- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Don't chase happiness.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: It only creates problems.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: I'm big on coherence.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: When something feels off, I want to understand why.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And I'm pretty good at it.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: But lately, I've found myself analysing everything.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: Why do I feel this way?
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: What happened?
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: What can I change?
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: What can I fix?
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: At some point, something that usually helped me started working against me.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: It was exhausting.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: So yesterday, I tried an experiment.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Instead of trying to have a good day, I gave myself permission to have an okay one.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Hell, I was willing to accept meh.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: That was the goal.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: That evening, I went to play pickleball.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: It wasn't a great night.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: It wasn't a bad night either.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: It was just okay.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: At some point, I caught myself thinking, man, this is just an okay night.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Then it hit me.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Wait, that was the goal.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I had set out to have an okay day, and here I was, having one.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Mission accomplished, and almost immediately, I felt myself getting happy.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Nothing about the night had changed.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Same night, same games, same everything.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: But somehow, what had been an okay day suddenly felt like a great one.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Turns out, when I stopped chasing happiness, it found me.
