1:03
Is
1:03
here
1:03
to
1:03
guide
1:03
you
1:04
through
1:04
the
1:04
latest
1:04
tips,
1:05
tricks
1:05
and
1:05
trends
1:06
coming
1:06
up.
1:07
In
1:07
this
1:07
week's
1:07
second
1:08
hour
1:08
of
1:08
the.
1:08
Show,
1:09
we've
1:10
been
1:10
talking
1:10
about
1:10
the
1:10
top
1:11
10
1:11
mistakes
1:11
kitchen
1:12
and
1:12
bath
1:12
designers
1:12
make
1:12
in
1:13
designing
1:13
projects.
1:14
Now
1:15
number
1:15
six
1:15
here
1:16
is
1:16
an
1:16
important
1:16
one,
1:17
lack
1:17
of
1:18
spatial
1:18
awareness
1:19
and
1:19
walkways.
1:21
So
1:21
many
1:21
times
1:21
people
1:22
want
1:22
to
1:22
jam
1:23
that
1:23
island
1:23
in
1:23
there
1:24
and
1:24
they
1:24
want
1:24
to
1:24
make
1:24
as
1:24
big
1:25
as
1:25
possible
1:26
and
1:27
they
1:27
don't
1:27
really
1:28
realize
1:28
how
1:29
important
1:29
that
1:29
walkway
1:30
space
1:30
is.
1:31
My
1:31
minimum
1:32
when
1:32
you're
1:33
walking
1:33
around
1:33
an
1:33
island
1:34
is
1:35
42
1:35
inches
1:36
of
1:36
walkway
1:37
space.
1:38
Now
1:38
that
1:38
is
1:38
from
1:38
countertop
1:39
to
1:40
so.
1:40
Grab
1:40
your
1:41
toolbox,
1:41
put
1:42
on
1:42
your
1:42
thinking
1:42
cap
1:43
and
1:43
let's
1:43
get
1:43
to
1:44
work
1:44
right
1:45
here
1:45
on
1:45
around
1:45
the
1:46
House
1:46
with
1:46
Eric.
1:46
G.
1:47
Welcome
1:48
to
1:48
the
1:48
Round
1:48
the
1:48
House
1:49
show,
1:49
the
1:49
next
1:49
generation
1:50
of
1:50
home
1:50
improvement.
1:51
I'm
1:51
Eric
1:51
G.
1:52
Your
1:52
host.
1:52
Today
1:53
we
1:53

1:54

1:54
great
1:54
show
1:54
lined
1:55
up.
1:55
Today
1:55
we're
1:55
going
1:55
to
1:56
be
1:56
talking
1:56
about
1:57
design,
1:57
cabinetry,
1:58
kitchens,
1:59
bathrooms,
2:00
all
2:00
that
2:00
other
2:00
stuff.
2:00
If
2:01
you
2:01
want
2:01
to
2:01
find
2:01
out
2:01
more
2:01
about
2:02
us,
2:02
head
2:02

2:14
This
2:14
is
2:15
that
2:15
affordable
2:15
stuff
2:16
that's
2:16
going
2:16
to
2:16
last.
2:17
It's
2:17
durable.
2:18
Heck,
2:19
I've
2:19
got
2:19
a
2:19
couple
2:19
of
2:19
them
2:20
myself.
2:21
They
2:21
are
2:21
great
2:21
barbecues
2:22
to
2:22
cook
2:22
on.
2:23
When
2:23
it
2:23
comes
2:23
to
2:23
something
2:24
portable,
2:25
something
2:25
you
2:25
want
2:25
to
2:25
roll
2:26
around
2:26
the
2:26
deck,
2:26
not
2:27
the
2:27
big
2:27
built
2:27
in
2:28
stuff.
2:28
These
2:28
guys
2:29
have
2:29
got
2:29
it
2:29
just
2:30
dialed
2:30
in
2:31
for
2:31
you.
2:31
Something
2:31
fun
2:32
to
2:32
cook
2:32
with.

2:35
Today
2:35
I
2:35
wanted
2:35
to
2:36
talk
2:36
about
2:36
my
2:36
top
2:36
10
2:37
mistakes
2:37
kitchen
2:38
and
2:38
bath
2:38
designers
2:39
make
2:39
in
2:39
designing
2:39
projects
2:40
and
2:41
some
2:41
buyer's
2:41
guide
2:42
if
2:42
we
2:42
can
2:42
get
2:43
to
2:43
that.
2:44
I
2:44
have
2:44
been
2:45
my
2:45
background.
2:46
I've
2:46
got
2:46
about
2:46
35
2:47
years
2:47
of
2:48
kitchen
2:48
and
2:48
bath
2:49
design.
2:49
I
2:49
am
2:49
a
2:49
certified
2:50
kitchen
2:50
designer
2:51
with
2:51
the
2:52
National
2:52
Kitchen
2:52
and
2:52
Bath
2:53
association
2:54
and
2:54
I
2:55
have
2:55
nothing
2:56
bad
2:56
to
2:56
say
2:56
about
2:56
the
2:57
kitchen
2:57
and
2:57
bath
2:57
design
2:58
community
2:58
out
2:58
there.
2:59
There
2:59
are
2:59
so
3:00
many
3:00
great
3:00
people.
3:00
There
3:01
are
3:01
so
3:01
many
3:01
great
3:02
designers
3:02
out
3:03
there.
3:03
But
3:04
I
3:04
want
3:04
to
3:04
talk
3:04
about
3:04
some
3:05
of
3:05
the
3:05
common
3:05
things
3:05
that
3:06
happen
3:06
out
3:06
there,
3:07
especially
3:08
with
3:08
newer
3:09
designers.
3:10
And
3:11
this
3:11
is
3:11
something
3:12
that
3:12
I
3:12
want
3:12
you
3:12
to
3:12
be
3:12
aware
3:13
of
3:13
as
3:13
a
3:13
consumer.
3:14
Everybody
3:15
starts
3:15
out
3:16
as
3:16
rookies.
3:17
I
3:18
started
3:18
out
3:18
as
3:18
rookie.
3:19
Every
3:19
designer
3:20
starts
3:20
out
3:21
starting
3:21
out
3:21
with
3:21
new
3:22
stuff.
3:23
You're
3:23
learning.
3:24
It
3:24
takes
3:25
years
3:26
for
3:26
a
3:27
kitchen
3:28
or
3:28
bath
3:28
designer
3:29
to
3:29
get
3:29
good
3:29
at
3:30
their
3:30
trade
3:30
and
3:31
understand
3:31
it
3:32
fully.
3:33
That's
3:33
why
3:33
I
3:33
always
3:34
say
3:34
as
3:34
a
3:34
homeowner,
3:35
it
3:36
is
3:37
massively
3:37
foolish
3:38
to
3:38
not
3:39
hire
3:39
one
3:39
to
3:40
design
3:40
out
3:40
your
3:41
cabinetry
3:41
projects.
3:42
And
3:42
there
3:43
are
3:43
a
3:43
ton
3:43
of
3:43
arrogant
3:44
people
3:44
out
3:44
there
3:44
that
3:44
go,
3:45
guess
3:45
what?
3:45
I
3:45
know
3:45
more
3:46
than
3:46
anybody
3:46
else
3:46
and
3:46
I'm
3:47
never
3:47
going
3:47
to
3:47
hire
3:47
one.
3:47
I
3:48
can
3:48
draw
3:48
it
3:48
out
3:48
myself
3:49
and
3:50
mistakes
3:50
are
3:50
always
3:51
made.
3:51
I
3:52
don't
3:52
care
3:52
if
3:52
you've
3:52
designed
3:53
out
3:54
five
3:54
of
3:54
your
3:54
own
3:55
projects.
3:55
You
3:56
might
3:56
have
3:56
done
3:56
fine
3:56
with
3:56
it,
3:57
but
3:58
it
3:58
would
3:58
have
3:58
been
3:58
better
3:59
having
3:59
the
4:00
right
4:00
designer
4:00
there
4:01
because
4:01
it
4:02
takes
4:02
years,
4:03
usually
4:04
20,
4:04
30
4:05
kitchens,
4:05
before
4:06
somebody
4:06
really
4:07
starts
4:07
to
4:07
get
4:07
good.
4:08
And
4:08
they've
4:09
learned
4:10
dozens
4:11
of
4:11
bathrooms
4:11
before
4:11
they
4:12
really
4:12
get.
4:12
And
4:13
that's
4:13
after
4:13
a
4:13
four
4:14
year
4:14
education.
4:15
So
4:16
really
4:16
this
4:16
is
4:16
the
4:17
stuff
4:17
that
4:17
I
4:17
really
4:17
want
4:18
you
4:18
to
4:18
think
4:18
about
4:18
when
4:19
you're
4:19
hiring
4:19
and
4:20
just
4:20
trying
4:20
to
4:21
find
4:21
that
4:21
right
4:21
designer
4:22
to
4:22
work
4:22
with.
4:23
So
4:24
my
4:24
first
4:24
one
4:25
here,
4:26
always
4:26
use,
4:27
always
4:28
use
4:28
a
4:29
kitchen
4:29
about
4:29
designer
4:30
for
4:30
projects.
4:31
And
4:31
that
4:31
experience
4:32
is
4:32
always
4:32
helpful.
4:34
Now
4:34
if
4:34
you
4:34
have
4:35
somebody
4:35
that
4:35
is
4:36
new
4:36
that
4:36
you're
4:36
working
4:36
with,
4:37
make
4:37
sure
4:38
that
4:38
they're
4:38
bouncing
4:39
that
4:39
off
4:39
another
4:39
experienced
4:40
designer
4:41
that's
4:41
helping
4:41
them
4:41
to
4:41
make
4:42
sure
4:42
that
4:42
everything
4:42
is
4:43
met.
4:44
Because
4:44
these
4:44
next
4:45
10
4:45
items
4:45
on
4:45
this
4:46
list
4:46
are
4:46
something
4:46
that
4:47
should
4:47
be
4:47
very
4:47
important
4:48
to
4:48
you
4:49
to
4:49
make
4:49
sure
4:49
your
4:49
project
4:50
goes
4:50
correctly.
4:51
First
4:52
off,
4:53
new
4:53
designers
4:53
rarely
4:54
understand
4:55
how
4:55
to
4:55
install
4:56
cabinetry.
4:57
And
4:57
to
4:58
be
4:58
a
4:58
good
4:58
kitchen
4:59
and
4:59
bath
4:59
designer,
5:00
you
5:00
should
5:00
have
5:00
that
5:00
installation
5:01
knowledge
5:03
where
5:03
you
5:03
really
5:03
could
5:04
almost
5:04
go
5:04
out
5:04
and
5:05
install
5:05
it
5:05
yourself.
5:06
The
5:07
problem
5:07
is
5:08
there
5:09
are
5:09
so
5:09
many
5:09
intricacies
5:11
of
5:11
how
5:11
things
5:12
get
5:12
installed
5:13
because
5:15
you're
5:15
not
5:15
just
5:15
slapping
5:16
cabinetry
5:16
on
5:16
the
5:17
wall.
5:17
There's
5:17
scribe
5:17
fillers,
5:18
there's
5:18
all
5:18
these
5:18
pieces,
5:20
moldings,
5:21
how
5:21
they
5:21
go
5:21
in
5:22
together,
5:22
what
5:22
goes
5:22
in
5:23
first,
5:23
what
5:23
goes
5:23
in
5:24
last,
5:25
and
5:25
understanding
5:26
that.
5:26
And
5:26
there's
5:27
different
5:27
ways
5:27
of
5:27
installing.
5:28
I
5:28
see
5:28
people.
5:29
Probably
5:30
the
5:30
most
5:30
successful
5:31
way
5:31
I
5:31
see
5:31
it
5:31
is
5:32
you'll
5:32
see
5:33
people
5:33
come
5:33
in,
5:34
install
5:34
the
5:35
uppers,
5:35
first,
5:36
then
5:36
put
5:37
the
5:37
base
5:37
cabinets
5:37
in.
5:38
Now
5:39
I'll
5:39
see
5:39
them
5:39
go
5:39
backwards
5:40
sometimes
5:40
if
5:40
they're
5:41
on
5:41
a
5:41
tight
5:41
schedule
5:41
and
5:41
they're
5:42
trying
5:42
to
5:42
get
5:42
that
5:42
countertop
5:43
template
5:43
and
5:43
they
5:43
get
5:44
another
5:44
day
5:44
or
5:44
so
5:45
of
5:45
the
5:45
template.
5:46
And
5:47
there's
5:47
different
5:47
levels
5:48
of
5:48
installers
5:48
out
5:48
there
5:49
too.
5:49
And
5:50
that's
5:50
why
5:50
I
5:50
want
5:50
that
5:52
kitchen
5:52
and
5:52
bath
5:52
professional
5:53
that
5:53
is
5:53
designing
5:54
your
5:54
cabinetry,
5:55
whether
5:55
it's
5:55
in
5:56
a
5:56
bathroom
5:56
or
5:56
a
5:56
kitchen,
5:57
to
5:58
really
5:58
have
5:58
a
5:58
good
5:58
grasp
5:59
on
5:59
this.
5:59
Because
6:00
knowing
6:01
how,
6:02
especially
6:02
today
6:03
with
6:03
appliances
6:03
where
6:04
they
6:04
can
6:04
be
6:05
inset
6:06
so
6:06
the
6:07
doors
6:07
and
6:07
stuff
6:07
are
6:08
flush
6:08
with
6:08
the
6:08
cabinetry
6:09
panels,
6:10
things
6:10
like
6:10
that,
6:10
there's
6:11
so
6:11
many
6:11
gotchas
6:12
in
6:12
a
6:13
typical
6:13
luxury
6:14
kitchen,
6:14
for
6:14
instance,
6:15
there's
6:15
probably
6:16
200
6:16
gotchas
6:18
in
6:18
there
6:19
that
6:19
if
6:19
they
6:19
miss
6:19
one
6:20
of
6:20
those
6:20
things,
6:20
they're
6:20
ordering
6:21
parts.
6:22
It
6:22
just
6:22
happens.
6:24
And
6:24
there's
6:24
so
6:24
many
6:25
areas
6:25
that
6:25
we're
6:26
going
6:26
to
6:26
talk
6:26
about
6:26
now
6:27
that
6:27
can
6:27
really
6:28
be
6:28
problematic
6:29
that
6:30
those
6:30
designers
6:31
should
6:31
be
6:31
watching
6:31
for.
6:32
So
6:33
the
6:33
next
6:33
one
6:33
here
6:34
is
6:35
understanding
6:35
how
6:35
appliances
6:36
and
6:36
cabinetry
6:37
work
6:37
together.
6:38
We
6:38
just
6:38
talked
6:38
a
6:38
little
6:39
bit
6:39
about
6:39
that,
6:40
but
6:40
really
6:40
understanding
6:42
appliances.
6:43
Great
6:43
example.
6:44
You'll
6:44
see
6:45
in
6:45
a
6:45
small
6:45
kitchen
6:45
where
6:46
you've
6:46
got
6:46
a
6:46
range
6:47
maybe
6:47
at
6:47
the
6:47
bottom
6:48
of
6:48
a
6:48
U,
6:49
but
6:49
that
6:49
designer
6:50
didn't
6:50
take
6:50
into
6:51
account
6:51
the
6:51
drawers
6:51
on
6:52
the
6:52
sides
6:52
there.
6:52
And
6:52
they
6:52
hit
6:53
the
6:53
handle
6:54
for
6:54
the
6:54
oven
6:54
door
6:55
or
6:55
the
6:55
control
6:56
panel.
6:57
Not
6:57
using
6:57
enough
6:58
fillers,
6:58
not
6:58
getting
6:59
things
6:59
out
6:59
there,
7:00
not
7:01
understanding
7:01
that
7:02
maybe
7:02
the
7:02
back
7:02
of
7:03
the
7:03
knob
7:04
needs
7:04
to
7:04
be
7:04
slightly
7:05
inset
7:05
into
7:06
the
7:06
cabinetry
7:06
door.
7:07
So
7:07
if
7:07
somebody
7:07
slides
7:07
it
7:08
across
7:08
there
7:08
when
7:08
they
7:09
close
7:09
that
7:09
lazy
7:10
Susan,
7:10
that's
7:10
maybe
7:11
on
7:11
either
7:11
side
7:11
of
7:11
the
7:11
range
7:13
that
7:13
the
7:13
head
7:13
of
7:13
that
7:13
Phillips
7:14
screw
7:14
doesn't
7:14
scratch
7:15
the
7:15
face
7:16
or
7:16
break
7:16
the
7:17
glass
7:17
in
7:17
the
7:17
oven.
7:18
There
7:18
are
7:19
so
7:19
many
7:19
little
7:19
details
7:20
here
7:21
that
7:21
the
7:22
designer
7:23
should
7:23
be
7:23
working
7:23
with
7:24
the
7:24
installer
7:24
to
7:25
make
7:25
sure
7:25
these
7:25
things
7:26
don't
7:26
happen.
7:27
So
7:27
we
7:27
don't
7:28
have
7:28
those
7:29
collision
7:29
points.
7:30
And
7:30
it's
7:31
so
7:31
common.
7:32
I'm
7:32
one
7:32
of
7:32
the
7:33
moderators
7:33
over
7:33
there
7:33
and
7:33
one
7:34
of
7:34
the
7:34
group
7:34
experts
7:34
on
7:35
Facebook
7:35
in
7:35
the
7:36
ask
7:36
a
7:36
cabinet
7:36
maker
7:37
area.
7:38
That's
7:38
a
7:38
whole
7:38
group
7:39
over
7:39
there.
7:39
I
7:39
jump
7:40
on
7:40
there
7:40
all
7:40
the
7:40
time.
7:41
And
7:41
these
7:41
are
7:42
one
7:42
of
7:42
the
7:42
common
7:42
things
7:42
that
7:43
happen
7:44
where
7:44
spatially
7:45
we
7:45
run
7:45
into
7:45
issues
7:46
of
7:46
how
7:46
appliances
7:48
work
7:48
together.
7:49
Now,
7:50
my
7:50
biggest
7:50
pet
7:50
peeve
7:51
is
7:52
when
7:52
you
7:52
see
7:52
somebody
7:53
do
7:53
a
7:53
double
7:53
oven
7:54
and
7:54
then
7:55
a
7:55
microwave
7:55
over
7:56
the
7:56
top
7:56
of
7:56
it.
7:57
In
7:57
my
7:57
situation,
7:58
unless
7:58
you're
7:58
in
7:58
a
7:58
condo
7:59
or
7:59
you've
7:59
got
8:00
an
8:00
issue
8:00
like
8:00
that
8:00
super
8:01
tiny,
8:02
I
8:02
don't
8:02
want
8:02
that
8:02
microwave
8:03
higher
8:05
than
8:05
straight
8:05
line
8:06
of
8:06
the
8:06
main
8:06
person
8:06
that's
8:07
cooking
8:07
in
8:07
that
8:07
kitchen
8:08
or
8:08
a
8:09
secondary
8:09
person
8:09
cooking
8:10
in
8:10
that
8:10
kitchen.
8:11
That's
8:11
why
8:11
I
8:12
hate
8:12
over
8:12
the
8:12
range
8:13
microwaves,
8:14
because
8:14
if
8:14
you
8:15
put
8:15
a
8:15
bowl
8:15
of
8:15
soup
8:15
in
8:16
a
8:16
microwave
8:16
to
8:16
heat
8:16
it
8:16
up
8:17
or
8:17
a
8:17
liquid,
8:18
you're
8:18
defrosting
8:19
something.
8:20
If
8:20
your
8:21
arms
8:21
stretched
8:22
out,
8:23
like
8:23
if
8:23
you
8:23
hold
8:23
your
8:24
arms
8:24
straight
8:24
out,
8:25
anything
8:25
above
8:26
level
8:27
on
8:27
your
8:27
forearms
8:28
is
8:28
dangerous
8:29
because
8:29
you
8:30
can't
8:30
see
8:30
the
8:30
liquid
8:30
that
8:30
you're
8:31
pulling
8:31
out
8:31
of
8:31
there
8:31
and
8:32
you
8:32
can
8:32
easily
8:33
dump
8:33
it
8:33
all
8:33
over
8:33
yourself
8:34
and
8:35
you're
8:35
doing
8:35
it
8:35
over
8:35
a
8:36
cooking
8:36
surface
8:36
as
8:36
well.
8:37
That
8:37
could
8:37
be
8:37
hot,
8:38
there
8:38
could
8:38
be
8:38
flame,
8:39
it
8:39
could
8:40
be
8:40
bad.
8:41
So
8:41
that
8:41
is
8:41
one
8:41
of
8:42
my
8:42
pet
8:42
peeves
8:43
Sometimes
8:43
it's
8:43
your
8:44
only
8:44
option.
8:45
However,
8:45
if
8:45
you
8:46
can
8:46
put
8:46
a
8:46
microwave
8:47
someplace
8:47
in
8:47
there,
8:48
like
8:48
down
8:48
below,
8:49
those
8:49
are
8:49
always
8:50
more
8:50
desirable
8:51
to
8:51
me
8:51
than
8:51
up
8:51
high
8:52
because
8:52
they're
8:53
just
8:53
a
8:53
horrible
8:54
waste
8:54
of
8:55
space.
8:55
Up
8:55
above,
8:56
I'd
8:56
much
8:57
rather
8:57
see
8:57
a
8:57
hood,
8:58
another
8:58
cabinet
8:58
up
8:58
there,
8:59
and
8:59
the
8:59
hoods
9:00
work
9:00
way
9:00
better
9:00
on
9:01
ventilation
9:01
than
9:01
the
9:01
microwaves
9:02
do.
9:03
The
9:03
microwaves
9:03
just
9:04
don't
9:04
work
9:04
correctly.
9:05
So
9:06
that's
9:06
a
9:06
big
9:06
one.
9:07
The
9:07
next
9:08
one.
9:08
Number
9:08
three,
9:09
moldings
9:09
need
9:09
to
9:10
work
9:10
together
9:10
with
9:11
the
9:11
rest
9:11
of
9:11
the
9:11
build.
9:12
If
9:12
you
9:12
got
9:13
moldings
9:13
in
9:13
a
9:13
room
9:14
and
9:14
you've
9:14
got
9:14
cabinetry
9:15
going
9:15
around
9:15
it,
9:16
how
9:17
are
9:17
those
9:17
going
9:17
to
9:17
play
9:17
together?
9:18
How
9:18
are
9:19
you
9:19
going
9:19
to
9:19
transition
9:19
that
9:20
if
9:20
it's
9:20
going
9:20
to
9:20
the
9:20
ceiling
9:21
into
9:21
the
9:21
rest
9:21
of
9:22
the
9:22
molding
9:22
in
9:22
the
9:22
room?
9:23
Scribe
9:24
moldings
9:25
under
9:25
cabinet
9:26
lighting.
9:27
All
9:27
those
9:27
things.
9:28
Those
9:28
are
9:28
all
9:29
things
9:29
that
9:29
are
9:29
super
9:30
important
9:31
when
9:31
you're
9:31
trying
9:31
to
9:31
make
9:31
it
9:32
all
9:32
work
9:32
together.
9:33
And
9:33
that's
9:34
where.
9:34
That's
9:35
why
9:35
I
9:35
go
9:35
back
9:35
to
9:36
the
9:36
first
9:36
ones
9:37
needing
9:38
to
9:38
know
9:38
how
9:38
to
9:38
install
9:39
cabinetry.
9:40
That
9:40
molding
9:40
and
9:40
how
9:40
they're
9:41
cut,
9:41
how
9:41
they
9:41
stack
9:42
up
9:42
is
9:43
such
9:43
a
9:43
key
9:43
right
9:44
there.
9:45
And
9:45
for
9:45
them,
9:46
when
9:46
they
9:46
measure
9:46
the
9:46
kitchen
9:47
out
9:47
to
9:47
make
9:47
sure
9:47
that
9:48
they
9:48
understand
9:48
that,
9:49
wow,
9:50
cabinetry
9:50
is
9:50
going
9:51
to
9:51
be
9:51
installed
9:51
plumb
9:52
level,
9:53
the
9:53
room
9:54
dies
9:54
off
9:54
an
9:54
inch
9:54
and
9:54
a
9:54
half.
9:55
So
9:55
where
9:55
are
9:55
we
9:55
going
9:55
to
9:56
make
9:56
that
9:56
up?
9:57
Where
9:57
are
9:57
we
9:57
going
9:57
to
9:57
make
9:57
that
9:58
up?
9:58

10:00
We're
10:00
going
10:00
to
10:00
fix
10:00
the
10:00
room.
10:01
We're
10:01
going
10:01
to
10:01
live
10:01
with
10:02
it.
10:02
How
10:03
are
10:03
we
10:03
going
10:03
to
10:03
hide
10:03
that
10:04
with
10:04
moldings
10:04
to
10:04
make
10:05
it
10:05
look
10:05
cool
10:06
so
10:06
you
10:06
can't
10:06
see
10:07
that
10:07
room
10:08
is
10:08
an
10:09

10:13
How
10:13
are
10:13
you
10:13
going
10:13
to
10:13
make
10:13
up
10:13
that?
10:14
With
10:14
the
10:14
floor
10:14
going
10:14
one
10:15
direction
10:15
and
10:15
the
10:15
ceiling
10:16
going
10:16
other?
10:17
That
10:17
can
10:17
be
10:18
a
10:18
tough
10:18
battle.
10:19
All
10:19
right,
10:19
we

to

build
13:10

do

13:11
You're
13:12
looking

for
13:12
something
13:12
that
13:13
cooks,
13:13
that
13:14
has
13:14
technology
13:14
that
13:15
works
13:15
well.
13:15
Check

13:17
so
13:18
we've
13:18
been
13:18
diving
13:18
into
13:18
this
13:19
discussion
13:19
of
13:19
top
13:19
10
13:19
mistakes
13:20
kitchen
13:20
and
13:20
bath
13:20
designers
13:21
make
13:21
when
13:22
they're
13:22
designing
13:22
your
13:23
projects.
13:24
As
13:24
well
13:24
as
13:24
if
13:24
we
13:24
can
13:25
get
13:25
through
13:25
this,
13:25
we
13:25
might
13:25
get
13:25
into
13:26
a
13:26
cabinetry
13:26
buyer's
13:26
guide
13:27
as
13:27
well.
13:27
Some
13:28
new
13:28
things
13:28
that
13:28
I
13:28
see
13:29
coming
13:29
up
13:29
across
13:29
the
13:29
country
13:30
that
13:30
just
13:30
blows
13:31
my
13:31
mind
13:31
that
13:31
companies
13:32
are
13:32
actually
13:32
trying
13:32
to
13:32
do
13:33
this.
13:33
So
13:34
hopefully
13:34
we
13:34
can
13:34
get
13:34
to
13:35
that.
13:35
But
13:36
we've
13:36
been
13:36
talking
13:36
about
13:36
those
13:37
mistakes
13:37
that
13:37
people
13:37
make.
13:39
Now
13:39
we're
13:40
just
13:40
talking
13:40
about
13:40
moldings,
13:41
how
13:41
they
13:41
need
13:42
to
13:42
work
13:42
together.
13:43
And
13:43
number
13:44
four
13:44
here
13:45
is
13:46
fillers,
13:47
corners
13:48
and
13:48
cabinet
13:49
ends.
13:49
Now
13:50
this
13:50
is
13:50
a
13:50
big
13:50
one.
13:52
Fillers.
13:52
When
13:52
your
13:53
cabinetry
13:53
runs
13:54
up,
13:54
whether
13:54
it's
13:54
in
13:54
the
13:54
bathroom
13:55
up
13:55
against
13:55
the
13:55
end
13:56
wall,
13:56
or
13:57
a
13:57
kitchen
13:58
up
13:58
against
13:58
a
13:59
tall
14:00
corner
14:00
wall
14:01
or
14:01
anything
14:02
like
14:02
that,
14:03
you
14:03
need
14:03
to
14:03
have
14:03
a
14:04
scribe
14:04
filler
14:05
there.
14:05
Now
14:05
there's
14:06
two
14:06
ways
14:06
to
14:06
do
14:06
this
14:06
really.
14:07
If
14:08
it's
14:08
a
14:08
custom
14:08
cabinet,
14:10
now
14:10
we'll
14:10
get
14:10
into
14:10
that
14:10
a
14:10
little
14:11
bit
14:11
later.
14:12
Sometimes
14:12
if
14:12
it's
14:12
a
14:13
custom
14:13
face
14:13
frame
14:13
or
14:14
inset,
14:14
they'll
14:15
make
14:15
an
14:15
extended
14:16
style
14:16
so
14:17
that
14:17
edge
14:17
of
14:17
the
14:17
cabinet
14:18
frame
14:18
goes
14:18
farther
14:19
out.
14:19
And
14:20
then
14:20
your
14:20
cabinetry
14:21
installer
14:22
can
14:22
scribe
14:23
that
14:23
to
14:23
the
14:23
wall.
14:24
Or
14:25
with
14:26
frameless
14:26
or
14:27
face
14:27
frame
14:28
style
14:28
cabinetry,
14:29
you
14:29
wouldn't
14:29
want
14:29
to
14:29
do
14:29
this.
14:29
With
14:29
inset,
14:30
you
14:30
can
14:30
do
14:30
a
14:30
filler.
14:32
It
14:32
is
14:32
usually
14:32
a
14:33
3
14:33
inch
14:33
piece
14:33
of
14:33
material
14:34
that
14:34
you
14:35
cut
14:35
down
14:35
inscribe
14:36
to
14:36
the
14:36
wall
14:37
so
14:37
you've
14:37
got
14:37
something
14:38
to
14:38
stand
14:38
off
14:39
the
14:39
wall
14:39
that
14:40
makes
14:40
up
14:40
that
14:40
gap.
14:41
Let
14:42
me
14:42
tell
14:42
you
14:42
why
14:42
these
14:42
are
14:43
so
14:43
important.
14:44
Even
14:44
on
14:45
a
14:45
high
14:45
end
14:45
run
14:46
of
14:46
cabinetry.
14:47
Plywood,
14:48
let's
14:49
say
14:49
it's
14:49
3/4
14:50
inch
14:50
maple
14:51
plywood.
14:52
Rarely
14:52
is
14:52
3/4
14:53
inch
14:53
maple
14:54
plywood
14:54
dot
14:54
3/4
14:55
of
14:55
an
14:55
inch,
14:56
it
14:56
can
14:56
be
14:57
a
14:57
16th
14:58
off.
14:59
If
14:59
you've
15:00
got
15:01
12
15:01
cabinets,
15:02
let's
15:02
say
15:02
they're
15:02
a
15:02
frameless
15:03
style
15:03
cabinetry.
15:04
This
15:04
is
15:05
really
15:05
key
15:05
right
15:05
here.
15:06
You
15:07
can
15:07
actually
15:07
lose
15:08
or
15:09
gain
15:10
half
15:10
an
15:10
inch
15:11
Depending
15:12
on
15:13
how
15:13
far
15:13
that
15:13
cabinetry
15:14
plywood
15:15
is
15:15
out
15:15
of
15:15
spec.
15:16
Because
15:17
the
15:17
veneers,
15:17
when
15:17
they're
15:18
processed
15:18
together,
15:19
they
15:19
don't
15:20
run
15:20
that
15:20
through
15:20
a
15:20
planer
15:21
and
15:21
get
15:21
it
15:21
so
15:21
it's
15:22
perfect.
15:22
No,
15:24
they
15:24
get
15:24
it
15:24
close
15:24
enough.
15:25
There's
15:26
an
15:26
average
15:26
problem
15:27
is
15:27
that
15:27
can
15:27
add
15:28
and
15:28
subtract
15:28
on
15:28
that
15:28
run.
15:30
I
15:30
remember
15:30
doing
15:30
my
15:30
parents
15:31
kitchen,
15:31
geez,
15:32
20
15:32
plus
15:32
years
15:32
ago,
15:33
probably
15:34
more
15:34
than
15:34
that,
15:34
25
15:35
plus
15:35
years
15:36
ago.
15:36
And
15:37
when
15:37
we
15:37
did
15:37
it,
15:38
I
15:38
had
15:39
like
15:39
almost
15:39
three
15:40
quarters
15:40
of
15:40
an
15:40
inch
15:41
of
15:41
gain
15:41
on
15:41
this
15:41
long
15:42
wall.
15:43
And
15:43
it
15:43
was
15:43
all
15:43
because
15:43
of
15:44
the
15:44
cabinet
15:44
boxes
15:45
being
15:46
frameless
15:46
and
15:47
having
15:48
some
15:48
plywood
15:49
that
15:49
was
15:49
out
15:49
of
15:49
spec.
15:50
It
15:50
was
15:50
a
15:51
little
15:51
thicker
15:51
than
15:51
what
15:52
we
15:52
thought.
15:53
So
15:53
it
15:53
made
15:53
everything
15:54
a
15:54
little
15:54
bit
15:54
bigger
15:55
because
15:56
you'll
15:56
see
15:56
them.
15:57
Most
15:57
cabinet
15:58
shops
15:58
don't
15:58
cut
15:59
these
15:59
pieces.
16:00
They
16:00
know
16:00
that
16:00
the
16:01
stretchers
16:01
and
16:01
the
16:01
cabinet
16:02
backs
16:02
for
16:03
a
16:03
18
16:04
inch
16:04
cabinetry
16:04
is
16:05
this
16:05
wide.
16:05
Every
16:05
time
16:06
they're
16:07
not
16:07
sitting
16:07
there
16:08
making
16:08
that
16:08
stuff
16:09
and
16:09
doing
16:09
it
16:09
on
16:10
plan,
16:11
they
16:11
just
16:11
don't.
16:12
It's
16:12
not
16:12
how
16:12
it
16:13
works.
16:14
So
16:14
you
16:14
can
16:14
gain
16:15
some
16:15
space
16:15
there
16:15
or
16:15
lose
16:16
some
16:16
space.
16:17
So
16:17
those
16:17
fillers
16:18
also
16:18
make
16:18
up
16:19
for
16:19
that.
16:20
Anytime
16:20
that
16:21
you're
16:21
having
16:21
to
16:21
level
16:21
cabinetry,
16:23
you're
16:23
changing
16:23
that
16:23
dynamic
16:24
and
16:24
that's
16:24
where
16:25
those
16:25
are
16:25
super
16:25
important.
16:26
So
16:26
when
16:26
you
16:26
see
16:27
a
16:27
cabinet
16:28
design
16:28
that
16:29
someone's
16:29
laid
16:29
it
16:29
out
16:29
and
16:30
that
16:30
shows
16:30
like
16:30
an
16:30
inch
16:30
and
16:30
a
16:30
half
16:31
filler
16:31
there,
16:32
that's
16:32
usually
16:33
there
16:33
to
16:33
make
16:33
up
16:33
that
16:34
space.
16:34
And
16:34
it's
16:35
super
16:35
important.
16:35
Now
16:35
how
16:36
you
16:36
can
16:36
hide
16:36
that
16:36
is
16:36
you
16:37
do
16:37
an
16:37
overlay
16:37
filler
16:38
which
16:38
is
16:38
a
16:38
cabinet
16:38
door
16:39
type
16:39
piece
16:40
that
16:40
goes
16:40
on
16:40
top.
16:41
That's
16:42
a
16:42
secondary
16:42
piece.
16:42
So
16:43
it
16:43
flushes
16:43
out.
16:43
That's
16:44
the
16:44
right
16:44
way
16:44
to
16:45
do
16:45
that.
16:46
So
16:46
the
16:46
edge
16:46
of
16:46
the
16:46
door
16:47
shows
16:47
up
16:47
that
16:47
way.
16:48
That's
16:48
something
16:49
that's
16:49
just
16:49
little
16:49
details
16:50
on
16:50
making
16:50
it
16:51
look
16:51
right.
16:51
Corners
16:51
are
16:51
the
16:52
same
16:52
way.
16:53
Whether
16:53
you're
16:53
doing
16:53
blind
16:54
corners,
16:55
lazy
16:55
Susans,
16:56
any
16:56
of
16:56
those
16:57
things.
16:57
Don't
16:57
do
16:57
too
16:57
many
16:58
of
16:58
those
16:58
angle
16:58
45
16:59
corners
16:59
anymore.
17:00
That
17:00
was
17:00
a
17:00
big
17:00
thing
17:00
in
17:00
the
17:00
90s.
17:02
But
17:02
we
17:02
don't
17:02
do
17:02
those
17:02
as
17:03
much
17:03
anymore
17:03
because
17:04
it
17:04
really
17:04
limits
17:04
how
17:05
you
17:05
get
17:05
into
17:05
that
17:05
corner
17:06
cabinet
17:06
above
17:06
it.
17:07
And
17:07
then
17:07
cabinet
17:08
ends.
17:08
How
17:08
do
17:08
you
17:09
want
17:09
to
17:09
finish
17:09
the
17:09
end
17:09
of
17:10
a
17:10
run
17:10
of
17:10
a
17:10
cabinet?
17:10
If
17:10
you've
17:11
got
17:11
a
17:11
U
17:11
shaped
17:11
kitchen
17:12
and
17:13
you're
17:13
standing
17:13
looking
17:13
at
17:13
the
17:14
back
17:14
wall,
17:14
maybe
17:14
your
17:14
range
17:15
is
17:15
centered
17:15
back
17:15
there.
17:17
How
17:17
are
17:17
those
17:17
ends
17:18
finished?
17:18
Is
17:19
it
17:19
just
17:19
a
17:19
flat
17:19
panel?
17:20
Looks
17:21
like
17:21
just
17:21
a
17:21
flat
17:21
plywood
17:22
painted
17:22
or
17:22
stained
17:23
panel.
17:23
Or
17:24
do
17:24
you
17:24
have
17:24
a
17:24
door
17:24
style
17:25
over
17:25
there?
17:25
Or
17:25
is
17:25
it
17:26
a
17:26
built
17:26
in
17:26
furniture
17:27
Looking
17:27
end
17:28
where
17:28
it's
17:28
a
17:28
raised
17:29
panel
17:29
that
17:29
matches
17:30
the
17:30
door
17:30
front,
17:31
or
17:31
is
17:31
it
17:32
an
17:32
applied
17:32
door?
17:32
There's
17:33
a
17:33
lot
17:33
of
17:33
things
17:33
here
17:33
that
17:34
can
17:34
go
17:34
wrong,
17:35
and
17:35
you
17:35
want
17:35
to
17:35
make
17:35
sure
17:36
you're
17:36
consistent
17:36
throughout
17:37
the
17:37
project.
17:37
So
17:37
if
17:37
you're
17:38
doing
17:38
raised
17:38
panels
17:38
on
17:39
them,
17:39
you
17:39
want
17:39
the
17:39
uppers
17:40
and
17:40
lowers
17:40
and
17:40
the
17:40
talls
17:40
to
17:41
have
17:41
something
17:41
similar.
17:42
And
17:42
that's
17:42
where
17:42
that
17:43
gets
17:43
interesting.
17:44
So
17:44
that's
17:45
where
17:45
you
17:45
want
17:45
to
17:45
make
17:45
sure
17:45
those
17:46
things
17:46
get
17:46
dialed
17:46
in
17:47
and
17:47
be
17:47
consistent
17:48
throughout
17:49
that.
17:49
But
17:50
that's
17:50
where
17:50
big
17:50
mistakes
17:51
happen,
17:51
and
17:51
it
17:51
can
17:51
look
17:52
funky.
17:53
Now,
17:53
the
17:53
next
17:53
one
17:54
here
17:54
is
17:54
an
17:54
important
17:54
one.
17:55
It's
17:55
a
17:55
mistake
17:55
that
17:56
I
17:56
think
17:57
homeowners
17:57
make
17:57
all
17:58
the
17:58
time,
17:59
and
17:59
older
17:59
designers
18:00
can
18:00
make
18:00
this
18:01
as
18:01
well.
18:02
For
18:02
25
18:03
years,
18:03
I
18:03
have
18:04
not
18:04
been
18:04
a
18:04
big.
18:05
I've
18:05
just
18:06
not
18:06
been
18:06
a
18:06
big
18:06
fan
18:07
of
18:07
the
18:07
kitchen
18:07
triangle.
18:08
What
18:08
is
18:08
a
18:09
kitchen
18:09
triangle?
18:10
That
18:10
is
18:10
something
18:11
that
18:11
the
18:11
National
18:11
Kitchen
18:12
and
18:12
Bath
18:12
association,
18:13
when
18:13
I
18:13
was
18:13
taking
18:14
my
18:14
test
18:15
in
18:15
1990s
18:16
to
18:17
be
18:17
a
18:17
certified
18:17
kitchen
18:18
designer,
18:18
that
18:18
they
18:18
were
18:19
showing
18:19
is
18:19
the
18:19
way
18:19
to
18:20
do
18:20
kitchen
18:21
design.
18:21
And
18:21
the
18:22
triangle
18:22
was
18:23
your
18:23
cooking
18:23
surface,
18:24
like
18:24
a
18:24
range
18:25
top
18:25
or
18:25
a
18:25
cooktop
18:26
to
18:27
the
18:27
refrigerator
18:28
to
18:28
the
18:28
sink.
18:29
And
18:29
you
18:29
wanted
18:30
to
18:30
have
18:30
things
18:30
that
18:31
were,
18:31
you
18:32
know,
18:32
not
18:32
too
18:32
big,
18:32
not
18:33
too
18:33
small.
18:34
And
18:34
if
18:34
you
18:35
had
18:35
a
18:35
second
18:35
sink,
18:36
you
18:36
could
18:36
have
18:37
two
18:37
triangles.
18:38
Design
18:38
has
18:39
evolved
18:40
and
18:40
how
18:40
you
18:41
do
18:41
things.
18:42
So
18:42
really
18:42
what
18:42
this
18:43
has
18:43
done
18:44
is
18:44
I've
18:45
stepped
18:45
away
18:45
from
18:46
the
18:46
kitchen
18:46
triangle
18:46
years
18:47
ago.
18:48
So
18:48
has
18:48
the
18:48
NKBA
18:49
as
18:49
well,
18:49
which
18:49
I
18:50
gotta
18:50
give
18:50
it
18:50
to
18:50
them.
18:51
But
18:51
now
18:52
you
18:52
have
18:52
work
18:52
zones.
18:54
So
18:54
if
18:54
I'm
18:54
standing
18:55
at
18:55
the
18:55
kitchen
18:56
sink
18:56
and
18:57
I
18:57
have
18:58
my
18:58
dishwasher
18:59
on
18:59
the
18:59
right
18:59
side,
19:00
my
19:01
prep
19:01
zone
19:01
is
19:02
gonna
19:02
be
19:02
on
19:02
the
19:02
left
19:03
side.
19:03
So
19:03
I'll
19:03
wanna
19:03
put
19:03
a
19:04
trash
19:04
can
19:04
pull
19:04
out
19:05
there
19:05
if
19:05
I
19:05
can.
19:06
Now,
19:06
if
19:07
I
19:07
have
19:07
the
19:08
dishwasher
19:08
on
19:08
the
19:08
right
19:09
side
19:09
and
19:09
my
19:10
cooking
19:10
surface
19:11
is
19:12
farther
19:13
over
19:13
on
19:14
the
19:14
right
19:14
side,
19:14
on
19:14
the
19:14
same
19:15
side,
19:15
I
19:15
want
19:15
to
19:15
move
19:16
the
19:16
dishwasher
19:16
over
19:17
to
19:17
the
19:17
other
19:17
side,
19:18
so
19:18
that's
19:18
cleanup.
19:19
So
19:20
that
19:20
way,
19:20
the
19:20
area
19:21
between
19:22
my
19:22
sink
19:23
and
19:24
the
19:24
cooking
19:25
surface,
19:25
if
19:25
it's
19:26
on
19:26
a
19:26
same
19:27
run
19:27
of
19:27
that
19:27
or
19:27
it's
19:28
around
19:28
the
19:28
corner,
19:29
that's
19:29
your
19:29
prep
19:29
area.
19:30
And
19:30
that's
19:31
a
19:31
really
19:31
big
19:31
deal,
19:32
because
19:32
you
19:32
don't
19:32
want
19:32
your
19:33
cleanup
19:33
and
19:33
your
19:33
prep
19:33
area
19:34
sharing
19:34
that
19:35
space.
19:36
And
19:36
I
19:36
know
19:36
a
19:36
lot
19:36
of
19:36
people
19:37
go,
19:37
oh,
19:37
my
19:37
gosh,
19:37
I
19:37
always
19:38
have
19:38
to
19:38
have
19:38
my
19:38
dishwasher
19:39
on
19:39
the
19:39
right
19:39
or
19:39
I
19:39
have
19:39
to
19:40
have
19:40
my
19:40
dishwasher
19:40
on
19:40
the
19:41
left.
19:42
These
19:42
are
19:42
habits
19:42
you
19:43
will
19:43
get
19:43
past
19:43
so
19:44
quickly.
19:45
You're
19:45
better
19:45
off
19:46
to
19:46
cook
19:48
efficiently
19:49
every
19:49
day
19:49
than
19:50
to
19:50
struggle
19:50
just
19:50
because
19:51
that's
19:51
where
19:51
you're
19:52
used
19:52
to.
19:53
Now,
19:53
if
19:53
you've
19:53
got
19:53
the
19:54
sink
19:54
and
19:55
the
19:55
cooktop
19:56
across
19:56
from
19:56
each
19:56
other,
19:57
that
19:57
can
19:57
be
19:57
different.
19:57
If
19:58
you've
19:58
got
19:58
a
19:58
sink
19:58
in
19:58
the
19:58
island
19:59
or
19:59
a
19:59
cooktop
19:59
in
20:00
the
20:00
island,
20:01
those
20:01
are
20:01
different
20:01
things.
20:02
I'm
20:03
not
20:03
a
20:03
huge
20:03
fan
20:04
of
20:04
putting
20:04
the
20:04
cooktop
20:05
in
20:05
the
20:05
island
20:06
for
20:06
many
20:07
reasons,
20:07
because
20:07
ventilation
20:08
is
20:08
a
20:08
big
20:09
one.
20:09
Because
20:10
downdraft
20:10
ventilation
20:12
doesn't
20:12
work
20:12
well.
20:13
You're
20:13
fighting
20:13
Mother
20:14
Nature.
20:15
So
20:15
then
20:15
you
20:15
have
20:15
either
20:15
a
20:16
big
20:16
hood
20:16
overhead
20:17
or
20:17
you're
20:18
putting
20:18
in
20:18
one
20:18
of
20:18
those
20:18
flush
20:19
ones
20:19
in
20:19
the
20:19
ceiling
20:19
that
20:20
work
20:20
okay.
20:21
But
20:21
you
20:21
have
20:21
to
20:22
move
20:22
so
20:22
much
20:23
air.
20:24
I
20:24
would
20:24
much
20:24
rather
20:25
put
20:25
it
20:25
on
20:25
a
20:25
wall
20:25
or
20:26
an
20:26
exterior
20:26
wall
20:26
that
20:27
you
20:27
can
20:27
vent
20:27
it
20:27
efficiently
20:28
outside,
20:29
because
20:30
that
20:30
vent
20:30
always
20:31
has
20:31
to
20:31
go
20:31
outside.
20:32
Even
20:32
if
20:33
building
20:33
code
20:33
in
20:33
your
20:34
area
20:34
is
20:35
way
20:35
behind,
20:35
decades
20:36
behind
20:36
clean
20:37
air,
20:38
you
20:38
should
20:38
always
20:38
be
20:38
having
20:39
that
20:39
vent
20:40
completely
20:40
outside
20:41
the
20:41
building,
20:42
no
20:42
matter
20:42
what.
20:43
Now
20:43
when
20:43
we
20:43
come
20:44
back
20:44
here,
20:44
we're
20:44
going
20:44
to
20:44
be
20:45
talking
20:45
about
20:45
the
20:45
next
20:45
one
20:46
here
20:47
and
20:47
it's
20:47
a
20:47
big
20:47
one.
20:48
It's
20:48
one
20:48
of
20:48
the
20:48
biggest
20:49
mistakes
20:49
I
20:49
see
20:49
get
20:49
made
20:50
in
20:50
kitchen
20:51
and
20:51
bath
20:51
design.
20:51
We'll
20:51
do
20:52
that
20:52
just
20:52
as
20:52
soon
20:52
as
20:52
around
20:53
the
20:53
House
20:53
returns.
20:53
Don't
20:54
go
20:54
anywhere.
20:55

21:00
around
21:00
the
21:01

21:01
We'll
21:01
be
21:01
right
21:02
back
21:02
after
21:02
these
21:02
important
21:03

22:12

22:55
you

22:59
well
23:00
as
23:00
we're
23:00
going
23:00
to
23:01
be
23:01
doing
23:01
some
23:02
fun
23:03
swag
23:03
giveaways
23:04
here
23:04
soon.
23:04
If
23:04
you're
23:05
a
23:05
member,
23:06
I'll
23:06
make
23:06
sure
23:06
and
23:06
include
23:07
you
23:07
in
23:07
that
23:07
so
23:08
you'll
23:08
be
23:08
grandfathered
23:09
in.
23:09
So
23:10
it
23:10
won't
23:10
be
23:10
for
23:10
new
23:10
members
23:11
only.
23:11
It'll
23:11
be
23:11
for
23:11
people
23:12
like
23:12
you
23:12
that
23:13
want
23:13
to
23:13
hear
23:13
the
23:13
show
23:13
early
23:14
and
23:14
have
23:14
easy
23:14
access
23:15
to
23:15
me.
23:16
So
23:16
let's
23:16
talk
23:16
about
23:17
this.
23:17
We've
23:17
been
23:18
talking
23:18
about
23:18
the
23:18
top
23:18
10
23:19
mistakes
23:19
kitchen
23:19
and
23:19
bath
23:20
designers
23:20
make
23:20
in
23:20
designing
23:21
projects.
23:22
Now,
23:23
number
23:23
six
23:23
here
23:23
is
23:24
an
23:24
important
23:24
one.
23:25
Lack
23:25
of
23:25
spatial
23:26
awareness
23:27
and
23:27
walkways.
23:28
So
23:29
many
23:29
times
23:29
people
23:30
want
23:30
to
23:30
jam
23:30
that
23:31
island
23:31
in
23:31
there
23:31
and
23:31
they
23:32
want
23:32
to
23:32
make
23:32
as
23:32
big
23:32
as
23:33
possible,
23:34
and
23:35
they
23:35
don't
23:35
really
23:35
realize
23:36
how
23:36
important
23:37
that
23:37
walkway
23:38
space
23:38
is.
23:39
My
23:39
minimum,
23:40
when
23:40
you're
23:40
walking
23:41
around
23:41
an
23:41
island
23:42
is
23:42
42
23:43
inches
23:44
of
23:44
walkway
23:44
space.
23:45
Now
23:46
that
23:46
is
23:46
from
23:46
countertop
23:47
to
23:47
countertop.
23:47
What
23:48
happens,
23:48
though,
23:48
is
23:49
so
23:49
many
23:49
times
23:50
when
23:50
they
23:50
draw
23:50
it
23:50
out,
23:51
they
23:52
use
23:53
the
23:53
design
23:53
program.
23:55
Won't
23:55
do
23:55
it
23:55
from
23:56
countertop,
23:56
it'll
23:56
do
23:57
it
23:57
from
23:57
the
23:57
cabinet
23:57
face.
23:57
So
23:58
you
23:58
could
23:58
lose
23:58
an
23:59
inch
23:59
and
23:59
a
23:59
half
23:59
there
23:59
already.
24:00
Why
24:01
do
24:01
I
24:01
want
24:01
that
24:01
as
24:02
a
24:02
minimum?
24:03
Think
24:04
about
24:04
it.
24:04
If
24:04
you're
24:04
going
24:04
to
24:04
get
24:05
a
24:05
refrigerator
24:05
in
24:05
there,
24:06
and
24:06
you
24:06
know
24:06
how
24:06
refrigerators
24:07
roll,
24:07
it's
24:07
a
24:07
36
24:08
inch
24:08
wide
24:08
refrigerator.
24:10
Cabinet.
24:10
Depth's
24:10
a
24:11
little
24:11
bit
24:11
easier,
24:11
but
24:11
if
24:11
it's
24:12
a
24:12
deeper
24:12
one
24:13
with
24:13
a
24:13
little
24:14
extra
24:14
square
24:14
footage
24:15
of
24:15
inside
24:16
space,
24:17
how
24:17
are
24:17
you
24:18
gonna
24:18
get
24:18
that
24:18
kitchen
24:18
in
24:18
there?
24:19
Do
24:19
you
24:19
want
24:19
to
24:19
have
24:19
a
24:19
delivery
24:20
person
24:20
have
24:20
to
24:20
lift
24:21
it
24:21
up
24:21
over
24:21
their
24:21
head
24:22
to
24:22
carry
24:22
it
24:22
over
24:22
there?
24:23
How
24:23
are
24:23
you
24:23
gonna
24:23
get
24:24
that
24:24
refrigerator
24:24
in?
24:25
Plus,
24:26
if
24:26
you've
24:26
got
24:26
two
24:27
people
24:27
in
24:27
the
24:27
kitchen,
24:27
do
24:27
you
24:27
want
24:28
to
24:28
be
24:28
able
24:28
to
24:28
walk
24:28
past
24:28
themselves?
24:30
What
24:30
if
24:30
you've
24:30
got
24:30
a
24:30
range
24:31
door
24:31
that
24:31
opens?
24:32
What
24:33
if
24:33
you've
24:33
got
24:33
a
24:33
dishwasher?
24:34
Do
24:34
you
24:34
want
24:34
somebody
24:34
to
24:34
be
24:34
able
24:35
to
24:35
walk
24:35
around
24:35
it
24:35
or
24:35
have
24:36
to
24:36
stop
24:36
when
24:36
it's
24:36
there?
24:38
So
24:38
42
24:38
inches
24:39
is
24:39
my
24:39
minimum.
24:40
Now,
24:41
when
24:41
it
24:42
comes
24:42
to
24:42
having
24:42
seating
24:44
from
24:44
the
24:44
face
24:44
of
24:44
the
24:45
countertop
24:45
that
24:45
someone's
24:46
seating
24:46
up
24:46
against
24:46
to
24:47
something
24:47
behind
24:47
them,
24:48
I
24:49
really
24:49
want
24:49
66
24:50
inches
24:50
there
24:50
as
24:51
a
24:51
minimum
24:51
because
24:51
I
24:52
want
24:52
to
24:52
be
24:52
able
24:52
to
24:52
have
24:52
a
24:52
walkway
24:53
behind
24:54
for
24:54
people
24:54
to
24:54
move
24:55
around.
24:56
Now,
24:56
many
24:56
times
24:57
people
24:57
go
24:57
in
24:57
there
24:57
and
24:58
go,
24:58
I'm
24:58
just
24:58
going
24:58
to
24:58
do
24:58
42
24:59
inches
24:59
around
24:59
the
24:59
whole
25:00
thing.
25:00
And
25:01
you
25:01
cramp
25:01
up
25:02
that
25:02
kitchen
25:03
and
25:03
it
25:03
looks
25:04
horrible.
25:05
And
25:05
sometimes
25:06
little
25:06
tiny
25:06
islands
25:07
make
25:07
more
25:07
of
25:07
a
25:08
headache
25:09
than
25:09
doing
25:09
a
25:09
peninsula
25:10
or
25:10
something
25:10
else
25:11
when
25:11
it
25:11
comes
25:11
to
25:11
that
25:11
design.
25:13
So
25:13
think
25:13
really
25:14
about
25:14
spatial
25:15
awareness
25:15
and
25:15
how
25:16
this
25:16
is
25:16
going
25:16
to
25:16
work.
25:17
When
25:17
you
25:17
go
25:18
cabinetry,
25:18
if
25:18
you've
25:18
got
25:19
10
25:19
foot
25:19
ceilings,
25:20
maybe
25:20
it
25:21
doesn't
25:21
make
25:21
sense
25:21
to
25:22
spend
25:22
all
25:22
that
25:22
money
25:22
on
25:23
taking
25:23
it
25:23
back
25:23
up
25:23
to
25:24
10ft
25:24
to
25:24
the
25:24
ceiling.
25:25
No
25:26
one
25:26
uses
25:26
that
25:27
top.
25:27
Rarely
25:28
does
25:28
somebody
25:28
use.
25:28
I'll
25:29
say.
25:29
I
25:29
shouldn't
25:29
say
25:29
no
25:30
one.
25:30
Rarely
25:31
does
25:31
somebody
25:31
use
25:31
it
25:32
up
25:32
there
25:32
because
25:32
they
25:32
need
25:32
a
25:32
ladder
25:33
to
25:33
get
25:33
up
25:33
there.
25:34
And
25:34
what
25:34
are
25:34
you
25:35
going
25:35
to
25:35
store
25:35
up
25:35
there?
25:36
Maybe
25:36
the
25:36
holiday
25:37
stuff.
25:37
But
25:38
really
25:38
it's
25:38
expensive
25:39
space
25:39
that
25:39
you
25:40
don't
25:40
use.
25:41
So
25:41
think
25:41
about
25:42
that.
25:43
Maybe
25:43
put
25:44
it
25:44
into
25:44
better
25:45
appliances
25:45
or
25:45
better
25:46
finishes
25:46
in
25:46
the
25:46
cabinetry.
25:47
These
25:48
are
25:48
things
25:48
that
25:48
we
25:49
see
25:49
out
25:49
there.
25:50
So
25:50
think
25:51
about
25:51
how
25:51
that
25:51
all
25:52
works
25:52
together
25:53
and
25:53
to
25:53
make
25:53
sure
25:54
that
25:54
your
25:55
spatial
25:55
awareness
25:56
and
25:56
those
25:56
walkways
25:56
are
25:57
correct
25:58
and
25:58
that
25:58
you've
25:59
got
25:59
enough
25:59
room
26:00
to
26:00
move
26:00
around.
26:00
So
26:01
42
26:01
inches
26:02
minimum.
26:02
If
26:03
you've
26:03
got
26:03
an
26:03
island
26:03
and
26:03
there's
26:04
stuff
26:04
behind
26:04
it,
26:04
make
26:04
sure
26:04
there's
26:05
about
26:05
66
26:05
over
26:06
there
26:06
when
26:07
you
26:07
start.
26:07
And
26:08
the
26:08
thing
26:08
is
26:08
too,
26:08
here's
26:09
one
26:09
other
26:09
little
26:09
thing
26:10
you
26:10
can
26:10
cheat
26:10
a
26:10
little
26:11
bit
26:11
if
26:11
it's
26:11
a
26:11
higher
26:11
raised
26:12
bar.
26:13
So
26:13
those
26:13
are
26:14
things
26:14
to
26:14
consider.
26:15
And
26:15
another
26:16
thing
26:16
that's
26:16
interesting
26:16
is
26:17
I'm
26:17
watching
26:17
building
26:17
code
26:18
change
26:18
out
26:18
there.
26:18
It
26:18
used
26:19
to
26:19
be
26:19
on
26:19
the
26:19
side
26:19
of
26:19
an
26:20
island.
26:20
You
26:20
had
26:21
to
26:21
have
26:21
an
26:21
outlet
26:22
there,
26:22
maybe
26:22
two
26:23
if
26:23
there's
26:23
a
26:23
sink
26:24
or
26:24
a
26:24
cooktop
26:24
in
26:24
it.
26:25
Now
26:26
there
26:26
won't
26:26
let
26:26
you
26:27
put
26:27
it
26:27
on
26:27
the
26:27
side
26:27
of
26:27
the
26:27
island
26:28
because
26:28
of
26:28
building
26:28
code.
26:29
Now
26:29
what
26:30
you're
26:30
seeing
26:30
is
26:30
people
26:30
put
26:31
them
26:31
up
26:31
in
26:31
a
26:31
pop
26:31
up
26:31
in
26:32
the
26:32
countertop
26:32
or
26:32
something
26:33
like
26:33
that
26:34
because
26:34
people
26:35
were
26:35
getting
26:35
hurt
26:36
dragging
26:36
off
26:36
crock
26:37
pots
26:37
and
26:37
things
26:37
with
26:37
a
26:38
kid
26:38
pulling
26:38
on
26:39
the
26:39
cord.
26:40
They
26:40
were
26:40
before
26:41
worried
26:41
about
26:41
the
26:41
cord
26:42
going
26:42
across
26:43
the
26:43
walkway.
26:44
Now
26:45
they've
26:45
changed
26:45
it
26:45
to
26:46
go
26:46
the
26:46
other
26:46
direction.
26:47
So
26:47
make
26:47
sure
26:47
your
26:48
designer
26:48
is
26:48
up
26:48
on
26:49
building
26:49
code.
26:50
Otherwise
26:51
that
26:51
starts
26:51
to
26:52
get
26:52
them
26:52
and
26:53
hopefully
26:53
the
26:53
electrician
26:55
will
26:55
be
26:55
happy
26:55
because
26:55
they
26:56
don't
26:56
have
26:56
to
26:56
cut
26:57
outlets
26:57
into
26:57
the
26:57
side
26:58
of
26:58
cabinetry
26:58
anymore,
26:59
which
26:59
they
26:59
absolutely
27:00
hated
27:00
to
27:00
do
27:01
during
27:01
that
27:01
installation
27:02
process.
27:03
So
27:03
next
27:04
one
27:04
on
27:04
the
27:04
list
27:04
here
27:05
is
27:06
putting
27:06
too
27:06
much
27:07
in
27:07
a
27:07
small
27:07
space.
27:09
Sometimes
27:10
those
27:10
accessories
27:12
can
27:12
really
27:13
not
27:13
work.
27:14
Sometimes
27:15
those
27:15
two
27:16
tiered
27:17
silverware
27:18
drawers
27:18
don't
27:19
work.
27:20
Sometimes
27:20
pull
27:21
out
27:22
trays.
27:23
Like
27:23
you've
27:24
got
27:24
a
27:24
cabinet
27:25
that
27:25
has
27:25
dividers
27:25
in
27:26
it
27:26
for
27:26
putting
27:26
cookie
27:26
sheets,
27:27
cutting
27:27
boards,
27:27
things
27:28
like
27:28
that.
27:29
Sometimes
27:29
you
27:29
put
27:30
in
27:30
a
27:31
drawer
27:31
to
27:31
pull
27:31
them
27:31
out
27:32
so
27:32
you
27:32
have
27:32
a
27:32
little
27:32
easier
27:32
access.
27:34
Takes
27:34
up
27:34
so
27:34
much
27:34
space,
27:35
you're
27:35
just
27:36
better
27:36
to
27:36
go
27:36
in
27:36
there
27:36
and
27:37
dig
27:37
it
27:37
out.
27:38
Sometimes
27:39
the
27:39
overly
27:40
complex
27:40
corner
27:41
cabinets
27:42
with
27:42
these
27:43
multiple
27:43
swing
27:43
outs
27:44
can
27:44
be
27:44
troublesome.
27:45
Sometimes
27:46
too
27:46
many
27:46
accessories
27:48
are
27:48
just
27:48
not
27:49
awesome.
27:49
Do
27:50
I
27:50
like
27:50
to
27:50
have
27:50
drawers
27:51
or
27:51
doors
27:51
with
27:51
pullouts?
27:53
Almost
27:53
every
27:53
time
27:54
it's
27:54
going
27:54
to
27:54
be
27:54
drawers
27:56
now.
27:56
I
27:57
think
27:57
having
27:57
one
27:58
cabinet
27:58
that
27:59
has
27:59
doors
28:00
and
28:00
adjustable
28:01
pullout
28:02
trays
28:03
is
28:03
smart
28:03
for
28:04
those
28:04
awkward
28:05
or
28:06
strange
28:07
size
28:07
items
28:07
that
28:07
won't
28:08
fit
28:08
into
28:08
a
28:08
drawer.
28:08
So
28:08
you
28:08
can
28:09
move
28:09
it
28:09
around
28:09
a
28:09
little
28:10
bit,
28:10
but
28:10
really
28:11
when
28:11
it
28:11
comes
28:11
down
28:11
to
28:11
it,
28:12
making
28:12
sure
28:13
that
28:13
you've
28:13
got
28:14
that
28:14
dialed
28:14
in
28:15
and
28:15
not
28:16
trying
28:16
to
28:16
cram
28:16
too
28:16
much
28:17
stuff
28:17
in
28:17
a
28:17
small
28:17
space.
28:18
Those
28:18
1920s
28:19
to
28:19
1950s,
28:21
60s
28:22
kitchens
28:22
can
28:22
be
28:23
super
28:23
small,
28:24
even
28:24
more
28:25
so
28:25
when
28:25
they're
28:25
older.
28:26
And
28:26
trying
28:26
to
28:26
put
28:27
too
28:27
much
28:27
in
28:27
there
28:28
can
28:28
be
28:28
a
28:28
problem.
28:29
So
28:29
don't
28:29
over
28:29
complicate
28:30
your
28:30
kitchen.
28:31
You
28:31
still
28:32
have
28:32
to
28:32
cook
28:32
in
28:32
it.
28:33
And
28:33
if
28:33
you've
28:33
got
28:34
a
28:34
short
28:34
amount
28:34
of
28:34
space,
28:35
sometimes
28:35
too
28:35
many
28:36
accessories
28:37
take
28:37
up
28:37
too
28:37
much
28:37
real
28:38
estate
28:38
and
28:39
you
28:39
won't
28:39
have
28:39
as
28:39
much
28:40
storage
28:40
and
28:41
you're
28:41
less
28:41
organized.
28:42
Just
28:43
like
28:43
those
28:43
pop
28:43
up.
28:44
Mixer
28:44
stands
28:44
are
28:44
great
28:45
if
28:45
you're
28:45
a
28:45
baker,
28:46
but
28:46
if
28:47
you're
28:47
trying
28:47
to
28:47
get
28:47
every
28:47
square
28:48
footage
28:48
that
28:49
takes
28:49
up
28:49
one
28:50
entire
28:50
cabinet
28:51
and
28:51
you
28:51
can't
28:51
use
28:52
it
28:52
for
28:52
anything
28:52
else,
28:52
be
28:53
judicious
28:53
with
28:54
your
28:54
accessories
28:55
to
28:55
make
28:55
sure
28:55
you're
28:55
good
28:56
to
28:56
go.
28:57
Now
28:57
here's
28:58
the
28:58
next
28:58
one.
28:58
Details
28:59
that
28:59
matter,
29:00
like
29:01
matching
29:01
grain.
29:02
Really
29:03
using
29:04
the
29:04
right
29:04
wood
29:04
species
29:05
for
29:05
the
29:05
project.
29:06
These
29:06
are
29:06
all
29:06
huge.
29:08
I
29:08
love
29:08
flat
29:09
panel
29:09
grain
29:09
match
29:09
doors.
29:10
I
29:10
was
29:10
just
29:10
at
29:10
a
29:11
house
29:11
yesterday,
29:12
black
29:12
walnut.
29:13
They
29:13
grain
29:13
matched
29:13
it
29:13
all
29:14
the
29:14
way
29:14
up
29:14
through
29:14
the
29:14
cabinet.
29:14
Looks
29:15
absolutely
29:15
gorgeous.
29:17
Beautiful
29:17
detail.
29:18
I
29:18
think
29:18
it
29:19
works
29:19
well
29:19
because
29:20
it
29:20
does
29:21
show
29:22
the
29:22
details
29:22
of
29:22
the
29:23
cabinetry.
29:24
But
29:24
the
29:24
designer
29:25
should
29:25
be
29:25
keeping
29:25
you
29:26
away
29:26
from
29:27
natural
29:27
maple
29:28
slab
29:29
veneer
29:30
doors
29:30
and
29:30
slab
29:31
wood
29:31
door
29:31
fronts.
29:32
Flat
29:32
slab,
29:33
solid
29:34
wood
29:34
doors
29:34
I
29:35
would
29:35
avoid
29:35
at
29:35
all
29:35
costs.
29:37
And
29:37
if
29:37
your
29:37
designer
29:38
is
29:38
trying
29:38
to
29:38
talk
29:38
you
29:39
into
29:39
using
29:39
solid
29:40
wood
29:40
on
29:40
the
29:40
drawer
29:40
fronts
29:41
and
29:41
a
29:41
flat
29:41
slab,
29:42
question
29:43
it.
29:44
Because
29:44
solid
29:45
wood
29:45
is
29:45
not
29:45
as
29:45
good
29:45
as
29:46
veneer
29:46
in
29:46
that
29:46
situation.
29:46
They
29:47
will
29:47
warp,
29:47
they
29:47
will
29:47
move,
29:48
they
29:49
will
29:49
not
29:49
look
29:49
awesome
29:50
no
29:50
matter
29:50
where
29:50
you're
29:50
at
29:50
in
29:51
the
29:51
country.
29:51
And
29:51
if
29:51
you're
29:51
in
29:51
a
29:51
humid
29:52
area
29:52
on
29:53
a
29:53
coast,
29:53
it's
29:54
going
29:54
to
29:54
be
29:54
worse.
29:55
So
29:56
make
29:56
sure
29:57
you're
29:57
doing
29:57
veneer
29:58
on
29:58
those
29:58
kind
29:58
of
29:58
doors.
29:59
Now
29:59
here's
30:00
the
30:00
thing.
30:01
Veneers
30:01
can
30:01
be
30:01
tricky.
30:02
One
30:02
of
30:02
the
30:03
hardest
30:03
ones
30:03
to
30:03
make
30:04
look
30:04
right
30:05
is
30:05
maple.
30:06
Maple
30:07
in
30:07
natural,
30:08
the
30:09
minerals
30:09
that
30:10
are.
30:10
You
30:10
could
30:10
have
30:11
the
30:11
exact
30:11
same
30:11
wood
30:12
species.
30:13
And
30:13
if
30:13
there's
30:13
more
30:14
minerals
30:14
in
30:14
one
30:15
water
30:15
source,
30:15
the
30:16
other
30:16
or
30:16
the
30:16
land,
30:17
two
30:17
trees
30:18
could
30:18
come
30:18
out
30:18
of
30:18
the
30:18
same
30:19
forest
30:19
right
30:19
next
30:19
to
30:19
each
30:19
other.
30:20
And
30:20
you're
30:20
going
30:20
to
30:20
have
30:20
a
30:20
striped
30:21
or
30:22
multi
30:22
tone
30:22
natural
30:23
kitchen
30:24
just
30:24
with
30:24
maple
30:25
natural.
30:25
So
30:25
be
30:25
very
30:26
careful.
30:27
With
30:27
natural
30:28
maple,
30:29
I
30:29
would
30:29
go
30:29
to
30:29
ash
30:30
or
30:30
something
30:30
like
30:30
that,
30:31
do
30:31
something
30:31
a
30:31
little
30:32
bit
30:32
different.
30:33
Because
30:33
natural
30:34
maple,
30:34
unless
30:35
you're
30:35
putting
30:35
a
30:35
stain
30:35
on
30:35
it
30:36
to
30:36
just
30:36
kick
30:37
it
30:37
up
30:37
a
30:37
notch,
30:38
you're
30:38
going
30:38
to
30:39
have
30:39
some
30:39
issues
30:39
there.
30:40
I
30:40
have
30:40
done
30:41
veneer
30:41
flitches
30:42
where
30:42
the
30:42
veneers
30:43
are
30:43
matched
30:44
and
30:44
still
30:45
have
30:45
a
30:46
little
30:46
bit
30:46
of
30:46
color
30:46
issues
30:47
with
30:47
that.
30:48
So
30:48
be
30:49
very
30:49
careful
30:49
with
30:50
these
30:50
wood
30:50
species
30:51
that
30:51
can
30:51
be
30:51
gotchas
30:52
with
30:53
wide
30:53
grain
30:53
variations
30:54
in
30:54
natural.
30:55
A
30:55
little
30:55
bit
30:55
of
30:55
stain
30:56
can
30:56
help
30:56
even
30:56
that
30:57
out
30:57
and
30:57
make
30:57
it
30:57
look
30:57
right.
30:58
So
30:59
be
30:59
very
30:59
careful
30:59
of
30:59
that.
31:00
And
31:01
wood
31:01
species
31:02
that
31:02
are
31:02
high
31:02
color
31:03
like
31:03
cherry
31:04
or
31:04
things
31:04
like
31:04
that,
31:05
if
31:07
they're
31:07
pulling
31:07
those
31:07
out
31:08
of
31:08
different
31:08
sets,
31:08
you
31:08
can
31:08
have
31:09
something
31:09
start
31:09
up
31:09
darker,
31:10
lighter,
31:10
whatever.
31:10
So
31:11
be
31:11
careful
31:11
with
31:11
those.
31:12
Those
31:12
can
31:12
be
31:13
a
31:13
headache.
31:13
Great
31:14
example,
31:14
if
31:14
you're
31:15
doing
31:15
a
31:15
shaker
31:15
door
31:16
and
31:16
you've
31:16
got
31:16
a
31:16
veneer
31:17
panel
31:17
on
31:17
the
31:17
inside
31:18
and
31:18
some
31:18
wood
31:18
species
31:19
that
31:19
can
31:19
give
31:19
you
31:20
a
31:20
two
31:20
tone
31:20
effect.
31:21
And
31:21
if
31:21
you
31:22
do
31:22
a
31:22
natural
31:23
reverse
31:23
raised
31:24
panel
31:24
in
31:24
there
31:25
with
31:25
real
31:25
wood
31:27
that
31:27
can
31:27
give
31:27
you
31:27
a
31:28
striped
31:28
look
31:28
as
31:28
well
31:29
that
31:29
you
31:29
wouldn't
31:29
get
31:29
with
31:30
a
31:30
veneer.
31:30
If
31:31
you're
31:31
ordering
31:31
cabinetry
31:32
without
31:32
seeing
31:32
a
31:32
door
31:33
or
31:33
what
31:33
you're
31:33
looking
31:33
for,
31:34
that's
31:34
a
31:34
red
31:35
flag
31:35
to
31:35
me.
31:35
You
31:36
should
31:36
be
31:36
signing
31:36
off
31:36
on
31:36
a
31:36
door
31:37
and
31:37
a
31:37
color
31:38
and
31:38
go
31:38
right
31:39
into
31:39
that.
31:39
When
31:40
we
31:40
come
31:40
back,
31:40
we're
31:41
going
31:41
to
31:41
wrap
31:41
up
31:41
our
31:41
discussion
31:42
here,
31:42
the
31:42
top
31:42
10
31:42
mistakes
31:43
kitchen
31:43
and
31:43
bath
31:43
designers
31:44
make
31:44
in
31:44
designing
31:45
projects
31:45
and
31:45
maybe
31:45
get
31:46
into
31:46
some
31:47
buyer's
31:47
guide
31:47
as
31:48
well
31:48
on
31:48
some
31:48
new
31:48
stuff
31:48
that
31:49
we
31:49
haven't
31:49
talked
31:49
about.
31:49
We'll
31:50
do
31:50
that
31:50
just
31:50
as
31:50

33:50
We've
33:51
been
33:51
talking
33:51
about
33:51
the
33:52
top
33:52
10
33:52
mistakes
33:53
that
33:54
kitchen
33:54
and
33:54
bath
33:54
designers
33:55
make
33:55
in
33:56
designing
33:56
projects.
33:57
And
33:57
I'm
33:57
a
33:57
huge
33:58
fan
33:58
of
33:58
the
33:58
design
33:58
community
33:59
out
33:59
there,
33:59
so
33:59
I
34:00
am
34:00
not
34:00
throwing
34:01
shade.
34:02
There
34:02
are
34:02
just
34:03
so
34:03
many
34:03
things
34:03
with
34:03
kitchen
34:04
and
34:04
bath
34:04
design
34:05
that
34:05
you've
34:06
got
34:06
to
34:06
be
34:06
careful
34:06
from
34:07
a
34:07
design
34:07
perspective.
34:09
And
34:09
there's
34:09
a
34:09
lot
34:09
of
34:09
interior
34:10
designers
34:10
out
34:11
there
34:11
that
34:12
dabble
34:13
in
34:13
cabinetry
34:15
and
34:15
those
34:15
are
34:15
the
34:15
ones
34:15
that
34:16
need
34:16
to
34:16
be
34:16
very
34:16
careful
34:17
of.
34:17
I
34:17
want
34:17
to,
34:17
you
34:17
know,
34:17
if
34:18
you're
34:18
going
34:18
to
34:18
be
34:18
doing
34:18
a
34:18
kitchen
34:19
or
34:19
even
34:19
a
34:19
bathroom,
34:20
make
34:21
sure
34:21
you've
34:21
got
34:21
Somebody
34:22
experienced,
34:23
like
34:23
in
34:23
a
34:23
bathroom,
34:24
for
34:24
instance.
34:25
Most
34:25
of
34:25
the
34:26
time
34:26
people
34:26
are
34:26
going
34:26
to
34:27
cabinetry,
34:28
that
34:28
is
34:28
kitchen
34:29
height,
34:29
which
34:30
finishes
34:30
off
34:30
at
34:31
36
34:31
versus
34:32
maybe
34:32
32
34:32
or
34:33
even
34:34
in
34:34
the
34:34
70s
34:35
when
34:35
they
34:35
went
34:35
to
34:36
desk
34:36
height,
34:37
30
34:37
was
34:38
crazy.
34:39
Now
34:39
we'll
34:40
also
34:40
have
34:40
people
34:40
go,
34:40
oh,
34:41
I'm
34:41
designed
34:41
for
34:41
my
34:41
kids
34:42
or
34:42
7
34:42
years
34:42
old.
34:43
Keep
34:44
in
34:44
mind
34:44
that
34:44
they're
34:45
only
34:45
that
34:45
age
34:45
for
34:46
just
34:46
a
34:46
short
34:46
time
34:47
of
34:47
their
34:47
lives.
34:48
So
34:48
maybe
34:48
you'd
34:48
be
34:49
better
34:49
having
34:49
a
34:49
step
34:49
stool
34:50
or
34:50
a
34:50
pull
34:50
out
34:50
toe
34:51
kick
34:51
that
34:51
has
34:51
a
34:51
place
34:52
for
34:52
them
34:52
to
34:52
step
34:52
up
34:53
so
34:53
when
34:54
they
34:54
grow
34:54
up,
34:55
they
34:55
still
34:56
have
34:56
a
34:56
bathroom
34:56
that
34:56
you
34:56
don't
34:57
have
34:57
to
34:57
go
34:57
remodel
34:57
again
34:57
and
34:58
put
34:58
cabinetry
34:58
in
34:58
because
34:58
it's
34:58
too
34:59
low.
35:00
So
35:00
be
35:00
careful
35:00
designing
35:01
for
35:01
the
35:01
children.
35:02
That
35:02
can
35:03
be
35:03
a
35:03
problem
35:03
unless
35:03
you've
35:04
got
35:04
eight
35:04
kids
35:04
are
35:05
going
35:05
to
35:05
be
35:05
going
35:05
through
35:05
there
35:06
and
35:06
there's
35:07
always
35:07
going
35:07
to
35:07
be
35:07
little
35:07
ones
35:08
for
35:08
a
35:08
decade.
35:08
I
35:09
get
35:09
it.
35:10
But
35:10
just
35:10
be
35:10
careful
35:11
with
35:11
designing
35:12
for
35:12
children
35:12
because
35:13
that
35:13
can
35:13
be
35:13
an
35:13
issue.
35:14
So
35:14
next
35:15
one
35:15
up
35:15
here.
35:16
One
35:16
of
35:16
the
35:16
biggest
35:17
design
35:17
mistakes
35:17
I
35:17
see
35:18
are
35:18
bad
35:18
contracts
35:19
and
35:19
approval
35:20
that
35:20
designer
35:21
when
35:21
they
35:21
have
35:21
your
35:22
design
35:22
done.
35:22
Before
35:23
you
35:23
order
35:23
cabinetry,
35:24
you
35:24
should
35:24
have
35:24
signed
35:25
off
35:25
on
35:25
all
35:25
the
35:25
elevations
35:26
in
35:26
the
35:26
floor
35:26
plan.
35:27
Put
35:27
your
35:28
John
35:28
Hancock
35:28
on
35:29
there,
35:30
make
35:30
sure
35:30
that's
35:30
signed
35:31
off.
35:31
Have
35:32
a
35:32
door
35:32
sample
35:32
and
35:33
a
35:33
stain
35:33
color.
35:34
If
35:34
you're
35:35
ordering
35:35
cabinetry
35:36
and
35:36
they're
35:36
placing
35:37
the
35:37
order
35:37
and
35:37
you're
35:37
going
35:38
to
35:38
figure
35:38
out
35:38
the
35:39
stain
35:39
color
35:39
later,
35:40
run.
35:41
That
35:41
is
35:41
not
35:41
a
35:42
business
35:42
I
35:42
want
35:42
to
35:42
do
35:42
business
35:43
with.
35:43
And
35:44
if
35:44
your
35:44
cabinet
35:44
maker
35:45
is
35:45
not
35:45
doing
35:45
the
35:45
finish
35:46
themselves,
35:47
unless
35:48
this
35:48
is
35:48
a
35:48
high
35:49
end
35:50
painted
35:50
in
35:50
place
35:51
where
35:51
they're
35:51
going
35:51
to
35:52
basically
35:52
set
35:52
up
35:53
a
35:53
paint
35:53
booth
35:53
inside
35:54
the
35:54
house,
35:55
95%
35:56
of
35:56
the
35:56
time
35:56
I'd
35:57
say
35:57
run
35:58
because
35:58
that's
35:58
a
35:59
huge
35:59
issue.
36:00
Number
36:00
10
36:00
here.
36:01
Not
36:02
having
36:02
a
36:02
personal
36:03
relationship
36:03
with
36:03
the
36:04
installation
36:04
crew.
36:05
And
36:05
this
36:06
is
36:06
where
36:06
I
36:06
worry
36:07
about
36:08
remodel
36:09
projects.
36:10
Because
36:10
what
36:10
can
36:10
happen
36:11
is
36:12
I
36:12
don't
36:12
want
36:12
to
36:12
see
36:12
any
36:13
Superman
36:13
complexes.
36:14
What's
36:14
a
36:15
Superman
36:15
complex?
36:16
When
36:17
I
36:17
would
36:17
walk
36:17
onto
36:18
a
36:18
job
36:18
site
36:18
and
36:18
I
36:19
was
36:19
working
36:19
with
36:19
an
36:19
unfamiliar
36:20
contractor
36:22
or
36:22
an
36:23
unfamiliar
36:23
installer.
36:24
The
36:25
Superman
36:25
complex
36:26
is
36:26
somebody
36:27
trying
36:27
to
36:27
show
36:27
off
36:27
to
36:27
the
36:28
homeowner
36:28
that
36:28
they're
36:29
the
36:29
savior
36:29
of
36:29
the
36:30
project.
36:31
Maybe
36:31
a
36:31
door
36:32
shows
36:32
up
36:32
that's
36:32
damaged,
36:33
cabinetry
36:34
gets
36:34
unwrapped,
36:35
it's
36:35
been
36:35
shipped,
36:36
there's
36:37
a
36:37
scratch.
36:38
The
36:38
Superman
36:39
complex
36:39
is
36:39
the
36:40
contractor,
36:40
the
36:40
installer
36:41
that
36:41
comes
36:41
up
36:41
and
36:42
goes,
36:43
Mr.
36:43
And
36:43
Mrs.
36:44
Almoner,
36:44
look
36:44
at
36:44
the
36:44
scratch
36:45
on
36:45
this.
36:45
I'm
36:45
so
36:46
happy
36:46
I
36:46
caught
36:46
it.
36:46
I
36:47
will
36:47
go
36:47
deal
36:48
with
36:48
the
36:49
cabin
36:50
Maker
36:50
and
36:50
the
36:50
cabinet
36:51
designer.
36:51
I'm
36:51
gonna
36:52
make
36:52
sure
36:52
and
36:52
handle
36:52
this.
36:53
I'm
36:53
so
36:53
happy
36:53
I
36:53
could
36:54
show
36:54
this
36:54
off
36:55
to
36:55
you
36:56
because
36:56
this
36:57
isn't
36:57
acceptable
36:57
on
36:57
my
36:58
job
36:58
site.
36:59
That's
36:59
the
37:00
superhero
37:00
complex
37:01
right
37:01
there.
37:01
I
37:01
call
37:01
it
37:01
the
37:01
Superman
37:02
complex
37:03
because
37:03
here's
37:04
what
37:04
happens.
37:05
You
37:05
take
37:05
a
37:05
homeowner
37:06
that
37:06
is
37:07
very
37:07
happy
37:08
with
37:08
what
37:08
they
37:08
have,
37:09
it's
37:09
like
37:09
buying
37:10
a
37:10
new
37:10
car.
37:11
Somebody
37:12
puts
37:12
a
37:12
scratch
37:12
in
37:12
the
37:12
car,
37:14
it's
37:14
never
37:14
the
37:14
same.
37:15
I
37:15
would
37:16
much
37:16
rather
37:16
have
37:17
that
37:18
contractor,
37:19
that
37:19
installer,
37:20
even
37:21
the
37:21
designer
37:22
come
37:22
over
37:22
and
37:22
grab
37:23
that
37:23
door
37:23
quietly
37:24
and
37:24
walk
37:24
off
37:25
and
37:25
get
37:25
it
37:25
fixed.
37:26
No
37:27
need
37:27
for
37:27
the
37:27
homeowner
37:27
be
37:28
involved.
37:28
It's
37:28
going
37:28
to
37:28
be
37:28
done.
37:29
Make
37:30
it
37:30
happen.
37:31
Why
37:31
cause
37:32
a
37:32
problem?
37:33
And
37:33
that's
37:34
where
37:34
that
37:34
relationship
37:34
goes.
37:36
That
37:36
way
37:36
you
37:37
can
37:37
get
37:37
it
37:37
taken
37:37
care
37:38
of
37:38
and
37:38
no
37:38
one's
37:39
throwing
37:39
people
37:39
under
37:39
the
37:39
bus.
37:41
Designers
37:41
can
37:41
do
37:41
it
37:41
too.
37:42
Designers
37:42
can
37:43
do
37:43
it.
37:43
Oh,
37:43
my
37:43
gosh,
37:44
look
37:44
at
37:44
this,
37:44
Mrs.
37:44
Smith.
37:45
They
37:45
put
37:45
the
37:45
plumbing
37:45
in
37:46
the
37:46
wrong
37:46
spot.
37:47
Instead
37:47
of
37:47
walking
37:48
up
37:48
the
37:48
contractor
37:48
going,
37:48
hey,
37:49
we
37:49
got
37:49
to
37:49
fix
37:49
this.
37:49
We
37:49
got
37:50
a
37:50
problem.
37:50
And
37:50
them
37:50
calling
37:50
the
37:50
plumber
37:51
out
37:51
and
37:51
making
37:51
it
37:51
happen.
37:52
I
37:53
don't
37:53
like
37:53
the
37:53
superhero
37:54
complex
37:55
when
37:55
it
37:55
comes
37:56
to
37:56
that.
37:57
So
37:57
not
37:57
having
37:57
a
37:58
personal
37:58
relationship
37:58
with
37:59
the
37:59
installation
37:59
crew
37:59
and
38:00
the
38:00
contractor
38:00
can
38:00
be
38:00
a
38:01
huge
38:01
problem
38:01
if
38:02
they're
38:02
not
38:02
working
38:02
together
38:03
correctly.
38:04
So
38:04
that's
38:04
my
38:05
top
38:05
10
38:05
mistakes
38:06
kitchen
38:06
bath
38:07
designers
38:07
can
38:07
make
38:08
in
38:08
designing
38:08
projects.
38:09
These
38:10
are
38:10
my
38:10
top
38:11
10
38:11
for
38:11
this
38:11
year.
38:12
Now,
38:12
I
38:12
wanted
38:13
to
38:13
talk
38:13
about
38:13
some
38:13
of
38:14
the
38:14
cabinetry
38:15
buyer's
38:15
guide
38:16
stuff
38:16
here,
38:17
just
38:17
to
38:17
make
38:17
sure
38:17
we
38:18
talk
38:18
on
38:18
a
38:18
few
38:18
things
38:19
here.
38:19
Here
38:20
are
38:20
some
38:20
warning
38:20
signs
38:21
out
38:21
there.
38:21
What
38:21
I
38:22
would
38:22
say,
38:22
absolutely
38:23
not
38:23
never
38:23
going
38:24
to
38:24
happen.
38:24
I
38:25
have
38:25
seen
38:25
on
38:26
the
38:26
ask
38:26
a
38:26
cabinet
38:26
maker.
38:27
A
38:27
trend
38:27
recently
38:29
of
38:29
custom
38:29
cabinet
38:30
makers
38:30
not
38:30
doing
38:31
finishes
38:32
blows
38:33
my
38:33
mind.
38:34
That
38:34
is
38:34
an
38:34
absolute
38:35
no
38:35
go.
38:36
Do
38:36
not
38:36
pass
38:36
code,
38:37
do
38:37
not
38:37
collect
38:37
$200.
38:38
I
38:38
would
38:38
never
38:39
hire
38:39
a
38:39
company
38:39
that
38:40
can't
38:40
do
38:40
their
38:40
own
38:40
finishes.
38:41
And
38:42
many
38:42
times
38:42
these
38:42
people
38:43
go,
38:43
oh,
38:43
I'm
38:43
going
38:43
to
38:43
do
38:43
it
38:43
in
38:44
white
38:44
oak.
38:44
And
38:44
you
38:44
can
38:44
figure
38:45
it
38:45
out
38:45
later.
38:45
No,
38:45
no.
38:46
Cabinetry
38:47
finishes
38:48
should
38:48
be
38:49
done
38:50
in
38:50
the
38:50
factory,
38:51
in
38:51
a
38:52
paint
38:52
room
38:53
with
38:53
a
38:53
high
38:54
end
38:54
finish.
38:55
If
38:56
your
38:56
cabinet
38:56
maker
38:57
is
38:57
going
38:57
down
38:57
to
38:57
their
38:57
local
38:58
paint
38:58
store
38:58
or
38:58
Home
38:59
Depot
38:59
or
38:59
Lowe's
38:59
and
39:00
buying
39:00
the
39:00
finish
39:00
out
39:00
of
39:01
there,
39:01
you
39:01
hired
39:01
the
39:01
wrong
39:02
company,
39:02
Period.
39:03
And
39:03
stop.
39:04
So
39:04
you
39:04
want
39:05
to
39:05
make
39:05
sure
39:06
that
39:06
they're
39:06
using
39:07
some
39:07
of
39:07
the
39:07
latest
39:07
finishes.
39:08
If
39:08
they're
39:08
using
39:08
a
39:09
lacquer,
39:10
I'm
39:10
out.
39:11
What
39:11
used
39:11
to
39:12
be
39:12
the
39:12
high
39:12
end,
39:13
which
39:14
was
39:14
a
39:14
conversion
39:15
varnish,
39:16
is
39:16
now
39:16
the
39:16
mid
39:17
end.
39:17
There
39:18
are
39:18
all
39:18
these
39:18
new
39:19
2K
39:20
style
39:21
urethane
39:22
finishes
39:22
out
39:22
there
39:23
that
39:23
are
39:23
baked
39:24
on
39:24
with
39:24
either
39:24
UV
39:25
or
39:26
heat,
39:27
some
39:27
are
39:27
water
39:27
based,
39:28
some
39:28
aren't.
39:29
That
39:29
are
39:30
superior
39:30
finishes.
39:31
They're
39:31
hard,
39:32
but
39:32
they're
39:32
flexible,
39:34
they're
39:34
clear,
39:34
they're
39:35
durable,
39:35
they
39:35
don't
39:36
look
39:36
like
39:36
plastic.
39:37
So
39:38
if
39:38
your
39:38
cabinet
39:38
maker
39:39
is
39:39
buying
39:39
it
39:39
off
39:39
the
39:39
shelf
39:40
someplace,
39:40
it's
39:41
not
39:41
a
39:41
commercial
39:41
finish.
39:42
You've
39:43
got
39:43
the
39:43
wrong
39:43
cabinets.
39:44
Your
39:45
durability
39:45
does
39:45
not
39:46
come
39:46
from
39:47
whether
39:47
the
39:47
box
39:47
is
39:48
made
39:48
out
39:48
of
39:48
particle
39:48
board
39:49
or
39:49
plywood.
39:50
It
39:50
comes
39:51
from
39:51
the
39:51
finish
39:51
on
39:52
the
39:52
wearable
39:52
side
39:52
of
39:53
the
39:53
cabineture.
39:54
Many
39:54
times
39:54
if
39:55
you
39:55
get
39:55
water
39:55
damage
39:56
in
39:56
a
39:56
cabinet,
39:57
doesn't
39:58
really
39:58
matter
39:58
that
39:58
much
39:59
if
39:59
it's
39:59
particle
39:59
board
39:59
or
40:00
plywood.
40:00
It's
40:01
going
40:01
to
40:01
delaminate,
40:02
it's
40:02
going
40:03
to
40:03
swell
40:03
up.
40:03
Either
40:04
way
40:04
you're
40:04
going
40:05
to
40:05
have
40:05
problems.
40:06
It
40:06
doesn't
40:07
really
40:07
prevent
40:08
that
40:08
much
40:08
of
40:09
an
40:09
issue.
40:09
In
40:10
today's
40:10
day,
40:11
you're
40:11
still
40:11
going
40:11
to
40:12
have
40:12
an
40:12
issue
40:12
there.
40:12
You're
40:13
still
40:13
going
40:13
to
40:13
be
40:13
replacing
40:13
cabinetry,
40:14
you're
40:14
still
40:14
going
40:14
to
40:15
be
40:15
dealing
40:15
with
40:15
those
40:15
issues.
40:16
But
40:16
that
40:17
finish
40:18
tells
40:18
you
40:18
whether
40:18
that
40:18
cabinet's
40:19
going
40:19
to
40:19
look
40:19
good
40:19
for
40:20
18
40:20
months
40:20
or
40:21
18
40:21
years.
40:22
And
40:22
that's
40:23
really
40:23
the
40:23
biggest
40:24
importance
40:25
of
40:25
that.
40:26
And
40:26
some
40:26
of
40:27
the
40:27
plywoods
40:27
I'm
40:27
still
40:28
very
40:28
nervous
40:28
about
40:28
out
40:29
there.
40:30
Lots
40:30
of
40:30
formaldehydes
40:31
that
40:32
sneak
40:32
into
40:32
the
40:32
country
40:33
from
40:34
stuff
40:34
from
40:34
overseas.
40:34
You
40:35
gotta
40:35
be
40:35
careful
40:35
with
40:35
that.
40:36
Now,
40:36
the
40:37
next
40:37
thing
40:37
here
40:37
I
40:37
wanna
40:37
talk
40:38
about
40:38
real
40:38
quick
40:39
is
40:39
custom
40:40
versus
40:40
semi
40:40
custom
40:41
versus
40:41
RTI
40:42
or
40:43
rta.
40:44
Ready
40:44
to
40:44
assemble,
40:45
ready
40:45
to
40:45
install,
40:45
whatever.
40:46
I
40:47
see
40:47
them
40:47
sailed
40:48
both
40:48
ways
40:48
depending
40:49
on
40:49
where
40:49
you're
40:49
at
40:49
in
40:49
the
40:49
country.
40:50
Custom
40:51
means
40:51
nothing.
40:52
Custom
40:52
means
40:52
somebody's
40:53
building
40:53
it
40:53
for
40:53
you
40:53
and
40:53
your
40:53
project.
40:54
Craft
40:55
made
40:55
makes
40:56
stuff
40:56
that's
40:56
custom
40:57
for
40:57
you.
40:57
Many
40:57
times
40:58
you're
40:58
ordering
40:58
the
40:58
cabinets,
40:59
they're
40:59
putting
41:00
the
41:00
cabinets
41:00
together,
41:00
it's
41:00
getting
41:01
shipped
41:01
out,
41:01
going
41:01
to
41:01
you.
41:02
Technically
41:03
it's
41:03
semi
41:03
custom,
41:04
but
41:04
it's
41:05
similar
41:06
and
41:06
they're
41:06
a
41:06
national
41:07
brand.
41:08
My
41:08
concern
41:08
is
41:09
custom.
41:10
Oh,
41:10
I'm
41:10
having
41:10
custom
41:11
cabinet
41:11
made.
41:12
Most
41:13
of
41:13
the
41:13
time
41:13
I
41:13
go,
41:13
yikes,
41:14
that
41:15
could
41:15
be
41:15
worse
41:15
than
41:16
the
41:16
semi
41:16
custom
41:16
or
41:17
even
41:17
the
41:17
RTA
41:17
stuff
41:18
out
41:18
there.
41:19
So
41:19
custom
41:20
is
41:20
a
41:20
word
41:20
that
41:21
raises
41:21
my
41:21
question.
41:22
Marks
41:22
up
41:22
that
41:23
I
41:23
go,
41:23
oh,
41:24
what
41:24
are
41:25
you
41:25
doing?
41:26
Because
41:26
the
41:26
big
41:26
manufacturers,
41:27
they've
41:28
got
41:28
big
41:28
warranties,
41:29
they've
41:29
got
41:30
big
41:30
budgets
41:30
and
41:30
finish
41:31
systems.
41:31
It's
41:32
the
41:32
small
41:32
guy
41:32
I
41:32
get
41:33
worried
41:33
about.
41:34
There
41:34
are
41:34
some
41:35
amazing
41:35
small
41:35
cabinet
41:36
makers
41:36
out
41:36
there.
41:37
Equally,
41:38
there
41:38
are
41:38
some
41:39
horrible
41:39
small
41:39
cabinet
41:40
makers
41:40
out
41:40
there
41:41
that
41:41
just
41:42
put
41:42
out
41:42
garbage.
41:43
And
41:43
I
41:43
don't
41:43
want
41:43
you
41:43
spending
41:44
that
41:44
Money
41:44
on
41:44
it.
41:45
So
41:45
those
41:46
are
41:46
things
41:46
that
41:46
I
41:47
want
41:47
you
41:47
to
41:47
be
41:47
very
41:47
careful
41:48
for.
41:49
Couple
41:49
warning
41:49
signs
41:50
before
41:50
we
41:50
go
41:51
we
41:51
talked
41:52
about
41:52
a
41:52
little
41:52
earlier,
41:52
but
41:52
I
41:53
just
41:53
want
41:53
to
41:53
hit
41:53
on
41:53
this
41:53
again.
41:54
Your
41:54
designer
41:55
should
41:55
have
41:55
that
41:55
cabinet
41:56
design
41:57
knocked
41:57
out,
41:57
finished
41:58
up,
41:58
you
41:58
guys
41:58
are
41:59
done.
42:00
That
42:00
stain
42:00
color
42:00
should
42:01
be
42:01
done.
42:02
And
42:02
again,
42:02
if
42:03
they're
42:03
sending
42:03
those
42:03
raw
42:03
cabinets
42:04
out
42:04
to
42:04
your
42:04
job
42:04
site,
42:05
be
42:06
super
42:06
concerned
42:07
now.
42:08
Other
42:09
thing
42:09
here,
42:09
too,
42:10
that's
42:11
a
42:11
warning
42:11
sign
42:11
is
42:11
when
42:11
they
42:11
only
42:12
do
42:12
one
42:12
or
42:12
two
42:12
wood
42:13
species
42:13
in
42:13
a
42:13
custom
42:13
shop,
42:14
only
42:14
do
42:15
oak
42:15
or
42:15
white
42:15
oak.
42:16
Okay.
42:17
Makes
42:17
me
42:17
nervous.
42:18
They're
42:18
not
42:19
good
42:19
at
42:19
what
42:19
they
42:19
do,
42:20
or
42:21
they're
42:21
just
42:21
so
42:22
strange
42:23
that
42:24
you're
42:24
gonna
42:24
have
42:24
a
42:24
hard
42:24
time
42:25
working
42:25
on
42:25
them.
42:26
Now
42:26
ready
42:26
to
42:26
assemble
42:27
cabinetry
42:27
that's
42:28
gotten
42:28
a
42:28
lot
42:28
expensive
42:29
recently
42:29
because
42:29
a
42:29
lot
42:30
of
42:30
it's
42:30
made
42:30
overseas.
42:31
Now.
42:32
There
42:32
are
42:32
other
42:32
companies
42:33
that
42:33
have
42:33
moved
42:33
it
42:33
over
42:33
to
42:33
the
42:33
US
42:34
but
42:35
the
42:35
stuff
42:35
coming
42:35
out
42:35
of
42:36
China,
42:37
Vietnam,
42:38
that
42:38
kind
42:39
of
42:39
stuff
42:39
I'm
42:39
very
42:39
concerned
42:40
about
42:41
because
42:41
of
42:42
the
42:42
materials,
42:43
the
42:43
woods,
42:44
the
42:44
chemicals,
42:44
the
42:45
finishes,
42:46
and
42:46
the
42:46
ability
42:47
to
42:47
get
42:47
parts.
42:48
Many
42:48
times
42:49
on
42:49
those
42:49
cheaper
42:49
ones,
42:50
they
42:50
have
42:50
knockoff
42:51
hardware
42:52
that
42:52
you'll
42:52
never
42:52
find
42:52
a
42:53
replacement
42:53
for.
42:54
They're
42:54
not
42:54
gross,
42:55
they're
42:55
not
42:55
bloom,
42:55
they're
42:56
not
42:56
celici.
42:57
And
42:57
you've
42:58
got
42:58
serious
42:58
problems
42:59
when
42:59
it
42:59
comes
42:59
to
42:59
that.
42:59
So
43:00
I
43:00
want
43:00
to
43:00
make
43:00
sure
43:01
that
43:01
you
43:01
totally
43:02
understand
43:03
what
43:03
you're
43:03
buying,
43:04
because
43:04
that
43:05
knockoff
43:05
hardware,
43:06
you're
43:07
gonna
43:07
have
43:07
a
43:07
carpenter
43:07
out
43:07
there
43:08
trying
43:08
to
43:08
make
43:08
a
43:08
drawer
43:08
box
43:09
work
43:09
with
43:10
putting
43:10
the
43:10
right
43:11
hardware
43:11
on
43:11
it
43:11
versus
43:12
using
43:12
the
43:12
knockoff
43:12
stuff.
43:13
So
43:13
just
43:14
take
43:14
your
43:14
time.
43:15
When
43:15
things
43:16
are
43:16
too
43:16
cheap
43:16
or
43:17
the
43:17
bid
43:17
is
43:17
way
43:17
off,
43:18
it's
43:18
probably
43:18
a
43:19
reason
43:19
why
43:19
I
43:19
need
43:19
you
43:20
to
43:20
ask
43:20
a
43:20
few
43:20
more
43:20
questions.
43:21
All
43:22
right,
43:22
if
43:22
you
43:22
got
43:22
questions
43:22
of
43:23
me,
43:23
head
43:23
over
43:23
to
43:23
aroundthehouse
43:24
online.com
43:25
you
43:25
can
43:25
message
43:26
me
43:26
over
43:26
there.
43:26
Goes
43:27
right
43:27
into
43:27
my
43:27
inbox.
43:28
And
43:28
guys,
43:29
thanks
43:29
for
43:29
tuning
43:29
in
43:30
today.
43:30
I
43:30
tried
43:30
to
43:30
make
43:30
it
43:30
through
43:31
with
43:31
my
43:31
voice.
43:31
I
43:31
was
43:32
out
43:32
sick
43:32
last
43:32
week
43:32
over
43:33
the
43:34
Memorial
43:34
Day
43:35
weekend,
43:36
resting
43:36
my
43:37
voice
43:37
up
43:37
a
43:37
little
43:37
bit.
43:37
And
43:38
we
43:38
got
43:38
it
43:38
enough
43:38
to
43:38
get
43:38
through
43:38
the
43:39
show
43:39
today.
43:40
So
43:40
I
43:40
appreciate
43:41
all
43:41
of
43:41
your
43:41
thoughts.
