  him more. Let's hear today's play from

  Acts 2. Therefore, let the whole house

  of Israel know beyond doubt that God has

  made him both Lord and Messiah. This

  do?" Peter answered them, "turn from

  and you'll receive the gift of the Holy

  Spirit." That question, brothers, what

  should we do is the most important

  question any man will ever ask. From

  Eden until now, our biggest problem

  hasn't been money, politics, or
• 0:54
  circumstances. Our biggest problem has
• 0:56
  been separation from God because of sin.

  In the garden, we walked with God. Then
• 1:01
  we chose disobedience and God drove us
• 1:04
  out. Ever since religion and self offer
• 1:07
  have tried to get back to him, but
• 1:09
  there's only one way, and that's Jesus.

  Jesus is the fulfillment of everything
• 1:13
  God promised. He's Lord and Messiah. God
• 1:16
  come in the flesh to die for us, rise
• 1:18
  for us, and bring us back to himself.

  There's no other savior for Jew or
• 1:22
  non-Jew, no other religion, no other
• 1:25
  system, no backup plan. So when the
• 1:27
  crowd realizes they've rejected the very
• 1:29
  one God sent to save them, they're cut
• 1:32
  to the heart. And Peter doesn't give
• 1:34
  them a vague spiritual answer. He gives
• 1:36
  them a clear one. First, turn from sin.
• 1:39
  That means more than feeling bad. It
• 1:41
  means breaking with disobedience.
• 1:42
  Turning from self-ruule, from secret
• 1:44
  sin, from the patterns that keep us from
• 1:47
  God. Your repentance is a U-turn.
• 1:50
  Second, return to God. Don't just turn
• 1:52
  away from something. Turn towards
• 1:54
  someone. Trust that God's love, mercy,
• 1:57
  and grace are real, fully displayed in
• 1:59
  Jesus at the cross. Believe that in him,
• 2:02
  you can be forgiven fully, finally, and
• 2:05
  forever. And third, be immersed in the
• 2:08
  name of Jesus. Baptism isn't a magic
• 2:10
  ritual. It's identification. It's going
• 2:13
  public that your old life was buried
• 2:14
  with Christ and your new life belongs to
• 2:16
  him. You're not just adding Jesus to
• 2:19
  your plans. You're dying to self and
• 2:21
  rising to follow him. Fourth, you will
• 2:24
  receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. God
• 2:26
  doesn't just forgive you and send you
• 2:28
  away. He comes to live in you. The Holy
• 2:30
  Spirit is God's seal, his guarantee that
• 2:33
  you belong to him. He assures you of
• 2:35
  God's love and moves you toward
• 2:37
  obedience, changing your desires from
• 2:39
  the inside out. So, brother, run today's
• 2:42
  play. Stop admiring Jesus and start
• 2:44
  obeying him. If you've never really
• 2:46
  responded to Jesus as Lord and Messiah,
• 2:49
  today where you are, admit your sin and
• 2:51
  separation from God. Call upon Jesus and
• 2:54
  tell him you're turning from sin and
• 2:56
  returning to him. Decide that your life
• 2:58
  now belongs to him. Then talk with a
• 3:00
  pastor or another believer about being
• 3:02
  baptized as your public declaration. If
• 3:05
  you already claim Christ, but you've
• 3:06
  been drifting, compromising, or living
• 3:08
  half in or half out, ask the spirit to
• 3:11
  show you we're resisting his lordship.
• 3:13
  Confess it. Make one change. Turn off
• 3:16
  what leads you into sin. Repair a
• 3:18
  relationship. Tell the truth where
• 3:19
  you've been lying or lead your home
• 3:21
  spiritually where you've been passive.
• 3:24
  Don't just admire Jesus from a distance.
• 3:26
  Don't just ask, "What should we do?" and
• 3:28
  then walk away. Turn from sin. Return to
• 3:31
  God. Identify with Jesus. Walk in the
• 3:33
  power of the Holy Spirit. If this huddle
• 3:35
