• 0:52
Speaker 2: What you're trying to get into a day shoe. What

Speaker 2: that led to a what's called a headache.
• 1:10
Speaker 1: Donald, Really, I drank a little bit of beer last
• 1:13
Speaker 1: night and woke up with a little bit of a
• 1:16
Speaker 1: it's gone now, but it was like a little bit
• 1:18
Speaker 1: of a stuffy nose, like a little bit of a
• 1:21
Speaker 1: running nose. When I drink a lot of hops, Yes,
• 1:24
Speaker 1: when that gets it or wheat or whatever that is, Yes,
• 1:27
Speaker 1: I get a little bit of a running nose.
• 1:28
  Speaker 3: I've noticed.
• 1:29
Speaker 2: Well, like I drink a little bit too much wine,
• 1:31
  Speaker 2: I get what's called a headache.
• 1:33
Speaker 3: That's because of the sugar. Though I know we need
• 1:36
Speaker 3: to drink more water when you drink your wine.
• 1:38
Speaker 2: Of course you do, But I like it makes me happy.
• 1:41
Speaker 2: By the way, a lot of people were saying they
• 1:43
Speaker 2: do want to play the Bengo game. I told you
• 1:46
  Speaker 2: I was wrong.
• 1:47
  Speaker 3: I told you.
• 1:48
Speaker 2: So let's get some Bengo cards from that or you know,
• 1:51
Speaker 2: it would be good, Joelle, if we could get that
• 1:53
Speaker 2: guy's thing and then have it be easily downloadable for people.
• 1:58
Speaker 5: Oh, I could probably work on that, Yeah, so.
• 2:00
Speaker 2: They can play along. We might need.
• 2:02
Speaker 1: Different we need different Yeah, we need different Bingo cards.
• 2:05
Speaker 1: That's I'm trying to tell you.
• 2:06
Speaker 2: Well, who's going to do all that manual labor?
• 2:09
Speaker 6: Hi fans, If you would like to make Bingo card,
• 2:11
Speaker 6: it's available for free.
• 2:14

• 2:26
Speaker 1: United States of America, we will ship to you.
• 2:30
Speaker 2: Right So, just you know, if you're in the mood,
• 2:33
Speaker 2: if you got the time, make yourself a fake Doctor's
• 2:36
Speaker 2: Real Friends Bingo cards so everyone can can play along
• 2:39
Speaker 2: and somehow Joel will figure out a way to make
• 2:41
  Speaker 2: them available.
• 2:42
Speaker 5: Yes, we can do that. We can select.
• 2:45
Speaker 6: We can select a winner at random. So just making
• 2:48
Speaker 6: the card does not guarantee you some GT's kombucha. Just
• 2:51
Speaker 6: to clarify, I can.
• 2:52
Speaker 2: Pick one of you guys that Joel's doing the small
• 2:54
Speaker 2: print now, Joe, I think're supposed to say that like
• 2:55
Speaker 2: fast and low, like bank, your card is United States.
• 3:02
Speaker 2: It by the way, you are allowed to go to
• 3:07
Speaker 2: the UK. Donald you have to just quarantine alone for
• 3:10
Speaker 2: fourteen days. It's it's it's the uh because you know
• 3:14
Speaker 2: the UK left the EU, so you just can't. We're
• 3:19
Speaker 2: not allowed to go to Europe. I got it. Isn't
• 3:23
Speaker 2: that so embarrassing? But we're so bad at this that
• 3:26
Speaker 2: we've been banned from Europe.
• 3:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how it goes. Yeah, that's how it goes.
• 3:31
Speaker 2: We didn't exactly nail it.
• 3:32
Speaker 1: Now we missed. We missed by a lot.
• 3:37
Speaker 2: I saw this graph. I saw this graph that showed
• 3:40
Speaker 2: the first spike and then it said, uh, it was
• 3:43
Speaker 2: labeled naive, and then it showed the second spike, and
• 3:46
Speaker 2: it goes stupid like you can call the first spike naive,
• 3:51
Speaker 2: but the second spike is just stupidity.
• 3:53
Speaker 1: Well, you know, and I'm just talking about this because
• 3:57
Speaker 1: it's it's been the whole year so far, the whole year.
• 4:03
Speaker 1: But fucking put on a mask, guys, all of this
• 4:06
Speaker 1: bullshit about I don't need to wear a mask. Like
• 4:08
Speaker 1: I was watching the news and some dude actually said
• 4:11
Speaker 1: the same thing that they said in the beginning. Oh,
• 4:14
Speaker 1: it's just like the flu. If I get it, you know,
• 4:16
Speaker 1: my body could fight the infection. You know, I'm not
• 4:19
Speaker 1: afraid of this thing.
• 4:20
Speaker 3: He has no idea, no idea.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: Now granted, granted he was coming from Arizona and going
• 4:26
Speaker 1: to Florida, the two hotspots in the United States, but still, dude.
• 4:31
Speaker 2: I read in Wisconsin they're having a herd immunity festival
• 4:35
Speaker 2: where people that want to try and get it are
• 4:38
Speaker 2: all going to meet and go to this festival, so
• 4:42
Speaker 2: they think that they can get it and create some
• 4:44
Speaker 2: sort of herd immunity.
• 4:46
Speaker 3: But hasn't heard immunity proven not to work with this virus.
• 4:50
Speaker 2: Some people have caught it twice, Yeah, and not in
• 4:53
Speaker 2: and I think in Sweden they did a whole experiment
• 4:55
Speaker 2: where they weren't going to do it.
• 4:56
  Speaker 3: Didn't work.
• 4:57
Speaker 2: It didn't work, no, and it didn't save them any
• 4:59
Speaker 2: dollars for their economy either. It has not been a success.
• 5:04
Speaker 2: How are you, Donald fase On? How's you know? The
• 5:06
Speaker 2: picture you posted of your daughter in the zach braftewl
• 5:09
Speaker 2: really is a beautiful shot. It put a tear to
• 5:12
Speaker 2: my eye because she's such a beautiful child and what
• 5:14
Speaker 2: a glorious towel. Anyway, how are you? How's life over
• 5:18
Speaker 2: at your house? How are things so different?
• 5:19
  Speaker 4: Man?
• 5:20
Speaker 2: You know you're still using the inflatable the kids over
• 5:23
Speaker 2: the inflatable thing he bought from the backyard.
• 5:25
Speaker 3: Yeah, they are. So. We started to do a little
• 5:27
Speaker 3: bit of golf. So you know.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: How I saw that picture of you and your kids
• 5:30
  Speaker 2: all playing golf.
• 5:31
Speaker 1: You know how I love to play golf. So I
• 5:33
Speaker 1: took them to the driving range. And my daughter's really
• 5:36
Speaker 1: excited about it. She's gung ho about hitting balls with
• 5:41
Speaker 1: dad and she you know, she's she's picking it up.
• 5:45
Speaker 1: My son, however, would rather play video games. I made
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: a mistake when I was when I was a few
• 5:52
Speaker 1: years ago. Well, last year, I introduced Rocko to video games,
• 5:59
Speaker 1: big mistake. Every word out of his mouth now now, granted,
• 6:04
Speaker 1: his vocabulary has grown.
• 6:08
Speaker 3: By leaps and bounds, but.
• 6:11
Speaker 1: Holy cow, man, if I got to hear about, you know,
• 6:16
Speaker 1: Minecraft and the inendermen and and and jewels and.
• 6:21
Speaker 3: All of that stuff, is.
• 6:22
Speaker 2: Minecraft is his favorite?
• 6:24
  Speaker 3: Well?
• 6:24
Speaker 1: No, he has three favorites. Well, now four it's Minecraft, Zelda,
• 6:31
Speaker 1: Breath of the Wild. I see, Joel loves Breath of
• 6:35
  Speaker 1: the Wild.
• 6:36
Speaker 5: This is a child of taste.
• 6:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, well yeah, Star Wars battle Front, which is a
• 6:45
Speaker 1: first person shooter game but in the Star Wars universe,
• 6:48
Speaker 1: and the fourth one it just started happening, and it's
• 6:52
  Speaker 1: like some I don't I don't remember the name, something
• 6:55
Speaker 1: like Castle something I don't know.
• 6:58
Speaker 3: Anyway, hold on, rock Out.
• 7:05
Speaker 6: We've never gotten a feature from we have one future.
• 7:07
Speaker 6: A while ago from Rock.
• 7:09
  Speaker 5: It's been a minute.
• 7:10
  Speaker 2: First cameo.
• 7:12
Speaker 5: I'm excited to hear what this lastness to. It can't
• 7:17
Speaker 5: be Castlevania, that's so violent.
• 7:19
  Speaker 3: Castle Crashers.
• 7:21
Speaker 4: I thought it might be Castle Crashers.
• 7:23
Speaker 5: Yeah, wait, I don't know Castle Crashers. What is this?
• 7:25
Speaker 4: Four player co op? Very like low polygraphics. It's really fun.
• 7:29
Speaker 5: Yes, a living room game. I love it.
• 7:32
  Speaker 2: It's a living room game.
• 7:33
Speaker 3: A game that everybody can play.
• 7:35
Speaker 4: A game you can play on your couch.
• 7:36
  Speaker 2: Everybody can play.
• 7:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody in your house can sit on the couch
• 7:40
Speaker 1: and play a game.
• 7:41
  Speaker 3: The game.
• 7:41
Speaker 1: Whereas Minecraft, you could play it with four players, but
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: that's just tough.
• 7:46
Speaker 3: Or two players, I'm not sure. But uh, and I.
• 7:49
Speaker 2: Just got an Xbox One, So I think I'm gonna
• 7:51
Speaker 2: try and get into you.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: Get Castle Crashers if you're into if you know what
• 7:55
Speaker 1: you really listen, I know we the Switch, Get that dude,
• 8:00
Speaker 1: and get Zelda Breath of the Wild.
• 8:03
Speaker 2: Well, that's what he's playing on Switch.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: That's the one game he plays on Switch, and that
• 8:08
Speaker 1: that game alone is worth buying the Switch for.
• 8:12
Speaker 2: Okay, period. Well, I just got Xbox because I feel
• 8:16
Speaker 2: like I've reached the point in Quarantine where I'm gonna
• 8:19
Speaker 2: have to start doing some new stuff and get the switch. Dude,
• 8:22
Speaker 2: get into a video game.
• 8:23
Speaker 1: Get the switch, and get Zelda. I'm telling you right now,
• 8:25
Speaker 1: I'm suitching. Get Zelda Breath of the Wild.
• 8:27
Speaker 2: I just got an Xbox One. I'm sure I can
• 8:28
Speaker 2: find a game to play an Xbox One. Why are
• 8:30
Speaker 2: you telling me to get a whole different system?
• 8:32
Speaker 1: Because this I'm telling you right now, dude, if you
• 8:34
Speaker 1: want to play a game that's going to occupy your
• 8:37
Speaker 1: time and make your brain, do you know, think and stuff?
• 8:42
Speaker 3: Zelda Breath of the Wild? Am I wrong? Guys? Please
• 8:45
Speaker 3: if I'm wrong, tell me I'm wrong.
• 8:47
  Speaker 4: You're certainly not wrong. It's a great game. There's also
• 8:49
Speaker 4: great games for I will.
• 8:51
Speaker 2: Now go I return the Xbox One because I cannot
• 8:57
Speaker 2: think of a game that I might like on Xbox One.
• 8:59
Speaker 2: Son to games and I like on Xbox One.
• 9:03
Speaker 3: I could think a game the back Pedal.
• 9:04
Speaker 5: I don't know what type of gamers that is, Like, what.
• 9:07
Speaker 3: Do you like in your video video games?
• 9:09
Speaker 2: I don't really play, but when we were making the
• 9:11
Speaker 2: TV show Scrubs, I would get into games, and the
• 9:15
Speaker 2: last game I remember being really into was Hitman.
• 9:18
Speaker 7: The first one, the first one, okay, all right, liked
• 9:23
Speaker 7: it because for me it was I liked the idea
• 9:26
Speaker 7: of like having to play a character and like go
• 9:29
Speaker 7: undercover and and like you'd feel your heart beating when
• 9:33
Speaker 7: they were starting to figure you out.
• 9:35
Speaker 2: And I really I really like that. I would.
• 9:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, we finished that game. I finished that game, that's how.
• 9:40
Speaker 2: But there's another one. There's been a second one that
• 9:43
Speaker 2: apparently is really good that I never played.
• 9:45
Speaker 4: Third one on the way.
• 9:46
Speaker 2: There's a third one on the way, so I think
• 9:49
Speaker 2: I might. I don't know what do you call that
• 9:51
  Speaker 2: kind of game?
• 9:51
  Speaker 5: That's what I like totally.
• 9:53
Speaker 6: I feel like you might be like an Elder Scrolls
• 9:55
Speaker 6: or like a sky Rim kind of guy.
• 9:57
Speaker 2: I don't like too much wizardy shit.
• 9:59
Speaker 5: When people red Elder Scrolls, get the f out of here.
• 10:03
  Speaker 2: When people start like g t A, like g t
• 10:06
Speaker 2: A I, when people start throwing like wizard spells, I'm out.
• 10:10
  Speaker 2: I don't like that. I like reality. I started to
• 10:13
Speaker 2: like that one. The Spider Man kid is playing uncharged. No, no, no, uncharged, uncharged.
• 10:20
Speaker 4: That's a good, great game series.
• 10:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, I only problem it's for the PlayStation, so you
• 10:25
Speaker 1: can't get it on Xbox.
• 10:27
Speaker 2: Sorry. Also, there is a wild West one that's kind
• 10:31
  Speaker 2: of a redemption.
• 10:34
Speaker 8: Yes, yes, it's super worth. They get the second one
• 10:36
Speaker 8: Red Dead Redemption to throw it out their Assassin's Creed
• 10:40
  Speaker 8: because I don't like that.
• 10:42
  Speaker 3: I don't like those games.
• 10:43
  Speaker 4: WOA.
• 10:46
Speaker 8: It's very similar to Hitman, very similar video game form.
• 10:50
Speaker 5: It is very similar.
• 10:51
  Speaker 3: I just find it. It's weird that I don't. I don't.
• 10:53
  Speaker 3: I just don't like the game. I don't know, that's just.
• 10:55
Speaker 4: That's totally funny, totally.
• 10:56
Speaker 6: Also, when Cyber seventy seven comes out, Zach, I feel
• 10:59
Speaker 6: like you really enjoy that game because you could create
• 11:02
Speaker 6: every aspect and I mean every aspect of your character,
• 11:06
Speaker 6: and then your choices determine the storyline. So there's not
• 11:09
Speaker 6: one linear storyline that every player will have. It's entirely
• 11:12
Speaker 6: based on your choices throughout the game. It's supposed to
• 11:15
Speaker 6: be really good. I'm very excited about it.
• 11:16
Speaker 2: I tried to get into GTA Donald because you were
• 11:18
Speaker 2: obsessed with it while we did Scrubs. But I just
• 11:20
Speaker 2: find it. I find it. I find it boring after
• 11:22
  Speaker 2: a while.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: Well, then you might not like Red Dead redemption too,
• 11:25
Speaker 1: then if that's the way, because it's the same it's
• 11:27
Speaker 1: kind of the same thing as gtaemption was, like going around.
• 11:34
Speaker 3: We're about to get into our first fight.
• 11:36
Speaker 1: Let's talk about this because every game but I'm like,
• 11:38
Speaker 1: this shit is dope. You're like, yeah, right, and then
• 11:41
Speaker 1: every game that you're like, this shit is dope, I'm like,
• 11:43
  Speaker 1: that shit sucks.
• 11:44
Speaker 2: Let's get into should No, we probably shouldn't because we
• 11:47
Speaker 2: should segue off video games because there might be listeners
• 11:50
Speaker 2: who are already bored as fun about us talking about
• 11:52
  Speaker 2: video games.
• 11:53
Speaker 4: We can do this later.
• 11:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, think I should do a video game podcast.
• 11:56
  Speaker 3: Okay.
• 11:58
Speaker 2: By the way, I saw a lot of a chatter
• 12:00
Speaker 2: about people really wanting a Donald Joelle Star Wars podcast,
• 12:05
Speaker 2: So I think you guys need a side hustle.
• 12:07
Speaker 3: I'm gonna agree with a starting Star Wars.
• 12:11
Speaker 2: You guys can just go off I want. You won't
• 12:13
Speaker 2: get stopped by me. You won't have me going I'm
• 12:15
Speaker 2: so bored. You guys can geek out about Star Wars.
• 12:19
Speaker 1: Forever wants to do a Star Wars podcast.
• 12:25
Speaker 3: We're down to be the hosts of it, aren't we.
• 12:27
Speaker 6: Joel absolutely absolutely, especially, I think Between the two of us,
• 12:31
Speaker 6: we probably know everybody who's either involved in like the
• 12:35
Speaker 6: creation and or talking about I know the talking heads
• 12:39
Speaker 6: from like star Wars dot com and you know people
• 12:42
Speaker 6: like that's be funny to do like interviews and talk
• 12:43
Speaker 6: about our favorite character.
• 12:44
Speaker 2: I can get you Deborah Chow, who directed a bunch
• 12:47
Speaker 2: of the Mandalorians and is directing the new OBI one series.
• 12:51
Speaker 5: Can I tell you? I will sob openly. I'm so
• 12:53
  Speaker 5: obsessed with Deborah.
• 12:54
Speaker 2: Oh my god, get you your first mega guest, Deborah
• 12:58
Speaker 2: cho That would be.
• 12:58
  Speaker 3: Our first episode.
• 13:00
Speaker 5: All right, let me bring it to the higher up.
• 13:02
  Speaker 5: We'll discuss.
• 13:02
Speaker 2: I'm want to I want to cut, and I want
• 13:06
Speaker 2: to and I want to occasionally come on and be
• 13:08
Speaker 2: like this is so boring.
• 13:13
Speaker 1: You'll never We'll never have you on the podcast.
• 13:16
Speaker 2: Do you want to fucking count us in? Donald, Let's
• 13:19
  Speaker 2: fucking start to.
• 13:20
  Speaker 3: Count us in.
• 13:21
Speaker 1: But I also want to talk about the fact that
• 13:24
Speaker 1: our neighbor in New York City when we lived in
• 13:27
  Speaker 1: New York.
• 13:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, went to Twitter, Amy Tan went to somebody hit.
• 13:31
Speaker 2: Her up and said is this story true? And she
• 13:34
  Speaker 2: was like, I don't know, I don't know.
• 13:35
Speaker 1: She was like, I don't ever recall writing a letter
• 13:38
Speaker 1: to anyone, But I've had several people live sublet the place.
• 13:43
Speaker 3: So can you tell me the year? And I'm going
• 13:46
Speaker 3: to tell her the year.
• 13:46
Speaker 2: It would have been summer of two thousand and two, right.
• 13:50
Speaker 1: Either two thousand and two or two thousand. Well, we
• 13:52
Speaker 1: came out two thousand and one.
• 13:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, the she came on in one, so it would
• 13:55
  Speaker 2: have been summer.
• 13:55
Speaker 3: Of summer two thousand and two. Summer.
• 13:57
Speaker 2: It was the it was the loft and soho and
• 13:59
Speaker 2: it was the one right above your loft, miss Tan,
• 14:03
Speaker 2: And we apologized. We were young, and we were partying
• 14:05
Speaker 2: and we were loud.
• 14:06
Speaker 9: And if it wasn't you, well we were told it
• 14:09
Speaker 9: was you, and we definitely got a letter that we
• 14:11
Speaker 9: assumed was from you, and then we also got told
• 14:15
Speaker 9: we also got told by whoever we rented from that we.
• 14:19
Speaker 2: Needed to shut the fuck up, yeah and keep it.
• 14:23
Speaker 2: And they kept our deposit too. I wrote a very
• 14:26
Speaker 2: angry letter about them keeping our deposit.
• 14:28
Speaker 3: I do remember that as well.
• 14:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was like, this is some bs, because
• 14:34
Speaker 2: we you know, the place had some problems. We loved it,
• 14:36
Speaker 2: but it had some problems. Yeah, if you ever rent
• 14:40
Speaker 2: a place and it's got all these problems, but you
• 14:42
Speaker 2: kind of suck it up and you're like whatever. Then
• 14:45
Speaker 2: they try and keep your deposit. You're like whoa, whoa, whoa.
• 14:47
Speaker 9: Whoa this way saying all that, now, talk about the
• 14:50
Speaker 9: fucking thirty five things.
• 14:52
Speaker 2: We looked and looked out the other way from like right,
• 14:55
Speaker 2: you know, like air conditioning.
• 14:57
Speaker 3: Right, Oh, it was so hot, like the.
• 14:59
Speaker 2: Fact that Donald didn't have a room, and and started
• 15:01
  Speaker 2: calling himself Benson.
• 15:04
Speaker 3: Anyway, Six Night Stories, You're not show.
• 15:09
Speaker 2: We made about a bunch of dogs and nurses.
• 15:13
Speaker 10: And said, here's the stories.
• 15:21
Speaker 3: Yeada here, yea here.
• 15:30
Speaker 2: I love you. Your beard's looking nice, by the way,
• 15:32
Speaker 2: it's getting thrown and there's no gray in that thing.
• 15:35
Speaker 3: There's a lot of gray in it. Is just really
• 15:37
Speaker 3: I don't want to see it. Yeah.
• 15:38
Speaker 2: If I grow a beard now, it's too it's too gray.
• 15:40
  Speaker 2: I don't like it. I feel that you have a
• 15:41
Speaker 2: lot of gray. Yeah, it makes me look too old.
• 15:43
Speaker 2: So I don't really do it anymore. Although I was
• 15:45
Speaker 2: seeing on the interwebs they have this this uh die
• 15:48
Speaker 2: you can put in your beard.
• 15:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, but then like if you put your face on
• 15:52
Speaker 1: a pillow and the pillows white.
• 15:54
Speaker 3: You gotta die all on the pillow.
• 15:56
Speaker 2: I don't think it comes off. Really it comes off?
• 16:00
Speaker 2: Hell yeah, man, oh you've tried it.
• 16:03
Speaker 3: No, I just think it comes off.
• 16:04
Speaker 2: Let's make up though. I think the die is more
• 16:07
  Speaker 2: is more permanent.
• 16:08
  Speaker 3: Okay.
• 16:09
Speaker 2: Heather Locklear is in this episode. Donald, Oh, are you
• 16:11
Speaker 2: gonna sum it up for us?
• 16:13
Speaker 3: Yeah? I am gonna sum it up for Okay.
• 16:15
Speaker 2: This is a good episode, very funny and uh. Heather
• 16:20
Speaker 2: Lockleyer is the guest star. I think she does two episodes. Yes,
• 16:24
Speaker 2: and she she gets the classic gorgeous woman entrance and
• 16:29
Speaker 2: scrubs where she comes in the hallway and slow motion
• 16:33
Speaker 2: with the fan and uh, and she looks marvelous. But
• 16:37
Speaker 2: let's first hear a summary. Let me get my Stopwatch ready.
• 16:40
Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna be honest with you guys. This summary
• 16:42
  Speaker 1: is really quick.
• 16:44
Speaker 2: Well, then you're gonna beat thirty seconds.
• 16:46
Speaker 1: I guess I'm gonna definitely beat thirty seconds this time around.
• 16:48
Speaker 2: Okay, Well, let's you know, don't go because.
• 16:50
Speaker 1: This episode had so many things in it, but it
• 16:52
Speaker 1: all boils down to one thing.
• 16:53
Speaker 2: Okay, stop Watch, wait, but one second, I don't want
• 16:56
Speaker 2: you to get too cocky with your summaries. You have
• 16:58
  Speaker 2: to really have.
• 16:58
Speaker 1: To stop watch ready and go all right, see this
• 17:02
Speaker 1: episode It all boils down to one thing when you
• 17:06
Speaker 1: really think about it. This episode's all about taking chances
• 17:11
Speaker 1: and the positive things that can happen when you exit
• 17:14
Speaker 1: your comfort zone. And it takes Elliott, J D, Carla
• 17:18
Speaker 1: and doctor Cox this whole episode to realize good things.
• 17:22
Speaker 3: Can happen when you step out of your comfort zone.
• 17:25
Speaker 2: That was very good. You know, I noticed you slowed down,
• 17:28
Speaker 2: so you were trying to make it fill the thirty seconds, right.
• 17:31
Speaker 2: You know you spoke at a very leisurely pace.
• 17:34
Speaker 3: Because this time there's not because there's feeling.
• 17:37
Speaker 2: The only thing you wanted to say was this episode's
• 17:39
Speaker 2: about taking chances. So you were like, go, this episode
• 17:45
Speaker 2: is about one thing.
• 17:47
  Speaker 3: I got very I.
• 17:48
Speaker 1: Got very Bill Shatner with it, huh, this episode episode
• 17:53
  Speaker 1: it's about.
• 17:56
Speaker 2: You know, do you remember remember when Chatner went on
• 17:58
Speaker 2: SNL and he was playing himself at a convention. At
• 18:01
Speaker 2: a convention, John Love, it is like, yes, I have
• 18:04
Speaker 2: a question in an episode three two seven, what is
• 18:08
Speaker 2: the combination of the safe And he goes, look, I
• 18:11
Speaker 2: just have to say one thing coming to all these
• 18:13
Speaker 2: conventions and I get all your letters and your fan mail. Life,
• 18:18
Speaker 2: I just have to say, get a life. He goes,
• 18:26
Speaker 2: it was a show. We did it years ago.
• 18:29
Speaker 3: Great, remember that great, great episode, and I remember.
• 18:33
Speaker 2: I'm wondering he must have gotten a lot of backlash
• 18:35
Speaker 2: from like the mart dude he is Listen.
• 18:38
Speaker 1: I've I've met William Shatner quite a few times, and
• 18:41
Speaker 1: he is a lovely man. He is very funny and
• 18:46
Speaker 1: does not take the Star Trek fandom serious like that
• 18:51
Speaker 1: seriously like that, like he's for real, like on some
• 18:54
Speaker 1: I played this role. I love the fact that everybody
• 18:58
Speaker 1: loves it, but that doesn't necessarily define who I am.
• 19:01
Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
• 19:02
Speaker 2: Really so, but so how are they? I wonder how
• 19:05
Speaker 2: those mega fans are with him, because a lot of
• 19:07
Speaker 2: people who are in megafandom pieces of content understandably and
• 19:12
Speaker 2: rightfully so embrace the fan base and and and do
• 19:15
  Speaker 2: whatever they want.
• 19:16
Speaker 1: And he embraces it completely. He embraces it, and he
• 19:18
Speaker 1: doesn't come to him.
• 19:19
Speaker 2: He doesn't roll his eyes about it, or.
• 19:21
Speaker 1: I don't know that he rolls his eyes about it.
• 19:23
Speaker 1: And I don't know how he is with his fans.
• 19:27
Speaker 1: But when you talk to him about it, yeah, he's
• 19:29
Speaker 1: well aware. I was in Star Trek and it was
• 19:32
Speaker 1: a very popular show, and I, you know, I crushed it.
• 19:35
Speaker 1: That being said, you know he's a TJ Hooker with
• 19:40
  Speaker 1: the Locker.
• 19:42
Speaker 2: By the way, we look at what good hosts we are,
• 19:44
Speaker 2: we're circling back to t J Hooker with uh with
• 19:47
Speaker 2: Shattner and have the lock have their Lockleayer. What an
• 19:49
Speaker 2: odd name for a show, TJ Hooker. For those of
• 19:52
Speaker 2: you who don't know, it was not about a hooker.
• 19:54
Speaker 2: It was about a cop, a cop, the bunch of cops.
• 19:58
Speaker 2: They were partners, right. I never saw an episode.
• 20:01
Speaker 3: I think she was on it.
• 20:01
Speaker 1: I think she This is how dope Heather Lockleier. She
• 20:04
Speaker 1: had such a long career, Oh my god, back in
• 20:06
Speaker 1: the day. I think she was on two hit shows
• 20:08
Speaker 1: at one time. And I don't know if they were
• 20:11
Speaker 1: on the same network, but I know she was doing
• 20:13
Speaker 1: two shows at one time and both of them were hits,
• 20:16
Speaker 1: and she was ratings gold well.
• 20:18
Speaker 2: She was on Dynasty, right, and she was on Melrose
• 20:20
  Speaker 2: Place obviously.
• 20:22
Speaker 3: And she was on TJ Hooker.
• 20:26
Speaker 1: I don't know if it just seemed like if you
• 20:28
Speaker 1: wanted a ratings bump and you needed some you needed
• 20:33
Speaker 1: to bring the ratings up. You bring Heather Lockleer into
• 20:36
Speaker 1: the into the fold, and she just works wonders on.
• 20:39
Speaker 2: Well. She certainly is a very pretty human being, and
• 20:44
  Speaker 2: I think she's.
• 20:45
Speaker 1: Also very very, very funny and talented.
• 20:47
Speaker 3: Man, it wasn't it was.
• 20:49
Speaker 2: She was on City, she was on Bill's show Spin City.
• 20:52
Speaker 1: It was also it's like the perfect storm of you know,
• 20:56
Speaker 1: of talent. She's very beautiful, she's very fund So you.
• 21:02
Speaker 2: Know she's coming on the program, right Joelle.
• 21:04
Speaker 5: Yes, we have her scheduled for the next episodes episode.
• 21:09
Speaker 2: The next episode, we're having her on Donald. How fancy
• 21:11
  Speaker 2: is that?
• 21:12
  Speaker 3: I love this.
• 21:13
  Speaker 2: I mean I think I don't want to I don't
• 21:14
Speaker 2: want to let the fans down. I mean, you know,
• 21:16
Speaker 2: you never know what can happen in in the in
• 21:18
Speaker 2: the fast paced moving world of podcast booking guests. But uh,
• 21:22
Speaker 2: so far, so far, we have her.
• 21:25
Speaker 3: I'm very excited about it.
• 21:27
  Speaker 2: She's she's I just wanted to say, and she's she's
• 21:30
Speaker 2: had such an interesting life. We gotta we gotta ask her,
• 21:33
Speaker 2: we gotta we gotta go deep with Heather.
• 21:34
Speaker 1: Are you gonna go. Are we gonna go deep? Are
• 21:36
Speaker 1: we gonna go Are we gonna go deep?
• 21:38
Speaker 3: Deep? Deep? Undercover? Like Eddie Murphy and Beverly Hills cap too.
• 21:41
Speaker 2: No, I'm not trying to like ask her personal questions,
• 21:44
Speaker 2: but I mean she's just had some can.
• 21:45
Speaker 3: Say, ask a personal question? Are we trying to go deep? Deep?
• 21:48
  Speaker 2: Deep?
• 21:48
  Speaker 3: Married?
• 21:49
Speaker 2: She she likes Rocker. She was married to Tommy Lee.
• 21:51
Speaker 2: She was married to Richie Sambora. Oh. She she had
• 21:54
Speaker 2: a relationship with Jack Wagner, my sister. May she rest
• 21:59
Speaker 2: in peace? And did she have a crush on Jack Wagner?
• 22:01
Speaker 2: You know who that is? Donald? Yeah, he's a great
• 22:04
Speaker 2: golfer Jack Wagner. No, but he's an actor.
• 22:08
Speaker 1: No, I know he's an actor, but he's also one
• 22:10
Speaker 1: of the best celebrity golfers.
• 22:11
Speaker 2: I think he also sings too. I think my sister
• 22:14
Speaker 2: used to love him so much. She used to listen
• 22:16
Speaker 2: to his music. Okay, No, I've got her things up here.
• 22:19
Speaker 2: She's gosh, she's been on so many shows. Her first job,
• 22:24
Speaker 2: it looks like, was on Chips as a teenager, Wow
• 22:28
Speaker 2: and TJ Hooker Dynasty, a show called Going Places, Melrose Place,
• 22:37
Speaker 2: Spins City. She was on a show called Lax in
• 22:42
Speaker 2: two thousand and fourty five, the melrose Place Reunion. Jeez,
• 22:48
Speaker 2: she works a lot.
• 22:49
Speaker 3: Well, it's hell Loclia. Dude.
• 22:51
Speaker 2: Hey, she was in Uptown Girls. Yeah, wow, I mean,
• 22:55
Speaker 2: just to just to show the audience how well we're
• 22:57
Speaker 2: dovetailing all this together. Uptown Girls is the movie Donald
• 23:01
Speaker 2: made when we were in New York, when Amy Tan
• 23:04
Speaker 2: got mad at us.
• 23:05
Speaker 3: That's exactly this is. This is turning out to be.
• 23:10
Speaker 2: Wow, it's almost like we planned it all.
• 23:13
Speaker 1: It's it does seem like it's like our fans right now,
• 23:16
Speaker 1: the people listening to this podcast right now are like,
• 23:18
Speaker 1: they're making this up, but we're not all true.
• 23:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's as though Donald. So anyway, we're gonna ask
• 23:23
Speaker 2: her about some of that. We gotta I mean, I
• 23:25
Speaker 2: don't I don't know what. We're gonna ask her about everything.
• 23:27
Speaker 2: We're gona asking about Shatner. We're gonna ask about melrose Place.
• 23:31
Speaker 2: Did you ever watch melrose Place?
• 23:33
  Speaker 3: I mean I did not.
• 23:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't really aimed at us.
• 23:35
  Speaker 3: I don't think no.
• 23:37
Speaker 2: But yeah, Andrew Shoe went to my high school. He
• 23:41
Speaker 2: was a very good soccer.
• 23:42
  Speaker 3: Nobody cares.
• 23:43
Speaker 2: Zach I'm just telling you Andrew Shoe and and you
• 23:51
Speaker 2: know who his sister.
• 23:52
  Speaker 3: Is, Elizabeth Shoe.
• 23:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, both went to Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey.
• 23:57
Speaker 1: Now let me get this straight. Elizabeth Shoe Adventures in
• 24:00
Speaker 1: baby sitting Elizabeth Shoe. Yeah, she and my wife kind
• 24:04
  Speaker 1: of look alike.
• 24:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, they have the similar hair and similar chins too.
• 24:11
Speaker 2: You know who else went to my high school?
• 24:13
  Speaker 3: No, Lauren Hill.
• 24:14
Speaker 11: Lauren Hill drumming my peg with his finger, singing in
• 24:22
Speaker 11: my life with his words.
• 24:26
Speaker 12: Killing me softly with his song, killing me softly with
• 24:33
Speaker 12: his song, telling my whole life with his words, killing
• 24:39
  Speaker 12: me softly.
• 24:41
Speaker 2: I love her miseducation of Lauren Hill so much.
• 24:44
  Speaker 3: With his song.
• 24:54
  Speaker 1: That's that's you wouldn't know that, but that's trump call
• 24:56
  Speaker 1: quest right there.
• 24:58
Speaker 2: But that was the Fuji. That song was off the
• 25:01
Speaker 2: Fuji's album. And but her solo album I loved so much.
• 25:06
Speaker 1: Yeah that that record is one of the best records
• 25:08
  Speaker 1: ive ever made.
• 25:09
Speaker 2: I think I might agree with you to this day.
• 25:12
Speaker 2: She was at my bar Mitzvah and you know, we
• 25:17
Speaker 2: play a game at bar Mitzvah's. Well, at least the
• 25:19
Speaker 2: kids used to called coke and pepsi. And it's like
• 25:21
Speaker 2: a dance floor game, like you're on one side and
• 25:24
Speaker 2: your partners on the other end your coke and your
• 25:26
Speaker 2: partner's pepsi. And if they go coke, all the all
• 25:29
Speaker 2: the kids run over and they sit on your on
• 25:31
Speaker 2: your knee and they go pepsi and it's it's kind
• 25:34
Speaker 2: of like a musical chairs thing. The last person there
• 25:36
Speaker 2: is kicked off, kicked off, kicked off until there's only
• 25:38
Speaker 2: two left standing. Well, Lauren Hill was my coke and
• 25:42
Speaker 2: pepsi partner at my bar mitzvah. And that's the extent
• 25:46
  Speaker 2: of the anecdote.
• 25:47
Speaker 3: Did you guys win?
• 25:49
Speaker 2: I don't think we want no Well, because I invited
• 25:52
Speaker 2: some jocks to my bar mitzvah, and I think they
• 25:53
Speaker 2: got really serious about it. And you know they were
• 25:56
Speaker 2: Lauren and I were like the two actors, you know,
• 25:58
Speaker 2: joking around. We weren't like really trying to win coke
• 26:01
  Speaker 2: and pepsi?
• 26:02
  Speaker 3: Got it?
• 26:03
Speaker 1: Can you tell me what song you walked out to
• 26:06
Speaker 1: for your bar mitzvah and and and how you and
• 26:08
Speaker 1: and the high stepping that you did.
• 26:10
Speaker 2: So what happened was I entered my bar mitzvah. So
• 26:14
Speaker 2: what they said, Oh my god, this is so embarrassing.
• 26:16
Speaker 2: I love it though, it's so embarrassing. But you know what,
• 26:19
  Speaker 2: no one's listening.
• 26:21
  Speaker 3: It's just it's just horribles.
• 26:23
Speaker 2: So the theme was musical theater. Hell yes, so you know,
• 26:29
Speaker 2: for those of you who don't know, back in the day,
• 26:31
Speaker 2: I don't know if kids do the same, Moore, but
• 26:32
Speaker 2: back in the day, you're bar mitzvah had to have
• 26:34
Speaker 2: like a theme, and often kids would choose their sport
• 26:37
Speaker 2: because that's what you know. My theme is soccer, and
• 26:39
Speaker 2: like the centerpieces would be soccer balls and the cake
• 26:42
Speaker 2: would look like a soccer ball, and it was just
• 26:43
Speaker 2: you know that kind of thing. And uh so my
• 26:46
Speaker 2: theme is musical theater. And the the company that planned
• 26:51
Speaker 2: the party hired actors to dress up as famous characters
• 26:57
Speaker 2: from the music from different musicals, Like one guy was
• 27:00
Speaker 2: dressed as like a cat from Cats, when Gal was
• 27:03
Speaker 2: dressed as someone in Sunday in the Park with George
• 27:05
Speaker 2: with like a parasol. Someone was dressed as like lame
• 27:08
Speaker 2: is you know, someone on a barricade kind of thing.
• 27:11
Speaker 2: And and then so as I so, as I walked
• 27:15
Speaker 2: into the room, these people were standing as centerpieces in
• 27:20
Speaker 2: the middle of the tables, frozen as robots, and as
• 27:23
Speaker 2: I walked into the room, they band struck up Let's
• 27:27
Speaker 2: hear it for the Boy, and then the centerpieces all
• 27:31
Speaker 2: started moving at like robolike like robotic figures to the
• 27:36
Speaker 2: rhythm of let's hear it for the.
• 27:38
Speaker 1: Boy, and you high stepped into the and you high
• 27:41
Speaker 1: stepped into your bock metzvah.
• 27:42
Speaker 2: Yes, let's hear it for the boy, and the crowd
• 27:45
Speaker 2: went wild, and I and all the different robotic people
• 27:51
Speaker 2: moved like robots to let's hear it for the boy.
• 27:54
Speaker 3: Maybe he's no Romeo, but he's.
• 27:57
Speaker 2: My love and one man show Ooo.
• 28:00
Speaker 3: Whoo, Let's hear it for the boy.
• 28:04
Speaker 2: And I remember that my friend, I remember that, my
• 28:08
Speaker 2: friend Don Boom, my friend Roger Heller. He noticed that
• 28:13
Speaker 2: the guy playing in one of the cats from Musical
• 28:17
Speaker 2: Cats was distracted doing his robot dance till let's hear
• 28:20
Speaker 2: for the boy, And so he took his spoon and
• 28:23
Speaker 2: he tied the guy's tail around a bunch a bunch
• 28:28
Speaker 2: of a bunch of silverware. So when the poor guy
• 28:32
Speaker 2: when the number was over, and the guy was like
• 28:35
Speaker 2: taking his bow and got down off the table. He
• 28:38
Speaker 2: was clanking silver that Roger had tied to his tail,
• 28:44
Speaker 2: like like a like a car that had cans tied
• 28:47
Speaker 2: to it. Just married. Oh my god, oh my god,
• 28:54
Speaker 2: it was so embarrassing.
• 28:55
  Speaker 3: That's hilarious. Let's take a break.
• 28:57
Speaker 2: We'll be right back after these fine words.
• 29:06
Speaker 3: Let's get into the episode, all right.
• 29:07
Speaker 2: Heather Locklear comes in. Now. I don't know if you
• 29:10
Speaker 2: know this, Donald, or if our listeners know this, but
• 29:13
Speaker 2: I find that not everyone knows this. This is a
• 29:15
Speaker 2: real thing that the pharmacuy. Absolutely they send out. They're
• 29:19
Speaker 2: often beautiful women, so I assume handsome men as well,
• 29:23
Speaker 2: but more often than not, they're beautiful women. And their
• 29:26
Speaker 2: job is to convince doctors to prescribe their drug, and
• 29:33
Speaker 2: they'll they still do tons of shady stuff. I think
• 29:36
Speaker 2: some of it's been attempted to be curbs because it
• 29:39
Speaker 2: was out of control. I knew girls in my high
• 29:41
Speaker 2: school that would do this right out of high school,
• 29:42
Speaker 2: like their first job or right out of college. Their
• 29:44
Speaker 2: first job was going to do this. And you and
• 29:47
Speaker 2: if you're ever in a doctor's office and you see
• 29:49
Speaker 2: someone come in and they're all kind of dolled up
• 29:51
  Speaker 2: and they're pulling a little roly bag that's often a
• 29:55
Speaker 2: pharmaceutical rep and you'll be frustrated when you see them
• 29:57
Speaker 2: go in the office before you and you're like, oh,
• 29:59
Speaker 2: I've been waiting here and now I have to wait
• 30:01
Speaker 2: for her to go schmooze the doctor. And they always have.
• 30:04
Speaker 2: That's why the doctor always has all this swag that
• 30:07
Speaker 2: we joke about in the episode and the tea shirts,
• 30:09
Speaker 2: but that's the least of it. They keep track of
• 30:12
Speaker 2: how much the doctor is prescribing the drug, and if
• 30:15
Speaker 2: you prescribe it a certain amount, they like can win
• 30:18
Speaker 2: vacations and trips, and they take them to lunch and
• 30:22
Speaker 2: they buy them expensive just like this dinner that's in
• 30:24
Speaker 2: this episode, and they they schmooze the nurses too, so
• 30:28
Speaker 2: they like, oh, I brought sushi, I brought cupcakes, and
• 30:32
Speaker 2: it's all this like it's like, Paola, it's like this
• 30:34
Speaker 2: super shady aspect of the pharmaceutical world. Not that there
• 30:38
Speaker 2: needs to be more shady aspects, but it's something that
• 30:42
Speaker 2: really really happens, and it's really really fucked up, I
• 30:45
Speaker 2: think because they're basically like incentivizing the doctors to prescribe
• 30:51
Speaker 2: their drug or recommend it right.
• 30:54
  Speaker 3: Well.
• 30:55
Speaker 1: In this episode, this drug that she's pushing actually works
• 30:58
Speaker 1: very well. The only problem that Cox has with it
• 31:01
Speaker 1: is that they've marked it up so high. It's sort
• 31:03
Speaker 1: of like epipins. Epipins work great everybody. If you have
• 31:09
Speaker 1: allergies to anything and you can and you go into
• 31:11
Speaker 1: anaphylactic shock because of your allergies or because of said allergies,
• 31:16
Speaker 1: an EpiPen can help save your life. The problem with
• 31:21
Speaker 1: EpiPens are they're so expensive, and even the generic brand
• 31:27
Speaker 1: is so expensive and very hard to come by.
• 31:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, of course, and the marking up of
• 31:33
Speaker 2: drugs is a whole other thing. You can That's why
• 31:36
Speaker 2: people drive across the border to go to Canada where
• 31:38
Speaker 2: they don't mark the drugs up like that. And I
• 31:40
Speaker 2: mean they have, like literally have bus trips where they'll
• 31:44
Speaker 2: where a bunch of seniors will get on a bus
• 31:47
Speaker 2: and go to Canada to buy their drugs for a
• 31:49
Speaker 2: more affordable price and then come back to this country.
• 31:52
Speaker 2: But let's not go around a giant tangent like that,
• 31:55
Speaker 2: because we can make a whole podcast about how fucked
• 31:57
Speaker 2: up that shit is. But anyway, this app episode is
• 32:00
Speaker 2: about a pharmaceutical rep coming to bribe everyone with pens
• 32:04
Speaker 2: and swag and free steak.
• 32:07
Speaker 3: All sexiness and sexiness and.
• 32:09
Speaker 2: Of course sexiness, which is something that is a part
• 32:12
Speaker 2: of it. I mean, I imagine in my brain some
• 32:15
Speaker 2: of this has been curbed. But back in the day,
• 32:17
Speaker 2: it was all about like flirting. I mean, all the
• 32:19
Speaker 2: girls that I knew that did this were attractive women,
• 32:23
Speaker 2: and they would say, yeah, part of it is like,
• 32:25
Speaker 2: you know, gentle flirting to get the doctors to uh,
• 32:29
Speaker 2: to prescribe their drugs. And then they would have this
• 32:32
Speaker 2: girl once showed me. She's like, you don't believe the
• 32:34
Speaker 2: data we have on these on these doctors, like what
• 32:36
Speaker 2: they're prescribing, how many times they prescribed our drug when
• 32:39
Speaker 2: they didn't prescribe our drug and uh, and they get
• 32:42
Speaker 2: her they do all this sort of shady stuff, like
• 32:45
Speaker 2: they put them certain doctors on retainer. Oh, you're a
• 32:48
Speaker 2: consultant with our pharmaceutical company, which is basically just fucking
• 32:52
Speaker 2: shady Paola, to make sure they're prescribing it. And when
• 32:56
Speaker 2: it's not a when it's not an addictive drug, it's like, okay,
• 32:59
Speaker 2: that's one little shady now cut to it when it's
• 33:01
Speaker 2: an opioid and they're fucking prescribing oxy conton and making
• 33:04
Speaker 2: everyone addicts. I highly recommend this book called Dope Sick
• 33:08
Speaker 2: if you want to read about this. It's about how
• 33:11
Speaker 2: the pharmacy industry, particularly Purdue Pharma, got into basically turning
• 33:17
Speaker 2: in so many people into opioid addicts because of the
• 33:21
Speaker 2: over prescription of oxyconton. And I just finished this book
• 33:24
Speaker 2: and it's amazing, and I think Michael Keaton is going
• 33:26
Speaker 2: to make it into a mini series. But don't wait
• 33:30
Speaker 2: for that. Read the book Dope Sick.
• 33:32
Speaker 1: The episode starts off with people getting hurt. This kid's
• 33:35
Speaker 1: gotten hurt, got hurt, and you watched him get hurt
• 33:38
  Speaker 1: on video.
• 33:39
Speaker 2: Yes, I gotta be honest with you.
• 33:41
Speaker 1: I watch a lot of crazy shit because I enjoy
• 33:43
Speaker 1: watching people get hurt. But then it turns, it turns,
• 33:47
Speaker 1: you know sometimes like sometimes it's like, wow, that was funny.
• 33:50
Speaker 1: He fell and hurt himself, he busted his ass. But
• 33:52
Speaker 1: then the things that you can see on the internet
• 33:55
Speaker 1: on like Instagram, now some of these things you're like,
• 33:57
Speaker 1: I don't want to watch that, you know what I mean?
• 34:00
Speaker 3: This is harmless. Him crushing his nuts on a rail.
• 34:03
Speaker 2: Do you do you WinCE when you watch someone get
• 34:06
  Speaker 2: their nuts hurt?
• 34:06
Speaker 1: I feel a pain in my in my in my
• 34:08
Speaker 1: in my genitals. Whenever I see anyone get hurt. It's
• 34:11
  Speaker 1: like a It's a quick pain.
• 34:13
Speaker 2: I don't know if women understand this, And not to
• 34:16
Speaker 2: say that it doesn't hurt when they hurt their groins,
• 34:18
Speaker 2: but but men have a physical just reaction when you
• 34:23
Speaker 2: see someone hurt their nuts where you you kind I
• 34:26
Speaker 2: kind of grab mine if I'm alone and I'm allowed to,
• 34:29
Speaker 2: and just make sure that they're okay.
• 34:31
Speaker 1: No, I I have this happens to me if I
• 34:33
Speaker 1: see anyone get hurt. Ever, dude, ever, if anyone I'm.
• 34:36
Speaker 2: Talking particularly a testicle moment like this at Tennis episode
• 34:40
  Speaker 2: he's he lands on a on a railing's skateboarding and
• 34:44
Speaker 2: he lands on the railing on his nuts.
• 34:46
Speaker 3: It depends on how to watch.
• 34:48
Speaker 1: It depends on how unsuspected it is, you know what
• 34:51
Speaker 1: I mean, Like we knew watching this that the kid's
• 34:53
Speaker 1: gonna crush his nuts, so I didn't necessarily flinch as
• 34:57
Speaker 1: hard as if I were watching something and out of nowhere,
• 35:00
Speaker 1: somebody gets pummeled in the in the in the balls.
• 35:03
Speaker 1: That's when I'm like, oh my god, and I and
• 35:06
Speaker 1: I flinch and I feel that sharp pain in my
• 35:09
  Speaker 1: testes from it.
• 35:10
  Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I I I crutched. I clutched my balls.
• 35:13
Speaker 2: When I saw this kid fall over and over and over.
• 35:15
Speaker 3: Again, I thought that she was hilarious.
• 35:17
Speaker 2: Now when she walks in and does her slow motion
• 35:20
Speaker 2: sexy walking, you cut to a fantasy and it's me
• 35:24
Speaker 2: and Deontay Gordon, who's Donald stand and who's often in
• 35:27
Speaker 2: the background, is next to me, and he's wearing puka shells.
• 35:31
Speaker 3: Did you notice that I did. Do you remember when
• 35:33
Speaker 3: Deontay used to wear poka shells?
• 35:35
  Speaker 2: No, but that's hilarious. I mean, I haven't seen someone
• 35:38
Speaker 2: wear pooka shells since I was a child, and I
• 35:40
Speaker 2: didn't really notice that Deontay was walking around the scrub
• 35:42
Speaker 2: set we're wearing puka shells.
• 35:43
Speaker 3: This was also twenty years ago, Bud, but.
• 35:45
Speaker 2: Still pooka shells were not in in two thousand and two.
• 35:49
Speaker 3: I'm sure they were, because no, they were not.
• 35:52
Speaker 2: No. I think it is like.
• 35:53
Speaker 3: A choker too. It's not like it's choking him.
• 35:57
Speaker 2: It's like you know what you know, like the women
• 35:58
Speaker 2: have this style a few years ago where they're all
• 36:01
Speaker 2: wearing the tight chokers around their neck.
• 36:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, what was the purpose of that? Can we what was?
• 36:05
  Speaker 2: What was?
• 36:06
Speaker 5: Hookers look awesome? There's no they look awesome.
• 36:10
Speaker 6: All the time in Victorian times when they were hitting
• 36:12
Speaker 6: in the eighties and the nineties.
• 36:14
  Speaker 5: Now chokers, I don't know.
• 36:16
Speaker 3: It just looks weird to have a black ribbon around
• 36:19
  Speaker 3: your neck.
• 36:20
Speaker 5: Are you ready to fall off? Take them off?
• 36:23
Speaker 2: Well they're gone again, Joel. Right, the fad was strong
• 36:26
Speaker 2: for a couple of years. Now I feel like it's
• 36:27
  Speaker 2: gone again.
• 36:28
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 36:28
Speaker 6: The punk princesses are colder on strong. I love them
• 36:32
Speaker 6: rock on girls. Uh yeah, not seeing it on like
• 36:35
Speaker 6: Vogue anymore or anything like that though.
• 36:37
  Speaker 13: No.
• 36:37
Speaker 6: And I would say Poka Shells, yes, early two thousands
• 36:40
Speaker 6: because the OC was around and those.
• 36:43
Speaker 2: Oh maybe Deontay was inspired by the OC.
• 36:47
Speaker 1: Deontays from California. Deontay went to school in OC type
• 36:53
Speaker 1: of high school entire situation. Yeah, man, so he wanted
• 36:57
Speaker 1: to be and then he went to I think Deontay
• 36:59
Speaker 1: went to like uc Anna Barbera or something like that.
• 37:01
Speaker 1: One of the party schools. You see one of those
• 37:03
Speaker 1: you see party schools.
• 37:06
Speaker 2: Well, all I know is it's a very funny sight
• 37:08
Speaker 2: watching Deontay wearing a Pukas Shell choker.
• 37:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, hilarious. And then the corpse sitting up because of
• 37:15
  Speaker 3: how hot Heather.
• 37:17
Speaker 2: That was funny, and she rubs his she rubs his
• 37:19
Speaker 2: head through the body bag and then I give a
• 37:23
  Speaker 2: little like that's a gift. I see a lot. Is
• 37:25
Speaker 2: that moment where where she like blows a kiss and
• 37:28
  Speaker 2: I do a little I do a little like kiss
• 37:31
  Speaker 2: to her.
• 37:31
Speaker 3: Is that a? Is that a? Is that a?
• 37:33
Speaker 2: Yeah? I'm gonna send you that gift after we get
• 37:35
Speaker 2: off the podcast. It's a funny one. But yeah, so
• 37:39
Speaker 2: Deontay and Puka Shell's his face is really funny too.
• 37:42
Speaker 2: If you guys are watching this, go to go around
• 37:46
Speaker 2: two o six and you'll see this moment. It's really
• 37:48
  Speaker 2: really funny.
• 37:49
Speaker 3: And then threesome talk.
• 37:51
Speaker 2: Carla is very into a threesome if it's with Heather Locklear, right,
• 37:57
Speaker 2: but she's kind of talking smack because she doesn't know
• 38:00
Speaker 2: that you're going to go and try and she says
• 38:02
Speaker 2: she's like, oh, you know, yeah, it's with someone like her,
• 38:05
Speaker 2: I'll do it. And then she doesn't know that you're like,
• 38:07
Speaker 2: ew when you go try and you gotta try and
• 38:09
Speaker 2: chat Heather up right. The new title sequences back, and
• 38:13
Speaker 2: I saw on wiki scrubs wiki that it's the last
• 38:16
Speaker 2: time it's ever seen, So for those of you who
• 38:19
Speaker 2: love it and liked it, this is the last episode
• 38:23
Speaker 2: it's ever seen, and then it's retired forever.
• 38:27
Speaker 1: I thought that there's another change to the title at
• 38:30
Speaker 1: some point where it just goes Superman, I'm no Superman.
• 38:34
Speaker 2: Yeah. Eventually, what happens every season, they kept cutting the
• 38:37
Speaker 2: amount of showback to put in more advertiser time, and
• 38:41
Speaker 2: so then it became like, well, we don't have time
• 38:43
Speaker 2: for all of this whole title sequence. So then it
• 38:45
Speaker 2: was just like I'm no Superman.
• 38:48
Speaker 3: And that was it.
• 38:49
Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, Actually, another thing I read on scrubs Wiki, interestingly,
• 38:53
Speaker 2: was that this episode when it first aired was a
• 38:55
Speaker 2: super sized one, so it was ten minutes longer. Remember
• 38:58
Speaker 2: the NBC at the time was doing super sized episodes.
• 39:01
Speaker 3: Right, so they still do that.
• 39:03
Speaker 2: Well, there's ten minutes of the show that aren't on
• 39:06
Speaker 2: the one I watched that were on when it aired,
• 39:08
Speaker 2: so god knows what those ten minutes were.
• 39:10
Speaker 3: Oh, so there's show missing.
• 39:13
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean I watched it on iTunes. You
• 39:15
Speaker 2: watched on Hulu. Yeah, well it was. If it was
• 39:18
Speaker 2: I think it was twenty four minutes or something. But
• 39:20
Speaker 2: but there's a thirty four minute version of this episode somewhere.
• 39:24
Speaker 2: I wonder if that's on the DVDs or not. Probably
• 39:27
  Speaker 2: is that, I don't know. I like when I try
• 39:29
Speaker 2: and hit on her at three thirty three, I'm like,
• 39:32
Speaker 2: she goes, I'm Julie. I go, were you named after
• 39:34
Speaker 2: a jewel? E? He's so bad at hitting on women,
• 39:41
  Speaker 2: this guy.
• 39:42
  Speaker 3: Yeah, well he's a you know, he's a.
• 39:45
  Speaker 2: Nerd.
• 39:45
Speaker 1: He's yeah, he's this is the it's so charming though,
• 39:50
Speaker 1: you know, a front nerd.
• 39:51
Speaker 2: He does get some pretty amazing women.
• 39:53
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's so charming.
• 39:54
  Speaker 2: He's charming. He's a charming he's charming, and he's a
• 39:56
Speaker 2: doctor and he's goofy.
• 40:01
Speaker 3: I'd like to double her and Tandre.
• 40:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, but again in the spirit of flirting, she's like,
• 40:06
Speaker 2: come grab a pen and they're like all right above
• 40:09
Speaker 2: her breast. Yeah, you know, it's all about like, you know,
• 40:12
Speaker 2: one by one, she's worked. She works Kelso, she works
• 40:15
Speaker 2: doctor Cox, she's working.
• 40:17
  Speaker 3: She works.
• 40:17
Speaker 2: You with the steak that you eat makes you sick works?
• 40:21
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 40:21
Speaker 1: Oh man, have you ever had a turf and turf night?
• 40:26
Speaker 1: We go steak night? We used to go steak night
• 40:27
  Speaker 1: all the time.
• 40:29
Speaker 2: We used to legitimately go steak night. But now I'm
• 40:31
  Speaker 2: a pescatarian.
• 40:33
Speaker 1: But this is where steak Knight. This is where steak
• 40:35
Speaker 1: Knight kind of started. This is where we learned turk
• 40:37
  Speaker 1: loves steak.
• 40:38
Speaker 2: Yes, you really love steak. Turf and turf.
• 40:41
Speaker 3: Turf and turf? Do you know to this episode?
• 40:44
Speaker 1: I had no idea what surf and turf mint?
• 40:47
Speaker 2: That's when you have a lobster with you? Or does
• 40:49
Speaker 2: it any fish or just lobster?
• 40:51
Speaker 3: I believe it's any any fish, anything in the sea.
• 40:54
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 40:55
Speaker 3: And then does that mean it could be any food
• 40:57
  Speaker 3: that eats grass?
• 41:00
Speaker 2: Good question. I assumed it was always a steak.
• 41:03
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 41:03
Speaker 2: I grew up kosher, so I never had lobster and
• 41:06
Speaker 2: and and stuff like that shellfish until I was like
• 41:09
Speaker 2: fourteen fifteen years old.
• 41:12
Speaker 1: Do you want to tell them that story? Which one
• 41:15
Speaker 1: after your bought mitzvah?
• 41:17
Speaker 2: Oh my bar mitzvah, uh bot mitzvahs for a girl
• 41:20
Speaker 2: bar mitzvah. Well, my father made us kosher when we
• 41:23
Speaker 2: were kids. And after my bar mitzvah, after I successfully
• 41:27
Speaker 2: uh became a man in the eyes of the Jewish
• 41:30
Speaker 2: faith my dad. I said to my father like, well,
• 41:33
  Speaker 2: if I'm a man, I I really don't want to
• 41:37
Speaker 2: be kosher anymore, and I'd like to make that decision
• 41:39
Speaker 2: for myself. And he was kind of his mind was
• 41:43
Speaker 2: kind of blown, like I Jedi mind trigged him and
• 41:45
Speaker 2: he was like okay, and I was like, I couldn't believe
• 41:48
Speaker 2: it worked. Uh. And then from that moment on, I
• 41:52
Speaker 2: was no longer kosher. But he said outside of the house,
• 41:55
  Speaker 2: because like.
• 41:56
Speaker 1: I would be to say, there was no way you
• 41:58
Speaker 1: were bringing like a lobster home for the supermarket.
• 42:00
Speaker 2: No no. If I just sit down on the table
• 42:04
Speaker 2: started eating like a baky double cheese.
• 42:07
Speaker 3: You guys eat your food.
• 42:08
Speaker 2: No, no, no no. But his rule was outside of
• 42:12
Speaker 2: the house, you can eat whatever you want. Also, my
• 42:14
Speaker 2: parents had gotten divorced and my mom was now you know,
• 42:17
Speaker 2: living with my stepfather and they weren't kosher. So it
• 42:20
Speaker 2: was a confusing time for for us as kids, Like
• 42:23
Speaker 2: come on, guys, you guys got to get on a
• 42:25
Speaker 2: unified front here, like what the hell are we allowed
• 42:27
Speaker 2: to eat? You know, and and so that's kind of
• 42:30
Speaker 2: part of it too. You know, we never we never
• 42:33
Speaker 2: had any kind of shellfish or any pork or any
• 42:36
Speaker 2: dairy mixed with meat. And then it was such a
• 42:41
Speaker 2: bizarre rule like if you, let's say, you had meat
• 42:44
Speaker 2: for dinner, you would have to wait an hour till
• 42:47
Speaker 2: you could have ice cream. Why that's part of being
• 42:51
Speaker 2: the kosher rules, Like.
• 42:53
Speaker 3: There is there a specific reason on why that's.
• 42:56
Speaker 2: Well, back in the day it was it was theory
• 42:58
Speaker 2: about health and eating things that wouldn't make you sick,
• 43:01
Speaker 2: you know, back in like biblical times. But now it's
• 43:05
Speaker 2: just tradition. So you know, you always was like sitting
• 43:08
Speaker 2: there being like, oh my God, how long has it been?
• 43:10
Speaker 2: Forty five minutes? Do you think God? Do you think
• 43:13
Speaker 2: God is going to be pissed if I have the
• 43:15
Speaker 2: ice cream? Like fifteen early? But you know, it's just
• 43:19
  Speaker 2: like any you.
• 43:20
Speaker 3: Say shit like that when you were a kid to
• 43:21
  Speaker 3: your parents.
• 43:22
Speaker 2: No, I mean, are you kidding me? I was afraid
• 43:24
Speaker 2: of my dad. I wasn't saying anything like that, but
• 43:25
Speaker 2: I mean, I in my mind, I was thinking like
• 43:28
Speaker 2: this is crazy. Even as a kid, like, this is crazy.
• 43:31
Speaker 2: God does not care about this. That's how I felt.
• 43:35
  Speaker 2: That's how I felt.
• 43:36
Speaker 1: Donald right, so good, So let's go back to I'd
• 43:40
Speaker 1: like to double her on Tondra.
• 43:43
Speaker 2: Yeah, Todd, Yeah, I'd like to double her on Tndra.
• 43:47
Speaker 1: That might be I still use that shit to this day.
• 43:50
Speaker 1: It's a double on Tondre. I'd like to double her on.
• 43:53
Speaker 2: It's not as good as are you going to turn
• 43:55
Speaker 2: everything into sexual innuendo in your endo in your windo? Yeah,
• 44:03
Speaker 2: that Todd is pretty funny in this episode, although it's
• 44:05
Speaker 2: a little creepy that he's planning to hide out and
• 44:07
Speaker 2: watch you have sex with Judy.
• 44:09
Speaker 1: No, he was in the breakroom. He was in the
• 44:11
Speaker 1: room sleeping already. He wasn't hiding out, he was already
• 44:14
  Speaker 1: in there.
• 44:14
Speaker 2: Oh, I was under the impression that he was. He
• 44:16
Speaker 2: was like, he was like he figured out that you
• 44:19
Speaker 2: guys were gonna have sex, and so he was like
• 44:21
Speaker 2: hanging out in the top bunk.
• 44:23
Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, he went into that. He went
• 44:26
Speaker 1: in there to be the Todd and do whatever the time.
• 44:30
Speaker 1: That's a good ask, Rob question, how come how come
• 44:33
Speaker 1: the Todd is always in the breakroom when something something's
• 44:38
Speaker 1: about to when something something's about to jump off.
• 44:40
Speaker 2: That Todd does take a lot of naps, I have
• 44:42
Speaker 2: to say he does. Right there. There's an episode where
• 44:46
Speaker 2: Todd says, sometimes when I'm banging this mattress, I'm thinking
• 44:49
Speaker 2: about banging that one the one underneath. So we know
• 44:52
Speaker 2: that Todd likes to hump the mattresses in the breakroom, right,
• 44:56
Speaker 2: So I think we should ask Rob why is Todd
• 45:00
Speaker 2: always in the breakroom alone?
• 45:01
Speaker 14: Well, between all the surgical enhancements and rejuvenations, the Todd
• 45:05
Speaker 14: needs a little cat napp to cut down on recovery
• 45:09
Speaker 14: time between operating sessions. I've been told I'm a bit
• 45:12
Speaker 14: of a sleep humper. Though, sometimes when I'm banging the
• 45:15
Speaker 14: top mattress, I'm thinking about banging the bottom one.
• 45:19
Speaker 2: Thank you, Thank you Rob, Thank you Rob. And just
• 45:21
Speaker 2: to give Rob a plug. If you guys want, you
• 45:24
Speaker 2: can hire them on Cameo, go on that app and
• 45:29
Speaker 2: you can you can have you can hire Rob to
• 45:31
Speaker 2: say anything pretty much yeah within reason right, and you
• 45:37
Speaker 2: can send your friends a Rob video of him saying
• 45:40
  Speaker 2: funny stuff.
• 45:42
Speaker 1: These are great ideas for birthday presence if you have
• 45:45
Speaker 1: friends that are die hard Scrubs fan and fans and
• 45:50
Speaker 1: love the Todd. Here's a way for you to get
• 45:54
Speaker 1: the Todd to deliver some sort of five and a
• 45:59
  Speaker 1: funny anecdote.
• 45:59
Speaker 2: So and and you know, I haven't really been on
• 46:01
Speaker 2: the cameo too much, but I like the idea of
• 46:03
Speaker 2: hiring people. I like to say funny things. Donald and
• 46:09
Speaker 2: I are not on there, but we want you to
• 46:10
Speaker 2: put all of your scrubs love in to Rob get
• 46:14
Speaker 2: robbed to say funny things. I think I might hire
• 46:16
Speaker 2: Rob to send you a message Donald, okay, yeah sure, yeah,
• 46:21
Speaker 2: So maybe with you, I should hire a basketball player
• 46:24
Speaker 2: because they have a lot of sports athletes on there,
• 46:26
Speaker 2: and I and I could get you one.
• 46:28
Speaker 1: If you could get anyone to send me a message,
• 46:30
Speaker 1: I would love a message from Tracy Morgan.
• 46:32
  Speaker 2: I don't know if he's I bet he's not a chemi.
• 46:34
Speaker 2: He's got a zillion dollars now, especially duds as a settlement.
• 46:37
Speaker 1: I'm bron if you could get Tracy Morgan to hit
• 46:39
Speaker 1: me up as Brian Fellows, you did it once in
• 46:42
  Speaker 1: your life.
• 46:43
Speaker 3: You had Tracy Morgan.
• 46:45
  Speaker 2: Oh that's right, I did.
• 46:47
Speaker 1: Because you know I'm a huge Tracy Morgan fan. Right,
• 46:50
Speaker 1: and you know how much. I love Brian fell I'm
• 46:52
  Speaker 1: Brian Fellows.
• 46:53
Speaker 2: Right, and it was just after.
• 46:56
Speaker 1: I think one of the best Tracy Morgan said Night
• 47:00
Speaker 1: Lives is when Britney Spears hosted.
• 47:05
Speaker 2: That made no sense, but it was so funny.
• 47:07
Speaker 1: But he's so funny on that episode Anyway, Rob Mashio's
• 47:11
Speaker 1: on cameo, guys, we're.
• 47:13
Speaker 2: Going to break let me right. Uh. I love how
• 47:22
Speaker 2: Rob seems to write out his thing. Like I thought
• 47:25
Speaker 2: he was just gonna, like, you know, just answer it,
• 47:28
Speaker 2: but it seems very prepared, and he writes them out
• 47:31
Speaker 2: and uh, he runs the line, He puts his time in,
• 47:34
Speaker 2: he runs his line.
• 47:35
  Speaker 3: Runs his line.
• 47:36
Speaker 6: Their guests here, Daniel, Yes, they are, yeah already Yeah,
• 47:42
  Speaker 6: bring in.
• 47:42
Speaker 2: The guests, Ladies and gentlemen.
• 47:45
Speaker 3: Give it up for devil. How are you man?
• 47:51
Speaker 10: I'm doing well? What about yourself?
• 47:54
Speaker 3: You know, making it happen like everybody else?
• 47:56
Speaker 2: Try killing chilling like a villain. Donald, Don't you say
• 47:58
  Speaker 2: that chilling?
• 48:00
Speaker 3: Ever say chilling like a villain? You fucking tool.
• 48:03
Speaker 2: Devin. Do you see how I'm addressed? Do you see
• 48:05
  Speaker 2: how I'm how I'm talking.
• 48:06
Speaker 1: To Well, you made the dumbest remark and said, do
• 48:08
Speaker 1: you say, chilling like a villain, Donald, what a buck.
• 48:11
Speaker 3: Says chilling like a villain?
• 48:12
Speaker 2: Devin? Do you follow sports in basketball in particular at all?
• 48:15
  Speaker 3: I do? Yes?
• 48:17
Speaker 2: And who's your favorite team?
• 48:18
  Speaker 10: I'm a Dallas Mavericks fan.
• 48:20
Speaker 1: Oh, say you're lucky man, you've won a ring. You
• 48:22
Speaker 1: guys stole Poisekas from us?
• 48:24
Speaker 3: Are you calling out? Are you? Are you coming from
• 48:26
Speaker 3: Dallas right now? Are you hitting us up from Dallas
• 48:28
Speaker 3: right now? I'm not.
• 48:28
Speaker 13: Actually, I'm one of those weird Dallas Mavericks fans. I'm
• 48:32
Speaker 13: originally from Pennsylvania and I'm in Virginia now. I became
• 48:35
Speaker 13: a Dallas Mavericks fan because Dirk I lost a bet
• 48:39
Speaker 13: in junior high school and so I had to take
• 48:41
Speaker 13: German as my foreign language and I ended up sticking
• 48:45
Speaker 13: with it and I majored in it in college. But
• 48:47
Speaker 13: my dad wasn't a big basketball fan. He was a
• 48:49
Speaker 13: big baseball guy, and so I kind of have free
• 48:53
Speaker 13: rain to pick my team. And I always loved picking,
• 48:56
Speaker 13: you know, underdogs, and the MAVs kind of had, you know,
• 49:00
Speaker 13: pretty good squads leading up to that championship team, but
• 49:03
Speaker 13: nothing fully came together up until twenty eleven. And so
• 49:08
Speaker 13: I picked Dirk and I Mark Cuban seems like a
• 49:12
  Speaker 13: pretty cool guy.
• 49:14
Speaker 10: Hard like a lot of what he's doing.
• 49:15
Speaker 2: I like Mark Cuban. Yeah, I don't know anything about sports,
• 49:18
Speaker 2: but I like Mark Cuban. Devin, do you have a
• 49:21
Speaker 2: question for us about anything? If he does not say
• 49:24
Speaker 2: about Scrubs, it could be about anything.
• 49:26
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 49:26
  Speaker 10: Absolutely, I prepared a couple.
• 49:29
Speaker 13: I'm lucky enough to know John Putch, who directed a
• 49:33
Speaker 13: couple of episodes I think starting at the tail end.
• 49:36
  Speaker 10: Of season five.
• 49:37
  Speaker 2: Yeah, great guy.
• 49:38
Speaker 13: He grew up in the same town I did, and
• 49:40
Speaker 13: frequent in the restaurant my mom owned. He actually filmed
• 49:44
Speaker 13: one of his movies partially in that restaurant, and I
• 49:47
Speaker 13: got to be an extra. So I got to meet
• 49:49
Speaker 13: him through that. And I know you both have talked
• 49:52
Speaker 13: a lot about what different directors brought, especially in the
• 49:56
Speaker 13: early couple of episodes episodes. So for someone like John,
• 50:00
Speaker 13: you know where end of season five, you guys, I
• 50:04
Speaker 13: think had already done one hundred and twenty ish episodes,
• 50:07
Speaker 13: give or take. What was it like, you know, coming
• 50:11
Speaker 13: in as a new director. How and you know, Zach
• 50:14
Speaker 13: you kind of you got to direct your own couple
• 50:16
Speaker 13: of episodes for a show that kind of had its voice,
• 50:20
Speaker 13: it had its style, how did you balance that.
• 50:23
Speaker 10: With your own personal styles?
• 50:27
Speaker 2: That's a good question. Someone like that is in a
• 50:29
Speaker 2: tough place because they're coming into a machine five seasons
• 50:32
Speaker 2: in that's so well oiled. You know, we really all
• 50:35
Speaker 2: we crank them out. You know, by the time you
• 50:37
Speaker 2: come to five seasons, everybody knows what they're doing, everybody
• 50:40
Speaker 2: knows their characters, and a director that's coming in brand new,
• 50:45
Speaker 2: they just got to make sure that they that they
• 50:47
Speaker 2: go with the flow that you still want to A
• 50:49
Speaker 2: director like John would still want to come in and
• 50:52
Speaker 2: add his own spin and add his own flare and
• 50:54
Speaker 2: come up with cool shots and have suggestions, but you
• 50:57
Speaker 2: don't want them coming in and trying to change the
• 50:59
Speaker 2: style at all and going in and doing something out
• 51:01
Speaker 2: of the norm. Well, someone like him would really have
• 51:04
Speaker 2: to know the show, really have watched a lot of episodes.
• 51:06
Speaker 2: A lot of times what they'll do is come and
• 51:08
Speaker 2: hang out on the set and watch somebody else direct,
• 51:10
Speaker 2: so they just kind of no only gives you a
• 51:12
Speaker 2: chance to meet everyone and kind of shoot the shit
• 51:13
Speaker 2: a bit, but also you get the sense of, like
• 51:16
  Speaker 2: everyone's vibe like, ooh, I see that Johnny c doesn't
• 51:19
Speaker 2: like to do more than that many takes. I'm gonna
• 51:20
Speaker 2: just make a mental note of that. And oh, I
• 51:23
Speaker 2: see that Donald never knows his lines. Okay, good, let
• 51:26
Speaker 2: me memorize that. So you kind of kind of come
• 51:28
Speaker 2: to the set and get the feel of everything. So
• 51:31
Speaker 2: then when you when you when you all of a sudden,
• 51:33
Speaker 2: because like I said before, it's such a bizarre job
• 51:35
Speaker 2: to be like, hey, everyone, nice to meet you. I
• 51:37
Speaker 2: know you guys have been working together for five years.
• 51:40
Speaker 2: I'm the boss this week.
• 51:41
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 51:41
Speaker 2: It's such a weird, a weird way to create stuff,
• 51:45
Speaker 2: but it is kind of how it works.
• 51:48
Speaker 1: A little trivia for you. Do you know who John
• 51:50
  Speaker 1: puchess mother is.
• 51:52
Speaker 2: John Puch's mother is Jeene Stapleton, who was Edith Bunker
• 51:57
Speaker 2: on the classic show All in the Family.
• 52:00
Speaker 5: Was What a Days and you knew who you were?
• 52:05
  Speaker 2: I can't hit that note.
• 52:07
  Speaker 3: And girls from.
• 52:11
Speaker 2: Happy Hoover again, Herbert Hoover again, I didn't know no
• 52:16
Speaker 2: more about everybody pulled his way. G r old lassal
• 52:21
Speaker 2: worked great. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, sorry for your ears.
• 52:31
Speaker 2: She was a fantastic actress and John Punch's mother. A
• 52:36
Speaker 2: little bit of trivia for you.
• 52:37
Speaker 1: I'll say this, when John came in, it felt like
• 52:39
Speaker 1: he was already. He really blended in very well with us. Yeah,
• 52:43
Speaker 1: and I think that's why he came back for.
• 52:45
Speaker 2: He was also very fast.
• 52:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, that was another thing he was. He was he
• 52:49
Speaker 1: totally like he got the show and he got us. Also, Zach,
• 52:54
Speaker 1: have you have you guys ever worked together other than.
• 52:58
Speaker 2: We text sometimes and we shoot the shit. He listens
• 53:00
Speaker 2: to the podcast, So, Hi, John, thank you for listening
• 53:03
Speaker 2: to John. And we'll have him on. I told him
• 53:05
Speaker 2: we'll have him on when the when the time comes,
• 53:07
Speaker 2: I would love to have him if we really keep
• 53:09
Speaker 2: this thing going for five.
• 53:10
Speaker 1: He's directed so much television as well. We had Michael
• 53:13
Speaker 1: Spiller on who's directed quite a bit of television. John
• 53:16
Speaker 1: Putch is another person who is you know, yeah, who
• 53:20
Speaker 1: who is a well seasoned director.
• 53:22
  Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't know what he's directing now, I'll look
• 53:24
  Speaker 2: it up.
• 53:25
Speaker 3: Well, nobody's directing anything right now.
• 53:26
Speaker 2: Well, I'm saying pre Quaran Tizzle.
• 53:30
Speaker 10: He's doing some I think it was American Housewife, I believe.
• 53:33
Speaker 3: Oh great, Yeah. Dietrich Bader that guy.
• 53:36
Speaker 2: You have another question for us?
• 53:37
Speaker 13: Yeah, absolutely, So. I think Scrubs means a lot to
• 53:41
Speaker 13: me because it was one of the first times I
• 53:43
Speaker 13: saw a show reflect a part of me that isn't
• 53:47
Speaker 13: just very outward facing. I grew up and I had epilepsy,
• 53:53
Speaker 13: and there's an episode where doctor Cox treats a patient
• 53:56
Speaker 13: who has epilepsy, and I believe that the see is
• 54:00
Speaker 13: she doesn't want to take her medicine or isn't taking
• 54:03
Speaker 13: her medicine because she she struggles with letting the epilepsy
• 54:07
Speaker 13: define her and prevent her from being a normal teenage girl.
• 54:11
Speaker 13: And I was younger than her when I was dealing
• 54:13
Speaker 13: a lot with it. But it was the first time
• 54:16
Speaker 13: I really remember seeing a part of myself on a
• 54:19
Speaker 13: TV show and feeling like, wow, that's, you know, very
• 54:21
Speaker 13: core to my identity. So for for both of you,
• 54:25
Speaker 13: when was the first time you know, either of you
• 54:27
Speaker 13: saw yourself reflected in that way?
• 54:29
Speaker 2: If ever, good question you go first? Donald, Do you
• 54:35
Speaker 2: mean I mean you mean in television shows when we
• 54:37
Speaker 2: were growing up or is that what you mean?
• 54:39
  Speaker 3: Yeah?
• 54:39
Speaker 13: I mean it could be growing up, It could have
• 54:41
Speaker 13: you know, been a while, and it could be more
• 54:43
Speaker 13: present day whatever, well.
• 54:44
Speaker 3: I was, I looked at it.
• 54:45
Speaker 1: I looked at okay, so I look at it a
• 54:47
Speaker 1: little bit different. I didn't see myself in a lot
• 54:49
Speaker 1: of in a lot of television growing up, mainly because
• 54:53
Speaker 1: there weren't a lot of African American people on television.
• 54:55
Speaker 1: I mean, so seeing somebody who was like me was
• 55:02
Speaker 1: very hard to come by.
• 55:03
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 55:03
Speaker 1: People said I looked like Todd Bridges when I was
• 55:06
Speaker 1: a kid, but I had nothing in common really with
• 55:09
Speaker 1: what Willis and Arnold.
• 55:10
Speaker 3: Went through in different strokes.
• 55:13
Speaker 1: It wasn't until a different world came out and I
• 55:16
Speaker 1: was in I was. I guess it was my freshman
• 55:20
Speaker 1: year in high school and Dwayne Wayne, Dwayne Wayne came
• 55:25
Speaker 1: on television, played by Kadem Hardison, and he was the
• 55:28
Speaker 1: one that had the flip up glasses and he was
• 55:30
Speaker 1: so in love with Denise from The Cosby Show Lisa Bonnett.
• 55:33
Speaker 1: He was so in love with that character, and I
• 55:36
  Speaker 1: felt like, that's who I'm that guy's he had a
• 55:40
Speaker 1: bunch of energy. He was really charismatic, and girls looked
• 55:44
Speaker 1: at him not necessarily as the hot guy, they looked
• 55:47
Speaker 1: at him as the friend. And I was drawn to
• 55:53
Speaker 1: Dwayne Wayne, so and so that I bought the glasses.
• 55:57
Speaker 2: You did you wear the flip up? Guys?
• 55:58
Speaker 1: I would wear the flip up? Now, remember I went
• 56:00
Speaker 1: to the professional children's school. So there's me and maybe
• 56:04
Speaker 1: three other black kids and the four of the black
• 56:06
Speaker 1: kids in the school or in the upper school at
• 56:09
Speaker 1: the time, in the high school at the time, and so.
• 56:12
Speaker 2: Are you all wearing them?
• 56:13
  Speaker 6: You know?
• 56:14
Speaker 3: Well, I would wear the glasses.
• 56:16
Speaker 1: And I'm sure these guys were like this motherfucker came
• 56:18
Speaker 1: up in here with the fucking Dwayne Wayne.
• 56:21
  Speaker 2: It's a funnier story if they're all if you're all
• 56:23
Speaker 2: four of you walking around.
• 56:25
Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, So Dwayne Wayne Kadeem Hardison when he showed up,
• 56:30
Speaker 1: he had such an impact on my life because I
• 56:33
Speaker 1: felt like I was looking at myself that he was.
• 56:36
Speaker 1: At one point, he was one of my favorite actors
• 56:39
Speaker 1: in the world. So if he was in a movie
• 56:40
Speaker 1: like White Men Can't Jump, Vampire in Brooklyn School Days,
• 56:45
Speaker 1: the list goes on. He was in quite a few
• 56:48
Speaker 1: things when I was younger, I would gravitate towards his
• 56:52
Speaker 1: character as the best characters character in those projects.
• 56:57
Speaker 2: I was really drawn to Anthony Michael Hall. I was
• 56:59
Speaker 2: just thinking. You know, everything he played when he was
• 57:01
Speaker 2: young was how I felt. I felt like this sort
• 57:03
Speaker 2: of nerdy kid who you know, who could make people
• 57:07
Speaker 2: laugh and was you know, I made friends by being
• 57:10
Speaker 2: a class clown, you know, and so a lot of
• 57:14
Speaker 2: the parts, whether it was you know, Weird Science or
• 57:18
Speaker 2: sixteen Candles or Breakfast Club, I really related to him
• 57:22
Speaker 2: in those movies. I really wanted to be Ferris Bueller
• 57:26
Speaker 2: more than anything. Like when I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off,
• 57:28
Speaker 2: I was like, man, I wish I was that cool,
• 57:31
Speaker 2: Like I wanted to be Ferris and John cusack in
• 57:34
Speaker 2: say Anything, I wanted to be him.
• 57:36
Speaker 1: All of those movies are big parts of my are
• 57:39
Speaker 1: big parts of my youth. Yeah you say anything, freaking
• 57:43
Speaker 1: sixteen Candles, Weird Science, you know, the list goes on.
• 57:50
Speaker 3: All those John Hughes movies were huge for me.
• 57:54
Speaker 1: The only problem I had with them was that there
• 57:56
Speaker 1: were no black people in it, right, you know what
• 57:58
Speaker 1: I mean? But those movies like you know a lot
• 58:03
Speaker 1: of the music that a lot of the songs, I
• 58:05
Speaker 1: didn't even know all of the words to the songs,
• 58:07
Speaker 1: but I knew, you know, when Lloyd did you should
• 58:10
Speaker 1: uh what's what's the song that he did?
• 58:13
Speaker 3: Stop? Wait a minute, I knew, yeah, is that what
• 58:17
  Speaker 3: that is?
• 58:18
Speaker 1: You should let me know. No, that's a little that's
• 58:20
Speaker 1: a Mario. These just step and these just ain't words
• 58:24
  Speaker 1: that I'm spinning.
• 58:26
Speaker 3: I knew that he sampled. Uh, Papa, I know this
• 58:35
Speaker 3: must be true right now much is true?
• 58:39
Speaker 11: And he goes ba ba, she's fun b ah want
• 58:49
Speaker 11: you and I and nobody knew what that ship was from.
• 58:53
Speaker 11: But because of my love of all of these John
• 58:55
Speaker 11: Hughes movies and stuff, I knew where they simple.
• 59:01
Speaker 5: Huh, it's called you. It's from two thousand and six.
• 59:06
Speaker 1: Another one, another one, Jake, Uh, do you have another one?
• 59:17
Speaker 1: Do you have another one?
• 59:18
  Speaker 2: Another one?
• 59:19
  Speaker 3: Another one?
• 59:20
Speaker 13: I do have another one. So Zach got a lot
• 59:25
Speaker 13: of flak for having not seen Remember the Titans up
• 59:28
Speaker 13: until a couple of weeks ago. So I've been thinking
• 59:31
Speaker 13: a lot about some of Zach's filmography. Don I know
• 59:36
Speaker 13: you have some kids. Have you seen Chicken Little?
• 59:39
  Speaker 2: Yes?
• 59:40
Speaker 10: Okay, I went, did you really?
• 59:44
Speaker 2: A lot of people will be surprised, devon. They don't
• 59:46
Speaker 2: know that I'm the voice of Chicken Little.
• 59:49
  Speaker 3: Here's the thing.
• 59:49
Speaker 1: Here's the thing, Devin, you can name pretty much any
• 59:52
Speaker 1: movie Zach's been in.
• 59:53
  Speaker 3: I've seen it.
• 59:54
  Speaker 2: That's not true.
• 59:56
Speaker 3: Okay, what's the one you did with Michael Weston?
• 59:59
Speaker 2: And uh the Last Kiss? You like that one?
• 1:00:03
Speaker 1: No, there's another one that you two did together, way
• 1:00:04
  Speaker 1: before you were.
• 1:00:05
Speaker 2: Ever getting to know you.
• 1:00:08
Speaker 1: Who was the other? Who was the Yes, she was
• 1:00:11
Speaker 1: in that? I've seen that movie.
• 1:00:13
  Speaker 10: Uh?
• 1:00:14
Speaker 1: He also he also did a movie called The Broken
• 1:00:16
  Speaker 1: Hearts Club.
• 1:00:17
Speaker 2: Yep, broken heart in that movie?
• 1:00:19
  Speaker 3: Seen that movie?
• 1:00:21
Speaker 1: He also did? Uh like we could go down his
• 1:00:24
  Speaker 1: whole resume. I promise you, I've seen everything. I didn't
• 1:00:28
Speaker 1: read Garden State, but I'm not a strong reader.
• 1:00:30
  Speaker 3: I did read. I did, I did, I did.
• 1:00:34
Speaker 2: Did you see Going in Style?
• 1:00:37
Speaker 3: What? Yes, I've seen.
• 1:00:39
Speaker 2: You didn't watch Going in Style?
• 1:00:40
Speaker 1: For real, I've watched go I've now watched Going in Style.
• 1:00:43
Speaker 1: I did not see it in the theaters though.
• 1:00:44
Speaker 2: Oh that's fucked up, dude, No it's not.
• 1:00:46
Speaker 3: It's the truth. Though.
• 1:00:47
Speaker 2: My first big studio movie I directed and you didn't
• 1:00:49
  Speaker 2: go see it.
• 1:00:50
Speaker 1: No, your first big movie you directed was Garden State.
• 1:00:53
Speaker 2: No, I'm saying my first it was my first and
• 1:00:55
Speaker 2: only so far studio movie I've directed it, and I
• 1:00:57
Speaker 2: directed these three living legends. You couldn't fucking find the
• 1:01:00
Speaker 2: time to go to the theater.
• 1:01:02
Speaker 3: See this is what I'm talking about, Devin.
• 1:01:04
Speaker 2: You just started some fucking beef.
• 1:01:06
Speaker 3: I've seen the movie though, because.
• 1:01:08
Speaker 2: You fucking rented it. I mean, if you're if you're
• 1:01:10
Speaker 2: my best friend, you're still taking the cad.
• 1:01:12
Speaker 3: Do you want me to start naming my movies and
• 1:01:15
  Speaker 3: what movies you?
• 1:01:16
  Speaker 4: I know?
• 1:01:16
  Speaker 2: Your movie?
• 1:01:17
Speaker 1: To shut the fuck up with this crap, dude, nobody
• 1:01:20
Speaker 1: wants to hear I'm blowing out the mic. That's how
• 1:01:22
Speaker 1: loud I'm getting right now. Let me turn it down
• 1:01:24
Speaker 1: a little bit. Do you want to start this ship?
• 1:01:26
Speaker 1: Do you really want to start this ship? Do you
• 1:01:28
Speaker 1: want to start this shit about how I'm not seen
• 1:01:30
Speaker 1: going in style in theaters. I can name movie after
• 1:01:33
Speaker 1: movie after movie that I've been in that you've never seen.
• 1:01:36
  Speaker 5: In your life.
• 1:01:37
Speaker 2: I've seen them. I saw Juice in the theater. No
• 1:01:40
Speaker 2: you did it, Yes, I.
• 1:01:42
Speaker 3: You did it. You did not see Juice in the theater.
• 1:01:44
Speaker 2: I did. I did, although it's cheating. It was in
• 1:01:46
Speaker 2: a screening room at the drawback of Film Center. I
• 1:01:48
Speaker 2: was an intern there and they invited me to see Juice,
• 1:01:51
Speaker 2: and I quite liked it.
• 1:01:55
Speaker 1: You're full of shit, dude. You know I know you're
• 1:01:57
Speaker 1: full of shit. I was in high school. I was
• 1:01:59
Speaker 1: a freshman. I was ninth grade when Juice came out.
• 1:02:04
Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
• 1:02:05
Speaker 3: I shut the fuck up.
• 1:02:07
Speaker 2: Can I defend myself? I was thinking. I was thinking
• 1:02:10
Speaker 2: of Fresh? Are you in Fresh?
• 1:02:12
Speaker 3: I'm not in Fresh?
• 1:02:13
Speaker 2: Oh? Fresh is good? Have you guys seen Fresh? It's
• 1:02:19
Speaker 2: a very underrated movie.
• 1:02:20
Speaker 3: Dude, Fresh is very good?
• 1:02:21
Speaker 1: Directed well as Yaquin, who also directed Remember the Titans?
• 1:02:25
Speaker 2: Have you never seen that? Joelle? Have you seen Fresh?
• 1:02:29
Speaker 2: Very good? I want our listeners to go.
• 1:02:31
Speaker 1: Directed by bo As Yaquin, who also directed Remember the Titans?
• 1:02:35
Speaker 2: Now? Is that bo as his first film? I think
• 1:02:37
Speaker 2: it may have been.
• 1:02:38
Speaker 3: I think Price Above Rubies was his first. It's one
• 1:02:40
Speaker 3: of those. It's either that one of I think one
• 1:02:42
  Speaker 3: of those.
• 1:02:43
  Speaker 2: He's really a talented guy.
• 1:02:45
  Speaker 3: He's very talented.
• 1:02:46
Speaker 2: What has he made lately? Has he made anything lately?
• 1:02:48
Speaker 1: That He's written a lot of the Hostels, He wrote
• 1:02:50
Speaker 1: a lot of The Dusk Till Dawns Like.
• 1:02:52
Speaker 2: He He's changed up a little bit here.
• 1:02:55
Speaker 3: He switched it up a little bit. He's more comic book.
• 1:02:57
Speaker 2: Uh got it? Horror Now, well, Devin, thank you for
• 1:03:00
Speaker 2: starting this fight. We've got to get sorry.
• 1:03:04
Speaker 3: I know you had good intentions and you were trying
• 1:03:05
Speaker 3: to make me. You were trying to throw me under
• 1:03:07
Speaker 3: the bus, you know what.
• 1:03:08
Speaker 1: I know what you were trying to do, but you
• 1:03:09
  Speaker 1: fucked up, Devin.
• 1:03:11
Speaker 2: Devin, I was I was gonna send you a message
• 1:03:14
Speaker 2: from from one of those guys, but now you don't
• 1:03:16
Speaker 2: get I don't even know what their names are, but
• 1:03:19
Speaker 2: you were gonna get one from from.
• 1:03:21
Speaker 3: No GTS Kombucha for you.
• 1:03:23
Speaker 2: No No GT's he's been he's been banned, all right,
• 1:03:25
Speaker 2: But thank you for coming on.
• 1:03:26
Speaker 10: We thank you so much.
• 1:03:31
Speaker 2: Donald. You know, want to laugh at this whole bit
• 1:03:33
Speaker 2: with you giving Judy a bus pass? Then I say
• 1:03:35
Speaker 2: that was very funny, did I say, not just a nurse?
• 1:03:42
  Speaker 7: Right?
• 1:03:43
Speaker 1: I love I love the fact that that's where Turk is.
• 1:03:46
Speaker 1: He's that invested in his relationship that he's like, I
• 1:03:50
Speaker 1: know my girlfriend could be doing so much better than
• 1:03:54
Speaker 1: she is right now, and if I'm in the way,
• 1:03:56
Speaker 1: I want to get out of the way and help
• 1:03:58
Speaker 1: her achieve what it is that she wants to achieve,
• 1:04:02
Speaker 1: and you know, being Turk, he just says it wrong.
• 1:04:05
Speaker 1: You know, I don't want you. I want you to
• 1:04:07
Speaker 1: feel like more than just a nurse, just a nurse.
• 1:04:09
Speaker 1: Did I say just a nurse?
• 1:04:11
Speaker 2: Well, he means as well, he means well, but he
• 1:04:13
Speaker 2: keeps putting his foot in his mouth and she's like,
• 1:04:15
Speaker 2: you know, and she's saying, I love my job, I
• 1:04:17
Speaker 2: love what I do. Why why are people making I'm
• 1:04:20
Speaker 2: sure a lot of nurses, I would imagine, feel this,
• 1:04:22
Speaker 2: like it's such an honor to be a nurse. It's
• 1:04:25
Speaker 2: so hard to become a nurse. And someone's like saying,
• 1:04:28
Speaker 2: you know, it's something with the attitude of you're just
• 1:04:30
Speaker 2: a nurse. They're like, what, how fucking dare you? Do
• 1:04:32
Speaker 2: you see? You know, see Carla's like, do you see
• 1:04:34
Speaker 2: the pride that I have in what I do?
• 1:04:36
  Speaker 3: Right?
• 1:04:36
Speaker 2: And I really liked that. I thought she was she
• 1:04:39
Speaker 2: was really good in this episode.
• 1:04:40
Speaker 3: Oh she crushes well she you know, Judy crushes every episode.
• 1:04:44
  Speaker 7: Uh.
• 1:04:45
Speaker 1: Elliot acknowledges JD's staring off into space.
• 1:04:49
  Speaker 2: Yeah, she did.
• 1:04:50
  Speaker 3: This episode.
• 1:04:50
Speaker 2: There's a funny moment where she says, you're always starting
• 1:04:53
Speaker 2: off to space. And I start to and then I go,
• 1:04:55
Speaker 2: I don't stare off in the space like this, and
• 1:04:56
Speaker 2: then I go right into staring off in the space.
• 1:04:58
  Speaker 3: That was fun.
• 1:04:59
  Speaker 1: Yeah, that's but uh yeah, I mean I don't how
• 1:05:04
Speaker 1: does how does one get away with daydreaming in front
• 1:05:07
Speaker 1: of someone when they're talking like you're doing well.
• 1:05:10
Speaker 2: It's exaggerated for this show, but you know we were
• 1:05:12
Speaker 2: all doing that. How many times you talking to someone
• 1:05:14
Speaker 2: you see them staring off and and and then you
• 1:05:16
Speaker 2: go hello, like you kind of wave your hand in
• 1:05:18
Speaker 2: front of their face, like I mean, I.
• 1:05:19
Speaker 1: Do it to my wife all the time, where my
• 1:05:21
Speaker 1: wife is talking to me and I'm just not there.
• 1:05:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, and she'll be like, did you hear what I said?
• 1:05:24
Speaker 3: And I'll be like yeah.
• 1:05:25
Speaker 1: She'll be like, repeat what I said, and not just
• 1:05:26
Speaker 1: repeat what the last thing I remember her.
• 1:05:28
Speaker 2: Saying, right, but you were still zoned out.
• 1:05:30
Speaker 3: I was not there listening.
• 1:05:32
Speaker 2: I laughed out loud when Kelso goes, it's not because
• 1:05:35
Speaker 2: I got the name Johnny tattooed on my butt. He's
• 1:05:37
Speaker 2: an old sailor buddy, And if you knew what we
• 1:05:39
Speaker 2: went through, you'd understand. Yeah, we should talk about the
• 1:05:45
Speaker 2: bungee jumping thing, which we've mentioned on this podcast before,
• 1:05:48
Speaker 2: but two things I noticed this time. That you can
• 1:05:51
Speaker 2: clearly see that Sarah and I are safety lines to
• 1:05:54
Speaker 2: the bridge and aren't going anywhere from this bungee jump
• 1:05:57
Speaker 2: right now. If you pause it, you'll see that there's
• 1:05:59
Speaker 2: a stock line that ties us to the bridge, so
• 1:06:03
Speaker 2: we're not going to accidentally fall off. And then you
• 1:06:06
Speaker 2: can also see my mic right right under my collar.
• 1:06:09
  Speaker 2: There's a big there's a there's a big puffy thing
• 1:06:12
Speaker 2: that's my microphone. So there's two a little annoying wiki
• 1:06:14
Speaker 2: scrubs wiki things. Yeah, and so we didn't do this jump,
• 1:06:19
Speaker 2: and the two stunt people who did it met this
• 1:06:22
Speaker 2: day and then got married. They fell in love in
• 1:06:26
Speaker 2: this moment when they jumped off the bridge together.
• 1:06:29
Speaker 3: And are no longer married now.
• 1:06:30
Speaker 2: And now now we learn the sad part of the
• 1:06:32
Speaker 2: story that they got divorced, but you know, it is
• 1:06:35
Speaker 2: pretty romantic that they met this way at least married
• 1:06:37
Speaker 2: for a little while.
• 1:06:38
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:06:39
Speaker 1: Absolutely, you know, I just to go back a little bit.
• 1:06:42
Speaker 1: I really thought that was really great of Elliott. You know,
• 1:06:46
Speaker 1: she's always being rescued in these shows by you. You're
• 1:06:50
Speaker 1: always you know what I mean. And this is the
• 1:06:52
Speaker 1: one time where I told you so backfires on you.
• 1:06:57
Speaker 1: And and and yeah, she definitely, you know, razes you
• 1:07:02
Speaker 1: a little bit for it, but in the end she's
• 1:07:05
Speaker 1: such a good friend. She's like, you know, we all
• 1:07:08
Speaker 1: need to take It's just like I was saying from
• 1:07:10
Speaker 1: the beginning when I did when I did the recap.
• 1:07:14
Speaker 1: We all need to take chances, is what Elliot's saying.
• 1:07:16
Speaker 1: And here's one that here's one that's perfect for us.
• 1:07:20
Speaker 1: This is gonna scare the shit out of you. We're
• 1:07:21
Speaker 1: gonna jump off of a bridge together, but I'll be
• 1:07:24
  Speaker 1: there with you.
• 1:07:26
  Speaker 2: I think that's I think it's an important life lesson
• 1:07:28
Speaker 2: that the show tells people is the importance of not
• 1:07:30
Speaker 2: just sitting on the stands, of getting on the court,
• 1:07:33
Speaker 2: as they say, and participating and playing big. And these
• 1:07:36
Speaker 2: are a lot of life lessons my father used to
• 1:07:38
Speaker 2: give me about being brave and making bold choices and
• 1:07:42
Speaker 2: swinging for the fences and asking the question you're positive
• 1:07:45
Speaker 2: someone's gonna say no to, but like just going for it,
• 1:07:48
Speaker 2: putting yourself out there over and over and over again,
• 1:07:50
Speaker 2: and reaping the rewards when when you very often get
• 1:07:56
Speaker 2: good results from it.
• 1:07:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, and j D's not of that, you know. When
• 1:08:00
Speaker 1: we start off JD. JD is a let's wait and
• 1:08:02
Speaker 1: see type of person.
• 1:08:04
Speaker 3: And uh, it's true.
• 1:08:08
Speaker 1: You know, let's wait and see only gets you to
• 1:08:12
Speaker 1: seeing what happened. It doesn't necessarily make it so that
• 1:08:15
Speaker 1: you're in control of anything that happens.
• 1:08:18
Speaker 2: And certainly not nothing exciting and new is gonna happen
• 1:08:20
Speaker 2: that way. Nothing that's going to change your life is
• 1:08:22
Speaker 2: gonna You can't just sit back and wait for life
• 1:08:24
Speaker 2: to happen to you. You have to.
• 1:08:27
  Speaker 3: Seize the day.
• 1:08:28
Speaker 2: Car carbe dim as they as they say in Dead
• 1:08:30
Speaker 2: Poets Society, sez the day.
• 1:08:34
Speaker 3: Oh captain, my captain.
• 1:08:37
Speaker 2: I wanted to point out lastly that I was surprised
• 1:08:41
Speaker 2: to know this far in it's very clear that Cox
• 1:08:43
Speaker 2: is still pining for Carlo. You think so, Oh yeah, dude,
• 1:08:50
Speaker 2: he doesn't go with Heather Locklear's character, even though Heather
• 1:08:53
Speaker 2: Locklear is literally hitting on him and he's single and
• 1:08:56
Speaker 2: she's single, and she's sitting provocatively on the front of
• 1:08:59
Speaker 2: his car, and he doesn't go with her. And then
• 1:09:03
Speaker 2: and then you see him kind of staring at Judy
• 1:09:06
Speaker 2: and being like, you know, I think it's pretty clear
• 1:09:11
Speaker 2: to me. And my interpretation was that he's still sort
• 1:09:13
Speaker 2: of pining over her, and when she talks about her
• 1:09:18
Speaker 2: love for you, then he then has a second thought
• 1:09:23
  Speaker 2: about it.
• 1:09:23
  Speaker 3: I don't think so. I think I disagree.
• 1:09:25
Speaker 1: I think he I'm sure there are still feelings for Carla.
• 1:09:30
Speaker 3: Cox still has feelings for Carla, but I think he's put.
• 1:09:33
Speaker 1: Him aside, because even at the dinner when she's like,
• 1:09:36
Speaker 1: I love the fact that I'm at this dinner right now.
• 1:09:40
Speaker 3: My boyfriend's trying to eat his weight and meat.
• 1:09:43
Speaker 1: He's bought his best friend with him this, you know,
• 1:09:46
Speaker 1: and doctor Cox wants something that's not on the menu.
• 1:09:49
Speaker 1: He wants to eat something that's not on the menu,
• 1:09:51
Speaker 1: something like that, and she's talking about heathern Then he
• 1:09:53
Speaker 1: turns around and he's like what he's because he wasn't
• 1:09:57
Speaker 1: paying attention. He was staring at Heather Locklear's character.
• 1:10:01
Speaker 2: No, I don't. That wasn't my interpretation. My interpretation is
• 1:10:04
Speaker 2: that he's Uh. He goes and has a heart to
• 1:10:06
Speaker 2: heart with her. In when you're lying on the bed
• 1:10:09
Speaker 2: because your stomach hurts in the hospital, they have like
• 1:10:12
Speaker 2: a bit of a heart to heart and you're talking
• 1:10:14
Speaker 2: about how much you she's talking about how much she
• 1:10:17
Speaker 2: loves you, and then he yeah, but look he looks
• 1:10:20
Speaker 2: sad for a minute, like like if you look at
• 1:10:22
Speaker 2: twenty two thirty seven, he's got this sad look on
• 1:10:24
Speaker 2: his face that to me reads I really need to
• 1:10:28
Speaker 2: let this go. This woman's in love with Turk. I
• 1:10:31
Speaker 2: don't know why I'm still pining for her. Fuck it,
• 1:10:34
Speaker 2: I'm gonna go meet Heather at the bar and maybe
• 1:10:36
Speaker 2: have a one night stay on who knows, but but
• 1:10:39
Speaker 2: I have to start moving on.
• 1:10:40
Speaker 3: I didn't see it as that.
• 1:10:41
Speaker 1: I saw it as a friend who and not we
• 1:10:44
Speaker 1: could dead this after this. But I saw it as
• 1:10:46
Speaker 1: a friend who listened to what was said. Turk went
• 1:10:51
Speaker 1: ahead and tried to get her involved in a program
• 1:10:55
Speaker 1: that would grant her more power at the hospital, and
• 1:10:59
Speaker 1: Cox is like, dude, why don't you fucking take your
• 1:11:01
Speaker 1: boyfriend up on that offer? That's you'd crush that shit.
• 1:11:04
Speaker 1: You'd be really good at it, And she's like, of
• 1:11:09
Speaker 1: course i'd be good at it. I know i'd be
• 1:11:10
Speaker 1: good at it. I'm the you know, I take pride
• 1:11:14
Speaker 1: in my job and the time that would be needed
• 1:11:19
Speaker 1: for me to crush all of this would be time
• 1:11:22
Speaker 1: away from Turk, and I don't want to.
• 1:11:23
Speaker 3: I don't want time away from Turk.
• 1:11:24
Speaker 2: Well, it's up for interpretation. And if you're listening to
• 1:11:27
Speaker 2: this you probably have your own opinion, or if you
• 1:11:30
Speaker 2: don't remember, you can go back and check it out.
