2: football than the ability to get pressure with four people.
- 55:40Speaker 2: They might be able to get it with three. They
- 55:43Speaker 2: might be able to get it with two. Remember when
- 55:47Speaker 2: the Eagles destroyed the Chiefs in that Super Bowl? It
- 55:50Speaker 2: looked like they were sending 10 people. They were only
- 55:54Speaker 2: sending four every single time. If the Rams can go
- 56:01Speaker 2: a whole season rushing four, Yeah. And dropping seven.
- 56:07Speaker 1: Yeah. You're going to learn dudes' names.
- 56:10Speaker 3: Cam Curl, like you mentioned, is another really good player
- 56:13Speaker 3: in that back end. They have, I'll say this, if
- 56:17Speaker 3: Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett are healthy for any period
- 56:21Speaker 3: of time together, like let's say they both play 14
- 56:24Speaker 3: games together, it's not far-fetched to think 30 sacks. And
- 56:31Speaker 3: not just sacks, but Aaron Donald gets to the ball.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Miles Garrett gets to the ball. These are the dudes who, no,
- 56:39Speaker 3: we want to disrupt everything and cause havoc. I just
- 56:43Speaker 3: think when it comes down to it, that Rams team,
- 56:48Speaker 3: as long as the quarterback is upright, as long as
- 56:51Speaker 3: the wide receivers stay off the streams and stay healthy,
- 56:55Speaker 3: That's another championship-type run that they should be on because
- 56:59Speaker 3: their five or six most important players are top-of-the-NFL-type-of-position dudes.
- 57:05Speaker 1: And then you got Sean McVay, who.
- 57:07Speaker 3: For whatever reason, we don't talk about like we used to,
- 57:09Speaker 3: but I think he's done some of his best coaching
- 57:12Speaker 3: jobs over these last couple of years.
- 57:15Speaker 1: I got to get back.
- 57:15Speaker 3: To it, though, because I'm going to be mad at
- 57:17Speaker 3: myself if I don't. You mentioned Jerry Rice and the
- 57:20Speaker 3: Aaron Donald comp and always being ready and always running
- 57:22Speaker 3: that damn hill. It's a damn shame that every time
- 57:25Speaker 3: Jerry Rice is mentioned now, not only do I think
- 57:27Speaker 3: of the the 20 touchdown season was in like 12 games,
- 57:32Speaker 3: some stupid shit like that.
- 57:34Speaker 2: And you know why he did that? Because it was
- 57:36Speaker 2: a strike season. And while all them cats was out
- 57:38Speaker 2: here acting like there wasn't going to be no football,
- 57:41Speaker 2: what was Jerry Rice doing?
- 57:44Speaker 1: Running that goddamn hill.
- 57:45Speaker 2: There you go.
- 57:46Speaker 3: But the problem is, I also think of one of
- 57:49Speaker 3: the most notorious moments in marketing history when it comes
- 57:52Speaker 3: to Jerry Rice.
- 57:53Speaker 1: And it's something that I hope Aaron Donald Never.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Oh, it's the chicken.
- 57:59Speaker 1: It's the taste mask.
- 58:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I forgot about the chicken. Yeah, it's the taste mask.
- 58:04Speaker 2: That was a terrible look.
- 58:05Speaker 1: That's one of those things where it's like, I'm Jerry Rice, man. Yeah.
- 58:09Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 58:11Speaker 3: Like, we know, like the newsletter that go out, you know,
- 58:15Speaker 3: every month with us is like, hey, if you're in
- 58:17Speaker 3: a commercial, don't bite the chicken.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 58:21Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 58:22Speaker 3: He not only bit the chicken, he had a drumstick
- 58:25Speaker 3: on a face mask. He did. He called it a
- 58:27Speaker 3: taste mask. He was telling you to go down to
- 58:30Speaker 3: get some chicken with a taste mask. And it was
- 58:33Speaker 3: Jerry Rice smiling in the taste mask. And that shit
- 58:36Speaker 3: hurt me as a kid, man.
- 58:37Speaker 1: It's tough.
- 58:39Speaker 2: It wasn't even as a kid, brother. That was as
- 58:41Speaker 2: a grown man. That was.
- 58:44Speaker 2: Oh, got you. So it was a retroactive situation.
- 58:47Speaker 3: Yeah, the one who knew what Keena Turner was doing
- 58:49Speaker 3: on the other side of the ball for them.
- 58:50Speaker 1: I understand. You know what I mean? I understand. It's
- 58:52Speaker 1: a tough guy. He threw a man in the taste mask, dog.
- 58:55Speaker 2: He threw himself in the taste mask. That's the worst part.
- 58:57Speaker 1: No, no. No, Chris Forster threw himself in something. This
- 59:03Speaker 1: was placed upon him. You know what I'm saying?
- 59:06Speaker 2: Chris Forster, man. Good for him. They're going to have
- 59:11Speaker 2: Tom Rinaldi talk about Chris Forster with the pianos in
- 59:14Speaker 2: the back and shit. The saxophones. They're going to blame
- 59:20Speaker 2: everything on Kiawana.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, for sure.
- 59:23Speaker 2: That's the thing. When Kyle said he made mistakes and
- 59:27Speaker 2: he went to rehab, was it to get off to
- 59:30Speaker 2: black or get off to white? What'd you think he
- 59:32Speaker 2: needed to get himself off of, Kyle? What'd you think
- 59:34Speaker 2: he was trying to fix?
- 59:35Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you something right now. There's one
- 59:36Speaker 1: that he ain't going to never get himself off of,
- 59:38Speaker 1: even if he get himself off of it.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Jason Goff, my man.
- 59:46Speaker 1: You're right.
- 59:47Speaker 2: I appreciate you, brother.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Shout out to Kia Wanda.
- 59:50Speaker 3: Kia Wanda.
- 59:50Speaker 1: I'll see you soon, bro.
- 59:52Speaker 2: All right, man. Ladies and gentlemen, thanks so much for
