Transcript
- 0:02Happy Monday morning, everybody. My Oh my Kim and myself got on
- 0:13her Kimberly Marie Trike, a three Wheeler.
- 0:18And like Kenny Schrader says, I've never fell over on a three
- 0:22Wheeler. We rode that trike 3450 miles
- 0:31because when we were out in Sonoma, CA, Kim and I, we went
- 0:39over to Sacramento and it was like 25 miles over 25 miles
- 0:45back. So that's where the other 50
- 0:47miles comes in from. I will tell you one of the
- 0:50greatest trips of my lifetime. But as they say about travel,
- 0:57you know what they say about travel, you know what they say
- 0:59about travelling. It's not for the weak.
- 1:04The older you get, you have to be more organized and more
- 1:07deliberate and know what you're going to do makes it easier.
- 1:17We're getting ready to do Herm and Schrader, Kenny Schrader and
- 1:24Ann Schrader, they, they drove their trike all the way
- 1:29everywhere. Now, Kenny Schrader drove his
- 1:32trike all the way out to Sonoma, arrived at 4:00 the evening
- 1:39before we took off. So he arrives at 4:00, he's
- 1:43there for the pre party, wake up at 5:00 in the morning.
- 1:47We're on the road like at 6:30 or seven.
- 1:51He drives out there, sleeps for 8 hours maybe and drives all the
- 1:57way to Charlotte. We had a wonderful time, a nice
- 2:01party now and gets on the trike with him and they drove it back.
- 2:07Kenny Schrader is a a monster. I have I say Kenny, why are you
- 2:16abusing yourself like that? Take it easy on yourself buddy.
- 2:22See, I don't, I don't want to be a biker.
- 2:26I don't care about, you know, you're not a biker unless you
- 2:29ride your bike everywhere. Well, guess what?
- 2:32I'm not a biker. I enjoy life.
- 2:36I'm in the fun. I love my life, I love my wife,
- 2:42I love my three daughters. I love my 6 grandbabies.
- 2:46So 3450 miles is enough now, Schrader, I think he put on
- 2:54about almost 7000 miles. So Kenny Schrader for being
- 3:01crazy, everybody. Oh, I love him.
- 3:05He is wild. My God.
- 3:11OK, I think it's my, that's my monologue.
- 3:15Couple things on the docket today #1 a really nice person on
- 3:23X on social media just said, Herman, give me your opinion on,
- 3:29you know, racing on Mother's Day and racing on Easter.
- 3:33I said, well, that's a good one. Another subject we're going to
- 3:37talk about today is my mother-in-law, D.
- 3:41She was really concerned. She said, do you ever look at
- 3:46your comment section? I sit every once in a while when
- 3:50I go to lunch and I'm by myself, you know, waiting for my food.
- 3:54I will scroll the comment section.
- 3:56Absolutely. But I wished I could look at it
- 3:59as much as I could. Did you know we are at 5 /
- 4:06500,000 followers and friends on Facebook?
- 4:12We're at 499,000 fans, friends, followers on Facebook on the
- 4:19Kenny Wallace official page, then over there on my private
- 4:23page were over 200,000. So I want to thank you all so
- 4:28much. And then over there on the
- 4:31social media site X were right around 355,000 friends and
- 4:37followers. And then the granddaddy of them
- 4:41all, we are at 165,000 followers on YouTube.
- 4:51Never in a million years did I think that we would make a
- 4:55business out of this. And oh, yeah, it's two-part, by
- 4:59the way, you know, Kenny Wallace Media.
- 5:06Thank you, Jeff Gordon, Kenny Wallace media is, you know, the
- 5:10YouTube, the Kenny Wallace YouTube show and you know, we
- 5:14make good money there, but we work hard for it.
- 5:17We push out a lot of content. Kenny conversation.
- 5:21We interview the world's greatest racers of all types,
- 5:25NASCAR, O'Reilly NHRA, drag motorcycles, just people public
- 5:32figures. So Kenny conversation well over
- 5:35120, over one hour interviews, of course, coffee with Kenny and
- 5:42then the Herman Schrader show over there on Dirty MO.
- 5:44There's a lot to this, so I want to thank you all.
- 5:52Thank you very much. OK, my opinion on racing on
- 5:58Mother's Day and Easter, I don't think it's necessary.
- 6:03I think it's wrong now. I do know that.
- 6:09What is it? Minnesota and Detroit play on
- 6:14Christmas Day. I think that's dumb, too.
- 6:18So I'm consistent, all right? I just, I think there's 365 days
- 6:23in a year, OK, 52 weeks in a year.
- 6:29I think people overdo it. I just don't see the reason why
- 6:32you, you got to do it. Now.
- 6:35Do I care? Absolutely not.
- 6:38I don't care. Nice gentleman on X asked me.
- 6:43Kenny, what do you think about racing on Mother's Day and
- 6:47Easter? I think it's dumb, OK?
- 6:52The reason I think it's dumb is because there's plenty racing.
- 6:56We don't. I mean, we can take a week off
- 7:00and, and I say it all the time. I'm repetitive as we know.
- 7:04I'm working on repeating myself. Dale Junior says it perfect.
- 7:10He says the great thing about the NFL is they only they only
- 7:13play 16 games a year. That's 16 weeks.
- 7:17That leaves you wanting for more.
- 7:19My philosophy, NASCAR races too much.
- 7:24You want to make people like the sport race less.
- 7:28Certainly you can take off Easter and Mother's Day.
- 7:32I just I think it's an important day, Mothers and Easter, super
- 7:39important day. And my God, the restaurants
- 7:41yesterday you could have never told me that there were $4.00 a
- 7:45gallon gas prices. My God, the people got the
- 7:49money. Jesus, them restaurants is lined
- 7:52up out the door. Every restaurant.
- 7:55I mean, that tells you how important Mother's Day is.
- 7:59You couldn't get into a restaurant if you tried.
- 8:01Yesterday, people were begging, let me spend money.
- 8:04Like, please let me spend all my money.
- 8:08I'm like, these guys are crazy. OK, I see.
- 8:15We made it to 8 minutes too quick.
- 8:19So Kim's Mama, she says there's a gentleman that wants to know
- 8:25on one of your, one of your, you know, coffee with Ken's.
- 8:29You said you was afraid of Richard Petty.
- 8:33I am afraid of Richard Petty because he's bigger than life.
- 8:39I once said to Kyle Petty. I said, Kyle, I'm afraid of your
- 8:43dad. He said, hey, man, I'm afraid of
- 8:46my dad too. Aren't we all just a little bit
- 8:49afraid of our dads? You know, if your dad is doing
- 8:53it right or your mom is doing it right, you going to be a little
- 8:56afraid, little respect. If mom and dad are raising you
- 9:01right, you going to be a little bit afraid of them because
- 9:04because they're the boss. Now for the grand finale, we
- 9:10arrive at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, you know, on Saturday.
- 9:15And Kyle Petty wanted, wanted Kenny Schrader.
- 9:19He wanted myself and he wanted Richard Petty to lead all 150
- 9:23motorcycles into the Charlotte Motor Speedway for some pictures
- 9:27and videos. I sat there and Richard Petty,
- 9:32we parked. We turned our trikes off.
- 9:34He was on a trike, too. And he looked at me and goes,
- 9:38when was the first time you raced here?
- 9:41I got off my bike and you know, I was a little scared.
- 9:44I went over there. I said, I said my first time
- 9:47here. 1984, as a Cup crew chief on the Levi Guerra team of Joe
- 9:53Rutman. He looked at me.
- 9:56I just kind of rejogged his memory.
- 9:58Seemed like it caught him off guard.
- 10:03And he said, well, I guess that'd make you a better driver
- 10:06once you know the car. Richard, 8889 years old, super,
- 10:11super smart. He lost.
- 10:14Like Kyle said, Diddy is wrecked so much.
- 10:17He's broke every bone in his body.
- 10:19But it's like, Richard, do you feel any pain ever?
- 10:22No, man, I mean, the guy is skinny active.
- 10:26I mean, Richard's going to live to 100, I'm sure of it.
- 10:29Or more. OK, here I go.
- 10:35The big three, Mario Andretti, AJ Floyd, Richard Petty, all of
- 10:42them have drove race cars and wrecked their asses off one time
- 10:45or another. They all got great stories of
- 10:48big wrecks and here they all are, 90 years old, walking
- 10:52around. Not a damn thing wrong with him.
- 10:54Then you got a guy down the street playing racquetball and
- 10:58eating vitamins and and hell, he's dead.
- 11:02There's a lesson to be learned. Live your life, be happy.
- 11:07You'll probably live longer. Can you believe that all those
- 11:10guys are 90 years old and still kicking ass?
- 11:13So Richard's perfect. His mind is sound riding that
- 11:17trike right next to me. So to end, I told Richard.
- 11:23I said, Richard, thank you for talking to me on this ride.
- 11:25I said, you know, I've always been a little afraid of you.
- 11:29He took his finger and he goes, you should be afraid of me, he
- 11:34says, but you've never got the finger.
- 11:37And I looked at him. He goes, Yep, if you've got the
- 11:39finger, that means you've done something wrong.
- 11:42That meant he liked to me. Yeah, so that's what I meant.
- 11:47I'm afraid of Richard Petty. I guess I should have used the
- 11:51word. I'm nervous.
- 11:53I'm not really afraid of Richard Petty.
- 11:55I guess I'm just a little. There's Richard Petty.
- 11:58When I grew up as a kid, it was AJ Foyt, Mary Andretti, Richard
- 12:03Petty. Bigger than life.
- 12:06All right, everybody have a great Monday.
