- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Welcome to Girls Cone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm
- 0:25Speaker 2: Megan and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm a former Hallmark hater.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Today is our hotly anticipated Countdown to Christmas preview episode.
- 0:33Speaker 2: We will be doing this in two parts, so don't
- 0:35Speaker 2: forget to come back for part two as we dive
- 0:38Speaker 2: into the new movies and series coming to Hallmark and
- 0:42Speaker 2: Hallmark Plus this twenty twenty.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Five holiday season. Can you believe we're here again?
- 0:49Speaker 2: No? No, it feels like yesterday that we were leaving
- 0:52Speaker 2: Kansas City. Oh really, Yeah, it doesn't feel like it's
- 0:55Speaker 2: been nine months since that.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm having a lot of melancholy feelings about like
- 1:02Speaker 1: this time of year last year, like excited for countdown
- 1:06Speaker 1: to Christmas, excited for the cruise, and we have none
- 1:09Speaker 1: of that.
- 1:09Speaker 2: This year. We have no cruise, We have no Kansas
- 1:12Speaker 2: City experience. Although as of this morning, the pre sale
- 1:16Speaker 2: for the cruise was just announced and we signed up.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Who knows what we're gonna do with that.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Twenty twenty six seems real far away, it really does.
- 1:25Speaker 1: But but I mean, maybe I know we needed to
- 1:33Speaker 1: take a year off in between you.
- 1:35Speaker 2: But I'm gonna have a serious fomo when that cruise
- 1:37Speaker 2: set sail.
- 1:38Speaker 1: I know same.
- 1:40Speaker 2: So maybe we'll be back in twenty twenty six. We
- 1:42Speaker 2: shall see. We'll let y'all know. Maybe can we do
- 1:44Speaker 2: some broad strokes real quick?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Sure? And I have some questions for you? Okay, So
- 1:49Speaker 1: count under.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Christmas announcement came out. We have twenty four slash twenty
- 1:53Speaker 2: seven new movies. We'll get into it. Five ish series,
- 1:59Speaker 2: no Hallmark Mystery slash Miracles of Christmas. Right, so I'm curious.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Let's start with what are your thoughts on the number
- 2:08Speaker 2: of movies.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Well, I've been thinking about this and I have been
- 2:13Speaker 1: reading Reddit and Facebook a lot. I knew people would
- 2:18Speaker 1: be so unhappy that there were less than forty plus movies. However,
- 2:25Speaker 1: me personally, I've been saying for maybe the last two years,
- 2:29Speaker 1: quality over quantity. Yes, So I'm hopeful that we're going
- 2:35Speaker 1: to get some smash hit movies here because they're not
- 2:39Speaker 1: making so many.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Right, they didn't feel the pressure to hit that number,
- 2:43Speaker 2: which is made up it's a goal exept for themselves, right,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and rather focused on making quality movies. I have some
- 2:52Speaker 2: thoughts on twenty twenty five from Hallmark that we'll get
- 2:54Speaker 2: into in a minute. How do you feel we have
- 2:56Speaker 2: several series both scripted and reality. I mean, I know
- 2:58Speaker 2: the answer to this, but how do you feel about having
- 3:00Speaker 2: those as part of the countdown?
- 3:01Speaker 1: I love it, Yeah, mix it up, baby, Yeah. I know.
- 3:05Speaker 1: There's so many traditionalist Hallmark viewers who are like, why
- 3:10Speaker 1: aren't they just airing Hallmark movies all the time? I
- 3:13Speaker 1: need Hallmark movies all the time, anti reality, anti series,
- 3:18Speaker 1: but I'm like, why not, right?
- 3:20Speaker 2: I think there are a lot of Hallmark watchers who
- 3:22Speaker 2: get very in their Hallmark box and they're like, I
- 3:24Speaker 2: need my two hour movie. I know what to expect,
- 3:26Speaker 2: and I understand I'm not really I'm not a great
- 3:30Speaker 2: stepper out of the box either, especially when it comes
- 3:33Speaker 2: to television. I'm far more likely to go with what
- 3:35Speaker 2: feels comfortable. But as we get into this, I do
- 3:40Speaker 2: think there are some things that are worth people's time.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I agree.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Let's talk Hallmark Mystery. Do you have an opinion about
- 3:47Speaker 2: the loss of Miracles of Christmas? Now?
- 3:50Speaker 1: Honestly, those were probably my least favorite. Look, I need
- 3:55Speaker 1: a fun wrong rom com. H I don't need anything
- 3:58Speaker 1: like too too heavy. The holiday season is heavy for
- 4:03Speaker 1: me personally anyway, so like that's not the type of
- 4:06Speaker 1: movie I'm drawn to. But with that said, I know
- 4:09Speaker 1: a lot of people are upset that those movies don't
- 4:12Speaker 1: exist anymore or that's yeah.
- 4:14Speaker 2: So what I wonder is for me, I'm not bothered
- 4:17Speaker 2: by the loss of movies not airing on Hallmark Mystery.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Those movies always had a lower viewership. Fewer people have
- 4:23Speaker 2: access to Hallmark Mystery. I feel like some people don't
- 4:27Speaker 2: fully understand that there were multiple channels where you could
- 4:31Speaker 2: watch Hallmark movies. So I think consolidating everything on Hallmark
- 4:35Speaker 2: Channel and for the listeners who may or may not
- 4:38Speaker 2: know this, everything is getting a next day air on
- 4:41Speaker 2: Hallmark Plus. This is, in my opinion, the best year
- 4:43Speaker 2: for counting to Christmas movies because there is a very
- 4:47Speaker 2: easy way to watch them all if you don't have
- 4:49Speaker 2: Hallmark Channel, and it's not catch them in the seventy
- 4:52Speaker 2: two hours. They're available on Peacock.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Every movie is on Hallmark Plus. Every series will be
- 4:57Speaker 2: on Hallmark Plus next day. So I want Hallmark to.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Make a full court press to push that information out
- 5:05Speaker 1: there so people are aware that they can have access
- 5:09Speaker 1: to every single movie. Now, tell me, on Hallmark Mystery,
- 5:13Speaker 1: they are going to be airing marathons of Christmas content?
- 5:18Speaker 1: Is that correct?
- 5:18Speaker 2: Every Sunday beginning October nineteenth, Hallmark Mystery offers movie marathons
- 5:23Speaker 2: presented in festive themed collections, including A Cozy Country Christmas,
- 5:26Speaker 2: Thank You for Your Service, The Magic of Christmas, and
- 5:29Speaker 2: a Little Christmas Faith every Tuesday night starting October twenty first,
- 5:34Speaker 2: viewers wanting to binge watch holiday movies led by their
- 5:36Speaker 2: favorite stars will have their Christmas wish granted with back
- 5:40Speaker 2: to back films featuring Paul Campbell, Jesse Shram, Victor Webster
- 5:45Speaker 2: and more.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Look, I love a collection, I love a themed situation.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'm glad they're doing that, and I think that ticks
- 5:55Speaker 1: the I mean, they have to utilize that channel for something.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm very curious to see what the future of
- 6:02Speaker 2: that channel is going to be. They rebranded. It was
- 6:04Speaker 2: part of their big rebrand announcement prior to Hallmark Plus,
- 6:08Speaker 2: they rebranded all of their channels. I don't know what's
- 6:12Speaker 2: happening over there.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 6:14Speaker 2: My thought on what Hallmark is doing. I have felt
- 6:17Speaker 2: like twenty twenty five has been a bit of a rebuilding,
- 6:19Speaker 2: refocusing year. You think Hallmark plus big plans in twenty
- 6:23Speaker 2: twenty four, all this original content, and I feel like
- 6:27Speaker 2: Countdown to Christmas was a deluge. Not only did we
- 6:30Speaker 2: have forty movies on linear programming, but we also had
- 6:35Speaker 2: original movies. We had The Unwrapping Christmas, we had Cherry Lane,
- 6:38Speaker 2: we had Finding Mister Christmas, Holidays, Mistletoe Murders, plus Ready
- 6:42Speaker 2: Cycle Low, all of that on Hallmark Plus it was
- 6:45Speaker 2: entirely too much. So as a consumer, how many people
- 6:51Speaker 2: are genuinely watching all forty movies? That number has got
- 6:55Speaker 2: to be low. I like the balance, and I think
- 7:00Speaker 2: like this year has been like, let's maybe recoup some
- 7:04Speaker 2: of what we invested in Hallmark lass and I hope
- 7:07Speaker 2: that the idea is now we're making plans to start
- 7:10Speaker 2: twenty twenty six strong, because twenty twenty five has been
- 7:14Speaker 2: a little bit of a mismash.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I agree, a lot of re airs, a lot.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Of weekends without even a new movie, not even a
- 7:21Speaker 2: reaired movie. So I'm very curious to see what next
- 7:24Speaker 2: year brings. We have Michelle Vickery in the mix, hopefully
- 7:27Speaker 2: trying to refocus things. I'm not mad at this schedule though,
- 7:31Speaker 2: me neither, particularly as a content creator. Yes, ma'am, Now
- 7:35Speaker 2: let's talk about you and I really quickly. Okay, you
- 7:37Speaker 2: made a statement the other day. What did you say.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I said, let's do them all.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I don't see why we don't.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah, in previous years, when there's forty plus movies, we
- 7:47Speaker 1: would have to sit down and like kind of pick
- 7:49Speaker 1: and choose what sounded best to us. And you know,
- 7:54Speaker 1: we are two people. There's only so many hours in
- 7:57Speaker 1: the day, there's only so many days in the week
- 8:00Speaker 1: to publish podcasts. But this year seems highly doable. We're
- 8:05Speaker 1: talking about two movies a week plus the series. Yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I think that can be done.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I think so too. I think so too.
- 8:14Speaker 1: So. I mean, I'm saying it now, let's do it.
- 8:18Speaker 1: But who knows what what can happen?
- 8:21Speaker 2: Look, if you had a sneak peek into the behind
- 8:24Speaker 2: the scenes of the Lives of Girls Gone Hallmark this
- 8:26Speaker 2: past week, expect the unexpected would absolutely be the theme
- 8:32Speaker 2: around here. M But let's hope maybe it's all out
- 8:35Speaker 2: of the way and it's going to be smooth sailing
- 8:36Speaker 2: until the end of the year.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I hope.
- 8:37Speaker 2: So, so are you ready to talk? Count do under
- 8:42Speaker 2: Christmas twenty twenty five? I am, Why don't you kick
- 8:45Speaker 2: us off?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Saturday October eighteenth, A Royal Montana Christmas, A princess seeking
- 8:54Speaker 1: escape spends Christmas at a Montana ranch where she rediscovers
- 8:57Speaker 1: joy family traditions and an un expected romance. It stars
- 9:02Speaker 1: Fiona Googleman and Warren Christy. It's also directed by Peter Benson.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Peter Benson one of my faves. Fiona Googleman was in
- 9:12Speaker 2: last year's she was in Sugar Plum. She was also
- 9:15Speaker 2: into the season to be Irish. She was in sugar Plum.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Ask Who's not one of the leads? But she was
- 9:20Speaker 2: in it?
- 9:21Speaker 1: Okay, I'm shaking my head to Megan. I'm like, that's
- 9:24Speaker 1: not right, but I don't she was not. She was
- 9:27Speaker 1: definitely not the lead, not one of the two leads.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Remember her. I have been alongside Victor Webster in that
- 9:33Speaker 1: cameo saying, oh, I don't know who she was.
- 9:36Speaker 2: My point is Princess Victoria of Zelarnia is the character
- 9:41Speaker 2: that she plays. I'm glad to see Warren Christy. He'll
- 9:44Speaker 2: be in Home Turf with Niki Delouche this fall. He
- 9:47Speaker 2: was in Niki with Nikki di Loluche last year. I
- 9:49Speaker 2: liked him in that movie as well. I feel like
- 9:51Speaker 2: he's been like we haven't seen a ton of him lately,
- 9:54Speaker 2: so I'm glad to see him back. But I had
- 9:56Speaker 2: to tell you when you kick off with Princess Victoria
- 9:59Speaker 2: of Larnia, my first reaction is to like mentally to.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Now, yes, I agree you lost me at Princess, and
- 10:08Speaker 1: I hate seeing that. It's just not the type of
- 10:12Speaker 1: movie movie that draws me in. With that said, though,
- 10:17Speaker 1: you have a really good director with Peter Benson, like
- 10:20Speaker 1: he gave us Return to Office earlier this year Leah's
- 10:24Speaker 1: Perfect Gift from last year. I enjoyed that movie quite
- 10:27Speaker 1: a bit. Blind a book Club, and he's booked and
- 10:30Speaker 1: busy this year. This is the first of three maybe
- 10:34Speaker 1: movies he has in the countdown to Christmas lineup, So
- 10:38Speaker 1: good director.
- 10:38Speaker 2: All Right, what are you thinking about a royal Montana Christmas?
- 10:42Speaker 1: Overall? I think it's an odd choice to kick off
- 10:45Speaker 1: this season. Interesting, but it also makes sense for October,
- 10:49Speaker 1: oh because Montana feels like fall No, because nobody's watching
- 10:53Speaker 1: Christmas movies and how I'm not trying to be a hater.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I just I hear you. I do hear you. Although
- 11:01Speaker 2: I do remember last year starting strong, don't ask me what,
- 11:04Speaker 2: Oh no, it was. It was that Robert Buckley any
- 11:09Speaker 2: Greening movie, which was great.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It was great. I think.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Wasn't Holiday Crashers opening weekend too?
- 11:14Speaker 1: I think so?
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'm I'm willing to be surprised. Speaking of names,
- 11:20Speaker 2: I want you to know that Warren Christy plays a
- 11:24Speaker 2: man named Huntley Blaylock. Hmmm.
- 11:27Speaker 1: He's a rancher, a dashing he's her dashing guide.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a rancher. So there's going to be a
- 11:33Speaker 2: lot of royal in the country. Hijinks may ensue. Yeah,
- 11:37Speaker 2: I'm I'm not looking for I'm envisioning her very much
- 11:40Speaker 2: like Jesse Shram and Harvest Moon, like on her ass
- 11:43Speaker 2: in a big mud puddle. Hmm, you know, inappropriately addressed
- 11:47Speaker 2: for the occasion.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I'm well.
- 11:50Speaker 2: We'll be watching it. Come back here, girl's gone hommark
- 11:52Speaker 2: for the review. Next up, Sunday, October nineteenth, a Christmas
- 11:56Speaker 2: Angel Match starring Megan Ory and Benjamin A. Two angels
- 12:01Speaker 2: with very different styles are paired to help a destined
- 12:03Speaker 2: couple fall in love and find their own spark along
- 12:07Speaker 2: the way. My notes say angels, yes, Benjamin Airs double yes.
- 12:13Speaker 2: So this one is directed by Christy Wilbolf. I don't
- 12:16Speaker 2: know who the writer of this movie is currently unknown,
- 12:20Speaker 2: just because the information is not readily available to us
- 12:24Speaker 2: or on the internet quite yet. At first glance, this
- 12:28Speaker 2: was Giving Miracles of Christmas. However, the extended description which
- 12:34Speaker 2: you have in your hands, it reads to me more
- 12:36Speaker 2: like opposites attract trope. Yeah, let me give you a
- 12:39Speaker 2: little more information. Monica is a by the book traditionalist
- 12:43Speaker 2: who follows every heavenly rule, while Michael, that's our boy,
- 12:47Speaker 2: Benjamin right there embrace's spontaneity and delights and earthly joys
- 12:51Speaker 2: like hot chocolate, snowball fights and holiday dancing. Is it
- 12:54Speaker 2: giving buddy the elf angel version? M Perhaps, Look, Benjamin
- 12:59Speaker 2: Air's is a great comedic actor, and so I think
- 13:03Speaker 2: he's going to.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Bring a lot of fun to this role. Remember him
- 13:05Speaker 1: in the Santa Claus last year. Absolutely Chef's freaking Kiss. Absolutely,
- 13:09Speaker 1: he's so funny, he does comedy so well. I think
- 13:13Speaker 1: this is going to be a real nice pairing. I
- 13:15Speaker 1: can absolutely see Megan or as this kind of buy
- 13:20Speaker 1: the book Angel Dal. I'm excited to see how they
- 13:24Speaker 1: portray angels. In the last couple of years, we've seen
- 13:28Speaker 1: them do variations of Providence Falls. We had Angels and
- 13:33Speaker 1: that was kind of weird. And then that movie where
- 13:37Speaker 1: Ian Harding, isn't it and like they're angels and.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Oh yes, that's a Christmas Carol spin off.
- 13:45Speaker 1: That was really good the way they portrayed loved there.
- 13:49Speaker 1: So I'm excited to see what they're going to do here.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I agree with you, this is definitely on my radar.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Also in this movie, these two angels, they're trying to
- 14:00Speaker 1: put like a couple together. I'm excited to see who
- 14:02Speaker 1: that couple is. Is it random or is it going
- 14:05Speaker 1: to be like a Yammo type situation question?
- 14:08Speaker 2: Is there any part of you that is envisioning the
- 14:11Speaker 2: nine to two to one zero Christmas episode with the
- 14:13Speaker 2: Angel and.
- 14:14Speaker 1: The school bus and all this nonsense. Yes, TV episode
- 14:18Speaker 1: from thirty plus years ago.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Yes, but I can hear their voices as the bus
- 14:22Speaker 2: is headed towards certain disaster.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Oh can I? So? Can? I? Next up Saturday, October
- 14:30Speaker 1: twenty fifth, Mary Christmas, Ted Cooper stars Robert Buckley not Junior,
- 14:36Speaker 1: and Kimberly Sesdad. After a string of unlucky holidays, a
- 14:41Speaker 1: cheerful weatherman heads home for Christmas and gets a second
- 14:44Speaker 1: chance at love. Writer Russell Haylan did the screenplay for.
- 14:49Speaker 2: This, Yes he did.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I only know this because Homie's out on Reddit promoting it. Yes,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I saw that you share. You shared it with me.
- 14:56Speaker 2: He also posted on Instagram about it. I like when
- 15:00Speaker 2: these writers and directors are getting up in the socials
- 15:02Speaker 2: and sharing what they've worked on, because that information's not
- 15:05Speaker 2: out there with all of these press releases. For me,
- 15:08Speaker 2: I was already sold. I feel like Robert Buckley and
- 15:10Speaker 2: Kimberly says, has a great pairing, can't go wrong, cannot
- 15:13Speaker 2: go wrong. Russell Hanline can write a killer holiday movie script.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So I think it's a fun, a fun idea. I agree,
- 15:21Speaker 2: we have all the ingredients here. However, may I read
- 15:24Speaker 2: this line to you from the extended synoposition?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Sure?
- 15:27Speaker 2: Within hours of arriving at his sister Kate's house, he
- 15:29Speaker 2: finds himself making a trip to urgent care after falling
- 15:32Speaker 2: off a ladder while hanging decorations. While there, he runs
- 15:36Speaker 2: into Ruth Mittens, his former high school science teacher who
- 15:40Speaker 2: was always his cheerleader. He reconnects with the charming Hope Miller,
- 15:44Speaker 2: except she's now doctor Hope Miller, with whom he went
- 15:47Speaker 2: to high school and quietly crushed on. From Afar look
- 15:49Speaker 2: falling off a ladder. I always worry hijinks.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but but I'm excited to see Robert Buckley play
- 15:58Speaker 1: kind of like this unlos dude. I'm mean, with a
- 16:02Speaker 1: face card like his, and to be a love face
- 16:05Speaker 1: card look at you. Yeah, I'm excited for it. I'm
- 16:09Speaker 1: really excited to see who is going to play Ruth Mittens,
- 16:13Speaker 1: the high school teacher as am I.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Also, he's described as having relentless optimism. I'm picturing a
- 16:18Speaker 2: ted Lasso type character, which I totally get behind.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Yes, and then you got like Kim's dry sense of humor. Like,
- 16:24Speaker 1: I can see it all working very much. Looking forward
- 16:27Speaker 1: to this one.
- 16:28Speaker 2: So next up on this very weekend, we have Sunday,
- 16:30Speaker 2: October second, we have the Cherry Lane Movie's Hallmark Channel debut.
- 16:35Speaker 2: We get a triple play starting at four pm, seasons
- 16:39Speaker 2: Greetings from Cherry Lane, followed by Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane,
- 16:43Speaker 2: and then deck the Halls on Cherry Lane. This was
- 16:47Speaker 2: a Hallmark Plus release in twenty twenty four. I am
- 16:51Speaker 2: not surprised to see that they I'm glad actually to
- 16:54Speaker 2: see that we get them back to back, that they're
- 16:56Speaker 2: doing them on one Sunday, rather than trying to fill
- 16:59Speaker 2: three separate time slots.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Thank god.
- 17:02Speaker 2: And this wasn't even in the original press release. They're
- 17:06Speaker 2: not calling these originals, but they are on the official schedule.
- 17:09Speaker 2: I got to say, I really enjoyed the first round
- 17:12Speaker 2: of Cherry Lane the original, the original movie. Yeah, I
- 17:15Speaker 2: thought it was very cleverly done.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I did not.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Watch all of these, but I started to. I'd be
- 17:23Speaker 1: willing to give them another try. These aren't high.
- 17:28Speaker 2: On my list of movies I'm dying to talk about
- 17:30Speaker 2: this season.
- 17:31Speaker 1: That's interesting you say that. More on that in a second.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I had a very good feeling these were going to
- 17:38Speaker 1: drop on the schedule. I was kind of surprised when
- 17:41Speaker 1: they weren't, like initially on the schedule. Yeah, absolutely, me too,
- 17:45Speaker 1: But I'm not surprised. Why Why wouldn't you, Why wouldn't
- 17:48Speaker 1: they agree with you? I'm so glad they're not drawing
- 17:52Speaker 1: it out over three weekends. I would probably riot in
- 17:56Speaker 1: the streets of Kansas City if that was the case.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Not because these are not good movies. It's just because
- 18:02Speaker 1: it's been a year of Encore presentations and I'm like,
- 18:06Speaker 1: please give us something new and fresh. I agree with you,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I'm not Are we going.
- 18:11Speaker 2: To review these? I don't know. I just feel like they've.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Been out there. I don't know if we want to, Like,
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm not sure that we need to. And I watched
- 18:20Speaker 1: these last year when they originally dropped. For me, it's
- 18:24Speaker 1: it's like rinse and repeat. It's the same. Like I
- 18:26Speaker 1: thought it was so nicely done. The first movie was
- 18:30Speaker 1: so nicely done, like you said, it was clever. It
- 18:33Speaker 1: left a lot of people asking questions, they didn't quite
- 18:36Speaker 1: get it whatever. But now you're repeating that same formula
- 18:41Speaker 1: like three more times. It feels like why. So That's
- 18:45Speaker 1: how I feel about it. But great cast, great casting throughout.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Absolutely let me move on?
- 18:54Speaker 1: Yeah? Moving on Saturday, November one, Christmas on Duty East
- 19:00Speaker 1: stars Janelle Parish and Parker Young. This was directed by
- 19:04Speaker 1: Jake Van Wagner, who directed last year's Deck the Walls.
- 19:08Speaker 1: The screenplay comes from writer Alexis Sigal, totally new to Hallmark,
- 19:13Speaker 1: has previously written on a TV series, but that's it.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Here is the synopsis. Former rivals are stuck working Christmas
- 19:21Speaker 1: duty together on base and a snowstorm forces them into
- 19:26Speaker 1: a holiday saving mission. Last year's Finding Mister Christmas winner
- 19:31Speaker 1: Ezra Morland also appears in this movie. What are your
- 19:35Speaker 1: first impressions?
- 19:36Speaker 2: Well, our stars are Janelle Parish and Parker Young. Parker Young.
- 19:40Speaker 2: I feel like it's worth noting in that it's so
- 19:43Speaker 2: interesting to me j They list their credits in the
- 19:47Speaker 2: press release. Janelle is listed as Pretty Little Liars, which
- 19:50Speaker 2: is so bizarre to me that in a Hallmark press
- 19:52Speaker 2: release you wouldn't list one of her Hallmarks, sugar Plum.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Why are we not calling out sugar Plum a.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Return to office.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yes. Parker Young's previous credit is listed as Enlisted, which
- 20:02Speaker 2: is a twenty fourteen series that he has, and he's
- 20:06Speaker 2: been in quite a bit since then. He was in
- 20:08Speaker 2: several episodes of nine to one one Lone Star, the
- 20:10Speaker 2: series Impostors a Million Little Things. But he is a
- 20:13Speaker 2: Hallmark newbie. We have two military based movies this year.
- 20:18Speaker 2: My concern is sometimes when we try to do a
- 20:21Speaker 2: very specific job. Can we make it look realistic? Okay,
- 20:25Speaker 2: I don't want bobo military. I want to give it
- 20:29Speaker 2: the respect that it deserves. And I do worry about
- 20:31Speaker 2: that a little bit.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Here's my worry. I feel like this movie, a majority
- 20:37Speaker 1: of it might take place in one setting or one
- 20:39Speaker 1: short time frame. Yes, I think you're right, and that.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Worries me a little bit.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I don't have a great feeling about this one. I
- 20:47Speaker 1: love Janelle Parish like last year's sugar Plum, last year's
- 20:53Speaker 1: a haunted wedding, like she was really busiastic, really busy
- 20:58Speaker 1: last year, and at the beginning of this year. I
- 21:01Speaker 1: hope I'm wrong about it. I worry it's just gonna
- 21:04Speaker 1: be like frenemies to lovers with a greater mission of
- 21:10Speaker 1: like saving Christmas, and I don't know, I don't know.
- 21:13Speaker 2: They plan to stay away from each other, but when
- 21:15Speaker 2: a snowstorm prevents all the Christmas presents from being delivered
- 21:18Speaker 2: to base, they are forced to team up for a
- 21:20Speaker 2: special mission to save Christmas. Now, is this a Santa
- 21:23Speaker 2: Claus situation? What's you know? Or is it like save
- 21:26Speaker 2: the Amazon truck?
- 21:27Speaker 1: Good question?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Good question? Indeed, Next up, the Hotly anticipated Sunday, November two.
- 21:34Speaker 2: A Newport Christmas starring Gina Clare Mason and West Brown,
- 21:39Speaker 2: a nineteen o five socialite, magically lands in twenty twenty
- 21:43Speaker 2: five Newport that's Rhode Island and falls for a local historian,
- 21:47Speaker 2: but must choose between two centuries?
- 21:50Speaker 1: Can I just add here? The director is Dustin Rei Cart,
- 21:54Speaker 1: the writers Juwa Botkin, Andrew Gernhardt and Dustin y Cart
- 22:00Speaker 1: as well. This is the team, with the exception of Jawabatkin,
- 22:04Speaker 1: but this is the production team behind A Builtmore Christmas.
- 22:08Speaker 2: This is a killer team.
- 22:08Speaker 1: They're not gonna miss, not gonna miss, not gonna miss.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Costuming done by one Keith Costumes. Yep, who I trust
- 22:16Speaker 2: to get the period costuming done well. He of course
- 22:19Speaker 2: also worked on the Biltmore Christmas. He nailed that. In
- 22:22Speaker 2: my opinion, I am very much looking forward to this
- 22:25Speaker 2: on many many levels. I love everyone involved. A Builtmore
- 22:29Speaker 2: Christmas really sold me on time travel Christmas content.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I mean, you can't go wrong with Jawabakan too, who
- 22:37Speaker 1: knows how to write. She writes the we have said
- 22:40Speaker 1: for a long time. She writes, like difficult family situations
- 22:44Speaker 1: really well, if you're not familiar with her work. I
- 22:48Speaker 1: mean she wrote Savorine Paris from last year, branching out
- 22:52Speaker 1: from maybe two years ago with Sarah Drew. She's so good,
- 22:57Speaker 1: She's so good. Gina Claire is great, Wes Brown is great.
- 23:02Speaker 1: It's gonna be five stars if we can get these
- 23:04Speaker 1: two to sing together. I don't know if there is
- 23:06Speaker 1: gonna be a moment for that or not. I'm really looking, really,
- 23:12Speaker 1: really looking forward to this one. I just think visually
- 23:14Speaker 1: it's gonna be stunning. Storytelling is gonna be great. I
- 23:18Speaker 1: cannot wait.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I co sign all of that. We're gonna take a
- 23:21Speaker 2: quick break and we're gonna come right back with more
- 23:23Speaker 2: first impressions of the count. On a Christmas lineup.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Saturday, November eighth, Christmas Above the Clouds talk about another
- 23:41Speaker 1: hotly anticipated, indeed reunification of our two faves.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Mister Golden Delicious himself.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, guys, Christmas above the Clouds. I don't
- 23:52Speaker 1: know if I even have said it yet. A CEO
- 23:55Speaker 1: trying to skip Christmas, faces her past, present and future
- 23:58Speaker 1: on a long haul flight and reconnects with her ex.
- 24:02Speaker 1: This is the first time we've seen Aaron Craig how
- 24:04Speaker 1: and Tyler hyes, reunite? Since it was always you do
- 24:09Speaker 1: you have a first impression?
- 24:10Speaker 2: My first impression is done and done. I'm here appointment
- 24:14Speaker 2: television for real. Peter Beinson also directed It's gonna be great.
- 24:19Speaker 2: I have no doubt these two have fire chemistry. They're
- 24:23Speaker 2: great together. I'm excited to see them reunite. I think
- 24:25Speaker 2: they've both only gotten better with time. If this isn't
- 24:29Speaker 2: a smash hit.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I'll be shocked. Yeah, let me tell you, I love
- 24:33Speaker 1: a retelling of a Christmas Carol. In the extended synopsis,
- 24:39Speaker 1: they talk about three quirky spirits you have who come
- 24:42Speaker 1: to visit? Who is playing the three quirky spirits? I
- 24:45Speaker 1: cannot wait. I haven't heard any rumors. Please, I'm begging
- 24:49Speaker 1: these are cameo spots. Absolutely begging that they're cameo spots.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Here's what I am worried about. Like Christmas on duty,
- 24:57Speaker 1: I feel like this is taking place in one setting.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Are we trapped in this airplane for the entire time
- 25:04Speaker 1: or is it going to be like they eventually land
- 25:08Speaker 1: and then like life continues on land. I don't know
- 25:13Speaker 1: what do you think? Are we in this tube, this
- 25:15Speaker 1: metal tube, this entire.
- 25:16Speaker 2: We're spending a lot of time in an airplane, which
- 25:18Speaker 2: they're gonna have to sell me on for real.
- 25:21Speaker 1: But so excited to see these two and like you said,
- 25:24Speaker 1: bring on golden delicious Hines.
- 25:27Speaker 2: You know, I think the fact that they It says,
- 25:29Speaker 2: haunted by her past present in future, she's forced to
- 25:32Speaker 2: confront the choices that led to her success, so it
- 25:34Speaker 2: left her flying solo. So we may get while we
- 25:37Speaker 2: are centered in a plane in real time, we may
- 25:39Speaker 2: get a lot yeah, dream sequences or moments that or
- 25:44Speaker 2: at least are set outside of the plane, happening in
- 25:47Speaker 2: past and the future.
- 25:48Speaker 1: I'm really excited. I don't know who the writer is
- 25:50Speaker 1: on this one either, dying to know that as well.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Next up, Sunday, November ninth, A Keller Christmas Vacation. It
- 25:59Speaker 2: starts Jonathan Bennett, Brandon Routh, and Eden Share. Three adult
- 26:05Speaker 2: siblings reluctantly reunite for a European Christmas or river cruise
- 26:09Speaker 2: that becomes the family trip of a lifetime. Wendy, do
- 26:12Speaker 2: you know who eaton Share is?
- 26:13Speaker 1: I sure do? From the middle, Sue, heck, yeah, it's
- 26:17Speaker 1: not a show that I watched, But she's like a
- 26:20Speaker 1: cultural touchstone that I shall like.
- 26:22Speaker 2: She's real great on TikTok. She's super normal, really got twins,
- 26:27Speaker 2: She's just like a mom. I'm so excited. I really
- 26:29Speaker 2: enjoy her on TikTok. She's real smart and funny. And
- 26:32Speaker 2: I did not watch The Middle in real time, but
- 26:35Speaker 2: TikTok loves to feed me scenes of television shows and
- 26:39Speaker 2: I've seen a fair bit of it since then. She's
- 26:42Speaker 2: absolutely an icon. I love this pairing her. Jonathan Brandon
- 26:46Speaker 2: Routh of course, Superman Slash Nine Lives, Nine Kittens of Christmas,
- 26:51Speaker 2: Welcome Back, Welcome back. We're headed back down the Danube.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Danube, but make it Christmas.
- 26:57Speaker 2: They must have gotten a good deal. Yeah, here's some
- 27:00Speaker 2: inside baseball. Last year, we interviewed Jonathan Bennett and he
- 27:05Speaker 2: was telling us off Mike. It was off Mic. I mean,
- 27:08Speaker 2: I feel like we can talk about it now. But
- 27:10Speaker 2: he's like, yeah, I'm getting ready to leave.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I gotta go do a European movie, like and it's
- 27:15Speaker 1: got to be done now actually during the Christmas season, so.
- 27:19Speaker 2: They must go to some holiday market. Yeah. Look, I'm
- 27:22Speaker 2: into it.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I like the three adult siblings angle. I'm excited to
- 27:27Speaker 1: see who plays their parents. I'm into the River Cruise.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Cruise movie the Dan New Movies I really liked, and
- 27:35Speaker 1: if I recall when we reviewed the Dan New Movies,
- 27:38Speaker 1: I was a little bit disappointed that they didn't show
- 27:40Speaker 1: more boat stuff. But here is where it's going to work.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Because they're not going to just be contained to a boat.
- 27:46Speaker 1: They're going to be in the you know, when you
- 27:49Speaker 1: what's it called when you d boards. Yeah, and they're
- 27:53Speaker 1: gonna go to the markets and they're gonna do this stuff.
- 27:54Speaker 1: And it allows the opportunity for like, you know, a
- 27:58Speaker 1: boyfriend or a girlfriend to fly to them. Like it's
- 28:01Speaker 1: not just going to be them or it's gonna be
- 28:04Speaker 1: some meeting. They're gonna meet people. So yeah, it does
- 28:07Speaker 1: say new friendships and budding romances. This will be, as
- 28:13Speaker 1: far as we can tell, the first opportunity for a
- 28:15Speaker 1: main character of Sam sex romance. I'm certainly hoping we
- 28:18Speaker 1: get some of that with Jonathan Bennett here. Agreat. You
- 28:22Speaker 1: know what I think would be so amazing too if
- 28:25Speaker 1: Katherine Disher showed up just as like a sitting in
- 28:28Speaker 1: the lounge area, So good.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Back, not just Katherine Disher, bring back our captain. Oh
- 28:36Speaker 2: I'd love that.
- 28:37Speaker 1: I wonder if it's the same. It's got to be
- 28:40Speaker 1: like the same, it's got to be actual boat company. Yeah, Saturday,
- 28:45Speaker 1: November fifteenth, Here is the one I feel everybody is
- 28:48Speaker 1: excited about. Yeah, and please don't mistake the tone in
- 28:52Speaker 1: my voice about it. But three wise This Man, starring
- 28:56Speaker 1: Paul Campbell, kimberly Sasdad, Tyler Hines, Andrew Waller, Margaret Margaret Colin,
- 29:03Speaker 1: directed by Terry Ingram. I believe the writer's return, Paul Campbell,
- 29:08Speaker 1: kimberly Sasaid, and Russell Han.
- 29:10Speaker 2: Indeed, Russell confirmed he did ride alongside Paul and Kim
- 29:13Speaker 2: for this final chapter and the Brenner Boy saga.
- 29:17Speaker 1: The Brenner brothers are back, this time juggling babies, big moves,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and their final family Christmas in their childhood home. I
- 29:25Speaker 1: guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Yeah. With unexpected in laws, visiting wild animals, lurking and
- 29:32Speaker 2: freshly cut Christmas trees, and a hesitant mal Sanna, the
- 29:35Speaker 2: boys love their work cutout for them as the holiday
- 29:37Speaker 2: begins to loom. Yeah. I think this is a rinse
- 29:39Speaker 2: and repeat situation. They know what works, why not bring
- 29:42Speaker 2: it back one last time. What are your personal feelings
- 29:45Speaker 2: on that Last year's Three Wiser Men was not one
- 29:48Speaker 2: of my favorite movies of the season. I didn't hate it,
- 29:52Speaker 2: but I thought there were stronger showings. I may have
- 29:55Speaker 2: said last year that we didn't need a third installment
- 29:59Speaker 2: of the rewise Is, then I'm not surprised it's back.
- 30:02Speaker 2: It will be an enjoyable watch no matter what. Yeah,
- 30:06Speaker 2: I mean, the guys together are always funny. I think
- 30:10Speaker 2: there will be plenty of comedy. I'm hoping there's a
- 30:13Speaker 2: big emotional payoff, especially with the storyline that this is
- 30:17Speaker 2: their last Christmas in the family home and what that
- 30:21Speaker 2: means to them. I'm hoping there's some.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Meat to meet.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Uh huh, yeah. Yeah. Sunday, November sixteenth, we have tidings
- 30:29Speaker 2: for this season. It starts Tamara Mowrey Housley, b J
- 30:32Speaker 2: Britt and Elijah Justice Lewis. A serious news anchor is
- 30:37Speaker 2: inspired by a young fan to highlight heartwarming holiday stories
- 30:41Speaker 2: and finds love along the way. All I gotta say
- 30:45Speaker 2: is b J Britt was looking like a snack in
- 30:47Speaker 2: those behind the scenes sneak peaks we got of this movie.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I am all in for our boy BJ as a newscaster.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I think he's gonna nail it.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I'm really excited to see b J Britt in a
- 30:59Speaker 1: lead role. I hate the title of this movie. It
- 31:04Speaker 1: was formerly called Tonight's Top Story, which at least gives
- 31:08Speaker 1: me something. We know his character is a miscaster. Tidings
- 31:13Speaker 1: for this season means absolutely nothing to me.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I totally agree. It's like they had to make it
- 31:18Speaker 2: holiday in some way. There had to be some sort
- 31:22Speaker 2: of happy medium between Tonight's Top Story and Tidings for
- 31:25Speaker 2: the Season. Yeah, I just I mean, I could freaking
- 31:30Speaker 2: chat GPT five absolutely absolutely. What I like about this
- 31:35Speaker 2: is the premise feels fun, and it feels fresh, and
- 31:39Speaker 2: I like that it's reflective of our world today because
- 31:43Speaker 2: in the extended synopsis, we have like a boy who's
- 31:47Speaker 2: unhappy about all the bad news in the world. Yeah,
- 31:51Speaker 2: let's report some good stories.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:54Speaker 2: I love that.
- 31:55Speaker 1: That give me some feel good. I'm excited. I'm a
- 31:59Speaker 1: little bit wor worried because you know how I feel
- 32:01Speaker 1: about children and movies. Could it could go either way,
- 32:05Speaker 1: like this could be super annoying or he'd be like adorable.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Totally agree what our synopsis does not make clear is
- 32:12Speaker 1: that this young boy is the son of Tamaramo Ray
- 32:15Speaker 1: Housley's character right a single mom So and then, of
- 32:19Speaker 1: course things are gonna get sticky as the young boy
- 32:23Speaker 1: starts to look up to.
- 32:24Speaker 2: This man in his budding romance with his mother. Yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to it me too.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Here's another big one, Saturday, November twenty second Holiday touchdown,
- 32:34Speaker 1: A Bill's love story. I mean, neighbors bounded by Bill's
- 32:39Speaker 1: mafia traditions, discover a decade's old Christmas secret and the
- 32:44Speaker 1: romance that's been right next door. Okay, hear me out
- 32:49Speaker 1: for a second. This movie stars Holland Roden, Matthew Didario,
- 32:54Speaker 1: plus cameos from Buffalo Bill's players and legends. Director Dustin
- 32:59Speaker 1: Reichart also did last year's football movie. We talked about
- 33:02Speaker 1: him earlier in this episode that he did builtmore like
- 33:06Speaker 1: he's very.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Skilled than his job. Yeah, but Julie Sherman Wolf did
- 33:11Speaker 2: not get the opportunity to write this movie, and as
- 33:14Speaker 2: far as I can tell, did not write a movie
- 33:16Speaker 2: in the countdown.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of movies that we don't know
- 33:20Speaker 1: who wrote them yet. So I'm hoping that there's one
- 33:23Speaker 1: in there that was pinned by her, and.
- 33:25Speaker 2: We just don't know yet.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Yeah. The writers of this are Vanessa Morano and Danielle Morrow.
- 33:32Speaker 1: If you are a Gilmour Girls fan, Vanessa Morano is
- 33:35Speaker 1: April Nardini. Hmmm, here, I'm gonna say it. How did
- 33:39Speaker 1: they land this gig? The writers? Yeah, that's a great question.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I don't know. I thought the Chiefs movie was fine
- 33:47Speaker 2: last year. I thought it was.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Cute, but it was one and done right.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It was totally watchable, but it was not a movie
- 33:53Speaker 2: that I wanted to continue talking about once it was over.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I found the promotion of it to be very frustrating.
- 33:58Speaker 2: It overshadowed so many other movies that I thought deserved
- 34:02Speaker 2: time and promotion. I haven't that. It hasn't hit critical
- 34:06Speaker 2: mass yet, so it'll be interesting to see how that
- 34:09Speaker 2: promotion plays out this year. You know, last year, the
- 34:13Speaker 2: stars of that movie were on the cruise. Julie Sherman,
- 34:17Speaker 2: Wolf was on the cruise. There was a big focus
- 34:19Speaker 2: on Tyler and Hunter. That's not the case this year, right,
- 34:24Speaker 2: They're not on the cruise, although I'm sure they'll make
- 34:26Speaker 2: a appearance at Kansas City. I'm very interested to see
- 34:31Speaker 2: what the promotion looks like. I think it could be
- 34:33Speaker 2: fine bringing in a fandom like this, bringing in the
- 34:36Speaker 2: football fandom. There's also another crossover with the Bills player
- 34:40Speaker 2: in another movie.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I noticed that too, So you know, I think
- 34:44Speaker 1: that's smart.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Right? Are you going to get some people who are
- 34:46Speaker 2: maybe willing to watch because they're going to see their
- 34:48Speaker 2: favorite team? Andrew Walker makes a cameo in this movie.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Obviously we'll watch it.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm looking forward to this one the least, and
- 34:56Speaker 1: I will gladly eat crow if it's good.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Totally me too. I'm not afraid to admit that. If
- 35:04Speaker 2: it's good, I just I wasn't on my list of
- 35:08Speaker 2: things to look forward to this year.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but let's see. Can April Nardini write a script?
- 35:12Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 35:13Speaker 2: I don't know that. Sunday, November twenty third, Melt my
- 35:16Speaker 2: Heart This Christmas, A glass blower's dream collides with a
- 35:20Speaker 2: fair director's rule, leading to love, betrayal and a second chance,
- 35:23Speaker 2: starring Laura Vandervoort as the passionate glass blower and Stephen
- 35:30Speaker 2: Who's our That says a lot right there. I just
- 35:35Speaker 2: don't I don't have high hopes.
- 35:37Speaker 1: For this movie. So when I was doing the research
- 35:39Speaker 1: ear like weeks and weeks and weeks ago, when I
- 35:42Speaker 1: started compiling the rumored movies for Hallmark, this one was
- 35:47Speaker 1: one of them at that time. Full IMDb page, which
- 35:51Speaker 1: leads me to believe that this acquisition is an acquisition.
- 35:55Speaker 2: It reads like one.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I could be wrong. I don't know. I've enjoyed Lloyd
- 36:00Speaker 1: both actors previously, but this story is not compelling enough
- 36:04Speaker 1: for me to be interested. And the director and writer
- 36:08Speaker 1: are two names that are not familiar with Hallmark.
- 36:13Speaker 2: We also have mixed into this storyline. There's a secret
- 36:17Speaker 2: identity situation, so you know there's a case for misunderstandings
- 36:23Speaker 2: to abound. Oh boy, oh boy, indeed, we're gonna take
- 36:28Speaker 2: a quick break and we're gonna come right back with
- 36:30Speaker 2: more first impressions of the count on a Christmas lineup
- 36:41Speaker 2: that takes us into Mary Thanksgiving weekends.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I gotta tell you kind of surprised that our football
- 36:48Speaker 1: Bill's movie did not end up on Mary Thanksgiving.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Indeed, indeed it did last year.
- 36:54Speaker 1: But with that said, let's get into the first movie
- 36:58Speaker 1: of Mary Thanksgiving Weekend, Thursday, November twenty seventh. This is
- 37:02Speaker 1: Thanksgiving Day.
- 37:03Speaker 2: If I'm correct, we are correct.
- 37:05Speaker 1: We met in December. Stars Autumn Reser and Nile Mater. Director,
- 37:10Speaker 1: writer currently unknown.
- 37:12Speaker 2: I believe Nea Wineman wrote this script.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Really Ah, that makes me so happy to strangers share
- 37:18Speaker 1: a magical night in a holiday hotel and spend December
- 37:21Speaker 1: searching for each other. My first impression. I love a
- 37:24Speaker 1: missed connection storyline. Me too. I love Autumn Recer, we
- 37:29Speaker 1: have not seen her since last summer. Give me bail.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I love nil Mater. I know he's not going to
- 37:35Speaker 1: be bailing.
- 37:36Speaker 2: This, but no, but Nina Weinman did report that nil
- 37:39Speaker 2: Mat is incredible in this.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Oh I'm so excited.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I love their quest to find each other. That's
- 37:47Speaker 2: very fun. Next up, Friday, November twenty eighth, The Snow
- 37:50Speaker 2: Must Go On. This is directed by one Jeff Beasley
- 37:54Speaker 2: and stars Heather Hemmons and Corey kott Are. This is
- 37:58Speaker 2: about a former Broadway star who directs a small town
- 38:01Speaker 2: Christmas musical, rekindling his love for the stage and for
- 38:04Speaker 2: a local teacher. Isaiah Hayward is Coreycott's characters name. He's
- 38:10Speaker 2: a former Broadway star, so Jeff gets to revisit his
- 38:13Speaker 2: Broadway Dreams. I imagine we get some singing once again
- 38:17Speaker 2: in this movie.
- 38:18Speaker 1: I have some good news. Stephanie say also, Stephanie say ah.
- 38:24Speaker 2: I hope she gets to sing.
- 38:25Speaker 1: I know so. If you recall, Jeff Beasley directed Last
- 38:29Speaker 1: Year's A Carol for Two, which was also a Nina
- 38:31Speaker 1: Weinman movie, it did not get talked about enough. I
- 38:35Speaker 1: loved that movie.
- 38:36Speaker 2: It was so good. The music was so.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Incredible in that movie. I'm thrilled. I'm so excited for
- 38:44Speaker 1: this one.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I don't think we made enough Hey about the fact
- 38:47Speaker 2: that Jordan Litz, the actual Fearo on Broadway, was in
- 38:50Speaker 2: that movie.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Jaw of Stone. That was such a great movie. If
- 38:57Speaker 1: you have not watched it, please find it on Hallmark Plus. Yes,
- 39:00Speaker 1: but I am really looking forward to this one, really
- 39:03Speaker 1: really looking forward to this one. Last Year's A Carol
- 39:07Speaker 1: for Two with that like kind of New York gritty
- 39:11Speaker 1: miss Broadway. I just loved so much about that. I
- 39:14Speaker 1: hope it has touches of that. I don't think it's
- 39:16Speaker 1: going to because it's like small town Christmas musical, but
- 39:19Speaker 1: I'm looking for the big musical scenes.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Sure me too.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I cannot wait. Friday November twenty eighth. The More the
- 39:27Speaker 1: Merrier stars Rachel Boston and Brendan Penny. Snowed in at
- 39:32Speaker 1: a rural hospital on Christmas Eve, two doctors deliver babies
- 39:36Speaker 1: and holiday cheer while falling for each other. Director and
- 39:40Speaker 1: writer unknown Well. One of the babies being delivered is
- 39:45Speaker 1: the baby of the local obg yn. Now, look, I
- 39:49Speaker 1: like this pairing Rachel Boston Brandon Penny.
- 39:51Speaker 2: This is a real fun pairing. As you often point out,
- 39:55Speaker 2: Brandon was so fun in Family Food on the cruise.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Worried about the high jinks, worried about the like oh no,
- 40:03Speaker 1: you know, like a little.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Bit of that, but could be very fun.
- 40:07Speaker 1: This is also the movie that has the crossover with
- 40:10Speaker 1: the Bills Player, if I'm correct, Mar Hamlin.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:13Speaker 1: And there's a little bit of a confusion I feel
- 40:17Speaker 1: in terms of the story premise here because the way
- 40:21Speaker 1: it reads to me is like there's a lot of
- 40:23Speaker 1: baby's being delivered, but when you when you read the synopsis,
- 40:31Speaker 1: it does talk about like other heart patients. I have
- 40:35Speaker 1: a link to a website it's called abbot dot com,
- 40:38Speaker 1: which is weirdly sounds related but it's not. And the
- 40:42Speaker 1: article is Abbot Heartmates. Ambassador tomar Hamlin and five of
- 40:48Speaker 1: his Heartmates teammates will appear in the More the Merrier
- 40:52Speaker 1: And so these are real life heart patients.
- 40:55Speaker 2: And so my guess is they're there trying to spread
- 40:57Speaker 2: holiday cheer, doing a holiday cheer visit, delivering gifts, that
- 41:01Speaker 2: sort of situation children, right, but DeMar Hamlin is there, yeay,
- 41:07Speaker 2: trying to yeah, spread holiday cheer. Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 41:11Speaker 2: So it feels a little late dual storyline, Yeah it
- 41:15Speaker 2: does it get too messy?
- 41:16Speaker 1: I hope not? Yeah? Yeah.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Next up Saturday, November twenty ninth and Alpine Holidays starring
- 41:21Speaker 2: Ashley Williams, Lacey Maylee and Julian Somoni. A strange sisters
- 41:26Speaker 2: honor their grandmother's wish with a trip to the French
- 41:29Speaker 2: Alps that rekindles family bonds and sparks romance. Weren't we
- 41:33Speaker 2: just saying we needed a group of women, including Ashley Williams,
- 41:37Speaker 2: And here it is, our wish has come true?
- 41:40Speaker 1: Yep. Also directed by Lucy Guest. Which It's gonna be
- 41:44Speaker 1: so great, It's gonna be so great, Like I'm in
- 41:48Speaker 1: Ashley Williams, Stan, I love her, I love her movies.
- 41:51Speaker 1: I told Megan off Mike all week and long. I
- 41:53Speaker 1: watched maybe four Ashley Williams.
- 41:57Speaker 2: What did You Want?
- 41:58Speaker 1: I watched October Kiss ye. I watched Falling Together from
- 42:02Speaker 1: last year. Yes, I also watched One More hold On.
- 42:06Speaker 1: She has long hair in it and she's a single.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Oh never kiss a man in a Christmas Guys, I've
- 42:15Speaker 1: been really sick and so like, I just like laid
- 42:18Speaker 1: on the couch and watched movies. And yeah, yeah it
- 42:22Speaker 1: was an Ashley Williams weekend.
- 42:23Speaker 2: But actually William's fest.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I'm so excited. I love Lacy j Maylee too. I
- 42:30Speaker 1: just think I'm expecting comedy. I'm expecting Heartfield connection. You
- 42:35Speaker 1: cannot go wrong. I'm dying to see who wrote this movie.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Me too.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Here's a Biggie Saturday, November twenty ninth, So this is
- 42:42Speaker 1: a double header of a night. Here we have the
- 42:48Speaker 1: highly anticipated A Grand Old Opry Christmas stars Nicky DeLoach,
- 42:53Speaker 1: Christopher Paulaha, James Ditton, Shorn, Sharon Lawrence, plus Grand Old
- 42:59Speaker 1: Opry cans by many, many musicians. This is director by
- 43:04Speaker 1: Claire Nieder Pruhim, which I was so filled with joy
- 43:09Speaker 1: when I found out that a woman directed this. I
- 43:12Speaker 1: don't know why. I enjoy her movies a lot. I'm
- 43:15Speaker 1: very excited to see her do something with this. I
- 43:17Speaker 1: don't know who the writer of this movie is.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Neither do I. I think it's Tracy Andrene.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Oh fantastic. Here's the synopsis. A songwriter returns to Nashville's
- 43:28Speaker 1: Grand Old Opry, where Christmas Magic transports her back in
- 43:31Speaker 1: time to reconnect with her late father. Can I tell
- 43:34Speaker 1: you here's the one biggest thing that worries me, this
- 43:38Speaker 1: big extended cast. I hope it doesn't come off as
- 43:42Speaker 1: like an all star special? Do you see what I
- 43:46Speaker 1: mean with? Yeah?
- 43:47Speaker 2: And I look, these are like if you were a
- 43:49Speaker 2: nineties country fan and you're seeing names like Red Agins
- 43:51Speaker 2: and Susie Bagas and then she gets transported back to
- 43:54Speaker 2: nineteen ninety five to connect. A part of me is
- 43:56Speaker 2: like the nineties country is ma jam yeah yea ash So.
- 44:00Speaker 2: So I'm hoping it's done in a way that's not
- 44:02Speaker 2: like and Ladies and Gentlemen Sissy Boggas and it's more like, hey,
- 44:06Speaker 2: that music is incidental to the time, and she happens
- 44:09Speaker 2: to be there. Yeah, Well, if she sings Hay Cinderella
- 44:13Speaker 2: in this movie. I'm going but there's so.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Many musicians in this do you think, like no one
- 44:18Speaker 1: artist and they begin to imagine how they're gonna do it. Yeah,
- 44:21Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. Look, I love Chris,
- 44:24Speaker 1: we all know this. I love Nikki. I'm excited to
- 44:26Speaker 1: see them together in this. I'm excited to see Nikki
- 44:29Speaker 1: get a really big movie. I love the time travel
- 44:33Speaker 1: element so much, the fact that she gets to go
- 44:36Speaker 1: back in time and it's a story of redemption. And
- 44:39Speaker 1: we have Chris who's playing this nineties. He's not present day.
- 44:44Speaker 1: He's a dude that lived in the nineties. He's like
- 44:46Speaker 1: a manager or something. So excit I cannot wait. I
- 44:50Speaker 1: will have some problems if they like have a romantic thing.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Like look, I know I've just talked about it before,
- 44:58Speaker 1: a Biltmore being my favorite movie, Like you.
- 45:00Speaker 2: Don't want them to have a romance.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I do, but like in my brain it doesn't make
- 45:04Speaker 1: any sense, but you know, sell it to me.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I mean, they bring him forward in time and a
- 45:10Speaker 2: built more Christmas.
- 45:11Speaker 1: I know, I don't know.
- 45:13Speaker 2: He's our time traveling dude.
- 45:14Speaker 1: He is. I'm really excited for this movie. I'm really excited,
- 45:19Speaker 1: and I have been.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Have you have you been to Nashville? I have not.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I went several years ago. I toured the ground old Operate.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I can envision it in my mind. It's like church pews,
- 45:29Speaker 1: like I can just see the dark wood and stained glass,
- 45:33Speaker 1: like I'm already envisioning what this movie is gonna look like.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I'm so excited.
- 45:37Speaker 2: I think it's gonna be great. They had a ton
- 45:39Speaker 2: of they had a call for background actors. So a
- 45:42Speaker 2: lot of Hallmark watchers, including Front of the Show denise it,
- 45:46Speaker 2: are in this.
- 45:47Speaker 1: That's so exciting, it's fun, so fun. I wish I
- 45:49Speaker 1: would do that here in La. You know a lot
- 45:52Speaker 1: of Hollywood where they're supposed to make movies but they don't.
- 45:55Speaker 2: But you know, yeah, well California is trying to incentivize
- 45:58Speaker 2: people to come back to make movies. So crush your fingers.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Wrapping up Mary. Thanksgiving weekend, we have Sunday two movies,
- 46:04Speaker 2: The Christmas Cup Sunday November thirtieth, which stars Rhann and
- 46:08Speaker 2: Fish and Ben Rosenbaum, who is on when Calls the Heart.
- 46:13Speaker 2: A marine sidelined by an injury, leads her hometown team
- 46:17Speaker 2: in a holiday rivalry game and finds love on and
- 46:21Speaker 2: off the field. Do you have any thoughts on this movie?
- 46:25Speaker 1: Not for one second do I believe that Rhianna and
- 46:27Speaker 1: Fish is a marine.
- 46:29Speaker 2: I find rhann and Fish. I really like her. However,
- 46:33Speaker 2: I find her to have somewhat of a bad picker.
- 46:36Speaker 2: Uh huh, go ahead, So I think she finds herself
- 46:40Speaker 2: in Look at a picture of her. That's a great performance.
- 46:43Speaker 2: She and Tyler Hines have crazy chemistry in that movie.
- 46:47Speaker 2: And then you look at all these on location travel
- 46:49Speaker 2: movies that kind of fall flat for me quite frankly,
- 46:52Speaker 2: So this could really go either way.
- 46:55Speaker 1: She's too in the very best way, like too bubbly
- 46:59Speaker 1: and too exuberant for me to buy her as like
- 47:03Speaker 1: a serious And the Christmas Cup is it about soccerow?
- 47:09Speaker 1: It's some sort of sport, the annual Christmas Cup against
- 47:12Speaker 1: the rival town. I mean, it'd be great if it
- 47:15Speaker 1: was like trivia and not actual sport. I don't know, Like,
- 47:19Speaker 1: it's just this isn't This does nothing for me, totally
- 47:24Speaker 1: nothing for me.
- 47:25Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Sunday, November thirtieth, again, another doubleheader night. We have Christmas
- 47:31Speaker 1: at the Catnip Cafe Stars Aaron Cahill and Paul Campbell,
- 47:36Speaker 1: directed by Lucy Guest, a marketing exec inherits half of
- 47:41Speaker 1: a cat cafe, where fundraising, feline matching, and romance all
- 47:45Speaker 1: play leading roles.
- 47:47Speaker 2: What are your thoughts here?
- 47:48Speaker 1: I mean, the premise makes my eyes roll, but but
- 47:54Speaker 1: I do think the cast and director are going to
- 47:56Speaker 1: elevate this. Sure. I imagine Paul will play like a
- 47:59Speaker 1: curmudget type.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Yeah, he's doctor Ben Kain, the veterinarian who owns the
- 48:04Speaker 2: other half of the cat cafe that Aaron ky Hill's
- 48:08Speaker 2: character wants to sell before Christmas. Naturally.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Yeah, those hot Christmas real estate deadlines. Totally. I feel
- 48:16Speaker 1: like I know what to expect. But I love Aaron
- 48:19Speaker 1: k Hill, and that's another one who I've really been
- 48:22Speaker 1: leaning into watching a lot of your movies. I really
- 48:26Speaker 1: enjoy her, I enjoy Paul. I think it's gonna be good.
- 48:30Speaker 1: I'm excited for it.
- 48:31Speaker 2: But the nine Last of Christmas was an unexpected hit.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Maybe we're gonna get another one. Cat cafes are all
- 48:36Speaker 2: the rage, they sure are. We're gonna wrap this episode
- 48:39Speaker 2: up here, We'll be back with another episode. It's already
