- 0:00So the Board of Trustees of the UAE Water Aid
- 0:03Foundation, SUKIA UAE, recently convened for
- 0:07their second meeting of 2026. Oh, nice. Yeah.
- 0:12The session was presided over by His Excellency
- 0:15Saeed Mohamed Altair, chairman of the Board of
- 0:18Trustees. It was also attended by key leadership
- 0:21from Khalifa University and the Dubai Electricity
- 0:24and Water Authority. And, you know, during that
- 0:26meeting, a very clear vision was established
- 0:29regarding the foundation's core mandate. Right.
- 0:32Stating it exactly as it was delivered, they
- 0:35said, we draw inspiration from His Highness Sheikh
- 0:38Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president
- 0:41and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai.
- 0:44We do this in upholding the values of giving
- 0:47and working for humanity, both within the UAE
- 0:50and beyond. Hmm. Yeah. Wow. Exactly. This is
- 1:21alongside implementing transformative projects
- 1:23around the world. These provide clean and safe
- 1:26water to those most in need. And that focus on
- 1:30innovation? It's actively playing out in the
- 1:32fifth cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
- 1:35Global Water Award. Yeah, I saw that. With $1
- 1:39million in prizes on the line, the initiative
- 1:42has attracted serious attention. Universities,
- 1:45companies, and innovators worldwide are getting
- 1:48involved. Definitely. They are accepting applications
- 1:51until September 30, 2026. And we can see the
- 1:55real -world application of this mission through
- 1:57their recent field visit to Tanzania. Oh, wow.
- 2:01Carried out under the directives of His Highness,
- 2:03these initiatives are actively providing potable
- 2:06water. They're reaching more than a million people
- 2:08across multiple provinces and villages. The ripple
- 2:11effects of that access are massive. Right. Beyond
- 2:15protecting communities from waterborne diseases,
- 2:18it eliminates the grueling daily chore of water
- 2:21collection. Mm -hmm. That means people can dedicate
- 2:24more of their time to education, work, and family
- 2:27life. And the foundation is equally active on
- 2:30a local scale, too. Okay. For the third consecutive
- 2:33year, Sukia is participating in the All Freeze
- 2:36Fridge humanitarian campaign. Oh, that's great!
- 2:40Launched by Fusion Dubai and supported by local
- 2:42partners, this initiative aims to distribute
- 2:442 million bottles of cold water. They're giving
- 2:48out water, juices, and frozen treats to workers
- 2:50across Dubai during the summer. So now, here's
- 2:54a question we'd like you to think about. Yeah.
- 2:56As global water challenges grow, how can we further
- 3:00leverage both technology and community -driven
- 3:03compassion? We need to ensure clean water reaches
- 3:06everyone who needs it.
