- 0:04Speaker 1: Plays get broken down and science gets denied. Our two
- 0:09Speaker 1: of Off the Bench live from the Raising Kine Studio.
- 1:21Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in OTV.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Always always, always want to remind you about our friends
- 1:27Speaker 3: over at rejuve Me.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Rejuve me Medical dot Com is the website. You know.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Filling out a bracket makes me feel like my youthful self,
- 1:34Speaker 3: but only for a couple of minutes, because then it's over.
- 1:37Speaker 3: If I wanted to have that, that kind of lasts
- 1:40Speaker 3: me feeling like my youthful self again, I'd probably have
- 1:42Speaker 3: to go see rejuve Me rejuve Me Medical thirteen locations
- 1:45Speaker 3: all throughout Louisiana. No matter where you're listening to us
- 1:48Speaker 3: in Louisiana.
- 1:49Speaker 2: We're talking to you. Yeah, you up there in the
- 1:51Speaker 2: Port City, They've got a location for you. Rejuve me
- 1:54Speaker 2: Medical dot Com. I want to feel you. Uh uh,
- 2:00Speaker 2: you can fill young game with that mustache.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Up in the Streetport too, Yep, Fitty Sport Citty. You
- 2:06Speaker 3: can be on your way from Tyler, could be stopping
- 2:08Speaker 3: tree and then you could continue on, or you could
- 2:12Speaker 3: just go see him right here.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It's up to you.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Hr T baby would give me medical dot com. All right,
- 2:18Speaker 3: we're looking at our brackets. We're filling out our brackets.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I hate our brackets, but here are where we're.
- 2:24Speaker 4: At my brackets.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Great Matt said he had a system. He didn't didn't
- 2:28Speaker 5: explain what it was.
- 2:29Speaker 6: Okay, So I do have a system, and I would
- 2:32Speaker 6: encourage everybody. I know we're you're filling brackets out at
- 2:34Speaker 6: different places. There's different websites, blah blah blah. But if
- 2:39Speaker 6: you're a listener of this show, I would encourage you
- 2:41Speaker 6: to go to losing a sports dot net and fill
- 2:43Speaker 6: out a bracket and get a little count, and then
- 2:45Speaker 6: you can kind of track. You can also track how
- 2:47Speaker 6: your bracket's doing against us over here and all the
- 2:50Speaker 6: hosts here on one of four five ESPN, And that's
- 2:53Speaker 6: where I'm doing my bracket, and I got a system
- 2:56Speaker 6: in place. Don't follow my bracket because then we have
- 3:00Speaker 6: the exact same bracket, okay, or follow my strategy.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Excuse me.
- 3:05Speaker 6: So I looked at shooting percentages. So we got field
- 3:09Speaker 6: goal percentage, we got three points, and we got free
- 3:12Speaker 6: throw shooting percentage. That's three. So you can't tie in those.
- 3:17Speaker 6: So I just went down and whoever won two out
- 3:21Speaker 6: of three on the shooting percentages wins the game. Okay,
- 3:26Speaker 6: pretty simple, am I right?
- 3:27Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:28Speaker 5: There's worst strategies out there.
- 3:30Speaker 7: There is worst strategies out there.
- 3:31Speaker 8: So John Brady says the field goal stat is the
- 3:34Speaker 8: important stat.
- 3:36Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I'll I say that the combination of
- 3:40Speaker 6: all three of them is the more important stat.
- 3:43Speaker 7: What is John Brady?
- 3:44Speaker 2: You know what I mean what I'm saying.
- 3:46Speaker 7: Obviously I watched three dribbles all season. I like, I
- 3:50Speaker 7: get it.
- 3:50Speaker 4: No, you have way more from a dribblehead.
- 3:53Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean you're you're in it like you get it.
- 3:56Speaker 6: I get it like you gotta know guys what doesn't
- 3:58Speaker 6: get it? When I fill out my brack get and
- 4:00Speaker 6: I give you all a strategy. I'm not just some
- 4:02Speaker 6: guy sure just talking. Uh So in the final four,
- 4:09Speaker 6: Michigan State Vanderbilt because yeah, Arkansas in Michigan. Simple, So
- 4:18Speaker 6: we got a one in there. We don't have four
- 4:20Speaker 6: ones like Jake probably gonna have.
- 4:23Speaker 2: So it's that when.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Because it was one year that all the ones WONK
- 4:29Speaker 6: He's gonna he's gonna the most born going in the
- 4:32Speaker 6: world with the bracket and I want.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Once one time.
- 4:35Speaker 6: It happened with the chalk Answers, so like, I'm just
- 4:37Speaker 6: gonna brag about it forever.
- 4:40Speaker 2: There's winners and losers, Bud, I get it. And there's
- 4:43Speaker 2: loser attitudes too that end up winning.
- 4:47Speaker 6: So we're gonna have Uh. This is based on the system.
- 4:51Speaker 6: In the championship game Vanderbilt number five Vanderbilt versus one Michigan,
- 4:55Speaker 6: and unfortunately, unfortunately, due to this system, a number one
- 5:00Speaker 6: seed will win the National championship and it is Michigan.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Okay, First, what did we say yesterday?
- 5:05Speaker 6: First, Michigan our first Big ten team to win the
- 5:08Speaker 6: National championship since matteen Cleves. Please see that dribblehead dribble heab.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Some are saying, people are talking, so there's my system.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And like it or not?
- 5:21Speaker 4: Great system?
- 5:22Speaker 6: You zero, anybody else have any systems that they like
- 5:30Speaker 6: to go with? Yeah, actually I do.
- 5:33Speaker 5: I look at a team with veteran guard play veteran
- 5:36Speaker 5: guards are also. I mean you just look up the
- 5:40Speaker 5: roster and you're like, how old are these guys?
- 5:42Speaker 6: Uh?
- 5:43Speaker 2: Oldest team wins.
- 5:44Speaker 5: But you gotta have a you gotta have a mixture
- 5:46Speaker 5: of like, you know, young freshman superstar talent with the veterans.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Like that's I also went Michigan because Trey McKinney freshman
- 5:54Speaker 5: guard stud but he's paired with Elliott Kiddo, who's a junior.
- 5:57Speaker 5: He's been there for three years, so I mean it's
- 6:00Speaker 5: that's a mixture of freshman talent veteran leadership. Also, if
- 6:02Speaker 5: you shoot really good free throws is something that I've
- 6:05Speaker 5: always went with, which is why teams like Villanova always
- 6:08Speaker 5: go for they always have veterans always shoot free throw
- 6:10Speaker 5: as well. So that's generally what I look at. That
- 6:14Speaker 5: was the rest of it a crapshoot. Yeah, absolutely.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I always like to go with your record against top
- 6:22Speaker 3: twenty five opponents because that means you're battle tested one
- 6:26Speaker 3: way or the other, and not even.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Necessarily that you have to be like seven and oh.
- 6:30Speaker 3: But if you're like, you know, nine and three, even
- 6:34Speaker 3: against like top twent you lost three games, I'm still
- 6:35Speaker 3: like your battle tests like you've been through the fire.
- 6:37Speaker 3: So that's a big thing for me. It's like what
- 6:39Speaker 3: have you done against the best teams? Also kind of
- 6:42Speaker 3: like what have you done during a three game stretch
- 6:43Speaker 3: where you've had to face like three really good teams.
- 6:47Speaker 2: How do you bounce back after a loss? Like all
- 6:48Speaker 2: those kind of things.
- 6:49Speaker 3: So my final four one's gonna hate it. It's not
- 6:52Speaker 3: all one seeds, but it's high seeds. I have got Florida, Yukon, Arizona,
- 7:03Speaker 3: and Iowa State, so two ones and two two's. I've
- 7:08Speaker 3: got Florida and Arizona in the championship game, with Arizona
- 7:12Speaker 3: winning seventy one to seventy. I can't pick the Florida
- 7:16Speaker 3: Gators to win obviously. Yukon's the one that I don't
- 7:20Speaker 3: feel great about. I don't you know, Duke's choked the
- 7:24Speaker 3: last couple of years.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Seeing John's is a five seed, even though I think
- 7:28Speaker 2: they're better than that. Their biggest was down.
- 7:30Speaker 3: I know they didn't do well in the tournament last year.
- 7:33Speaker 3: That probably plays into it. I think the East is
- 7:36Speaker 3: incredibly easy. It's got a lot of names, but it
- 7:41Speaker 3: doesn't have the depth that people are going to think
- 7:44Speaker 3: by seeing Duke in Kansas and Saint John's and Yukon
- 7:49Speaker 3: and Michigan State, like when I look at other regions,
- 7:54Speaker 3: I think it's going to be much more difficult.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Like I think the Midwest is going to be hell
- 7:59Speaker 2: on wheels.
- 8:00Speaker 3: You got some teams that play physical brands of basketball,
- 8:03Speaker 3: like Texas Tech's gonna be hard, hard out for whoever.
- 8:07Speaker 3: For Michigan if they face them in the sweet sixteen,
- 8:09Speaker 3: that's gonna be hard. I have Texas Tech beating Alabama
- 8:14Speaker 3: right Virginia. They play more offensive basketball than they have
- 8:17Speaker 3: certainly in the past under Tony Bennett. But that's a
- 8:19Speaker 3: team that it's gonna be a hard win. I always
- 8:21Speaker 3: say it's gonna be a hard win. I think the
- 8:23Speaker 3: Midwest is stacked with tough games. I think the East
- 8:26Speaker 3: is all about names.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I don't know man.
- 8:30Speaker 6: Bama's free throw representage is seventy six point five, Texas
- 8:33Speaker 6: Tech seventy one point five.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I mean, neither of those are great, honestly, but Texas
- 8:39Speaker 5: Tech's defense is so much better.
- 8:42Speaker 8: I put zero thought into my bracket. I went off
- 8:45Speaker 8: vibes and my final four Texas Tech versus Texas and
- 8:53Speaker 8: then Duke versus Houston, and then I have Houston and
- 8:56Speaker 8: Texas Tech in the finals.
- 9:01Speaker 4: Houston eighty eight to eighty six.
- 9:05Speaker 2: High scoring like that, like a high scoring.
- 9:09Speaker 4: No thought behind. We like these teams are from Texas.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Let me pick them.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I like that. That's at least a process, and.
- 9:19Speaker 4: I don't know how much of a process that is,
- 9:22Speaker 4: but well, if.
- 9:22Speaker 6: It does win, then you get a brag about how
- 9:24Speaker 6: good your process is. True, that's what we're all looking for.
- 9:29Speaker 6: It's just what is the brag.
- 9:31Speaker 5: She's gotta know she's got a lot of red in
- 9:33Speaker 5: that final as well. True Texas Tech Houston. It's a
- 9:38Speaker 5: battle of the reds.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Get your guns up, Houston. So wait, yeah, they had
- 9:44Speaker 3: to have something there from Texas.
- 9:45Speaker 4: They're the cougars.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I gotta have a hand.
- 9:47Speaker 7: It's gotta be like I like that.
- 9:49Speaker 5: Let's make it that, let's make it that.
- 9:52Speaker 2: We really got to think about this, Like everybody in Texas.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Houston has one Texas Texas Tech, Texas A and M
- 10:02Speaker 3: Baylor t c U.
- 10:06Speaker 6: What's Houston maybe a c S m U has one too.
- 10:13Speaker 6: Everybody that was in the Southwest conference has one.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:18Speaker 5: Some muse was like they were acting like they were
- 10:19Speaker 5: passing out money. M hm, yeah, that's.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Maybe I take a friend here. You're I don't know that.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I don't know because Houston like wasn't I don't know.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah, when you but like, yeah, even before us they
- 10:39Speaker 2: were I take it back.
- 10:40Speaker 6: I don't know if everybody, like in the Southwest, it
- 10:43Speaker 6: was just it was just the Texas teams in the
- 10:46Speaker 6: Southwest Conference.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I think. I don't think it's everybody, because don't think Arkansas.
- 10:50Speaker 4: They just go right, We'll figure it out.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure they have one, though. Gum.
- 10:59Speaker 5: I'm I mean, how do you how do you google
- 11:01Speaker 5: this Houston cougar's hands hand? What is it?
- 11:04Speaker 4: By the way, I have a friend that went to Houston.
- 11:06Speaker 7: Let me ask him what is that?
- 11:10Speaker 4: Should I call him on the air right now?
- 11:13Speaker 7: No, we're not having great luck with people we call.
- 11:18Speaker 4: What's Houston's hand signal?
- 11:21Speaker 6: What is the highest seed that we everybody has in
- 11:24Speaker 6: the know?
- 11:25Speaker 5: They got one here, it has found it.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Is.
- 11:31Speaker 7: This is their idea.
- 11:32Speaker 2: I forgot about.
- 11:33Speaker 5: It means something else in other cultures, but this particular,
- 11:37Speaker 5: this particular time, it is for the Houston Cougars. It
- 11:40Speaker 5: is the cougar pole, as we call it in others.
- 11:46Speaker 5: But this is the cougar pole.
- 11:48Speaker 2: That came out.
- 11:51Speaker 8: What do we call That's.
- 11:54Speaker 5: It's different states to different folks, Matt, but that's the
- 12:00Speaker 5: cougar poul So cougar's Is that what a cougar poul
- 12:03Speaker 5: looks like?
- 12:04Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Obviously they're just messing with us, right I do, Actually
- 12:11Speaker 6: I do remember that being it.
- 12:12Speaker 5: Okay, you have their own little dingle Houston Athletics.
- 12:16Speaker 6: So I think their hand signal came before. You know,
- 12:19Speaker 6: everybody made it weird.
- 12:22Speaker 5: Look there you go.
- 12:25Speaker 6: Well, what makes it different is the index and middle
- 12:28Speaker 6: finger a little bit separated, So it makes it a
- 12:31Speaker 6: little different. Right, So it's not the same. It's not
- 12:35Speaker 6: the same people. Depends on the clientele a lot.
- 12:37Speaker 7: There's only so.
- 12:37Speaker 6: Many hand signals you can make, and that obviously looks
- 12:42Speaker 6: like a cougar.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Paul, No for sure, because no way, it's that.
- 12:51Speaker 7: It is.
- 12:53Speaker 6: But if you put the index in the middle finger together,
- 12:57Speaker 6: then it's a little different.
- 12:59Speaker 7: But it's separated it so it's good. So it's fine.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Here's a here's a fan doing it the hand gesture.
- 13:10Speaker 5: I want to clarify what they're doing. That's why before
- 13:13Speaker 5: I pulled that out. Did you have to verify your age?
- 13:16Speaker 1: No?
- 13:17Speaker 2: I actually doesn't.
- 13:17Speaker 8: What I just watched you pull your idea out.
- 13:23Speaker 6: Literally just watched you pull your rdy out. All right, Well,
- 13:27Speaker 6: there there it is Houston. I ain't got to have
- 13:31Speaker 6: them losing.
- 13:37Speaker 4: Finals.
- 13:38Speaker 2: A and M's beating them. Heard the sash way.
- 13:43Speaker 6: Uh yeah, way A and M field go percentage forty
- 13:48Speaker 6: five point eight, Houston forty five point zero.
- 13:51Speaker 4: I think that's bogus Houston hand sign.
- 13:58Speaker 6: But A and M oh my us two full points
- 14:02Speaker 6: better on three point percentage.
- 14:06Speaker 2: So what was your final four again? Vandy? Who? Uh?
- 14:11Speaker 2: We have.
- 14:14Speaker 6: Vandy Michigan State. Where do you go mission? Yeah, Vandy,
- 14:23Speaker 6: Michigan State, Arkansas and Michigan.
- 14:28Speaker 5: Look, they got the cougar on campus doing it.
- 14:32Speaker 9: Well.
- 14:33Speaker 5: They literally bent one of the word is one of
- 14:35Speaker 5: the fingers?
- 14:37Speaker 4: Do cougars have one? Like how our thumb is?
- 14:40Speaker 6: I don't think that's a cougar pol at all that's
- 14:42Speaker 6: on their campus. H Maybe the original cougar mascot had
- 14:49Speaker 6: his ring finger cut off.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Maybe Anyways, anyho, Taylor, did you say who yours was?
- 15:02Speaker 7: Oh?
- 15:02Speaker 5: My final four is Houston, Michigan, Arkansas, Duke. I have
- 15:08Speaker 5: Houston and Michigan in the final, with Michigan winning, let's go.
- 15:14Speaker 2: So we Yeah, we're believing that stick's gonna end. Yeah.
- 15:17Speaker 6: I got Vandy Michigan in the championship game. All right,
- 15:24Speaker 6: Michigan's gonna win that game to eighty four seventy eight.
- 15:27Speaker 3: We're we're uh far away apart because I got Michigan
- 15:30Speaker 3: State losing uh to South Florida. Wow, whoa Now now
- 15:37Speaker 3: I picked too many upsets? Now too edgy?
- 15:41Speaker 5: I think picked that's like's.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Gonna make fun of your bracket no matter what.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Imagine like buying this foam finger.
- 15:49Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I mean in all honestly, it's probably the
- 15:55Speaker 6: highest selling foam finger in the coast copy.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I mean, obviously it is.
- 16:07Speaker 3: H And on that note, yeah, y'all want to go
- 16:14Speaker 3: to break, we will take a break, wouldn't we come back?
- 16:20Speaker 3: I do want to ask about a we talked about
- 16:23Speaker 3: a little bit yesterday. A guy's getting mocked to the Saints,
- 16:27Speaker 3: and I pushed back on it a little bit. And
- 16:29Speaker 3: there's some people that want this player, and I've got
- 16:33Speaker 3: to rebuttal to it, and I'd love to hear your
- 16:36Speaker 3: take on it. Guys, with a way the mood you're
- 16:39Speaker 3: in today, I got a feeling we're gonna be discussed.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Whatever it is, it's gonna be opposite exactly more OTV

- 19:03Speaker 2: Sir food, it's playing.
- 19:14Speaker 3: All right, Welcome back in oh TV here live from
- 19:17Speaker 3: the Raised King Studio.
- 19:21Speaker 2: In mel kiper Junior's latest Mick draft.
- 19:24Speaker 3: He's got Carnal Tait receiver out of Ohio state number
- 19:27Speaker 3: eight overall to the New Orleans Saints. And I got
- 19:30Speaker 3: a little back and forth on social media where they
- 19:33Speaker 3: got Hunt Palmer Hunt likes to pick, and my rebuttal
- 19:36Speaker 3: to the pick was, let's see if I can even
- 19:39Speaker 3: read it verbatim here. So I want to make sure
- 19:44Speaker 3: I get this right, Vanity, did you That's what I'm No.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I would never not till I got Hunt palm merrow.
- 19:52Speaker 5: Yeah, we know how you get on Twitter, though.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I really look, it was just more of he's been
- 19:57Speaker 3: a receiver to in college. And I understand that Jeremiah
- 20:02Speaker 3: Smith was there. I understand that Marvin Harrison Junior was there.
- 20:05Speaker 2: I do.
- 20:05Speaker 3: I get that. I understand that part. But he's always
- 20:08Speaker 3: been a two. In fact, he was a two last year.
- 20:09Speaker 3: He was a three their national championship here because it
- 20:12Speaker 3: was Marvin Harrison Junior, Jeremia Smith and then it was
- 20:14Speaker 3: Cardinal Tate. All right, that's and then you know a
- 20:17Speaker 3: couple of people are like, you ever heard of Jeremiah Smith?
- 20:19Speaker 2: No, tell me more, who's that guy? Uh? Yeah, he's
- 20:22Speaker 2: really good. He is.
- 20:23Speaker 3: That still doesn't take away from Carneal Tate never being
- 20:27Speaker 3: a number one receiver in college football. Jeremi Smith's elite.
- 20:31Speaker 3: There's elite players all across the NFL. But that's not
- 20:34Speaker 3: even the point. Like I do have some concerns that
- 20:37Speaker 3: he's never been a one and you're gonna take him
- 20:39Speaker 3: number eight overall and hunt rebuttal was a Mecca Abuca,
- 20:43Speaker 3: Jaylen Waddle and Justin Jefferson were twos in college and
- 20:47Speaker 3: they turned out. Okay, it's a big difference for me
- 20:50Speaker 3: in those guys in Cardinal Tate. And I'll tell you
- 20:52Speaker 3: why Carneal Tate's best season was fifty one catches eight
- 20:56Speaker 3: seventy five. Justin Jefferson had fifty four for eight seventy
- 21:02Speaker 3: five and twenty eighteen. So his junior year, the year
- 21:08Speaker 3: that he was good but we don't talk about, was
- 21:11Speaker 3: as good as Cardinal Tate's best year. He also had
- 21:15Speaker 3: one hundred and eleven catches for fifteen forty his senior
- 21:19Speaker 3: year in eighteen touchdowns. Justin Jefferson also ran a four
- 21:24Speaker 3: to four to three at the combine. Carneal Tate ran
- 21:27Speaker 3: a four to five to three. It's not the same person.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Jefferson actually went twenty second overall. He didn't even go
- 21:34Speaker 3: in the top ten relative athletics score for Carnal Tait.
- 21:39Speaker 3: The thing the Saints love was A sixty five was
- 21:42Speaker 3: the fortieth best for receivers at the combine. Fortieth. A
- 21:48Speaker 3: Mecca Buca o high state guy. He mentioned him being
- 21:52Speaker 3: a two in college. A Mecca Buca had two thousand
- 21:55Speaker 3: yard seasons in college. Cornel Tate didn't have any. Amecca
- 21:59Speaker 3: Buka was also the ninth teenth pick, not the eighth pick.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Jalen Wattle six pick overall. Now stats, if you want
- 22:07Speaker 3: to argue that, yeah, his stats are kind of similar.
- 22:09Speaker 3: He didn't have a thousand yard season, But Jalen Waddle
- 22:13Speaker 3: was an elite athlete who was the SEC Special Teams
- 22:20Speaker 3: Player of the Year, the SEC Freshman of the Year,
- 22:23Speaker 3: All First Team, All SEC, NCAA average prot return leader
- 22:28Speaker 3: in twenty nineteen, so he led the entire country in
- 22:31Speaker 3: punk return yards. So he was an elite athlete who
- 22:35Speaker 3: had elite return skills and ran a four to three seven.
- 22:39Speaker 3: It's not the same player as Cardinal Tate, So that's
- 22:41Speaker 3: my point. Like the people that you're going to compare
- 22:43Speaker 3: him to the number two receivers, well in Mega Buca
- 22:47Speaker 3: had thousand yard seasons two of them. Cardinal Tate didn't
- 22:50Speaker 3: have any. Jalen Wattle was a freak athlete. Cardinal Tate's
- 22:55Speaker 3: a good football player, not an elite athlete. Justin Jefferson
- 22:59Speaker 3: had fifteen teen hundred receiving yards and eighteen touchdowns.
- 23:03Speaker 2: He wasn't a two.
- 23:05Speaker 3: You just had two ones, which Everson and Chase, and
- 23:08Speaker 3: again Jets ran a four to four to three. You
- 23:11Speaker 3: can run a four to five to three. It's a
- 23:12Speaker 3: different player as well. So it's not the fact that
- 23:16Speaker 3: you ever heard of Jeremiah Smith. Yeah, guy's really good.
- 23:19Speaker 3: He's gonna be a top five pick probably next year.
- 23:22Speaker 3: But also I'm looking at the production, with the athletic score,
- 23:26Speaker 3: with the forty time, and we're talking about a top
- 23:29Speaker 3: eight pick at receiver. If I select you in the
- 23:32Speaker 3: top ten of receiver, I feel like you have got
- 23:35Speaker 3: to be either highly productive or highly athletic. And right now,
- 23:40Speaker 3: Cardial Tait, who's gonna be a good pro? I don't
- 23:44Speaker 3: think he's gonna be an elite pro, certainly not a
- 23:47Speaker 3: top eight pick, and there's nothing wrong with that. But
- 23:49Speaker 3: I'm looking at what he's going to be and he's
- 23:52Speaker 3: going to help teams win football games. But there's gonna
- 23:55Speaker 3: be a more talented player that can help you out
- 23:58Speaker 3: way sooner, in my opinion than Cardellis take.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Scouting is hard. Hitting in a draft is hard no
- 24:07Speaker 6: matter the position, because you can always you can have
- 24:10Speaker 6: a kid that is a can't miss prospect, all world athletic,
- 24:16Speaker 6: have everything, and you can still not hit a high
- 24:19Speaker 6: percentage of the time on that person. It is hard
- 24:23Speaker 6: to pick players to understand exactly and to guess really predict,
- 24:29Speaker 6: and that's what you're doing. You're predicting that they're going
- 24:31Speaker 6: to be good. Everybody, no matter how good you are,
- 24:34Speaker 6: no matter what draft you take them, you're predicting that
- 24:36Speaker 6: they're going.
- 24:36Speaker 2: To be able to do something.
- 24:38Speaker 6: It's extremely hard to do. It's especially hard to do
- 24:43Speaker 6: when you're talking about a top ten pick. It's different
- 24:47Speaker 6: if you have a single digit number by your name
- 24:52Speaker 6: as a draft pick.
- 24:53Speaker 2: You have to be.
- 24:56Speaker 6: Over over criticized for Everything's tape really good? Yeah, he
- 25:02Speaker 6: is really good. Yeah, he's not top ten. Yeah, for
- 25:05Speaker 6: all those things that you just said, you just listened
- 25:07Speaker 6: out justin Jefferson.
- 25:09Speaker 2: He was a twenty second pick.
- 25:10Speaker 6: Yeah, and we gave the comp out the other day.
- 25:13Speaker 6: We're talking about the eighth overall pick in the draft.
- 25:16Speaker 6: Over everybody available, you can't pick a guy that's a
- 25:20Speaker 6: number two wide receiver on a team. Untheless, there's some
- 25:26Speaker 6: other special things that go with that, yes, right, And
- 25:30Speaker 6: are there really good things that go with it?
- 25:31Speaker 2: Yet? Is he is? He deserve to be in a
- 25:33Speaker 2: first rounder? Yeah? Why not? Especially with this Joel Like,
- 25:36Speaker 2: it's not.
- 25:36Speaker 6: Like they get this crazy room of wide receivers going
- 25:39Speaker 6: to be sitting in the green room.
- 25:42Speaker 2: So will he go first run?
- 25:43Speaker 1: Ya?
- 25:43Speaker 2: He should for sure, But well should he go eight?
- 25:46Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 25:48Speaker 6: If you want him, trade back to get him because
- 25:51Speaker 6: he'll be there, right, And we looked at the comps
- 25:54Speaker 6: for that specific pick. In the last since the year
- 25:57Speaker 6: two thousand, there's been two receivers taking at the uber
- 26:00Speaker 6: eight pick. Yeah, Ted Roe, McMillan, McMillan and Drake London.
- 26:03Speaker 6: Is this guy one of them?
- 26:07Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know.
- 26:09Speaker 6: You never know, but all you can do is what
- 26:11Speaker 6: you can make a decision based on based on all
- 26:15Speaker 6: the evidence provided, and he's provided that he's really good.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Drake so had a relative athletics score of seventy five.
- 26:24Speaker 6: So it's not real close. That is not the pick.
- 26:28Speaker 6: Nol Kuiper might be losing your fastball.
- 26:34Speaker 4: I don't think he ever had a change up.
- 26:37Speaker 6: He at least he could. He was a junk pitcher.
- 26:40Speaker 6: They could throw some stuff. Last year he kind of
- 26:43Speaker 6: lost it though.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yeah, to your point, like Drake London did have a
- 26:46Speaker 2: thousand yard year in college as well. But I mean
- 26:48Speaker 2: to your point, like, if you're not the production, you
- 26:53Speaker 2: got to be a freak athlete, and that's that's what
- 26:55Speaker 2: Drake London was.
- 26:56Speaker 6: Yeah, four or five four and four fat four is
- 27:01Speaker 6: not screaming that you talk about waddle. Yeah, but he
- 27:06Speaker 6: also had the wow factor that you saw, there was
- 27:09Speaker 6: a wow factor three seven guy. But like you that
- 27:12Speaker 6: wow factor Pops, I.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Mean Drake Lyn and somebody that played basketball usc too.
- 27:18Speaker 3: He's that kind of as Tedoro McMillan like you just mentioned.
- 27:22Speaker 3: I mean we're talking about offensive rookie of the year
- 27:25Speaker 3: and he was the clear yeah number one on his
- 27:29Speaker 3: Arizona team. And he was a four to four guy
- 27:31Speaker 3: as well. He's a big guy.
- 27:32Speaker 6: So the heater that Mickey Loomis is on right now,
- 27:35Speaker 6: I say, there's no way, no way he's gonna make
- 27:37Speaker 6: that bad move.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I just don't want it at eight.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Like if you were picking at eighteen, all right, yeah,
- 27:45Speaker 3: sure whatever, and you'll my last ten spots. That's a
- 27:48Speaker 3: big difference in the town. Like you might have Reuben
- 27:52Speaker 3: Bain fall to you might happen, and I know he's
- 27:56Speaker 3: got the short arms and that's why he would fall
- 27:58Speaker 3: to you.
- 27:59Speaker 2: That guy's explode. It can play across the d line.
- 28:02Speaker 6: And you say, like, what's the bit like ten ten spots, Well,
- 28:04Speaker 6: what's the big difference If that's the point of need
- 28:06Speaker 6: for your team, you go get them. I agree with
- 28:09Speaker 6: that statement a little bit, but the big difference is
- 28:11Speaker 6: if you have a single digit draft pick, it is
- 28:13Speaker 6: highly valuable to other teams that do have an actual
- 28:17Speaker 6: need with a guy that's going to be picked up.
- 28:20Speaker 2: So you have a value.
- 28:22Speaker 6: You have a valuable asset that can garner you other
- 28:25Speaker 6: assets while also getting the same guy later. You can
- 28:29Speaker 6: get that guy. You don't have to reach for him.
- 28:31Speaker 6: You can sell your asset, get more stuff and still
- 28:34Speaker 6: get the same person.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Is what we are trying to say about Carneal Tape.
- 28:40Speaker 3: The Saints hold an incredibly valued draft choice, not just
- 28:45Speaker 3: because it's in the top eight, but because of what's
- 28:50Speaker 3: going to be available and what the teams behind them need.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Kansas City has a lot of the same needs, Cincinnati, Miami, Dallas,
- 29:01Speaker 3: who has two first round picks. I talked with Steven
- 29:06Speaker 3: Jones at the combine. They he said defense forty seven
- 29:11Speaker 3: times in our interview. He mentioned Monsieur Delaine three times
- 29:16Speaker 3: in our interview. All right, if he's available and he.
- 29:19Speaker 8: Knows he visited right Mark, he's going to do a
- 29:22Speaker 8: top visit.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Yeah, no to the Cowboy, Yes, I think so.
- 29:26Speaker 3: If he knows that the Saints could select him, the
- 29:28Speaker 3: Chiefs could select him, the Bengals could select.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Him, and the Dolphins. Why not call Mickey Loomis.
- 29:34Speaker 7: Call Mickey and say, hey, give me eight.
- 29:36Speaker 5: I'll give you both of my first round picks. You
- 29:41Speaker 5: have to take that deal.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, if he even gives you twelve and a
- 29:46Speaker 3: second and a fourth, you got to think long and
- 29:48Speaker 3: hard about it, depending on.
- 29:50Speaker 2: What your niece are and who's there. Yeah, do it.
- 29:54Speaker 2: So the Saints are in a great spot.
- 29:56Speaker 3: They really are just being at the combine hearing people
- 29:59Speaker 3: talk about their kne and what they want and who
- 30:01Speaker 3: possibly could be available. All the teams directly behind the
- 30:06Speaker 3: Saints going all the way to twelve have a lot
- 30:08Speaker 3: of the needs.
- 30:10Speaker 6: You're holding a good hand. You just gotta play it right. Yes,
- 30:12Speaker 6: you gotta play it out right. You got a bluff,
- 30:16Speaker 6: gotta go all in, gotta hold him, gotta fold them
- 30:20Speaker 6: whatever it is. So Kenny Rodgers said, you gotta know
- 30:22Speaker 6: when to do it. Yeah, and Mickey, we trust though
- 30:30Speaker 6: I don't know if I do, But come on, name
- 30:33Speaker 6: me a better GM in the last twelve months.
- 30:36Speaker 5: Name me one Chunck Snodder is pretty good.
- 30:39Speaker 4: I was gonna khitch you with that because I know
- 30:41Speaker 4: you love him.
- 30:42Speaker 2: That's what John Schneider's real good. You're like, all right,
- 30:44Speaker 2: give me three.
- 30:47Speaker 6: Well, that's you're you're basing that on a career. I
- 30:52Speaker 6: said the twelve in the last twelve months, nobody's nobody's
- 30:55Speaker 6: got the hardware that Mickey does for that draft class.
- 30:58Speaker 4: You're right, it's true.
- 30:59Speaker 6: We gotta I got hardware. Hang the banners because you
- 31:05Speaker 6: can definitely tell draft class after one year.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Mm hmm. Tyler Shuck saved Mickey.
- 31:15Speaker 6: Loomis Or did Mickey Loomis save Tyler Shuck?
- 31:23Speaker 5: No, it's a good point.
- 31:26Speaker 3: All right, we will take a break. We've got much
- 31:29Speaker 3: more OTV coming your way. We've got chef Michael Johnson.
- 31:32Speaker 3: We've got coach Jay Johnson joining us as well to
- 31:35Speaker 3: kind of give a preview of the Oklahoma series.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Remember that starts tonight.
- 31:39Speaker 3: That is a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and you should be
- 31:42Speaker 3: in the PMAC on Sunday series. We'll take a break
- 31:45Speaker 3: more OTB when we come back from the Raisin King studio.
- 31:47Speaker 2: After bench and while you're waiting.
- 31:50Speaker 3: On the baseball game to start, you can tailgate and
- 31:53Speaker 3: you can have an ice cold do sekis, or if
- 31:56Speaker 3: you're not going to the box, if you're just watching,
- 31:58Speaker 3: maybe you're listening to us up in Alexandria's report.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Can't make it down tonight.
- 32:03Speaker 3: You should have your feet up with an ice cold
- 32:04Speaker 3: dough sequis in your hand, watching on the TV.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Or listening on the radio Eagle ninety eight point one. See,
- 32:10Speaker 2: there's a lot of ways that you can enjoy that
- 32:12Speaker 2: ice cold do sequis. Watching a little LSU baseball.
- 32:15Speaker 7: Yeah, there's countless ways.
- 32:17Speaker 6: If you're gonna do it, whether it's at home, at
- 32:20Speaker 6: a tailgate, at a local pub, wherever you choose to
- 32:24Speaker 6: have a good time, maybe share a couple of laughs
- 32:26Speaker 6: with some friends, with a little Fella's night, ladies night.
- 32:29Speaker 7: Whatever it does, make sure you're.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Gonna do it.
- 32:31Speaker 6: You're gonna have a couple of beers, a couple of
- 32:32Speaker 6: cold pops. Do it responsibly, but also do it with
- 32:35Speaker 6: the best. And the best is Dose Sekies from the
- 32:38Speaker 6: Logger Especial, the Amber Especia. They got the micheladas that
- 32:41Speaker 6: they got, the lime in Salt Sea Road they got,
- 32:43Speaker 6: they got a beer for every single taste. So stay thirsty,
- 32:47Speaker 6: my friends, drink Dose Sickie.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven, Champs Purple and Gold to the core.
- 33:33Speaker 1: This is off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Matt
- 33:37Speaker 1: and Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 33:43Speaker 9: Watching wed It. She said, Ron, what you think you agree?
- 34:00Speaker 9: She can't time by the public jacket. Wall Is, you've
- 34:07Speaker 9: got ready you wing on again.
- 34:18Speaker 10: Watch out Moon, She'll shoot you up. She's fat, Watch
- 34:29Speaker 10: out more, she'll.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Show you up.
- 34:31Speaker 2: That's what people say about my, uh my black widow jeep.
- 34:35Speaker 3: If she comes just sit there and they look at
- 34:38Speaker 3: it and they're like, wow, incredible.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Look at her coming down the road.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Brings a tear to a glass eye. That's what it does.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Value Automotives the website, you should go check it out.
- 34:49Speaker 3: They've got black black Widows available right now, Matthew.
- 34:52Speaker 2: They do. They're there. They got an all black.
- 34:55Speaker 7: One for long ago.
- 34:57Speaker 3: And it's different options to like, different vehicles are gonna
- 34:59Speaker 3: be able to put that package on.
- 35:01Speaker 2: It's gonna blow you away.
- 35:02Speaker 3: And I like, I mean that, like we have we're
- 35:06Speaker 3: finding reasons to drive and put the top down in
- 35:09Speaker 3: this black widow jeep. Thanks to buy You Automotive. It's

- 35:38Speaker 6: their book in the Cool Factor. Now you're at notch one,
- 35:41Speaker 6: So like congratulations.
- 35:43Speaker 3: At the Black Widow got me into two and he
- 35:44Speaker 3: got you. I think we just bought two spots.
- 35:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 6: The first time I saw it, I was like, WHOA,
- 35:49Speaker 6: take it easy, Black Widow, say something for the rest
- 35:51Speaker 6: of us. You know what I mean by the automotive,
- 35:54Speaker 6: they're fantastic. Buy you Automotive dot Com and they like
- 35:56Speaker 6: they're headquartered in Laplause, but like most their sales are,
- 36:00Speaker 6: like in the batan Ruis New Orleans. Because I got
- 36:02Speaker 6: nine full time drivers. Vine's never been easier. You don't
- 36:05Speaker 6: even have to like show up. You can do everything
- 36:07Speaker 6: online or you can show up. And they got an
- 36:08Speaker 6: amazing staff there at the dealership, so uh, fantastic and
- 36:12Speaker 6: just like Jake said, everything is just easy right there by.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Motive all right, you said you're gonna give us, Yeah,
- 36:20Speaker 3: we don't think coming back.
- 36:21Speaker 7: Yeah we have.
- 36:23Speaker 6: We were talking about the Houston Cougar hand signal, and
- 36:26Speaker 6: so it just kind of thinking about like cougar's in general,
- 36:29Speaker 6: and like, what's this. So we saw the hand signal,
- 36:30Speaker 6: which I mean, frankly was shocking when we figured out
- 36:34Speaker 6: what it was. Can so we're gonna show can you
- 36:36Speaker 6: show us like what it looks like the foam finger?
- 36:40Speaker 6: You show us that this is the hands signal for
- 36:43Speaker 6: the University of Houston, obviously because that's the cougar Paul.
- 36:50Speaker 5: They just said, oh yeah, it's a cougar par It
- 36:51Speaker 5: doesn't been anything else. Well, it got me thinking, like
- 36:55Speaker 5: what does a cougar Paul really look like? Can you
- 36:57Speaker 5: show what a cougar.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Pol looks like?
- 37:00Speaker 4: Not like the hand signal, like a.
- 37:01Speaker 7: Standard paul like dog pole.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I got the pads. I got four up top.
- 37:09Speaker 7: You know, a little thumb thing, big pad, normal paul.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 6: So I was like, no, well, this isn't right. They're
- 37:16Speaker 6: just messing with us at this point. They just wanted
- 37:18Speaker 6: to do some hand signal and then they made it up. Yeah,
- 37:22Speaker 6: so this is all different types of animal paus here
- 37:25Speaker 6: there's a coucker ball.
- 37:28Speaker 4: Doesn't look like this.
- 37:29Speaker 6: Doesn't at all. Yeah, so I got to doing a
- 37:34Speaker 6: little research. Okay, there is a there's a background to this.
- 37:37Speaker 6: There's a historical background. It dates back to nineteen fifty three.
- 37:41Speaker 6: Whoa all right, nineteen fifty three your freshman year, the
- 37:46Speaker 6: Houston Cougar live mascot. What freshman year you're old? Okay,
- 37:53Speaker 6: the live mascot for the Houston Cougars. They were traveling
- 37:55Speaker 6: to take on those dirty Longhorns from the universe City.
- 38:00Speaker 7: Of Texas mascot. The was Shasta.
- 38:05Speaker 6: Old Shasta got her finger cut in the door, the
- 38:08Speaker 6: cage door. Sever finger lost it gone. So at this
- 38:15Speaker 6: point this was like, this was back in the days
- 38:17Speaker 6: where people like to steal mascots.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Texas A and M.
- 38:21Speaker 6: They captured Bevo, they cooked them before the game, fed
- 38:25Speaker 6: them to the Texas A and M players. I don't
- 38:26Speaker 6: know if y'all know that story or no. So but
- 38:30Speaker 6: this is like fun mascot times.
- 38:31Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 38:32Speaker 6: Maybe Texas chopped off Shasta's finger, I'll know. So the
- 38:35Speaker 6: fans from ut they would hold up, they would point
- 38:41Speaker 6: a finger down in mock Houston. They would mock the
- 38:45Speaker 6: fan base, they would laugh at the Houston Cougar. So
- 38:48Speaker 6: they had hold a finger down to say, oh, you
- 38:50Speaker 6: lost your finger, losers. Well, I guess what Houston embraced it.
- 38:55Speaker 6: They just said like, oh, you're gonna call me a dork.
- 38:57Speaker 6: I'm just gonna call myself a dork, so you lose
- 38:59Speaker 6: all power. So they just came up with this hand
- 39:01Speaker 6: signal where they took the ring finger, held it down
- 39:04Speaker 6: with their thumb and said, nope, we're the Houston Cougs.
- 39:07Speaker 5: Yeah, you're right, nobody's going to make fun of them.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Now that guy.
- 39:12Speaker 7: If thisbody's making fun.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Of that, actually, I think it's worse now.
- 39:15Speaker 6: In nineteen fifty three, they're like, no one could ever
- 39:17Speaker 6: make fun of this situation.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Well, to be fair, everybody in nineteen fifty three were
- 39:21Speaker 4: kind of dorks.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Yep.
- 39:22Speaker 6: And so now except with what that actually kind of
- 39:26Speaker 6: means to most people.
- 39:28Speaker 8: Oh, how the turntables, right, except so now the tables.
- 39:33Speaker 4: Have turned again.
- 39:34Speaker 5: You were talking about the ring finger. I'm glad you
- 39:36Speaker 5: brought that up. They use this for their graduation ceremonies,
- 39:40Speaker 5: and they call it put a ring on it, obviously,
- 39:43Speaker 5: but you can't put a ring on it because the
- 39:47Speaker 5: ring finger's gone. But if you want a little extra.
- 39:50Speaker 7: You can add the ring extra curricular.
- 39:52Speaker 5: It'll work.
- 39:54Speaker 6: Those rings are big. Imagine like just continuing to embrace it.
- 40:00Speaker 4: I can't and then like I'm trying.
- 40:03Speaker 8: I told you all, like I texted my friend that
- 40:05Speaker 8: goes to Houston and he's over here defending it and
- 40:07Speaker 8: calling me an ass.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Like probably like like you're the first person I ever
- 40:14Speaker 5: thought of that palke it easy.
- 40:16Speaker 8: You don't get it, you do it, he said, He said,
- 40:19Speaker 8: it's the Paul put it all.
- 40:22Speaker 6: It's not all Paul, Like, yeah, okay.
- 40:28Speaker 7: Seventy four years ago, I.
- 40:31Speaker 4: Was, y'all are wild.
- 40:34Speaker 5: Crazy just outwardly doing it too, Like on family Day,
- 40:39Speaker 5: they don't care. Threw up the cougar bowl.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Yeah, grandmother's.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Well that's crazy. Grandma is just out.
- 40:48Speaker 7: Here by four year olds. I don't at that cougar pol.
- 40:57Speaker 4: Actually, like no, it like makes me restrict it less.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Yeah right now, mm hmm.
- 41:03Speaker 6: I don't know if the first player you think of.
- 41:06Speaker 6: I don't know if that term was as shocking in
- 41:08Speaker 6: the nineteen fifty.
- 41:09Speaker 4: Now just recency bias.
- 41:11Speaker 8: No, it's not recently bias Tanner cocial just because of
- 41:15Speaker 8: like he's.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Called another pass.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Yeah, is it cocial or what is it cozy?
- 41:22Speaker 2: No, it's not, it's not.
- 41:23Speaker 4: We asked him, and I don't remember. Maybe he's a cozial.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I think it actually is.
- 41:27Speaker 4: But there's like an Arkansas trust me. I interviewed him
- 41:30Speaker 4: and I asked him, yeah, because we asked him.
- 41:32Speaker 3: To this pronunciation guy is playing tricks on my mind.
- 41:36Speaker 3: He started laughing. He goes, yeah, my whole life.
- 41:39Speaker 4: But there is somebody with kocial in baseball. I don't remember.
- 41:42Speaker 3: It's like if it's a U L L like at
- 41:44Speaker 3: the pronunciation guy because I asked him because I was
- 41:48Speaker 3: I was the same way as tATu.
- 41:49Speaker 2: I'm like, no, that's that's not right.
- 41:51Speaker 4: We asked too.
- 41:52Speaker 2: He's he's going to be like a fourth to fifth
- 41:55Speaker 2: round draft choice.
- 41:56Speaker 5: He's going to be really good, really really really good.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Ninety something catches the bowling green. How was he? Was
- 42:03Speaker 2: he better than uh?
