- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with i R Radio. Hello everyone, welcome to the Almost
- 0:07Speaker 1: Famous podcast. I am joined by Ben, who literally goes
- 0:11Speaker 1: on an airplane and stops at a new city every week.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Do you guys want to hear about Ben's travels because
- 0:18Speaker 1: I know we talked about it every week, but like,
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'm truly mind boggled how somebody flies around as often
- 0:24Speaker 1: and how many different foundations you're involved with. Well, that's
- 0:30Speaker 1: very nice. I was just actually so lest we talked.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I gotten back from Ohio and then Jessica and I
- 0:37Speaker 1: which is very nice because I don't always get to
- 0:39Speaker 1: travel with my wife. We just got back from Baltimore.
- 0:44Speaker 1: We went to Baltimore this weekend because, as I've mentioned
- 0:48Speaker 1: many times and I can't mention enough, my best friend
- 0:53Speaker 1: was diagnosed with ALS and so this was his big
- 0:56Speaker 1: fundraiser was in Baltimore because his wife was a Balti
- 1:00Speaker 1: More Ravens cheerleader and so the Baltimore Ravens do a
- 1:02Speaker 1: lot to make the event special and so Jessica I
- 1:06Speaker 1: flew out for that this year for the Conley cause.
- 1:09Speaker 1: If you want to still support, you can still do
- 1:10Speaker 1: that at their go fund me pager visit them on Instagram.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But it was really cool. Um, so we did a
- 1:16Speaker 1: quick trip out there and now I'm home for a week.
- 1:19Speaker 1: And it's weird when a week feels like a long time,
- 1:23Speaker 1: but it does feels like a long time. I am
- 1:28Speaker 1: going to Nashville for a Humanity and Hope United if
- 1:34Speaker 1: anybody wants to join. It's open to the public. Fundraiser
- 1:38Speaker 1: in Nashville next week and so we have a couple
- 1:41Speaker 1: of board meetings and then a fundraiser, so I'll be
- 1:44Speaker 1: there for that. But yeah, it's open to the public
- 1:46Speaker 1: and we have like a really good In fact, she's
- 1:50Speaker 1: very well known, an incredible chefu minique is I think
- 1:58Speaker 1: it's chewhan is how you say here? She's like all
- 2:02Speaker 1: over the food network. I know who you're talking about,
- 2:05Speaker 1: you know, it's so weird. What there's a girl that
- 2:07Speaker 1: works at Audrey's who has an internship there at her
- 2:10Speaker 1: restaurant in Nashville, but she's leaving us in a couple
- 2:13Speaker 1: of months to go. Yeah, I guess she's incredible. I've
- 2:15Speaker 1: never had her food, obviously, I know her from television,
- 2:18Speaker 1: but she's coming to do with the food at the event.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So that's gonna be super fun, super fun for that.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Very cool. No, do you have any high tips for
- 2:27Speaker 1: us when it comes to the airport, Like, do you
- 2:30Speaker 1: like you must have some advanced knowledge? I thought that
- 2:35Speaker 1: I got on planes a lot, but like, yeah, what
- 2:38Speaker 1: do you do obviously pre check? And then do you
- 2:40Speaker 1: have Clear and pre check? Oh? Well yes I have both,
- 2:44Speaker 1: but these days I just go through the pre check
- 2:46Speaker 1: line because Clear has backed up. Everybody got Clear. I
- 2:48Speaker 1: don't know why and where and how. Some credit card
- 2:52Speaker 1: must have done some type of promotion because everybody has it,
- 2:54Speaker 1: and that line's longer usually and takes longer than preaching. Yeah,
- 2:57Speaker 1: it's because they say, like you're like, oh the lines long,
- 3:00Speaker 1: we can help you get three of that right now today,
- 3:03Speaker 1: just sign up right here. So that's why, you know,
- 3:05Speaker 1: that's why I think so many people have Clear now
- 3:07Speaker 1: that that's why you need to have Clear plus pre
- 3:10Speaker 1: check because that's a whole new line. Now. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:13Speaker 1: it's a great line. Um, it's a good line. Here's
- 3:15Speaker 1: here's my tips. I'll I'll run through we you know,
- 3:17Speaker 1: a few years ago we did a segment called ben Bitches.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It was awesome. I have a few I missed it
- 3:23Speaker 1: too top down or something. No, we just ran out
- 3:26Speaker 1: of things to get mad about. I don't I don't know. Uh,
- 3:29Speaker 1: you know, we stop that because I couldn't come up
- 3:31Speaker 1: with anything else that I was upset about. Most of
- 3:33Speaker 1: my irritability comes from the airport, and so I'm gonna
- 3:36Speaker 1: start with my three tips to just make everybody's lives
- 3:39Speaker 1: easier at the airport. Okay, My first one, UM very
- 3:44Speaker 1: obvious one for most people. When you're on an airplane, Uh,
- 3:48Speaker 1: you exit by rows, typically front to back. Sometimes there's
- 3:52Speaker 1: like an exit in the middle, and you wait till
- 3:54Speaker 1: the person in front of you, no matter how slow
- 3:56Speaker 1: they are, no matter how lazy they are are or
- 4:00Speaker 1: old they are, so it takes them a while to
- 4:01Speaker 1: get out. You wait for them to leave, like that's
- 4:03Speaker 1: just gonna help everybody's process. And then you go to
- 4:06Speaker 1: find your bag. You get your bag, and you walk off.
- 4:08Speaker 1: The second thing, when you're at baggage claim, don't stand
- 4:11Speaker 1: up by the baggage claim. It's ridiculous. Nobody can get
- 4:14Speaker 1: their bag. And so when I pull my heavy bag
- 4:16Speaker 1: off with one arm and I hit you with this
- 4:19Speaker 1: bag because you're one foot away from the belt. I
- 4:23Speaker 1: don't feel bad. I don't want to hurt you. It's
- 4:25Speaker 1: not a goal of mine to make somebody cry that day. However,
- 4:30Speaker 1: back up a little bit off the belt so that
- 4:34Speaker 1: everybody get their bag and you when you see your bag,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you walk up at the perfect time, grab your bag,
- 4:39Speaker 1: you leave. It just helps everybody out the next My
- 4:41Speaker 1: final tip before I go into my tips at the airport,
- 4:44Speaker 1: because I do have a couple, would be try wait,
- 4:48Speaker 1: this is bad. What if this is a tip to
- 4:50Speaker 1: the airport. Well, these are the things you shouldn't do.
- 4:52Speaker 1: These are very obvious things you should not do airport manners.
- 4:57Speaker 1: My final tip, it's not really a manner thing, it's
- 5:00Speaker 1: just a helpful thing. You're gonna feel better. Try not
- 5:03Speaker 1: to eat on the plane. Our bodies don't really digest
- 5:06Speaker 1: food well that high up in the sky with that
- 5:10Speaker 1: much altitude and that like kind of little air, and
- 5:13Speaker 1: so try to eat before you get on your plane.
- 5:15Speaker 1: If you can grab some food, and then like nuts
- 5:19Speaker 1: and stuff like that are fine that you can process
- 5:21Speaker 1: them pretty easily. But if you eat a big meal
- 5:23Speaker 1: on the plane and you're always wondering why you feel
- 5:25Speaker 1: so bloated and like stuck like a like a swollen
- 5:29Speaker 1: and tired when you get off the planets because your
- 5:32Speaker 1: body is like having food, just sit in its stomach
- 5:35Speaker 1: for as long as that flight is you'll just feel better.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Stay hydrated to those are some life answers for me. Yeah,
- 5:43Speaker 1: maybe the most important thing I can tell you about
- 5:45Speaker 1: flying maybe my best tip for flying. I live in Denver, Colorado. Denver, Colorado.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I actually people would argue with me, and I think
- 5:52Speaker 1: as a great airport. It's a creepy airport, but it's
- 5:54Speaker 1: a good airport. Um. I don't know what it is
- 5:57Speaker 1: about Denver, Colorado's airport bathrooms, but they smell awful and
- 6:03Speaker 1: they hold in the smell like it smells like people
- 6:06Speaker 1: have done terrible things in that bathroom for ten years
- 6:10Speaker 1: and it's just still like circling around and it's a
- 6:12Speaker 1: little humid in there, so you feel like it's like
- 6:14Speaker 1: sticking on your skin. The smell is it's awful. So
- 6:18Speaker 1: my point to this is find the best bathroom. Where
- 6:21Speaker 1: would the best bathroom be? Look for where nobody goes.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Possibly it's a closed terminal, Possibly is a closed the gate.
- 6:31Speaker 1: We're gonna walk around looking for a bathroom that doesn't
- 6:33Speaker 1: have humidity and stink. Well, just that it doesn't get
- 6:36Speaker 1: used that often. Yeah, you want one that's been cleaned
- 6:39Speaker 1: and not used, because they're gonna still clean it. And
- 6:42Speaker 1: so where would those be? You say, Okay, this sounds
- 6:44Speaker 1: really hard. It sounds like it's gonna be take me
- 6:45Speaker 1: a long time to find this. No, it's not. What
- 6:47Speaker 1: you do is you walk to the very end of
- 6:50Speaker 1: the terminal, like as far down as you can, find
- 6:53Speaker 1: the farthest bathroom from that main entrance of the airport.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Because the only people going down there are people with fights.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It's not like the people who are eating and drinking
- 7:04Speaker 1: and the like common areas are going to be going
- 7:06Speaker 1: to those bathrooms. Find the one farthest away. It's gonna
- 7:08Speaker 1: be the best for you. You're gonna have the best experience.
- 7:11Speaker 1: It's gonna be the cleanest. They typically don't get used.
- 7:15Speaker 1: This is for a number two because I'm not no anything,
- 7:19Speaker 1: well anything, yeah, whatever you want. First off, you're standing
- 7:22Speaker 1: when you pee, So why do you care about it?
- 7:24Speaker 1: A good point? Well, just because, um yeah, just because
- 7:28Speaker 1: the sanitation my final thing. Actually I'll close you here,
- 7:30Speaker 1: and most of it goes around bathrooms. Um is don't
- 7:34Speaker 1: bring you know what really grosses me out, Like it
- 7:36Speaker 1: gross me out when I don't see people wash their
- 7:38Speaker 1: hands leaveing the bathroom because of especially today. You know,
- 7:41Speaker 1: no matter what you feel about the vaccine or the
- 7:43Speaker 1: boosters um, the COVID exists. It. You know, flu exists,
- 7:49Speaker 1: disease exists, and airports are a place that it exists
- 7:53Speaker 1: at a pretty high volume. I'll just say that sometimes
- 7:57Speaker 1: I will leave and use hit hands intizer. I mean
- 8:02Speaker 1: there's something about the like sometimes you're washing your hands
- 8:04Speaker 1: and then you realize there's no soap left. Hate wet
- 8:07Speaker 1: hands with no soap. There's just something weird mentality. Yeah,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I get it. That's fine. Just clean your hands. That's
- 8:14Speaker 1: that's really it that that Just clean your hands. So
- 8:18Speaker 1: I can I can understand, like I can get over
- 8:20Speaker 1: the fact that maybe you didn't wash your hands. Was
- 8:22Speaker 1: my point, because maybe you are leaving and using sanitizer.
- 8:24Speaker 1: That's okay with me. Here's the thing that I don't
- 8:26Speaker 1: want to see anybody do ever. Okay, ever, and people
- 8:30Speaker 1: might get mad at me for this, that's okay. I'm
- 8:32Speaker 1: calling you out right now. You know who you are.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Do not bring your open lid like drinks into the bathroom,
- 8:40Speaker 1: like a coffee or a straw smoothie or something like that.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Leave it outside, don't buy it until after you've done
- 8:48Speaker 1: what you need to do. It's disgusting, it is, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: it's not good for you. You should I'm not saying
- 8:53Speaker 1: it's disgusting for me. I'll get over it. I just
- 8:56Speaker 1: saw it happen. It doesn't affect me. But what it
- 8:58Speaker 1: does do is like about your health. And I don't
- 9:01Speaker 1: want to see you sipping on something that has also
- 9:04Speaker 1: been inside of a closed space with a bunch of
- 9:07Speaker 1: random strangers doing whatever they're doing in there. It's not
- 9:09Speaker 1: worth it for you. You've got to go and look
- 9:12Speaker 1: at a YouTube video or something to see how much
- 9:15Speaker 1: the water particles and the German particles spread once you
- 9:18Speaker 1: hit that flush. Yeah, it's disgusting, so pretty gross. Just
- 9:22Speaker 1: listen to those tips. You're gonna have a better experience
- 9:24Speaker 1: in the bathroom, and you're gonna have a better experience
- 9:27Speaker 1: in the airport in general, and your travel is going
- 9:30Speaker 1: to be a lot easier. And also, try not to
- 9:33Speaker 1: check a bag. Just bring a bag with you on
- 9:35Speaker 1: the plane if you can. It makes it so much faster. Okay,
- 9:39Speaker 1: but Ben, I have a few things to make comments
- 9:42Speaker 1: of Based on all of that, you said that the
- 9:44Speaker 1: Denver Airport is creepy. I like it because it has
- 9:48Speaker 1: a great food selection. Sure does, especially in that United terminal,
- 9:52Speaker 1: which I think is the only one I've ever been in,
- 9:54Speaker 1: because it's like such a huge hub. Now there's two
- 9:57Speaker 1: reasons why it's creepy. There's like this weird horse you
- 10:00Speaker 1: want to tell everybody with the weird eyes as you enter,
- 10:03Speaker 1: and nobody knows, like what it is you are like, Yeah,
- 10:06Speaker 1: So I don't know if you know this yet, but
- 10:07Speaker 1: our restaurants are going up in the Denver Airport. I
- 10:12Speaker 1: can't say what terminal yet, that's still a secret. But
- 10:14Speaker 1: they're going up here in the next few months, so
- 10:16Speaker 1: you can come visit some of our some of our
- 10:19Speaker 1: favorites at Culinary, Creative, Little Shot Out too Cool. Yeah.
- 10:22Speaker 1: So now Denver did a whole renovation. Some people this
- 10:25Speaker 1: will be boring. I'll go through this quick because you've
- 10:27Speaker 1: you don't fly now. As decorations, they've put gargoyles up
- 10:31Speaker 1: on some of the pillars in the airport, which just
- 10:33Speaker 1: makes it weirder. That makes it so much weirder. They're
- 10:36Speaker 1: just leaning in. They're leaning in, and I think they're
- 10:39Speaker 1: leaning in because there are some creepy things about the
- 10:41Speaker 1: airport and they think that if they just make it
- 10:43Speaker 1: a big joke, nobody will continue to ask questions. But
- 10:45Speaker 1: there are some weird things you should watch a YouTube
- 10:47Speaker 1: video to get fully caught up on, like underground like
- 10:51Speaker 1: bunkers and weird paintings and odd Just to simplify for people,
- 10:58Speaker 1: they say that, like the Denver Airport is basically constructed
- 11:03Speaker 1: for like the end of the world. Like there's a
- 11:05Speaker 1: few people and like we'll be able to like get
- 11:07Speaker 1: access and like live down there. And then there's like
- 11:10Speaker 1: a headquarters, some sort of headquarters is down there. Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And then they say there's like a prison, so if
- 11:16Speaker 1: people like act out during that apocalyptic time, they can
- 11:19Speaker 1: be held at the bottom of the Denver Airport. But
- 11:21Speaker 1: the folk tale or the real story it matters so
- 11:26Speaker 1: you talk to is we have a big old blue
- 11:28Speaker 1: horse when you drive into our airports with red eyes.
- 11:32Speaker 1: The people, multiple people have been killed during the setup
- 11:37Speaker 1: of this horse. So the horse actually fell over. Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 1: the story is that it fell over and killed the
- 11:43Speaker 1: architect and the designer of this structure, and that's why
- 11:46Speaker 1: it's so weird. But it has red eyes, and so
- 11:48Speaker 1: no matter what, even if it never hurt anybody, it's
- 11:51Speaker 1: still a very odd structure. It stands out. Nobody drives
- 11:55Speaker 1: past it and goes, wow, that's just a beautiful, normal
- 11:58Speaker 1: looking horse. It looks like it. I mean, it has
- 12:00Speaker 1: read glaring. It looks demonic. So that's really what we're
- 12:06Speaker 1: known for. That's why we live on the opposite side
- 12:08Speaker 1: of the town of the airport. We're just as far
- 12:10Speaker 1: away from that as we can be. But yeah, this
- 12:14Speaker 1: is my tips for flying and traveling. I've gotten better
- 12:17Speaker 1: at it over the years. Ashley to drastically switch topics,
- 12:22Speaker 1: I need your help, Okay, drastically switched topics. I need
- 12:26Speaker 1: your help about something personal in my life that I'm
- 12:28Speaker 1: struggling with. I feel like it has to a dog.
- 12:30Speaker 1: It does. Yesterday I took Whalen on a walk. Okay,
- 12:35Speaker 1: he was running. It was really windy here. He was
- 12:37Speaker 1: running after things, and all of a sudden he ran
- 12:39Speaker 1: after a leaf and barely miss getting hit by a car.
- 12:42Speaker 1: And I am not okay, Like my heart hurts, like
- 12:45Speaker 1: my I have like trauma. Now he's fine, right, he
- 12:50Speaker 1: didn't get hit, but like I had to pull him
- 12:52Speaker 1: back and I luckily saw the car coming through the
- 12:53Speaker 1: corner of my eye and I pulled him back. Everything's fine,
- 12:56Speaker 1: but just that moment in general shook me, Like I
- 12:58Speaker 1: didn't sleep last night. Just can do that. I haven't
- 13:02Speaker 1: stopped thinking about it. He's probably confused. Don't want to
- 13:06Speaker 1: keep hugging him and just like leaning in. So my
- 13:10Speaker 1: question in general for the audience and for you is
- 13:12Speaker 1: how do you get like, am I crazy one for
- 13:16Speaker 1: having like some like post traumatic stress from this? Two?
- 13:22Speaker 1: If I'm not crazy from it, but it's happening though
- 13:25Speaker 1: in general, so even if it's a weird thing that
- 13:26Speaker 1: I am, I need your help. How do you get
- 13:29Speaker 1: through these things? Like how do you in life have
- 13:32Speaker 1: something traumatic happen to you big or small, and then
- 13:36Speaker 1: how do you move on through it and continue with
- 13:39Speaker 1: life and not have that like affect your dreams and
- 13:41Speaker 1: affect your sleep and affect your normal day. Okay, first off,
- 13:46Speaker 1: you're definitely not crazy for that, But I have a
- 13:49Speaker 1: follow up question, like why do you let the leash
- 13:51Speaker 1: go so far? It's one of those stretchy leashes we're
- 13:54Speaker 1: in our neighborhood, and I didn't like, I didn't see
- 13:56Speaker 1: any cars coming, like we're walking in our street and
- 13:58Speaker 1: typically normal names when they see some a dog and
- 14:02Speaker 1: a person walking, they stop behind you until like you
- 14:05Speaker 1: see him, and then they're like gro passed once you
- 14:07Speaker 1: get like control. This car did not. No, Okay, I
- 14:10Speaker 1: always have her on it tightly because she's a wild woman. Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: I'm about too. I think that's what I'm gonna do.
- 14:16Speaker 1: I think it's no longer free reign for my buddy.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. And secondly, I think it's hilarious that you're
- 14:23Speaker 1: just like so obsessed and in love with Whalen. When
- 14:25Speaker 1: I would talk about Lois like this obviously for years
- 14:29Speaker 1: and you'd be like, okay, okay, you love your dog. Okay, okay,
- 14:32Speaker 1: they're awesome. I don't have a dog. I don't get it,
- 14:34Speaker 1: And now you get it. He's my buddy. Hilarious, he's
- 14:39Speaker 1: my buddy. Um. Then, thirdly, to answer a question, man,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I wish this is like so almost obnoxious for me
- 14:51Speaker 1: to say, and I hate saying it out loud, but
- 14:53Speaker 1: I can't remember like a moment of trauma. But even
- 14:57Speaker 1: with Dawson, like you don't have a moment you get scared,
- 15:00Speaker 1: Like I have intrusive thoughts with him. Okay, so that's
- 15:04Speaker 1: like a little bit different. Like yesterday, I dropped him
- 15:07Speaker 1: off at my in laws for like two hours so
- 15:11Speaker 1: I can get my nails done, and I knew that
- 15:13Speaker 1: they were going to take him for a walk, so
- 15:15Speaker 1: I just like so nonchalantly, like you know, handed him
- 15:18Speaker 1: off to them, and I was like, okay, I'm leaving.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And then as soon as I'm pulling out, I'm thinking, Okay,
- 15:25Speaker 1: what if they are starting to do What if they
- 15:27Speaker 1: go on a walk with him and there's a distracted
- 15:30Speaker 1: driver and they hit this car seat at his stroller. Yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 1: that's my immediate thought. And then I totally freaked myself
- 15:38Speaker 1: out because it's, I know, an intrusive thought, but at
- 15:42Speaker 1: the same time, it's so it could be so realistic.
- 15:47Speaker 1: That's my fear of being a parent, because I have
- 15:49Speaker 1: a lot of those just today, about Jessica, about my family,
- 15:53Speaker 1: about my friends, about my dog. Like I spend I
- 15:57Speaker 1: feel like I'm a lot of my day fighting these
- 16:00Speaker 1: intrusive thoughts and I don't know a lot about it.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And so maybe it'd be helpful for us actually to
- 16:04Speaker 1: bring somebody onto our podcast and talk with us about
- 16:07Speaker 1: this stuff, like just what do people do? Because I'm
- 16:10Speaker 1: sure we're not the only ones. I mean, I don't
- 16:13Speaker 1: think so at all. Listeners, please tell us if we're
- 16:15Speaker 1: the only ones who ever have these kind of thoughts
- 16:17Speaker 1: pop in. But they happen to me often, and they're
- 16:20Speaker 1: like they're at times like very suffocating. Oh yeah, And
- 16:26Speaker 1: then I'm getting I'm almost done with my nails, and
- 16:29Speaker 1: I text my mother in law and I see how
- 16:31Speaker 1: how he's doing. I'd be like, I'm gonna be leaving
- 16:33Speaker 1: here in twenty minutes, and she didn't respond, so I
- 16:38Speaker 1: obviously start thinking scary things and I had to look
- 16:41Speaker 1: at fine my friends to make sure that she was
- 16:44Speaker 1: at home and not at the ERM. So this is
- 16:48Speaker 1: how it is leaving her child. Yeah, yeah, I think
- 16:51Speaker 1: it's very very common. I also think it's something I've
- 16:54Speaker 1: been doing my entire life. It's way harder and scarier
- 16:57Speaker 1: when you have a kid. And I think it's just
- 17:01Speaker 1: becoming more of a conversation topic, Like we're kind of
- 17:04Speaker 1: like just now admitting to like all these thoughts that
- 17:07Speaker 1: we have throughout the day that are dooming. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: it'd be it's a it's a topic I think I
- 17:13Speaker 1: want to explore here in the Almost Famous podcast. I
- 17:16Speaker 1: think a little offbeat for us, but I'm down. Hey,
- 17:20Speaker 1: we know we're about spiritual offseason topic for sure. We're
- 17:24Speaker 1: about spiritual health, mental health, physical health, and the bachelor's health,
- 17:29Speaker 1: which we have to talk about now. Right after this break,
- 17:32Speaker 1: we're going to jump into breaking down this week's episode
- 17:35Speaker 1: of The Bachelor and the health of our bachelor. Who. Well, yes,
- 17:40Speaker 1: good transitions. Maybe it wasn't as healthy this episode. We'll
- 17:43Speaker 1: be back right after this, all right, Ben, you're ready
- 17:57Speaker 1: to dive into the episode finally. Sorry, if you guys
- 17:59Speaker 1: got tired of our ramble, I thought, yeah, they enjoyed that,
- 18:04Speaker 1: they liked it. We'll make up their mind for that,
- 18:06Speaker 1: all right. So I liked this episode. Actually, I was
- 18:11Speaker 1: fully engaged, and I was very exciting for me. I
- 18:14Speaker 1: know we were rough on him a couple of weeks ago.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I'm finding him to be I'm finding the past couple
- 18:21Speaker 1: of weeks have gotten more intriguing for me. And I
- 18:26Speaker 1: will begin with Gabby's date, Gabby's one on one. I
- 18:30Speaker 1: love Gabby's one on one. It was the ultimate. It
- 18:32Speaker 1: was the date it was my dream date. This was
- 18:35Speaker 1: my dream at bachelor date. It's a little princess oriented,
- 18:39Speaker 1: which if you watched my season, you know that I
- 18:41Speaker 1: was very jealous of one of my very good friends, Jade,
- 18:44Speaker 1: because she got a princess date, and I knew that
- 18:46Speaker 1: they may have done that. Well, they knew they were
- 18:49Speaker 1: going to get a reaction out of me if they
- 18:51Speaker 1: didn't put me on that date and the guy didn't
- 18:54Speaker 1: like me enough to put me on a one on
- 18:55Speaker 1: one and that's okay. But they also knew the right
- 18:59Speaker 1: person upon the date, Jade, which is like who she's
- 19:01Speaker 1: like just a natural princess. And they knew that Greer
- 19:06Speaker 1: in this case was going to want this date, probably
- 19:10Speaker 1: the most because of the subject matter, because apparently she
- 19:13Speaker 1: loves Tea so much that she tattooed on her head
- 19:16Speaker 1: like her wrist. It's intense. That's an intense love for Tea.
- 19:21Speaker 1: But they also were like, we're not giving it to her.
- 19:24Speaker 1: And apparently, according to the girls and maybe Zach, the
- 19:29Speaker 1: girls say that Zach has been making sure that each
- 19:33Speaker 1: girl goes on a date that is best suited for
- 19:36Speaker 1: their personality. Ben, I need to know how much do
- 19:41Speaker 1: you choose the girl because of the subject matter of
- 19:45Speaker 1: the date, like, come on, this is your selection this week.
- 19:50Speaker 1: You can choose from these girls to take on the date.
- 19:54Speaker 1: No how it works is this You just get back
- 19:57Speaker 1: home from a group date or you just gotten to
- 19:59Speaker 1: you your city, and the producers come in and they say, so,
- 20:05Speaker 1: I'll tell you the whole process. So they say, okay,
- 20:08Speaker 1: here's what's going on this week, and you say, okay, great,
- 20:11Speaker 1: who do you want to bring on these dates? And
- 20:14Speaker 1: you kind of think and you go, Okay, I just
- 20:16Speaker 1: brought this person on date last week, even though I
- 20:18Speaker 1: love for her to come back with me on this date.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I'm interested in this person, And you say, okay, I
- 20:23Speaker 1: would like to bring her on this date, right, And
- 20:27Speaker 1: then they will either say that's a good idea or hey,
- 20:29Speaker 1: that's not a good idea. Sometimes they'll say, you know,
- 20:32Speaker 1: next week, you have that really cool date where you're
- 20:34Speaker 1: going to go on a helicopter ride to a vineyard,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and that girl actually loves wine, so maybe you should
- 20:39Speaker 1: bring somebody else on the date this week and bring
- 20:43Speaker 1: them on a date next week where you know they're
- 20:46Speaker 1: gonna love that even more. You're the problem. There is
- 20:49Speaker 1: you're gonna have to convince them that you still like
- 20:50Speaker 1: them because they haven't gone on a one on one
- 20:52Speaker 1: and it's week six, and so are you cool with that?
- 20:54Speaker 1: So there is a conversation, and I would say it
- 20:57Speaker 1: would be great to give Zach all the credit that
- 20:59Speaker 1: he is perfectly pick these dates for each individual woman.
- 21:03Speaker 1: That can't be true because you don't You don't always
- 21:07Speaker 1: know like how great a date's going to be the
- 21:09Speaker 1: next week. I here's what I'm not convinced of. The
- 21:12Speaker 1: show is so good. The producer is so good at
- 21:14Speaker 1: convincing you that the thought was your own that I
- 21:17Speaker 1: don't know if they already know who's going on this
- 21:19Speaker 1: date before you do, and you've just somehow now told them, yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 1: that's the person that's gonna go. I don't. I don't know.
- 21:24Speaker 1: I feel like sometimes you're kind of convinced in a
- 21:28Speaker 1: really good creative way, but you do have say um,
- 21:32Speaker 1: you do have say there. So if he's intentional about
- 21:37Speaker 1: making sure these dates are specific for each individual woman,
- 21:40Speaker 1: that's awesome. I just think he he couldn't do that
- 21:43Speaker 1: the whole season because ultimately, right, it just doesn't work
- 21:49Speaker 1: out that way. Okay, Okay, so I love this date
- 21:53Speaker 1: for obvious reasons. She got to wear a crown, she
- 21:56Speaker 1: got to play with corgies, she got to experience like
- 22:02Speaker 1: royal life trying on those dresses so fun. I also
- 22:07Speaker 1: loved his reaction to her, and the dress was so adorable,
- 22:11Speaker 1: Like I think I actually audibly said ah, and um,
- 22:17Speaker 1: let's see what else? The perfume thing. Creating a perfume
- 22:21Speaker 1: fitted for like a royal or yourself was kind of
- 22:25Speaker 1: an awesome interaction. It's kind of like a fun activity.
- 22:28Speaker 1: It was something that you could like have banter with,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I think, and what else. I just everything about that date,
- 22:35Speaker 1: like step by step, there was something interesting that they
- 22:37Speaker 1: were doing and it played with where they were. I
- 22:41Speaker 1: just think that it was a great date in getting
- 22:44Speaker 1: to know somebody's personality, like get your flirt on, you know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I do know a couple of notes here, Ashley to
- 22:53Speaker 1: kick it off. I'm surprised that you liked this episode,
- 22:57Speaker 1: especially with kind of the um just this. What we
- 23:03Speaker 1: felt like was the slowness in the first couple of
- 23:06Speaker 1: couple episodes, like I'm so I'm surprised when I talked
- 23:08Speaker 1: to you today that you said down You're like I
- 23:10Speaker 1: really liked this episode. I expected you to be more
- 23:12Speaker 1: on the side of that was just a weird two
- 23:15Speaker 1: hours that could have been like I saw funny tweet
- 23:19Speaker 1: this said, this could have been all done an email
- 23:21Speaker 1: like it because it was so much efertually. Um, so
- 23:24Speaker 1: it's interesting me. We'll get into that later. I also
- 23:27Speaker 1: just want to know for my own pride that I
- 23:30Speaker 1: did mention since week one that I felt like Greer
- 23:33Speaker 1: was going to go home earlier than expected and that
- 23:36Speaker 1: it wasn't going to work out like we think it would.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I actually said it last week. Still there, still there,
- 23:42Speaker 1: I get that, But can we start to now see
- 23:45Speaker 1: that maybe, just maybe she's not a top three or
- 23:48Speaker 1: a top four in the eyes of Zach okay for sure? Okay, sure,
- 23:55Speaker 1: hanging by a thread? What I what I liked about
- 23:58Speaker 1: this episode was but I truly didn't know how it
- 24:02Speaker 1: was going to play out. In two ways. One, we
- 24:05Speaker 1: didn't stick with you know, we weren't going to be
- 24:07Speaker 1: able to stick with the formula with him being sick,
- 24:10Speaker 1: So it was kind of like a, oh, what are
- 24:11Speaker 1: they going to do? How are they going to work
- 24:12Speaker 1: this out? And that was keeping me interested. And then
- 24:16Speaker 1: it was also the fact that I had no idea
- 24:18Speaker 1: who he was going to eliminate, especially come that cocktail party,
- 24:24Speaker 1: that digital cocktail party, because it seemed like he was
- 24:27Speaker 1: driving with everyone except for Greer, and I will admit
- 24:30Speaker 1: I thought Greer was gonna be gone because I couldn't
- 24:33Speaker 1: even think of anyone else to eliminate. There. I was like,
- 24:36Speaker 1: possibly Mercedes, but I thought we just hadn't seen much over. Yeah,
- 24:41Speaker 1: we just hadn't seen much over. This episode did bring us.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I think that What Will Go Down is one of
- 24:47Speaker 1: the most iconic comedic scenes in Bachelor history, at least
- 24:51Speaker 1: it was for me. I was laughing really hard at
- 24:56Speaker 1: somebody else's expense, which I love. When Gavey was walking
- 25:01Speaker 1: through with all of her shopping bags and grew was
- 25:03Speaker 1: sitting in front of her room, I thought that was hilarious,
- 25:06Speaker 1: Like the fact that Greer got hit by a bag
- 25:09Speaker 1: as Gabby was walking down the hallway with because she
- 25:12Speaker 1: was so upset with the date and she thought that
- 25:14Speaker 1: date would be perfect for her. And then Greer just
- 25:16Speaker 1: happened to be sitting in front of Gabby's room, so
- 25:18Speaker 1: I had to stand up and move so that Gabby
- 25:21Speaker 1: could bring her fifty bags into the room. I thought
- 25:24Speaker 1: was hilarious. I was dying to know whether it was
- 25:28Speaker 1: staged or not. How did you stage it? I mean,
- 25:31Speaker 1: I think it's like they tell her, They're like, go
- 25:33Speaker 1: to room four twelve, and then like she gets there
- 25:36Speaker 1: and then they're like, oh, oh, Gabby, I'm sorry it's
- 25:39Speaker 1: this one. This one. Yeah. Well still, even if it
- 25:42Speaker 1: was even if the producers within two minutes were smart
- 25:46Speaker 1: enough to do that and pull that off, it's brilliant
- 25:48Speaker 1: and it's amazing television. It was good. It was good,
- 25:53Speaker 1: and I know that people are rolling their eyes watching
- 25:56Speaker 1: Greer respond to this. The fact that she had to leave,
- 26:00Speaker 1: you know, the group part, the fact that she's crying
- 26:02Speaker 1: about tea because she had a She has a tea tattoo,
- 26:05Speaker 1: and tea means a lot to her. And I's so
- 26:09Speaker 1: I so understand that it seems silly, but I've been
- 26:11Speaker 1: in this situation and it's not that silly. Like, imagine
- 26:17Speaker 1: your favorite just imagine while you're competing for a guy,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and then you get to experience what you've always wanted
- 26:25Speaker 1: to experience with a guy, but then you're not the
- 26:29Speaker 1: one experiencing it. It's just it is kind of It's
- 26:32Speaker 1: it's just a little devastating. It's silly and devastating, But
- 26:35Speaker 1: it's this kind of thing that I'm sure Greer was
- 26:37Speaker 1: laughing at watching herself last night. Did you laugh at yourself? Oh? Yeah.
- 26:43Speaker 1: But the thing is, I think a lot of people
- 26:45Speaker 1: didn't understand that I was totally poking boy of myself.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I was being very self deprecating when I decided to
- 26:52Speaker 1: dress up like Cinderella and have like my little mice
- 26:56Speaker 1: when Jade was out on the date, like, I was
- 27:00Speaker 1: making fun of the whole situation already in the situation.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Did I feel extreme envy when she came in for
- 27:05Speaker 1: the fitting of the dress and was putting on the slippers. Yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 1: for sure, I was like, I'm super jealous, but like
- 27:12Speaker 1: I also realized it was like all it was. It
- 27:17Speaker 1: was like it was just fun. It was like being fun.
- 27:20Speaker 1: And I don't think that I don't think that Greer
- 27:22Speaker 1: necessarily it was fun envy. I don't know if that's
- 27:25Speaker 1: super weird. It's only something you could probably experience on
- 27:27Speaker 1: the Bachelor. She does have a tattoo of tea like
- 27:32Speaker 1: me wanting a princess date. That doesn't seem to be
- 27:35Speaker 1: extremely unique. I think like every girl would like to
- 27:37Speaker 1: have a princess date to go shopping to try in
- 27:40Speaker 1: those dresses. It's kind of just like ultimately everybody's dream date.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But with Greer it was so specific, like the girl
- 27:49Speaker 1: loves tea? Who loves tea? Like that A lot of
- 27:54Speaker 1: the customers that buy tea from generous. I think you've
- 27:58Speaker 1: come across somebody who has attack too of a teacup.
- 28:01Speaker 1: No no, no, and I don't have a coffee being
- 28:05Speaker 1: on that leg? You know? Was it the date, Ashley
- 28:13Speaker 1: or was it the fact that Greer feels so left behind?
- 28:16Speaker 1: And there's okay? So this date could have been any date,
- 28:21Speaker 1: you know, any date could have been perfect. This was
- 28:23Speaker 1: an incredible date, Like I had multiple different facets. It
- 28:26Speaker 1: looked like a lot of fun. I feel like at
- 28:29Speaker 1: this point I'm busy. It kept them having something new
- 28:32Speaker 1: to talk about the entire time, and that's what I
- 28:34Speaker 1: liked because I know that sometimes it's like, oh, big
- 28:36Speaker 1: activity and then dinner. But this like kind of kept
- 28:40Speaker 1: it continuous, and that's what I would have preferred while
- 28:43Speaker 1: being on the Bachelor. Anyway, enough of what I prefer, Well,
- 28:47Speaker 1: we care about what you prefer But I think at
- 28:50Speaker 1: this point in the season we see it every season
- 28:53Speaker 1: where the contestants are starting to feel left behind. They're
- 28:58Speaker 1: starting to ask the question, why haven't I gotten the
- 28:59Speaker 1: one on one yet? Does Zach not really care about me?
- 29:03Speaker 1: We had such a good connection four weeks ago, but
- 29:06Speaker 1: I haven't really seen him since then. What do I
- 29:09Speaker 1: do to stand out? Oh? Today? And then possibly every week,
- 29:13Speaker 1: you have somebody telling you this is your week, this
- 29:19Speaker 1: has to be the week that you get the one
- 29:20Speaker 1: on one. You're gonna get the one on one this week,
- 29:22Speaker 1: this is gonna be your time. And so when that
- 29:24Speaker 1: card is read and it's not you and you're then
- 29:27Speaker 1: on a group date, there is a massive amount of
- 29:31Speaker 1: emotion involved. There is even for you know, the guys
- 29:35Speaker 1: on my season, when I was on Kalen season, the
- 29:38Speaker 1: guys that weren't getting the dates. At first, it's fine
- 29:41Speaker 1: and it's cool, and then all of a sudden you
- 29:43Speaker 1: start to get kind of confused and sad and wondering
- 29:48Speaker 1: where to exactly do I stand. And so I think
- 29:50Speaker 1: that's where Greer's at. I think this could have been
- 29:52Speaker 1: any date and she would have been just as sad,
- 29:54Speaker 1: maybe not just as sad or there'd be like a
- 29:57Speaker 1: jealousy factor a little but east anyway, I totally understand
- 30:02Speaker 1: you're saying yes, But I also think the more you
- 30:04Speaker 1: focalize it, the more the less likely you are to
- 30:09Speaker 1: get that one on one would Yes, it's great TV
- 30:14Speaker 1: when somebody is freaking out. That's I mean, that's it is.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I would recommend anybody. Here's my tip. I don't know
- 30:20Speaker 1: how it happens every time, but if you are somebody
- 30:24Speaker 1: who's very upset or jealous or envious, as best as
- 30:28Speaker 1: you can, just hold it to yourself, like sit through it, smile,
- 30:33Speaker 1: sit in that room as she's talking about all the
- 30:35Speaker 1: things that they did, just so that you aren't the
- 30:38Speaker 1: center of attention that then they're gonna like pull that
- 30:41Speaker 1: emotion more out of you and make it a little
- 30:43Speaker 1: bit of a bigger deal than you even knew it was.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Just stay quiet, sit in it, be there, and then
- 30:50Speaker 1: move on. Yeah. That's great advice and one that I
- 30:53Speaker 1: have a very hard time following. And it's really hard,
- 30:56Speaker 1: of course, following that advice when you are a new
- 30:59Speaker 1: bee on the show. I think you kind of know
- 31:01Speaker 1: better once second or third time around. But yeah, so
- 31:05Speaker 1: she doesn't really know what she's doing, but she's making
- 31:07Speaker 1: a horrible mistake by vocalizing how bad she feels held back. Yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 1: there's just so well, let's talk about Gabby's connection. Yeah,
- 31:16Speaker 1: I would say this. I'm still keeping with my word.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I think there's zero chance that Greer and Zach end
- 31:21Speaker 1: up together, especially after how this episode played out. You
- 31:25Speaker 1: know what, I'm gonna debate you here. Good. I think
- 31:30Speaker 1: that she's going to hang around for a long time,
- 31:33Speaker 1: and I think there's a reason we didn't see her
- 31:34Speaker 1: a lot in the scenes in the next episode. I
- 31:36Speaker 1: think they're really trying to set us out. They're really
- 31:38Speaker 1: trying to put us on a wrong path. I hope
- 31:42Speaker 1: I'm wrong. I kind of like grew. I like this,
- 31:44Speaker 1: she's emotional. I like this she's telling us how she feels.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I don't think it's the smart decision, but I like
- 31:48Speaker 1: that it's happening, and I think she does care. Um,
- 31:51Speaker 1: we'll talk more about Greer as the episode ends. I
- 31:53Speaker 1: kind of feel bad. Form might be the unpopular opinion,
- 31:57Speaker 1: but yeah, we feel bad for her. I want her
- 31:59Speaker 1: to get her chance because there was something there, and
- 32:02Speaker 1: I know that we are jumping ahead again, but like,
- 32:04Speaker 1: let me just say this, she gets the rose, and
- 32:07Speaker 1: I think she gets the rose over the other two girls,
- 32:10Speaker 1: Kylie and Mercedes, because Zach's like, Okay, I've had such
- 32:14Speaker 1: a strong moment with her, and maybe the moments haven't
- 32:19Speaker 1: been like there haven't been a lot of those moments,
- 32:22Speaker 1: but I had that moment at some points, like hopefully
- 32:25Speaker 1: I can get another one like that. But I guess,
- 32:27Speaker 1: like with the Mercedes and Kylie, he probably just never
- 32:29Speaker 1: felt something that intense. Yeah, I think that's fair. Okay,
- 32:34Speaker 1: all right, so Gabby. I think Gabby shoots the top
- 32:38Speaker 1: of my list. I think Gabby goes ahead of Brooklyn
- 32:40Speaker 1: now and I think she's in my top three with
- 32:43Speaker 1: Katie kat and herself. Really yeah, I think he really
- 32:50Speaker 1: liked her. I was seeing some tweets and stuff that
- 32:52Speaker 1: like they had no chemistry maybe like they didn't have
- 32:56Speaker 1: like the sexual chemistry that he had with Cat last week.
- 33:00Speaker 1: But they have a good time together. I think he's
- 33:03Speaker 1: really looking for that. Yeah, they had a lot of
- 33:06Speaker 1: fun and she does allow him to be goofy, which
- 33:09Speaker 1: he is. He's made that very clear. She did make
- 33:13Speaker 1: a comment that I've never heard before, and this might
- 33:18Speaker 1: be a new thing. But she goes, I'm not a kisser,
- 33:21Speaker 1: I'm a cuddler. Cuddler, yeah, is that a thing. Yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 1: I think I get more out of I personally get
- 33:29Speaker 1: more at this stage in our relationship from cuddling than kissing.
- 33:34Speaker 1: But I do feel like it's a little different when
- 33:38Speaker 1: you're at her stage of the relationship because I think,
- 33:41Speaker 1: like when it's new, you get more of a chemistry
- 33:45Speaker 1: vibe by kissing, and I also think you get more
- 33:48Speaker 1: of a reassurance vibe while kissing, because it's just more
- 33:51Speaker 1: of a romantic thing. That's fair. I would like to
- 33:54Speaker 1: know anybody that feels like they would be in this
- 33:57Speaker 1: stage of the relationship more of a cuddler than a kisser.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I would just want to know more about that. I
- 34:01Speaker 1: want you to explain to me. I'm interested in what
- 34:03Speaker 1: that exactly, Like, why cuddling feels intimate to you, Why
- 34:06Speaker 1: that's what you would be drawn to. You know, it's
- 34:08Speaker 1: just interesting when you first meet somebody, there's a physical attraction,
- 34:12Speaker 1: there's a there's chemistry, and then you'd be like, I
- 34:15Speaker 1: just want to cuddle, Like, don't kiss me, just cuddle,
- 34:17Speaker 1: because that's kind of what I was hitting like, That's
- 34:20Speaker 1: what I was hearing there was I would much prefer
- 34:22Speaker 1: you just cuddle me, then I would you kiss me,
- 34:25Speaker 1: which feels different than any other situation I've ever heard antic.
- 34:31Speaker 1: It feels like she's craving safety and comfort in that,
- 34:37Speaker 1: and I think possibly she's thinking about a previous relationship
- 34:41Speaker 1: when saying that, because I think when you're in a
- 34:45Speaker 1: long term relationship, cuddling can feel give you a certain
- 34:48Speaker 1: level of closeness and then when it comes right right,
- 34:51Speaker 1: what do you feel like You've been with Jess for
- 34:53Speaker 1: so long, You've been kissing for you know, four years,
- 34:56Speaker 1: so like, would you rather cuddle or a kiss? Well,
- 34:59Speaker 1: I asked her this last night. I said, are you
- 35:01Speaker 1: a cuddler or a kisser? She goes, I'm both, And
- 35:05Speaker 1: I think that's like, yes, that's how we are. Like,
- 35:07Speaker 1: it's both. It's you know, we're not sitting in bed
- 35:10Speaker 1: at night and watching Netflix and just make it out
- 35:13Speaker 1: for you know, three hours. That's not how life works.
- 35:18Speaker 1: But you're both like both have their own specific place
- 35:21Speaker 1: and that's why I thought the comment was interesting. I've
- 35:24Speaker 1: just never compared the two I've seen, but I've never
- 35:27Speaker 1: seen those two things not be aligned in some way,
- 35:32Speaker 1: but very personal question. And this is funny because I
- 35:35Speaker 1: talk about this on the I Don't Get a podcast
- 35:37Speaker 1: a lot with Nas because she's never had a super
- 35:39Speaker 1: long term relationship and she imagines that like after being
- 35:43Speaker 1: together for five years like me and jured, that we'd
- 35:45Speaker 1: still like just make out on the couch randomly, do
- 35:50Speaker 1: you ingest when it's not leading somewhere else ever, just
- 35:53Speaker 1: make out for the sake of making out, and then
- 35:56Speaker 1: like you just go eat dinner afterward. No, yeah, I
- 36:01Speaker 1: mean we like kiss like I just she just left
- 36:04Speaker 1: for work and I gave her a kiss before she left, goodbye,
- 36:08Speaker 1: good night, all that. Yeah. Yeah, but we don't just
- 36:10Speaker 1: like teenage like sit on the couch and make out
- 36:12Speaker 1: and then be like that was awesome, Like, no, that's
- 36:17Speaker 1: not how life works anymore. It'd be cool, I got,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I'd be down, but it would definitely be like kind
- 36:23Speaker 1: of funny. We laugh. Yeah, I think I think that, Like,
- 36:26Speaker 1: I think that's cool and a thing when you're like
- 36:30Speaker 1: a teenager and it's new and hormones are raging and
- 36:33Speaker 1: you're like just any contact with them starting. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:37Speaker 1: and yeah, you're right, Yeah, when you're dating and starting obviously,
- 36:40Speaker 1: like you know, Jessica and I's situation was different and
- 36:43Speaker 1: so we spent a lot of time just kissing and
- 36:46Speaker 1: like sitting on the couch and all that and so
- 36:49Speaker 1: different then. But now it's kind of like, wait, you know, no,
- 36:54Speaker 1: this is this is not how we're spending our evening.
- 36:57Speaker 1: And if it is, like it's going somewhere, Okay, all right,
- 37:02Speaker 1: so now you understand now, I now you understand where
- 37:05Speaker 1: she's coming from. I think she's just talking thinking about
- 37:07Speaker 1: previous relationship and being like sure, yeah, I preferred to snuggling.
- 37:10Speaker 1: It was just an it was an interesting comment. It
- 37:12Speaker 1: was interesting. Should we move on to the group dates?
- 37:26Speaker 1: That was not a date? Um? Yes, I do have
- 37:29Speaker 1: one thing in my notes here. I want to bring up,
- 37:32Speaker 1: okay about this situation in general, and I think it's
- 37:37Speaker 1: a tell of Zach's Okay, we're able to kind of
- 37:40Speaker 1: understand him more now because we've seen more of him.
- 37:43Speaker 1: It's interesting to me when Zach chooses to confront not
- 37:47Speaker 1: like confronting like hey, you're going home type of way,
- 37:50Speaker 1: and when he doesn't, I feel like a comment like that,
- 37:53Speaker 1: especially with what we've seen from Zach in terms of
- 37:55Speaker 1: his desire to kiss. You know, starting night one, he
- 37:58Speaker 1: was kissing and he's been very kissy since then. That
- 38:03Speaker 1: you know, Greer again says Hey to him, something about
- 38:07Speaker 1: I can relate a little bit because I had a
- 38:09Speaker 1: sales job. I know what she was trying to say there.
- 38:11Speaker 1: It did not come off great, but I get what
- 38:12Speaker 1: she was trying to do. I feel like that was
- 38:15Speaker 1: just like a nervous, like awkward comment. She's like, I
- 38:19Speaker 1: get what you know. I had a sales job and
- 38:21Speaker 1: I got sick and then it made me nervous and anxious.
- 38:24Speaker 1: And he's like, no, it's not at all the same.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I'm looking for my wife here. It's like, okay, semantics, Yes,
- 38:29Speaker 1: I get what you're saying, Zach, you are taking this
- 38:32Speaker 1: very serious. But he confronted that situation. It's interesting me
- 38:35Speaker 1: that he did not confront Gabby on this comment when
- 38:38Speaker 1: she said I'm not really a kisser. Like, we didn't
- 38:41Speaker 1: really see much follow up from that. I mean, we
- 38:45Speaker 1: saw one question, but I'm surprised he didn't like dig
- 38:48Speaker 1: into that a little bit more because he has been
- 38:50Speaker 1: digging in to some of these comments and these questions
- 38:53Speaker 1: throughout the whole season. So it's interesting me when he
- 38:55Speaker 1: chooses to and when he doesn't. That was my comment.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Perhaps he did and we didn't see it, Sure, but
- 39:00Speaker 1: we didn't see it. But also at the same time,
- 39:04Speaker 1: I didn't I didn't feel as if there would be
- 39:07Speaker 1: a follow up. I just didn't feel that fair enough.
- 39:10Speaker 1: All right, let's go onto the group date. Okay, group date.
- 39:13Speaker 1: So there was no group date. The girls went out.
- 39:16Speaker 1: They explored London. The complaining was hilarious, but I know
- 39:19Speaker 1: it was like complaining. I know how this thing works.
- 39:23Speaker 1: You know, you're they're interview in interviews and they're saying,
- 39:26Speaker 1: how upset are you? Like is this fun? Like are
- 39:30Speaker 1: you like glad you went out today? And they're like, well,
- 39:32Speaker 1: it suck because because Zach's not here, and you're like
- 39:36Speaker 1: and they're like, well, do you feel like it's like
- 39:38Speaker 1: even like you think that you should have even done it,
- 39:41Speaker 1: And they're like, well, a lot of it kind of
- 39:42Speaker 1: feels pointless. You know, I understand how the interview process
- 39:45Speaker 1: works and how we get this whole scene of them
- 39:48Speaker 1: being like bummed out about Zach not coming, but at
- 39:50Speaker 1: the end of the day, like what do you want
- 39:54Speaker 1: from my guy? You know, it was weird you know
- 39:56Speaker 1: what was weird about this was I actually, no, I
- 39:59Speaker 1: want to say one more thing before I go on
- 40:01Speaker 1: to what was weird. First we see the complaining part.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Then we see the girls surrender to the fact that
- 40:06Speaker 1: Zack's not going to be there and they should make
- 40:08Speaker 1: the best of it. And I liked that scene when
- 40:10Speaker 1: they're in the bar, they're chucking beers. That was really fun.
- 40:14Speaker 1: That's what I would have hoped that they chose to
- 40:15Speaker 1: do with the day. And then it got weird when
- 40:20Speaker 1: the girls get ready and it look all beautiful and
- 40:23Speaker 1: they're at the night portion of the group day and
- 40:26Speaker 1: they're hoping Zach's going to show up, and then they
- 40:28Speaker 1: get the note that he's not feeling well still and
- 40:33Speaker 1: he's not coming. Now one, i'd be super frustrated because
- 40:37Speaker 1: I would have hyped myself up because I would have
- 40:40Speaker 1: known a big deal it was going to be to
- 40:42Speaker 1: see him. I would have planned what I was going
- 40:44Speaker 1: to be saying. It's just that anxiety level that you
- 40:48Speaker 1: have while preparing for the Bachelor is kind of something.
- 40:51Speaker 1: It takes up a lot of mental space, so I
- 40:53Speaker 1: would been annoyed about that. I would have also been
- 40:56Speaker 1: annoyed at the fact that they hadn't he get ready
- 40:59Speaker 1: so much, looks so nice, and then I wouldn't have
- 41:03Speaker 1: any man to see it. That would have been frustrating.
- 41:07Speaker 1: But the girls were so wacky because they like truly
- 41:11Speaker 1: were mad at Sack. Could you not did you notice this?
- 41:14Speaker 1: They were mad at him, like they're like, I feel
- 41:18Speaker 1: stood up. I feel hurt, and it's like the guy
- 41:22Speaker 1: really doesn't feel good, Like you're not being stood up
- 41:25Speaker 1: here a few comments. I'd be most upset if I
- 41:29Speaker 1: was a woman that I put on a dress that
- 41:31Speaker 1: now I can't rewear throughout the season because I don't
- 41:34Speaker 1: exactly ben thinking like a woman. I love it. Yeah,
- 41:38Speaker 1: you only have so much luggage space. I think you're
- 41:40Speaker 1: allowed to checked bags on the trip, on the on
- 41:44Speaker 1: the travels, and so how many dresses and outfits could
- 41:47Speaker 1: you actually put in there? Um and keep those good
- 41:51Speaker 1: stuff up front? Yeah, so I felt bad from there.
- 41:55Speaker 1: That's I hope they wear those dresses again. I would
- 41:57Speaker 1: respect them, Um, I would be proud of them if
- 42:00Speaker 1: they wore those dresses again. My second, I wouldn't remember
- 42:04Speaker 1: I would have I mean, I would have no clue.
- 42:06Speaker 1: My next is to their benefit and to the viewers
- 42:10Speaker 1: benefit because if you're following Twitter, people are like, wait,
- 42:13Speaker 1: Zach doesn't feel good and he's just leaving these women hanging.
- 42:16Speaker 1: At this point, they have no clue what's going on
- 42:18Speaker 1: with Zach. All we know is viewers, is that he
- 42:21Speaker 1: I mean, he said it, he feels jet lagged and tired. Well,
- 42:25Speaker 1: of course you do, buddy, Like that's what you signed
- 42:27Speaker 1: up for. You're gonna be tired in jetlagged through the
- 42:30Speaker 1: whole season. In fact, you're gonna be like eating weird
- 42:34Speaker 1: foods to this whole season. Your stomach is gonna be
- 42:36Speaker 1: jacked up, your mind's gonna be it with a tape worm.
- 42:40Speaker 1: So okay, a parasite. Yes, So at this point, now again,
- 42:44Speaker 1: this is at this point in the episode of what
- 42:46Speaker 1: we know and what we don't know, I'm even as
- 42:49Speaker 1: a viewer being like, what is going on with this fellow?
- 42:51Speaker 1: Like he needs to get there, he has to go. Really,
- 42:55Speaker 1: this is what you're thinking. You don't know that they're
- 42:57Speaker 1: totally dragging out a COVID diagnosis. I feel like they
- 43:00Speaker 1: knew the entire time. Oh, actually, I'm I'm in it,
- 43:03Speaker 1: like I'm in it by moment by moment, I'm just
- 43:06Speaker 1: going with what I know. I'm not over analyzing this
- 43:09Speaker 1: from this standpeck point, and I've heard Zach now speak
- 43:12Speaker 1: to it. So if he thought he had COVID, I
- 43:14Speaker 1: thought we would have heard him say, like, I wonder
- 43:15Speaker 1: if it's COVID. No, all he said was he's jetlagged
- 43:18Speaker 1: and he has like a bunch of cred in his head. Okay,
- 43:20Speaker 1: fair enough, you don't want to get the other women sick.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Fair good. But that's all we know. And so it
- 43:25Speaker 1: doesn't until the next scene that we find out he
- 43:27Speaker 1: has COVID. So I get that the women are upset
- 43:29Speaker 1: because I'm assuming they're getting even less information about Zach's
- 43:33Speaker 1: illness than we are as viewers. They just know Zack
- 43:36Speaker 1: doesn't feel good, and so they're hearing this and like,
- 43:39Speaker 1: does he not care to come? Now? The reaction of
- 43:42Speaker 1: he's standing us up, it's a little overblown, Like he's
- 43:46Speaker 1: not standing you up. You have to assume the best,
- 43:48Speaker 1: expect the best out of this guy. You know, there's
- 43:51Speaker 1: a lot of you there. He probably wants to be there,
- 43:53Speaker 1: so he's not trying to be a jerk here. There's
- 43:55Speaker 1: no really no room even for him to be a jerk.
- 43:58Speaker 1: As the bachelor, he has to go these dates even
- 44:01Speaker 1: if he doesn't want to go on this date, and
- 44:04Speaker 1: so you're assuming the best, and so I at that point,
- 44:07Speaker 1: once he didn't show up to the cocktail party, I
- 44:12Speaker 1: assume there's more to the story. So here's my conclusion. Yes,
- 44:21Speaker 1: I think they probably were upset. They probably didn't know
- 44:24Speaker 1: a lot about the situation. We knew more as viewers
- 44:27Speaker 1: than they knew as contestants at this point. I did
- 44:30Speaker 1: find it a little odd that none of the women there,
- 44:34Speaker 1: at least none of the woman we heard from, had
- 44:36Speaker 1: any concern about Zach's health, Like not one of them
- 44:39Speaker 1: was like very like concerned about is he doing okay?
- 44:45Speaker 1: They all just kind of like the only people we
- 44:47Speaker 1: heard from at least, we're all kind of on the
- 44:49Speaker 1: camp of like this dude just stood us up. I
- 44:51Speaker 1: got sit up this morning, and I got to sit
- 44:53Speaker 1: up tonight. That's interesting me that that's where their minds
- 44:56Speaker 1: jumped to it. I don't know if it tells you
- 44:59Speaker 1: how they feel about Zach, what they expect at is Zach,
- 45:03Speaker 1: but at least it tells you kind of where they're
- 45:05Speaker 1: out in the process and what they're feeling about the process.
- 45:09Speaker 1: I feel like there's some things chopped out because on
- 45:11Speaker 1: the show these days you have to I don't think
- 45:14Speaker 1: you don't have to quarantine in your room for like
- 45:16Speaker 1: days beforehand. But their COVID protocols are wild to the
- 45:21Speaker 1: point of Jared and I were visiting la a couple
- 45:24Speaker 1: weeks ago and we went to have lunch with two
- 45:28Speaker 1: of the producers, and then there was another producer that
- 45:31Speaker 1: was like up in his office and they're like, waved
- 45:32Speaker 1: to him. You know, she's gonna like get on the phone,
- 45:35Speaker 1: and we wave two him took a glass and I
- 45:37Speaker 1: was like, this is ridiculous. Let's just go up there
- 45:39Speaker 1: and all this study, like so he can meet Dawson
- 45:41Speaker 1: and we'll just say hi for like ten minutes in
- 45:43Speaker 1: the office. And they're like, no, you'd have to get
- 45:46Speaker 1: tested before going into the office. Like that's how the
- 45:50Speaker 1: insane the protocols are. And then there's they can't like
- 45:52Speaker 1: have a certain amount of meetings, like you can have
- 45:57Speaker 1: like five, six, seven people in a meeting room, but
- 46:00Speaker 1: if the meetings beyond that, then they have to sit
- 46:03Speaker 1: in their office on zoom when the other person is
- 46:08Speaker 1: in the office next to them. That's how like tights,
- 46:11Speaker 1: their protocols still are on the Bachelor. So if I
- 46:14Speaker 1: were these girls and they maybe they're suggesting it and
- 46:18Speaker 1: questioning it as well, and we don't see it because
- 46:22Speaker 1: they wouldn't add that into the edit. But I'm sure
- 46:25Speaker 1: most of the girls are saying, like, he's got COVID.
- 46:27Speaker 1: You guys, you know he has COVID. You know he
- 46:29Speaker 1: has COVID, and they're not risking things, and that's I'm
- 46:34Speaker 1: assuming that there's chatter about that. However, Ben, yes, you
- 46:37Speaker 1: do say that it's weird that the girls don't mention
- 46:39Speaker 1: like how he's doing. I would have assumed that if
- 46:43Speaker 1: the Bachelor is not going on dates, he must be
- 46:46Speaker 1: really freaking sick, like he must really not feel good,
- 46:49Speaker 1: because that's never happened before. As a fan, you know,
- 46:52Speaker 1: you've never seen it before, and you know the bachelors
- 46:55Speaker 1: must have been sick and like, look at you, you
- 46:58Speaker 1: were diarrheing then entire time, but you showed up. This
- 47:02Speaker 1: guy must have been ill to not go on these dates. Well,
- 47:06Speaker 1: they're probably over. They're probably more sensitive to illness today
- 47:09Speaker 1: than they were during my time. Obviously because of COVID.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I don't you know, I don't know and understand, nor
- 47:16Speaker 1: am I really care of how strict they are with
- 47:20Speaker 1: their COVID policies. Now, I do find like that would
- 47:23Speaker 1: be weird, right, That's different than how we're functioning in
- 47:25Speaker 1: the normal world, And so that is interesting that it's
- 47:28Speaker 1: a studio thing, you know, it's not like a we
- 47:30Speaker 1: all know that's like a it's like a thing to
- 47:35Speaker 1: flash forward then, because the next segment here is when
- 47:37Speaker 1: we do find out Zach has COVID. Jesse tells the
- 47:40Speaker 1: women he has COVID. The reaction is, um, you know,
- 47:45Speaker 1: is more like solemn, like melancholy, like people are starting
- 47:49Speaker 1: to understand and feel it seems like they're worried about him. Um,
- 47:53Speaker 1: you know. They're then told that they're gonna have this
- 47:55Speaker 1: virtual cocktail party. There's some things I want to talk
- 47:59Speaker 1: about because I was super interesting and it is really
- 48:02Speaker 1: honestly interesting that they even decided to do it for
- 48:05Speaker 1: the show. H I am so to your point of
- 48:09Speaker 1: how strict they are about COVID policies, Okay, And everybody
- 48:14Speaker 1: has their own opinions on this, like, hope I'm not
- 48:16Speaker 1: being too revealing by saying that, but these girls are
- 48:19Speaker 1: getting like tested every day too, I'm pretty sure. Okay. Still,
- 48:23Speaker 1: so that no matter how you feel about the vaccine
- 48:28Speaker 1: and the boosters, you know, that gets into some political
- 48:30Speaker 1: some like religious, some like just own personal feelings, no
- 48:34Speaker 1: matter how you feel about COVID in general. Like, let's
- 48:36Speaker 1: just for the sake of this conversation, let's all agree
- 48:41Speaker 1: that COVID is a thing. Okay, that's the thing. It's
- 48:44Speaker 1: a it's it's it's something that causes people to get sick. Okay,
- 48:48Speaker 1: that's we have to start at this foundation just for
- 48:50Speaker 1: the sake of this conversation. Okay, if you want to
- 48:52Speaker 1: argue with me on that later, great, But for the
- 48:53Speaker 1: sake of this conversation, COVID is a thing that makes
- 48:56Speaker 1: people sick. Um, And with you mentioning how strict the
- 49:01Speaker 1: show is on their guidelines and on the testing requirements
- 49:04Speaker 1: and on how safe they are, it's very interesting to
- 49:08Speaker 1: me not that Zach got COVID, who knows how he
- 49:11Speaker 1: did it, but that there isn't really any like they
- 49:16Speaker 1: still went on a group date, Like if they were
- 49:18Speaker 1: that concerned about Zach having COVID and the fact that
- 49:20Speaker 1: he was making out with Gabby the night before exactly
- 49:24Speaker 1: why aren't they making the girls eyes alight? And Gabby
- 49:27Speaker 1: is in the room with all of these women. Then
- 49:31Speaker 1: that's where I'm That's when my analysis the show starts kicking,
- 49:34Speaker 1: and I go, did they really think Zach was that sick?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Did the show really expect him to have COVID? Because
- 49:39Speaker 1: if they did, there is zero chance in my mind,
- 49:42Speaker 1: with how strict they are, that they would have allowed
- 49:44Speaker 1: all these women to go out on this group date
- 49:47Speaker 1: around the city and into bars and onto buses and
- 49:51Speaker 1: be in the general public amongst each other if they
- 49:55Speaker 1: had any concern that COVID was spreading amongst their set.
- 49:59Speaker 1: That they never I don't know if they lied he
- 50:01Speaker 1: doesn't have it, he didn't have it? Well you, I
- 50:03Speaker 1: mean you would say that. I don't want to put
- 50:05Speaker 1: words in your mouth, but you would say. With the
- 50:07Speaker 1: Logan situation down in Paradise, you're still confused on if
- 50:09Speaker 1: he had COVID or not. I think Zach was sick.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Rumor has it that Logan had COVID? They didn't tell
- 50:16Speaker 1: anyone and he wasn't allowed back on the boat. Yeah,
- 50:19Speaker 1: so was Zach? I do think? I mean, I'm gonna
- 50:22Speaker 1: assume he had COVID like I think he did. I
- 50:23Speaker 1: don't think he felt good. I don't think he wanted
- 50:25Speaker 1: to lay in his hotel room in London. I don't
- 50:28Speaker 1: know why he wouldn't want to see these women. Maybe
- 50:30Speaker 1: he was just tired, but that would be like best
- 50:32Speaker 1: case scenario. I'm assuming he has COVID. I don't know
- 50:36Speaker 1: why the show would make it anything other than that
- 50:38Speaker 1: there's no benefit to them doing virtual cocktail parties. There's
- 50:41Speaker 1: no like benefit there unless Zoom had a massive deal
- 50:45Speaker 1: to you know, on this show. I don't even think
- 50:47Speaker 1: they didn't even say Zoom they did so, and so
- 50:51Speaker 1: I'm just confused on how the process played out logistically
- 50:55Speaker 1: amongst the women, because we didn't see any of that.
- 50:58Speaker 1: It just felt like everybody went on his business as usual,
- 51:00Speaker 1: like Zach didn't exist, and that Zach had no contact
- 51:03Speaker 1: with these women. Honestly, Like, I am not at a
- 51:07Speaker 1: place to argue what was right and wrong. I don't know.
- 51:09Speaker 1: I just found it interesting and I found it odd
- 51:13Speaker 1: with how strict they are that this just the show
- 51:14Speaker 1: just kept going. Yeah, I guess they're like, what am
- 51:20Speaker 1: I supposed to do? I think the most puzzling thing
- 51:22Speaker 1: is that they're just cool with having Gabby around. You
- 51:25Speaker 1: would have thought at least quarantine Gabby. I don't know. Again,
- 51:29Speaker 1: like I don't know. I don't want to quarantine. You know,
- 51:33Speaker 1: these are like young, healthy people. But yes, according to
- 51:36Speaker 1: how strict they've been, you're I'm surprised. Anyway, moving on,
- 51:41Speaker 1: let's talk about the digital Let's talk about the digital
- 51:43Speaker 1: cocktail party, which when he suggested it, I thought it
- 51:46Speaker 1: was going to be like in lieu of a group date.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I thought this is a cocktail party, not necessarily the
- 51:54Speaker 1: pre rose cocktail party. I again audibly responded. When I
- 52:00Speaker 1: heard that it would be ending with the roast ceremony,
- 52:02Speaker 1: I was like, this is wild, it's intense. Well, we
- 52:08Speaker 1: should all be good at it now though, like zoom
- 52:11Speaker 1: date should be very common in this gating. Yeah, we've
- 52:14Speaker 1: all done it. We've all you know, FaceTime, we zoomed
- 52:17Speaker 1: over COVID, we made connections over. Yeah. Sure they should
- 52:20Speaker 1: be good at it. Yeah, but you know, it's awkward.
- 52:22Speaker 1: I don't know how people didn't do this, Like, I
- 52:24Speaker 1: don't know how people go on first dates and stuff
- 52:26Speaker 1: without being in the same room. I find myself always
- 52:30Speaker 1: being more at a loss for conversation when I'm over
- 52:33Speaker 1: a screen. No, hilariously, we do a podcast. But it's
- 52:37Speaker 1: when people when when you're meeting people for the first time,
- 52:39Speaker 1: you know, when you have like a friend and then
- 52:42Speaker 1: their facetiming their friend and they're like, say hi, meet
- 52:44Speaker 1: my friend, and You're like, hi, I had no idea
- 52:48Speaker 1: what to say to you, but in person it would
- 52:50Speaker 1: just come way more naturally. Sure, Okay, well that's fair. Um.
- 52:56Speaker 1: I will say there is something that was brought up
- 52:58Speaker 1: that I've never publicly told anybody. Somebody I forget who
- 53:03Speaker 1: said that they feel weird on this virtual group date
- 53:07Speaker 1: because or virtual cocktail party because they can only see
- 53:11Speaker 1: Zach and they can't see themselves. I find myself. I
- 53:13Speaker 1: sit on Zoom meetings most of the day. I work
- 53:14Speaker 1: from home, and so I probably have four or five
- 53:17Speaker 1: meetings on Zoom or on some type of virtual platform
- 53:20Speaker 1: a day, and well, I'm always finding myself looking at myself.
- 53:25Speaker 1: I don't know if it's just less awkward, I don't know.
- 53:27Speaker 1: I mean, I don't even know if I'm looking at myself.
- 53:29Speaker 1: I'm just more looking in the direction of myself because
- 53:32Speaker 1: it feels more comfortable and Zach kind of responded said yeah,
- 53:38Speaker 1: Zach responded like it was weird, Like, yeah, Zach thought
- 53:41Speaker 1: it was like conceited. Yeah, So like, am I I
- 53:44Speaker 1: mean I might be. I mean I I would be
- 53:46Speaker 1: very open to anybody telling me any issues with myself.
- 53:49Speaker 1: Maybe I'm conceited, and maybe I'm the only one other
- 53:52Speaker 1: than Greer in the world that doesn't find that weird.
- 53:54Speaker 1: But I do it. I do, of course we do.
- 53:57Speaker 1: And right now you're speaking to me sideways. Well I
- 54:02Speaker 1: don't even see you looking into the phone sideways like this. Yeah, yeah,
- 54:07Speaker 1: am I the only one definitely not looking at me
- 54:09Speaker 1: in that case? So, but no, you're not weird. Right
- 54:12Speaker 1: now currently, without even thinking about our conversation topic, I'm
- 54:15Speaker 1: looking at myself while talking. I think I look at
- 54:18Speaker 1: you when you're talking, and then I look at myself
- 54:21Speaker 1: when I'm talking. Yeah. So why did Zach have such
- 54:24Speaker 1: a problem with this? Is he just that he is? He?
- 54:27Speaker 1: Are we seeing he is because he was sassy again
- 54:31Speaker 1: with Greer when she was trying to say something nice
- 54:33Speaker 1: and relate with him. So here is my comment going
- 54:35Speaker 1: back to before. Is he just kind of I mean,
- 54:38Speaker 1: he kept her around, But is he just getting like
- 54:41Speaker 1: annoyed by her. It seems like he is, Yeah, he
- 54:43Speaker 1: just doesn't like her right now. Yeah, I don't know.
- 54:46Speaker 1: He was scary with her. I would have been like,
- 54:49Speaker 1: I'm going to self eliminate. I mean, I sense that
- 54:52Speaker 1: she was so weird she wasn't gonna get a rose,
- 54:53Speaker 1: but once she got the rose, she felt like she
- 54:55Speaker 1: was right back in the game. Well she should feel
- 54:58Speaker 1: like that. She should feel pretty powerful having such a
- 55:01Speaker 1: crappy moment and then being able to rebound from it
- 55:04Speaker 1: or have him be like still interested enough to like
- 55:08Speaker 1: really give her the chance that she's been craving. I
- 55:11Speaker 1: felt I felt bad for her. He was being cold,
- 55:16Speaker 1: and we know that he's like this, Like I'm not
- 55:17Speaker 1: saying he's a cold guy, but he can be cold.
- 55:21Speaker 1: He'd be blunt, like every time people somebody's like I'm
- 55:26Speaker 1: feeling this way, Like he doesn't sugarcoat it. He's like,
- 55:28Speaker 1: you know what, I'm feeling that way too, And that
- 55:32Speaker 1: can be like intimidating. I feel like people don't really
- 55:36Speaker 1: know how to respond to bluntness like that. Sometimes they're
- 55:40Speaker 1: usually like taken aback, And I would have been taken aback,
- 55:44Speaker 1: like the fact that he like wasn't giggling like I
- 55:46Speaker 1: think we'd all try to make the other person feel
- 55:48Speaker 1: better in like the moment where like you and I
- 55:50Speaker 1: just had the conversation about like where we look when
- 55:53Speaker 1: we're on a video chat, and it was like kind
- 55:57Speaker 1: of like, you know, it's not funny, hall, but it's like,
- 56:01Speaker 1: you know, a little bantery, and then you kind of
- 56:04Speaker 1: can make fun of the other person. But he didn't
- 56:06Speaker 1: like make fun of her in like a lighthearted way.
- 56:08Speaker 1: And then this thing about her comparing him finding a
- 56:12Speaker 1: wife to her last quarter sales and her trying to
- 56:16Speaker 1: relate and yes, it not being of course as serious
- 56:19Speaker 1: of a matter, but you know, in her heart, she
- 56:21Speaker 1: was just trying to relate and start a conversation and
- 56:25Speaker 1: he didn't like it. So what do you think, Well,
- 56:29Speaker 1: I think if Kat would have said the same thing,
- 56:31Speaker 1: he'd have been cool with it exactly. Yeah, been fine.
- 56:35Speaker 1: I mean it's it's telling to me that he's just
- 56:37Speaker 1: not into it. You know, those kind of comments get
- 56:41Speaker 1: you know this, like you're married, and people out there
- 56:43Speaker 1: listening are married or in a serious relationship. If these
- 56:47Speaker 1: types of comments are gonna throw you off, like it's
- 56:52Speaker 1: going to be a long road in a relationship, like
- 56:54Speaker 1: these things get said every day, Like I say something
- 56:57Speaker 1: stupid as Jessica when I'm trying to relate with her
- 56:59Speaker 1: or I'm trying to explain a situation to her, she
- 57:02Speaker 1: says something to me that like is like what, like
- 57:05Speaker 1: what are you talking about? Like you just you have
- 57:09Speaker 1: to just like deal with it where humans were saying
- 57:11Speaker 1: weird stuff and we're trying and especially in a situation
- 57:13Speaker 1: where it's very uncomfortable in general, especially one it's uncomfortable.
- 57:17Speaker 1: You're on the Bachelor. You're talking to somebody for the
- 57:20Speaker 1: first few times on camera. Secondly you've been thrown with this.
- 57:24Speaker 1: You're gonna talk via screen, yes, and then they'll be
- 57:28Speaker 1: on camera. This is so such an awkward situation that
- 57:31Speaker 1: you're gonna have like that nervous that like nervous energy
- 57:35Speaker 1: where you just say stupid things to fill the void.
- 57:39Speaker 1: And so I think it was I just think it's
- 57:43Speaker 1: telling that he's not that into her, honestly, and that's
- 57:45Speaker 1: okay if he's not, he doesn't have to be. But
- 57:48Speaker 1: I just think it's telling that he's he's not that
- 57:50Speaker 1: into her, because if you were into somebody, you would
- 57:55Speaker 1: either laugh at off or be like wait, tell me
- 57:57Speaker 1: that again, like you're crazy, like you stare your cell
- 58:00Speaker 1: phone camera. I've never done that, like you would just
- 58:03Speaker 1: play with it a little bit, because that's just humans
- 58:07Speaker 1: being humans, trying to communicate with each other in a
- 58:09Speaker 1: very weird environment. And so I just think he's not
- 58:13Speaker 1: that into her, and that's well, that's why I have
- 58:15Speaker 1: my theory that I don't think she's gonna be around
- 58:17Speaker 1: much longer. Well then why do you think that, Like
- 58:20Speaker 1: he didn't choose Kylie over her because he seemed to
- 58:23Speaker 1: be enjoying Kylie. Um, that's a good question. I think
- 58:30Speaker 1: there's more to Greer to figure out. I think there's
- 58:33Speaker 1: a side of him maybe where he's going. Greer and
- 58:37Speaker 1: eyes conversation was so awkward and weird, and we've had
- 58:39Speaker 1: such a good history that I can't just say goodbye
- 58:43Speaker 1: like this to her. But yet, like I know, Kylie
- 58:46Speaker 1: and Mercedes aren't my wife, and so I can say
- 58:47Speaker 1: goodbye to them. I feel like we're on good terms.
- 58:50Speaker 1: But Greer, I'd like to try to do this in person.
- 58:54Speaker 1: That's why I think next week, if I had to
- 58:57Speaker 1: bet on it, I think Greer is going home, And
- 58:59Speaker 1: I think it's gonna happened by him having a conversation
- 59:01Speaker 1: with her in person. I can see the in person
- 59:05Speaker 1: thing feeling like the appropriate mood for him. Yeah, I
- 59:09Speaker 1: just got the first It was just weird. It was
- 59:11Speaker 1: a weird I mean, And do I think Greers like relatability?
- 59:18Speaker 1: There was off. Yes, I don't think your sales quarter
- 59:21Speaker 1: and you're finding your wife of the same thing. I
- 59:24Speaker 1: think probably Zach is extra sensitive, as we've seen, to
- 59:28Speaker 1: this and to this situation being very important to him.
- 59:31Speaker 1: I think he's holding that very close to his chest,
- 59:34Speaker 1: and I think it is important to him. I think
- 59:35Speaker 1: it should be important to him. So I do think
- 59:38Speaker 1: she probably upset him a bit, and he probably he
- 59:42Speaker 1: probably felt like you don't get it kind of thing.
- 59:46Speaker 1: It was just probably what he wanted to say, really
- 59:48Speaker 1: was you just don't get it? Do you like you
- 59:50Speaker 1: don't get how important this is to me? But I
- 59:53Speaker 1: think she was just trying to be sweet, and I
- 59:55Speaker 1: think she was just trying to be relatable. That's why
- 59:57Speaker 1: I would say that reaction was a little bit harsh.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: But if he's not into her, we'll find out. I
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: think the normal Okay, maybe normal isn't the right word,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: But I think the reaction that you and I would
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: probably have would be like, wait, what are you telling
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: you that you pick your last quarter and this is
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: the same thing. It's like, I appreciate you kind of
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: coming up with something relatable, but like, you know, something
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: a little bit more, or like, no, that's not hindsight,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: but hindsight, But hindsight is always better. And we, you know,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: we can sit here and be armchair experts and say
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: this is what we would have done. I think if
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: it was somebody I wasn't into and I was just
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: kind of annoyed by in general, just for whatever reason,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: I probably would have been like, yeah, I might have
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: had the same reaction as Zach. You know what, Ben,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: thank you for correcting me, because now I'm trying to
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: think of it being somebody that I'm just over, yeah,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: like I don't like you anymore, or on the fence
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: about you, and then you said it. I would have
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: also been liked out too. I know myself, I just
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: took myself back to dating whenever I was like, on
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: a third date was somebody and I was trying to
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: figure out whether or not this was really worth exploring,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: and they did something like that I'd be like grossed
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: out or as they call it today, the ick the ick. Well,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: my guess is I mean I'm saying it. I don't
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: think Greer is around past next week, which is unfortunately
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: we haven't got to see a ton from the woman
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: who got the first impression Rose, except for in this
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: episode we got to see her a ton without me. Yeah,
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: not the best look. Though Ashley to close out, Mercedes
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: and Kylie did go home, the rest of them are staying.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: The kind of scenes for the future episodes do look
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: very interesting to me. It does go back to our
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: first assumption after seeing the preview, is that something happens
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: that shocks his world and that rocks the women's world.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: We see Zach apologizing, which is a big deal. We've
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: seen it a few times now from the leads. We
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: can go back to Clayton when he was apologizing, but
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: we see Zach apologizing, which I think is a very
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: big deal. He's apologizing for something that wrecks some relationships
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: and right now we don't really know what that is.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: We're getting a hint that he is intimate with somebody
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: in outside of kind of the normal format and that
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: really upsets some people could be that. We saw that
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: with Clayton, but then the rest of the season does
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: look emotional. We're getting into kind of the nitty gritty
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: of this season where it starts to get very interesting,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: where relationships are really blossoming. Those that blossom sometimes don't
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: work out, and that pulls at our heartstrings. It pulls
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: it Sack's heartstrings, it pulls it the women's heart strings.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: So a lot to look forward to coming up. But
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: it leads me to my and you've kind of already
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: answered it, but we just to be clear. Actually, after
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: seeing this episode, moving into the next week's episode, who
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: were your top three four, Zach? Like I said the
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: top of the show, we got Katie, Cat and surprisingly
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: now Gabby. I will say that if there's drama with
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: anyone in the future, it looks like it will be Cats.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: According to this snippet from the scenes from the next episode,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: it's gonna break that boy's heart. Okay, my top three four, Zach.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: At this point our Cat still Brooklyn and Charity Cat
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Brooklyn and Charity. Okay, yep, I can agree with that.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: I would probably put Charity at four right now. Yeah,
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: I think she's still there. I don't think we've got
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: to see a ton from her, But I think she's
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: just I don't think we're seeing a ton from her
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: because she's gonna be a big player on this season
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: and she's gonna be around a long time. Yeah, I
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: think we've seen a decent amount from her for somebody
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: who hasn't had a one on one yet. Sure, sure,
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: I would imagine a runner one's coming. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: all right Bachelor headlines after this break, yeah, right off
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: his break. Really, I want to say, though, Ashley, with
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: our top three, well, there's a lot of women that
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: we feel like have strong relationships. Because we'd even mentioned Aeriel,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: we did not, I mean I didn't mention Gabby, I
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: didn't mention Katie, and so if we add ours together,
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: most of the women left we feel like have a
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: chance with Zach, which is interesting for this point in
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: the season that's typically not the case. And so yeah,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: there's gonna be some deep formed relationships. I like it.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: I like this. But that's why I thought this was
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: a particularly engaging episode because I really didn't know what
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: was going to happen at the Rows ceremony, and I
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: really don't know what's going to happen in the future,
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: and it's kind of exciting to have so many front
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: runners and not like one horse, one horse in the game.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: All right, Bachelor headlines are coming up right after this break.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Bachelorette alum Eric, who dated and was with Gabby at
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: the end of their season, is dating model Elizabeth Turner
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: after the split from Gabby Ashley, I mentioned to you
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: that this is shocking to me because years ago, like
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: years ago before Jessica on this podcasting, Yeah, you asked
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: who is my celebrity crush, and I said Elizabeth Turner. Yeah,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: So this is weird to me, like very odd that
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: this is happening, because I think I said even then,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: I was like, I don't think a lot of people
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: know where she's like a model, and I never had
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: any contact with her. So then I see Eric's dating
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: and I'm like, that's a weird full circle moment for me. Okay,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: so Eric seems to be dating her Eric as in
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Gabby's Eric. Eric. Sure, he posted something on a heat
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: She posted something on Valentine's Day and he reposted it.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: It was a picture of the two of them kissing
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and it said Valentine Valentine. They underneath it, so I
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: think we can say that they're in a committed relationship.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: A couple months ago, he said to Okay magazine after
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: he and Gabby broke up, that he wants to find
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: his best friend, someone he can vibe with every day,
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: a partnership where they can lean and support each other
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: through the highs and lows, someone who's open to adventure,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: but also for the occasional white lotus binge in one
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: sitting in a fiery romance because at the end of
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: the day, I'm a hopeless romantic. So we don't really
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: know much more about their relationship. But she is a model.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: She is signed with One Management in New York City.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: She hasn't about a million Instagram followers, and it's a
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: girl that has a little bit of a track record
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: in Bachelor Nation. If you google her name, it'll pop
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: up that she also had a something something perhaps with
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: Tyler Cameron and didn't you, sir, there was someone else
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: rumor as she did a Leonardo DiCaprio. Oh yeah, maybe
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: not Bachelornation, but even bigger than that, Leo. So all right,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: what's our next headline? Ben, that's a big headline. That's
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: an interesting one. I did not expect Eric to be
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: popping up with somebody that had dated Leonardo DiCaprio, that
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: that was not on the Bingo card this year. The Bachelor,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Brooklyn speaks out after revealing she was in an abusive relationship.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: If you listen to her episode where she spoke about
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: this with Zach, there's a lot of courage in her statement,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: and now she's speaking out after the show to the public. Yeah.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: So she got on Instagram after last week's episode. She said,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: I'm so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: from everyone. It does not go unnoticed and it is
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: even more appreciated than anyone will ever know. Well, uh,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: still just a ton of courage by Brooklyn, and it
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: was a big deal for so many, and so many
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: reacted in such a way of relatability and support for Brooklyn.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Well switching gears a little bit. There is a there's
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: a battle going on amongst reality television dating shows. The
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: headline is this, Nick Lasher says it doesn't get and
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: I quote more authentic than Love is Blind after shade
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: by Bachelor host Jesse Plummer. All right, Ben, this sounds
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: a little bit like the headline is a little bit
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: juicier than the actual quotes are here. I don't even
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: think that Jesse really shaded him at all. That's just
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: like one of those words that tabloids love to use
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: to make more click bad. Right, Okay, so this is
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: what Nick said. He said, I don't think it gets
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: more authentic than Love is Blind. The whole premise of
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: the show is authenticity. It's getting to know someone for
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: their true self, their real self, and then introducing the physical,
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: so certainly a different angle into finding love. I would
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: that Love Is Blind is probably the most authentic dating
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: show we've ever seen that ends at the altar, in
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: my opinion, I understand how it seems like Nick is
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: maybe shading the show there a little bit, especially when
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: he says the show ends at the altar, because can
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: you think of any other dating show that ends at
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: the altar besides The Bachelor and Love Is Blind. Jesse's
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: response is the Bachelor was first. I think a big
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: part of The Bachelor is authenticity and really trying to
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: get back to what the core of the show has
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: always been about and what it's supposed to be about.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: So it sounds like there's a little bit of a
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: battle of authenticity in reality TV. But I don't think
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: anything any feelings are hurt here. Next headline is this ABC,
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: and this blew up my Instagram this week with tons
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: of messages from you all asking what I thought, not
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: even nothing about it. But the ABC denies reports they
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: are considering bringing back Chris Harrett to Harrison to save
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: the Bachelor and replace Jesse Palmer. As in I quote here,
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: the show is on life support two years after racism
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: scandal sent Chris packing with a ten million dollars payoff.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: All right, I saw these rumors swirling on social media
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: last week, and I think some of us may have
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: gotten a little bit excited to hear that there may
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: have been a chance at Chris coming back. But ABC
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: squashed the rumor within hours. Don't have much info about it.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: All I can say is that there's an insider out
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: there that says that everyone is aware that the Bachelor
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: is on life support, and I guess out of just
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: that statement, a lot of people were like, the best
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: way to spark the show back to life would be
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: to have Chris back, and maybe it got out of hand,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: but ABC is denying that there are any plans to
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: bring him back. Final headline of the day. Emily Ferguson
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: shares stunning maternity photos. In thirteen weeks, we will be
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: holding our beautiful baby boy. These are the cutest pictures ever.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: You have to check out Emily Ferguson Carlson's Instagram. I
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: can't believe the baby is going to be due in
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: about thirteen weeks. It's crazy, but it's so beautiful Emily
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: and her husband. Definitely go and check it out. Emily
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: says she's not having that pregnancy glow as I insisted,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: and everybody knows that I did not have. But she
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: does look stunning and you can see other Bachelor Nation
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: comments underneath there, like from Kendall Long who says absolutely
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: glowing babe, and then Emily's sister says, mom and dad,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: I cannot handle. So definitely go check out those pictures.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: They're adorable. What a cool time. Marriages are forming, babies
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: are being born, life is continuing, and yes, the Bachelor
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: is as well. Next week, we'll be breaking down another
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: episode of this season right here on the Almost Famous podcast.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: You can count on It. Ashley and I will be
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: here and I'm intrigued for the rest of this season,
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: but until then, I've been been, I've been Ashley. See
