- 0:00Speaker 1: You're waking up to denver's morning.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Show with nina and josh x 100.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Josh i was going through my dms because like my
- 0:08Speaker 3: social media my instagram specifically has still been blowing up
- 0:12Speaker 3: from that bruno mars video that went viral oh.
- 0:14Speaker 2: That'll never stop yeah that'll never stop it.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Literally is constant i'm like Do I have regrets?
- 0:20Speaker 4: Kind of.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Please stop. Yeah, no, seriously. Can you turn your notifs off?
- 0:22Speaker 2: I'm wondering.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Well, my notifications, I'm not, like, my phone's not blowing up.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Oh, thank God.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I do turn those off, but every time. Your battery
- 0:28Speaker 3: would be like. Yeah, exactly. Every time I go on Instagram,
- 0:31Speaker 3: it is just constantly Bruno Mars stuff. And I have
- 0:34Speaker 3: all sorts of, like, weird DMs, too.
- 0:37Speaker 2: You know, one time I got like 600 likes on
- 0:39Speaker 2: a video. Just letting you know.
- 0:40Speaker 3: That's impressive.
- 0:42Speaker 2: You with your 8.9 million likes and views and everything.
- 0:45Speaker 2: I'm like, I got 600 one time.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Listen, it wasn't because of me. It was because of
- 0:48Speaker 3: someone else's goodies.
- 0:50Speaker 2: You know what they say, sex sells.
- 0:52Speaker 3: That's true. Very true. And it does on Instagram as well.
- 0:54Speaker 3: But I was going through my notifications. I'm going through
- 0:57Speaker 3: my DMs and, you know, just deleting all the spam
- 1:00Speaker 3: that's in there. But then I came across an actual
- 1:02Speaker 3: DM of a guy named James. And he heard our
- 1:06Speaker 3: What's the Drama last week.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Oh, love it.
- 1:08Speaker 3: And he was like, okay, if this is something that
- 1:10Speaker 3: you guys are going to be doing, I might need
- 1:13Speaker 3: your help.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:14Speaker 3: And then I asked him to send me a voice note,
- 1:16Speaker 3: and this is what he sent me.
- 1:18Speaker 5: My best friend has turned into a monster.
- 1:21Speaker 3: A monster.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Uh-oh.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:25Speaker 3: And it's a best friend situation, so that's a little concerning.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Well, yeah. I mean, you don't want a best friend
- 1:30Speaker 2: breakup or something, right?
- 1:31Speaker 3: Listen, boyfriend, girlfriend, that's one thing. Especially when you're young,
- 1:34Speaker 3: you're going to go through them. It is what it is.
- 1:36Speaker 3: But your best friend, that's supposed to be for life.
- 1:39Speaker 2: No, losing your bestie, I think, is always worse than
- 1:42Speaker 2: any type of boyfriend-girlfriend relationship breakup. Like, genuinely.
- 1:46Speaker 3: A hundred percent.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Save the drama for your mama. Oh, my God.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Or for Denver's morning show, I guess.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I love all the drama.
- 1:56Speaker 3: What's the drama today? What's the drama today?
- 1:58Speaker 1: Do it for the drama.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Here's Nina and Josh. James in Westminster dealing with some
- 2:05Speaker 3: best friend problems. And yeah, that can be a little
- 2:08Speaker 3: bit tricky. So, James, tell us what is going on.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Okay, long story short, my best friend has gone through
- 2:15Speaker 5: a lot over the years and he's a different person
- 2:17Speaker 5: than he used to be. He's so insensitive now and
- 2:20Speaker 5: I don't know if I want to be around him anymore.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Well, I mean, okay, hold on. We all go through like,
- 2:25Speaker 2: you know, ups and downs, different changes into adulthood or whatever.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And you say like he can be, I don't know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: insensitive or whatever. Is he just joking around or is
- 2:32Speaker 2: this like crude kind of rude humor?
- 2:34Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, it started that way. A little bit
- 2:36Speaker 5: of like crude humor. He would say something outlandish. He'd
- 2:39Speaker 5: give him a side eye, but he just doesn't care.
- 2:41Speaker 5: It's gotten worse. Halloween is coming up and he wants
- 2:44Speaker 5: to do a group costume, but I'm not comfortable going
- 2:46Speaker 5: out in public like this.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Oh, okay, okay. I need to know. I'm actually afraid
- 2:52Speaker 3: to ask, but I do need to know what is
- 2:54Speaker 3: the group costume that he wants to be.
- 2:56Speaker 5: So he came up with the tiger that just ate
- 2:59Speaker 5: a dude last week and the corpse.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yo! The corpse?
- 3:03Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh. And that's the nicest of his ideas lately.
- 3:07Speaker 2: The nicest?
- 3:08Speaker 3: What else does he have?
- 3:09Speaker 5: So he's also proposing Gypsy Rose and her mom because
- 3:12Speaker 5: they saw it on the internet.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Oh, jeez.
- 3:15Speaker 5: He wanted to do Kanye and Soulja Boy because he
- 3:19Speaker 5: wanted to run for president. It's too much for me.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Yeah, that sounds like a lot. This is a lot already.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Everything you've thrown out right now, this is almost too
- 3:27Speaker 3: much information. I kind of get it. But if this
- 3:31Speaker 3: is your best friend, like how long have you guys
- 3:33Speaker 3: known each other? Is this something that you can talk
- 3:35Speaker 3: to him about?
- 3:37Speaker 5: Maybe. We've known each other since elementary school. Like I said,
- 3:41Speaker 5: he's gone through some hard times where life is just
- 3:43Speaker 5: not fair to him. And it's made him into this mean,
- 3:46Speaker 5: bitter person that I don't enjoy being around anymore. But
- 3:49Speaker 5: he's my brother. I have love for him and I
- 3:51Speaker 5: can't just drop him. But I can't do this Halloween stuff.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Jeez, dude. I don't know. That sounds like a pretty
- 3:56Speaker 2: tough situation. I don't know. Maybe you could make like
- 4:00Speaker 2: an excuse to not spend Halloween with him.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah, you're an adult. You don't have to do stuff.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I told him I was thinking of going to
- 4:08Speaker 5: Chicago for Halloween, and I can't really avoid the trip,
- 4:10Speaker 5: but I might do it anyway to avoid that conversation. Oh!
- 4:15Speaker 2: Geez!
- 4:16Speaker 3: I mean, you've got to be able to talk to
- 4:17Speaker 3: your friend, though. If this is your best friend you
- 4:19Speaker 3: have known for years and years and years, you have
- 4:22Speaker 3: to be able to have these tough conversations sometimes. And listen,
- 4:26Speaker 3: if you're not able to, maybe it is time to
- 4:30Speaker 3: break ties.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Oh! That's bad. That's a bad situation to be in, Nina.
- 4:34Speaker 3: It really is. And James, I do feel for you
- 4:36Speaker 3: because those ideas that he came up with are insane.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But it sounds like you need some help. Do you
- 4:43Speaker 3: break ties with your best friend who's kind of switched
- 4:46Speaker 3: up their personality on you? Or do you just bite
- 4:50Speaker 3: the bullet and you talk to your friend?
- 4:52Speaker 2: I mean, look, I love James. And I think what
- 4:54Speaker 2: he said is very poignant. That being said, with all
- 4:58Speaker 2: the Halloween costumes, there have been decades of, What? I'm
- 5:00Speaker 2: a mouse. Duh. That type of thing. The more risque
- 5:04Speaker 2: people that dress up.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I'm kind of digging... I'm kind of digging the scary ones.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I kind of like it. I know, James. I'm sorry.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I might be flipping on you.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:14Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I think that this is just more an issue between
- 5:17Speaker 3: the friendship, James and his friend.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right.
- 5:20Speaker 3: I think you just need to have a conversation with
- 5:22Speaker 3: him almost.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Or just dump him.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Or just dump him.
- 5:25Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Look, we got a lot of texting calls. I think
- 5:28Speaker 2: we should get to the calls right away.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Okay, let's get to some calls. Justin, good morning. How
- 5:33Speaker 3: are we feeling today?
- 5:35Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Feeling pretty good. How about y'all?
- 5:38Speaker 3: We're good, but we're trying to help James out here. Like,
- 5:41Speaker 3: what does he do right now with this whole situation
- 5:43Speaker 3: with his friend? Does he try to talk to him
- 5:45Speaker 3: about the costumes, or does he just, like, drop him
- 5:49Speaker 3: as a friend, or does he go along with the
- 5:51Speaker 3: Halloween costumes? Like, what would you do in this situation?
- 5:54Speaker 1: If he's not feeling comfortable, he should absolutely talk to
- 5:59Speaker 1: his friend. I mean, he said that they've been friends
- 6:01Speaker 1: since elementary school.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:03Speaker 1: And with a friendship like that, you should be able
- 6:05Speaker 1: to talk to that person and be able to compromise
- 6:07Speaker 1: with each other. But if you can't and things are
- 6:10Speaker 1: actually getting that bad, then I would have to say
- 6:14Speaker 1: dump them. But I don't think it's that bad to
- 6:18Speaker 1: where they can't talk it through. I mean, if they're
- 6:20Speaker 1: best friends and brothers like you claim, they should be
- 6:23Speaker 1: able to talk it through.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. I just don't I don't like the
- 6:26Speaker 2: idea of dumping because you're right. Like you said, he
- 6:28Speaker 2: has been friends with him for so long.
- 6:30Speaker 3: He called him his brother.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Yeah. To break up and have that friendship breakup after
- 6:35Speaker 2: so many years. I mean, that's over this like this
- 6:38Speaker 2: is such a little thing in the grand scheme, right?
- 6:41Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 6:41Speaker 1: It's so little. It's not worth I don't think it's
- 6:44Speaker 1: worth ruining a friendship of.
- 6:46Speaker 7: Of that.
- 6:47Speaker 3: A lifetime friendship.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Something like this.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Yeah. No, you're right, Justin. All right, man, we got
- 6:51Speaker 2: your vote. You are saying try not to break up.
- 6:54Speaker 2: We appreciate you calling in, man. Thank you.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yep.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Good day, guys.
- 6:58Speaker 2: You too, man. Thanks for calling in.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Interesting. Yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 3: I guess a conversation is definitely needed. But it kind
- 7:05Speaker 3: of sounds to me like James has maybe talked to
- 7:07Speaker 3: him before because he knows that he's going through stuff.
- 7:10Speaker 2: About other things. Yes. Yeah. Exactly. All right. So, so
- 7:12Speaker 2: far we have try to talk it out. I like that.
- 7:14Speaker 2: One for try to talk it out. Okay.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Let's talk to Alicia. Good morning, Alicia. How are we
- 7:19Speaker 3: feeling today?
- 7:20Speaker 4: I'm good. It's rainy.
- 7:23Speaker 7: It's Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 5: I love it.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Oh, the cold, rainy weather. Oh, it's my best friend.
- 7:28Speaker 2: I love it so much.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm ready.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I'm ready for the snow.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I'm with Josh on that. I already like you, Alicia.
- 7:34Speaker 5: All right. Awesome.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:35Speaker 2: So how are you feeling on this whole thing? We
- 7:37Speaker 2: know James is really upset by this. Do you think
- 7:40Speaker 2: they can talk it out? What are your thoughts?
- 7:42Speaker 4: I totally think they could talk it out. Like, I mean,
- 7:45Speaker 4: I texted in for like, I've known my best friend since.
- 7:48Speaker 6: We were four or five like and we've had her
- 7:52Speaker 6: ups and downs yeah we've had her ups and downs
- 7:55Speaker 6: and I mean they're a girl's family and she would
- 7:58Speaker 6: do the same thing for me like if I was
- 8:00Speaker 6: going through it and she's really been going through it
- 8:03Speaker 6: the last couple months so if she was like oh
- 8:05Speaker 6: I want to dress as.
- 8:08Speaker 4: X and Y or.
- 8:09Speaker 6: Whatever as Gypsy Rose and her mom yeah I would.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Do it for her you're saying go along with it
- 8:15Speaker 2: then because she's been kind of going through it you're
- 8:18Speaker 2: going to accompany her with this Oh, I.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Would totally do it.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Oh, my God. I love that, first of all. But
- 8:24Speaker 2: even if you hate the costume idea, you're going to
- 8:26Speaker 2: go along?
- 8:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I would do it for her.
- 8:29Speaker 5: Alicia.
- 8:29Speaker 4: She would do it for me.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Yep. You're a ride or die. A ride or die
- 8:33Speaker 3: bestie right here. We love that.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I would do it in a heartbeat.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I want to be your bestie. What the heck? You
- 8:39Speaker 2: sound like such a good friend.
- 8:43Speaker 4: She, like, I thrive off, like, dark humor when I'm in, like,
- 8:47Speaker 4: really bad states.
- 8:49Speaker 6: And she does, too.
- 8:50Speaker 4: So I feel like it's just like one of those
- 8:51Speaker 4: things where it's like that's going to make me feel
- 8:53Speaker 4: so much better. Even if I like if it sounds
- 8:56Speaker 4: horrible to other people, it's going to make me feel better.
- 8:59Speaker 4: And I'm going to come out just happier than ever.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Alicia, you're hilarious. So you're that person. You're not only
- 9:07Speaker 3: the ride or die, but like you thrive off that
- 9:09Speaker 3: dark humor. So you're down for it. Would you have
- 9:12Speaker 3: a conversation, though, with your friend of like, hey? Your
- 9:15Speaker 3: personality's changed a little bit. I know, like, we'll have
- 9:17Speaker 3: fun this Halloween, but can I help you in other ways?
- 9:21Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:23Speaker 4: We're brutally honest with each other. That's good.
- 9:25Speaker 2: You need that.
- 9:26Speaker 4: We'll wake up the next day and be like, girl,
- 9:28Speaker 4: that was so wrong. Well, that's good.
- 9:30Speaker 2: All right. Okay, so we have one for try to
- 9:32Speaker 2: have the conversation, now one for go along with it.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yeah. All right.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Alicia, thank you for your call.
- 9:37Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 9:38Speaker 4: You guys have a good day.
- 9:39Speaker 2: You too.
- 9:39Speaker 5: Bye.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Okay, so we're tied. This last call is incredibly important.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah, very interesting. I know. I mean, I'm glad Alicia's
- 9:47Speaker 3: a ride or die, but I don't know. Part of
- 9:49Speaker 3: me is just like, if this person has changed and
- 9:51Speaker 3: they no longer fit in your life, maybe leave it
- 9:54Speaker 3: at that.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Maybe, but I kind of like the going along with it. Like,
- 9:58Speaker 2: I kind of do.
- 9:59Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Know but that's your face in the photos and you
- 10:02Speaker 3: know people are going to be taking pictures of you
- 10:04Speaker 3: and video and wear.
- 10:05Speaker 2: A mask wear a mask.
- 10:07Speaker 3: You're good okay the tiebreaker phone call debbie we're on
- 10:12Speaker 3: the air right now we're talking about james in this
- 10:14Speaker 3: whole costume situation what do you got to say about
- 10:17Speaker 3: it what would you do in this situation.
- 10:20Speaker 7: Well, I'm having a really grumpy morning, so I'm like, done.
- 10:24Speaker 7: I'm done with it.
- 10:25Speaker 1: No, no, you don't understand.
- 10:27Speaker 5: You don't understand.
- 10:28Speaker 7: Okay, I'm going to change my name and pretend you
- 10:30Speaker 7: didn't call me Debbie, okay?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Okay, perfect.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Sarah.
- 10:33Speaker 2: No cursing, though. I'm just going to preface.
- 10:35Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 10:36Speaker 2: No cursing.
- 10:36Speaker 7: No cursing.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Okay, I know you're in a bad mood.
- 10:39Speaker 7: I'm sorry. People I know, listen. I'm watching four dogs.
- 10:44Speaker 6: Okay.
- 10:44Speaker 7: I took them all outside to go to the bathroom
- 10:47Speaker 7: and I came in, went upstairs for 30 seconds and
- 10:50Speaker 7: they all just did all their business on the floor
- 10:52Speaker 7: in the house. And I got in the car and
- 10:55Speaker 7: I heard your, your, you know, go with it. I'm like, no,
- 10:59Speaker 7: I'm done with you.
- 11:00Speaker 1: No, you're out of here.
- 11:00Speaker 3: We're done with the dogs. We're done with his friend.
- 11:02Speaker 3: We're done with these costumes.
- 11:04Speaker 7: We're done with everybody.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:06Speaker 7: But in general, I'm a happy person, but I'm done
- 11:08Speaker 7: with that.
- 11:08Speaker 3: To Today's just not your day, Debbie, and that's okay.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I feel Sarah.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Sarah.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I feel so bad for you, Sarah. Fake name Sarah.
- 11:14Speaker 2: There we go.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Thank you, Sarah.
- 11:16Speaker 2: First of all, I am so sorry about that, but
- 11:18Speaker 2: I also love how you are just not giving anything today.
- 11:21Speaker 2: You're like, absolutely F that.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Drop him as a friend. We're done here. We just
- 11:26Speaker 3: don't need this in our life today.
- 11:28Speaker 1: No longer a people pleaser.
- 11:30Speaker 2: We're done. Okay, there we have it. You know what, Sarah?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Thank you for the call. Thank you, Sarah. Mike?
- 11:38Speaker 3: Incredible she's like.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Just be done with it yeah you know what okay
- 11:40Speaker 2: so hey you know what james be done with it
- 11:42Speaker 2: i guess.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I mean we got a few other texts in on
- 11:45Speaker 3: the text line and someone says do what works for
- 11:47Speaker 3: you if this person no longer serves you be done with.
- 11:51Speaker 2: It i like that i'm kind of like the no
- 11:54Speaker 2: craps given attitude right.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Now right and sometimes as an adult that's what you
- 11:57Speaker 3: got to do things change your personality changes lifestyle changes
- 12:02Speaker 3: And you have to drop friends. I've dropped family members,
- 12:06Speaker 3: all right, for way less than this.
- 12:08Speaker 2: No shame.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Oh, that's me, though, you know.
- 12:11Speaker 2: All right, I guess we drop them.
- 12:14Speaker 3: I think that's the general consensus, James, is that you
- 12:17Speaker 3: kind of drop them as a friend.
- 12:19Speaker 2: James, also let us know real quick, man, whenever this happens,
- 12:21Speaker 2: and follow up with us, okay?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Yeah, please. I'm so interested to hear about the rest
- 12:25Speaker 3: of it.
- 12:26Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
